I have been going to Coco Blue since 2012. My sister took me one day to the location in Admore as a birthday gift. She told me I would love the service. I was so nervous because I’m picky about who does my services such and hair and nails. Well, let’s just say my sister was telling the truth.I really don’t no where to start. When I came into the salon. It was clean from front to back and ceiling to floor. There was nothing out of place with ambience. It was so relaxing to be in an establishment that cared about what they love to do and how the customers feel about their services.Fast forward to this present day. I now go to the newest location in Olde City. Once again I was nervous to go because I was used to my nail technican in Admore. However, the Olde City location is even better. I love the cleanliness of the establishment and how they greet you.I started off getting regular polish and upgraded to getting gel. I recently got a Korean gel polish which I recommend if you like to have longevity for your nails. My nails do not chip or break. The job I have and the things I do on a regular work well with the Korean gel polish. I’m sooooooo satisfied with the service every time I come. They offer you beverages such as water, juice, tea, hot cocoa, soda, wine, slushy, or rum slushy. The massages that go with the mani and pedi are so soothing. These ladies and gentlemen really know how to use their hands to get all the stress and tension out of your sore or overworks muscles in your body. There are nail specials posted outside the business if you looking for something on a budget. If you pay in cash, you get a discount too. This is a GREAT DEAL. I do not know of any other nail salon that provides this offer. There is also a coco blue card that you can get stamped for your services. When the card is fully stamped than you will receive a special officerI recommend this business. This place is a 100/10. I have been to other places but Coco Blue will always be the #1 rated nail salon for me.The owner is the sweetest, nicest, respectful, professional, and loving business woman I know. I love you Coco.Thank you for always being you. 💚💚💚
Just had a very pleasant morning here getting gel mani/ pedi. Walked past a few salons in the area, liked the look of this one best. Bright inside and spotless but still calm and relaxing. Very nice people, very efficient.
I have been going to Coco Blue since they opened in Old City. I have been to every salon in the neighborhood, and it is by far the best. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Coco is always has the most cutting edge techniques and polishes - it is the only place I know of that has the Japanese syrup gel, which lasts so much longer than other gels! I would highly recommend Coco Blue to anyone looking for amazing service.
Ive been here several times, usually with a great experience. Yesterday the young lady took a chunk out of my eyebrow. Unfortunately, this is not fixable. Be cautious who you back to the waxing room with.
I’ve been coming here for years! The quality of the gel manicure is better than other salons that I’ve tried and lasts longer! I’ve used several technicians and they are all good.
I have been going here for almost two years. I get Ped and Mani, along with foot and hand massage. Kevin is incredible. Absolutely the best I have found in Philadelphia. Prices are good so I tip very well.
Got a pedi at this place. After my service the owner asked me for a tip. After telling her I wanted to tip $5 she got a nasty attitude stating that people usually tip more than that and that it is mandatory. She then proceeded to tell me that it’s how her full staff of non English speaking Hispanic women get paid. It’s disgusting to rely on customers to pay your workers a livable wage. Her attitude was gross. If a tipping above 20% is mandatory then it should be included in service pricing or written in big bold letters on the door to see before being serviced. I’ve never been to a place where the owner was so rude and the workers are clearly underpaid.
People are nice, nice clean space, but literally have only had my acrylics for a week and two nails broke so easily.
I went to get a mani pedi and paid the service and tipped very well. I get a call inquiring about what serviced i got 3 days after and was not able to understand what the call was for. The lady hung up on me 3 times as i was trying to get an understanding of the call.Second time i received bad service The first time i got a 45$ hot stone and they charged me 100$ pedi that I didn’t order. I explained what i order and was told that they needed to view the footage. They call back and told me they made a mistake but never received any compensation.I dont like being hanged up on for it not my fault. Will not be going back to this place!!
I really like Coco Blue. I always call to make an appointment with Inés. A very relaxing atmosphere and I have never had any problems, much less have I been asked for a tip. And it is also cheaper than many of those around. oh
Theres a reason this is the only salon in the area that has day-of availability and walk ins. The quality is horrible and their services are overpriced. The pedicure is standard, fine. Nothing special for the $35 price. I have been coming here because its convenient but I will not be back. This place is unsanitary, not all of the techs wear gloves, and their solution to breaking skin and gashing cuticles is to use their own nails to dig into the open cut to try to stop it from bleeding. Then they ignore the cuts and open wounds and pretend to not see them anymore. This place is a complete rip off do not waste your time I promise you will leave unhappy.
I am extremely disappointed. My nail broke and due to my normal nail tech being away to visit family, I went to Coco Blue in Old City. I told them I what I was looking for and they began to work. I am not sure if the tech who was working with me was new, but she did not seem to know what she was doing and appeared to be closely monitored. She took a very long time to take off my dip. My normal nail tech takes me dip off in about 15 minutes and this tech took twice that long, if not longer. She then began to put new dip on and everything was going fine until she was putting the final clear coat on. The nail polish left bubbles and she did nothing to fix it. When I asked her to fix it, she attempted to by using cuticles cutters to removed the bubbles, which did nothing, and decided to leave them there. Once I left I started to look at my nails more closely and I found more bubbles and the dip to be blotchy. This place is also so unnecessary expensive. I paid $62 for a dip manicure no design, one color. The price was raised $7 for ONE tip due to my nail breaking. Maybe to you this isn’t expensive but I get a dip manicure with hand drawn designs (which includes taking it off the previous dip and putting on a tip if needed) for $55, so you are going to the wrong place if you are coming here.
I just moved to the city and I wanted to treat myself to a pedicure. Coco Blue Nail and Spa happened to be right down the street! It was very nice inside and the woman who performed my pedi was very good and listened to my requests. I got the $45 hot stone pedi because…why not? Treat yo’ self! I believe the woman’s name was Inez. She even showed me the timer with 10 minutes on it when she began my lotion/stone massage. I am docking a star because the workers started cleaning at about 6:30pm, when they closed at 7:30pm. I do not have a problem with them cleaning because it was a Friday night and who wants to stay late??? BUT after sweeping, the workers mopped the floor with a very strong substance. It gave me a headache when my nails were drying. I will be back again though, just not so close to close!
Pros: I enjoyed the pedicure and the price of a normal spa pedicure is reasonable for the area.Cons: Actual value is not great-- massage times are short, attention to detail is lacking. A manicure (with no polish) was $25 and the add-on cost for gel polish was absurd.Biggest Con: Youre gonna get tip-shamed (and if you dont have cash you will be forced to use the ATM because you cant put a tip on your card). I put down a $10 tip for my $70 pedicure (15%, which is standard, right??) and the pedicurist said Um, your service was $70... this is only 10%. Most people leave at least 20%. There were other staff members standing around staring so I proceeded to leave another $4 and walked out without a Thanks from the pedicurist.Ive been to CoCo Blue once before this and didnt experience this but, unfortunately, this left a really bad taste in my mouth. This nail spa is super close to my apartment but Ill be finding a new place to go because of this encounter.
Fantastic service, so friendly and accommodating. best nail place in old city
I brought my daughter there so she can get pampered for her birthday! It definitely made her day! They did an excellent job on her mani-pedi, and it felt like a mini-spa experience. Her older sister tagged along and normally does not like nail salons, but it was her best experience doing her nails. The staff was so friendly and did everything to make us feel comfortable. I was just waiting, but they offered me snacks and drinks too! The salon is clean and well-kept. I would definitely recommend!!!
I’ve tried to give Coco Blue a shot a few times. The first few times the gel manicures chipped in 2 or 3 days. The last time, I made an appointment for a pedicure, checked in on time, and was ignored for 25 minutes even though they knew I was waiting for an appointment. No acknowledgement or anything. I’ve given this place a few shots because I really wanted them to be good, but it’s just not worth the time.
My nail tech did a fantastic job with my toes and actually helped push back my cuticles which I love. Many techs will just paint around them but it leaves a weird nail shape and immediately looks grown out, so I much preferred this style. The shop is clean and comfortable and easily accomadated 3 pedicurea
I went with my daughter to have our pedi and manicure done, they really take care of us, so kind and professional. The place is clean and beautiful.
Sarah was AMAZING!! The best pedicure I’ve ever had. The facility is nice, clean, relaxing. I chose a classic pedicure $30 & she went above & beyond giving me 2 mimosas & paraffin treatment & back massage. On top of the leg/foot massage & hot stone massage & chair massage. Well worth every penny! What a deal! Better service deserves better tips & her friendly conversation make me feel very welcomed & I will definitely come back again!
Lovely nail and wax spa. They have a classy jazz ambiance. The staff is very friendly. They offer a variety of services and their prices are great! An appointment is best. They do have a one step entrance, I would call ahead to see if they have a ramp for handicap access.Thank you for the excellent pampering 💅🦶✨
DONT GO THERE IF YOU NEED A PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE!I had to write this review a week after taking manicure. I live in Jersey and been to Philly for some work, thought of getting pampered and walked into this place. They offer you a complementary drink and a massage at the end. But they totally fail on the main job they had to do right, which is applying nail paint. Duh!!!I had gel on my nails previously, and went there to remove it and go for a new shade. The lady who took care of me, didnt do it well.Below are the issues I faced.1) She couldnt understand or respond back to me cos she couldnt speak English.2) She broke one of my nail while filing.3) She left the corner of my nails uncleaned after applying gel, so as it grows the paint peals out at the end, it hurts and pokes and its not even a week it priks my clothes and started pealing off already. It is that bad!4) She charged me an extra $10 for doing 2 colors.5) And at the end I had to pay tip even though I dint like the overall experience. My $45+$5(tip) dint last for 10days.Please employee some professionals so people like me should never get fooled again.End of the day its not the money, but the service we look for!
I am a regular weekly customer at this place and I am extremely respectful and tip well each person. I am scheduled with Sarah I believe her name is and I would highly not recommend going to her. She is extremely disrespectful, unprofessional, and rude. My pedicure was 40 dollars and my manicure was 35. I had given them both 20% tip and sarah laughs in front of doing another customer and says this isnt 20%. I said yes it is I just did the calculation between both of you. She makes the salon look horrible by saying something like that in front of other customers. And its amazing that I even gave her a tip she is the worst nail tech there so she should consider her self lucky for 15%. I spoke to manager in a very calm way and she said nothing and then I called her and she said she is too busy to talk to me trying to get me off the phone. Thats not how you handle customers disappointed. So they wont have my business anymore. There was 2 people in the salon and your too busy to admit your nail techs are at fault. Absolutely weak minded
I just had the best Mani/Pedi with Anna! I would highly recommend. I left feeling so refreshed. She took her time and made me feel so relaxed. She did a great job, exactly what I wanted. Will definitely be coming back!
I rated this salon a 3 star because even though I liked the atmosphere and the customer service they gave at first I was highly upset by the fact they acted as if they couldn’t understand me also the fact that they obligated a 20 % tip on each service I got . Which was a gel mani pedi and I paid over a 100+ for that alone and then 20% to each service that’s ridiculous first time there n I sadly won’t be back! I always tip but to tip on each thing I got done eyebrows nails n feet that’s crazy
I am really sorry for writing this, but I have been to this place a couple times in which I had ok experiences. It rarely gives you a good-looking manicure. However, today’s experience was awful. She gave me 10 different nail shapes, no hand lotion, nothing. I still have my cuticles, and am very upset. I’ll stop going to this place. Although it is a beautiful salon with lots of polish options, I don’t think they have many professionals.
Location and deco are good. Tons of colors to pick. However, i had a couple of problems: I got a painful burn from the eyebrow waxing. The scars remained a week or so. My nails started chipping after 5 days and it was gel manicure. And lastly I was charged twice from the same service. It was overall disappointing.
I came in to get a gel manicure and pedicure today and not only was I there for 2 hours but I was rushed out with gel nails that looked like my 4 year old niece painted. I have nail polish all over my skin and cuticles and every nail is a different shade of the color I picked because some nails received two coats and some received four. I even had the person doing my nails tell me that she had to redo 3 of my nails because they were bad instead of just asking someone else to do my nails. After spending 1 hour and 15 minutes just on my manicure I have to say I am very very disappointed with the turn out. I have no complaints when it comes to the pedicure.
Excellent 30 minute chair massage! They even accommodated my last minute request. I feel So Much Better (per neck and shoulder pain from stress and headbanging at a 4 hour metal concert! Brava!
I am very happy with my experience with Nerly. She does an excellent manicure and pedicure. I was, however, very unhappy with my gel manicures with other technicians there. In both cases, the gel peeled off in a couple of days. Ive never had that experience anywhere else. Perhaps its the gel products they are using.
Thank you so much for a fabulous syrup gel mani!!
By far the WORST service I received. Not only are they over priced but I had an issue with the polish where is messed up when I got home. I called the next day and one of the technicians said to come in and they would fix it she told me she would do it in gel so it won’t mess up again for free! Again the technician told me to come in and she would fix it!I had a flight out of the country so that made sense because I had to leave right after to head the airport. I get here and no one knows what I’m talking about I spoke to the owner and they repeatedly belittled me and told me that was My problem. I will NEVER EVER EVER EVER come here again.
Very clean and affordable manicures and pedicures. Beautiful salon. Love this place. I only gave 4 stars bc the girl I had wasnt the friendliest and they are promoting 10-15% off of their services and didnt really explain the extent of that to me. I walked in talked to the owner and I said ur still doing 10-15% off right? She said yes, that was it. At the end of my appointment the girl who did my pedicure said no, only if u write a review on google or yelp then show us. And I said no, thats not what the other girl said (the owner). And she said thats what we do.. and I said thats not what ur sign says. So that irritated me a lot bc its false promotion. And I hate writing reviews but just thought Id give ppl the heads up. You should probably tell your customers in advance this promotion and tell ppl u only take cash gratuity.
For such a beautiful nail salon they are not very smart. I called at 12pm to make 2 appointments for 5:45pm (which I figured may have been pointless b/c most nail salons just say yes to whoever) I walked in at 5:38pm...the girl didnt speak English...no one really greets you. She pointed to the book and said sign. I was like ok I made 2 appointments for me and my sister. They ended up not seeing us and seated walk ins that came after us. I said are we going to be seen b/c if not were going to leave? no one responded so we walked out. VERY ANNOYED. Second bad experience here so I wont be coming back. Such a shame.
Addressed my needs for pedicures and gel manicure. Also giving care with my sensitive skin. Love the massages as part of services
Was SO excited to see this beautiful salon open just down the street from me. I will be returning again and again! Had a lovely mani/pedi, complete with massage and a complementary mimosa. Such a relaxing, clean, bright experience. Will definitely be coming back A LOT!
Started going when they opened. Loved the atmosphere. Paint job was hit or miss. If you get bad service, they still expect a 20% tip and will harass you if you refuse. Used to spend $200 a month there. They’ll never see a cent of my money ever again.
Excellent service in a clean and modern looking salon. Regular pedicure comes with hot stone keg massage. They also offer you a drink while you get your pedi including option for wine or mimosa!
Had a great experience with manicure, pedicure, and hot stone massage in a relaxing environment with a very professional and patient team.
So happy Coco Blue opened in old city. The place is beautiful and clean! Everyone is so nice! I took my 2 daughters and we all got mani/pedi. Will definitely be a regular! ❤️
Nice clean place, great pedicure and nail art design! Natalie was great! They offered cocktails and gave a relaxing experience.
They always do a great job on my nails. I like that they offer you a menu to read and are very straight forward with any price increases.
Second time to COCO Blue since they opened. Absolutely love it. Got a gel manicure with Cici that turned out perfect. Definitely coming back soon.
Under new management, much improved. Always able to accommodate walk-ins and last minute appointments.
Great nail salon. Very clean and sweet staff. Very accommodating!! Follows Covid-19 rules & regs. Highly recommend this place, very knowledgeable and professional!!
They have the perfect colors, they put in the extra work to get my nails looking great.
Had a wonderful manicure by sweet Clara! Amazing selection of polishes. My manicure looks great!
Ive been coming here for over a year and I have never had a negative experience. The staff is friendly, efficient and very talented. Highly recommend!
So far - totally wonderful! Beautiful space! Comfy massage pedicure chair, friendly staff and a mimosa!!
Excellent!!! Fabulous service as always
Clean, professional, great selection of nail polish and they offer complimentary beverages! Great experience!
They let me utilize the massage chairs while my daughter gets a mani-pedi. Enough said
Best gel manicure I have gotten in the city! Fast too.
Really beautiful salon, but so expensive. You can get better services one block over for half the price.
My nails always seem to last longer when I go here!
Do not recommend for acrylic nails.
