This is an amazing place to hang out.The bartenders are all great, and everyone here seems to feel like this is family.Ive met so many people here and continue to meet new people all the time.The food is always good and the drinks are priced right.

New owner has really cleaned the bar up. Beautiful floors, nice patio outback. Unfortunately the events are poorly executed by the bar manager. Most recently attended Mr. Bulge Contest that was to start at 10: pm. Finally began just after 11 and there were only three contestants; the third recruited by manager whom happened to win even though I personally favored the other two contestants. Rigged? Certainly looked that way! 🤢

This is the best bar in the Pontiac area. They have karaoke, brown sugar bourbon wings and a drink called the diamond district with a diamond icecube in it 😍 We went on a wednesday afternoon and they had $1 wings as a special. Our waitress, T was absolutely amazing! Ask for her when you pay a visit! The drinks were actually strong and not watered down. Thats a huge plus!

We have been meaning to stop by here since we seen Poutine on the list. We stopped in for lunch finally Wednesday. Ordered the Basic B*itch and Chicken & Waffles. Food was great, the waitress was friendly. The bar was clean and decorated. They were watching Scary movies on the tvs. There were only a few people in the bar but it was lunch on a Wednesday.

This is one of my favorite bars not just because it’s near my office but because the food and people are so damn cool. The owner Brett is so welcoming and I’ve never had a bad drink. I love the aesthetic and the fact that it welcomes everyone from all backgrounds and celebrates the LGBTQIA+ community. If you want good bar food drinks and a good time and your in Pontiac try Liberty. The front and back patios or so nice too for people watching. I love the back patio the most!!

If you want a beyond friendly, upbeat, happy, and most importantly, welcoming place to have a drink or good food, this is your spot. The day time waiter / bartender, Mike was an absolute delight. So full of positive energy and just genuinely...genuine. You do really feel that ALL are welcome and accepted for who they are, and while this was my first time, you can tell that there is a lot of comradery among the staff and patrons. Also, I loved the Staten Island on the menu being a Bud Light and will forever refer to Bud by that name.

Poutine isn’t bad but it was rather bland & could have better fries. The tikka masala poutine and fried fish were flavorful. Order drinks and food at the counter and seat yourself.Not a lot of activity on a Friday night. Friendly staff and nice atmosphere. Music was hit or miss, wish they had a juke mbox.

Unique atmosphere with a loyal clientele. Great place to have a drink and some bar food. If in Michigan definitely visit for nostalgia purposes.

Ordered food Sunday June 30th and they were closed at 10pm but said online that they were open. Been constantly calling no answer and the doors were locked every time I went up there. Stole my money, don’t recommend

Grabbed carryout (lunch) from here today, and it was awesome! I recommend any of the three salads they have and try some wings, too! Fast friendly service.

It’s cute and all , however maybe not brown people friendly during night time at least. The atmosphere was super hostile and the bar tender and people inside were super passive aggressive.

I went here and picked up some lunch. I got the Take That Chick-Filla chicken sandwich with onion rings and it was PHENOMENAL! The chicken sandwich was one of the best chicken sandwiches that Ive had in a while. My food was hot and fresh and the boom, boom sauce was yummy with just the right amount of kick! The staff were nice as well! I will definitely be back!

Brett and team have really made this a top-notch space in Pontiac. I think most folks still associate it with night life but their lunch menu is bomb, and Sunday brunch on the patio is phenomenal.

Ive been coming for Karaoke Thursday nights for almost 3 years and it truly feels like home! Their food is to die for, make sure to try their poutine with several different variations - did someone say breakfast poutine with tots and a fried egg? And Tikka Masala? - not to mention the empanadas are heavenly! The drinks are well made (sometimes a little strong but not in a bad way) and the bartenders are all fantastic, along with the owner of the bar. And in the few times an altercation has arose, all the staff were on it. And big plus is feeling safe and comfortable, not only that my drink is safe but also myself.And the one rule for karaoke is Everyone gets cheered for!

The service was great, Fred was awesome. He was great conversation. I was clueless and he help me decide what to drink for the night. I will definitely be back, hopefully I’ll get to go on a karaoke night!

The owner came up and introduced himself saying he didnt recognize us as regulars so he wanted to thank us for coming. He personally told us item by item how to turn vegetarian menu items into vegan options. Even with cocktails the bartender was eager to make sure they were made well, and adjusted accordingly. I highly recommend this place for everyone.

Poutine was delicious. Llama drinks and fried raviololi also fabulous which came with a curry dipping sauce. The regular fries werent great. Definately worth paying a little more for waffle fries. We came to town for a comedy show and visited before & after bc the food & drinks were so good!Looking forward to trying brunch here.

I love Liberty Bar! I try to stop in a few times a month and the bartenders are always friendly, the food is delish, the drinks are made perfectly, and the prices are just right. Definitely worth stopping by if you havent before!

One of the best managed establishments I’ve been to! Open 7 days, food is always great: empanadas and burgers are my go to, and they always suggest the perfect beverage for the mood of the day.

Ill be honest: Im reviewing a restaurant and havent eaten the food! HA. Ill get around to it eventually.I used to be a regular here under previous management, and the situation was grim. The food was hit or miss. The decor was dark. The bar stools were shaky. The bartenders were great. The regulars were great. The management...not so much.The changes to the place with the new management - Brett and his gang of trusty reprobates - has been dramatic, and all to the good. All accounts Ive heard about the food have been very positive with special emphasis on the poutine (heard good things about the lobster), the wings and of course, the drinks.The bar has been updated with a much brighter interior, new furniture, and lots of improvements to the bar stock. The bartenders are fun to talk to, the regulars are a great group of people who have known each other forever. The atmosphere is very casual and relaxed and everyone enjoys each others company.its worth a visit. I dont think youll be disappointed.

Great atmosphere! Fred the bartender was amazing. Played all of my requested songs. Everyone was super nice. Food was amazing especially the fried PB&J. Love this bar much more than the ones in Detroit!

I’ve been to Liberty for karaoke a few times and always had a great experience! I haven’t eaten there since I’ve only been later in the evening but the service was quick. I just walked up to the bar as I was mostly standing and chatting with people. Great karaoke host and I hope to go again when I’m back in the area.

Liberty Bar has a great atmosphere, welcoming staff, and amazing food! Easy parking in a safe secure location in front or back. Went for dinner and started the night with a Thin Mint Shot that was delicious and top with whip cream. Order Chicken, Beef, and Guava Cream Cheese empanadas for appetizers (Highly Recommend). For the main course, had the Take that Chick-Fil-A Chicken Sandwich and fries and a Pinot Noir wine. The bathrooms were unisex and very clean. Overall great experience and even chatted with the owner, Brett, for a few minutes and he was very nice!

A smoky, grim atmosphere, an old cigarette machine in the corner, a jukebox with only three records (“Devil Went Down to Georgia” has a skip), and “You Dont Bring Me Flowers” had a bad hiss) has been transformed into an open, airy atmosphere with good lighting (especially after 2 AM) wonderful music with piano, karaoke and other events of note, and a very friendly and attentive bar staff (except for Pam, that slacker). The food is outstanding and the crowd open and accepting.Star EMS is just up the street in case of emergencies, and they add a certain flair to the evenings festivities as they wail by at inopportune moments, but hey, maybe that’s a plus, who can tell?Seriously, very good food and a welcoming crowd, great patio seating and lots of events. It’s clean, it’s not high prices, it’s comfortable, and just go..

Beyond amazing staff, fun atmosphere, and truly a cornerstone of downtown Pontiac. Come for the delicious food and stay to meet new friends. Liberty is a place to meet new people, try different types of handcrafted drinks (Vince must be magic I swear), and at the peak of inebriation get some really amazing bar food for when you and your new friends start singing on karaoke night.

This bar used to be run down and a hole in the wall. Although I enjoyed the people there and believed food/drinks were reasonable, the decor was worn down and outdated. Over the past few years the new owner has done wonders. Food menu has been updated, additional outdoor seating has been created, and the inside is stunning. So happy that the owner has invested not just in the bar, but in the patrons and the community of Pontiac. Thank you Brett!

After a show a group of friends and I went to Liberty Bar to see what it was all about. We were very happy with the service and drinks! Had a unique list of cocktails and a diverse food menu. The staff was very fun and even sang karaoke with us. Next time I’m back in Pontiac I will for sure stop in.

I am not gay but I love this place. The owner keeps remembering us. Went there on Thanksgiving and my friend and I were the first customers in the place. I have been to Liberty Bar many times over the last few months and will definitely keep coming back. The staff is welcoming and fun and the atmosphere is relaxing and uplifting. I am so impressed with this place and it has become the place to go to feel safe and have the best laughs. The weekly entertainment is creative and always entertaining and the food is just delicious. A real fantastic place!

I love this bar! Its easily the most welcoming and inclusive bar in the state. The staff are very friendly and skilled. Dont skip out on the food!! Their menu is packed with delicious eats. Not to mention my love for their Karaoke on Thursday nights! Cant say enough good stuff about Liberty Bar.

Had Brunch last weekend and it was amazing, the food and drinks were great! loved the waffle bowl idea, so delicious! Our waitress was super friendly and check on us often. Also I love the TVs playing 80s & 90s music videos. Defiantly found a new brunch spot!!!

This is a little gem. I love the sandwiches and the servers. A friendly place to sit, eat and enjoy. If you have business at McLaren Hospital or are just down town in Pontiac, stop in and relax. Its a great place.

Liberty Bar is one of my favorite places in the world. Pam is the best bartender I have ever met. She loves people and makes everyone feel like they are her best friend. Love her so much. She also makes amazing cocktails. My favorite is the Pink Lady (Gin, cream and grenadine). The Electric Lemonade is great also. Kat and Michael are also amazing bartenders. Kent, the previous owner, was a very kind man and I loved Liberty while he owned it. However, Brett has also done an amazing job with the bar. The new menu is wonderful. My favorite is the coconut shrimp with raspberry jelly and sweet potato fries. Outstanding!!!! Most of the patrons are kind, fun people. Terry is the best ever!!!!

I would give them a negative star… was here with colleagues on December 15th 2022.. we all ordered beers and food.. the server got my order wrong (got beef patty instead veggie) and realized it while bringing it to our table.. he himself said he’ll correct it and bring new one back.. we waited almost 2 hours after that but he didn’t show up with food.. I inquired about food for 2 times and he said it is on the way.. in the end I left without eating.. so the wait of 2 hours was for nothing.. never had such horrible experience of hospitality anywhere else in the world ..

The bar has had a decent facelift compared to years passed. Much more inviting and welcoming. The owner Brett is exceptional, as are the food and drinks! If you have a chance to stop in I would highly encourage it!

Very friendly and attentive staff. AMAZING burgers and a rowdy crowd. Neither myself nor my boyfriend is gay, but we feel very welcomed and enjoy the fun atmosphere. The owner has made his way to our table a few times to check on our night and he is a gentleman.

Great food and service but the drinks were awfully strong. I was excited to try their drinks because they have an awesome menu and so many things sounded good but the mixed drink I got tasted like straight alcohol so that was a bit disappointing as I’m not a big drinker so I don’t need anything super strong. Still a great place and I’ll be back

LOVED EVERYTHING!!! Didnt know my chili on my poutine would be cold though, I wish I knew and asked for it warmed unless it was fault of the kitchen and was supposed to be warm. Either way, it was delicious and Vegetarian.

Great friendly restaurant. Has an awesome outside patio out back very private and posh. Owner is great and food is awesome, servers are just so friendly. Its like a home away from home.

Drinks were okay. Music is not very smoothly transitioned and its alarming when the lights pop on and music stops at the end of the night. I guess that is standard bar practice but kills the mood for patrons trying to finish (and enjoy) their last drink. Otherwise an ok atmosphere, had a fun couple of hours there.

Cathy is the most amazing bar tender. She makes everyone feel so welcome. She goes above and beyond to make folks the drinks they desire and always is positive and upbeat. She never treats patrons as a burden but a blessing. Thank you Cathy!

I am blown away by how amazing this place is. We were in town to see a band and we ended up here, and what an awesome coincidence. The bartender was just such a nice guy, and the other patrons were so kind as well. If we ever find ourselves in Pontiac, MI again, we already know where well be having our drinks.

It depends on what you like. I like this place because they take pride in their food preparation. The menu is more than a typical bar food menu. The wings are great, wraps are good, and drinks are on point.

My girlfriend and I ordered MrBeast Burger from here and both of our burgers came back completely raw. We called liberty bar and let them know they sold us raw burgers and instead of saying anything else they hung up on us. This place is ran like a joke. The fact you think you can serve raw food and just hang up on people is ridiculous and we will definitely let Doordash know and I’ll definitely be posting on all of your websites to let everybody know you serve raw food and you have the audacity to hang up on people instead of saying “hey will fix the food.”This is the kind of business that needs to be shut down while there are other businesses that make a priority to make sure people get served healthy food that won’t kill them or give them food poisoning.I don’t care who you are or what you support as this is America and you can do as you please but serving people raw food is not how you’re going to continue to keep business.

Came here for karaoke and felt like I left with a giant group of new friends. Everyone is so kind and friendly. Drinks and service are fantastic. And the guy to leads karaoke can really sing his face off!

Mike was our bartender today and me and my fiancé just put a deposit down on our wedding venue. He seemed legit excited for us and bc there wasnt a huge crowd we got to actually talk to him and the other people who were there and all around i would say its just a fun place to go. Weve been there for brunch, late nights, all different times of day but having a bartender who makes you feel like youre part of the family when you come in really makes a difference. We love this bar ❤

It was my first time at Liberty Bar last night and I must say I love this bar! Vince was awesome. He held down the floor by himself and was a delight to talk to. The food is SOOO GOOD they have the best menu. I suggest trying any of the poutine!

The people who work here are just amazing!! Michael, Adam, and Danny always greet you with a smile, you can count on fast and friendly service always. Hands down my favorite place to go when I go out. Worth the 50min drive up there. Also, Pam makes the best soup 😋

Went for drag brunch and had a great time. They’ve really stepped up their game with the outdoor seating. Service was great, staff was friendly, and they had one of the best bloody Mary’s I’ve ever had. We’ll be back, and if you haven’t been yet it’s worth the trip!

Ordered here twice. First time they had a hair in it. I did recieve a refund and they were really nice about it. Second time they did not include an entire meal. Foods good but wouldnt recommend ordering from here

Stopped in with a special needs adult after he got out of surgery at McLaren -the Poutine was excellent! And, the staff couldnt have been friendlier. He got back to the group home and didnt talk about his surgery at all; everything was about the 🗽.

Went to liberty for the grand reopening on Friday November 17, 2019. I was amazed at the way it was redone. It felt like a place where you would want to relax and eat at.The cleanse of the bar with the new lighting and design. Felt amazing. Unlike before walking in felt like you were heading into a dumpster with music

Very sketchy neighborhood where it’s not uncommon to be approached by people walking by asking for hand outs . the food was ok. but not good enough to make it a destination . the gravy they are trying to build their name on would be comparable to browning flour then adding crisco , dont believe i will be visiting again

I went with my guy friend and it was great first time we went cause it was a Sunday they were open late and the musics from the outside sounded good so we went in it was awesome from the time we went in till the time we left I want to thank the bartender ADAM for how great of a host he is and truly made us feel welcome we will be back I loved the whole experience

We are Detroiters and decided to take an afternoon drive to Pontiac. We had no destination in mind but were hungry. We saw the welcoming lime green umbrellas on the outside front patio and decided to have lunch there (not comfortable sitting inside a restaurant yet due to COVID 19). Rating this bar with 2 stars is me being generous. Ive been to this bar twice, doing so taught me giving something a second chance isnt always worth it. The front of the bar is swarmed with homeless people begging for money, and the staff isnt much different. Its money before business for the bartenders, they were inattentive, unsociable, and didnt seem like they knew how to make a drink.Besides the bar being in one of the worst possible spot in Pontiac the drinks are cheap, which I dont understand with the lack of business. The back parking lot is a giant pot hole, and seems like a place that youre expecting danger.The drive to Pronto! or Soho, may be an extra 30 or 40 minutes, but it is overly worth it to avoid the boredom of sitting alone at the bar at 11PM and being ignored by the bartenders, maybe they were having a bad night, but I know I did.

Horrible place to go. The owner is rude and the dog food served there is disgusting. The lady there on Thursdays is great, but other than that, service sucks.

Rude and deceptive. When I walked in, I was one of three customers. The person behind the bar was talking to the other two, turned and saw me enter, then turned away to finish his conversation, never speaking to me. Then another person came out and I asked about drink specials. I ordered a bourbon and coke because he said well drinks were on special. After he had my money in his hand and Id sipped the drink he informs me that he doesnt have a well bourbon so my drink is twice what he said earlier. It was a decently strong drink though, just wish he had been upfront about pricing since I had asked.

The best bar there is in metro Detroit. Great food, unique drinks, friendly staff and they have their own music video system. Karaoke nights are especially fun!

I love this place I go here all the time andvisit my friend who works there its a great place you should try it they have all kinds of different foods and lots of different foods to try. Everyone else on here is just like this is some little gay bar but its more than that men dont even start dancing atthere until like 9 oclock for the rest of the time before that its just the family fun place

Went for drinks and dinner with some lovely ladies from work. We were treated to a fabulous time with very responsive staff. The food and drinks were generous and wonderful. We could not have had a nicer time.

Great little gay bar with regular people and not hard core. Everyone is so friendly. I will be going more often. My only suggestion: Turn up the music and have a small area in the front for dancing! Otherwise Im going to take off my clothes and dance in my underwear on the bar! lol

Been a customer for years spending my lunches and dinners here being supportive of the only gay bar in Pontiac, surprise to find out the staff consists of Shady and careless staff that only care for those with good tip money, and as for those that dont they prefer you not to come in at all , its really sad I really like this bar but just to get laid out and cussed out by the staff that pretended to be my friend its really hurtful, it really changed my opinion on this bar
