Cocktail St Pete

Visited St. Pete for a stay cation and fell upon this lovely gem! The atmosphere was great, we just wanted something to eat and to get out of the heat.Dante is such a treat! He is attentive and answered all of our questions! His demeanor is so kind, he is a pure joy to be around and we look forward to seeing him when we roll through again.🙌🏻🥰Taylor inside bar was great, took my order and explained how the process went, we are central FL so the tokens and specials were unfamiliar. We were served within a 10 minutes or so not long. I ordered the Dik -Fil-A and it was amazing, the apple slice made a delicious crunch. I had misread the ingredients and thought I missed it on the sandwich. I did kindly ask for pickles from Jamie who swiftly brought them along with a smile.The sandwich hit the spot was juicy and my wife and I enjoyed it very much.

I quite literally never leave reviews, especially negative ones, but as someone who has worked in the service industry for years and went to Cocktail because I’ve heard it is a fun queer space, I am so extremely dissatisfied. I understand that there are rules, whatever, your business your prerogative. Rules need to be POSTED. You can’t expect everyone to know them magically. I was yelled at by multiple staff members multiple times to the point of me leaving the bar. I was polite and kind when speaking to a manager (manager? I don’t know he was a taller older gentleman, he was not very kind to me) and he continued to berate me. He started the conversation by shouting “NO!” at me from across the bar. I will say, thank you to the tall tatted bouncer at the door with the curly hair 🙌🏼 give that man a raise, I would trust him with my life. However he is the ONLY staff member I’ve met here who showed me an ounce of kindness. Sucks that such a cool spot can be ruined by unprofessional behavior by staff. We’re all family in this community and I was hoping cocktail had gotten that memo. Won’t be returning, also the drinks are gross 🫶🏻

This bar is part of the Mari Jean hotel it is on the first floor and has some event every night, which is pretty great. I got to see Bingo and Karaoke. I ordered gaysodilla with chicken, and it was really good. Maybe a tiny bit overpriced for the portion, but it was good. I felt welcome and had a good time. While the rules are no smoking or vaping in the door, I saw this happening, and no one addressed it. Even another customer sitting next to me commented on this. Also, the smell of weed lingered through the outdoor bar inside. So that hurt the atmosphere and experience a little for me as I really cant stand that smell. Also while I was there a couple got in a fist fight, however the staff handled it well and got them separated and out of the bar but it was scary for a minute as the one guy looked very intoxicated and unpredictable. Even though this stuff happened, I would still say the bar was a beautiful, great theme that works with the hotel and is very clean and super convenient to anyone staying in the hotel. The only thing I thought was strange was the 1 person bathrooms for a bar. I feel you should have a large bathroom for multiple people. Other than that, I recommend checking out this fun friendly bar. Great parking right outside, too. Not sure why the place is getting bad reviews as of late. My experience at cocktail has always been a pleasant one and its always felt inclusive to me. Im a female and Ive never felt like anyone treated me poorly or like I dont belong so Im not sure why others feel that way. The bartenders have always been friendly and chatty with me. They also have an awesome 2 for 1 happy hour during the day at the The Wet Spot. If I just feel like relaxing by the pool for a few hours and getting a bit tipsy, its my go-to.

I just want to say that the staff here really cares about the community. Thank you Mike and Sebastian for your help looking after a friend of mine in a very precarious time in his life. True humanity. Im so impressed and everyone should come here to feel safe and celebrated exactly as they are, no judgements. Incredible.

I am a veteran with a service dog. The manager approached me and said that my service dog was not acting like a service dog. I have no idea what behavior he witnessed because the entire time I was seated at the bar, my service dog was lying on the floor next to me as he is trained to do. When I got up from the bar and stepped away from it, I picked up my service dog and was holding him when the manager approached me.I proceeded to tell the manager that I have his ID (even though legally under the ADA, I am not required to show it, and it is lawful for me to hold my service dog). After a short, heated discussion where I was informing the manager of my rights (because he was obviously not educated on how to approach customers in these situations), he changed his reasoning for asking me to leave because the bar reserves the right to refuse service to anyone.I will NEVER go back and spend another penny or my time at this establishment. I am a long time resident of St. Pete and part of the LGBTQ+ community, and I will be sharing this experience with anyone who is interested.

If I could give this place 0/5, I would. The “manager/owner” is the most disgusting and unprofessional person I have ever encountered. My group was told we had to leave because we were “too loud.” In an environment with loud music and many people loudly talking, this was a complete lie. The “manager” did not want us there for reasons unknown (we were mostly female, having a good time with friends for a birthday). The way he went about it was unkind, unprofessional, and just flat out gross. Will be spreading the word across the Tampa bay/ St. Pete area that this is NOT the gay bar you want to be going to. Period. ON PLUS.

Amazing bar and entertainment! You can tell how much they care about their customers making sure they are safe and protected. Investing in security to ensure everyone can have a great evening out without feeling nervous in these crazy times. The only people complaining about security here are the ones being called out for doing things they shouldnt be.

I’ve never had a good experience at Cocktail. They go against everything that being LGBTQ+ is about. It’s about love! Acceptance! Community! I took some straight friends there and they wouldn’t let them sing karaoke. I amgender non conforming and I stand at the bar for so long waiting for service while the staff serves all the men first. They were so hateful and rude to my trans friend. The drinks are over priced and too strong. I guess it works if you are male from birth and gay and basic. I will not support the hate. Please do better.

They wanted me to pay a cover charge because I looked too feminine. Totally absurd in a gay bar with no dress code. Today at 9:30 in the bar inside they wanted me to change my clothes or I would have to pay extra. It was empty on a Friday night so I left. Very sad. Its not the place for queer people :(

Cocktail is my favorite gay bar!! The bartenders are always friendly, most of the patrons that come in are always kind and welcoming, and the food is really good. The pride month events happening this month have been amazing so far. And, I really felt included in their space when they had a sapphic movie night. I highly recommend this bar :)

Treats women and trans people terribly!this place will ignore or block anyone who tries to inform them of the discrimination going on in their establishment, whether its coming from THEIR OWN STAFF, the patrons or the performers that this place chooses to openly pay & support.the fact that this place is one of our more popular bars makes me absolutely devastated for the state of the entire city of st pete. its gross to even have a bar that only prioritizes the safety and happiness of cisgender white men while the rest of us are constantly disrespected by patrons, staff and the owner himself.do not go here if you are a woman or a trans person. this place should not be allowed to call itself an LGBT safe place if its only safe for the G and mocks/ignores the concerns and safety of the rest of us.

Ive been to Cocktail twice - once before the outdoor pool side was built for karaoke and the second this past Saturday. The first time, I had an absolute blast and everyone was kind. The second time was the opposite. The door people and bartenders were nice, but there was a person there that began getting irate with me because I had a nicotine vape in my hand while outside in the pool area (I wasnt actively smoking it at the time, just holding it). This person said they were the owner and began yelling about a smoking section and how i needed to move now. I didnt see any signs stating there was a section for smoking or that smoking and vaping werent allowed in the general pool area. I kept saying okay to this man, and he kept aggressively yelling at me. Once he finally walked away, I was discussing this encounter with my group, and another set of customers came to us to say they just had the same experience with that person. The person then came back to yell at us for talking about what happened. We just kept saying okay to get this man to leave us alone. After that, I felt the need to leave because of how aggressive this man was and I didnt know if he would physically lash out. Sir, if you truly are the owner, your customer service skills are severely lacking. If youre that concerned about people smoking in a specific area, put up some damn signs and dont come at people aggressively yelling. You just look like a psycho.

What a wonderful place to spend the day. From the pool to beautiful bars inside and outside. Now the hotel above. Even a little store in the back. 🛍️Great spot with amazing staff and great drinks.Ask for Kaitlyn she is an excellent bartender!If you haven’t been, you are missing out! Definitely recommend!

I have to say this was a nice local venue. As always there are going to be some that are not happy. There were a lot of negative reviews. Having been in the industry there are rules that are established for Everyones safety all should and on a legal level Must follow. Customer service is part of ensuring that all have a safe and good experience so give the workers a break and do as directed. As a Flight Attendant there consequences it you dont follow the rules same as when your out and about. Just one thing though. When responding to negative comments sound like at least you are concerned about the comments and not snarky. I will definitely recommend this as a good place for Fun and drinks to my passengers visiting Saint Pete. 😊

Worst Service, but that is now their reputation. Cocktail sucks. Why do you wait 45 minutes to get a drink? Food is terrible and grossly overpriced just like the beverages. Bartenders are absolute JERKS, why? totally insane the way they treat customers. Reading the horror stories about how anyone but young gay men are treated here should be appalling to anyone who calls themselves LGBTQ+ and I do not understand why the community continues to patronize here. Not a safe comfortable space, no community. Terrible Vibe. DO NOT RECOMMEND. Management’s responses to these reviews says a lot. 👎🏽 Ew. Nasty.

Looking with my husband to find a new home. Found it. This neighborhood and this bar specifically. My goodness where are we going to move? Somewhere rite near here. The staff was soo wonderful. Service was Excellent. Food and drink Amazing. They welcomed us soo much, we decided to move into this area. Love it. Animal, Kid, Nanna Friendly. Thank you for the best day and service. The only decent gay bar in St Petersburg FL. High security and rules here will be followed. Was elated to witness first hand how they eject drug users and ban them from here. It’s a safe, clean environment where drugs are not tolerated. Not a place for cheap broke folks and the price point keeps the trash out which my partner and I welcome!Mateo next door has an awesome menu and affordable.It’s the only place we take friends from out of town as the other places are very seedy.

Terrible bar, terrible owners, terrible management. spend your $$$ somewhere else this pride month and always. claims to be a “safe space for LGBTQ+” and uses tragic events like pulse as an excuse for aggressive staff/security. but in reality you should advertise as a safe space for “G” because the “LBTQ+” doesn’t seem to have a space here.

Fun atmosphere but watch your money. I handed the bartender a chip and a $20 for some change. (obviously so I could tip) He walked back while I was talking to someone and grabbed 2 more chips for my single drink. His next pass I smiled and asked his name... His response was why then walked away.He took 3 Big Ol Tube Steaks for a $6.50 Lanazul. Cool. I drink cheap tequila straight with no chaser so its almost impossible to hurt my feelings and I definitely wasnt going to act a fool but I see you. Must be some rough days at the ranch.Last visit I asked to cash out with my card and had $10 in my hand to tip. The guy chose to hit the 20% tip button to assist with my cash out but only gave himself a $7 tip. I laughed and said you played yourself.Desperation has a scent and these boys are stinky.

I am a big supporter of the bar but there needs to be better management of operations. The wait for a drink is often way too long and there seems to be no rhyme or reason to how the bartenders manage workflow (particularly at the inside bar). It is imperative that bartenders pay attention to the timing of when customers approach the bar for service. Too many people get passed over and too many people sit/stand at the bar with empty glasses for too long. With some tightening up and better oversight, this place could increase liquor sales to at least twice of what they are doing on a busy night. Big positive shoutout to Sebastian and Nick. They are always efficient and friendly.

Encountered clear discriminatory policies toward queer women and overheard security using excessive verbal force / harassing patrons for doing a harmless tik tok dance outside by the pool. In a world where “the outside” is increasingly hostile, this place has a long way to go to be the inclusive queer space that St. Pete needs. Let’s do better.

Love love love this bar. But the times that they run out of wells tequila is concerning.Say what you want, but if I am getting a mixed drink, I prefer wells. (doesn’t taste different to me)If you as an establishment run out of wells, the next tequilla up, should be the wells for the time being. Honestly, it sounds like a scheme to get people to pay for higher grade. I ONLY say this because I was told there is not wells, I said okay well I’ll just have a water, and then five minutes later the manager walked up with a bottle of wells … interesting. However, love the atmosphere, the servers, and the drinks.

Kaitlin is the best. First bartender that we have come across on our girls trip who didn’t hate her job. Super helpful, kind, and made awesome drinks. Try the 3rd leg, it will knock your 3rd sock off

The most inclusive space in St Petersburg. As a lesbian, we have felt welcomed. Most importantly, the owners do a ton for the local lgbt community! Fun/safe space for all!

My experience with Cocktail St. Pete was awesome recently with Pride weekend 2023. The staff at Cocktail St Pete hustled and bustled and treated myself and others participating this weekend to excellent beverage service! Cocktail St Pete was the place to be for Pride and because of staff going above and beyond. The concert put on by Cocktail was free to everyone and wonderful! I could go on and on! Thanks Cocktail St Pete! Happy Pride now and everyday! 🏳️‍🌈

Definitely my place. I visit 7 days because its the vibes. The food is amazing, its very spacious with an inside and outside bar, and the pool for the extra spice added. And lets not get started on the DJ’S. The music is amazing. Shoutout to DJ Joe and the others for their amazing selection. Total vibes. Btw you see me in heels not that matters!

An amazing spot for drinks, vibing and people watching in the Grand Central District of St. Petersburg, FL. Live DJ music fills the air and there is always a huge crowd on the weekends inside, at the Wet Spot pool and at the umbrella covered sidewalk seating. I highly recommend Cocktail to anyone looking for a fun and welcoming gay bar in St. Petersburg. With great drinks, a friendly staff, and a commitment to acceptance and love, this is truly a special place that you wont want to miss. Like the sign says, Stiff Drinks, Hard Liquor, Raging Good Times!

The security here is insane.. huge vibe kill. I realize security is important but definitely way to much here. (I didn’t get kicked out or in trouble but seen multiple people get nagged on over some of the silliest things like dancing while in a handstand, he was doing very good at it too) Went out for pride and was super excited to experience the new pool after being told by staff, the night before, it would be open to the public. but wasn’t allowed in because they were “sold out of tickets” the picture was the busiest they were it actually got slower afterwards and still wouldn’t let the public in(everyone that wanted in was willing to pay). I was not the only one with the confusion and disappointment of the pool situation. Huge disappointment especially during pride Weekend. Hope the vibe gets better with time. Great set up but it’s all about the environment I felt safe but I also was afraid I was breaking a rule the entire time.

This place was super fun! I had a couple of friends in from Dallas that wanted to go to a great bar. Side note: super friendly to all orientations! This was my first time as well. To be honest, this place is beautiful. They put some really good time and effort to make it look up-scale. Most of the pictures I’m posting are of the great decor because I just thought it was so good.. It gets super crowded fast so get there early. We actually ended up going around late day for happy hour, and that was perfect for us because it was before it turned into a night club. Tons of other places to eat and visit so if you get bored, you can roam the streets. Drinks are pricey, however, that’s par for the course in DTSP as well as this area of Florida. They have a really fun shop so we grabbed some branded shirts. I bought a fun tee I’ll cut up and wear out. Plus they are working on a hotel addition so it’s gonna be great. They have outdoor seating on the walkway and a “garage door” opens so you can see in the bar and enjoy drinks. Also, no lie, lots of hot boys and girls roamed in here so you get awesome eye candy as well! Win Win! 😂

Cocktail is the premier and BEST gay bar in St. Pete! All of the staff and management is super friendly and forthcoming. The decorations, fixtures, just everything is meticulously planned out and creates a very distinct and unique atmosphere. Drinks are more than worth the price, they are STRONG! And yummy. 😛The people watching is also exquisite!

It was nice weather, so I scootered up to watch superbowl half time there.Sound was inadequate. While waiting, they had an ok but distant DJ playing tunes poolside.I got the usual extremely slow service at the bar. Management doesnt teach their staff they can make more money as an establishment and more tips if you move more quickly.Instead they charge double for one drink (same as a 2 drink minimum) and give you a chip. Bartenders likely get stiffed on the second drink tip because there is no money exchanged.Small crowd, almost empty inside, and 1/4 full outside.Other than the big screen whuch was not being watched with the game silent and halftime with poor sound, there was no activity to draw an enthusiastic crowd. Even cheapskate Flamingo had more energy and interaction among people.

Ive been reading the reviews about security and its all true. You would think you were going into Studio 54 to have security with such bad attitudes for no reason. The female one especially. I live in Fort Lauderdale and some of our bars have security too, minus the attitude. Typically it all starts from management.

My friends were visiting the area and I wanted to take them out for a fun night. We went to cocktail and had a blast!Great dance music and a fun environment. Lots of areas to explore and we really enjoyed the pool bar area. Super fun !Bartender Marc not only made awesome and tasty drinks, he also was so fun to talk to and made the night even more enjoyable. Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for a fun night out in St. Pete ☺️

Place is excellent, nice and trendy! But some of the people that work there, doesnt make it desireble to go. We even were told to go some where else. Manager there is not very friendly. Dont think well go there again, too bad that some employees make the place bad.

Great place for some cheap and delicious drinks. Expect to see a lot of diversity and the occasional person being fingered at the bar in broad daylight. Will be coming back.

Not a safe space for transgender family. Awful run management, the bartenders are slow and the staff could care less about the safety of all their patrons. Seek else where. This is NOT safe space for ALL Queers!

The one stop shop. Rooms are amazing, bars are excellent, pool is fantastic, and the staff are so professional and nice!!

Drinks are nice and no matter how busy it is I never have to wait more than a few minutes for a drink. Always excellent service. Haven’t had the chance to order food but it is definitely on my list to try the next time I’m in town.

I love coming here! Our bartender, Nick was awesome! He was such a sweetheart and made our time fun! Melvin shared all the new exciting things coming up and loves his job! The staff is awesome and the new food was on point!

Fantastic shows, amazing decor, and very friendly staff. Everything is great except for the fact that if theyre even kind of busy and you step outside to the sidewalk patio you have to get in line again to get inside.

If you are apart of the T in the lgbtq I wouldnt recommend its not a safe space for you unfortunately. Stay safe . Trans rights r human rights .

This establishment is definitely a Panache business. The vibe is upbeat and is a fun environment. Keep in mind the interior lends itself to that of a gay establishment with a twist of naughty fun. The interior was well thought out and is inviting to all sexual genres. The drinks are on-point no matter who the bartender is that is pouring. There are bars that have mixed drinks and then you have this place that serves crafted drinks. There is a notable difference. Drinks in the air to the owners and managers. I will continue to visit your place while in St Pete and while entertaining guests. CHEERS!!!

The Back Room and by association Cocktail have poor customer service.Buyer beware! If you shop at the Back Room, make sure whatever you buy fits perfectly before removing it from the store, including gifts. Making exceptions on behalf of the customer is not part of their business model.A friend bought me swimwear from the Back Room. The swimwear was in my size but did not fit. When I called Cocktail, I was told about their no exchange/no refund policy on swimwear. After checking with my friend, he was not aware of this policy.I mentioned to the Cocktail employee the speedos had not been worn and still had their tags. The employee responded rudely, informing me I should have read the sign by the register outlining their policy. The employee added that hell coach the sales clerk in the Back Room to communicate the store policy better. That does not address my immediate inconvenience.Instead of being treated like I was incompetent or with a hostile tone, Cocktail/the Back Room should have been more understanding and willing to work with someone who received swimwear as a gift. I would have thought an exception could be made to get the right size.

Nick executed flawless service as I walked in he didn’t even stutter and began making my tequila soda with a lime. The atmosphere passed the vibe check. 10/10

As a straight woman with many gay friends, I love to hang out at Cocktail. I feel very welcome there and am treated well by security, the staff and managers. It is a very fun vibe and is different depending on when you visit. Afternoons and evenings until 9:00, almost every drink is buy one get one free and it is a laid back atmosphere. Nighttime is stepped up with great dancing and drag queen shows inside. The Wet Spot is awesome for lounging around the pool during the day or enjoying a casual evening outside. (For a fun celebration or just a fun afternoon with friends, get a Cabana!!!) I appreciate that they take security very seriously and I’ve seen multiple people who were intoxicated or not treating others respectfully, asked to leave. I feel very comfortable here and understand that a couple nights a month they want to cater to men with Hide Night. I’ve paid the money and been, so they do let women in, but I’ve decided to respect the guys being able to have a night to themselves and no longer go on Hide Night. Lastly, I must give a shout out to the amazing bartenders, Ian, Sebastian, Katilynn, Jay, and Nick. I always feel well taken care of.

Fantastic new gay establishment. The staff is beyond friendly and made PRIDE so much fun. They were able to keep up with everyone which was amazing in itself, but the bartenders are definitely top notch and I admit nice to look at! Special thank you to Rex, Max, Nick and Ian for making us feel welcome and wanting to come back! Cant wait to visit St Pete and COCKtails again soon.

I love this freaking bar so much. Every time I come they have the friendliest patrons and employees, but last night I met Nick, and lemme tell you, I don’t think I’ve ever met a more personable bartender! He was soooo funny and sweet from the minute we sat down and throughout the night as we kept visiting the bar. He’s the kind of person that makes everyone feel comfortable and like they’re having a great time just by being in his presence and I feel like that makes for a rare and special kind of bartender, and overall human being ❤️ I can’t wait to come back all thanks to the incredible service at this place!

I went to visit my daughter and she took me to the cocktail I had amazing fun!! I drank. BLUEBALLS delicious haha we did karaoke!! Strangers became friends!! I’m def visiting again !!! Love the place

I moved away from the area & came into town for a visit. It was my first time at Cocktail St Pete, and I reserved a cabana with friends at the newly opened Wet Spot Pool Bar. It did not disappoint! The pool is awesome, the staff is friendly, and the DJ played great music throughout the day. There was a drag show around the pool at sundown that was very entertaining. I look forward to coming back & staying at the hotel. I highly recommend this place for Sunday Funday :)

Amazing place to go and have a fun time !! Food is delicious and music is top notch on Thursday nights you got DJ BVMF and his playlist is fire and on the weekends you got their Resident DJ Ace Vedo and she is one of a kind !! Come on the weekend or come on Thursday for the most fun ! But any day here is always a good time with drag performances most nights , karaoke on Tuesday , and a little bit of everything else !

One of the best bars Ive ever been to. I think their names are Spencer and Juan are two of the most attentive and friendly bartenders Ive ever had. Its an awesome place! Highly recommend!

Very nice job they did on the remodel. I had a friend staying at the Mari Jean Hotel above the bar and it was a mess. That said, it has a decent layout and nice space considering its just a flip to a more over-priced downtown for the next generation to flock.The bar itself is laid back and lively all at once. Great atmosphere and depending when youre visiting Im sure youll find just what youre looking for.Generally well behaved mixed crowd of all types. VERY GOOD DRINKS! ASK FOR SPECIALS.

Went there for pride and it was a good time! Didnt feel out of place as a woman, everyone was so welcoming. Just there to have a good time. Miami level expensive, but Blue Balls is one of the best drinks Ive ever had. Wide variety of music and the drag show was fun. It was packed ofc and the line was ridiculous, but it was pride, and the areas were well-ventilated/air conditioned so I didnt feel overheated like at most places. Dont think I can ever go back to a straight club!!

Decor is very nice, security was very professional.However on the night we visited, the bar continued to serve an apparently intoxicated individual who was making the rounds offering multiple patrons unwanted advances and too much touching. A few back offs didnt seem to work so we left. Maybe a one time incident, but think the bar tenders may have missed something?As for the bar:The drinks are very strong they all taste heavily of alcohol. Absolutely, check it out, the outside pool bar is nicer than inside bar, but maybe get your drinks somewhere else and keep an eye out for inebriated patrons.

Ryan was amazing! Pool side bartender that gave the BEST SERVICE. I don’t know about you, but when it comes to a good time, I have some pretty high standards. Well, the boys, a Cocktail sure know how to throw a party boys, booze and booty I mean come on! What else do you need!oh a pool? Got that too! COCKtail St. Pete is the coolest nightclub in the whole Tampa Bay Area! Absolutely love going there with my friends! The management was really kind to us last time we were there and they do an amazing job! Thank you for all the good times! ❤️

Ive been here several times, but after what I witnessed tonight, I will never be back. While the drag show was going on, which pushed people close to the exit, I saw the female security guard at the door push someone who got too close to her & started screaming at the group. No one was misbehaving, it was completely unnecessary. Instead of politely handing & de-esculating the situation, she called for backup & things got out of hand by security. The group was told by security to leave, which they did, but security continued to follow them, push them, & went way too far. The group even completely walked away, down the street & I heard security calling police & then even sent one of their guards to follow that group & have eyes on them. That was way out of line. No one was belligerent. They were defending themselves verbally & security went way too far with something that was minor. I saw the whole thing & decided to leave as well. Those security guards are all on a power trip & need to be better trained to calmly handle MINOR situations, not make them worse.

I truly wish I could give this place 0 stars. Really terrible to see this in st. Pete. Cocktail is NOT a safe place for all queer people‼️‼️

Apparently the bar tenders cant keep track. Lady at night on Saturday with glasses tripped on me cause my husband walked away after paying 10 dollars in cash saying I owed her 10 dollars.. paid with my card no tip since I guess she pocketed my 10 bucks.

I had my first experience at Cocktail recently while visiting St. Pete, and was carrying my pocket knife, was checked at the entrance and had to leave my blade at the front. Long story short, I left the bar and realized the next day that I had forgotten to retrieve my blade. I reached out to the bar and had the pleasure of speaking with Melvin, the director of operations. Between the lost and found places in the bar to the security bouncers who were holding my blade while I was in the bar, Melvin went to great lengths to locate my blade which is quite the sentimental piece to our lil gecko family. He not only kept me posted but when he uncovered the blade he did the extra step of offering to mail it to me since I am not local to St. Pete. I have never been to a bar before where their staff took such good care of me and my concern surrounding my once lost item. Initially, when I noticed the blade was missing, I immediately thought oh great. Ill never see that again. Leaving something, anything at a bar, good luck getting that back. And with little push on my end, Melvin took charge, investigated the situation and came up with results as though he himself was just as personally invested. Highly recommend the bar and the service, from what I could recall that evening, was a very welcoming and enjoyable environment.

The new trend for security at gay bars must be that they’re all homophobic and not LGBTQ+ friendly.. gift shop literally sells poppers, asked worker if it was allowed to do out in the open, was told yes, no one cares, did them, got kicked out, security called my friend a slur all while there were 30 minutes until the ball was about to drop! very pleasant experience. not! disgusting security, won’t be back :) the old lowkey gay bar down the street was far better and more friendly.

We come from Chicago and have to stop at this bar every time. We think this is probably the best gay bar around. Love the pool, the drinks are amazing, everyone is always so friendly. There is nothing bad we can say about this place.

Ive been here twice, once for St. Pete Pride, and most recently this past weekend for Memorial Day Weekend.For memorial day weekend they had a pool party, and it was alright. But the staff are absolutely horrible. At one point I was being harassed by a patron, and even after removing myself from the area he was still following me and harassing all near the bar.No one cared.Decided to leave and walk by to say goodbye to a friend, at which point the patron came back to confront and harass me again. And while telling him that what he was doing was disgusting and to leave me alone, I was approached and told by a staff member that I needed to calm down.Meanwhile Im in a group of four including the offender, who was berating me with comments, and I was the only one being told to calm down for telling this guy to leave me alone. Being quite literally the on black boy at this event, it felt like a very charged comment. Of course I was aggressive with my comments, this man was not leaving me alone and the staff did nothing about this.For St. pete pride, the place was honestly just gross. The bar is open air it just gets so hot and humid, and people spill their drinks everywhere. It gets rancid to say the least.Youre honestly better off at the dog bar, the Garage, or Dt. St. Pete. The bars downtown are plentiful, surprisingly very gay friendly and offer more than just circuit music.

I was shocked to see security put hands on someone and basically get amped / emotional instead of handling it professionally… I heard them order on their headsets to follow people when the customers agreed to leave. in this climate, I am absolutely shocked to see behavior like that from a place I thought was inclusive. Absolutely disappointed.

I have been to this bar multiple times. each time security gives me more and more of a problem for me wearing a clearly visible insulin pump and continuous glucose monitor. these devices cannot be scanned as the magnet interferes with the operability of the devices. never had a problem at any other bar or any other security including TSA. the lady was extremely rude and told me that “my mom is a medical assistant and knows all about this” excuse me what? if she knew about it you wouldn’t be telling me that. and who are you to tell me about my medical devices? i could very well sue with how they have continuously treated me. i’ll go to any other bar where they happily pat me down or check my bag/pockets instead and are not rude about someone’s medical condition/devices. disgusting.

Was going to like this place but when the security wormy guy kicked me and my female friend out for being girls and sharing a bathroom (we were not hooking up or doing drugs), the fun stopped right away. What an absolute buzz Kill. We were buying drinks and tipping. My friend knew someone who was working there that night. A little small warning wasn’t an option to the little guy with the backwards hat? I just wanted a chill girls night but apparently that was too much to ask for. We went to a bar nearby and the staff there (who was lgbtq) said that they are very anti women there. We now know it’s true. I’m so sorry that we’re females and NOT welcomed there. NOT!!! Thanks for bullying us. We didn’t deserve such horrible service.

My friends and I had a terrible experience at this place. We were having drinks at the pool bar, and my friend asked an employee where she could get the shirt he was wearing, which was the bar’s t-shirt. She said she wanted it because she went to the University of South Carolina and that it looked like their mascot. From there, the conversation went downhill and a very steep way. The employee, a bearded man with a prominent belly, who was a little drunk, started calling us republicans (???) and harassing my friend. He wouldn’t leave us alone, even after we asked him several times to leave us alone, and that he was making us uncomfortable. There was some yelling, which was embarrassing af, and he only left us after we called the security.I’m not sure if I’ll return to this place so soon. And will not recommend it either.

One of the best spots to visit in St Pete! Its always a great time, friendly people, great drinks, and amazing music by Dj Ace! Adriana and her drag shows are very fun and entertaining. Also, dont forget the happy hour, take advantage of it!However, I dont understand many of the bad reviews, but I definitely see a pattern of bridal parties trying to rudely take over a gay bar designed for the LGBTQ+ and not for bridal parties, then not feeling at home and leave bad reviews? It all starts with respect and many of them do not respect. These negative reviews are very skewed!

$18 for an aperol spritz!?! Overpriced. Who charges $9 for a shot of aperol and $9 for the proseco? Its a 3oz drink topped with club soda for crying out loud. :( What happened to the HH token for another drink? Not happy at all. Feel ripped off.

My girlfriend and I wanted a night out on the town tryin out some new places, the drinks and environment of this establishment were nice but security made us feel uncomfortable and un-welcomed, they made a fuss we had shown up being women and not men, they showed full respect and happy faces with every male being checked before entering. As for the women they were questioned about their appearance at the club and not so welcoming and respectful towards the ladies. When we finally managed to get in even with full security there; it still didn’t feel right or safe. We left shortly after arriving and headed over to Enigma, where security and staff were Way more welcoming and friendly with all their customers/bystandersEveryone in the club was very friendly and welcoming, and looked to be having a great time. Staff and security were on top of everything without being overbearing and made sure everyone was safe and having a good time.The security at CockTails, could learn a thing or two from security at Enigma.

Must admit was at best skeptical when Cocktail St.Pete opened as I though, “ oh great” another gay bar catering to the young boys of St.Pete. Skepticism GONE!!! As an older gay man (60) my husband and I were treated incredible.. Spencer and Alex are the best bartenders around. Spencer has remembered our name every time we visit and Alex makes a GREAT Vodka gimlet!!! In fact probably the best I’ve had in St .Pete . Cocktail has a great outside sidewalk seating and the inside has great music and great decor… If you haven’t been here yet … get here!!! You’ll be glad you did!!!

To set the scene: 12:02 AM February 19th, after finishing up a particularly raucous session at the karaoke bar across the street, we decided the night was still young and went to have drinks and dancing at Cocktail St. Pete. We approached security and my partner was stopped and had to remove his pocket knife and submit it to the security staff. After a few drinks and much dancing, we decided to call it a night and left. The next morning, we realized that we had forgotten the pocket knife that we had surrendered to the security staff and we feared that recovering it would be a lost cause. We called the bar and explained that the knife was of great sentimental value and Melvin, the director of operations, went above and beyond to ensure that our property was returned to us. He not only spoke to staff and bouncers, but also reached out to their security company to further investigate in recovering our property. He kept us updated and really took initiative as though he himself was just as personally invested. Even shipping it to us out of town for as we were only visiting St. Pete on holiday. Normally I don’t care to write reviews on places but I felt obligated due to the above and beyond service that I received even after we had left the premises. I will be returning to Cocktail St. Pete anytime I find myself in the St. Pete area, but will probably leave the pocket knife at home.

COCKtail is always great, but this past pride weekend was an all hands on deck affair and I am purely amazed by the workings of this well oiled machine that just chugs along as if it’s just another day in paradise. Security team are not professional at all. They should be train to talk or deescalate the situation instead to threaten their customers.. in a really busy night not one likes to be pushed around make instructions clear where people want or not to be… security team were completely unprofessional and rude and fearful and we never comeback it was a really scary situation… people. Fun place to visit especially randomly stumbling upon it while waiting for reservations elsewhere. The drink prices were in line with a nightclub, and although the place is fairly small the layout supports the crowd well. The music was fun and bartenders attentive. There is an outdoor area that ends up being a little quieter if youre not trying to be in the middle of the crowd. The main area gets a bit difficult to stay in with your usual getting bumped by everyone walking by. Fun place to go for an hour or two and hop!

Our bartender Nick was amazing!! Wonderful service and conversation! He made us feel so welcomed. We will definitely be returning thanks to Nick!

Its incredibly smoky, even inside the bar. They let people sit at bar on garage door side smoke. They chain smoke and blow the smoke inside because thats the way they are facing. Nasty

Been here a couple of times. It feels too uptight to enjoy yourself much. Also, the Wet Spot pool policies are confusing- its only open 11AM-4PM? Or is that when you have to pay to use the pool? Also vapers/smokers have to go huddle in a corner outside

This was a truly disappointing experience. The bar denied me entry because I didn’t have my passport on me. This is insane because I’m from Canada. Why would a bar require a passport when I can provide proff of age. This is quite appalling would not reccomend coming here

Cocktail by far is our favorite place in St. Pete, great drink prices, beautiful decor, the best entertainment and the bartenders are the best, very friendly and they rocked the house during Pride. Thank you Cocktail.

I went during the day during the week. What an awesome little place. It’s new and enough room for a large group of friends to get together. It’s open and bright, perfect for a date or friends to hang out. I’d love to come back during a Friday night. I know it would be fun. Great atmosphere & I’m sure they’ll be successful if they keep up the good work.Update: I went at night and it was a lot of fun. Although, they mostly played music for an older crowd because of the area. There was a mix of older and younger people, but my group quickly got tired of listening to old classics. We’re also from South FL so it’s a much different type of party & music so we sort of understand it’s different on the west coast

Came here for my birthday weekend, had a phenomenal time. Bartenders were all extremely nice, caring and very efficient. Huge shoutout to Spencer and Gavin who were extremely kind to me while I was there. If you havent checked it out I would highly recommend it. Thanks again for a very memorable time!

Gay friendly. Not gay. Used to go more often but now we only go on Hide Night when there’s a $25 cover for women. I get that women feel “safe” here but they forget that gay bars are safe places for gay people not straight women, their husbands and bachelorette parties. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Visited St Petersburg from Texas, and came out the night of our first full day and had a blast! So we went back the next night. Great music, drinks, and people!

Stopped in for a quick drink and had an amazing experience. The drinks were amazing and they had specials. The staff was super friendly and the atmosphere was perfect! 10/10 would go again!

This bar is exactly what Saint Petersburg Florida needed. Friends and I went for the soft opening and for the VIP opening night and I have to say the owner David not only hit it out of the park but all around killed it! I’ve been back more than a few times and each time I find more to love about cocktail. The vibe is unreal and the staff is fantastic!This is definitely one of the best spots in Tampa Bay. From the marketing, to the drinks to the interior design. Honestly 10/10 it deserves more than 5 stars!Do yourself a favor and go enjoy a stiff drink with an awesome atmosphere!

This is the first time I have EVER written a BAD company review. I probably should have posted immediately when it happened, but again not one to stir the pot/ complain. However, this incident happened two months ago and it is still burned into my mind how disrespectful/rude/unfair it truly was. My friends and I were out in St. Pete, bar hopping. We arrive at cocktails probably around 9:30/10PM and the males were free to get in, and women were $20. Which is completely fine and understandable. I do not have a problem with that or paying cover. What I do have a problem with is this: as we were waiting on the side, trying to figure out where we wanted to go, someone who identifies as male walks up and ask to get in. The woman who was working the front (she had brown hair, tied back in a ponytail, and a black hat on) says, you can not come in, women are $20. They respond: but I identify as a male and I am even dressed/ look like a male. The woman working the door: yeah, I dont care, what does your I.D. say? ............. W.O.W. Let me just tell you how hurt/upset that person was and how I witnessed you invalidate them. Not only did you all invalidate them for how they feel/ who they are, but straight up disrespect them. I mean in my opinion, this person looked more like a male, than the actual males that were allowed in the club. This person was clearly upset and left to obviously go to another bar somewhere else. My point is, the situation could have been handled SO much better or even a BETTER CHOICE OF WORDS if the establishment only allows in their choice of what a male is. Do better. Please.

Really disappointed. This place was recommended as a good place for LGBTQ friendly and we were excited to go here after the drag show at salty nun down the way (AMAZING, go to Salty Nun!) We grabbed a table outside and the guy who came to check out IDs and give us wristbands was super friendly! However, when we picked drinks- my girlfriend went to the bar to order. She stood there waiting, and the bartender walked up and greeted her— then, 2 men walked up directly next to her and the bartender approached them and immediately took THEIR order, completely ignoring my girlfriend after she waited. Mind you— there was all of 5 people at the bar total, so this felt calculated like he intentionally didn’t want to serve her/us. Honestly, so disappointed. Don’t market yourself as an LGBTQ friendly bar if you aren’t going to serve all LGBTQ folks equally. We went on Mother’s Day, 5/7/22 and it was the bartender working the street side of the bar. No thanks and absolutely WILL NOT recommend this to others. Not friendly or accepting at all. 👎🏼

Our bartender Vicky, was literally the best throughout our vacation. Talked to us about things to do, and how to not worry about the hurricane 😅 definitely wished we could have made it back before we left town. Ive previously enjoyed my time there but tonight had a horrible experience of security misgendering a friend and mocking them as they passed. As a safe queer place its completely unacceptable to have a transphobic worker at the door & its not the first instance Ive heard of.

Went for gay pride 2023. What a party..great DJs..security was awsome.bartenenders unbelievable.may take time to get in the door with so many people but they have to make everyone safe...cabanas are a must do experience. Great time..thanks to all the people working that hot as hell weekend.

I love this bar! It’s has a very homey feeling but also very trendy and modern. Great bartender, including Vicki! Amazing memory of my drinks even when I am away for months. I suggest this place to anyone living or visiting St. Pete. Top notch!

We have been to Cocktail, a few times now. Here are my initial thoughts.The bar is a nice size and they keep Enigma’s similar happy hour schedule of two for one drinks (except craft beer) from 12 - 9. Over a few visits we tried most of the martinis. I honestly didn’t like most of them so I’ll probably stick to calls, beer, and wine here. I found that most of the bartenders were quite well trained and did well with the volume on opening week.The drag shows are good. Unfortunately, the first show only had each performer sing one song each lasting only about 30 minutes. They have a later show, but on Sunday night I noticed the bar cleared out after the first show. My recommendation is to make the first show longer which will keep people there longer. I don’t think people want to stay out as late on Sunday night so trying to get them to stay until the second show.The concept for the Wednesday shows is cool too. Again I would like to see the first show be a bit longer. Maybe I am just old though.The DJ has been good and we enjoy the music. They also have gogo boys most nights that dance on the boxes. Bring cash to tip them because they don’t have an ATM yet (but it’s coming).As far as COVID precautions, this place opened after the governor ended all mask requirements. As a result, no staff wears mask and patrons aren’t wearing them either.

Only get another star to support the lgbt community, they over poured my old fashioned by *at least* 2 shots. Remade it with a cherry!! Told me I was in for a looong night when I had blacked out against my wishes two weeks earlier. Really just a brutal place. Don’t come here if you’re not American, they have the most incompetent ownership. Don’t accept IDs, or even passport photos if you’re from Europe, Canada, etc. Probably the dumbest management staff I’ve ever encountered anywhere. Bad vibes all around. Don’t go here.

Started out fantastic. Ended up disappointed. Went on Thursday afternoon and David (not the surly, pudgy David) was totally attentive and charming ... went back later in the evening and encountered a totally different vibe behind the bar … inattentive, no eye contact, and making busy work for themselves (surly David only focused on moving ice from one side of the bar to another while ignoring customers).This place could have the potential to be a fun, very inclusive environment, but the bartenders need a BASIC lesson in customer engagement... and an attitude adjustment.We ended up leaving and going to Enigma, and had a great time.

I’m not going to give Cocktail any less than 3 stars because it’s a much-needed establishment in St.Petersburg and most of the employees are amazing. However, my husband and I came here tonight on Friday, February 11th, not knowing it was a special event (leather night). It was a pretty great atmosphere! We each got one drink and were dancing when my husband then went to grab one of the slinkies on the ceiling. A security person immediately saw and stormed over to us and told us we had to leave. They kicked us out with no warning. Should my husband have touched the slinky? No, I guess not. He didn’t rip it off; he barely tugged on it. But we were immediately kicked out. We didn’t even finish our drinks yet. So, we stood at the door and chugged our drinks to then hand them off to the security guy who was kicking us out. I understand that security has to be vigilant on nights like this, but an initial warning would have been nice… The security guy was clearly watching and waiting because it all happened within seconds. I’d rather him just watch us for the rest of the night after a warning and then kick us out if we were being belligerent, which we weren’t (we only had 1 drink).

I went to Cocktail this past Saturday night June 19th. My third time going and my last time going.. The music could be good if she did not change the song every 30 seconds. You start dancing to a song then all sudden its changed. She does not let a song the play out. The drinks are way too expensive. Staff is very rude at front door. If you go outside for a cigarette or for some fresh air, they force you to get back in line to come back in.. I give it a thumbs down.need They

They wouldn’t let me in with my drivers licence…. Said I needed my passport. I’ve been here like 30 times in the past with my licence no problem until today. So unorganized.

The line to get in is stupid, they say “we have a high tech system so they take time to put ur ID in the system” then come back a second time to have to pull ur ID back out to get in. They need to make two lines with people that r verified and ones that aren’t. To me pointless and holds up the line. And too many straight people for me but the bar itself and the music is nice

The owner of the business kicked us out because our sober friend in the group bumped into him on accident (as that happens in crowded bars) and then decided to start belligerently yelling at her and throw our group out for it. As we were leaving he then proceeded to tell one of our girls to “go eat p***y somewhere else” and then called another one of our girls fat. He was also clearly off his rocks, which I don’t know how one runs a business. He found an opportunity to throw a group of straight women out, and if you read the other reviews there’s a pattern of women being mistreated and Unwelcome at his bar.

I wish the DJ and the music were as well thought out as the design of the place. Well, I wish the DJ put ANY thought into what they were playing. It wasn’t even a “mix” there was no perspective and it quite literally sounded like they were switching the dial on the radio, desperate to find a song the crowd liked. They cut off songs in the middle of which the crowd was obviously enjoying and then would switch out all sorts of things in the garbage pop music mix. Have a perspective as a DJ, practice your mix and yes this kind of thing can become an art. But when you see the entire room literally stop dancing in the middle of what you are doing, you need to question what you’re doing and study harder. I really wanted to like this place too, shame.

Woke, rude staff. Stereotype 70s, 80s, 90s gay music. No dancing. Weak, overpriced drinks. Full of old dudes and angry women. I have tried this spot three times. The only reason this place has business is because it is a gay bar in a good location for gay bars.

Came here with my girlfriend and family, we really enjoyed the atmosphere here, bartenders were great and the people surrounding us was a good vibe. Definitely recommend come for a drink at The Cocktail!

This place is underrated. I had SUCH an amazing time. Will definitely be back! Great DJs, bartenders, security, everything was clean, I love that they have lockers for personal items.

Cocktail in St. Pete is one of my new favorite places! The drinks are so tasty and the atmosphere is very fun. They put on Drag Shows as well! Do yourself a favor, and go check it out. 🤩

What a fantastic bar to stop at and enjoy . The music is wonderful and the folks behind the bar are amazingly wonderful. This is certainly a fun bar I will be coming back to on a regular basis.

This bar is nice but they are trying too hard. The prices here are astronomical....toto I dont think were in Kansas anymore! We were here for sing along night and at first it was kind of weird but after the drinks started flowing it turned out to be pretty fun!

Horrible place! My friends and I went out here and the bartender was extremely anti feminist and after speaking with the manager they did absolutely nothing about it. Theres no way this is a ally space. Go to enigma they would never treat you like this!!

They charged me $14 for what appeared to be a half portion of Grand Marnier IN A WINE GLASS because they apparently couldnt afford to buy snifters. 😳 Im sitting in another very nice bar right now where they only charged me $9 and I got twice as much and it came in a snifter! Cocktail St Petes is a rip off!!! 🏳️‍🌈🤨

Place does not accept people who are different. Will throw you out and man handle you for having different views. Woke and rude people, if i could I would give them zero stars. Dont go here if u want to have a good time avoid it. Literally threw us out after one beer.

Witnessed the security harassing two straight women instead of just making them leave for using the restroom together . Pretty scary and could have easily escalated to a dangerous situation.the security here is rude and terrible .willnever return

Early on my husband and I were there every weekend but sorry to say, some of the staff are rude and a bit full of themselves. Which is why my husband and I arent going anymore, after some bad experiences we decided to go back to Enigma. Show some of them what “FRIENDLY” means.

Best place in town! Everyone treats you like family. If you see bad reviews, look at who is leaving them. Maybe they should take the bridal party elsewhere!

Tonight they manhandled my sons boyfriend for no reason beyond different beliefs. Bunch of woke idiots. Go woke go broke. They should not be in business. Unaccepting opinionated and unprofessional. They don’t even deserve 1 star.

Not a friendly place for international tourists, they dont allow you to enter with your Driver License, they would only accept (allegedly) your passport 🤔... Its the only bar in the whole US that Ive been asked my passport to enter a bar

Jevon made me the best mezcal margarita I’ve ever had. Such an amazing environment and drink. If you’re in the area you have to come here and dance and get a cocktail. Seriously five stars all around thank you Jevon!

Live the atmosphere here. The Shirley temple with Grey goose is amazing! And you should also check out the fun little vending machine it back. There are some surprise pack 😘 haha

Rude and Inconsiderate. I was at a previous 5 star restaurant.It’s unbelievable they cut off myFriends and myself, :(Bar is beautiful but if staff can’t recognize a group of women having fun, and are rude from the get go, I’ll take my business elsewhere. Really disappointing, as this place is for sure what st pete needed.

Had two lovely drinks and met lovely people. Nearly left without my water bottle but security chased me down just to return it. Best staff in St Pete - thank you!! X
