I had and and upon bringing this matter to the attention of the owner and manager, they took immediate steps to address it. They listened attentively to my concerns, apologized sincerely for the incident, and assured me that they are reviewing their security protocols to prevent such situations in the future. Their swift and understanding response reaffirmed my appreciation for their commitment to maintaining a welcoming environment for all patrons.In conclusion, while my encounter with Jeff was regrettable, I am grateful for the owner and managers proactive approach in resolving the issue. Its evident they value their customers and strive to uphold a standard of professionalism that aligns with the enjoyable experiences Ive had at their establishment in the past. I look forward to continuing to support this bar and appreciate their efforts to ensure every guest feels respected and valued

This is the best club ever. The security guards are so nice my favorite Jeff… greeting you in they always put a smile on my face. The bartenders are amazing. I always have a great time here. I always feel safe welcomed and accepted. The owners are very nice I guess 10 out of 10.

I’m a regular here. I love this place the owners are very nice. The bouncers are extremely welcoming. Especially Jeff! The bartenders are amazing as well. It’s a very safe environment.

I’m not gay, but I go here with my usual crew and it’s really a fun time. I usually go for karaoke and once in a while for the weekend festivities. My only takeaway would be that there’s not as much of an outside area as there should be, but it doesn’t really affect my rating. All in all a great chill spot. Will recommend to any one of any orientation.Also credits to DJ Rob! The karaoke maestro always provides a good time and a great atmosphere.

Jeff the security guard is so sweet and easy on the eyes too. Known him for years and he’s the best and so professional. Love him! 🫶🏻

Went last night saw a man harassing females (un wanted flirting / touching ) over 10 at-least and i told the security guard saul multiple times i was told “he can say and do what he wants” and to stay on the opposite side of him although i wasn’t the one who was harrasing anybody i promptly moved and he followed so i kept an eye on him when 15 minutes to closing saul kicks me out shoving / pushing from the upstairs and i quote for “looking at him” and for more context saul wasnt paying attention cuz instead of being a security guard he dances with girls all night

Just came back from Club Feathers. This place is a great old bar/club. Staff is very polite and professional, security is something that they take serious and I loved it. Metal detector at the entrance and bag check... keep up the good job guys. Bar down stairs has a little low sealing it up stairs is just great. Nice music, nice drinks, fair price (not a bargain), food is delicious (just had a philly steak sandwich, A BARGAIN).

Did not enjoy the experience. Im trans, figured this would be a great place for me to be social. I felt very out of place, almost like I didnt belong there. I sat at the bar with cash in hand but was ignored by the bartenders focused on the more familiar faces. Even the security guards were kinda rude checking my ID. I honestly couldnt tell if he was being a pig or being transphobic the way he spoke to me while checking my license. Either way it started the night poorly for me and it didnt get better. This just might not be a place for me.

Feathers is such a great club with a diverse crowd. I love that there are two floors, first floor is if you wanna chill and chat and second floor is if you wanna dance & let your freaky self out. One of my favorite gay clubs!

I went on a Tuesday special night with my family. We played Bingo and enjoyed the hostess great hospitality with Hosea fabulous drinks!!! I went back Wednesday for karaoke gave them a Lil James Brown on da mic they loved it, well me💃! I Feel Good!

The atmosphere downstairs today was very good, I dont know if his is new but it kept the atmosphere going all night! I would return every Thursday if he is a DJ!

Bathroom locks need to be fixed. Doors simply do not have functioning locks.N.J. Admin. Code § 10:44A-6.14 - BathroomsBathroom doors shall be equipped with standard hardware which provides a privacy lock and which can be readily opened from the outside in an emergency. Hooks and eyes, bolts, bars, and other similar devices shall not be used on bathroom doors.

Ordered dinner for take out this evening from Feathers and the food was amazingly delicious. During this time of limited services Feathers has adapted with a great take out menu for curbside pick up or Door-dash delivery. And at the same time get to say hello to your favorite staff members who are working to make this possible. Big thank you to Paul and Jose for keeping the doors open and revamping to give us another option. Can’t wait till the doors reopen and we can dance, drink, and catch up with old friends. So with that said if you want a night off from cooking definitely order from Feathers you’ll love the food and the great service provided.

I went to this bar often in the early 2000s so when I was in the Newark area yesterday, I had to stop by Feathers for a walk down Memory Lane. The bar tender downstairs was super friendly, I chatted with a few guys there who were regulars in the past also and then went upstairs about 10 pm. It was jus as I remember - guys start coming about 11 pm, and when I left about 1 am guys were lined up to get in outside! There was a great drag show upstairs and after, most people upstairs stayed on the dance floor. There was an overall great vibe.

Went on a Saturday. Liked the place. Good location and easy free parking.Nice environment and vibe. Liked that its two floors and a large dance floor. But the music. All might with high energy, ugh. No hip hop, no dance music (like 103.5 FM). NO variety. If you go to dance, youd better like what they play.

Being from out of state, I figured Id give the place a try.I arrived at 12:50, one hour before closing. Was charged a cover of 5 dollars, and went to the bar. There, I was served a watered down draft, and then told at the 2 sip of my beer, that it was last call and they were closing early. Closing early, in 10 minutes after taking my cover charge?... So, I asked for my cover charge back. I was directed to the doorman, who then redirected me back to the same bartender, who now was presented as the Managing Bartender.So, then, the Managing Bartender said No to the refund and told me it was time to finish up because they were. Closed.10 minutes hadnt passed since I paid my cover.Pathetic and Thoroughly Dirty Atmosphere, and I dont mean the building. 😉🤷🏻‍♂️I will Never be back.

Edited ** Last time I went the atmosphere was 10x better and the music was also better. Changed from 3 stars to 4Music kinda sucks. no variety.. so if you go often it feels like they have the exact playlists on a loop. Bartenders and staff are always super nice but it’s not worth the drive if you’re further than 15-20 mins away

Usually I would recommend this place but not this winter. On top of the cover charge there is a new $3 mandatory coat check which they say is for security reasons. This doesn’t make sense because all guests have to pass through a security guard with a metal detector before you even enter the bar. At least be honest with your penny-pinching ways.

The only bar in the area that serves the LGBT community. The burlesque shows are phenomenal so keep that in mind before complaining about their moderate prices. Best mixers Ive had at a bar. Completely safe and secure event space with more than adequate bouncers.

Club Feathers is a great spot for DJ lovers. The sound quality is excellent, and the intimate setting allows you to get up close.

Pissi Myles was amazing. Staff, including owners, were extremely kind & generous. Food was also great, possibly the best French fries I’ve had in my life, which says a lot, I promise. I can’t wait to come back! ♥️

Always fun times, there is ample parking across the way. Drag shows are always great and drinks are fairly priced. They have top security at the door to ensure your safety, they are friendly and professional as well. Only things I would change is the option to pay the cover fee in credit (or do away with it completely), they mandate checking your coat for $3 - even a light leather jacket, and they did away with the majority of bathroom stalls downstairs which makes it unwelcoming and inconvenient for female patrons. Other then those small things, highly recommend going when DJ Alex Mendez is there... GREAT MUSIC!

The entry proceedings were rather unfriendly, power playing indifferent! I almost felt I was in some isolated club that had no cosmopolitan merits! A far cry from the two occasions I was in Feathers including a support gesture during its crisis and over the course of the pandemic as we continued to patronize it. The bartender was good, all else and other staff, show, crowd, Friday ambience was good . It turns out that my reactions was due to the ‘indifference’ of the door security! He made me feel terrible not welcoming. So much for a not so Feathered Friday!

Had such an amazing 1st time here last night with my boyfriend, his brother and another friend. We all had so much fun. Everyone, staff included, was super nice and personable. Will definitely be returning soon.

Used to be a fun place for all people. However, the staff is rude and drinks are extremely overpriced. The bar tender was obnoxious and expected a big tip while acting like he was king and the drinks were not that good. I will stick to nyc, and this place is a let down to the LGBTQ Community. As a straight gal, gay clubs are usually so much fun, but this staff does not know real fun and hospitality and acted like they were on a power trip. I will not return!Responding to the owner....I love the LGBTQ Community so why would I look to repress any LGBTQ establishment. What a poor, ignorant and convenient rebuttal Open your eyes and listen to people about some drastic changes.The crowd was nice. However, your place used to be great and packed. Drinks were NOT $3. Actually, a gentleman was telling me he orders soda for around $3, because the alcoholic beverages are too expensive. My two drinks were over $20. So are you admitting on social media that I was overcharged? Seems like the owners ego is too big to listen to customers. Sad!

Feathers has been around a VERY LONG TIME! Eddie does a great job managing the place. Yes, I get the place the place may not be for everyone, but because it doesn’t live up to your EXPECTATIONS, there is no need to bash the place. I now live in Minnesota, and I come here when I’m in town & always felt welcome. Eddie, my friend, you keep doing what you’re doing. Hugs & kiddies, Ernie.

Great place to go dressed up. Unlike other TG or drag places, I never felt like there are escort TGs dancing and people want to just pick you up. Everyone was very friendly.Only downside to me was that it was very hot and sticky there and absolutely no air flow. If youre dressed up with wig etc, you might feel uncomfortable soon. Also if you are at all worried about catching COVID, this place is not for you.

I love to go to feather to relax and have a nice drink and enjoy the music the drag shows are woundrful. I also feel like feathers is my second home because I am trited like family. I hope and pray that feathers stays open.

This place is a legendary gay nightclub and an important part of the GLBT community, for almost 40 years now. And there is nothing else like it around, even in NYC. Super staff, dance floor and vibe. Long live Feathers!

I can’t believe this place is still open it’s still hopping!! so inclusive and wonderful. Sometimes you just need to dance at off on the dance floor.

Feathers is a very unaccepting environment for people of color. I went there with two of my friends who happen to be white. (I am a black male.) The security guard let them in but REFUSED to let me in. I asked why and they told me there was something about his eyes. Keep in mind that we didn’t drink or do anything prior to attending Feathers. The next group standing behind me was dark skinned and Latino. They also werent allowed in, but the white couple behind them were for some reason. I was really frustrated and instead of acting in rage, I left because I knew they wouldve called the police and it wouldve been a bad racial situation. This is not a club that I nor anyone should support.

This place always give me an issue i couldnt get in one time because of what i was wearing. I went there again and couldnt get in because my id was expired and i wasnt 30 years old im about to be 26 now my ID CLEARLY says 1992 its not hard to do math but im really upset because i drove 40 minutes there and mind you they let a woman in with no ID but just a birth certificate that doesnt have a picture on it and you were afraid of a fine because my ID expired but you let someone in that you cant ever verify by picture SMFH you managers need to do a better job of doing your job

It was a place that I used to go to in the late 70s when I first came out. And I kept on going there on weekends all through the 1980s. It was a fun place where you can chill, watch a show, and dance your ass off. And it was a time where everybody connected with each other instead of to their smartphones like theyre doing today.

Currently the place is a mess. They put the head of security as the manager who is horrible. The place is so dirty. The bar tender up stairs Eddy is a piece of garbage and old as hell. Bar tenders Paul and Vinnie are the only good thing in the place anymore but you have to deal with nasty security and a filthy venue to get to them. Get rid of the Security company, Eddy and Paul from security clean the place up, put in new bathrooms and business will come back I promise.

Security guard attempted to confiscate my sisters legitimate driver’s license because he stated she “didn’t look like” her picture. Absurd! She is of legal age and has a legal ID and had a school ID to back that up. Security guard said that it “didn’t look like” the photos matched. Totally NOT worth a trip to this place if some security guard is attempting a practice like this! Be careful of the angle and lighting in your drivers license everyone! He actually suggested that she may have to pick up her license from the River Edge PD the next day! She has a job and needs to drive there so NO - a trip to Feathers is not worth risking your job for. Would give this place zero stars if possible for heinous customer service bordering on harassment.

Long time gay bar. The bouncer is really a retired cop on a power trip; and it discourages people from returning, including myself. Thankfully there are more gay bars opening in New Jersey so maybe Feathers will refocus that energy.

My sister spent an hour outside of here getting HARASSED by a bouncer last night. He refused to believe her ID was actually hers even after she showed him a second picture ID, her insurance card and debit card. He accused her of plastic surgery and threatened so confiscate her ID although it was hers!!! He acted like a bully and took advantage of a 21 year old who was doing everything she could to just prove she was herself!!! This bouncer needs to be fired ASAP!!!

Decades of history here, that neither the March if time nor fire nor the internet could destroy...things are different but better, fun vibe with mixed crowd, no longer just stand and look at the gay guy youre never gonna get in bed. The truth is, I dont recommend this place. Yesterday, July 4, I was there with my friends because we wanted to enjoy ourselves because we always arrive every Thursday, at 2 in the morning leaving the club, a man calls me saying that he is the owner of the club talking ugly to me in front of the bartenders telling me that he didnt want me to be in that nightclub again, for the simple fact that I asked one of the dancers for his Instagram, but he kept talking ugly to me, in fact he followed me to the parking lot telling me He told me to get away from the parking lot, he was the owner of all that, he told my friends that he wanted to hit me...

It is a fun nightclub, very good music and good prices... a pleasant atmosphere... I especially want to praise the excellent service and kindness of JEFF who is a great host and makes me feel safe and at home. THANK YOU

I dont recommend this place at all. There they are classist and their security personnel are rude. When visiting this place I verified that there are still third world places in a country as advanced as this one. Dont waste your time visiting this place, if you dont want to have a bad timeMoment at the entrance with your security personnel 👎👎👎
