The last time I came here I had a great time. It has been awhile. I came tonight after an early shift with a buddy of mine who said this establishment had a special on PBR for $3 last time he visited. That difference was I was actually paying. Not him. He waited at the bar for a female bartender that recognized his face from a previous experience. The first thing she said when he walked up was “oh, you’re here with your three dollars again?” Which I felt was extremely disrespectful as I am in the service industry myself. I will not be returning. This is a perfect example on how to NOT make money. Very disappointed 🙁

Best bar ever!!!!!! This bar truly captures the essence of a dive bar. You actually have to go down to reach the bar. It is nice price drinks and great music. I have been going here for years and even after the pandemic the prices barely change. You cannot get any better than this place with the drinks. This is the REAL dive bar.

I come down here about three times a year. Most of the time, Ive had a great experience, but last night I came by with some of my best friends. We sat down at a table in the corner. As soon as we sat down, I tried moving the light out of my face because the light was positioned directly at my eye. The female bartender with glasses came up to us and rudely exclaimed that we could not mess with the lights and that there was a drink minimum. For all of my years of coming here, Ive never heard of there being a drink minimum just to sit down. I was not even allowed to explain why I had moved the light. I ordered a round for my friends, and the drinks were okay. I felt as though she could have been kind; her attitude was completely unjust. She continued to be passively aggressive throughout the entire night, so we ended up leaving. To the lady, maybe you were having a bad day; maybe some circumstances outside of your job were affecting you. Hopefully, you have better days. To the male with a sick pompadour. Thank you for being kind.

I love the vibe of tanqueray. Its the only issue I have with it is that its smokey down there. Which borderlines stuffy. If have allergies do not go here. Other than that they usually have a live band with music playing and the service is good.

Tanqueray’s made me feel like a College Freshman again and living in this rat race we call life it wasn’t a bad thing. It’s an underground bar with daily live music and some reasonably price drink specials. It’s a cozy basement party kind of atmosphere where the lights are dim. If you look at my photos and videos everything inside is pretty much dark.There was one problem I had and it didn’t affect my review because I knew ahead of time...smoking is allowed in this establishment. It wasn’t bad at first but the later it got the more I began to worry about the 2nd hand smoke and that was about an hour before closing, and honestly if the band didn’t take a break, I probably wouldn’t have noticed the smoke, the band was that good. I’m going to be honest we walked out of there smelling like we smoked 20 packs of cigarettes but we walked out feeling happy and hungry on the hunt for food...just like those fun old college days.

A long tenured estaishment in Orlando; underground hole in the wall vibes. Intimate setting with two dart boards. But the real highlight here is they are the only bar in downtown Orlando that plays live music every single night of the week. With some great bands as well. Usually they post their monthly line up on Instagram for viewing. Definitely worth a visit. Warning, they dont serve food and they DO allow smoking. Nothing to extreme but it may bother some. Always amazing! It is a smoking friendly bar so be aware if youve got a sensitive nose or just not your style. By far the safest bar Ive been to since moving to the area. Love getting a taste of the local music scene here too!

Down some flight of stairs. Definition of a drive bar. Really strange older music - i put money in the jute box. And made request Because it was so bad. I think someone was requesting songs on phone. I liked playing darts. You need cash for darts. Bar tenders were nice. Bathrooms were ok. Very chill feel -drinks 7-10$

Tanquerays is the kind of bar that has a local feel to it, even though its in the heart of downtown Orlando. The location is prime, the music is always incredible, the bartenders and staff are a perfect fit, and the drinks, of course, are top notch.Its a staple and a must-visit bar.Warning: its intimate and smoky, the way a good basement bar should be.

No food. Just affordable drinks and live music. You can smoke cigarettes inside, and its underground. This place is a gem.

My husband loves dive bars so I joined him on a Friday for happy hour. The prices are so cheap at 50% off your bill! The bartenders are so nice! We went back later and I could not handle the smoke. So if you’re like me and are cool with dives but not the smoke, go early.

Its been a whilensince Ive been, but I used to live at this bar. Was there multiple times a week at one point in my life. The drinks are reapsnable, live music always on point, and staff is ridculously friendly.

Best place downtown, I choose 1-10$ bc it is that PER DRINK which is nothing, happy hour mon-fri 5-8p 1/2 off damn near everything, live music every night at 1030.... It is downstairs (underground) in a historic building so there are no elevators or ramps and it is still smoking allowed.

I don’t know that I’ve ever had a better time at a bar in my life - and I’ve spent a lot of time in bars all over the world. This place has a vibe all of its own, and it’s truly something special. The staff, the musicians, the other patrons - everything just fell into place and created an experience that I hope to capture again sometime. The intimacy of the room, the phenomenal quality of the music (last night it was Ancient Sun - I have no words to describe these guys), the smokiness, the lighting, the little nooks and crannies where sounds and smells gather - it’s all there.I’m begging you to go to this place and see live music. I will never forget this place, and if you go, neither will you. Thank you for giving me such an unexpected and amazing time here during my visit to Orlando. I live in CA and may come back just to go to this bar and see more live music. It’s honestly that good of a place.

Great local spot for a good drink and some group great live music

First time visiting Downtown Orlando, and this place was phenomenal! Such an amazing vibe and great musicians playing the night I went. The bar staff was attentive and very nice, and the building itself was such a cool spot. Definitely recommended to all my friends and I cant wait to stop by again, we spent the whole night here!

Strong pours, great mixed cocktail knowledge and bartenders. Live music every night at 10:30, always great music. They have a dart room and a couple other games. Basement bar, cigarettes allowed inside, but they have a nice filtration system that pulls the smoke out, so its usually not smokey. Happy hour is half off nearly everything from 5-8 Mon-Fri.

My favorite spot in downtown the only bad thing is the smoke of cigarette inside the bar everything else I like .

Favorite bar in Orlando!! The band and the energy there was absolutely amazing. Highly recommend to anyone passing through or living in Orlando. Good drinks for a great price and the bouncer is hilarious! Honestly can’t say enough about how awesome this place is!!

I consistently hear great music at this place and it keeps me coming back.I would give this place five stars as an overall rating because there isnt any other place like this in Orlando (decor service and atmosphere isnt what really make the place)

Visited the area on a Monday night and this was our first stop, after strolling around and seeing the other bars we decided to come back. Great atmosphere, felt more like Cheers than a night club which is an awesome feel these days.Our bartender Dave was the best, very nice and great conversation. They were following the protocols very well, in spite of the inebriated customers trying to balk it.I’ll be coming back every time I’m in town, it’s that good of a place.

Love this place. I try to go on Mondays with my girls after pole class. The live reggae band starts at 10 and bartenders are also cool. Only thing is they allow smoking inside which Im not a fan of wish they didnt have that...but Ill still go and some days its less smoky than others.

If you like dive bars, Tanquerays will seem akin to heaven. Its hard to find establishments that have withstood the test of time, but its easy to see why these guys have been around for over 30 years -- the oldest of any bar in Downtown Orlando. The history behind the location only adds to the marvel of the place. Youll be hard pressed to find drinks priced as reasonably as they are here in the downtown area.And as if all of that wasnt good enough, the happy hour (Monday to Friday from 5pm to 8pm) is one of if not the best Ive ever been to in the world. 50% off your bar tab? Seriously? Dont mind if I do. (Some restrictions apply)If you havent been here yet, please do yourself a favour and visit.

The absolute perfect spot for drinks. Bartenders Heath and Mitch are incredible and made strangers feel like regulars. Great vibe. Then the live music was incredible. Visited from out of town and cant wait to visit again.

Favorite happy hour down town by far. I go here every time I work downtown to have two drinks just because theyre so cheap, and well poured. The music is a nice mix of soft rock and then some, and later in the night they do live bands

If you want a chill spot with great live music you cant do better than Tanquerays. Been coming here for years and it never disappoints. If someone came from out of town and wanted to see downtown and I could only take them to one bar, it would hands down be Tanquerays all day every day.

Bar vibe is good over all. But bouncer told me I would never be allowed to return if I still had my temporary license. Im visiting from out of state and just visiting for my birthday this weekend. I have no control of when my plastic license card comes. Still waiting in the mail. For the most part, this place is nice.

Their live music acts are decent, but the sound quality is not great. The bar has a nice atmosphere, but gets incredibly crowded on weekends. Smoking is allowed inside.Drinks are reasonably priced.

To be one of only 5 maximum black patrons and to be flipped off for asking “excuse me” is a really daunting experience... Thankfully there are much more welcoming venues in the area… to the bearded bartender at the front of the bar, I hope you have a change of heart and are a better bartender in general. God bless.

Love these guys! The BEST bartenders right here. This place takes me back to NYC except you can SMOKE here!! Also- if you ran out of or lost your pack in your drunkeness? They SELL cigs, too! It is a great mixture of people & i want to say that theres always live music. The bands are ALWAYS great! Its my favorite bar in Orlando, hands down. Nothing else can compare to it. 💓

This location is kind of cool because it reminded me of a college basement party. This place is pretty small and cozy. Drinks are reasonably priced as well. The downside to that basement party feel is that all the smoke is stuck in down there. Whether you smoke or not you will come out smelling like you killed a pack or two.

Its nice, theres good music, the alcohol is fairly priced. Happy hour is great. If youre looking for a chill bar downtown this is the one. But if youre looking for a club type bar it probably wouldnt be.

The best music in town is always underground!!!This is one of my favorite places in Orlando. I am a musician and the bands that play here are the A-Team of Orlando musicians. The service is excellent and the atmosphere is intimate. If you love good drinks and great music, this should be your first stop. Live music 7 days a week from 10:30pm till 2am & the best Bartenders in Orlando!!!

Haven’t been in 15 years and my, how it has changed for the worse. The bartender made the worst old fashioned cocktails any of us ever tasted. When we asked for replacements he replied “ that’s how I was taught to make them, too bad” and refused to replace them. He seemed like a complete and total amateur. None of our group will return ever again. Lesson learned it has totally gone downhill

Love this place for so many reasons! The staff is awesome, the drinks are strong and reasonably priced, its smoking friendly, there is live music 7 days a week with some of the greatest local bands, and best of all it is in a basement!

Absolutely wonderful. I live downtown and this is now my happy hour bar. My tab is never over $10 and for the great quality to be had it literally feels like stealing. old world charm and southern hospitality.

Dans one if not the best bartender in town. Heavy drinks and daily half off happy hours (5-8pm). I would highly recommend this bar at any time of the day though as theres great live music daily, and a good atmosphere.

Love this place. I wouldnt recommend this place for families. Its definitely for adults. Its pretty cool because you have to go downstairs in order to get to the bar. And theres also live music on certain days. It is a small place and can get crowded but it also keeps it feeling a little bit more authentic and less commercial.

Super rad grunge bar, always have great local bands play (Monday reggae nights is where its at!). Most of the bartenders are super attentive to your thirsty needs and are down to earth. Ive been coming here about 2 yrs now from originally being random bar hopping venture night and its definitely one of my top watering holes to chillax after a hard day of work and long week.

First bar Ive been to thats in a basement. Spent a good 30 seconds trying to find it before I realized I was right on top of it and needed to look down. Great sound system, quality subwoofer. Intimate vibe, I liked being in the booth in the corner, felt private but could still see out over the bar.

I love the live music and the atmosphere every time I come here. But I cant ever stay long because the smoke in there is unbearable. There is zero ventilation, so 5 mins in and Im coughing like Ive been smoking for years.

If you are looking for a consistently authentic, dive bar/neighborhood bar with live music, cheap drinks, and patrons who are all gathered together to just enjoy their time, walk down the steps and in to this spot. Its unpolished, rough around the edges, light hearted, music filled, and FUN. I live in New Orleans part time and this is as close as I get to feeling the neighorhoody vibe there when I am back home in Orlando. Expect to smell smoke or be around smokers. And truthfully... its part of what makes this place, this place. Enjoy!

Really cool bar!! No food, but can get delivery anytime of night. The owner is actually a bartender that works there!! You dont see that much anymore. Great bands, and some great musicians might i add.

I wanted to enjoy myself because I’m new in Orlando. I have a service dog and unfortunately they were saying they couldn’t accept me. I always have my paper work on me just in case I deal with people like Heath make people like me feel different. I was discriminated even though I had valid documents. I showed him my service animals valid ID and still was kicked out. I simply wanted to have a good time. It is only 5pm. I should not have to be treated any different. That’s is discrimination. I will take this further. This is not at all okay.

Great doorman. Support the arts and live musicians here. Solid bar. Its usually not too loud, but you still may want to bring hearing protection for extended visits.

Jeremy is the man! Live music phenomenal , location is perfectly placed between great eating which you can bring back to the bar. Great mix of people making the crowd very diverse. Jeremy is great at his craft.

Sweet little hole in the wall, felt like back home a real true bar atmosphere and not clubby and wild. Watched some live music it was a great experience, Dead Mans Dub, The Strongbacks some quality grassroots Floridian reggae.

A bar worth checking out considering the heart of downtown and and Underground. One of the very few bars you could actually smoke inside and live free live shows every night with great selection of local music.

The entertainment is great, but the bar is very smoky. Drinks are reasonable and the waitresses are nice. They are very strict on age so you dont have to worry about immature drama.

Slick live music. They dont let a bad band play here. Staff can be rough around the edges from time to time. Great moody setting for the type of live music they have though.

A personal favorite of mine. Classic theme. Great live music. Friendly staff, excellent service every time. Reggae Monday is a big win for me.

The atmosphere is a bit questionable. Dark, cramped if too many people show up, but also feels warm and fuzzy like what I imagine a British pub would feel like. Drinks are strong. There is place for a band to play.

I like the atmosphere in here. Live music usually and the beers arent ridiculously priced. It does get crowded rather fast, so if you see some seats go for it!

The service and live music were great, but I couldnt handle all the smoke. I left with an awful smoke taste in my mouth and my hair and clothes smelled so badly after.I enjoyed the live music, but I wont be able to return because of the smoke.

This is the best jazz bar in the city. Smokey, crampt, with a full bar and the best live music in the city every night of the week. Its everything you want in a fun downtown dive bar.

One of my favorite places in town. A classic smoky juke joint set in a beautiful basement space. Some of the best local music in town and some of the best locals you could ever meet.

The music from Ancient Sun and The Company is the one true reason I go here! The atmosphere is very gritty blues which is something I hope never changes and if you want to sit down you definitely need to go early because it gets crowded fast.

Love this spot! Older crowd, strong drinks, live music on the weekend. There are some dart boards and your usual arcade games. Smoking is allowed.

This was my go-to place when I worked in downtown Orlando. I worked for places no longer there... Rookies on Pine, Church Street Station/Rosie OGradeys, and Jungle Jims. I cant wait to get back down to Orlando and check out the old stomping grounds.

You gotta tip. You’ve been sitting at the bar by yourself and that’s why he wasn’t serving you again is because you didn’t tip him”The bartenders demand tips or else they deny you service. They will ignore you and wont take any other drink orders and will even tell you to your face they will ignore you unless you tip.Feels like theyd even have you booted if you dont tip.I honestly just wanted one drink then decided i wanted a second one and I tip at the END of experiencing someones service. They mean mugged me into tipping anyway when I wanted to close out.I loved this place but I guess the people who work here arent as nice as I thought they were.

Best place for real music. Blues rock, electric jazz and mean funk. What I call seasoned road band music and not the typical local cover band attempting to replicate a jukebox. Sorry, local cover bands. They have a powerful filtration system constantly pulling up any exhaled smoke. More of what I have seen only looks like smoke as it is vapor from e-cigs and not real smoke. Sorry complaining disneyite brownshirt types, the two are not remotely similar, learn some science before going on your social engineering crusades.

Kinda underground place with friendly staff live bands and great tasting drinks! Very mixed crowd which makes you feel welcome as well as some interesting conversations!

Three for the drinks, send back Malibu coke as second did not taste like the first one, asked to remake gin tonic as it tasted as vodka, second one was identical so I asked to charge me for Tanqueray tonic and it tasted also too much alcohol but I guess their tonic water in the gun was out of tonic. Server and bartender was nice and attentive thou but the band was just ok “Oklahoma..” I will come back may be one day but definitely oder a a bottle beer.

The place was packed on a Thursday night and band was rocking with everyone super friendly and helpful staff - so I got the schedule and came again 2 more nights. Looking forward to it again soon when I get in town. Oh yes the birthday cupcakes for the band were great with a bottle of Bud! Music was avante garde first then drifted into Rock and Roll as other members joined the band.

First time Ive been to an underground bar. It amazing but the only thing is that its a smokers bar. I dont smoke. If there was no smoking inside it would be 5 Stars.

Wonderful atmosphere, good selection of beer and liqour, and a band tucked into a corner that sounded great. Would definitely go back!
