Over the weekend, I was in Belltown with my girlfriend and we passed by Ora. They informed us of the genre of music playing, we werent into it and politely declined. We later got in a disagreement and when walking back and clearly distraught, the same staff working the door made a condescending remark towards us which was completely unjustified. We were not rude to them earlier, and were merely passing by. We did not stop in front of the venue to make a scene. We simply kept walking after the comment as opposed to engaging. This was absolutely uncalled for and we will forever remember this nightclub as a place where people are unnecessarily rude. This is an awful look for your business.
I came to Ora to dance but I left as a new man. The management was super supportive in my transformation and provided me with all the tools necessary to reach a higher level of confidence. Mad chops to Tommy for the great LSD and to the coat check lady Danielle for being so incredibly kind to my giant coat hanging needs. And lastly, Pappy G, the owner, you are the bright light that keeps us moving forward. Thank you my man for allowing me to crash on your office couch after our amazing late night conversations.
It was my first time going out to ORA Nightclub and I had a really good time! Security guards were nice and effective, and the music was very very good! I’m new to the edm community and this nightclub was very friendly and fun !
You will see a lot of 5-star and 1-star reviews of Ora, but no nuanced, more objective feedback. They book solid artists, and they advertise their price online. The bouncers have a tough job, and deal with many uncouth, upset folks Im sure--but in my few visits I have not found them to be reasonable w/ reasonable people. If you like the artist playing here, dont let any other reviews dissuade you. Drinks are expensive in any major city....simply pregame....bouncers can be tough in any city...simply respect the difficulty of their job and the fact that many inebriated individuals develop a disproportionate sense of entititlement and auto gas-light themselves into thinking they were wronged. This trend I find, especially as an east coaster, to be all too common amongst Seattle reviews.Specific to Ora: Ya expect NYC level $12 bud diesels, expect a cover charge, expect a coat check....but also the sound is pretty solid for Seattle, they book fairly solid artists. If concern for the prices, maybe order one less Uber-eats or door-dash meal and you immediately make up that cost for an actual experience rather than saving yourself the effort of walking less than 1 mile to grab that late night gyro.
To sum up our experience: full of misogynistic & aggressive male staff.Th music is SO loud in the main room that you cant even enjoy the music in the front room. Some lil guy - not exaggerating… interrupted the DJ four times aggressively and told them to turn the music down/ making it sound like a distorted mix of music from both rooms . Worst club experience ive ever had. Would say NOT safe for queer ppl. Worse than supernova.
All I purchased at ora was 5 dollar coat check, yet I had a 60 dollar charge from them in the morning. Have yet to hear back from anyone in regard to this. Definitely wont be returning.
Came for kpop night and they only had one line for non ticket and ticket holders. The line didn’t move at all. None of the staff were accommodating. I never made it inside at all. Waste of a night trying to get in even though I had a ticket.
Went to see Billy Gillies with my girlfriend on 11/18/2023, the set-up is very modern with a great stage both upstairs and downstairs. Staff were friendly and helpful. Coat check was $5 per coat, they mentioned that they didnt have a dedicated coat check staff that night but things werent too busy and it wasnt an issue. We didnt order any alcoholic beverages, so I cant say how expensive they were. Make sure that you read the FAQ to know their expectations for attire: rave wear and tank tops are not allowed but many were wearing t-shirts and comfortable dancing shoes, so its not as strict as I had thought just by reading their website.Overall, had a fun night and would definitely go back to Ora to see another show.
I enjoy the music DJs from the top level: such a pleasant environment, the lights, and the DJ cabin. The staff from the bar was not friendly, and they were kind of rude. Its weird because the owner is always there, and I wonder if he can see how the staff treats people.
This club is AMAZING, two stories with varying music styles and a great club crew. The owner was very nice and the fact they have three stages is crazy cool. I came to see one artist and ended up seeing another one entirely downstairs AND still seeing the one I paid to see.As somebody who works in SEO and the music industry, I know these one star reviews are the result of review bombing NOT reality. Drinks are normally priced for a venue, the staff is nice, and having a dress code is respectable for a club this cool. Some people need to get a grip, this is my new favorite club in Seattle and I will be back time and time again.
I love Ora. Ive made some great friends here and seen some of the best DJs in the world. I wish the sound system had a tad more juice, but it doesnt disappoint. Its a really fun club, first club I went to when I moved here in 2022 and they continually book really big names and just great talent along with local support which is really cool
Awesome smaller venue nightclub. Saw Morgan Page last night. Fun atmosphere, great crowd. Good drinks too.
Trance music! Deep House music! Never too crowded but always a good crowd. I’ve seen some legendary DJ’s here for an affordable price, and have gotten autographs from them. I recommend this club to anyone who loves electronic dance music!
We went and saw Yotto and was disappointed at how poorly we were treated by the owner/GM. He singled me out quite quickly for wearing a tank top and told me to never wear it again. We purchased tickets in advance and there was no explicit dress code. There were other men in our group wearing simple black tank tops and others in the venue in similar clothing, but mine with the only one with clear LGBT iconography (an upside down pink triangle symbolizing a safe space for LGBT peoples). The whole experience fest very cringy. Like a space trying to bring Vegas to Seattle. Honestly surprised a label like Anjuna would bring their artists here considering the vibe. The bottle service speakers made it smell like the place was burning down and the smell lingered. The staff, servers and bartenders, were really friendly, quick and attentive. We tipped heavily because of how well they took care of us. Security and “bouncers” were almost cliche in their bro machismo style of managing the crowd.Dance space is actually very small and very crowded compared to the entire venue. Sound is good, good airflow anywhere else but the dance floor. Drinks were at the higher end and measured pours. They don’t post set times but main acts seem to go on about midnight. Dot show up till an hour before or it will be dead.
Saw Morgan Page there with about 75 people at the whole club. Can’t complain, it was unreal. Thanks Ora for this private show.
I got kicked out of the place for racism profile 30 minutes after I got in, I was the only one of two black male none my own business having a good time at the latino spot it so disappointing.
If I could give this place zero stars I would! Went to see Matroda (originally booked for Supernova). DJs were AMAZING but it felt like the club was overbooked-so crowded we couldnt even dance. We saw a girl trip and fall down in front of us. Did not feel safe.
Fantastic club the only place in town with good old German DJ’s and amazing EDM. I have seen there ATB, Morgan Page, Paul van Dyk, Paul Oakenfold, and many more amazing DJ’s of modern music. The manager is always super friendly and service is great. Cheap drinks and great sound system.
For paying $91.00 for two people to enter, we were incredibly disappointed. So begin, when paying for tickets at the window there is an automatic tip charged, next we have the issue of being told the price (originally advertised at 15$) was so expensive due to having “an Argentinian dj and djs from all over the world”, the atmosphere was awful, the music was bad, the club was dead, the bartender was incredibly slow and the drinks were not worth the price. You’re better off going to literally anywhere else.
We had a great time at the Anjunabeats Weekender warmup show. Everyone (staff and guests) was pretty nice. The 2nd floor sound system was good (1st floor acoustics were worse, it seemed). As others have mentioned, the floor is super sticky.
Our is a terrible place for people who like to express themselvesWhen we came to listen amazing band Dimibo in March and we’re properly dressed for trance music. We anticipated to dance the whole night in comfortable and fashionable clothes. But the security stopped us and did not allow us to go. They do not have even basic understanding of trance culture and clothes people wear. I had a terrible experience speaking with the security and explaining that clothes I wear are fancy and proper for psy trance music. Moreover, there were no signs on the website about the proper dress code. And moreover, who is judging what is proper and what is not? This is not acceptable and would not advise anyone to come to Ora club ever again. They judge you by how you look and discriminate you by subculture.I would never step my foot in this place ever again and would advise everyone who want to express themselves through clothes not to come. You will be judged by random security guy how you look and they would not let you in if you do not look standard by wearing jeans.
A big improvement on sound system, comparing to half a year ago I was here. Staff were quick making drinks. Just one more thing that is the floor is a bit sticky. I was hesitate to come to event last night but I gave it another try and it was good, Oliver Smith night was fun good crowd and music!
Club itself is cool, but the rules are absolutely ridiculous. The dress code is pretentious, and the prices of drinks are astronomical. We arent in Vegas lmao its Seattle. We were stuck in the pouring down rain in 30⁰ weather because the door staff was arguing with a patron about their pants being too baggy, when they drove 15+ hours for the show. Its freezing outside but they wont allow sweats, joggers, or sweatshirts. Theyre an EDM club that wont allow rave gear. $40 for two drinks with gratuity already added on. They definitely need a reality check in what makes a place comfortable and safe. For how small the dance floor is, they crowd the club. Nobody thinks Ora is better than any other club, so why they need to be so strict about what people wear is beyond me, when the whole point of raving is expressing yourself. The production of the club is really nice, so I hope they get off their high horses and actually embrace the community theyre marketing towards.
Im not a big fan of Ora Nightclub but I go for the artists. Theres two dance floor inside but the bottom dance floor isnt always open. Upstairs is where the main sets are happening. It feels more like a lounge as you enter. The decor by the bar is a bit tacky but I don’t really mind it.The main downside of this club is the size of the dance floor upstairs and the lack of ventilation when the floor is packed. Even though they improved the air ventilation, it still gets too hot esp in the summer. The sound system isnt the best. The bass feels too loud and the quality isnt up to par. Some nights the club feels pretty empty. I feel like they should put more effort into promoting the events. However I do love that they showcase a lot of trance DJs from around the world. I just wish that the venue layout was more suited to a club setting.
Great place, nice vibe and a great sound system/visuals. A hidden little gem playing great music! Been here almost a dozen times in the last year and never had a bad experience. Some of these 1-2 star reviews are at odds with every experience I’ve had here (busy or more chill nights). The people complaining about poor quality sound system must be deaf or simply trying to make the place look bad. Sound system is great and I’ve yet to notice anything off with it.Attire wise I used to go in leopard print spandex pants and a trippy vest with no issues, though the owner is going for a more club appropriate attire (still able to wear my adidas track pants/joggers, which is nice). If you’re hot, bring a hand fan, no club is going to be cool when everyone is dancing. There are also 2 huge fans on the ceiling at this place and the airflow is better than most places. I will also bring the mentioned big hand fan to cool myself/others 👍🏻🪭
We went to celebrate our friend’s birthday and it was awful. The bouncer was terribly rude, the place was completely empty and they wouldn’t let you sit on a couch. Cover was $20 and the ambience was dead. Never going back.
It was a $16 shot that barely had any alcohol in it :/ cover wasnt worth it either for Bollywood night ($20)
Even though the venue itself is modest, this is my favorite club in Seattle because of the style of music and quality of artists they bring. They are very trance/techno/deep house-oriented and often have world-renown artists tour there from all over the globe. If that is your scene then you will love Ora.
The quality of the sound is very bad they should upgrade their equipment. Doesn’t worth it
While walking with my friends, we inquired about the cover fee from the security guard. Unfortunately, the encounter took a distressing turn as the security guard made racist remarks and questioned if we were on drugs. Such behavior is unacceptable, and Ive decided I wont be returning.
This place is sad. This short bald guy who was behind the bar wouldn’t take our order he cared more about being super creepy with the other female bartenders. But hope they don’t fire him over this he’s already short AND bald, don’t need to be broke too
Courteous staff, good and reasonably priced drinks, good ventilation, and overall cool atmosphere. Why am I giving ORA a 1 star then? The sound system is terrible. Uncomfortably loud and bass is non existent. It’s just not sharp enough for techy trance music.
If you want to ruin your night, then go to Ora. This is the only thing they good at.The bouncers were disrespectful with my husband and they had a terrible attitude just because. The dj was such a douche and with a terrible music taste. The place was empty and boring as hell. Sorry, but this club sucks.
The DJ and music selection were boring. The bouncers were super rude. Don’t bother wasting your time and money at this place, any other club in the area will be better.
Nice venue but they lost our coats that we checked. really bummed about losing our coats, because they can’t be replaced. Ora offered to give us our money back for checking and some free tickets to future shows as reimbursement.EDIT: it is nearly impossible to get in contact with ora. the phone number doesnt work since no one ever answers it and there is no voicemail. never was able to get the tickets they told me they would give us for losing our coats.
They getting big names there but honestly treat people like sh8t. Why?1. They overcharge for drinks and price u gonna pay is way to HIGH and not worth it a all2. Security throw me out almost at the end of the show, motivating that u are too sleepy, u need fresh air. So I have a question - how u can be too sleepy if there 100 people around u dancing and yelling and super-loud music playing? How that possible at all? So i think idiots working there and im not gonna be back to that sh@thole
What a great venue! Came from out of town to see Paul Oakenfold. From the guy checking id’s to everyone I encountered inside. Everyone was so friendly and made me feel like I belonged there. What a truly lovely experience Ora Nightclub made for me. All the venue goers and people that work here were genuinely lovely people. The music 10/10. Ambiance 10/10. People 10/10. I’ll definitely be back! (:
DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU WANT A FUN NIGHT DOWNTOWN! Ive frequented a number of clubs and bars, I even work at a hotel downtown and frequently recommend places for our guests to go while theyre visiting. I went on a Saturday night and was told the cover was $5 and was charged $15 per person!! The other members of our group were only charged $5 per person. We all showed up at the same time so why were we charged different covers! I will continue to direct people to Capitol Hill if they want to have a fun dancing downtown. Also it was super empty and the music was bad. 2 stars because the bartender was nice.
Very small dance floor. Bad music. Bad vibes altogether. Not worth the money at all.
This place gets more like 4.5 stars because they bring amazing progressive house and trance artists; I just wish the layout of the club was better, the VIP booths are so far from the dance floor and there’s a VIP room in the back where you can’t even see the DJ, makes no sense at all.
This venue is a hot mess. Way too many people, too hot, very small, sound system was pretty bad. It was just not a fun space. I understand that clubs are typically hot and messy on the dancing areas, but this one is bad.Decent decor and lights are positives.Definitely wont come back here unless someone I really, really wanted to see was playing.
Dress code says dress fashionable and then shuts down many types of fashion and rejects rave clothing even though its supposedly an Electronic Dance club? That was already a red flag and then to find out how hot and sweaty it is but nobody is allowed to wear breathable or skimpy clothing. Maybe yall should invest in a real working AC if you dont want people to wear the proper attire for the heat.
Went for a sold out event, the bartenders were either extremely understaffed or extremely slow. either way we spent the majority of the night waiting in line for drinks- like 45 minutes a line. it only got better once most people gave up on them and left. they knew ahead of time how many people would be there, and they ruined the night for most.
This club is on fire!! The music is amazing, the crowd give good vibes, and its HUGE! My favorite part of the club, are the VIP couches. The lighting is pretty cool too.If y9u are looking to throw a birthday party this is the place to go.
Good venue with some “studio 54” reminiscent lighting. Sound was decent but not knock your socks off. I’m not really into the gogo dancer vibe...and there was a whole platoon of them.Kinda made it feel tacky.I’d go back for the right Dj.*edit* went back to see some friends of mine play there in early December. PA was upgraded and sounds much better than last time. No gogos, and place was sold out. If we didn’t have access to private bathrooms and free alcohol, it would’ve been a mess. Regular bathrooms flooded and lines were ridiculously long. Bar was super crowded. But I’d definitely return again.
, I had to sit down , then threw up on the floor , when staff noticed , I was grabbed by the arm and told its time leave , I was not asked do I want some water , if I had friends inside ,are you okay . I also noticed they charge an automatic 10% tip on the receipt . Normally I tip so thats double dippingI still have the coat check ticket
Had the best Bollywood night since the time I came in the US. The night was hosted by DJ Kazan and he played really good desi songs. The alcohol price wasn’t too expensive too. Loved it!
I dont know what people are talking about when they say this place has poor ventilation. I thought it was downright breezy. We had a great time dancing to a good DJ playing trance music and enjoying drinks that were (for a club) fairly priced. I will be back, especially if they book more European DJs.
Don’t even bother. The bouncers have a whole attitude and the club inside is completely empty on aSaturday night lol. This is sad. Also, the music sounds like the soundtrack to a vasectomy.
Came to town for a wedding that ended up not happening so the bridal party lived it up at Ora! We had a good time. 2 dance floors, plenty of space and great drinks and staff!
Awful service, everything wrong🚩🚩🚩The personal is intense and a kind of aggressive. Music was bad as well. I went on Saturday and the place was practically empty. Besides the cover for M and W is 20dls
Was here for Tinlicker. I really had high hopes as alot of Anjuna artists play here. The ventalation was non existent, I would think two big ocilating fans would be useful at the very least. The sound is what made us leave an hour into the set though. The bass was not existent. Please spend the money on a sound system if you are going to be a night club.
Expensive, poorly treated by staff, dead inside. Not fun at all. Waist of time and money. Skip this venue and go have a fun night elsewhere.
Ora has so much potential but for the love of everything holy they need to invest in a massive HVAC system because it is literally hotter than any venue Ive ever been including Paradiso 2016. Jeffy SpaghettiUPDATE: This club draws in the worst, belligerently drunk crowds Ive ever seen in a club or bar in Seattle. People on 3rd and Pike have more manners than at Ora. This place ought to be yeeted out of existence.
We were in line, got IDed and paid and only after we did all that we were told we couldnt get in due to our male friend who was wearing sandals but a female entered right in front of us in sandals...
If I could rate this place a zero, I would. Terrible service and the staff are creepy and disrespectful. Not worth my $20. I will never come here again!!
The ABSOLUTE BEST nightclub in Seattle! So excited to see Lauren Mia on February 12th! Love! Vibes!
Always go to Ora with my friends. Feels as a home. Clean and never oversold.
Friendly security, free water, great sound quality, trance music, ATB. Had a blast on that night
Wow..enjoyed da n8t.
Worst alcohol felt l was poisoned and given that i would still drink it because DJ KAZAN is nightmare only thing that helped was the alcohol
If you love trance, this is the only place in Seattle now. But, the floor is always sticky.
It was okay, but I would rate it three just because the interior is small and its really hot!
They charge me 80 bucks for 4 shots lol
Great music, crowd vibe and drink prices. What else do you need for a great Saturday night? 🥃🌃💃
Music was way too slow, not enjoyable enough to warrant any admission let alone $28 just to get in the doors for that.
Staff were rude, abusing people in the club behind their back
Bouncers a little pushy .
Disrespectful to neighbors with extremely loud music that is continuously over the allowed amounts.
I used to come here a few years ago, super expensive and the sound is terrible.
Totally amazing place. Loved I_o. Openers were great too. Well ventilated and great atmosphere.
Why did i pay a bunch for a ticket to wait in the rain while people buy tickets at the door?!
Super cool LED light show. Drinks were cheap. Recommend
Way overpacked for such a small dance floor... how are you supposed to dance when you cant move?
Crazy trippy night club with excellent pure EDM music + psychedelic touch to it 👌👌👌
The guy who check the ID is super rude and disrespectful
Bollywood nights are amazing here
It was supposed to be Latino night, but not what it was advertised to be. Very disappointed.
Came there. Charged $15 entrance for an empty place. 0 starts
No one picks up the phone
Had an awesome time here and the owner is a great guy!
Dont even bother, there are better places
Charged entrance for nothing the place was empty. Do not go there
Great place to please anyone looking forward to a night out.
$40 for entry and no industry line? Ridiculous.
The security guard gropes women. Watch yourself.
Worst experience at a nightclub. Terrible staff.
Typical crowded concert venue.
Intimate venue, great sound.
My office speakers are louder
Meh
Great venue!
Great music.
This is a place for losers. This is a joke.
I couldnt dance long enough for the next djs. You could watch the floor die between each song.
Excellent the club has 2 environments, good music in both 🤟🏻
Okish
