Downstairs where the music is played was awesome. The people were nice. The show was great. It was a very comfortable atmosphere.Upstairs is a completely different place. The people are snobby unfriendly and the food is not very good at all. Will definitely avoid upstairs next time Im at that place, but I will very happily go downstairs and listen to the music.
Such a fun night! Great venue. Great performances. Be ready to dance you butt off to some funk every first Friday and plenty of shows throughout the weekend! Drinks are nice and string. I recommend the Moscow Mullet, GoodFoots spin on a Moscow mule, if you love a spicy ginger kick. Will definitely be back again!
This venue is super chill! Great music selection and good atmosphere. The only thing I would warn people about is some creepy older men who go there at night. I took a few photos of an older man who tried multiple times to creep on different women. Just look out for the older men who go there please :))
Went to the bar upstairs and liked the food and drinks and the open area with pool tables and art work, downstairs is the event/music area with cover charge. We should have stayed upstairs because its cold in the event area (40s outside and 2 large fans blowing in the outside air). Wish we didnt spend the cover but we will come back to the bar again. (I will update this review after another visit.) FYI great staff.
Unlike other jams, every one that wanted to play Got to and you could tell the atmosphere is about the Music. It has been more than 23 years since I have been at The Goodfoot after my night there and all the toe tapping I will return G8 folks that runs theSession. Thxx!
This has been a Portland staple for me since I moved here. There’s not too many places that revolve around music and games over drinking great place to meet new friends everyone’s always respectful and lighthearted, including the security.
Great local music in the basement and multiple pool tables upstairs... A taste of old Portland.
Pool.50cents , 7.00 drinks at happy hour. Food is fantastic and affordable prices. Recommend the kale ceasar salad with chicken.
The down stair was had worse service. The bar tenders were super rude and felt super rush and I wasn’t even done asking for our drink and the older lady was already trying to charge me. Also they guy was super rude awful place to go. We only went to see our friend Dj but worse place wouldn’t recommend. At the entrance the guy wasn’t even going give me my change and was asking to pay again seem to be intoxicated.
The people who work here are amazing. Sam, especially, took really good care of me and my friends tonight! 🧡
I felt like to need to provide a bit more details. Ok I will add a bit more details to below complaint. In response to DJ Anjali. The reason it felt it was racial profiling by the club employees because I was asked to leave as my friend who is Indian was drunk and might have shown aggressive behavior. Perhaps there was compliant against him. We had a 3rd friend with me. She was completely surprised why I was asked to leave. I was given no reason!! I think everyone deserves a bit respect. Just because I was in the vicinity , I should not have been picked up as bouncer thought I look like Indian. To DJ Anjali , I am still a patron of your show. And I wish you and your show very well. I have been going out in Portland , Seattle and around the world for last two decades, this type of treatment hasnt happened ever to me! There is plenty of friends who can provide testimony about my respectfulness.Unfair Treatment and Possible ProfilingDespite portraying an outwardly liberal atmosphere, this experience felt tinged with underlying racism and a blatant disregard for the respect owed to a fellow human being.I recently visited Good foote and was very disappointed by the staffs poor handling of a baseless complaint against me. I couldnt help but feel that I was singled out due to my Indian appearance, as if I was being profiled based on the actions of someone else of Indian origin. The staff rudely asked me to leave, providing no clear explanation or evidence, leaving me humiliated. I cannot recommend this place as this experience made me question their fairness and professionalism.
There is simply no place like the Goodfoot for music. Great staff, excellent drink prices, fast service, and just feels like home.
Saw a great band here, cool basement venue with a good drink selection.
When I first got to Portland in 1995 I discovered The Good foot living off the Hawthorne. The place had lots of character, good drinks, PBR, and great dancing in the basement. Fast forward till today, took my wife there, had a great time. Always a great place to visit. The bartenders are friendly and top-notch. The atmosphere is very much Portland. A great cross-section of Portland and Portland culture. Without overdoing it. Play pool, have some food, maybe some laughs at the comedy night. Or go dancing. Great place to be.
This is my favorite place to eat and hang out in SE Portland!Lately I always get the same thing - kale Cesar salad with chicken strips - because its just that good, but Ive also tried every burger on the menu and never been disappointed! Its a bar, with a great beer selection, pool tables, pinball machines - the whole nine yards. The food is good enough to qualify it as one of the best American cuisine spots in Portland! The walls are full of inspiring art from local artists, and the music selection is eclectic and amazing - exactly what youd expect from a place that hosts a hugely popular music venue in the basement. You can get your dance on, support a local artist, hang out with friends, or go on an upscale date. You can even hang out and read a book, or get some work done on your computer. This place has it all - even great Wi-Fi!There is ample seating outdoors or indoors, and plenty of parking street-side or in the surrounding neighborhood. The outdoor seating is smoker friendly, and there is a secret-but-not-really-secret balcony where you can grab a smoke and admire the artistic wall graffiti. Get your dance on downstairs - then cool off in the AC upstairs and play some pool!I absolutely love this place, and Im sure you will too! I think it will remain a Portland favorite for another twenty years. The staff is amazing and friendly, and they keep the place really clean, even when its busy.Put on your dancing shoes, put your Goodfoot forward, and head on down!P.S. Seriously, try the kale Cesar salad with chicken strips. Omnomnom!
This was my first time there and maybe it was an off night but, the place was a little empty, I thought. It does have a nice, big dance floor, but not many people dancing. Maybe it was the band playing (which I thought was good) or just the mid-week crowd, but there seemed to be an overall lack of energy or something. Ill try it again and see if its different on another night.
Fun, eclectic space. Had a great night watching local comedy in the basement space downstairs. There weren’t many chairs downstairs for extra seating. Seemed like they were letting more people in to stand for lack of tables, and didn’t provide enough chairs for the extra folks. We ended up squeezing in with a nice couple we didn’t know, so it ended up being lovely!
Monday night comedy was great. Funny, cheap, and good drinks. Try the mint rum drink. It will not disappoint. The chicken tenders continue to be pretty good, too.
This is a great bar. Once a month, art show/change over with DJ Kaeli Hertz. Good food. There is also a music venue downstairs. Its always a good time at Goodfoot.
I totally thought I left my card there, but they cleared it up and I was confused. The review is for five star bar and food service above and below, as well as five star customer service over the phone when theyre busy.
Goodfoot is a great venue. Killer drinks, great vibe (energetic, good sound, but also has spots to chill if you want to), and great live artists
Goodfoot hosts comics on Monday nights. Its a great place to grab a laugh as there is not a bad seat in the house. Their cocktails leave something to be desired; stick with beer.
The venue downstairs is a little on the smaller side but the vibes are immaculate and DJ Anjali and the incredible kid know how to lay down the beats. Coming early is a plus but sometimes not necessary. It’s next to an amazing pizza place BabyDoll pizza. Can’t beat a night out in this little neighborhood! 💖
Atmosphere was so cool. Music was great. Drinks were delicious. I actually saw someone drug my drink and I immediately told a bar tender. He and a bouncer were so proactive in helping me find the guy and feel safe. They were absolutely amazing and I will definitely be back. Thank you so much for making sure your customers are taken care of 💕
I had a wonderful time dancing at the 12/28/22 show. The bar tender working took great care of me. I used to not really like this place back in the day. The feel is different now though. Ill definitely be back.
Goodfoot is a classic Portland spot. The upstairs is roomy with several pool tables, good music, art, and well priced food and drinks. I love their classic burger and fries!
I like this place. Its cool. Good atmosphere but the drinks are weak. Anyone with a tolerance best be getting shots with a chaser. Its too bad because I love cocktails 🍸
Hey its your girl DJ Anjali & I would like to reply to the ripan das review. This fellow had been a regular at my parties for years. We shoulda 86d him a lot sooner for sketchy male behaviour but we finally did in 2019 & now hes back to complain, thefk. Let me tell it to you straight bhai, bodies in the club are not up for grabs. When you have a real complaint that involves actual racial profiling let me know. We take that very seriously. You might have noticed why we no longer play certain Portland clubs. It adds up. P.S. I adore the staff at the Goodfoot, they been taking good care of me since I made them my home club in 2013.
Worst place I have visited in Portland. I hoped for a mellow place. I felt Bartenders and bouncers are very aggressive and profiles people after their race . someone else with brown skin might have done something funny. But I was asked to leave without giving any readons. Felt humiliated for no fault of mine. I m never ever visiting this place. Place is also super shady and dirty restrooms. For a place like that I expected more friendly stuff. They are one of the worst I have ever experienced. !!
I went for the second time for a friends birthday and it did not disappoint. Creative menu and tall shots.First time was before lick down and its still the only real dance floor Ive found in the city. If you know .. you know.
One of the best bars/dance spots in town. Always a great display of art near the bar upstairs as well.
One of the worst discrimination I felt. Bouncers are outright rude. I just had a first sip of gin and tonic and was asked to leave. I had no clue what happened. I have visited many fancy as well as dive bars around the country and world; People know me as the easiest and friendliest person to chat with. So this definitely felt very bad. Dont want to pile on more complaints here. But this place also has the worst unclean restroom!! Definitely not going back there anytime!
This place really good food as far as bars go. I love the upstairs has local artist paintings that change fairly frequently. Not to mention lots of pool tables, downstairs is usually live music and another bar great place to go on a Friday night for dancing and to check out some live music. Pretty cool place overall!
Great drinks. Went for a show. Scott Pemberton never disappoints 👍🏼
Great venue with an open dance floor and a regular roster of good times. Tropitaal party had me dancing all night. Theyve got a great selection of brews, and creative mixed drink specials at great prices. Upstairs and downstairs.
My friends love this place. I really enjoy they food their. I like the sandwiches. The art that is always changing is great. It is usually fairly open unless their is a game, and then after is it packed with drunk Blazer fans. The stretch of bars on the street is fun. It also is really nice that the venue is downstairs, so you can enjoy your time without having to hear the bands.
Honestly, Ive been a frequent customer for 10 years and have had a great night EVERY time. The staff are incredibly friendly, most have been there for years. Burroughs puts a lot of care into the pool tables. Ive never seen Dan not smiling. Luke always has a minute to catch up. Back in the day, Joe even let me borrow his cue from behind the bar to shoot. Chances of getting a pool table are really good any time with 4 to choose from. The art openings are massive, not to be missed. Hell of an opportunity for local artists. The shows down stairs are a blast! Great sound with a lot of energy. Everything on their menu is delicious and caters to all diets. I highly recommend the Portobello sandwich, if its still there upon reading this. Hands down, my absolute favorite bar in Portland.
It was cute but the cover for the dj was outrageous for what it was
Really chill place with lots of space, and a great selection of funky art to hold your eye. The painted smoking patio is delightful. The drinks and grub were pretty standard, and the bartender was friendly and mellow. Look forward to returning for event nights.
This was a really fun spot for dancing on the first Friday of the month. The DJ kept everyone moving and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. I think my only complaint would be that it was a bit dark and I had a hard time seeing. But the energy here was good and Ill definitely be back again for more funk nights.
Great Space! Pool Tables, giant bar, live music downstairs, relaxed atmosphere. Didnt try any food but had a great time here. I was definitely perplexed by the bartenders upstairs, service was prompt but I almost felt like they didnt want me there. Brusque and cold are the first words that come to mind about the service upstairs, and it definitely got pretty close to just plain rude. It started with the first drink I ordered and continued through the evening, I certainly wasnt the only one who felt this way either. Maybe they were having a bad night but it definitely rubbed me the wrong way.
Great spot for pool and dancing. The upstairs is a cool lounge area with 4+ pool tables, featuring local art and lots of table space. The downstairs is a dance club which is super fun to get some grooves out - warning ceilings are super low so it can feel a bit constricting. Bonus, Babydoll pizza is right next door for late night snacks.
This place is great. Open and inviting, good food/drink selection and a fun environment. Theres also a dance floor located in the basement if thats your thing. Definitely check it out!
A rare neighborhood watering hole in Portland where youll find 20-somethings and 50-somethings eating and drinking in the same place. And its a big space, with a couple pool tables, pinball and a ton of local art up on the walls. The food was really solid and the cocktails were on point.
A great location with an upstairs Tavern and a downstairs music venue, I had a lovely time. Their food is absolutely amazing, you should definitely try their hot sauce! The staff was nice and kind and the food and drinks were all delightful.
Great venue, great people and great beer! Went here for a downstairs show and even though they opened later, we had a good time upstairs waiting. Pool tables here and dark beer. The Bottom floor had really good lights and the bartender was quick with the drinks. A bit dirty, but appropriate for this place!
Its still the place for some drinks, eats, and pool. Also, great music downstairs, always a blast. Security could use a chill pill at times, but they do have a job to do. Maybe do so with a little respect for the patrons.
The best little dive bar in Portland! This place has got it all, from good food/strong drinks to a rotating local art showcase. I highly recommend you check out some music downstairs. They always have a good rotation of bands playing each week and the cover charge is usually next to nothing. Their staff is also full of fabulous talented people who truly have a special place in my heart. Love you Goodfoot, dont ever change!
Only been once, but Man what a Blast! Friendly staff, the tribute to Erykah and Jill was glorious. Diverse crowd gettin down on the dance floor. Delicious infused cocktails, reasonably priced. $2 coat check and as a lady this part is important, I never felt harassed or unsafe. Had to turn down dance propositions but never had to say No twice, I was left alone to dance by myself in a sea of like minded people grooving to the energy.Edit: went again after lockdown. Just as chill as before.
Great bar at the top and music venue in the basement. The layout of the venue is a little strange, making views a little hard, but otherwise its great. Johnny Franco is my favorite artist to see there!
I stopped here on a Friday night for a disco/funk night. I loved the music the DJ played and had a great time dancing on the dance floor. Cool divey space with a unique atmosphere. I would come back!
This is the best venue for music in Portland. They always have talented musicians and an enthusiastic audience. The food is delicious and the is a great selection of beer and cocktails. Ive been dancing at the Goodfoot since 2002 and its my second home
Great place to hear blues, funk, reggae. Everyone comes to dance. I rate it 5 for dance music but 1 for venue. The Goodfoot needs to find a venue that doesnt feel like you are in a musty cave. Super low ceilings and jam packed with people; the only thing that keeps me going is the music and dance crowd. Never tried the food, but there is also a restaurant upstairs. Be prepared to park 2 or more blocks away because there is only street parking.
Great place for dancing. 20 - 30s age mostly during my visit and very social down to earth...dancefloor downstairs and fun cave theme. Upstairs has pool tables, pinball machines and lots of artwork from local talent, and this inquiring mind learned artwork is changed out each month...amazing creative talent worth seeing. Same age crowd as downstairs with same fun friendly attitude. Staff were great as well and loved their fun, friendly, helpful professionalism :) 👍two thumbs up👍
Saw Shafty, Portlands own Phish tribute band. I had such a blast! So great, definitely going to see them in April.
Upstairs: Always rotating in super rad new art on the walls by local artists, big open room w/inviting vibe, really great foods and boozes, pools tables, pin ball machiness, and a cool little smoking patio.Downstairs: Always fantastic shows going on, great dance floor, bar, soul night here is THE BEST. Too much fun. So great.
Great live soul, rhythm and jive music. Get ready to dance your socks off! The energy in this lounge hits you square in the face as soon as you walk in. You can feel how happy, friendly and present people are while at this venue. Once youve experienced Goodfoot Pub & Lounge, youll yearn to revisit this uplifting environment filled establishment.
The bartenders on 9/23 racially profiled my friend and refuse to sell her drinks because “she was too drunk” when she was the only sober one in a big group of white people. They clearly don’t care about the kind of people they hire. I won’t go back until they change the staff.
Upstairs is really cool and seems really large with the high ceilings, with walls lined with show posters. Downstairs dance floor has a hidden vibe with a packed dance floor. When I went I wouldnt call the music played on-genre, but the vibe was ripe and ready for grooving. Had a blast 🕺!
My wife and I are from out of town. We had the most awesome experience here. Bartender was great. The people were fun and interesting. The music was finominal beautiful awesome. Come here to live and be happy.
The food is excellent!! We went as the pizza place next door was packed. The salad, burger, and fries were delicious. Cant wait to go back! Try the beet salad!
Great place for live music, cheap beer, and free pool most nights. They feature different artists every couple weeks to a month so the atmosphere is always changing. They’ve even got a couple pinball machines and a photo booth upstairs if you’re into it.
Great food. Good drinks. Art is a rotating selection of local talent. Pool. Photo booth. And pinball. Fun spot. Lower level has shows very cool atmosphere.
I love this place. Been going here for 13 years. The upstairs is great and the downstairs venue is even better. Ive had so many good times here over the years. Still gets 5 stars even though a crotchety bartender threw me and my sister out last summer because my sister who was cut off was holding my drink so I could tie up my hair.
The short bartender downstairs was kind of rude. Everything else was great. Smells unique downstairs though.Upstairs bartender was friendly and fast.
Hadnt been back since Covid, came to play pool and see the art. Cool display/atmosphere, but would return just to see the bartender. Erin was rad, my friend and I left talking about how awesome she was. 🤙
Great atmosphere downstairs. Dancing encouraged thanks to strategic placement of chairs and tables. Upstairs music wasnt as good, but Id still hang around. This place was busy, in a good way!
Upstairs there is dining, pool, a bar, and a strange art gallery. Downstairs there is a bar and a smallish dance floor where people get down to funky music. Sometimes there is a cover. It doesnt really come alive until after 10pm. If you go early, its free but dead.Sometimes they have live music.
Great spot for pool, although it can be a little chaotic at times with music and crowds. The poor bartender was doing 20 different things, may have needed another person to assist.
I come for the live music downstairs. It gets active and the atmosphere is always a blast! The cover charges are questionable at times, but its all good. They have free pool upstairs sometimes and I can dig it.
This is a two-level bar and dance club. The upper level is the bar with really good food pool tables and a great staff. The lower level is a dance club that consistently Place great music. It would be hard not to have fun at this place.
One of the coolest bars in portland with local art such an incredible vibe highly recommended to anyone local or visiting!!!
I only ever go to the Goodfoot for their famous once a month, soul dance night in cave like basement. It can get pretty crazy and crowded on those nights so spacious upstairs can offer a nice breather. Soul night can be fun, but it also means parking can be rough. Better to ride your bike there.
Been here a few times over the past several years, and keep coming back. Free pool on the weekdays, great food, good drinks, great atmosphere. Place is pretty quiet until 9 or 10pm, then can become pretty crowded. Get the salmon burger
Love my little se portland basement jam paradise!
Drinks aren’t very good, and service is not very friendly. Fun place to play pool. Definitely a dive bar!
Love the Goodfoot! Excellent place to go dancing. Upstairs bar has lots of pool and a good amount of space. A little bit pricey on the drinks but that will happen.
Head upstairs for a great dive bar. Great house cocktails, pretty affordable. Free pool on Sunday’s. 50 cents rest of the time.
First time here. Just had some drinks and played pool. Didnt go down stairs, but was a nice place to stop and have a drink. Pool tables were good.
Food was decent. Playing pool was fun. Dancing downstairs was great. Bring cash for a cover charge. Overall, a great place 👍
This place is usually crowded. The food is ok and the drinks arent anything to write home about. Its good a good mix of people in there. The music on soul night is really good, they play alot of old school stuff! But its usually too crowded to dance.
Classic Portland dive bar. Curated art gallery that is rotated roughly every week. Decent food menu with a very solid vegetarian menu. Ok drinks. Pool tables upstairs. The venue downstairs is uh, special.
It is a difficult place to watch any band as the dance floor is the same level as the stage. The ceiling is low and does make me feel claustrophobic and it has a cement dance floor so is very hard on my feet. Its really too bad too because they have some of the best bands playing there.
Good infused drinks, fantastic art displayed, great food options even for the pickiest eaters (i.e. any of the burgers can come salad style = giant bed of mixed greens to hold your meat or incredible house made veggie pattie). Oh, yeah, and cool shows held on the lower level.
Gallery nights yall. This place is like two different bars. One is more of the bar and gallery area (upstairs): the space is large and fun and there is always a TONNE of art to look at. Downstairs is more clubby and dance parties abound. Worth checking out!
Great bar. Friendly staff. Good drinks. They have pool tables and pinball and constantly display local artists work on the walls. Thy have live music downstairs some evenings.
Its whatever, very crowded and cramped dance floor so prepared to get bumped/jabbed and sweated on. Place sometimes draws a strange crowd. Also once everyone is in that odd sync drunk zone the crowd get a bit aggressive, but besides that they make good drinks.
Chill vibe with cool local art on the walls and pool tables to entertain the gang. Fun date night or night out with friends.
No frills downstairs bar and dance space. Attracts a diverse crowd. Good music. Average drink prices. Upper bar area serves food and has pool tables.
This place is really fun and empty. Not a lot of people are there anytime I go which means we get drinks and food pretty quickly and they bar is basically a hug room with pool tables. Its a great place to go and relax.
Weve been showing up there around six on Fridays for drinks and dinner.Havent tried the entire menu but the Civic Dog, American Mac &Cheese are favorites along with their Goodfoot Burger which has assumed its rightful place as my second-favorite burger. Plus, Dustin has given us excellent service.Wouldnt mind a bigger wine selection and to carry Pendleton. 👍 👍 👍 👍A couple months later and the cook has come up with a fried wonton Reuben. Turns out he makes his sauerkraut, pastrami, kimchee... Hes been great about helping Dustin out with the service as well. I love this place.Btw, I was the first to order the Reuben. It was *so* good...
This place is hands down the best funky, dank and dark venue in the area. Featuring great local acts: Swatkins and the Positive Agenda, Yak Attack, Asher Fulero and many others. As well as out of town acts: Mctuff, Robert Walter, Skerik to name a few. AND, if you just want to chill, the upstairs bar is usually packed with art that is almost always for sale, and has 4 pool tables and some pin-ball.
Cheap & delicious beer! Also infused liquor makes for some delicious house cocktails! Art is all over the wall and for sale at decent prices for a gift!
Goodfoot is always fun! free pool, awesome happy hour, pin ball and rotating artist galleries cover the walls! then downstairs they have a dance bar with lots of fun events and artists! Funk night gets ...funky!!!
I havent been to the lounge upstairs only to the underside of the bar. We went to go dance for the night and sure enough the place was kicking off and packed but unfortunately I found the sound to be abysmal and so had to bail but its worth checking out.
Great place for music. The garlic fries will leave you wanting more, even though you know you shouldnt. Get there early if you are there to see a good act, the place fills up early.
I always love going to the goodfoot. its tucked away over on the east side but every time iv been there I end up dancing and having a great time and I dont even dance. Funk nights are super fun. Other times they just have great bands. last night they had a 7 piece band that rocked the house. negatives are that they always charge cover when there is a band and it is never fun to pay a cover. boo!
The dancing was great, the music was fun and the bartenders were quick not to mention the lines to the bathrooms werent terrible and the fellow patrons were polite.. I always have a good time here :)
Refused to serve us without our corporate immunity booster cards. Even though I have lab proven natural antibodies from previous case of covid. I stand against discrimination and fascism. I stand for freedom.
I used to live near here and liked the place. Now I live 5+ miles away but would like to check it out again. Its been years!
I love this spot for dancing! Recently I experience Tropitaal night for the first time -- Super danceable fusion of LatinX tropical and Indian music. Wow! Great DJs
The goodfoot used to be my favorite venue, until they became hyper vigilant about the vaccine. And where has the jab gotten us, I mean, really….. lost my business
Great dive bar/dive club (if that’s a thing) upstairs is pool, pinball and local paintings. Downstairs dance club often with live music or a DJ spinning great dance music.
Goodfoots upstairs and downstairs are 2 very different places. Upstairs is a cool pool hall. Downstairs is the ultra awesome basement music venue. Good beers & drinks on both levels.
My only complaint is the bathroom. But, it was bad enough to warrant a one star review. The sink was full to the top with fetid water and a five gallon bucket sat beneath, also overflowing. The stench of sewage and urine was like a physical force pushing against you as you tried to quickly get in and out. No hand washing + lots of drunk people + filthy conditions = disease vector. The owners need to spend some money and take care of this.
If you have an itch to dance, but like socially dance where conversations can be had with body movements and body language. But the choice of music used to generate the feet on said dance floor, on a Friday night mind you ........ Wasnt dancey, beat worthy, familiar, or anything anyone else seemed to want. Very friendly staff be however!!!
A two story music venue, top half for food, drink and pool, and the down stairs which you have to leave the building to enter. Is for concerts and other live events, and has a full bar in both areas.
I always have a good time here!
Really nice pool tables upstairs and always a solid dance party happening downstairs. I especially love the Goodfoot on Friday nights as they tend to play some really solid funk music and a bboy cypher tends to break out (pun intended :)
Excellent basement dance floor, and the Friday Night Soul Dances are the best! Every one is there to dance and have a great time. Highly recommend this amazing venue!
Boring and kicked my friends out for no reason. They’re homophobic and saw a gay man walking out of the women’s restroom and kicked us out.
Good funk night and good people.
Great place & setting, long established to catch local live music. & Friday / weekday dance parties!!! Food upstairs is mad decent as well.
Cute pub feel. Lots of arcade games and pool. Live bands frequently play in the basement. The drink menu could use more variety, and the food could use more for the price.
I wish theyd clean and ideally remodel their bathrooms - the womens room disgusts me. Low ceilings, basic drinks, fun dancing when the music and crowd is right. Often college-y
Such a good place to hang and have fun. Bartender wait is minimal and they are optimum in getting you what you want/
This place is such a great bar! They host the the prince night dances and also has a bar with pool upstairs! The bar staff is hella legit. This is my new go to spot! Check it out and get loose!!!
If you love dancing, youve come to the right place. This is THE dance club in Portland for dancing, not picking up a hot date, although bring one, theyll be impressed, but ONLY if you LOVE to dance
I am not in love with the Goodfoot as some people are. There are some people that speak of the Goodfoot as an almost holy place. Its a bar. That has some pool tables and plays music.Ok, now that thats off my chest, lets talk about it honestly. The Goodfoot is really two bars in one. Upstairs is a bar, hangout, with some pool tables and seating. It can get crowded, a bit too many Portlandia cliches and ironic facial hair, and bad art, but it is an oasis on Stark that makes living in the area ok. Upstairs has nothing to warrant my hanging out there, other than when you get there just at opening, youll get a good pool table, and a cold one.Downstairs is different. Its a lounge/bar, with live music or djs and people who usually are there for the music and not to hit on people. Covers are reasonable, and the line up changes, youll find posters plastered all over Buckman, or look online for whos playing. It can take a while to get a drink, and theyre not necessarily going to impress you, but they will quench your thirst and loosen up your booty for some shakin action.
Bartender said he couldnt make an old fashioned? Fun vibe though, I guess
Great pool and nice drink selection. If you see a local named Harold there tell em WOULDNT YA KNOW WHERE THE BLUE FERN GROWS haha he will tell ya a story.
The Goodfoot is lively neighborhood pub upstairs with great bar food. Downstairs is a solid music venue that delivers great dance nights and solid performers from all over.
Friday night for soul dancing. Great vibes but I should have brought earplugs. Fun times and folks giving you a bit more personal space than downtown clubs.
4 good condition pool tables, good bar service, recently updated good menu which is pretty tasty, and plenty of space. There is always a cool selection of art on the walls.
Live comedy show. Very funny. Good drinks.
Soul Stew! Located in the basement of the Goodfoot and definitely brings out your dancing feet! Just a note: CASH ONLY for the cover. The dancing floor is so tiny. Its really hard to dance in a 1 foot square so if you dont like getting jabbed, grinded, pushed or poked... dont dance! Go upstairs to the pool area and grab a beer/cocktail and relax.
Bam.Do you love a dungeon basement feel yo dance in?This is your door on the right to use!Variety- Rythm -RAW-HOUSE !Check this place out find a DJ on the website and enjoy!
One of the best places to dance in Portland! Meet chill people, see amazing funk bands play pool and get a pretty dang good burger at the same time.
Great drinks, loved the pool. It was loud, but thats just because its really popular.
Good Food, Great Music. Friday night Funk night is the only night they have a DJ, but it is totally worth it. Its a really fun night dancing to funk!
It was a cash only night with an empty ATM. So I got turned away. Maybe next time I can leave a better review. I give it one star for having friendly professional security and staff.
New Years..my 75th..they played 60 RnB on 45 vinyl. Mostly 20 to 30 yr old crowd..fun time.. Great venue..
The music was ok, but no one was dancing, they were just standing watching. Also it was quite loud for the space, low ceilings. Ear plugs recommended.
All major phish shows simulcast here, small intimate venue downstairs, great artwork from century of starving artist, smoke out on corner by vacant corner lot to keep it on dl.
Perfect basement rock music joint. Pleasant staff and a good drink selection. Seating is scarce but thats part of its unpretentious appeal.
Great atmosphere, good drinks and inexpensive pool, just remember to bring a lot of $1s for the change machine since the bar wont give change
Very laid back and relaxing vibe. Good beer and people, mixed with good music. Also, they have pool tables and pinball machines!
Super fun venue for music in the lower level, and hanging out and playing pool on the upper level. Wish their beer selection was a bit better is the only knock.
Standing only... was alright. Kinda smelled funny, nice bar staff but security was a bit rude, maybe cuz they gotta be? Definitely better choices out there.
I like the performance area being located on the lower level. The separation between the two sections is nice. Its also a intimate performing space without feeling too small.
Fun place. Good drink selection. A few pool tables available. Staff was super nice and helpful!
The Goodfoot is a really decent dance venue in Portland that isnt over priced or pretentious. Good for a fun time and reasonably priced booze.
Free funk tuesday is the best! This is one of the best venues in town. Seems to be poppin regularly. Affordable beer is nice too.
Great live music venue. I see Shafty here. The downstairs is big enough with easy bar access. Very intimate area to see a band, love it!
I went to the open jam and the music, atmosphere and staff were extraordinary
3 pool tables put your name in the list you play the winner, they dont mix drinks but have some pre-mixed drinks they serve some bottled liquor and some beer on tap and bottles!
Best place in town to see local music. Vibe is dark and much like a well produced basement show. Will return as often as possible.
I have had so many good times at the regularly scheduled music events downstairs at the goodfoot. I particularly recommend the funk jam and Tropital as they have super good music to dance to.
Great dance parties, well priced drinks.
The bartender refused to serve me a drink as the only one in a big group. Seems to align with most posts here about a racist bartender.
Not too bad. Friendly staff. Music was not bad and they have drinks here. Dancing, and lots of it!
Art shows and pool upstairs - music and bar downstairs. Nice neighborhood spot to check out some local music and art flavors
Good vibes, billiard tables upstairs, bumping dancefloor downstairs. So laid back, you cant go wrong here. Relax and have fun 💃🏾🕺🏽🎉🎉🎉
Great, small, and cozy atmosphere for Friday night funk music to dance to. Young crowd, reasonable drink prices.
Perfect for soul music, funk music and jazz.Great dancefloor.Drinks are good but not great.
Good beer, plenty of pool tables, and lots of floor space. A bit dingy, but nothing you will think twice about if you are only there for drinks.
Great sounding room :) friendly bartender girl.
I danced all night on soul night. Was the best night. Loved the bar, and was able to check jacket at the bar. 6 stars.
Kellè is one fabulous bartender! She is cute, full of spunk and will make your trip worth it!
So my husband tried to get a painting from this place, and one of the bartenders was rude cause he was asking some common questions, calling him silly and making the bouncers follow us around making me feel uncomfortable, i think if your job has to do with treating different people you have to have the costumer service skills, and dont act like you own the place cause for silly people like us you pay your bills.
Not as cool as it was a couple years back. Unfortunately, feels very corporate. Too bad to lose a once good venue.
This place really helped me out. I am able to walk with no pain for hours when before i could only stand on my feet for 4 hrs before they would start to swell and hurt. Thanks for all your help its like i have new feet.
The family is strong, even the annoying little cousin! Lol, the list over greatness is too long to type, just check your attitude at the door, then there is nothing left to do but Smile, smile, Smile!
We danced for hours the Friday before Halloween! Great music, great atmosphere, great drinks ❤️
This is one of the best dance spots in Portland, especially if you like soul, funk, and something a little more interesting than Portlands lame night life downtown.
Othership Connection was amazing!!! Farnell Newton, Charlie Brown III, Arrietta Ward and more! I had friends visiting from Tacoma, WA. Took them to the Goodfoot and we had a blast!!!Goodfoot..! Goodtimes!!!
Really good and safe place to go to if youre looking to dance to foot tapping music. Went with my girlfriend and had an amazing time.
Too crowded downstairs and the music is NOT as funky and danceable as it used to be. But the pool tables and burgers upstairs are awesome!
Great staff, nice little basement dance party space. Bands vary, some djs, lots of hippie dance rock and some really great jazz
First time here and its a nice vibe. Love how they display other local artist artwork. Pool table was fun.
I went to see a band in the lower portion and had a blast. The sound was great and the bartender was friendly.
I always like the mood of this place. It can be both mellow and busy, they always have rotating art thats interesting, and the bartenders are friendly :)
Good beer, plenty of bar games and you can usually catch a badass shower here from free-$15!!
Upstairs for food, downstairs club vibes. Go upstairs via exterior doord facing street, club entrance thru tunnel at corner of building. Cannot bring drinks between the two spaces.
Kind of an underground dance pubs hangout place it was good music and fun people with a very limited selection of beverages but it was okay and I would go back
Danced until midnight. The ceiling is low but the space is cozy. Lots of fans keep it cool. Bring hearing protection!
Really really nice place with some good funky/house music. Food is good and people are niceYou should definitely go there
