We love the layout of this place. You can go wherever you want to and have privacy or just enjoy the view with others. The food is mouth watering and came out in no time! DJ is on point and knows how to work the crowd. Gorgeous views and comfortable seating everywhere!

This is only for DJ/dance nights.I dont drink so cant comment on that.The vibe is cool. It would be even better if they had a better sound system, or at least if speakers were spread out in a way that the crowd doesnt muffle.the sound for people far from the DJ stage.Its not possible to notice that its an outdoor venue after sunset. Maybe 50ft fountains near the stage that light up in the dark to the music beats would emphasize the river theme, but I dont know the legal requirements for installing them.

Love the atmosphere. The drinks are a good price. I love that they have different areas. The music is mixed genre.

Went on a Sunday and we paid 25$ per person to enter. Drinks cost around 25$ and the food was delicious, atmosphere was nice and music was a vibe. Parking is difficult get there before 7:00 I believe ladies are free before 7:00 pm..

Been coming here for years(10YRS+) on Sundays (REGGAE/Afrobeats etc). Great place, drinks are priced affordable, wish they had a drink menu and seats at the back bar near the water like they use too. And some discounted nights or back to free before 10p; thats when I use to eat here first & stay to party.Now $20-25 entry sheesh. Still a solid place & I hope with all the new construction they stick around for many more years.

I’ve been here twice for carribean night (sundays) and it was absolutely amazing, probably one of the best vibes in any club i’ve been to in the city. my drinks have been good the music and vibes immaculate and they do a pretty good job of switching the music and the vibe up.only thing i would say is i wish there were more opportunities to give song requests, they do have a number to send song requests to but from the last time i was here, a lot of the same music was being played. that being said the vibes were still immaculate and i had a great time and I definitely will be back many more times to come.

Overall I enjoyed myself at Cavanaugh’s on a Sunday. I was in attendance to celebrate a friends birthday. They played Pandora for most of our visit but a DJ became playing music around 7pm.I enjoyed the fried shrimp and veggie platter provided but the chicken wings were fried to hard for my liking (they were a bit dry) but they looked delicious.Now the biggest things that I did not care for during this visit was the bar. The male bartender (a female came on later on around 6pm or 7) while making our drinks dropped the lime on the outdoor bar and instead of tossing it, he put it on the side of the cup as garnishment.I didn’t order another drink after that and stuck to beer in a can. After that I sat at the bar to watch how he worked and not one time did I see him wash his hands, wipe the bar down, or clean up the salt from the plate of salt that was on the bar for what I believe was used for margaritas that blew down the bar from the wind.Unfortunately, that is a turn off for me so I don’t ever need another drink at this bar.Also, the food for the party should have been setup in the reserved area of the party and not on the opposite side of the bar. Shortly after the food was brought out, I walked over to get a plate of food and had to continuously swat away an annoying fly that was hovering over the uncovered food. Another turnoff for me.So I won’t drink here unless it’s in a can or bottle and I’ll eat before I arrive if attending for a party.

Had a great time until i asked the dj to play a song. The bouncers said I could request songs so I did so politely and the dj @officialmartinmusic was extremely rude to me saying “you don’t gotta yell in my ear” as if the music wasn’t on 100% volume. I made a normal request like everyone else and it that ruined my night. Don’t recommend going unless you like strictly untz untz music and watered down drinks

I order food and they charged me for liquor tax when I ask about it the manager came up with a attitude instantly because I asked him to explain why… he then tried to turn it around and say I was rude for asking however he walked up without saying anything to me so I wasn’t even aware of who he was … the customer service here is horrible with the upper employee level …the ppl who took my order were great . I am a dark skin woman and I have an attitude however my light skin friend took my took my recipe and complained of the exact same thing and he brought her a drink!!!! I wasn’t even look to get a refund I just didn’t think it was ok to charger ppl liquor tax on food !!!!!! Only black ppl come to river deck yet all the bar and food staff is white !!!!!!!

New management is no longer granting military / vet free entry after 20+ years! So disappointing. The speakers located throughout the facility sounds like trash too. Please replace them.

I came here during the day time for an event. They were well organized for the flow of people, and was quite prepared for rain. Large selection of drinks, about 5 different bars so plenty of room to find a seat if one bar is full. Good portion for food.

It’s a either a big hit or a big miss. Usually charges $20 but you can’t see inside the venue so if it’s a miss you’re out of luck. But on a good night there’s great energy. The contracted security are terrible people is my only major negative and they don’t seem like they’re going to get rid of them any time soon. Side note: their Sunday events are usually pretty good (I.e all white clothes events, Caribbean nights, etc)

I think that this is a beautiful event space with great music and energy, the servers and staff were all chill. Food was ok. My issues were #1. The prices vs alcohol...I have gone out I have stayed in and Id say I have a pretty good idea of my tolerance at this age. One thing I noticed is that even when buying large or supposedly strong drinks I walked away paying anywhere between 15-25 dollars for a drink WITH TIP, I purchased multiple drinks at 2 different bars and after 2 LIT, a fishbowl and a cocktail and I barely walked away with a buzz...now come on yall 🙃 I wouldnt have thought anything of it but even when buying the more expensive drinks, theyd ask does it matter what alcohol to put in?...now I know sometimes ppl got they preferentials but homosapiens...lets put the math together here. I know Im not the only one. Other than that, my other minor complaints were more event specific not site specific. Lower yall prices or stop skrrtin ppl on these beverages fr 😤

I enjoy gooding on Sunday nights. I frequent the establishment 3 years ago and had a really nice evening. I returned with my cousin and again a good time had. We didnt order from the menu our interest was drinks and music. Good music decent crowd great ambiance and atmosphere. Its beautiful in the summer to hang out and have the view across the water from the deck of the city as your backdrop!

The female bartender (white with long brown hair) she was by the dance floor she was extremely rude. We had wristbands but the people at the front didn’t give us the cups and they apologized but the way she handled it was so disrespectful. She basically brushed me off and said she wasn’t going to serve me and slammed the empty bottle in my face. She was only polite to the men probably because she wanted a good tip. She seriously needs to get spoken to because if I was someone else things would’ve turned out ugly.

Finally made it here. Friends used to host sweaty fun dancehall parties and we heard good things bout this place.So disappointed. Being black and African, we were interested BUT $20 for what felt like a hood block party on the pier. The DJ kept talking over the music like we were listening to the radio in the car with advertisements. So hard to dance and feel free with the angry faces. I’m sure everyone was high, that’s cool but doesn’t work with dance parties. I also am the culture so I get it but we evolved.There’s a bathroom attendant and so much security not securing the place, it just looks like multiple hustles going on at the same time.Mad respect still because the place was packed but I couldn’t wait till we left and went to an actually fun party

The views is beautiful. service was terrible. I had Deighton as my server and I guess he was having a bad day cause his whole attitude was just off. Like I get it, no one wants to work but d*** come on… not to mention I had a automatic 18% gratuity fee added which I never mind but my service wasn’t good. I wouldn’t have tipped him 18% because of how he acted.

Reasonable cover price with a nice space for dancing. The music was good, the DJ played a pretty good selection too. The outside area was packed as it wasn’t hot outside and being on the water made it cool out. The drinks were overpriced and watered down. They fill your cups with a lot of ice, little liquor and a bunch of juice. Terrible.

Went once for a psychedelic bands gig. Was kinda cool place to see a gig. Went once again just to have a couple beers and it was what I figured itd normally be: a s-show.

I love the meeting place: fresh air, open sky, music, familiar faces of staff, regular attendees, feels like family, right there along the waterfront, and then crowds of people too come through. It was good to see everyone. My favorite night is Sunday but every day has its own crowd and specials. People also hold events during the daytime hours

This is a great place to come and hang out. If you like great food and good music this is the place to come and be with friends. If the food and music arent enough the AMAZING views of the pier will change your mind.

This place is terrible!! They wouldnt let my bf in because he has a torn ACL. They accused him of being drunk because he comes in stumbling ... we showed the bouncer the official doctors note proving that he has a ACL aka stating why hes stumbling but they couldnt care less and didnt let us in. Honestly this a violation of ADA laws. If you are disabled with any issues that make you walk worse than normal DO NOT GO HERE!

Sundays are pretty fun! Music and vibes are amazing. My only complaint is that the drinks are clearly watered down and my last drink had no alcohol at all. The guy next to me was a bartender from out of town and even he said the bartender gave him water.

Going to be completely honest. Went on a Friday, a lot going on. Bouncers seem cool. Visually, vibes are there. Have some patience at the bar, $13 drinks..you *might* be buzzed, at best. I suggest pregaming. DJ is a 7/10. This is just the type of bar u go to after you’re already a little drunk. Could potentially be fun, and it’s in a beautiful location

If I could give 0 stars, I would. Being a server myself, I have never gone anywhere and not tipped. That changed last night. I had reservations for 7:15 just to eat. When we arrived, there was so much chaos by the hostess stand, they didn’t even properly greet us because they thought we were with another party. Our ID’s got checked, which is understandable. However, the “security guard” gave us a cocky speech on how we cannot leave our seats unless we are going to the bathroom or leaving. I told him we were just there to eat and they we weren’t drinking. He said “I’m just doing my job. Remain seated. Do not leave the tables with your drinks”. We were debating on leaving but we gave it a try anyway. We got seated next to the bar, and the bartender greeted us, grabbed us two waters and a coke. The water had a terrible taste to it, couldn’t even drink it. And they coke was watered down. When I told the bartender about the coke, he said “oh really?”, walked away.. looked to see if the coke needed to be refilled, and that was it. Didn’t grab us a new one, didn’t ask if we wanted something else, and it was on the check. We ordered a burger that came with fries and the chili nachos with chicken. The burger was OK, but the lettuce on it was brown. The fries were soggy. The nachos had potential if the toppings were spread evenly. Everything was in one spot with a HUGE glob of sour cream in the middle. Some of the chips were stale. I was able to see behind the bar from my seat, and it was FILTHY. At that point I felt disgusted. I can’t imagine how dirty and unsanitary the kitchen must be. I could keep going but I hope you get the point. I guess this one star rating could go for the waitress who asked if we were OK.DO NOT BE LIKE ME AND WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!!

Terrible experience!! Our close friend had booked a party at this venue and had confirmed about 20+ guests. Upon arrival one of our friends had a valid digital ID card proving that she was of age to enter the establishment, however she was denied entry!!! She was 25 and of age to enter. And denied EVEN AFTER SHOWING VALID ID. Afterwards we had gone to multiple other establishments that had accepted this form of ID so it was unacceptable that they denied entry. Given that they had let underage people entry while we were standing outside and didn’t even ask for ID for multiple entrees. We were unsure why they denied us access after our friend had an id showing that she was of legal age. It baffled us that this establishment allowed the entry of underage people while simultaneously denying access to someone of age. Despite the fact that we were going to give the establishment a business of $1600+. I would not recommend this place at all, not only due to this experience, but also in the past the music and drinks were subpar and the customer service was atrocious!!

This place gets the award for the most expensive drinks for the least amount of alcohol. 25$ (before tip) for an airline sized cup that didn’t have any taste of alcohol. Thanks a lot.

I went there on Friday July 23rd for the first time and was very excited. I got my first drink at the bar in the front and was served by Tina. As I was waiting she was serving another couple and I saw that she did not put any alcohol in their drinks. When she gave the drinks to them the male said something to her about it and instead of making a new drink or adding in alcohol Tina argued with him. I overheard the female asking for a pen to sign the check and instead of giving the couple one she snatched the check out of his hand and said I do not need your tip. After seeing that I did not want to be served by her as that is very unprofessional. Unfortunately, she came to me right after and asked what I wanted to drink and I told her that it was okay and I would wait for the other bartender. She kept insisting that I order because there were people behind me making me feel bad. Again I watched her make my drink and saw she did not put any alcohol in mine either! I do not recommend going to her EVER! She is VERY unprofessional and does not have the customer service skills that a bartender should have.

Between this one or Morgan peer is the top two outdoor places for me. Prices are decent and I believe food is better than Morgan. They have tv if you want to watch sports games. They view is amazing especially at night. Night life is amazing too with a younger crowd compare yo Morgan. They have a lot of specials during the week so check it out.

The waterfront view is very nice. although it rained today we were under their patio cover and we were still able to enjoy the view. They have entertainment beginning at 9:00 p.m. I was informed it gets crowded, Which verifies that the DJs are very good. The staff are very fine thing.

Very good on diverse. Unfortunately Roberto (I think) or the guy with a cap behind the bar has very bad customer service. We received a Long Island that was up to par, so we asked him to remake our drinks. We got 8-10 drinks. As a bartender myself when I saw how he was making it and when I let him know he was making it wrong, instead of acting like a professional adult he decided to make it seem like I was a delicusion African American. I went to the manager Pam, and she straightened out real quick.They have good music since they flip between Lil Baby and Miley Cyrus, however aside from my poor bar experience please be caution.

We come here frequently for mug night on Wednesdays. We always have Joey as our bartender, he is super fast and friendly. The food is good here too. I love the cheesesteak egg rolls.

This is my favorite place to go in the summer. Sunday nights (Caribbean Night) are the best. Good music and strong drinks. Perfect combination for a good time. Saturdays are ok. Its more of a mixed crowd, which means the DJ caters more to the majority. But still able to have a great time

I was very disappointed with the customer service at this establishment. My party waited 20 minutes before being greeted by a waitress. No water, no “I’ll be right with you guys” nothing. Multiple times I attempted to create eye-contact to speak with a waitress. After 20 minutes, a waitress came over, she did not introduce herself, so I am not sure of her name. We were informed that the beverage menu was online so we weren’t even able to order a drink. I placed an order and was asked to provide a card for my tab. Another 20 minutes went by and still no one came over to check on us, not even to ask what we were drinking. I informed the bartender that I wanted to cancel my order, I waited 10 minutes for my order to be cancelled and to receive my card back. I understand that there are multiple new CDC regulations in order to conduct business. But the service was slow and unprofessional. They do not deserve the star that google forced me to put.

Definitely the place to go to DANCE! Dj awesome, great mix of music. Floor was packed by 12ish. Sitting is very limited outside not sure about anywhere else. Really great time for daughters birthday! You can get a 3 hr package deal with specials for birthday girl/guy minimum of 10 people. Drinks are good normal for bar. Didnt try any food. Every body was friendly.

Decent place. Lots of space, but still got fairly crowded. One of the bartenders messed up my order, but was quick to correct it. There were enough bathroom stalls that there was no line. Its fairly close to Spring Garden, so easy enough to get to if youre looking for a nice spot by the river.

Used to love this place!! View is amazing. Service was horrendous! Wasn’t even busy and we ordered food and drinks and we thought they would appreciate the service. Michael M was our server and in my 36 years, the worst! Never checked on us, kicked us out of our table bc of the “law”. Another server helped us with our drinks. And he added a gratuity and we were a party of 3!! It takes a lot for me to write a review. This is my first.

I came here for the first time 2wks ago and the place was packed!It was a nice time. The crowd is mixed and so is the music. I came back tonight and they have really good Monday night specials. Have a Cherry Bomb its awesome. Not as packed as a Saturday night, but it is still crowded for a Monday night (July 4th weekend). I gave 4 stars because the DJ mixes to much. Cant really dance to your song when it comes on because as soon as he plays it is as soon as he changes it.

I took my baby sister here to celebrate her birthday and honestly we had an awesome time until we were leaving. The bouncers were disrespectful and aggressive and unfriendly. I got a cup of ice from the bartender because I wanted some water and I went outside to get a bottle of water for my car and bouncer literally almost knocked me over telling me I couldnt leave with the cup I was like you clearly can see there is nothing in the cup no alcohol, just ice and Im dehydrated from dancing and its really hot I just need to get some water and they refused to let they leave with a cup they were really aggressive and rude and obnoxious and it didnt make any sense. We werent even intoxicated or belligerent or anything and its sad they react that way and Im not quite sure if its because were black and they felt as if they had the authority to be that aggressive. Honestly cant put my finger on it, they actually ruin the night for us.

Im here every Sunday. Its a vibe. If your into dancing and good food and great music, well its the go to spot. Sad its over til next summer. Ill be back with better dance moves.

My friends and I were treated horribly here. They charged us 70 dollars more than we were supposed to be. When we mentioned the wrong number, they were extremely rude and told us that we were wrong. Argued with us for over an hour. All of the food was cold and nobody checked on us one time. We had to go up to the bar. It was unpleasant and you should look into new staff.

Fun place and nice atmosphere but the staff has a tendency to not be very friendly or polite. Overall crowd this place drawls in seems to be a rowdy younger group and high cover fee to get in for a mediocre establishment.

My recent experience at Cavanaughs River Deck was very eye opening and left me dissatisfied with their bar service. Ive been a patron for years but my recent visit, a male bartender (at the main bar close to the dance floor) tried to pass off a brunch pineapple juice as a double shot drink. There was no alcohol whatsoever. He claimed it was his first day but it was not his first Day as a bartender. The bar manager did very little to rectify the situation, although a female bartender attempted to assist. I will be more skeptical and observant of how my drink is being made in the future.

I reserve three tables for my daughter ‘s 31st. Birthday dinner kitchen was severely shortstaffed food was an hour to an hour and a half late did not come out together it was also cold had to continue to send it back to heated up drink orders all mixed up -waitresses were burned out from being short staffed. I Would never recommend this restaurant we Reservation at tables from 6 to 8 and some of our food and drinks still had not been servers. We complained and got something taken off our bill but it was not nearly enough for the horrible experience we received . Then security and waitresses said we had to leave because the table was reserved for the next customers at 8:15 to 1015 - then apologize fir having to Rush us please don’t go here.

Wanted to rate 4. Environment and vibe is great. Maybe have more than two bartenders at your main bar so people don’t wait 2 hours to get a drink….It’s been like this for several weekends: hire more.

This place is ridiculous. Over the age of 21 but denying us because someone in our group had a paper copy of their ID because the dmv was in the process of mailing the physical copy. A GOVERNMENT ISSUED LEGAL DOCUMENT was denied. It was a valid paper ID but the bouncer was just on a power trip and refused to even look at the paper. He said “we don’t accept paper” GOVERNMENT ISSUED PAPER that clearly stated “valid form of id”. Absolutely embarrassing will never be returning.

The atmosphere was fine, location is great but the bartenders and servers were terrible, I tried to order food but the server named Trevor knowingly seen me and told me hell be right with me, but deliberately ignored me as he was flirting with the customers when he had so many openings but continued to flirt with people. Shity first time experience.

The food is good , the staff are nice and the drinks are ok. The DJ was awesome. I would definitely return. Nice to sit on the water especially on a day with perfect weather.

Drink prices werent terrible but the music and the people suck. For 2 straight hours(because I got there at midnight) there was no music newer than 2015. 50% chance of getting into a fight outside when you leave too

The bouncer with the grey beard is the worst employee I have ever encountered. He wrongfully accused me of “running my mouth” and “fighting” the last time I attended. Neither of these statements are true and he claims he remembers my face, although he clearly has the wrong person. It is absolutely ridiculous. I have also seen him deny 2 other people with real IDs and falsely accuse other people of wrongdoings. He should be fired.

Requested songs from the DJ similar to some songs he had already played and when i asked him and another staff member when it would be played (about an hour later), they got super sensitive and said how usually they charge people $5 to request a song (is this a thing in philly? Im from NY and never experienced that) and they were pretty vague on whether or not it would be played. They said people probably wouldn’t vibe to it (i asked for songs from bad bunny’s new album) BUT they played similar music already AND they did play a song from the album maybe like 30 min before??? I told them it was strange that they charged people to request a song and they got super defensive on how this is how they make a living and it’s not weird. This should not have been such a big deal?? Most DJs I know take in song requests (as long as they fit the vibe) with no issue. The whole interaction made me feel uncomfortable because of how defensive they got especially since they played songs with a similar vibe later and everyone at the place loved it.

The staff at Cavanaughs River Deck were Amazing. My nieces bridal shower got cancelled for inside dining due to Covid 19 and the wonderful staff at Cavanaughs not only accommodated our party on very short notice but did an amazing job. The venue was perfect and the food was delicious. All my guests could not stop talking about what a great time they had there. If you need to plan a great party, call Jenna … she is super helpful and thorough. Thanks again for turning what could have been a very disappointing day into a great one!

Dj has no idea how to do transitions. Everybody stands around. They charge $20 and add gratuity to your checK BEWARE!! Ample security but not a fun place. Go to the Saint and save yourself 😂😂

Awesome 10 dollar open bar and buffet on Thursdays with really nice staff who make strong drinks if you are nice to them (which you should be). Their food is super underrated the Mac and cheese is incredible and their wings are really good if you get the cavs sauce. Great music and dancing, never had a bad night and clean bathrooms! 4 stars because on the weekends its super crowded and hard to get served.

Used to love coming on Sunday nights... The DJ tonight literally played the songs for about 15 seconds max and then changed the song or started talking! Please dont be the hype man every 20 seconds we came to listen to the music and vibe not hear him scream over the music! Please hire a different DJ -thanks the people

I came here on Friday July 23rd and my boyfriend and I were served by Tina. It was our first drink of the night and our first time at River Deck so we were excited. We watched as Tina did not put any alcohol into our drinks! When we called her out on it she become mad and instead of making another drink or trying to make things better she proceeded to be rude to both of us. When I asked for a pen she snatched the tip out of my boyfriends hand and said I dont need your tip. This was so unprofessional and made our first experience bad. To top it all off we received the credit card statement today and she gave herself a tip!! After the fact that she did not allow us to sign the receipt, she took it upon herself to sign OUR check and TIP HERSELF! This is so unprofessional and I DO NOT recommend going to her for service EVER!Update: the manager called us and was very apologetic and rectified the situation

My most recent visit to this place will surely be my last. Ordered the $20 fishbowl and it was swimming with fruit flies. I know this is an outdoor bar but they obviously dont clean the way they need to. The second drink was very weak, barely any vodka, tasted like $20 kool aid The service is fine here but they need better food and drinks. The hot wings had no flavor. Its a shame they are putting a great location to waste.

Went on a Saturday in July. Even though lots of people were there, it didnt feel uncomfortable because the space is so big. Food was good, liquor drinks were okay, music was good, bathrooms were fine (for men at least). There were about 6 urinals and 3 stalls. I would go back, but only with my friends who like to dance & turn up.

My girls and I went on a Sunday its was raining and still jumping! You can stay inside or under the tent where the real party is at. All different types of genders. Everyone was great!

I should of known as I was sitting down this was gonna be a bad idea. The couple sitting behind us looked miserable & I soon found out why. They waited almost an hour for there food. They didnt even eat it. Our food came quicker than theres ( just a shade under 50 minutes). It was cold by the time we got it. They only had 1 waitress serving 50 people. Drunk obnoxious kids. Wont be coming back here

Absolutely unreal. I asked for 3 shots and she gave me warm tequila shot with NO salt and NO lime. I asked her for lime she goes no. She made me grab from a disgusting bucket of limes with everyone’s hands in it. She then made me pay 20% for tip when she deserved 2%. I am astonished with the service.

My first visit. Its a great place. The food and beverages was awesome. Some of the staff was pleasant. My only gripe was I was attacked using the facilities and the security treated me so unfairly. I guess I wasnt suppose to defend myself. Other than that awesome time.

Beautiful location. Ok drinks. Very skimpy on the alcohol and waaaay over priced. Worse security though. We recently watched a man get assaulted by security here for being a bit unruly during closing. Recent news is this mans on his death bed. Apparently this place is run by low lives.

Loved it! Great outdoor spot right on the Delaware River just north of the Ben Franklin Bridge. Reasonably priced drinks and good food, good music thats not too loud, plenty of space, outdoor smoking on the deck! We went on a Sunday afternoon, but it apparently gets packed for dancing on weekend nights.

LOVE this place in the summer!! The music is cool and the drink specials are great! Not to mention how cool it is looking over the Delaware river. When the bathrooms are full, they have porta potties out back! And the club is ALWAYS filled with pretty girls. Cant beat this place on a nice summer night.

9/11/21 my second time coming to river deck. I was meeting some friends who were already inside. I’m waiting in line to show my ID to security. I get to the front and hand them my ID, they start looking at me and my ID weirdly. I already know what they’re thinking, I don’t look the same. Well here’s the backstory, during covid IDs were renewed online and the previous photo was re-used. So the photo is well over 4 yrs old. But u can obviously tell it’s me. Only difference is I have long black hair and eyelashes on. They tell me i cannot come in because it’s not me. They didn’t try scanning or asking for another form of ID. Very rude about it. I am kicked out of line and I notice a man outside with the logo on his shirt. I approach him and he claimed he was a manager. He took 1 look at my ID and said “it’s not you” and walked away. I couldn’t believe none of them couldnt see it was me! I’m 26 yrs old I have no reason to use somebody else’s ID! It blew my mind and ruined my night! I was literally there last year with the same exact ID and no problems. I’ve been to bars in the area and no problems! The way they handled this situation was ridiculous and made no sense! I WILL NOT be returning especially now that I see their security is known for beating customers to a pulp and putting them in hospitals. Train ur security better!

I came here to celebrate my birthday and I couldn’t have been more impressed. There were some issues at the atm and Mike helped us without even knowing it was my birthday. He went out of his way to make sure we were having a good time. A big shoutout to Trevor who was going a mile a minute, Aaron for just doin his job, and the hostess who watched our drinks while I called my friend an uber. You guys have a great crew and I can’t wait to come back

The security and staff here are amazing! My friend lost her phone here Saturday night and someone took it and was all over the place Sunday. We then located the phone back to river deck and George and Zach were able to pinpoint the location of the phone and get it back for us. Couldn’t of been more helpful or friendlier

I would not recommend this establishment as I had friends visiting from a different country and they were turned away because they required a passport to enter. Ive never heard of this requirement before and my friends felt very discriminated against. I hope they improve polices that are more inclusive to those who are patrons from both near and far...

First time back at Riverdeck since the pandemic, only ONE thing changed. The bartending service changed for the better.DEREK made our visit back here one of the most memorable times! He was prompt, organized, and took care of everyone in our group. Didn’t miss a beat, and didn’t have to wait half the night for one drink. This guy knows what he’s doing and does it well! If you go to Riverdeck, find Derek the bartender, and your night is set!Will def be back!

This my first visit to the River Deck!! The social distancing was OK for a moment!! The TV’s are to small!! Suggestion, Upgrade!! My food was alright, but had to reorder my fries because they came out cold!! But it was handled professionally!!The real complaint was that a guest in my party bought a 32 oz bucket, that cost $20! Upon leaving, we was stopped that she couldn’t keep the empty bucket!!! It cost her $20 and it was plastic!! Security informed us that the are reusable!! 🤨🤨🤨. That is so unsanitary to even think about reusing!!! It didn’t cost $20 to make the bucket!! A souvenir to introduce more clients about her experience and yet she was denied by the rent a security!! Ya’ll need to fix those issues because I don’t want to have to go higher up for those changes!! Possibly having ya’ll shut down for unsanitary usage of drink containers!!!

Staff made my group of 8 feel super uncomfortable and accused us of cursing and harassing the staff. Staff was super unprofessional and made us feel so unwelcomed that we left immediately after receiving our food. I will never visit this establishment again after being treated so poorly and accused of things we did not do.

I have never been more physically violated in my life - I never even made it inside...they do a very intense bag check and pat down to enter - I totally get it and am on the side of safety...BUT I have a large chest the female bouncer violently squeezed and prodded my breasts (as least 4 times she fully squeezed my chest) she also rubbed my vagina during the pat down. I had ZERO warning that this was going to occur - even the TSA explains everything and says I am going to gently go near a sensitive part now. I generally do not mind being touched and it takes A LOT to offend me/make me feel uncomfortable. We were in town for my friends 30th birthday from NY - a group of 8 married couples (most with kids) - we were not drunk or rowdy at all when entering the bar - it was 11:00 pm and we had NO drugs or weapons on us at all. You need to train your staff to not molest your customers during entry.

They have excellent food, incredibly kind staff, and a great location. Their menu appears to not have much variety at first, but the flavorful options they do have more than make up for that. They are also careful about observing social distancing during these difficult times.

I enjoy going to river deck for caribbean night but can someone tell me why they have a 20-25 dollar cover on the night when all the black people come (african caribbean music) but on any other night of the week it is free or at most 10 dollars. I would expect the cover to be higher on a Friday or Saturday but caribbean nights are on Sundays. 25 dollar cover just to get in. No discounts on drinks or anything. This is per person. Honestly ridiculous

Paid a $10 cover and they have a $10 minimum for cards. If you don’t show up without cash you’re essentially screwed. The place is a knock-off Morgan’s pier and wish they were as fine as of an establishment but clearly never will be. Overpriced, overrated, and an absolute waste of one’s time. I would have had more fun visiting the gravestone of my dear Yia-Yia then at this bar.

I have been going to Island Vibes here Sunday nights for about 5 years now! I enjoy the different types of music especially the afro beats! Afro beats makes my life complete and Sunday nights never fails to deliver! The location along the Ben Franklin Bridge gives the outdoors such a vibe! Love this place! I was just there for the classic Labor Day Sunday in which Im in there by 9pm and out by 12am because this place is sooo packed. I leave sweaty from dancing from the moment I enter until I shake by groove thing off the dance floor!

I always have a great time at Kavanaugh’s right there on the water good vibes good music great crowd the only thing is be careful if you wear stilettos because they have the wood planks and your heels get caught in them.

It is a nice place I will give them that but the security here is so unprofessional. As a fight broke out amd my home girl was stuck in the middle of it they jacked her up and started throwing her out. She didnt even start the fight or anything. Her purse and phone got missing they would not let her get it and then when our group said something they start throwing us out. I will not ever come back here again and i will post it on my Facebook and since I work in the public eye I will be telling everyone I know not to go to this place.

DO NOT GET the open bar!! You are lied to about the price. Most drinks are still an upcharge. You will only get one plastic cup to drink out of, if you lose it, game over. The bartenders will take your cup from you if you are not looking, evem if the cup is full! They will yell at you for losing your cup. The bartenders did this to me two times, then kicked me out for asking too many questions. Paid $25 for a yeungling and a few sips of too-sugary LI iced tea.Never again, and neither should you.

Ive been a longtime patron of River Deck, but after last nights service, I can assure you that I will not give them any more of my business, and let everybody I know about my experience.A few friends and I went to River Deck on a Thursday night (8/22/13) for some drinks, and it was apparently their Dollar mug night. Since I did not have enough cash on me for the amount of drinks I was going to purchase for myself and friends, I opted to use a credit card. Upon hearing that I was taking out a tab, the bartender that works at the bar closest to the river with dark hair proceeded to throw a fit, rolling her eyes, huffing and puffing, and said to me Youre really going to open a tab?. I apologized and said to her that I did not have cash. After ordering a drink, she slammed the cup in front of me and walked away. My friends and I looked at each other in awe, as Ive never seen such a performance like that from any bartender before.Upon ordering another drink, the bartender did not recoginze me at first, so after she told me the price for the next round of drinks, I reminded her that I had a tab open. Her exact words were as follows: Youre kidding me right? If I knew that you had a tab open, I wouldnt have served you. Obviously, this kind of behavior from an employee in the service industry is unacceptable.This has not been my first negative experience here. Do not be suprised if bartenders will try to pull fast ones on you, making up their own bogus minimums on tabs, or choosing to cut you off if you decide not to leave 100% dollar for dollar tip on every single drink. As you can see in many reviews below, it is VERY DIFFICULT getting a drink, as bartenders always seem to be goofing around with their friends sitting up at the bar, and will blatantly ignore you until they feel like serving you. I would normally leave one star for this kind of treatment to customers, but the drinks are competitevly priced, and it is a nice outside atmosphere. But, obviously there is a flaw in management on supervising the service that their employees give to paying customers, and needs to be addressed.

Ashley, the bartender at cavanaughs, is what made our experience here. My boyfriend and I came to celebrate his birthday on a quiet Sunday. She has been attentive and conversational since the moment we arrived. Later we found out there was an event hosted by a radio station. When 50+ people rolled through the door she handled them effortlessly and still kept the conversation rolling with us. We will definitely be returning in hopes of having ashley be our bartender as well as the great riverside atmosphere.

I am almost certain that in this place they have vodka bottles full of water. I have in two occasions gotten drinks that tasted like watery soda even though they put a good amount of “vodka” in them. Everyone in that bar is rude and disrespectful. They are scammers.

The drinks special are awesome especially Sunday night All reggae, soccer and African music. The best spot in Philadelphia so far. Sofia my favorite bar tender.

I would give it 0 if I could. The professional clown at the door told my friends he wouldn’t let two members in our party in because they had a fake ID, didn’t know my address or was getting mouthy. None of the above was true, everyone in the party was 24+years old and are all graduate students who know how to conduct themselves. The man at the door/gate/fence whatever you want to call it wouldn’t even look at the ID of these meme era and said “you’re not getting in.” This place took everyone’s entry fee and then everyone ended up having to leave without getting any drinks due to this “professionals” conduct.

For opening night of 2021 I had an amazing time! Entry was a struggle as rsvp was made but wouldnt be allowed in until whole group arrived. Jay at the door quickly addressed my concern around this issue and we were let in immediately. Sunday is the night to go as it is Caribbean night! The bar staff outside is attentive to guests. I like it here. If youre not into clubs but your friends are, this is a decent middle ground. Most of it is outside so it doesnt feel as claustrophobic as some clubs do. Normal price drinks. I like going here in the summer.

Made a reservation for a party of 12 for a birthday and made us sit at opposite sides of the resturant. Hostest was rude and sarcastic with us when asked if we could switch tables. Never coming here again.

Service is horrible here. My friend asked for water didn’t get had to asked twice. Sever never came back to check on the table or no where to be found. Took an hour for the food to come out. I would recommend this place to anyone.

We have been waiting at the table for 45 minutes and no one will serve us. We asked for service and they denied us saying that they are really busy. If you are busy please dont waste people’s time by seating them. Unless this is a free meal and drinks please do not expect people dont have anything better with their time.

Nice but dont get there till after 10pm

I will NEVER come to this place EVER again after what the security guards did to that man. Beat him and stomped on his head after he was unconscious. Disgusting!!!
