Went to Sean for a few months. He is good at cutting hair. His price for a haircut (regardless of beard trim or not) is $60. If you don’t have a beard, the value of a $60 haircut, in my opinion, is not worth it. Booking through Sean’s website is easy and convenient. However, he does not hold true to this booking method. He will take walk-ins or double book his appointments when you book and confirm an appointment with him. This happened to me twice. It’s one thing to be running a little late due to appointments as a barber. That’s not a problem and understandable. Twice, I showed up for my haircut at say 1200. He finished a haircut and had another person in front of me he still had not started. My time, like most people’s and Sean’s, is valuable and important. The fact Sean double books his appointments is completely disrespectful to his client’s time, and therefore renders his appointment process useless. After the second time of showing up early to my scheduled appointment (and also texting Sean to confirm it), only to be told there’s an entire haircut in front me, I told Sean I will not be coming back. Might as well go to a chain haircut place and wait in the same line. Sean is a decent barber. His business skills are lacking. I will take my business to a barber who cuts hair just as well, but respects my time, like I do theirs.

This barber shop is truthfully one of a kind. Sean is always the nicest he could be and always finds ways to lighten your mood and the music he plays in the background is always so calming and comforting. And his hair cuts are amazing he always gets it exactly right and his fades are the best I’ve ever seen and overall this is an amazing barber shop.

TLDR: terrible place with bad barbers (tried two of them) with very unclean workstations. I cannot emphasize enough how I would not recommend this place.You should make a mistake once, but I did it twice, so here it goes:I went to this salon first time few months ago. I gave a courtesy heads up that my hair will take longer than usual due to my long hair and coarse texture. I went in to get a haircut from Hanzo. The dude seemed to not having it, he was not polite and rather would get me off his chair as fast as possible. The cut was noticebly uneven, I mentioned multiple times and he would manage to screw it up even more. I ended up giving up on him making it better and asked him to stop, I ended up finding parts of my hair clearly not even touched when I got home. He aligned my beard as well, any person can tell that it is very crooked. Bad haircut with terrible attitude.They mentioned that their salon policy they can fix your hair afterwards if you don’t like it for free, but I was not planning to have this guy touch my hair again. I was better off fixing it myself.The second time I went there because a friend suggested I should have book Sean instead. I gave a courtesy call as I always do, my hair does and will take longer than 20 minutes, he asked if I could pick my hair and wash it, when I gladly did. I went on time and he was not there, he came in 15 minutes late. After he started cutting my hair, I noticed he was only using one hand! I do not care how good you are, you should be measuring the hair with one hand and use the scissors with the other, but I digress. He managed to have his scissors on my nick, which did not cause a cut, but was a terrifying feeling. This time I noticed how unclean and unsanitary the place is, hair on every surface, and unclean scissors and shaving blades everywhere. I have not noticed a single disinfecting machine anywhere.As his colleague, he managed to have my hair way shorter than I asked for, and more uneven beard and hair than his colleague. All in all terrible service with terrible barbers. I strongly discourage anyone to go there.

A small misunderstanding of booking times and barbers resulted in an extraordinarily bad haricut, and some of the most terrible customer service I have ever experienced.Yesterday, my hair was long, down to my shoulders. I asked for a trim and to even it up. Sean instead decided to remove a significant amount of length, not at all consistent with my request. I was also told that the long and straight look was the most unattractive way to wear hair according to him. Apparently my hair was so offensive to him, he decided to cut it all off instead! And I might add, it was not cut well either. My left side was left at nearly 4 inches, and the right side trimmed very short. I will need to have someone else fix this mess.I was also asked why I had booked with another barber listed on his website instead of him. Incidentally, the same one who no longer cuts hair there, which caused the confusion in the first place. This question struck me as very odd. Sean, Im sorry you were offended that I booked with someone other than you, but I dont know you or Kevin from anyone else. You were a name on a website. I picked one. Its not that deep bro.This situation may have bothered you in one way or another, however I would have expected a higher level of professionalism from someone who charges $60 for 20 minutes of chair time.Judging by the other reviews, Sean may be an excellent barber if you catch him on a good day, but today was not one of those days.

I was very impressed with Sean and his shop. First off, the booking is incredibly easy to do online. The shop itself is currently under renovation. While it may be a little rough around the edges now, but itll obviously be premium barber shop with amazing design and features when it is shortly completed. Sean is very talented and gave me an excellent haircut that Ive been getting compliments on almost every day. More than that, he also seems to be a very genuine guy and was fun to chat with during the haircut. He even made me a delicious cocktail to sip on.All in all, I absolutely recommend this place to anyone looking for a premium barbershop experience.

The haircut was sub par. Nice barber, very polite & laid back, but what struck me with awe was that once the haircut was finished & I began to pay I was quoted $60 for JUST A HAIRCUT (& a mediocre one at that). The line didnt even stick in the fade, taper couldve been boxed-off better, & above all things, I find out thus business has been open for at least a year at a location that literally looks like it was abandoned & two guys came in to set up barber chairs. Theres no decour, no furnishing, nothing. Personally, those things hold no influence when it comes to getting A PROPER CUT, however, that doesnt mean they dont matter & that they dont reflect on the company you represent/own/sponsor, whatever. Its unprofessional & foul. $60 is NOT MARKET PRICE FOR A MENS HAIRCUT. THATS FEMALE SALON PRICES THAT INCLUDE A SHAMPOO & THE ABILITY TO SIT SOMEWHERE THAT HAS PRESENTABLE LIGHTING. LASTLY, I only express these things because I dont want the next person or persons to go out of their way finding a barber shop only to be outraged with a amateur fade & an overpriced flat-fee. Unbelievably clean haircut. He knows what he’s doing and well deserves all the praise he gets. Cut took 20-25 min, would e taken must barbers an hour. Solid spot!

Ive been coming to Sean Connor for a while and I have always left with consistently excellent haircuts. His cuts are fast and efficient without any loss in quality. Hes also pretty chill about cancelations and those times when your running late, always trying to accommodate as best he can. I definitely recommend checking him out if your looking for someone that can do great cuts.

Showed Sean exactly what i wanted with a pic from my old barber and he basically just shaved up the side of my head and didnt get the head shape right at all. If you have easy to cut hair hes probably fine but for curly I would not recommend

Sean does great work. Incredibly professional and efficient. I get a great consistent cut every time in less than 30 minutes and booking is so easy on his website. Sean works tirelessly and his shop improves every time I come in.

I was greeted with no kindness and a fear of a bad review. Thanks for the reminder I can do that. very loud kids were running around screaming so I sat in the car while my son got his haircut. When I went to pay he had chunks of hair on his face I didn’t mind just asked for a paper towel. He replied rude “that’s what happens when you get a haircut’’ like I’m some dummy. I have been to Sean numerous times over the last eight months since moving into town. Sean by far has provided me with the best haircuts I have ever had. His fades are impeccable. He never rushes the job. You always know he is going to do his best to make sure you are happy with the end product. He is by far the most consistent barber Ive come across. Consistency is key! Would recommend if you check his work if you are looking for the best fade work in town.

Sean really knows his trade!! You can easily tell if someone is a good barber or not by how confident they are with their tools and Sean has gave me really good haircut both times I have visited him. The appointment process is so easy and I really enjoy how easy/quick it is to schedule an appointment, rather than getting scheduled days later than you wanted your haircut done. He really seems to want to make sure you are completely satisfied with the haircut. Location is very convenient as well.

Booking online was as easy as can be, got me in early(definitely did not have to) and done in 20 minutes! Asked for something along the lines of a blowout taper, got just that. Great vibe, great service!

Sean went out of his way to make my first experience great. He was accommodating, saw with expertise what I usually do with my hair (but was also respectful and asked whether that was what I wanted again), offered little accoutrements to the whole barbering experience and was fast! Amazing skill with clippers alone, can’t wait to come back for a straight razor shave.

I came to Sean Connor with the biggest mess of hair. Between avoiding haircuts cause of the pandemic, self trims, and general lack of care, it was literally a disaster. After he was done, I was a brand new person. Confidence shot up, felt great, got a promotion (true story!), lots of compliments, and just felt like a brand new person. Sean is very friendly, chill, gives advice that works and helps with any issues or concerns you may have with your hair. After my experience with him I wont go anywhere else. Sean Connor is definitely one of the best barbers I’ve ever been to. Sean finds it important to sell you not only a great haircut but a great experience. Coming in as a new client Sean takes time to understand the needs and wants of a client, being completely upfront about cuts your hair is compatible with and not compatible with. After any of your cuts, he takes the time to explain the way he styles it so you can recreate it on a daily basis. Unlike most barbers, Sean has a package that not only sells you the haircut but, the package also includes a charcoal face mask. Now as someone who is constantly busy and can’t always make enough time for skincare, this is extremely convenient and proactive for my lifestyle. Plus, at the end of each cut Sean will offer you a spray of cologne to make sure you leave smelling fresh! With all this information, I find it a good time to say Sean seems extremely knowledgeable for his ‘haircut types’, tools, products used throughout your appointment, and giving a great enough experience for you to want to come back. For someone like myself who wants a great cut, a little knowledge on your hairstyle/type, consistency, and a moderately priced cut, Styles by Sean Connor is definitely the route to go.

Sean knocked it out of the park. My first time to see him and I was presenting a challenge. Let’s just say it had been waaaay to long since any clippers had cut my hair or my totally wild grown beard.He didn’t bat an eye and fired up the clippers. I gave him free reign, with my only input being I’d like to keep some on the top, and am really fond of my beard. He did a great job, hooking me up with a very tight fade to a length on the top I really like, and then shaped and trimmed my facial hair, giving me an amazing shape to my beard.When he was done and I got to put my glasses on I saw a fresh me, and I was really happy with the cut and style.His space was cool, with a great customer oriented vibe. He wants you to be comfortable and enjoy your experience. I did this time. And I will again. Thanks Sean.

****Google took us to the wrong location. It is next to a tattoo parlor closer to Napa Sonoma. Google took us to the boba place.***I had finally had it with my husbands funky grown out hair, so luckily we were able to get a next day appointment. That was great, and Sean was professional and reasonably priced. We arrived early because his website asks you to, and we didnt wait very long at all. He did a great job with the haircut and the facial hair trimming and my husband said he would definitely go back.

Sean is a very talented yet professional Barber, however he is as Humble as it gets- He has been beyond reliable on appointment times. Only after getting one Cut from him. He offered me a 1-1 free haircut referral program. Which is not ONLY UNHEARD OF. He came through on the clutch for me. Always Does an excellent job. He takes his time. Because he cares. When I first came to Reno I desperately needed a quality barber!! I found Sean Connor barber shop on google. Its been 8 months now and Ive been going there on a monthly basis. His quality is unmatched for the area. He really puts the time and effort into each cut. I highly recommend if your looking for a barber that goes above and beyond.

I moved to Reno about 5 months ago. Ive had black barbers most of my life in major US cities. So I was more than a bit nervous about trying to find a barber in Reno who could cut black hair. Plus I was ready to chop the fro which only added to my concerns lol. I looked up Sean online and he had great reviews so I pulled the trigger. What a great decision. I love this place.The shop isnt traditional, more boutique style. One chair, one barber and enough space to fit two other customer. But its super comfortable. I could sit in those massage chairs all day and knock out lol. He has a fridge that he stocks with water, soda, beers, truly etc which are complimentary. My toddler son loves getting his haircut now because he gets a Capri Sun. Sean is very patient with him.In regards to Seans skills, they are excellent. I get a mid fade every two weeks. He keeps me looking fresh. He is very responsive to what you want and he wants to make sure your are pleased with the cut. I particularly love the steam he uses before the lineup and beard edging with the straight razor. He has a nice cabinet with some fancy cologne if you need to get right before an event. I felt a bit bougie one week and got one of his facial packages for less than 100 bucks. Felt and looked great!The conversation is awesome. The atmosphere is very relaxing. The cut is superb. I will for sure keep coming back!

I wont be back, but I completely understand why other men would.Sean is personable, professional, and industrious. A student of his craft.I personally dont go to get a haircut to be pampered. Or relax. Or to relieve stress. Or to socialize. Grooming is a box I have to check. Like getting my car washed. There are other things Id rather be doing.I typically just buzz my hair in the shower, however I missed my days in Phoenix where you could find innumerable barbers to give you a solid cut and straight razor in 15-20 minutes, so I gave Sean a try.I dont want to sit in a massage chair for 30 minutes while another gentleman gets groomed 4 feet away from me. Its awkward and I didnt even turn it on.But again, I understand why some men would want this. If you want a haircut experience, then most certainly go see Sean. I just wanted a gentlemens haircut that started at the time I booked without all the pomp and circumstance.

Sean is a really nice guy and very professional. However his haircuts are mediocre. I asked for a mid fade and he gave me a high and tight like I am back in the military. When he uses the razor he does not use any sort of shaving gel which make me break out. This is my 4th haircut by him and every time I have been disappointed. I am new to Reno so that’s why I kept going back but after this last haircut I will no longer be going back. For the price of the haircut I just feel as though you can go elsewhere for better results. Again he is a really nice and professional person. And no this is not a fake review lol. You asked me multiple time to write a review and I didn’t want to say anything negative but you were persistent, so here is my review.

Sean has given me the best haircut and beard trim of my entire life. It sounds fantastical and dramatized but it isnt. Gave a perfect fade on the sides, on top worked with my hair to get it to lay down and style nicely. My beard is a whole other beast. Extra thick under my chin and neck, thinner on my face, he shaped and blended it together to look absolutely fantastic. He truly outdid even my wildest expectations. Wouldnt even consider going elsewhere. If you are on the fence, just try him. You will not be disappointed. (P.s. he has free beer, and sodas in the fridge)

Umm pretty upsetting that I asked him to cut my hair all one length. It was a nice fade but the top on my hair on by my hard part is super longer than the other side all I can now do with it is lay it over when I showed him a picture on how I wanted it cut that I I’ve had it before. He said “oh yeah I know” Didn’t know till I got home an really looked. Good guy didn’t talk much, tried to have a conversation didn’t seem interested. This cut worth the 40$? Probably not more in the 25 range an probably won’t go back. (Was 2 starts rating)But this man just called me an made me understand that he is in it for us, so I retract my previous statement give this man 1000 stars for his humility an passion an willingness to make it right on my next cut made me joyful to hear what he said to me an let me know who an what this ment to him. Ive got really thin hair and have always cut it ultra short to make it look fuller. My fiancè informed me I would be growing my hair out for the wedding and doing a nordic/mohawk style.
