Took my daughter to a concert. The lay out is horrible for a show its jam packed and you will just be pushed into anything around you. Theres absolutely no air they were spraying water into the crowd trying to cool it down which just made it more humid to the point it felt like a steam room. Charging 11 dollars for 2 water bottles and then ended up having to throw some out to the crowd cause how hot it was. People passing out n throwing up. Cant get to the bathrooms cause its thru the crowd. Do not recommend they shouldnt be allowed to hold shows here not a good floor plan, too hot and seriously lacking security didnt even check our tickets or check people for weapons. Wont return here

Went here for my birthday and got bottle the platinum bottle service. We were promised 3 bottles, 2 house champagne bottles, and a round of shots for the price we paid. When we asked for our champagne bottles the server said we werent there on time which was a lie since we did not get charged coverage at the door and had to be there before 11pm to secure our table. We never got the 2 extra bottles we were promised even after all the money we spent. Very disappointed, she said she would ask but got nowhere. Not one person mentioned we had to be there at a specific time to get the extra 2 champagne bottles and even If so we were there on time and had paid the platinum package fee. Also it was dead, not what is used to be.

A very bad crowd enjoys this place. A lot of wanna he’s and drug dealers! Definitely not a place you would ever want your kids to go. I know for a fact that at times they let in underage girls as well.

Honestly to charge females 15$ is a rip off. They dont have the second floor anymore either. Saturdays get so empty now. So why are you charging that muchCobra was so much better

SHADY BUSINESS! BE CAREFUL! Went to the Scarlett Lounge on New Years as an after hours location. People were standing around outside. Asked what time they closed, both security and woman at the door confirmed 5am. Paid $60 for 3 people. Was asked to leave about 20 minutes after entering. Woman at the door was gone when I walked out. Security stated they could not help and when the manager came outside, he refused to help. Tried to dispute the charge with my bank, the club contested it.

Nightlife is trash. Don’t believe the hype or social media marketing. “800 + on Saturdays”. There was easily only 100 people there. Should’ve just went to the sun city recreational center to have more fun.This reply was more entertaining than my whole night.

This is my second time coming to this club the first time I was really drunk had so much fun me and my friends turned up all night after they got the music to work it was a vibe but this time my second time 1/7/24 entertainment was subpar the music went off took a minute to get back up but when it did the music was good not what we were expecting I didn’t drink, but I did end up buying my two friends 1 drink each and I looked at the total came to like $14 and some change after the tip but then I go home and see the charge was $32 and change was a little upset about that but other than them over charging me the music was good lighting and staff great I just won’t be using a debit card here again only cash transactions if my charger would’ve been the same as I saw it on the machine would’ve been five stars but it’s the principle of the matter I was charged A little more than double of what was displayed to me on the card machine well, like I said, everything else was great I would definitely go back

Ive been coming here for years its one of the best venues in the state. The staff is very professional and friendly. The bottle girls are beautiful and so down to earth. They have great drink prices and some of the best hookah Ive ever smoked

Went to a private event at this venue and many previous. The decor could really use some updating. Parts of the floor are sticky all the time. The vinyl on the booths is wearing thin.

Went to see Little Big, our group got table tickets which required a bottle of alcohol purchase, then paid 10x the price for a bottle. We didn’t make a fuss at the time, but knowing this in the future I dunno if I would return. All the staff was super nice and the place was pretty clean.

Eh, we saw a band here, and this venue is BIZARRE! They have a stage, but the entire venue is seated minus the small little GA standing area... if you dont get there at DOORS, youll be awkwardly standing next to booths and constantly having to move for the bottle service girls that they offer for the booths. The floors are STICKY!!!! Its so sticky that if you stand long enough, the floor tiles will come up with your shoes. Getting to the bathroom is an absolute NIGHTMARE because of the booths (there is more standing room along the walkway to the bathroom. And only 1 of the 4 hand towels machines worked. And the locks on the stalls are all broke. The drinks are outrageously priced! They have no on-site parking... which is a given for downtown, so be prepared to spend $20 on a parking garage. Overall, this venue isnt great.

My night at The Monarch Theater was an excellent evening. Smooth arrival through security & tickets.The Phoenix Hip Hop performances were mostly on pointe, with the opener & encore artists blazing on the Mic. Solid MC & DJThe venue consisted of a large stage area, Rooftop Lounge, dance floor, tables & booths.DJ Booth with generous backstage area spacious bar area & convenient to light rail & parking nestled in the perfect section of Downtown Phoenix

This spot always has something going down, lot of people, different levels, gorgeous woman and just got something going on....

They get you on the bottle service... They charge $100 tip on every bottles I wish I would have know that upfront. I stop ordering bottles once I found out I was being charge $100 tip on each bottles making it $350/a bottle.

There’s way too much smoking going on inside this club. Strange enough, it was packed full when my girls and I went Friday night, but most people were just standing around, not dancing. I also ordered water...and it was pink. The music was lit; but the cons I experienced overshadow that small positive.

NEW review: went back after three years. I slipped walking out of the bathroom over some wet spots. One of their staff attended to me to ask me if I was ok and I had to stay on the floor for about a minute because I slipped a little hard. Over the embarrassing moment I got up and walk it to exit the club I told security guard about the fall and he totally started DENYING ANS GASLIGHTING ME and calling me Drunk! Mind you I had one drink and wasn’t drunk. TOTALLY disregarding my fall and kicking me out. BTW: Still smells bad, dirty and sticky carpets and security NOT caring about your security if you fall inside the club. I fell on my side and hit my hip and hand a little hard.Overpriced, dirty and smelly. Nasty place. There are better clubs in Phoenix. 👎🏽

Couldnt believe that they booked one of my favorite producers for a late night show. I had never been here, not much of a night club person. Ended up having a nice time, not a huge variety at the bar. Had a pretty young crowd which can have its downsides. The staff out front were incredibly nice!

Had a great time at the Slushii show. Security was well organized, venue was cozy, but adequate.

To keep in mind, I was there on Sunday night, this place was on point. As you walk in, there short line that gets you in fast. As you walk in, you will see a big nice space that will fit everyone needs. On your left, you will see the bar with two bartenders. Drinks are fairly cheap, however, if you wanna do it VIP, you will get free entry with nice both on a hight leave look down on the dance floor. And quit Franklin, I rather pay for the VIP both if Im a company with more than two people. The music is quite unique, they mixed Africas pop, reggae, and sometimes hip-hop. For a Sunday night, this place is as best as you can get to hang out.

For the event I went to here, I got VIP, that section was not monitored and anyone could go in that section. Its like I paid the VIP price just to have the GA expirience.... so would not recommend getting that again. The venue is really hot inside compared to other similar ones so ended up in the very back section behind the sound booth just to be able to breathe. Other than that the sound was good.

I went there with my family for my birthday and bought a table for us. We were enjoying our time hanging out. This bottle boy kept shoving me out of his way because there was a little sliver between the tables that he was getting through instead of going through the actual walk way. Idk why he was only picking the way that I was at since there were a few other, but oh well. After the 4th time of him shoving me out of the way, I legit politely asked him if he could choose another way instead of shoving me out of the way. Instantly, he cursed me out and started poking my chest while cursing me out. I pushed his hand out of the way and he shoved me very hard since I didn’t want him poking me and cursing me out. I decided that arguing him wasn’t the best idea so I turned my back to him. Next thing I see is him literally running to the security guards and telling them something. So I decided to be a grown up and speak with the security guard like a man and let him know that the bottle boy literally assaulted for nothing. The security guard said,” nah my boy didn’t touch you! I seen you push him and you were also talking down on him” instead of arguing with him, I decided to walk away because I didn’t feel like being more disrespected or belittled by getting tossed out of the club in front of all my friends and family and lose money. I talked to the manager and let her know how uncomfortable I was and she understood and gave us a refund. I appreciate her a lot for that and she offered a free bottle for my troubles. I declined due to my comfort level there was insanely low there and my night was just ruined. She was nice, respectful and understanding. I will never come back due to how terrible and attacked I felt by just wanting to enjoy my birthday.

Horrible place. Terrible service. Watch out for your wallet ... you will get pickpocketed there!!! Ladies be sure you dont leave your purse unattended. It happened to us. And 4 phone calls to the club and still no return phone call. Their voicemail even has an extension for anyone who has lost a wallet cell phone or ID… Why would they have an extension just for that? Well it must happen an awful lot there. We wont go back. We gave it two visits and got nothing but trouble.

Lighting and sound is good, doesnt always come off sanitary and you cannot rent the venue on the weekends because its already rented out to rtu. Staff is sometimes a little disorganized as far as the door and entryway go

This club is nice, the sound is great, but it is not always very practical for massive turnouts. The security is usually reasonable, but due to some floor space constraints; you may find yourself being pushed up and down the isle if you cannot find a place inside the pit to stand. There are many other local clubs that have better arrangements for large events and concerts that will likely sell out ex. Pressroom / Marquee. Ill still make appearances to this venue if there is a performer Im dying to see, but other that that, there is much room for improvement at the Monarch.

Bad experience didn’t get my table that was reserved for three weeks and kicked out. Promoter didn’t give me right time to be there. The security was overly aggressive and punched me in the face. I have tons of bruises. Security also punched two of my friends in the face. Also tried to fight my brother when he was out the club.

Was told entrance was 10$ a person. Paid for 3. checked my bank statements total was 61$. Lady Tipped her 31 bucks? Lol never coming back to this place. straight up robbing people at the entrance.

I was on vacation from out of state and I handed the bouncer my real ID (Im over 21). For some reason he was skeptical of its authenticity and started handing it around to other bouncers until they decided to steal it. The guy who put it in his pocket was extremely rude and refused to humor the idea that it was actually real, and also refused to give it back. At that point I didnt even want to enter the establishment anymore, I just wanted my ID back. Finally I had to call the cops and they showed up and gave me my ID. Worst experince Ive ever had entering a bar. Ruined my night. Bottom line: the bouncers are very uneducated and rude.

By all means go here if you like to be surrounded by greedy/overweight girls in black thongs trying to hustle money out of you. And dont you dare take a seat without having to pay upwards of $180+ for it. You cant even go 2 the restroom in this trashy club w/out someone trying to get a few dollars out of you. Security is also a joke, typical meat-head mentality, simply hired for their physical size as opposed to their ability to have an intelligent/complex thought process. Thus, If you like feeling targeted like a business mark instead of an appreciated business patron, then by all means go to Monarch Theatre lol!!!!

*edit to owner*People were crowded in isles that were ear marked for extra pay customers and pushing forward and when dancer Mike even attempted to get those contesting and not in a LINE to move, NOTHING was done. Security was asked by many and dis nothing.If youre not a theater, it shouldnt be in your title, night club should.Just had to leave a show titled 50 shades but said on stage to be magic Mike. But what would I know since security didnt do their job! Several of us attempted to say something and security actually ignored us! I realize what kind of show we were attending, BUT security are there for a reason and when the dancers are actually complaining and security STILL does NOTHING, they need to go. Will NEVER come here again and will tell EVERYONE how bad it is and NOT to go there if theyre looking for an actual theater experience. 🤬🤬🤬🤬

Great concert last weekend, but I left my card there- called multiple times and always went to voicemail. In over a week, no one ever called me back to tell me if I did or did not leave it there. Driving all the way down there (over 30minutes) to maybe find it there is a major inconvenience. Return peoples voicemails, please.

Its a nice club but just too small. Ive never seen a club have high top tables reserved as V.I.P. The bouncers are really on the watch and kind of pushy for no reason.

Wow, where do I start.... I read thru must of these reviews... so Ill say that the owners of Monarch agent usually the ones throwing the events. Those Promoters have to rent it plus pay bartenders and such. Drinks are pricey, I mean they own Barsmith next door... like a blacksmith, but alcohol... & outs downtown. When its packed, waiting for drinks sucks, but Ive never had anyone be rude to me. Organization, again depends who is doing the event. Ive seen VIP with furniture roped off with security done several different ways. Ours the best systems in Phoenix. Upstairs redroom hits harder on hardwood floors, and the layout is great. Downstairs the system has been tuned to the room! I will admit that I have somewhat of a spoiled rotten type of privilege at both venues as I have been into this music scene with co-owners & the sound engineer. Most local talent I know personally, and I usually happen into meeting/talking to any of the big guns. I just keep it 100. Granted, thats not the music they always have, and its not for everyone. As for people leaving stuff, and complaint about no answer or call backs... you do realize that they just went in the late afternoon to prep four, someones 5 separate events. Then after they all begin, they have to make sure alcohol is being stocked, bartenders are getting paid from promoters, any equipment malfunctions are handled & replaced seamlessly, not to mention performing their own sets... and then close down... I dont mean when we are kicked out and leave, they still have to do accounting, inventory, and cleaning, so at least another hour, just to go home to sleep and get up to do it again on Saturday night!! Thats if they dont have an after hours gig, too, or their familys soccer game, anniversary, birthdays, etc. During that day, so, thats their hours, late night. My advice... dont be dumb drunk and leave or forget your things, cards, etc. Literally, cards be frozen instantly, probably an app for that. New one gets sent to you, or do the pre-paid. Dispute any charges that you disagree with, it usually goes your way. Done peoples parents!!I ALWAYS HAVE A GREAT TIME!!

I was having a great time and the security got in my face for taking a PHONE CALL outside! As a woman that’s super scary! I told management but it doesn’t seem like anything is going to be done!!!

This place is trash! Avoid it. I also get a text that says to rsvp. I call the number many times and left messages. Nobody ever answered or returned my call. Your security guards need some training.Monarch is it your responsability as an owner to handle your business right with the promoters and whoever you rent the venue to. You keep on blaming promoters but if you dont want negative feedback make sure your renters dont fo a crappy job and giving your place a bad name.

Ive attended both Black/African American and Non Black targeted events.. When visiting with Black events.. the bar is NEVER fully stocked, nor are they prepared with eateries!.. I see the significant difference... And it isnt cool.. AT ALL!!

Since when did venues start charging an additional fee for entrance into a concert? Well, I dont know of any except for Monarch. A group of us had tickets in advance but prior to being let in we were told by some A-hole it would be an additional $5 to get in, what a scam!!!!!!!!!!!!!I have never heard of anything like this before I dont know if this guy was running a scam or if this is the Companys policy. Either way, I wont be going back and I hope that others will take notice to the and do the same. If this this in fact supported by the company then the place should be SHUTDOWN!!!

Every year I hit different states because I believe there’s a lot to do and see in USA. I flew to Arizona to combine the great nature with a Halloween party in Phoenix (let me clarify it was my first Halloween in the States) and I was damn excited about it.I landed, dressed up and I went to the Monarch Theatre for their “great party”. Only not to make it through the door. Waisted my time on the line not to be let inside the club because I didn’t bring my passport. Let me just say I did have a government issued ID which I have used in Australia, Europe, Asia and plenty other North and South states in US. The only other place I had similar issue was Las Vegas and guess what my purse was stolen. So never again I’d bring my passport to a club. I spoke to a policeman on the street in Phoenix that said the law enforcement would accept my European ID as an identification (name, DOB and so on are all written in English) but a bouncer in a Midwest club won’t. Highly disappointed.

As a frequent concert goer I tend to pride myself on the amount venues I have been to state to state and I have to say the Monarch is by far the worst. I will focus on the positives first as to not give a one sided review. The sound is and the atmosphere is amazing. Now on the negative side, the visuals are on par with installing a projector at your friends house, but I’ll let that slide do to how expensive it must be to set up professional equipment. The “security” represents more of group of power hungery inmates that have witnessed first hand assualting attendees for resting aginst railings or standing too close to a door. Such reports involve a security guard chokig a man while reating on a railing only to later tase him for asking what he did wrong, a man being kicked in the head uptil he was gushing blood for standed next to the door while waitig for a friend, and a girl being tossed and thrown over railings for god knows whats reason. I could go on for hours about how horrible this venue is for those who are new to the clubbing/concert scene but for the sake of a long review I will end it here. One would have to be mentally unstable to enjoy going here.

This is the worst place Ive ever been. Marijuana smoke all night, waitress serving contuously (I mean, not even half of our cups and she was serving again! Let us enjoy the night!) And the worst part was the safety staff, not only rude, they were aggressive for no reason! I will never be back, and of course not recomended! Really bad experience with that people/place. 😡😡😡👎👎👎👎👎

Everytime I go to Monarch Theatre its a Great time and staff is full of some pretty cool dudes! They keep it fun without problems! Even take care of their designated drivers too. Thank for the Sprite and my Blue BRAIN FREEZE too!

Ive been here 4 times, and its always overcrowded, the security are extremely aggressive. i hate going here but if its a really great dj then ill go. but the venue always disappoints, ALWAYS!

The grossest place I have ever purchased bottle service!! Do not waste your money!

It is a ok venue, no special lighting or effects unlike every other venue here, the only exceptional part being Pete Tong playing till 4am, but dont open a tab, cash out on every transaction. I had 2 single transactions that were added on to my tab at the end of the night, despite showing the person closing out my tab my receipts. I would rather go to Smashboxx, Maya, INTL, or even Bar smith next door to the monarch, its unfortunate promotion companies choose this venue.

Next to bar smith. We weren’t disappointed because they were playing real music and it was all vibes. Only complaint is we went to bar smith first and let’s just say it wasn’t our crowd…

Security are rude. Club is oversold for popular performers. You cant drink in VIP because its on the underage side. Never again for me.

I would recommend ppl to go here and all because I work at a hotel Renaissance Hotel to go here and I come here 1 night and someone throws up on me, I was trying to ask the bar tender for a rag so I can clean myself and they kick me outs. Like seriously??? Friend made a deal. By two bottles of hard liquor and let us in early. We got in with bands, but when we got in, every one denied that we paid over $300 for the drinks and had us kicked out.

This place is Awesome to hear Live music and also get your dance on, They have different nights all week ranging from EDM, HipHop, Latin, and Banda! You definitely gotta check this place out. Also checkout the Art in the alley!

Disappointing. Obscene drink prices and a ratty environment. The entire place is run down, theres no lights aside from the stage and the acoustics are terrible.

Saddest bar I’ve ever been to bartender who I found out was the owner kicked us this out because I questioned him on tipping 32$ to the establishment after I bought a drink literally pressed it for me after not having an answer got us escorted out sad and corny af stop scamming loyal customers

When we arrived for the first time, the music sounded great from outside. We thought we found the best place to go out every Friday! Why yes, we go out every weekend! And we have gone to several clubs looking for the aforementioned.I always clarify where we go we get VIP. ButOh surprise ! This place is chaos!! Horrible fear!Seriously, we came in and everything was fighting, I have videos!!The sky drips with water (the place is two floors) below is Latin music and above is a band) well we were below and jets of water were dripping from above!!Besides, many people cant even dance because you bump into everyone even if you get a VIP.In short, I witnessed 4 fights in the same place in just 2 hours, yes, 4 fights!!!The last time the security arrived but they didnt do anything, the only thing was to take them outside and let them continue fighting and the police never came, inside and outside the place there were people fighting seriously, we didnt know where to run, it was horrible and very distressing.Please, if you go with your partner or alone, look for another place with more security and organization and not so ordinary, the only thing that is super super is the DJ, he does play good reggaeton, merenge or bachata. But even if they play good music I WILL NOT RETURN! This happened 11/13/2021Videos on yelp. Of the fights.
