Tree of Zen Studio Center City

This place is the worst. I called and left and message no one ever called me back. I texted and it took day for them to respond. When the did I asked for the to explain the difference in massages and they never got back to me. Someone gifted me a massage off Groupon and now it has expired and they never had any available appointments. It’s seems to only be open on Monday and only and a 5 pm appointment time for all of the Mondays in each month which don’t work for me because I work. I’m not sure what type of business this but it’s the worst and shouldn’t be called a business. I have to figure out to to get Groupon to let me pick another spa or tell my friend to get her money back because the place is ridiculous.

This was my first facial and it was an amazing experience. Great atmosphere, the decor in the room was perfect. Lanez was super friendly w/ great energy. She asked questions to better take care of my skin and gave me tips. You can tell she’s invested and takes pride in her work and knows what she’s doing. I would 100% recommend and will be returning. Also was super easy to book an appointment. Thank you!

I was extremely satisfied with my overall experience at The Tree of Zen and highly recommend to all friends, family and to those reading this review. The room was warm and inviting. My therapist was professional, soothing and asked all the right questions. The pressure applied during my massage was perfect as all my areas of concern were addressed. After my first visit, I cancelled my membership with a chain wellness spa and signed up for the monthly Tree of Zen membership.Five stars!

Had a facial here with Lanez and it was absolutely amazing. She really cares about her customers and loves her job. She gave a very detailed consultation on top of my facial and my face has been glowing!! Super happy and will be back!!!

I just got my first facial at Tree of Zen and it was absolutely fantastic! It began on time, had a calming ambiance and the esthetician (Lynez) made sure I was comfortable at all times and even suggested a skin care regimen for my specific skin type. I absolutely enjoyed my appointment and will absolutely be back as well as refer to anyone interested!

I bought a Groupon for my mother to receive a massage from this location Christmas of 2020. She got a hold of them a was told there weren’t any appointments for months. She was supposed to receive her massage between March/April and she received a cancellation. She tried to get a hold of them multiple times and they rescheduled twice. I tried to get a hold of them on 4 separate occasions. Either they didn’t pick up the phone or I received a text but no one followed up. I finally get one the phone and the person tells me I have to redeem the Groupon in order to give her the code (bad mistake). Still months later (June of 2021 now) she still didn’t receive her service and I never got a call back. Honestly, I want to give the benefit of the doubt but based on the fact these reviews go as far back as 2017, all I see are excuses and lack of accountability. I think it’s great that it’s a women owned business but the fact they’re taking advantage of people, refuse to be organized, aren’t professional and still still the love and light stuff is gonna work is just arrogant. And it makes it harder for other women who want to pursue a business like this considering the fact that women have to work so much harder to prove themselves worthy in society. I really hope the people who run this business actually acknowledge their flaws and actually do something to make sure those mistakes don’t happen instead of just running to review boards trying to save face….

This was my first facial ever and I had such a wonderful experience and loved how we were able to conversations and relate while getting my facial done. She was very professionaland knowledgable about about the skin and gave me great advice. My skin was glowing after she was done with me and I was very happy with the results, as well with the massage I got.Definitely looking forward to my next visit with her!

I absolutely love the services at Tree of Zen Spa! I experienced such care and attention from Parris the moment I walked in the door to the moment I left. I’ve had a few massages and facials and you can expect to feel totally relaxed after massage, but to also experience that same euphoria from a facial blew my mind! I also was pleased to find out the Tree of Zen is partnered with Akwaaba Bed & Breakfast and I was able to book spa services at the Bed & Breakfast and to be treated by the owner! My mom, sister, and I truly enjoyed it.These women are so incredible, super in tune with their clients, and just so nurturing. Highly recommended!

I just left my first massage and feel so great I had to write my review right away! Lanez is amazing - she asked and then addressed my primary concern, my shoulder which has been giving me so much pain, and made a HUGE difference in just one massage session. I have gotten massages at dozens of different spas in my life and have never felt this much better after just one before. Thank you!!

Exceptional service. This was my first facial and Lanez was amazing. She asked questions to understand my skin type, she explained what she was doing at certain times throughout the facial, and most importantly she provided follow up and at-home regimes to continue with my skincare. This was a pleasant experience and I will definitely be returning.

My favorite place ever to go when I want to get a great facial. Everything from the ambiance to the custom playlist creates such a relaxing vibe. They go the extra mile to tailor the service around you and are attentive to your needs. The staff are highly experienced and knowledgeable as well which ensures that you get the most out of your experience. I would highly recommend Tree of Zen to anyone.

When I had my first facial here, I had been out of the skincare game for years. Not only was I spoiled with phenomenal organic products for an amazing facial, but I also had the loveliest surprise shoulder massage. Let me tell you- those are some great hands. Unlike most places, I didn’t leave with a red face (sensitive skin) and now know what people mean when they ever reference a facial “glow”.I’ve gifted TOZ’s services to friends twice already and I highly recommend checking the spa out and supporting female-owned small businesses!

It took 2 weeks to get them to schedule an appointment for a massage and facial. My calls and texts were ignored. I think she overbooked herself. The massage and facial was ok. However, she did less then ten seconds of pore extractions (she was trying to rush since I was one of the last appointments of the day). Additionally, I would realize later that she didnt provide the full length of service (again, it was obvious that she was trying to rush me). To add insult, I didnt realize until hours later when out for the night that she had left a substantial amount of product caked on my face. I will not be returning in the future.

I bought a Groupon for this place and got Nicole for my masseuse. Ever since then (back in December) I have gone every 2 weeks. The atmosphere is relaxing and that of a place equivalent to any you will find in Center City. Nicole is personable, professional, and flexible with her schedule. I can text her and get an appointment within a week or two. She makes every time I go there absolutely relaxing and I look forward to it each time I go! On top of that you cant beat the price and I highly recommend this if you want a thorough massage to help relieve any stress whatsoever. This has become a part of my routine and is just what the doctor ordered! I am a forever customer!!

Lanez is a blessing to ones body mind and soul. I was worried about parking initially because of the location but I found a spot right in front of the building. When I came in that morning I was tense upset and carrying a lot of baggage that weighed on my body. She organically assisted me in the process of letting it go. She was aware of my needs and let me be in charge by giving me options and allowing me to do what was most comfortable for me. The energy massage was a complete mood changer. The perfect way to start my morning. I highly recommend her particularly for anyone with shoulder tendinitis or calcification in their rotator cuff. Her massage is a non invasive way to help relieve some of those pains and aches. Amazing! Amazing! Amazing!

Like a lot of people, I got a Groupon for a massage and facial for Tree of Zen. I was pretty disheartened by the amount of time it took me to get in touch with someone to schedule an appointment and that the earliest time was a month and a half out. When I arrived, I was a bit hesitant (the door was locked and I had to wait for someone to let me in) but, as soon as soon as I got into the room and onto the table, I was immediately relaxed. The space is extremely calming, the music was perfect, and I was extremely comfortable. The massage was one of the best Ive had in a long time and I have been to a lot of places around the city. Without my verbalizing what was bothering me, Lanez knew where to focus her attention. Next part was the facial, which I never am really excited about because I think my face always looks the same when I leave BUT it was the best facial Ive ever had... I actually was glowing when I walked out. Lanez was funny, kind, and personable. I told the person that was waiting when I left that it was totally worth the time it took to get in there! So, sure, I had to wait and I hate that (lover of instant gratification) but Id recommend to anyone and will to everyone.

I purchased a Groupon only to find out upon calling Tree of Zen that you can’t make appointments for another four months. When calling, you are forced to leave a message or send a text. I tried to explain that I’m an out-of-towner and will be leaving in a week, but after several attempts I realize I’ve been ignored.

If I could rate no stars I would! Please don’t Waste your money! My husband gifted me a spa day for my birthday and it took them 2 months to book an appointment only to cancel within minutes of my appointment through text. He never got refunded or given another date. They’re so unprofessional! Do not go here!

I’ve been getting monthly massages for almost a year, and one of the best in philly! After every massage, I leave feeling much better and more relaxed/revitalized. Amazing relaxing music and ambiance . Also super friendly and accommodating with scheduling! Highly highly recommend!!

Ive visited this hidden gem almost a half dozen different occasions and every instance I leave more and more impressed. Extremely relaxing mood when entering the atmosphere and also always greeted with the upmost professionalism. The actually massages themselves are off the charts, I always leave feeling rejuvenated(7-10 years younger). If you live in the area this is the no brainer spot to try for an excellence masseuse whos very knowledgeable in all areas. Also beyond capable of answering all questions you may have under the sun discussing massaging and all muscle functions. Even residents living outside of Northern Liberties shes definitely worthy of a shot. Highly recommended

Do not waste your time or money. I bought a Groupon and was unable to book an appointment to actually use said Groupon. You have to book appointment via text and they never respond. I attempted multiple times to schedule received one response that they would follow up and they never did. I continued to reach out but never heard back. Good news, Groupon gave me a full refund!

Purchased a Groupon from Tree of Zen, immediately tried to book never had any appointments available. Emailed twice no response. Contacted Groupon Tree of Zen emailed me and said oh it expired but we will honor it we have this date available let us know if you want it! Great Ill take it. I emailed before the appointment yet again to see if I was confirmed called no answer. Go to the location no one was there. So this was my first and last time trying to book with them. Very disappointed

I had an extraction facial with Lanez. My skin is GLOWING. Lanez created a lovely and comforting space at Tree of Zen. I cant wait to go back!

It was very hard for me to find a therapist that was not only good, but made me feel comfortable. My search has now ended because I found Lanez at Tree of Zen Spa!! Her hands were blessed by God and you can feel it when she touches you! I wish I could go everyday after work!

Lynez (sorry for def butchering your name) is an absolute skin care angel. Not only did she do a fantastic job but she is also such a great kind person and put someone who doesnt get facials often (me) completely at ease. I am for sure going back to her!

Horrible customer service. Don’t buy their Groupon! I bought it for a facial back in September but had to wait for appointment for 6 weeks. Nov 4 I got a text message on Saturday night at 12 am in the morning that due to some emergency my appointment is cancelled! I texted to reschedule it and still didn’t get an answer .. They made me wait for 6 weeks and now they don’t care to reschedule it !! I’m calling Groupon for refund .

I have been getting massages for over 30 years all over the world. I’ve gotten facials and different massages at Tree of Zen and they have been great. Professionalism and attention to my targeted areas were on point.

Purchased tickets from Groupon and tried calling tree of zen several times to schedule a time and a date but got no response. Their website states you can text them and someone will respond which did not occur either. So I ended up having to cancel my purchase through Groupon. Could not get anyone on the phone

For housekeeping week, I hired Tree of Zen to perform chair massages for my team. They loved it!!! The feedback from my team was that “Lanez was amazing”, “She has magic fingers”, “I wish I could put her in my pocket”, “Whew that’s what I needed”. Thanks Lanez for coming and taking care of my team!!! I can’t wait to come for a facial.

I bought a groupon for this place & reached out over 5 times. I never heard anything back in 3 months and now it was just a waste of money which is EXTREMELY unfortunate. I dont understand why I never got a call back, why I never got a text back or email back. I gave them plenty of options.Dont waste your time via groupon at least. Maybe theyll answer if someone doesnt buy off there!

These people are healers. They want to help you and you can feel it in the massage. They are amazing people, and they are the only massage therapists you should ever go to. Simply the best!

Very poor communication, professionalism and customer service. I tried scheduling every single day online for a week. There was no availability at all online. I contacted the facility via email and text numerous times with no response. I was told once that I would get a phone call from someone to schedule. I never received a phone call. Terrible business.

The parking was good. The atmosphere was so calm and relaxing. The therapist was very pleasant & polite. I will be going back next month. Five Stars from me😉
