I didnt actually eat the food, but the Vegan-only food menu looked tasty, reasonably priced. The bartender (didnt get his name, sorry) was informative and he chatted with total positive energy with us. Hes not vegan yet loves the food! Ill be returning to imbibe with my Vegan and beyond friends soon!Thank you Unnamed Bartender
Diva drag brunch is amazing! The show itself is full of high energy acts and a mix of both traditional drag and burlesque. The food is very tasty too, I had the loaded tots which were super crispy and topped with a yummy guacamole. Support queer art!
The bartender either was already having a bad day or on drugs because he was so agitated and couldn’t even look us in the eye. Super twitchy and there wasn’t even anyone in the bar (there were 2 other people during happy hour). So many good place in the area, no need to tolerate the anger at this place
Needs a higher Dive to Swan ratio to be a proper spot for hangin out.Needs a higher Swan to Dive ratio to be a proper spot for dates.Daytime takeaways were watery cocktails and hard seating that seem to encourage staying briefly.Probably a cool spot during their dance nights? QR code food ordering direct from tables seems like it would be great on busy nights.
We had the opportunity to visit this restaurant & bar twice and had a great experience both times. The first visit was in the evening, they were having a video dance party with great music, fun drinks options, and we loved the outdoor patio with fire pit. The next day we came back for the Drag Queen Brunch. The food was delicious and the show was so much fun! Highly recommend.
Weve been here several times now and each time it is magical. They had a disco night one night with a DJ downstairs and when the blue light is on at the stairs you know there is a show going on at the floor above. There wasnt a cover and this made me sooo happy because I felt like I was there to actually see the band, have a drink and stay a while. I do wish the treble was better or I could hear the lyrics better upstairs but the free shows are nothing to complain about. This place rocks and is in our regular rotation now. Would give these people my money again and you should too. Drink prices were very fair.
Tonight I wanted to see for myself what all the hubbub was about at the newly rebranded Bit House Collective. We started our evening off with an array of their specialty cocktails. For myself I went with the Dickel Rye Manhattan while my friends ordered the Who Framed Roger Rabbit & A Texas Walked Into a Bar (who doesn’t love Mr. Pibb). All three were outstanding and I’d recommend. From there we shared a few of their main dishes. Longipan, Sinig, Sinigang Shrimp Chips & Lumpia. All of which exceeded my expectation in presentation, flavor and creativity. For this Filipino I was happily surprised and, at the same time, excited to see our people’s food being elevated and brought to the mainstream.I would highly recommend!
Swan dive is awesome!! Unique drinks and rad staff. Theres always a live show or a dance party or karaoke going on so anyone can visit regardless of their interests. The patio is great as well!! Food served up by gnarlys always hits the spot! For sure what Portland is about.
Great venue, good drinks, cool patio, one of my favorite spots for a chill drink by the fire or a show! they have, like, gourmet corn dogs
Swan Dive is awesome for a myriad of reasons. Good prices, kind staff, awesome back hang out sesh. The venue upstairs is way cool.
Full disclosure that I was already a fan of the magical mixologist Natasha, so when coming into the revamped Bit House Collective, I was fairly confident I was in for a treat, but they still managed to blow my mind with their fantastic cocktail concoctions. The drinks are an explosive, unique, sensory experience! I havent found one I dont like. Some extra special treats would be the Pandam Pandan Pandan Old Fashion, seriously, drink this. The Tokyo-a-go-go is also a crazy delicious and original cocktail, which also pairs well with the delicious Sisig! Another favorite is the Strawberry Soup, (its a cocktail, not a soup). These go down really easy and are going to be a favorite summer beverage. The food is also quite a treat. The Sisig is a tasty little rice dish with fatty bits of pork, a perfectly cooked egg and a couple of spicy little chilis on top. I crave this dish in my sleep. The vibe is also very fun, its an eclectic little spot with beautiful exposed brick walls, a tropical plant mural and comfortable seating. They usually have some good jams going and I forsee some dancing happening here post-Covid. The staff here are also very friendly, attentive and fun. This is going into my rotation as a new regular spot! They are also very Covid safe and have a patio out back as well as some outdoor seating in the front!
I came here with some friends for their 80s night and had a blast as we heard some very popular songs from back in the day. I was a bit disappointed with their food selection around midnight as I thought they would at least have a bigger selection for as many people who were present. I saw a lot of snack foods which I wasnt to privy of. I enjoyed the atmosphere, the old fashioned dance floor vibe they had going. They had some nice drinks and I enjoyed it for what it was. Will I go back? Ill probably hit them up every once in a while, but its not my typical haunt Id go to often.
I love that they serve plant-based Papi, awesome no fake meat vegan food! BUT the service of bit house honestly makes me not want to even go there.I get it’s mainly a bar but they really do the barE minimum, unwelcoming, unattentive, barely say anything, no positive energy. We ordered to go & my food was burnt to a crisp, not sure if this was papi made but I don’t think he’d appreciate it.I went back for the remake, no sorry, no thank you for understanding, nothin.BIG LAME
If you haven’t been to a Drag Diva Brunch show on a Sunday or eaten the vegan food here, you must! Lovely place all around.
Mangorita looks like an adult caprisun, so thats an instant win. The staff is very responsive and respectful at this delightfully decorated western themed bar. They are great for events and I certainly enjoyed halloween here last year tons of fun. Beer selection is unique and always changing taps to keep it interesting. I didnt try the food but Ive heard it is good, give it a try and let me know if the food holds up.
Great place. Havent had a chance to order food. Drinks are good and service is fabulous and inviting. Karaoke is really fun and their sound system is the professional type with the great KJ Jess.
One of my favorite bars in Portland. Staffed with friendly, drink-crafting savants. Ideal, central location in a gorgeous old brick building with wonderful character. Come to dance, or chill out on the cozy back patio, complete with fire pit. Or see a show up stairs in their dedicated music venue. They even have pinball! The only thing theyre missing is a Salsa night! : )
Love the variety of events produced at Swan Dive. Always a to go to for live music and the best drag brunch in Portland (Diva Drag Brunch)
I love this place. The staff is outstanding and the sunday diva drag brunchIA amazing. Best in town
As always, Jessica the KJ rocks 😀😀😀 repeat karaoke star at Swan Dive for me love it
The service was swift and friendly. The all vegan menu was excellent, and everything was tasty.
Im so glad Honey Butter is out of their kitchen because that kitchen deserved so much better than this less than friendly and judgemental bar staff. Thats the last time we go there after a night market event!
Went here for a Synthwave show and was not disappointed. Their upstairs music hall is moderately sized and perfect for catching an interesting band. They also bave a full bar upstairs which is nice. The only unfortunate thing is their upstairs venue is not ADA compliant. So no persons with mobility differences will be able to attend shows here. I hope they address this in the future.
Words cannot do justice to how amazing my cocktail was. If youre a piña colada fan, I HIGHLY recommend their Painkiller drink. Its made with a healthy portion of rum!! Ill be dreaming of this place for years to come. Extensive selection of craft beers and wines. They also have mixed drinks on tap. Great atmosphere here, although there is only 1 stall in the bathroom so dont wait until you absolutely have to go. Plan your bathroom trips smartly! Otherwise, definitely recommend this place!!
Love the atmosphere, friendly knowledgeable bartenders, great drinks
Just a late afternoon Gnarly’s burger. As always amazing quality vegan food!
This space has always been a really cool place unfortunately the bartender was very rude to my partner.
Amazing rebrand and remodel from Bit House. New music loft is awesome!
In Portland for business and stayed a few extra days and discovered a cool bar. Great music and amazing Bloody Marys. Caught the Drag Queen Diva brunch and it is not to be missed! Delish brunch and nonstop entertainment with the show. Audience energy was so fun. Wait staff was on point. At night, great outdoor space with fire pit.
I was really surprised to stop in on a Saturday night and be the only ones there. Even the DJ wasnt around for about 95% of the 30-45 minutes we spent there and no bartender when we were leaving either. Seems like it could be a cool place if there was actually anyone around.
We had a group gathering for karaeoke night and drinks, Ben the bartender is very friendly and attentive can fix any mix you ask. Jessica at the karaeoke is very attentive and knows all songs !! If you forget that kareoke song you like to sing, she will match you to a song by looking at you. We had a really good time at the Swan Dive. (didnt order food, it was late night).
I went for Drag Brunch. The food was simple but very well executed. The signature drinks were incredibly delicious. The Drag show was unbelievable. So many top notch performers. Highly recommend!
Great bar, friendly staff, good drinks, and vegan food.Definitely recommend you give it a go.
I’ve been here for drag brunch many times and it’s loads of fun but Went here for new years. It was okay. The DJs were wonderful but bartenders were kind of rude. I was charged $7 for a “shot” from the upstairs bar but the shot glass wasn’t even half way full…. Bartenders downstairs were serving full shots. One of the bartenders wasn’t very pleasant to talk to and even responded with a snarky “you can have one” when we ordered an AMF. I understand places limit the amount of AMFs you can have but my friend and I were barley buzzed and he could have said it in a nicer way. That wasn’t the end of it but i dont want to make this lengthy.
Its good for a dive bar. We played trivia there on Wednesday night. There is a restaurant there but its separate from the establishment. We didnt get food, just drinks
Highly recommend the Drag Diva Brunch on Sundays. It sells out so make sure to purchase tickets online ahead of time. I recommend having 1s to tip the entertainers (although they do have runners to change out bigger bills). The host was amazing, as were the entertainers. However the menu needs help. Had I just gone there for food I would not go back. Limited choices, overly salted potatoes and undercooked eggs. Thankfully the Drag Queens made it worthwhile. Highly recommend going, just eat before you go and enjoy drinks instead.
The ambiance and drinks at this place are fairly good. It has a music venue on the second floor and active happy hours. The service workers? Friendly and very Portland, huge kudos to them. The only real issue is parking, and the gluten free emphasis is just...well, the results taste okay(ish), but theyre sacrificing pleasant mouth experience for it to be gluten free. So, recommend, but not the hardest one I have.
This place has evolved significantly over the years. Always a great selection of beers, cocktails and whiskey. Dedicated GF kitchen is a nice surprise. The food has always been hit or miss here. Consistency being its worst enemy. French fries are top notch. Burgers and sandwiches do not disappoint. Nice patio with fireplace. Definitely worth stopping by for a drink or two.
My entire experience at Bit House Saloon was great from start to finish. When I arrived outside the doorman kindly greeted me and asked for my ID. He then told me that the concert area was upstairs. I proceeded upstairs and found the dance floor relatively empty. I was a little early so I expected it. The bar upstairs was easy to order from and the drinks werent too expensive. Theres a water station away from the bar so that people can get water easily. Thats a nice plus. Overall I had a great time and no complaints. Ill be back to try the food downstairs.
I’m a moth and neon signs are my flame, this bar is a goldmine. Each room cracks open even the rustiest black heart a little more, and a little more until it’s shining like a disco ball. If you need me I’ll be lounging in the solarium, cocktail in hand.
They have themed nights. But when you arrive, the bartender thinks the themes are funny names, and nothing is actually happening. Its just an ordinary night at the bar. Dont waste your time believing anything is happening here.
Super fun/inclusive environment with a contemporary meets classic bar program featuring bartenders that know their craft. I was visiting the area on business and fell in love with this little gem. I ended up returning several times in the same trip and having a FABULOUS time.
Huge outdoor patio with a firepit although Id imagine one would want to get there before we did as there were no seats left 😜
The bar back was really nice to me and my partner. But the main bartender that night appeared really aggravated with him and seemed to take it out on my partner and I when we asked to have a drink that we didn’t order taken off our bill. The atmosphere is nice, but I probably wouldn’t go back.
Great food. Great prices. Great staff. Ultra-urban back patio. Morrison bridge entrance view. Watch people test ride bikes in the River City Bicycles parking lot behind the patio. Then, after the bike shop closes, skateboarders show up and use the build in ramp in the same parking lot. Very entertaining! Love this place on a sunny Sunday happy hour. Oh yeah...also GF food...all of it.
This review is from a drag brunch we attended today. The queens were AMAZING!!!! But everything else was bad. The brunch menu consisted of one item, chicken and waffles with a fruit cup. Most of my table ordered this. The waffles were obviously frozen and cold, the chicken was also cold (like ice cold), and the fruit cup was a sad plastic ramekin with a couple of grapes. For 15 dollars. They were out of some of the drinks on the printed paper menu. They also ran out of bloody Mary mix and instead of telling our table, tried to serve them bloodys with this gross pickle juice. Also, the mimosas were the tiniest things I ever did see.The server seemed just over it all and would frequently walk away before the entire table had ordered.Overall, a fun drag experience but no brunch about it.
Great bar with a wide-ranging happy hour. The drink selection was varied whether you wanted highballs, beers or cocktails there was something for everyone. Our server was very accommodating and personable with our large (and loud) group.
Old time Saloon feel. Menu is unique. I enjoyed the pecan smoked wings with pickled celery. Other patrons seemed enthusiastic about their food orders. Bartenders get an A+ for being courteous and attentive. Customers seemed to be aged 35 and above.
Ok, this place has changed significantly from a year ago. Came in because my go to joint was remodeling and I remembered their happy hour was ok. Not anymore, new ownership and new menu. Better cocktails than before (in fact, now in my top ten for my favorite bourbon cocktails in town). Very good happy hour food. Not a huge selection, but everything I had was very good. Try the wings and the fries!
A cool place to get some great tasting bourbon at reasonable prices. The bartenders are knowledgeable about the bourbons (depends on who is working that night) and are friendly. Its a large space with plenty of seating area both inside and a backyard patio. They also have an upstairs area that usually is open for certain events that they may have going on.
I was really excited to come here but left disappointed. We sat in the back patio and we were the only ones and waited 20 minutes before going inside and asking for a menu and waters. After that, it took awhile for our server to greet us or take our order. It wasnt until two other tables got seated after us that our server came. My boyfriend and I came because of the Magna menu we saw on their website. We showed up and were told the menu and kitchen had changed that day but their online menus and QR code menus on the table were not up to date. It was no big deal and we figured wed just get something else. Three things we ordered after that were also not available. After waiting an hour for food and watching other tables that came after us get their food, our server asked if we had ordered food. We thought it had taken awhile but with a new kitchen, we were pretty understanding that maybe they were getting accustomed to the kitchen or something. When our food did come out, someone new brought it and apologized and told us we wouldnt have to worry about the next round of drinks and that shed put in that order for us. Our old server came back and asked if we needed anything and we said we were waiting for our drinks. She said the drinks never got put in. Our original server never came back to our table after that and we had to ask someone else for our bill.
This Review for the bar only we did not eat food here though we look forward to going back for the grub from plant based papi. The spot is nice, parking is a nightmare, the drinks are polarizing but if you do happen to go there hope you got ample time as youll be waiting for some time for your order, hoping this is a temporary thing due to labor shortage and will only get better and faster.
Fun and safe place to dance for all types. CBD drinks available to this who don’t drink.
Great music ans venue. Nice lil fireplace out back. The bartender with the mullet is top notch - drinks are always better when hes making em.
The staff here is amazing! Delicious drinks, cute back patio, plenty of room to move around so bring your friends. I will certainly be coming back.
$10 animal fries with fry sauce and slimy onions... small portion and very cheap ingredients. My friend ordered the regular fries, which came with a side of the same amount of fry sauce for almost half the price... on top of that the server was rude and didnt know any of the bar stock. Honestly one of the worst bar experiences Ive had in Portland. Wish I could have got my money back for those pathetic fries. The quality/portion size to price point was absurd.
I didnt try the food but the atmosphere is excellent. The old movies projected on the refurbished picture frames is a great touch.
A lovely spot! If I want a themed event to go to, I come here.
One of my favorite bars, based on servers/bartenders and environment. It has a lovely dim candle lit setting with seating all around, including a nicely set up bar area. There is a great smoking patio with a lovely fire pit to keep warm. Its located in downtown SE Portland, near other great nars and restaurants. I always meet very friendly people, always resulting in great conversation. I will always return to Bit House! The new bartender David, not only handsome but very knowledgeable on his booze and cocktails.
The new expanded menu is absolutely delightful. Its all gluten free (which doesnt affect me personally, but its great for those who need it) and I initially ordered the Delicata Squash with a Quentao, and I say initially because it was so phenomenal I had to try the Fried Cauliflower AND Garlic Fries too. This locally owned bar is sure to be a frequent stop every time Im in the area.
Been here a lot and waited to make sure I was giving an accurate review. My work is only a mile down the road and i was looking for a good place to finish a lot of those small computer tasks/ catch up work. First and foremost the staff is amazing. They are very attentive to your needs or should I say they care that you are there and want to have a good time or at least enjoy a drink. The bald guy whom I yet to remember his name is good at making whatever you ask including making a random drink which is awesome (ask for a Spanish Tuxedo,.... amazing) I have been around all Portland and have been to expensive bars/ restaurants and cheap places. This is so far one of my favorites. If I had to say something negative the music can get loud but I dont mind as I actually like the music they play so to each his own on that one.
I really loved this place. Good drinks, good food, great beer selection. The tables and leather chairs are cozy and inviting. The only reason I didnt give it 5 stars is because the indie screamo music was so loud during happy hour that my friend and I couldnt hear each other over it and on an 80° summer day, it was warmer inside than out.
Drag brunch was insanely fun. Great food, mixed drinks were great. Queens turned it out, will definitely be back.
Bought two tickets to the drag brunch, and was seated in the back behind the DJ booth, could see literally nothing. Super bummed as we were really excited and wanted to go to the shows regularly. I won’t be back.
Once I found out the menu was revamped by the same chef at Magna I had to check it out. Every single dish was on point, we ordered the lumpia, chicken wings, crab fat fries, sisig and took the cheesecake to go. My only complaint was one of the gin cocktails the server recommended was gross. Otherwise we really enjoyed the music, friendly service and the incredible Filipino food!
I hope that the owner will read this review. My sweet friend is too sweet to write this herself - but when I heard about her experience I felt like it was important for the owner of this business to be made aware. After online communications through someone managing your instagram confirmed her a reservation (the online reservation system disappeared WHILE she was reserving) - she showed up to find out that no one actually placed a reservation for her and her family - AND, though the website doesnt mention it is 21 and over, her family was turned away for having minors in the party. All of this could be blamed on poor communication, but things got worse when, instead of apologizing for that miscommunication - the host treated her and her family like a problem or like people trying to get away with something. This family came to this space SPECIFICALLY to support and enjoy the food of a guest chef. The food - as always - was delicious. The service will keep them, or any of our community - from visiting this place in the future.Have a talk with your host from last night. As a business owner myself - it would mortify me to think that a customer had that kind of experience at my business.
Needed a place to pregame for a show. Great place, awesome feel. We asked, how is the kitchen, the manager said it excellent. Best tacos we have ever had. The tostada was amazing, the flavor was so good. We are going back.
Cool place. Nice ambience, decent drinks. Came here for an event in the space upstairs and was disappointed their upstairs bar really didnt have much variety but it makes sense if they dont use it that often.Went downstairs after the event and got some food and cocktails. Cocktails were decent and pretty creative so I really enjoyed that but food was lacking. Definitely wouldnt come here for the food. We got calamari and the wings and they didnt seem to have much flavor to them (which was odd considering what they were).
The perfect Portland bar. Unique and weird in its own special way. Great selection of local draft beer and cider, wine (also on tap), great single barrel spirits (ALSO on tap), craft cocktails (hand-crafted and housed mixed on tap), and fun delicious food! Fancy options and economical options. Classic styling and no noisy TVs or Lotto, although there are a few pinball games for the wizard in all of us. Al Green was playing in the background last time I was in....This isnt a sports bar, its a place to come chill with friends in a cozy setting. You may learn a thing or two as well! The bartenders are all very knowledgeable, and they act like a big family. :-)
Im so happy that I get to enjoy plantbasedpapi at more locations especially at the iconic bit house. The food was obviously amazing... and so were the drinks. Our waiter was very helpful and attentive.
My sisters old work place, the East Side Saloon. Came in to have 1 drink and tried the lumpia. Great place, good drinks and atmosphere. Cute gays hanging around, must be the spot for the gayborhood. I shall return! 😊🍹
This place is great if you want to have a good beer or drink in an environment that isnt a typical bar. There are no tvs, just some music playing quietly. Wonderful if you come here after working in a loud atmosphere, like I do. The food menu is...unique. Havent had any of the food, but it doesnt really seem like my style. Slightly pretentious. The cost also reflects that. There is a back patio with a firepit, which is very nice of you go in the evening.
Vibe is super. Food is delicious. Cocktails unique. Staff is the nicest. DJ music so annoying we had to leave. Would come back if they made it stop!
One of the highest end low key bars you can visit. Great service, better atmosphere, and the best patio and fire pit in the downtown area. Not to mention that the liquor and beer selections are on point. Oh, and dollar highlifes, every day. If I had three thumbs, Id throw em up.
It was the first HH drink that I never feel happy about. We arrived at 5:45pm and waitress didn’t even take our order until 6:20pm. It took longer than 45min to get our first drinks because their bartender was too busy flirting with other customers. We actually found that that bartender is general manger. No wonder why.
Love this place since vegan Plant Based Papi showed up! Service is fantastic. We love the food here — though we do miss the vegan quesadilla, the elotes, and the old chicken sandwich — so good! Hope those items make a come back. Either way we’ll keep coming to see what Papi has in store for the future!
Charming place, with candles on the table.. but the club upstairs with loud music really ruins the place. The bar has it own music playing that get drowned out by the floor terrible sound from above. Lastly the drinks were weak and pricy.Plus side, does have a nice firepit out back.
The Drag brunch was well worth it. Great venue, excellent food, drinks and service! The show was extremely entertaining!
Menues are digital accessed via qr code, but most everything on the menu was not available. They also change the menus daily so if you were to go in expecting an advertised dish, they may not have it available. Carne asada (grilled steak) is actually mushroom which tasted ok, but was a surprise. I ordered the elote and the piece was small and soggy as if it was sitting in water too long. For the price we paid and for the long wait I dont think it was worth it.
The prices are a little high but the beer is very high quality and the place has a great layout. They also have some great events. The food is not that good but its Vegan.
Great ambiance, very friendly and welcoming vibe with a nice staff to match. Food was wonderful and served quickly after our order was placed without a depreciation of quality. Heather Joe is an absolute joy of a bartender.
Wings are great. Taste like they were cooked over a fire. In a good way. Also the fries are amazing. We had Guinness because it was St Pattys Day, they poured it by the book. Highly recommend.
We came in late in a Saturday night in December and busy but amazing drinks. Beautiful bar with dark brick and wood. Water in tables in bottles . Cute booths, tables and chairs you can push together and hard working staff
A buddy in myself came in one night. I went to the restroom &, met this guy. Ex-Military as myself &, offered to buy me &, my buddy a drink. A very hospitable place. The atmosphere is very chill. The people are warm &, receptive. By the way that was some great whiskey that he served. They have a place upstairs for private entertainment. Id check it out its worth creeping into if, you know what I mean.!!!!!!DL, Sparkman.
All types of people come here. I enjoyed myself and was surprised at how well the theme of this bar worked. Hip-hop/R&B old west saloon. This place is something special. Dont write it off right away if you initially dont think its your scene. Grab a drink, go sit out at the fire pit, relax and engage someone in casual conversation. Who knows where it will take you and youll be surprised by who you meet.
It was cool place, friendly patrons and reasonably priced drinks. Theres room to dance or sit.
This is a new space for me in Portland and I really enjoy the 80s themed nights they do and specifically some of the Bands Depeche Mode Joy Division takes me back to my college days but with much better cocktails now theyve just started serving food as of recent the cocktails are still way above par the service is still impeccable the food needs some work they serve these things called Corn Pops with fries but they forgot to mention they were vegan they were very disgusting and they made me quite sick but the grilled cheese was delicious so as they continue to work on this new phase of this great new space I look forward to coming back more frequently
I liked the crowd here, mostly 30somethings. I got a burger and it was tasty, though small, and the fries were noteworthy. Took quite some time to get a drink at the bar. The photo booth ate my money, as well as another persons.
To preface, the Drag Queens at the Drag Brunchwere incredible however everything else was awful. The mimosas were $9 for basically a sip and the flavors was not noticable (we got spicy mango and passion fruit). They only had one thing (chicken and eggos( on the menu for food, which came out cold. They ran out of bloody marys within the first hour of brunch. Our table was never cleared off so our dirty dishes sat their for the whole drag show. Service was slow. Overall bad food bad cocktails wouldnt return, drag Queens were the only saving grace.
Their elk burger is one of the best Ive eaten and the seasonal peanut butter stout is my new favorite beer. All of this and a fantastic atmosphere with great service. One of my favorite bars in Portland.
This is my favorite whiskey bar in Portland (other than Ronnie at the MAC). it is low key and deep. it does not want you to be impressed. it wants you to sit back, not think too hard, and have a great drink, or it gives you the room to geek out on since barrels and distillers resumes.its dark in that moody way. lots of places to get comfortable and lost in plain sight. my favorite is the fire pit in the back, ringed with chairs. the tacos are good. the chicharrones are awesome (whiskey & chich....the best).
We stopped by for cocktails and sat on the patio. Bartender was amazing, truly talented! Will be back :)
Its a great and damm good saloon, and the staff there so awesome they are there too make sure that you enjoy yourself, but also the watering hole, thats what I call the bar because thats what it is in the first place. And if you go and dont have nobody to talk to and dont know no one, well this is the place just for you. Because you never know you just meet that spacial person
The weekly tuesday shows are my lifeblood. They also have great cocktails and amazing deals on wells and tallboys. The staff are friendly and efficient as well. Definitely going to continue to frequent this place.
Awesome bartender! Thats first, cuz he was on point. Secondly, the drinks were excellent. Then the photo booth, which gives a cool little finish on the strips (tho the light to notify you of when the camera goes off wasnt working, so the in first pic we were like duhhh) and the overall atmosphere is just dope. Peep it, people!
Warning to folks who are looking for a gluten free restaurant: This place no longer has a GF kitchen and has not responded to questions about the preparation of the supposedly couple of GF items on their menu. It’s such a shame, this used to be one of my favorite restaurants, my go-to for birthdays and meeting with friends. I have celiac disease and have to be super careful. Sadly they’ve abandoned their gluten free format and now do not seem safe to eat at. It’s a major bummer that they’ve abandoned their main clientele. Guess what guys, it’s not just the celiacs you were catering to, it was also their friends and family dining out with them. Yet another restaurant serving unsafe food labeled as “GF” and endangering people’s health.
Such an amazing speak easy vibe going on in this iconic old Portland building. Exposed brick moody lighting galore. Very professional and knowledge staff. Take a step back in time and have a unique libation in Portland style.
Great gluten free bar food! It is everything that we have missed. The burgers are amazing as leftovers also. We are excited to return and try more of the menu!
Great food and drink. I wish I knew that they are a dedicated gluten free (gf) facility sooner though! Their chicken burger is my favorite thing on their menu.
Loved the atmosphere, and the service and drinks were incredible! But strongly disliked the music they played.....Bohemian Techno. Ugh. Great experience minus the music, which really didnt match the look and feel of the place.
Good place for a large group of friends to gather. We had about 50 of us and the tavern did well at delivering our food in a timely manner. Great service but the food was just okay.
Was surprised that they not only had the whiskey I enjoy but they had every flavor that the company has. I was able to try before I go to buy. Was happy cause I have wanted to try them for some time
Brick walls, hardwood floors, dark-stained wooden tables and chairs, leather-upholstered seats, and a Happy Hour good enough to bring you back every day. Id say this place is just my vibe, but Im too busy relaxing to the chillhop soundtrack while sipping a whiskey-ginger to care.
Should invest in some sound treatment for the upstairs room, would make an incredible improvement to the audio.
Honestly the best bar in this city. Great cocktails (get the punch) wicked whiskey selection, awesome service and most importantly, pinball &a patio. Love this place!
Went for night out with my daughter and tried their new Filipino foods and theyre superb. Employees are very friendly and very nice ambient for a sit down restaurant while having your favorite drink.
Went there on a weeknight. Very slow,no clients on the bar except 2 couples. Two girls working behind the bar and couldnt get any help for 12 min on a slow night. They helped a client that came after me to close their tab and get to go boxes. Went across the street to Dig a Pony and got attention right away in a busy setting. Sad.
I went and saw Eyes of Arcane there and they were amazing. The place has a great atmosphere and the staff are very friendly and nice. It has a warm and comfortable vibe. I love the fire pit in the back.
Your friendly neighborhood saloon and cocktail lounge. One of my favorite patios in the city - dont miss the list of boilermakers if you like your beer with a side of spirit!
They have a dope DJ on Friday nights who plays ALL VINYL and plays absolute cuts. I’ll keep coming back to dance for sure
Mehhh... it was alright. Nothing special compared to some Portland Bars. The service was a little slow too. They do have a nice variety of drinks tho. I wouldnt go out of my way to go back here, but wouldnt be opposed either.
Ive never eaten here. Ive only come for the music. Its a good space in a good location. The drinks seem to be reasonably priced. And, the staff is plenty friendly.
As good as it gets! Great food. Cocktails made to order. Great service. Great patio. Love the old aesthetic of the interior. Parkings not bad.
Very knowledgeable bar staff that makes excellent cocktails. The food was awesome as well. Space on the patio was perfect for a summer night.
Portions were underwhelming given the price/quality of the food (particularly on the fish and chips). Waiters came back three different times to our party as they ran out of items/drinks. Service all around was slow and no one greeted us for 15 min. upon entering. Go for their whiskey menu and the flank stank if you want accompanying food.
The staff here are rock n rolling amazing! Cocktails so inventive and fresh and satisfying. I love Brittney Nathaniel and Brittneys husband whose name is escaping me at the moment.
Went for the gatsby party on new years eve. Had a wonderful time. Wish there were more appetizers but had a really great time.
Amazing atmosphere, the drink selections were creative and tasty. Our server Jimmy provided the best service we have had in awhile. Well def be back!
Great drinks and beer and a good happy hour. Food changes every few months, usually very good but can be uneven if they are just getting started in their stint there.
Went here for happy hour and could not be more happy. The wings with blue cheese were the best I have ever had. The place had a great vibe. Will be coming back for the bbq plates and slushies. Classy af.
With so many closings in Portland, its great to land at Bit House Saloon. Good beer and food selection, and the patio is great even in the cold weather with a fire going
Cool back patio and a beautiful space with high ceilings. Theres a weird pop-up club space upstairs thats fun but can change the vibe when you hear pounding through the roof...
If zero stars was an option I would choose that instead of 1 star. I can talk trash about the rest if the place but the first thing id like to comment about is the first thing youll encounter, which is their bouncers. Total douchebags is an understatement. If you like being treated like a total piece of trash this might be the place for you. Otherwise make sure you ask if theyve been fired since the date of this post, if not, theres plenty of much higher quality bars in the immediate area so dont waste your at this crappy bar. Good hunting :)
Cocktails were tasty and the Magna food was phenomenal. We ordered almost everything on the food menu. I am Filipino and this is Filipino food at another level.
This is the spot! Best place in Portland to get great drinks, service and fun music! Run, dont walk!!
This was a vibe that you just got to visit and feel for yourself. A good 80s night and the staff seem pretty chill.
Natasha made the best drinks I have had in a long time. Excellent service and wonderful craft cocktails.
Went there for a show last Tuesday. Awesome Building! Great drinks, really friendly bartenders! Highly recommend!
Super chill vibes, dark high ceilings and candlelit chats. Good beats and bites! Sometimes dj jams upstairs but always bonfires on the back patio🔥
Took too long to come take our order, even longer just to get two drinks. Oh, and our dinner--they ran out just before our order. But the chips & queso were good, so theres that.
Very good drinks! Drinks are some of the best food is amazing. I loved the Blueberry Tea. For the bad, its very expensive drinks are small.
They have a great soundsystem and a large stage up stairs, downstairs they have a full tall bar and table seating. Outside they have a nice fire pit to hang out by.
Ok whiskey sour. Great beer cheese soup. Good wings. Good beet salad. Beautiful space, but loud! Very hipster vibe.
Good food, excellent cocktails. The service is slow and the music can be a little loud, but the comfy leather chairs are great to hang in for a while.
Great bar with an amazing selection of beverages. Outdoor space out back with a fire pit. Plenty of booths and seating for enjoying in privacy.
Great cocktails. Jesse Card is a master with his concoctions. Food is also good , in the wonderfully renovated East Bank Saloon.
I can’t not believe it took me this long to try this place! The food is all celiac friendly and the vibe is amazing. It looks like I found my new favorite place to just hang.
Cute place with a great bartender. Drinks and food were excellent
Dim lighting makes for a very personal and romantic dining option. Great for a light dinner and drinks. They make a delicious old fashioned.
Superior drinks and food to the place across the street but not as visible being tucked behind the bridge off-ramp. Great patio in the back that I didnt even know existed.
Nice little saloon. The drinks are very well made with care. The staff is nice and friendly. The overall atmosphere is very nice and welcoming.
Amazing! We did the dealers choice drinks and were not disappointed. Great atmosphere, delicious food, and friendly staff.
This place is so cute and the food smells so good. I came in for a drake bell concert and I was very impressed with how they accommodated it. I will definitely be back.
Fantastic cocktials. My favorite old fashioned in town. I love grabbing the punch as well. Upstairs happens to host some fantastic dance nights on the weekenda.
Love this place...good food and great drinks with a spacious out door seating area. I will definitely come here again when in the area
Definitely has a fund, speak-easy atmosphere. They have a couple vegan options on the menu... personally a fan of the roasted nuts.
Plant based papi food is insanely good! Love the atmosphere and the cocktails are delicious!
Excellent celiac friendly menu. Great drinks. Awesome venue. We’ll definitely be back.
That is one cool place. The upstairs party room was perfect for the Halloween party. Classic bar, wood every where and dimly lit.
The food was average and over-spiced we waited about 20 minutes after ordering before we even got drinks. Overall I did not find this place to be friendly or the food worth it.
Food is unreal! So good! Cocktails are on point! Fun atmosphere with good music, bartenders and patio.
What happened to the service here? They had everyone order at the bar, but required IDs for every drink order, so there was one huge line that the entire bar was waiting to order and get carded from, as they hurry everyone along as if patrons are the reason for the slowdown.
I had an old fashion that was made with apple smoked cola syrup. Also had the bar chips. They charge for them but they are the best I have ever had.
Its a gorgeous space. Sexy old Portland exposed brick. Fire pits out back. Drinks are always great.
Beautiful decor. Went upstairs for a comedy show they have every Monday night called Hey,Partner. Super fun.
Incredible collection of top shelf, creative classic cocktails, beautiful space, epic date spot, killer service, and so damn affordable ! Plus peanutbutter stout ?
Amazing time went for a drag brunch! Excellent customer service and an all around great atmosphere.
Cool atmosphere with a great drink selection. Also a firepit in the back patio area is always nice!
Great cocktails! Awesome food. Fire pit on the patio. Fun atmosphere.
Nice bar with a decent outdoor area. Waitress seemed snappy and a little rude and it wasnt that busy.
Great drinks, cool backyard, big space, fantastic private party capabilities. I really enjoyed my time here and will be back.
I found that Barbie head behind a light fixture at the table. It scared the bejeezes out of my friend. Then we saw a band play at we all got schwifty. Great night!
Really tasty cocktails and super friendly bartenders. Cool little venue upstairs as well!
Although off its early highs, Bit House has friendly staff, very good cocktails, and makes a whisky sour the way the lord God intended.
Small space for a music venue. Good liquor selection. A bit pricey. The crowd there is somewhat elitist.
Nice place. Good drinks. I have to go back for their Old Fashioned menu.
Hidden gem. Dance club upstairs. Great beer tap list. Across the street from digapony (spelling?)
Great venue for a small crowd to see a local band. Food can be ordered downstairs but we carry it ourselves upstairs to see bands playing.
Amazing atmosphere, affordable drinks that were made very well, and mood lighting was perfect.
The cutest little bar ever! Total hidden gem
Amazing atmosphere and stellar food. Service is on point. Great DJs on the weekends.
Went there for salsa upstairs. Great dj and good atmosphere
