I would have gone all 5 stars but the margarita was blan. It needed more mixer, but that could be an easy fix. Hot salsa(fantastic),hot, fresh chips. We had a big variety of food, everyone seemed to like it. Looking forward to coming back.

Amazing Mexican food! Boyfriend ordered Carne asada and enchiladas. I ordered the carnitas which were both awesome! The asada had a citrus flavor and was super refreshing. Carnitas had some saltiness to it which was super good, especially cause I got some skin pieces 🤤. Definitely recommend this place! Best family ran restaurant 💕

Waiter was nice, food took a little too long but it came out in a timely manner. I had the carnitas nachos and the carnitas was cooked great. Would try this place again.

Restaurant is clean and the atmosphere is great. The server was very nice! But the food was not worth coming back. The slow cooked goat was mush and full of bits of bone. Chile Reno was not done right. Refried beans tasted weird! Tortillas were good. 3 out of 4 in my family disliked their food. Maybe its just the cook tonight... Yes, were American but we regularly eat Mexican food everywhere we go so we know Mexican. Im sorry to say, its the worst nice Mexican restaurant weve ever been to.

High priced and the food was awful!I used to frequent this place and loved coming here. We went tonight and were served fish that tasted like it was fried in old oil, pink in the middle. I bought a chimichunga which had unmelted cheese and wasnt fried.They took the fish off the order and we split the chimichunga and a side of rice and beans. We received out bill and it was $27!I will never come here again, let alone for a date night. Yikes!

Quick to get a seat and spacious enough for a larger group. The Salsas and bean dip were tasty but the chips were mediocre. The food was mediocre, nice presentation but not exceptional flavor. The big kicker for us was the broken toothpick that was hidden inside my husbands chimichanga that we bit into. He’s not one to complain but he didn’t want to keep eating after that. I would not recommend the flautas.

The place & waitress (service) was Great. The food not so good. My Mexican mother-in-law was disappointed.

Ever since the new owners took over, the food was good before but its OMG now. So good, the host was amazing.

We tried La Fonda for the first time, and it exceeded our expectations. Parking during lunch time was a bit tight, but the market next door was very busy. The place is spacious inside, and the service was quick and friendly. The fresh salsa and tasty margaritas were a hit, and my wife loved the fajitas. We didn’t get to try their dessert, but we will definitely be back.

Had this delicious meal today! I highly recommend it if you like great tasting steak and shrimp.

I was doing a quick in and out trip to Reno. Looking for some good Mexican and this hit the spot in all levels.The staff was extremely friendly. The recommendation of the Trio Molcajete was so amazing. From the first bite to the last. It was so good I couldn’t even eat the tortillas I just savored the Steak, Shrimp and Chicken.Looking forward for the next trip

I live out of state now, but whenever Im in Reno, La Fondas is always a must! The Cali burrito and green salsa always hit the spot! Viva la raza!

Was asked if I wanted campechana/ shrimp cocktail ROOM TEMP OR COLD. I said room temp. They bring it HOT UHH! Aunt wants a Cabernet Hispanic waiter says he DOES NOT know which one that is! Fish taco was so SALTY. We were the ONLY ones there! Waiter was nice tho. Oh and then campechana was loaded w kétchup! You couldn’t see the shrimp or other ingredients thru the glass. Unacceptable. 3 meals 3 drinks 98.00!!!

Service was great, but my BF and I went in for a molcajete and it just wasnt that good. There was no soup to it and hardly any cheese. I love to be able to eat it as a soup and make a taco out of it and that just wasnt an option. Plus it was not served with any avocado or guacamole. I was overall disappointed with the food but the restaurant and environment was really great.

Excellent atmosphere and food was tasty. I had the steak and shrimp, good amount of shrimp to compliment the steak. Chips and dips were delicious.. the margarita was okay not the best Ive had, Id probably try something else next time.

The food was superb. Authentic dishes, not Americanized. There was a bit of a wait, just one server, but it was not a ridiculous wait. We were also lucky enough to hear live music that was not mariachi. The duo were fabulous!

The place has a lovely atmosphere, friendly staff and relaxing music. We start off our meal with chorizo and nachos as a appetizer and I found any worries washed away with just how delectable it is. The Chorizo is cheesy and fresh showing just how deliciously l homemade it is. The nachos are a near perfect treat.the beef is super soft as other reviewers have said which texture actually works well with the mild nachos , well if it wasnt for the Nacos chips ending up soggy themselves but that is the breaks with Nachos to my experience. Reports about the refried beans tasting Funny are not completely baseless as the refried beans are made a little different which I suspect has to do with the choice of cheese in it. This doesnt make it bad by any means. I myself feel indifferent by this new flavor while my mother quite enjoys it.For the main course I ordered a Burrito Ranchro. Now Im not sure how but it functions like a stew wrapped in a tortilla. I was Surprised to bite into a burrito that looked so well preserved and dry on the outside only for the inside to be filled with so much meat and beans soaked in there own juicy broth with more of that cheese used in the refried beans and other garnishes like spices used to prefect that kick that makes food send those pleasure signals to your brain. I came in here afraid of not knowing if I would like what I got but I was Pleasantly disappointed and look forward to my sheltered taste buds being proved wrong time and time again from this place. The Tacos meat instead of being melted like the rest of the meat was grilled to a chewy yet firm delight me and mother could wish for nothing more from other then for it to also be covered incheese.

Our new Favorite place! They start you off with corn chips & 3 dips! With 5 of us on our first visit we were able to sample a good selection of the menu. Everything was excellent from the appetizers to the Flan. Our second visit with fewer people we selected enchiladas with mole sauce. Chicken tacos and Flauntas. The mole sauce was rich and slightly spicey the best Ive ever had. The chicken tacos were excellent and the chicken sliced so thin and tender our 2 yr. old had no problem wolfing them down. The rice is my personal favorite and I hadnt had any this good since my high school days. The Margaritas set everything off perfectly. The staff was attentive and friendly. We will definitely be back with some of our friends that havent been yet!!

Ordered Parrillada Del Mar seafood feast on Uber Eats and it was honestly one of the best things I’ve ever eaten. Felt like the food critic from Ratatouille but instead of seeing my childhood I saw the chefs. Such a beautiful flavor. It was perfection and perfect for 2. Tortillas were still steaming when we ate it at home

Everything was horrible. Had to return my shrimp fajitas..my friend got sick from his burrito, I tried a bite and the meat tasted like it was from yesterday, dry and crunchy.When we told the man he said its because we didnt eat all day and had good food, and got sick...very pricy also..sorry to have to type this..but I dont want anyone to go with high expectations..Server was very sweet..

I dislike making bad reviews because you never know if they had a bad day or whatever but when the food gives you and your kids a stomach ache because the food was bad, there is no way not to warn others. My mom told our server that that salsa was bad from the get go. The answer we got was that since we are in America that Americans dont like spicy salsa. That may be true but I think that if you go to a Mexican restaurant that you go knowing that it may be spicy. Either way it does not negate the fact that it just was not good, no flavor. We ordered the parrilla which had both land and sea. Well the chicken tasted like fish. The rice was so dry and the beans tasted weird. Then to top it off the salsa we got seemed to me Tapatio in a bowl just warmed up! Just very disappointing.

Amazing food!!! Im not one for trying new things and i tried the slow cooker goat...best decision ever!!!! I definitely recommend this restaurant anytime your craving Mexican food. Also amazing service!!! Definitely coming here again!!!

Service was slow and servers did not come to check on you. One member of party had wrong order. We thought it was a miscommunication, but the correct order was on receipt. The wrong order was 5$ more Than what the kitchen put out.Also, for a Friday night the restaurant was dead. Usually, a bad omen.

I love this place. Real Mexican food, good service, sometimes live music. You can find in their menu natural juices, beers, land and sea food, sushi, and the taste is authentic Mexican.

The burritos and guac were amazing! I also loved the house margarita. The overall vibe and atmosphere is really fun!

Excellent service and food. Must try one of the Molcajetes, absolutely delicious. Same with the Choriqueso (melted cheese with chorizo and tortillas) appetizer.They do the traditional chips and salsa differently too. Instead of just one salsa, they bring you two (a pico de gallo and a hot green salsa) and beans.They also have a full bar and sometimes have music on the weekends.Overall, an excellent place.

Great mexican food place thats a bit of a hidden gem. My wife and I had driven past this place several times as we visit the nearby carniceria pretty regularly, and we finally decided to give it a try a couple days ago. The restaurant is tucked in the corner of this old shopping center but the inside felt very large with vaulted ceilings and spacious booths.The food here was great! They start you out with some salted tortilla chips and three types of salsa: a mild pico, a spicy verde, and a bean dip.I ordered the Molcajete Azteca which was served in a big, hot mortar filled with pollo, carne asada, chorizo, queso fresco, jalapeno, and nopales. The flavors were great, and the servings were very generous. My wife and younger cousin got a burrito mojado which ended up being about 3 times the size we were expecting, so they barely made it about a quarter way through before deciding to take the rest home. With our younger cousin with us the total only came out to $40 with no drinks and appetizers, which is pretty fair for the amount of food we were given. Id definitely recommend this place if youre looking for wholesome mexican food at a fair price.

First table for dinner. I do believe that I got leftover chili rellano. It was inedible. Sangria was bottled trash. Never again for sure. Barf.
