Food is good and fresh. The packaging could be a little better for the price you’re paying for.If you’re ordering delivery, receiving utensils and napkins to eat can be a hit or miss depending on if the restaurants feels like bagging it with the order.

Came for Sunday brunch with ladies for Bday celebration. Did the brunch and unlimited mimosas for $45. Drinks served not on ice in plastic (scratched to hell) glasses. Food was served in pieces and hella cold. Sent back 3times an still couldnt get it right. Ordered med steak which came well done in what looks like barley 2oz serving. Fries cold, eggs not correct, grits laden whit grease, tots burned. All brought out well after main dish. Pissed off and hungry. Waited damn near 2hrs for messed up

The place was nicely decorated and set the tone for the occasion. We came for Happy Hour. The drinks were well made, and we had spring rolls for appetizers, very good!I gave it 4 ⭐️’s, because the service was a little slow, but polite.Shakai is conveniently located in Downtown Orlando.

Most of the food was ok and that is giving it a lot of credit. However, the spicy tuna role tasted like they got the fish from the floor of the penguin exhibit at sea world. The worst was when I told the waitress I think the fish is bad her response was okay. ” then she cleared her plates and brought us the bill No apology or anything. I will never go here again. Dont think anyone else should either.

Celebrated a birthday dinner with 20 people. It was flawless from beginning to end. Great staff. I love that they made the birthday special. When the cake was brought out, they dimmed the restaurant lights when they brought the cake and really brought attention to the birthday boy. Really nice little touch. Highly recommend. Food and atmosphere was top notch!!

We just happened upon this restaurant. Honestly, by accident. We were having dinner before a performance of My Fair Lady. This was the Perfect accident. We ordered a sushi appetizer, some sushi rolls, and a bottle of wine. Everything we had was excellent. The service was great! I will definitely come back again. Forgive the photo of the app, we dug in before taking the picture. It was phenomenal (probably the best thing we ordered)!

We ordered the sumo steak with fried potatoes. What we recieved was a steak and French fries. My suggestion is to indicate what you are actually serving, in no way is fried potatoes supposed to be French fries. On top of that the fries were cold. I am not sure whos idea it was to make tempura asparagus, but it was a big disappointment. We also ordered the Teriyaki chicken, which was decent. But the temperature of the food was cold. Not sure if the food is already made and sitting there 🤔. It seems like everyone raves about the happy hour. I think you need to do better on your food game. I would put a hard pass on this restaurant.

I have come here a couple times and its sooooo good! And you really cannot beat their happy hour. I definitely recommend the coconut mojito and the spring rolls 🤤.

I have to say the rolls were absolutely minuscule. We did order take out, so it isn’t necessarily a surprise that they ended up smaller, but for the $41 I spent… eek. They were also very dry and lacked any real taste. It was like eating the same roll over and over even though we order 4 different kinds.

I came with a couple of friends for Brunch and the chicken and waffles were great. The staff was very nice, super cool brunch spot.

The food is fine. I have gotten their Chirachi lunch and Sashimi platter a few times, as well as their soups, and some of the rolls. Their bento boxes are also decent. However, the deducted stars come from service. I order online to pick up lunch to take back to the office. Online says ready in 20 minutes. I show up 30 minutes later, and its still not ready. Told to wait another 20-30 minutes. What? Oh, and this isnt a one-off gaffe... Its happened pretty much every time, to the extent that I now just go an hour after I place the order, in hopes that my food is ready.

I went there for brunch and it was fun.Food was pretty good and the waitress was very attentive.The DJs were playing basically the same kind of music the whole time.The place is so dark during brunch time. It’s like a very old restaurant/club.Lighting could’ve been better, music diversity could’ve been better.

You really cannot beat their happy hour. They opened at 5pm on Thursday so when we got there it wasnt too crowded. By six the place was pretty much full. Great sushi and appetizer options on the HH menu. Drink options were okay, and their tap water was pretty awful but I ordered pellegrino. Bill was only $70 for five rolls, two apps, and 6 drinks so thats a win. We did notice food service getting some what slower as they got more crowded but was a minor inconvenience. Bathrooms are small and can probably benefit from a deep cleaning.

This was the best sushi place in DT Orlando! Im a big advocate for supporting hidden gems in any city I stay in and coming back to Orlando, Im shocked by how affordable but high quality the food was here. There were a ton of options to choose from and the tuna, salmon, and yellowtail sashimi (my must have at any sushi restaurant) were very fresh. The eel and sweet shrimp were my favorite though, Id definitely come back for that. The service was incredible and so friendly. Our server Brian was knowledgeable and even recommended our party a sake to specifically pair with our sushi. We had such a wonderful experience, if youre ever in the Orlando area I highly recommend checking Shakai out!!!!!!!!

Wow. I looked this place up and thought it would be great to go with my wife before going to the Dr. Phillips Center... I couldnt have been more wrong. I could hear the music blasting from a block away. The smell of reefer was thick as southern gravy. The crowd of 8 people loudly talking and blocking the door could be described as urban outdoor gold teeth and unsavory. We left as fast as we could, and I cant imagine anyone going here dressed nicely and expecting a restaurant instead of a club scene. Also, this was 5 pm, not night time.

Sushi was really good. We went during happy hour. Our waitress Victoria was super nice and sweet. The decorations and vibe was really nice. We received our food rather quickly, and it was not a long wait. Parking is hard to find so we did pay $10 to park in the garage, but it’s okay.

Ordered a lot of sushi. Overall it was good. The only one I thought was amazing was the Rock and Roll sushi. Miso soup and crab rangoon were also good.

Was really excited to go to Shakai for the first time as a sushi lover but was so disappointed at the service. After paying $100 for the meal I was so frustrated about the entire experience. It wasn’t super busy but once we ordered we waited 20 min for appetizers - they were cold. The server said she was also bringing back sauces but didn’t, so we ate cold calamari with no sauce. Then every dish she brought to the table she sat in front of the wrong person. It was like she was just sitting things on our table with no regard. Then our food took over 30 min - it was 2 sushi rolls! There was no apology. The server got the soups wrong after our long wait and my daughter’s bowl of rice took forever….it was just rice. My friend ordered two shrimp appetizers and one was $5 more and the server said nothing about the up charge. It was simply one of the worst “service” experiences I’ve ever had and I eat out a lot. I felt like they literally had no focus on the dining experience. The food was 4 out of 10 but prob would have been better if the service had been better. Definitely not recommending this place to friends.

Sushi and drinks were delicious, they also have a happy hour with fantastic deals. Sushi/sashimi tasted fresh and the atmosphere was nice and cozy.

Always love coming here! We both got beef teriyaki - he hates veggies so he got double rice - but everything was so delicious! Highly recommend for anyone looking for a cool, off the beaten path, restaurant.

This was a badass Sushi Lounge. Their happy hour is amazing and they have a great full menu as well.I cam here with some friends and we did everything in our power to try and eat everything on the happy hour menu. We almost succeeded. It was the first time in a long time I had to tap out on my sushi devouring challenge. I was amazed on their vegetarian sushi roll options. There was the basic cucumber and avocado vegetarian roll options, but also some really really unique ones. I thoroughly enjoyed the ginger salad vegetarian roll, the tempura sweet potato roll, the vegetarian California roll without krab, and the daikon radish vegetarian roll. Each one was beautifully simple and delicious.They had amazing classic sushi and Sashimi selection as well. One could easily be overwhelmed by their large sushi menu, but I greatly enjoyed their thought process and complex combinations. Their Hawaiian sushi roll was a neat change, as well as their Mexican roll.They also had hot appetizers on their happy hour menu including teriyaki mushrooms, potato croquettes (which were really good), edamame, gyoza (steamed or fried), and vegetable tempura.Anyone can eat here an be happy. Doesnt matter if you are vegan, vegetarian, carnivore, or omnivore.They have a great Sake selection. They also offer sake Cocktails on the happy hour menu, as well as hot or cold Classic sakes. I was able to enjoy a hot Sake at the beginning and a cold sake towards the end of my meal.I highly recommend this sushi joint!!! I would happily come back here. Only major criticism I have is Parking is always a pain in the neck.Food is amazing, and drinks are good. Its a beautiful and clean restaurant.Make sure to stop by!

I always have a good time when I go to shakai lounge, it was my first time going to their happy hour and they did not disappoint. They had $5 apps and $5 rolls ! And the food was amazing they also offered happy hour drinks which was good too I recommend lychee martini, and when we got there it wasnt too packed so we didnt need to wait which was nicee ! Deff check it out if your looking for a good place to eat drink before hitting up the bars !

Great for company outings. We were in and out in a relatively timely manner, service was great, portions were big and worth the pricing, and the atmosphere was very relaxed

My favorite sushi bar in town and only 50 ft from my house. Happy Hour Sushi from 5pm to 7pm EVERY DAY. $4 wines... $4 & $6 sushi rolls and $4 appetizers. Try the steamed Gyoza and the Krab and Cucumber salad. Everything there is top-notch. Ive never eaten there when it was not Happy Hour but I know the prices are at least double after this time.

Visited for the 3rd time in a year last night. The hospitality has improved so much. The host greeted us warmly and took us to a table quickly. Our server was efficient, however she did not rush us. I’m happy they have focused on improving their hospitality to match the already excellent food, drinks and decor.

Been there twice, it’s really awesome, good service, the food is amazing! Happy hour is very cheap for that quality of food. Totally recommended!! Our favorites: dragon roll, rock and roll, Mexican roll and spring rolls for appetizer. 5 well-deserve stars ⭐️

Overall, this was a great experience! The vibe in the restaurant was warm and inviting. The servers were excellent and very attentive as we had a larger party on a busy weekend night. The food was tasty and came out quickly. My first complaint has to do with the restrooms as one of the doors for the women’s stall doesn’t/cannot lock until you shift/lift the entire door up. The bathroom was just very messy and unkept overall, but it was towards the busier end of the night so that could be why. Secondly, we did have a larger party but no one mentioned the autograt when it came to cashing out. That’s fine that it’s the restaurant’s policy plus the service was excellent, but remind/mention that to your guests of large parties before you cash them out. Before you pay, it shows the included gratuity and itemized list but after your card gets ran, you only see the total amount and the tip line. Overall, a solid pick for a bite to eat.

We visited to checkout the happy hour (5-7 most days I think) and could not have been happier with our choice. Sat at the bar and 2 staff members said hello immediately and asked if we had been in before. We said no, and so she gave us a rundown of the specials and some of her favorites. She even offered to have the chef make something for us as an app which was phenomenal (ended up being the yellowtail app which we loved). Kari was our main server at the bar, and I cannot say enough nice things about how excellent our service was. The sushi was great, the happy hour prices were awesome, and Kari and the other servers were the cherry on top. Absolutely awesome place to stop by in Downtown Orlando.

Some of the kindest staff members work here and really helped us as downtown food options were closing all around. I returned a second day during happy hour and loved the quality of the food, the prices and the great decor. I used to live in Orlando and live in LA now and its nice to return and see these kind of places here and thriving. Thank you

Best. Brunch. Ever. From the food, to the music, to the atmosphere/other patrons, I dont think I ever want to brunch anywhere else ever again. My friends and I had such a great time. Worth every penny. By the end of brunch it felt like the entire restaurant was there to party together and everyone just wanted to have a good timeBrunch does have certain Sunday hours (even though google says theyre closed). You have to register online and then text a number for confirmation. They also have a limited brunch menu but still worth it

Shakai never disappoints. Their sushi is always fresh and tastes amazing. Their happy hour which runs until 7 is probably the best sushi happy hour downtown. Bottle beer specials, $5 sushi rolls (which are all amazing), and more. Highly recommended.

Now. I will say this... What is going on with Orlando clubs... Every club is charging 20+ at the door and overcharging for drinks... Really?! Went to this place 1st time... Charged 17 for 1 drink vodka sprite well and the cup size was a Dixie cup... Really?! For that kind of money you can get a bottle of good vodka. These clubs buy in bulk and get discounts on their liquor. What makes your club do special to charge 20 at the door when there is a bunch of clubs with 3 square blocks from each other? The price of the drink is not only an insult but the size of the cup they give you. Unfuckingbelievable.

By far my favorite place for Sushi. I always feel fancy here yet very cozy at the same time. I Love LOVE the ambiance and beautiful decor here. Great place for a date. ;) If I may, I would suggest sitting on the same side of the table if on a date, not across..try it ;) it’s amazing!Oh, and be sure to wear your glasses, it’s very dim in there. This adds to the romantic appeal, in my opinion.Aside from the ambiance, sushi lovers will never be disappointed when dining here. I enjoy the dragon roll and spicy tuna roll but they have many favorites for everyone.And, of course fashion wise you can dress it up or, make it just a nice night on the town. However, this would be somewhere to wear your heels 👠 but take the height into consideration, most parking will not be close. You’ll be doing some walking.Enjoy!

Picked up lunch special 2 spicy tuna rolls and a salad. Got back to the office and it immediately smelled when I opened the container. Ate a piece and couldn’t stomach any more. Gave it away to a coworker and she couldn’t eat it either, even for free. Thought I’d at least have the salad for the $17 I paid, opened that and it is also rancid. Waste of money

Great sushi, atmosphere and service. Looks discrete from the outside but very nice inside with great bar and plenty of large tables. The only complaint was the edamame was not the best, but the sushi more than made up for it. Server was super helpful even though it was late.

I was invited to Shakai Sushi Lounge for a work lunch today. The restaurant is located in downtown Orlando. I really liked the restaurant atmosphere. The food was delicious and plenty. I ordered the Ume Bento Box. If you are in the area or not. Definitely worth checking it out.

The wine glasses were dirty and had particles floating in the drink. The food was good, but I would eat there again.

Really nice atmosphere. The sushi was great and the prices were awesome for happy hour. The green tea sangria was good but expensive for the amount you get. I would go back for sure.

We arrived several minutes before our reservation and were ignored. When they decided to acknowledge us they said we had to wait 20 minutes for a next table because we missed our reservation. The hostess was wrong and decided to be rude and indignant. Well never go here again! Management should take note to send the hostess to charm school. 0 out of five stars if I could give it.

Consistently good food and service here. This last time we had six people and everyone was happy with their food - even a sworn sushi hater found something she liked. Also really love the atmosphere. Truly unique.

Happy hour food is not worth the savings. The rolls were really small and it almost tasted like the rolls were pre-made, not fresh. Soda was flat as well. I would say for the waitress, she looked annoyed while taking our order.

This place was quick and a very nice date night atmosphere! My boyfriend had 3 rolls of sushi, which I tried the Volcano Roll and fell in love! We also loved the crab appetizer, perfect amount to get started and was quick to come out. My LOBSTER and FILET Dinner took a little while but it was well worth it! The Lobster was incredible! The FILET I had cooked medium, I would probably go with something a little less cooked next time with how the grill cooks the outside very crisp! If you like charred meat then medium is perfect! The plum wine was delicious also!! And we had the tempura cheese cake for desert, it was good but will probably try something else next time.

Amazing happy hour. Super fresh and fast sushi. Really loved the coconut one, sweet and salty. The appetisers are great and the staff was making suggestions and clearing our doubts. It’s a must try.

Not busy at all, and the waitress had an attitude and was not a good server. The food took forever, keeping in mind it was a limited brunch menu and there were many other employees who should have helped her run the food, so it took at least 5 minutes for our table to be fully served. Then, when we got the bill, the tip was included. No wonder she didnt care to do her job well. Will not return and will let ppl know it sucked.

As far as the food is concerned i have not had any complaints just yet. My only complaint is the service. I order my food to go, i was advised 15-20mins. Upon arrival 50mins later my food is still not ready and here i stand continuing to wait on my food. Mind you the establishment is not busy enough to begin to justify the long wait.

Wish I could give ZERO STARSWe were here a few days ago because some friends recommended us to come here. He raved about how good this place was so we gave it a try. Everything was fine but the waitress we had was horrible. She was rude and mean to us. We had questions because it was our first time and we didn’t know how things work and she just talked to us like we’re stupid. On top of that she added tip to all of our group. Wouldn’t recommend to my anyone. Beware of the waitress with blue hair

We walked all over Orlando looking for something good to eat that wasnt a bar or burgers! This by far was the best option with great food and excellent service. Tons of Sushi options. Keep it up.

The food was good, the service was good, the lighting is very dim. There was no toilet seat in the mens room. It was broken off and only the post remain. For the price points of this restaurant, to be missing a toilet seat is inexcusable.

Not a sushi fan but enjoyed the filet mignon, potatoes and asparagus. My friends ate several types of sushi and enjoyed it all.

Sunday Brunch: The DJ and vibes are great… but the service is awful. Some of the waitresses do a great job, others not so much. The kitchen is extremely slow. I’ve gone twice and the first time it took 4 hours to get our food. The management remembered us this next time we came in, and still took 3 hours to get served; new people we brought, also disappointed. If you’re only expecting champagne and music it would be great (except it’s mandatory to get the $50 starter, entre, and bottomless now per our visit today…) the price is fine…but the food is never delivered in a timely fashion. The food taste good… but it depends on your patience level.

Update: So now the server added a $10 to their tip which I didn’t authorize. Do not come here at all whatsoever.First and last time coming here. We happen to come during Happy Hour, which didn’t start off bad when I walked in. The drinks were not bad at all and the food wasn’t bad at all.The reason for the one star and the horrible experience was due to a roach happening to crawl up on our table and the manager did little to nothing to help alleviate the situation. We were only moved and told the area would be blocked off, however, patrons were still seated at or near the table. When I got the check, I found out that there were additional charges to other rolls that were okay meant to be added to one. I wouldn’t recommend to my friends

Love this place! I have been going here for many years. The atmosphere is wonderful. Service always fabulous. Food always outstanding! Best happy hour ever too! The selection and pricing is so great with amazing rolls and food.

Food: they have an extensive happy hour for sushi and other entrees. All of their food is very delicious and filling. Their Coconut Sushi and Volcano Roll are by far the best I have ever tasted. I always look forward to eating at this place.Service: our server was very attentive and friendly. She was able to provide great recommendations on drinks. She also made sure we had a clean eating area and kept removing dirty plates when necessary.Drinks: they have one of the best apple crisp saki and their beer selection is decent.Environment: the restaurant setting is quiet and elegant and perfect for a date night. The tables are pretty evenly spread out and the lighting is perfect. They also have great decorations and music. They are very clean as well.Overall I would definitely recommend this place and their amazing food!

Went there last weekend because a friend recommended the place. Food was OK but the main problem was the service. Service was so mean and when we ask the lady about a plate they serve, she told us straight that we can read the menu...... Also every time she went to the table it was like super mean for no particular reason. After we finished we also noticed that the TIP was included on the bill and Mandatory , and this is totally wrong and illegal. I will not recommend this place to anyone and will not be there ever again.

I have been going to this sushi joint over several years incl pre-COVID when traveling for business and out of location convenience. The service has turned into the pits. Twice now I have been refused service when arriving well before their official closing time, eg tonight Thu 9/28/23 just before 9 pm when the website clearly states 9.30 pm as for closing. I first told by a host that ”yes we are open” when I asked. I therefore sit down, and after a while another girl shows up and says ”we are now closed”. almost taunting me. I respond that I was just told to sit down and that the kitchen was open when I asked. The girl says nothing and brings back the host, who then says ”oh we decided to close early today”. Second time this happens is two too many. I shall avoid this place out of principle at all costs going forward, and you should too!

It is great time to spent on Shaikai on a Friday night. We missed happy hour because they are so busy and we were seated after 7pm. I will be there earlier if I went again. Staffs are friendly and polite, we were greated since we entered into restaurant to sit down. The food there is good, we had sashimi dinner and Rock and roll which are good for two persons. Fishes are fresh and price is cheap base on the quality.

You can’t beat their happy hour prices for the quality of vegan sushi you get!!! Sweet potato roll & fresh veggie are AMAZING!

Great sushi and ambiance at a great price!

Went for brunch this past Sunday the vibe was good Dj was good. But as far as the service, trash. We arrived on time, didn’t get seated til over an hour later because the guest before us came late. Once we got seated and ordered our food, it took forever for the food to come out. When were finally served our food we didn’t get the correct portion. Example, we ordered 6 wings and only received 4 because they ran out. Staff need to stay on track of time. If guest come later than the time that they booked, the staff need to inform them they still have to leave on time that way the other group can get seated. It makes no sense for our food to be coming out while the DJ is wrapping up and ending his session. Seems like only the morning brunch had a good time.

The sushi is good and the decor is unique and interesting. The server was friendly, and the food arrived quickly. Overall, good experience once I found a parking spot in that busy area.

This was my first time attending brunch on a Sunday at shakai. My reservation was at 3:30, but I waited until 4:15 to be seated. The hostess kept saying that my tables was being cleaned which was a lie. Once I sat down it was another 30 mins until a waitress showed up to take our orders. The waitress was very nice and I know at the moment many place are short staffed, but why overbook? Anyways once we sat down we waited an hour for our drinks and mind you we purchased a bottle. We placed our food orders and waited another hour for the food but I had to keep reminding the waitress about my food. When the food arrived to the table not only was is the wrong meal because I specifically ordered a T-bone steak and home-fries but what I got was a NY strip with French fries. Overall the experience was horrible and this place is so disorganized. Please don’t waste your money on Sunday brunch.

Me and my daughter went out for mother-daughter night this place is horrible, its way too small was definitely not my crowd way too young and no place to sit it definitely is not a place to go if you are trying to chill. if you want to stand around and look at other people not do anything or have bottle service in these little small cubicle sofa areas okay definitely go but me and my daughter wont be going back. Ill tell you that much and the staff leaves a lot to be desired especially the girl at the door she was extremely rude. We went out to have a good time and dance and relax and chill we didnt get to do any of that and we left within a half an hour again we will never be returning to that particular so-called club its not a club.

For the price it wasnt worth it. Cool vibes and pretty to sit in. Unless youre a big party you get pretty limited service. Service was fine unless our server got a big party then we got pretty much ignored after. No drink fills and the food wasnt anything special. Pass for next time.

Music, food and brunch is good. But had a horrible experience with security. Very unprofessional and wanted to cause an issue with me and my party over something very trivial and unnecessary. Completely made it a negative experience when all we wanted was to leave the establishment on a good note. The security guard was literally cursing at us as we were trying to leave and put his hands on a young woman that is half his size. Completely uncalled for and his behavior needs to be address immediately. Only thing I appreciate is that the GM on duty was willing to help me figure out the situation so I applaud her for the assistance.

Great variety and diversity of sushi dinners and cocktails. Moderately busy but energetic atmosphere. Great location for small and large groups. They have great happy hour prices. My favorite place in the Orlando downtown district. .

Found this while walking around deciding where to eat lunch. The food was fast, the service was good. The flavor was great and I cant wait to go back. It was the best mushrooms ever and I had katsu!

Absolutely delicious, fresh, and excellent service. Might be the best sushi I’ve ever had. We had two appetizers and they were great as well. Highly recommend! Shout out to our helpful waiter, Jay.

Food was great but our server Brian sucked!! He took for ever to take our order. Didnt fill our glasses water when they were empty. Didnt say one word to our table but, the table right next to us he was laughing and giggling. When we got out check it took him 20 mins to came back and pick it up. After he went past us 3 times to the table next to us. We have been here plenty of times and this was by far our WORST service experience.

If you just want somewhere to vibe? Definitely. Don’t except professionalism. Whoever is on the board for The Sunday brunch needs to go back to the drawing table. There’s no excuse as to why I arrived at my reservation time (3:30) but was seated an hour later ( 4:32pm) ordered food and food arrived 6:29pm and was incorrect and they shorted everyone on their wings as if they ran out. Everyone got 4 wings instead of 6. French toast would’ve been decent if out of the 2 you got wasn’t burnt! Overall wouldn’t recommend, they’re clearly understaffed and not fully prepared for large crowds. If the chef back there cooking on a hot plate & a microwave just say that!I’d recommend coming to America brunch over and over again instead of here.

Fantastic experience at Shakai Sushi Lounge. Friendly, and comfortable atmosphere, paired with top quality sushi makes for an excellent experience! Owen, the owner is a subject matter expert in whats on their menu, as well as in his craft. I would give six stars if it were possible. You will not be disappointed.

First I want to start out and say this place is so amazing. The food never disappoints. Secondly, the waiters and waitresses are very kind and helpful (for the indecisive people) ((me)) and lastly the atmosphere inside is so calm even when its a bit loud, itll feel so much nicer than other places. Great Happy hour 5-7 daily. $3 rolls and appetizers, $5 signature rolls, $2 beer. Bartenders are always friendly and service is great. Definitely a nice happy hour sushi spot. They also have a full kitchen menu with Yaki Soba, rice dishes, steak, and lobster.

I love, LOVE Shakais Happy Hour! 2.00$ - 3.00$ appetizers with 2.00$ beers, yummy sushi and a great tempura. Try their croquettes, theyre a breaded potato appetizer served with a yummy dark sauce on the side. Their regular menu has a good selection of specialty rolls and entrées as well. Lastly, the staff is SO nice! Give it a try 5-7PM on happy hour :)

All of it!We enjoyed the beef gyoza fried which was super tasty and comes in a serving size of 5 per order.The miso soup could have used a bit more tofu but had great flavor.Sashimi was excellent as well as several specialty rolls.The lava cake with ice cream had the perfect amount of fruit drizzle and was a great top of to the meal.The BadThe only downsides on this visit was that we had slow service from the beginning when no one was there to greet us(3-4 minute wait) and then after we got sat it was prob 10 minutes before a server made it to the table. The happy hour specials are fantastic, we ordered multiple rolls all delicious and $5 or less. The teriyaki mushrooms were tasty, and they special made us an order with no sesame seeds for our friend who cant have them. Also the $5 sake carafe was pretty good and big enough for our party of 4. Our server was nice and brought us a giant wad of extra wasabi when we asked. Will definitely be back for more!

Its a great looking place! Great location and the decor is absolutely beautiful! The problem is in the service, it is slow. The biggest problem is in the quality of the food. The ingredients didnt taste as fresh as advertised and you can tell that the chicken and seafood is frozen garbage.

Their happy hour specials cant be beat. Our favorite place for sushi in Orlando. Make sure you get the Mango Madness & the Rock n Roll. Service tends to be on the slower side, but they are almost always busy and the food is worth the wait!

This place has great happy hour deals! These deals included rolls for $3 or $5 off a pre-selected list. Additionally, there were also appetizers and alcoholic beverages included within the happy hour deals. Sushi and sashimi were both very good. Wouldnt say its the best sushi Ive ever had, but definitely was above average. The place also has a nice ambience to it.Would recommend this place!

They have wide selection oflo good food. I generally order the shrimp tempura. But on occasion I ask them to surprise me from the sushi bar and its been great. Its a chance to try something new and exotic. Others have many other things and they have all liked and or loved it. All in all you cant go wrong.

Really cool place. Definitely a favorite. Some of the best sushi around. The staff, however, constantly seem like youre bothering them. Also, call ahead. Website says it closes at 10 but have been twice turned away at 9.

This is a great little Reggae/Soca hangout spot for the weekend.

Pretty decent sushi, and really nice atmosphere. For some reason most of the specialty rolls are heavily imitation krab-based which was a bit disappointing, but they were otherwise creative and very tasty. Would have liked to see more fish in the specialty rolls.

Very clean, very pretty inside, food came out fast and was decent. I am giving it a 3 because I was disappointed with the service. The waitress was friendly but I felt very rushed. She took orders from some people then walked away and then came back. The entrees came out before others, not all together people were done eating their entrees before others even received theirs. I was there to celebrate my birthday I wasnt even asked if I wanted desert which i was planning on ordering but didnt have the chance to because my check was handed to me before I could even say anything. We had a party of 7 so tip was automatically added I had change that was due back to me (granted it was like .72 cents but its the principle) she didnt even bother bringing my change back she kept it and didnt even come back to the table. I wont be visiting again.

My wife and I really enjoy this place, it was so much fun for us. The staff was fantastic our waiter make sure that we had everything we needed and checked in every 10 minutes or so. Worth every penny!

The best sushi spot in Orlando!

Went there towards the tail end of happy hour. They had some good drink specials as well as appetizers. Sushi selection was great and all the speciality rolls we tried were delicious. Staff was attentive and friendly.

Sushi was not great. Very little in the way of ingredients present in each roll besides huge chunks of cucumber. Rice practically fell apart bc it was so sticky the rolls didnt want to separate. Also nobody came to greet us at our table for an extended period of time. Were going to go somewhere else next time. The best thing about this place is the decor.

Great place visit especially during Happy Hour sushi and appetizers are priced at either $3 or $5. The dumplings are some of the best I have ever had, definitely fried not steamed.

Possibly the best sushi I’ve ever had..came during happy hour and tried a few rolls and also some sashimi. The sashimi was SO fresh, we had to order seconds! Our server was friendly and attentive as well, thanks Jay!

The Happy Hour is so great the have it even on Saturdays! $3 beers and $5 menu. The Sushi is great, also love the appetizers spring rolls, teriyaki mushrooms and the fried Gyoza are my personal favorites.

Uber won’t help because they’re just delivery, but the food that was just delivered to me was basically inedible. Incredibly salty, super fishy, tasted inedible. Super disappointed

Went during happy hour to get a table to myself. The host spent over 5 minutes making calls in the hallway. When about 5 parties were in line after me he came up and tried to go to the largest groups to seat them and I had to point out I was waiting first and significantly longer than others. He finally acknowledged me and said they had no room for a single and did not offer any solutions such as waiting or to go options. Was very determined to get through the line of people they had showing up over the 5 minutes no one was going. I assume the several groups of couples behind me were more important as there were more than one 2 personWell tell my friends to take their business elsewhere as I waited a significant time to be turned away without more than 10 seconds of staff time. Closest sushi to me but by no means the only downtown. Next!

This place is great! THE HAPPY HOUR MENU IS WHERE ITS AT! Really good sushi and apps at great prices. We love the KFC and crunch rolls. Mushroom app and spring rolls a must, as is saki!! We drive from the coast to do their happy hour! We love this place and bet you will too!! Yum!

My first time here for their happy hour menu, it was not bad. I was a little upset about majority of it being raw. The staff is professional and nice. The food was really good.

This hidden gem is our go to weekly sushi happy hour hangout, you absolutely can not beat this place. You are still going to spend some money for dinner because you wont be able to stop ordering their delicious rolls and nigiri.

I usually rate this place a 5 Star but Monday’s visit was a little disappointing. The veggie rolls took a lot longer than the other rolls and the portion was smaller than the others which didn’t make sense to me. My water didn’t get filled as often as I would have liked.

I love that they have numerous options for vegetarians in your party. I ordered the Basil Dish with brown rice and tofu. It was amazing, although I would like the tofu cooked crispier. I tried my friends chicken dish and it was crispy and yummy.

Went at night for the club scene. Cover was $20 (place next door was free and had drink specials), the outside was extremely unorganized and all over the place and the music system was wonky (speakers would go in ant out randomly). The scene was good tho as were the bartenders and djs.

Food is good. Waitress sucked. She seemed to get an attitude when we wanted to sit at a different table. Hopefully she won’t be there the next time if we ever return.

Security guard was so inappropriate! My friends and I went and she accidentally left her taser in her purse. She left it up front with security and he refused to give it back and tried to extort us for money to give it back. He became aggressive and shoved her. He cursed at us and we felt very uncomfortable. I’ve never had such a weird experience and will not ever go back and advise other women to proceed with caution!

Definatelly not a Japanese sushi place. And most of the purist may take issue with the many creative rolls in their menu all of which are good if you are open to new experiences. Very interesting wood decoration, and lighting provides for an amazing atmosphere.

Ive been going to Shakai (formerly known as Ichiban) for nearly 15 years - the food is consistently amazing, great service, and a really hip-but-relaxed atmosphere. I strongly recommend eating here.

Everything was overcooked, the duck was way too salty and they claimed stuff was gluten free and it WAS NOT! I am now at home, sick, instead of out with my friends. Completely unreasonable that a restaurant today cannot manage gluten free, especially when they claim to have gluten free soy sauce. If I hadnt had my Gluten Cutter I wouldve been throwing up on the side of 408.

Good place. They have an amazing happy hour. Its starts at 5. My wife and I went and ate really good with some adult beverage and didnt even break $50.

I love coming here for happy hour. They have a very great selection at very reasonable prices, especially considering youre in downtown. Ive been to other sushi restaurants in downtown Orlando and Shakai is by far the best one.

The only thing keeping this from 5 stars was the service, the waiter was extremely rude and kept forgetting a lot of what we ordered and had to be reminded several times. We all felt extremely rushed. The food was great and so fresh tasting. The service needs work.

The dishes came out super fast & tasted great (except for one bad set of sashimi) but the chef offered us a replacement. The price difference between Hh & regular is definitely noticeable, though.

Staff is rude, becomes a Latin club at night which is great but its services are terrible, honestly did not enjoy coming here. Got kicked from being next to the bar, got kicked from a small table because it got sold that wasnt even VIP. Its just terrible

The sushi here is delicious! Definitely worth giving a try. I had the NY steak roll, crab ragoon and Tuna roll, the crab ragoon was some of the best I have ever had. If youre in search for some delicious sushi dont hesitate to visit Shakai.

Ordered dumplings, sushi, and a lava cake to go from here and the food was straight out bad. Dumplings were a soggy mess and the sushi lacked flavor. They also forgot the ice cream that was supposed to go with the lava cake 😑Skip this place. It’s a tourist trap

Lovely atmosphere with delicious food. A number of vegetarian options. The servers are wonderful and remember my order with me just telling them my name over the phone. Prompt service.

Spring roll, Orlando Roll, Dragon Roll and Captain Crunch Roll. All delish. Easy access with a downtown location. 2 of us ate the above with 2 beers and water for 35$ with tip! Easy pick. You wont be disappointed.

Every piece of susji was a different size amd very sloppy put together. Kept falling apart. Had no taste. Ordered crab salad It was 4 pieces of creb With cucumbers. Blah taste. Very bland. No seasoning. They sureley charge though like they give good food. If u know ur sushi, I definitely do not recommend. Typical city place who make money off of atmosphere amd people fall. into that trap. Give that trendy vibe.

A friend and I came after catching a show at Phillips center. It was only a quick two minute walk from there and the food was to die for. Plenty of old favorites as well as some new unique options that I got to try. Would definitely love to go back

Good lunch spot. Clean, friendly, and a wide selection of items. They were out of beef which was odd but I was getting chicken so it didnt bother me.

My wife and I met some friends here for dinner one night and it was ok. I say ok because we went during happy hour and the sushi was decently priced but the quality was not as good as I would have expected from the upscale feel of this spot.

The African American heavy set security guard with the gold colored fade was EXREMELY unprofessional. My friend left her taser with him at the door in hopes of having it returned at the end of the night but that wasn’t the case. Instead of giving her the property back , he insisted on having her pay for her to retrieve her taser then continued to verbally harass and push her out the establishment. This invidual needs to not only lose his job but have this be brought up with the proper authorities as he physically put his hands on her.

The lady named ANESTI that works there was very unprofessional. Very rude. Very uptight. I love this place but she made my experience HORRIBLE and will never come back until she is no longer working there.
