Visited for pride! It was very busy but the staff was friendly and quick to refill your drink! Great happy hour and overall just friendly vibe of people. One of my favorite gay bars in St Pete!

A fun option for a gay bar. Nightly events. Tends to be an older crowd but a yet a bit diverse, which is wonderful, drinks are great! Karaoke is always fun to watch! Amazing singers

Literally so much fun. Dancing and good music in a small but cozy space. Bartenders and even security are very kind. They accidentally bumped into us and we dropped our drink and they immediately replaced it. Drag queens and the whole experience ♥️♥️♥️

I enjoy Enigma for the most part! The drag is always incredible and the crowd is always diverse. However, as a femme presenting person, I did find that the bartenders seemed to favor male presenting people more heavily. Otherwise, it’s a fun queer spot !

Not very friendly. Very nice looking bar with the art inside. Entertainment was ok. Warning...THEY DONT ACCEPT CAPITAL ONE CREDIT CARDS.... Ive been with this credit card company for years and they ban merchants for too many fraud alerts. Check your bill. Just ok. Would not return.

If you are looking for a place with a Great atmosphere, scooter parking, and open late, this place is for you. The drag show was phenomenal. They have an open air bar area as well. Bartenders were friendly.

Look no further. This is the place to be. The staff is so welcoming and friendly. The drinks are great but the music is even better. Eric knows what he’s doing. Kate is an absolute boss, if it was my bar I would promote her ;). This is the place to be!

I don’t visit this place often but when I do it’s always a good time…this time it wasn’t. At the end of New Year’s Eve night a bartender or bar back decided to rip my drink that I was actively drinking out of my hand however certain other individuals kept drinking. It was borderline assault. I have never experienced something like that at any bar/club, most places would just politely ask to finish the drink before you exit the building

Don’t give out your card to keep a tab open. They will steal from you by overcharging you. My tab was $9, gave $3 in tips for a total of $12.00 and they charged me $50.00, something that I already claimed with my bank. Unethical bartenders.

Had an amazing time there. I was suggested the fruity pebbles martini and the banana cream martini and they were absolutely delicious. Even though I went on a Sunday night my friends and I had and amazing time. Everyone felt very welcoming.

A little annoyed. We came for our anniversary and tipped the drag queen, Natalia, $40 and she told us to get off stage after asking for anyone celebrating anything. Not sure what happened but left a bad taste in our mouth of this place.

Always a great, safe place. Daphne is awesome. We all love her. ❤️ The staff is amazing. Always look forward to going there and having a fantastic time.

Sketchy place- thieves taking purses and wallets. Mgmt doing nothing about it-like they are in on it. Going down hill! So sad-used to be fun but now totally not safe. Do not recommend at all unfortunately

I was so excited to come here for the first time ever and I was treated so rudely by the male bartender w the curly hair. I have been wanting to come here for years and I cannot believe that the first experience tonight was ruined. He was so rude to me and my friend

Enigma (and most of downtown St. Pete) is my playground. I know most, if not everyone here. The bartenders have always served me drinks with a smile and a wink. This place is so much fun and has so much great energy with the lovely drag queens. Out of state visitors should always come here, they are welcome to take part in the gift that is Enigma.

The location, performances, and security are good. The power hungry bartenders not so much. I have been a few times and experience is always the same. I recommend paying only with cash and only purchasing pre-packaged drinks. You will either get lower grade of alcohol, additional additive you didn’t ask for (continue to read reviews as you will see how they tend to “spike” drinks”) and if dare call them on it they keep your card and demand you leave. You can email the establishment, owner use to have Albi, but you never get a response. I luckily locked the the card immediately through the app. I also reported to credit card company. This type of management of allowing associates to treat patrons at will is what causes adverse treatment to the LGBTQ community. Enigma does not represent gay St. Pete or have any pride. Totally pathetic and unprofessionally ran.

I was downtown strolling, stopped there for a late afternoon margarita. Old school gay bar, older crowd, dark interior. Loud, thin sounding sound system, lots of distortion. Very attentive bar tenders, good margarita, though.

Had a fun time here. I feel like this bar has something for everyone. There is outdoor seating with TV playing sports, pool tables, and a dance floor with decent music. Staff was very nice. I got drinks from Kerissa last night and she was probably one of the best bartenders I’ve ever seen. Made my drinks SUPER fast and was very attentive.

Went last night and was very surprised! Awesome DJ and sound system. Bartenders are great and guests are very friendly. As a solo traveler from out of state and not knowing anyone, I felt very comfortable there and totally enjoyed myself. Great job to the whole staff.

We had a nice time. The Bartender is friendly and attentive. Great drink specials. The Margaritas were made with fresh lime juice. We went on a Saturday afternoon. It was mostly men there, but all in all we had a nice time.

This is a really nice LGBT friendly bar on Central Avenue in St. Petersburg. The staff is very personable, and there is Happy Hour each day. There is indoor and outdoor sitting. Dogs are welcome to sit with you outside.

Fun atmosphere. Mixed crowd. Mostly gay. Straight friendly. Easily to access. Parking can be hard to find sometimes. However usually always a great experience. Good music. Good drinks. And amazing bartenders. Truly love this little gem.

Enigma is a fabulous atmosphere where you can enjoy relaxing moments of beverage ecstasy and carry-on with all your neighborhood friends and new acquaintances. The staff is super friendly and are attentive to all your requests and new thirsts.

It used to be better in my opinion. It has been in a bit of a decline (at least the last few times Ive been there). You can still find nice people there and the music is fine. I may have not been lucky, the last couple of times I went there on a weekend it was close to empty.

It’s a great place to hangout. Everyone is welcome, gay straight and everyone in between. The drinks are good. Music always playing with an outdoor covered patio. The front bar services the front of the club and the outdoor patio. The rear bar services the crowd on the raised platform that accommodates groups and people that would prefer to be away from the bustle of the crowd. They have one pool table that cost $1.50 per game. They have a dart board, but I haven’t played darts there yet so I don’t know how much it is per game. Overall, it’s a great place to go to have some fun for a few hours. Enjoy

Drinks were good and reasonably priced. The drag was awesome. But the dj…ugh. House music only which is not my jam. Just ruining music that would be way better not being turned into EDM. Play some Britney Spears and leave it alone. We don’t need the beat drop.

Went there last night for the first time to celebrate my 47th birthday with my husband and had a great time. The atmosphere, guests, bartenders and drag queens were great. A fabulous time. Dancing music and a show. Cant wait to come back soon.

I love our local gay bar, the staff is incredible and Tyler is one of the nicest and best bartenders in the area. All of the staff is friendly and welcoming and take the time to actually get to know you when they’re a little slower.This is by far one of the best places in Tampa Bay to relax and get a drink.They probably have one of the best drag shows on Friday in the area. They put other bars like Bradley’s to shame.Never had a bad night or bad service in my time going there. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting or any locals that haven’t got to experience it yet!

I went for Sunday Funday late afternoon. So fun and crowded. All ages and types hanging inside and outside. Some brought their dogs. Great happy hour prices too. Beautiful part of downtown. I stayed quite a while and met some awesome people. Cant wait for my next trip to visit.

Marquis and Tyler were my favorite bartenders. Im picky and told them the flavors I want and they both made me amazing drinks. They have two for one specials til 9pm and Monday is Karaoke which is a blast. They definitely have some talent show up! I loved the locals I met here, by far my favorite bar in DTSP!

What a great night. Was definitely live on Saturday. A bit crowded but everyone complied with CDC guidelines and wore a mask even on the dance floor. Felt good to be able to enjoy some drinks and relax. Prices are also in your favor.

Great friendly bar. Attentive staff, great drinks comfortably LGBT atmosphere. Great place to grab a casual drink or two before dinner, or a great place to hang with friends and dance the night away. Outside porch area, multiple bars never go thirsty, or unattended. Located on central Avenue near good restaurants and decent parking. Although Uber is probably best method if your drinking. Awesome happy hour deals practically 2 drinks for the price of one most days of week. People are friendly, not overly drunk but happily buzzed. 😁🌈

I have a love hate relationship with this place. I think its way too loud with not the best music but its always full of people and quite fun. Drinks are great during happy hour but can get pricey. Still worth going to when you are in the mood. Great location too.

I used to love this bar, new bartenders aren’t trust worthy tho. Currently disputing 4 charges on my card where over $100 of extra tip was added to my transactions. Don’t pay with card.

Last night on New Years was an amazing atmosphere! Me and my partner loved the music, drinks, and our bartenders of course were rocking as always ❤️ The security people made us feel safe and kept mask and safety procedures in check. all in all I DEFINITELY recommend 👌-Toni

We walked in here randomly for some weekend afternoon drinks, chatted up a friendly couple at the bar... They said theyre going to Beau & Mos for dinner. Whats Beau & Mos? Next thing we knew, and thanks to the two lovely ladies, we ended up going there too for an epic steak dinner at the bar! They had table reservations so we didnt crash their party lol :D This should probably be a review for B&M :D Anyway, my point is that the folks we met at Enigma are fun and friendly!

Best gay bar in St. Pete with friendly bartenders. Only change I would make is to vary up the lighting scheme, make it more fun and different or set the lights to rotate colors. Otherwise love it and will be back!

What a fantastic bar! Come before 9 and you get buy one get one chips that you can redeem before 9:30pm any day of the week. The bartenders here are fantastic. I love to ask them to make me something good and they always deliver. Chris, Justin, and Melvin are amazing and the ones I interact with the most. Also, the door men here are fantastic. So nice and helpful. All around, I highly recommend this place if you want a nice drink, great conversation, and a lovely location.

Kute place to go hangout and have drinks. I like the drink chips during happy hour. Wish the music was more diverse though.

Loved this pace for years but now its not the same takes forever to get waited on and help is NOT friendly. I just want to add that the staff has totally up their game, bartenders completely rock....and I have been so happy to be back home to our community bar. A welcome bar/club with great nighttime staff. The security guys have fielded some wild weeknight shenanigans with a particular grace and muscle you dont find many places. Karaoke with KJ Craig is always a good time, and the bar staff is always pleasant and fairly quick during the weekdays Ive been. All varieties of queer welcome and celebrated, and more recently, fairly tolerant of a young hipster-esque crowd.

Great bartenders and good music. Not for singles looking to make new friends. I have given this place several tries. Tonight a couple sat next to me and angled their barstool so his back was facing me. This is unacceptable behavior for a bar. I left without finishing my drink. I do much better meeting people at Applebee’s.

Spent my 61st birthday here, 09/30/22. Everyone from Nick who got me birthday drink, beautiful drag queen getting me on stage for twerking contest ( I came in 2nd 🤣) to amazing warm & welcoming customers. As straight woman who got into 1st gay bar at 17 it was a trip down memory lane & amazing fun & lovely time. I was alone because family & friends were tied up with Hurricane Ian issues but I felt like I was with family & friends. Thanks to all at Enigma ❤️

One of my default go-tos in town. Great atmosphere, staff is nice, engaging and good customer service all around. Good place to lounge, people watch and have a cocktail. You can eat too - plenty of restaurants to choose from in the vicinity. Order and at at the bar or table.

Great atmosphere. Wonderful bartenders. I dont go out much but I totally enjoyed my time spent there. Met and talked to a lot of nice people. I had a great time there.

Very fun places they offer amazing drinks, everyone has good vibes. They offer games outside the bar such as Jenga. Professional sound systems and lighting. Music played inside upbeat dance music. No dress code. Drinks are mid range priced. Smoke allowed outside which is covered from rain and seating outside with tables. Multiple bars located inside the building. No cover charge to enter. Great place for everyone. Parking can be a pain, if you go on the weekends.

Fun atmosphere, but the drinks are over priced in my opinion. 5$ for a rall whiskey sour, and almost 9 for a makers and sour...Im not really here for that. But it was busy and everyone was having fun respectfully so thats always great.

It is what it is. The local gay bar where everybody knows your name. Service is good and it serves a purpose but I never felt like the Energy of the place flowed. Maybe it’s because you’re sitting on the sidewalk and it’s cut off from the rest of the galley like bar. Or maybe I just miss George’s alibi

Came here for a friend’s birthday and ended up leaving after two drinks because of one of the bartenders. Literally just rude, god awful miserable personality. Rolled his eyes at us, got snippy, acted like we were inconveniencing him at every moment of the interaction. All three of us walked away and were shocked by the way he acted toward us. I have no idea why I tipped this individual because as someone who was in hospitality for years he deserved nothing. No idea if all of their staff acts this way or just that one because we ended up leaving and going to Cocktail due to his bad vibes.

5 stars for an epic Monday Night karaoke experience.

Have been coming here for years. Was excited to show my friends visiting in town their first drag show, only for them to be singled out for cheering on their favorite performer because they were “white girls that were too loud”. Once was a enough, but then they kept being attacked throughout the night by staff and one regular bar goer, to the extent of being called “ugly” and person who was not white was “an embarrassment to their tribe”. We supported all members of the show both by tipping and by cheering, and I am blown away at the utter disgrace of the way my friends were treated. I will never return to this bar again, and will encourage all of my friends to do the same.

Visiting st.petes from Missouri. Stopped in August 27,2018 and it was karaoke night. The bartender was one of the nicest weve had since being here. The crowd was very nice and the singing was great! Very clean, modern, and cool. Has an outdoor bar with service and surrounded by tables where you can grab a drink from the bar and chill or smoke.

Great place for happy hour or to have drinks with friends. The bartenders are attentive, professional and friendly. You will find locals and visitors having a great time at either of the 3 bars.Tables and sidewalk available. Melvin is one heck of a bartender!

Much better music for the Pride event than the Floridian Social Club! The only downside was that there were too many bodies in there & not enough airflow literally shoulder to shoulder and we couldnt breathe or move.

Updated 9/5/2022: Enigma continues to be the most open inclusive bar in St. Pete. I would love to see a little more work on the videos that are playing when a DJ is not present though. For example, the vibe was totally killed when they played John Legend followed by Taylor Swift. The music should always be upbeat. Enigma is a bar and club and we don’t want to bring the vibe down. I would love to see less TVs turned to sportsball as well. Unfortunately Enigma did some shakeups earlier in the summer and a few of your favorite bartenders are no longer here.Enigma is St Pete’s premier gay bar. The bartenders are friendly and they keep your drinks full. They ha e happy hour every day from 12:00 - 9:00 where you get 2 for 1 on just about everything except draft beer. One of the best values for your money in the entire city. When you order a drink, they will give you a chip that you can redeem for your second drink. If you don’t use it that night, you can always bring your chips back and use them another time. Chips can be used until 9:30 pm every day.Enigma does a pretty good job with face masks and there are reminders everywhere for you to keep them on while standing.They always have some space outside that you can sit.

The Friday night drag show is the best time to go. But be warned its a mixed crowd and a lot of bachelorette parties are held there.

The bartenders were great. It needed a stronger air conditioner for how many people were cramming in. The drag show was great but difficult to see. They really need a larger space for their performances.

So. I was excited to trip across this place as LGTBQ+ friendly while headed to a highly recommended two doors down pan Asian eatery... looked it up while waiting. All guys, lots of cig smoke, all yt. So, Im from S. Cal, queer, WOC and comfy being an only at times so... I start read reviews. The owner/mgmt seems non plused by the comments re service, energy, and what looks and reads like the gay version of a good Ole Boyz club. Wait... just spotted one POC male in the midst. Its ok to have preferred clientele or a particular customer base; just own it. Im scouting cool spots to come back to after my first time to St. P. In 2022, disappointing!

Great bartenders - they make a decent Cosmo. Unfortunately, as an older guy, I feel more uncomfortable with all of the younger folks that go there than I do at other clubs. But in the grand scheme of things, it is a nice place.

Gave it a few tries. Not my cuppa.They make a regular practice of singling out a group to ridicule. Entertainment for the in crowd at the expense of the others.A shameful practice for a group of people who have suffered the same treatment throughout history.There are better venues to visit, sans toxicity.

Omg where do I start. Great drinks at a reasonable price, great DJ and a dance floor to cut loose lol, a welcoming atmosphere. I had such a great time. I will definitely be back.

Always very attentive service here and terrific management. Drinks are well poured and very very reasonable. Its mostly a mans bar, but can become mixed especially during baseball season. The neighborhood is eclectic, vibrant, artsy, edgy, everything that Saint Petersburg has become known for over the last decade. Kudos to Enigma. It can turn into a nightclub later in the evening, but its mostly a drinking bar with videos and billiards during the afternoon and early evening. There is no food here, but they welcome you to bring in outside food from the many vendors and eateries within walking distance.

Fun welcoming bar, super friendly and the drink prices are great! Weekly events like karaoke! Also they have awesome local artist on the walls and a pool table.

Bartenders are good. Quick. Respectful, always. The busser/doorman outside prolly deserves a raise or whatever.The crowd is good too, if you drink enough. U bar concept with open windo to bar and outside seating. Usually pretty busy, time to go home around 1 unless youre lucky enough to meet someone who can hold a conversation and isnt too faded. All around, for better or for worse, my favorite gay place in St. Pete.Only complaint is the dance area (area, not floor) is awkward.

Love the atmosphere and clientele but the drinks are awful. Tried multiple different combinations on different days and can to the conclusion their soda gun is either not clean or they need their carbon changed. Overall great place but they need to look at their soda gun

This place is a small quaint place.Its a bar of every type of person.Which was fanatstic. Wanted to take a couple of pictures, but asked not to. To keep the privacy of the patrons and other individuals. Bar Tenders are awesome. Great place to go back for a couple of beers

We frequent enigma because the service is always top notch. Mixed drinks are not weak and they often have two for one going on. We are a straight couple, Enigma is very gay. Nobody cares one way or the other but I mention it in case you do. We are not true regulars and dont see the same people every time but whoever we do see are friendly and outgoing. Fun drinking place.

The place is fun. However, its hard to get a drink when you have the loud speakers with a drag queen singing her lungs out. There has to be a better system.

Service on a busy Friday is marginal and not very friendly. Its as if they hired angry straight guys to serve.Crowd was nice mix of folks. Good dance music.

I went to cocktails first then Enigma, on a Saturday night. The music was way better at enigma and the vibe was chill. Everyone was having a good time. Enigma draws an older mixed crowd., which I like. I had a good time.

I took my boyfriend here who was visiting from Texas. We didnt feel comfortable here. And we werent made to feel comfortable or accepted. If theres a super secret elitist club of accepted clients that are only accepted based on what the clientele approve here, then Im glad I took him someplace else.TL;DR be a special kind of gay to feel welcome here. I dont know what the requirements are.

Chris the staff here was very rude. He had a difficult time processing my request to cash out, and was codescending and short when I asked to close out a tab. He seems to have that service industry jaded attitude that allows him to treat frequent patrons as garbage. What a shame! As a born and raised local who always felt comfortable at this establishment I am very sad and disappointed that this is part of what represents our LGBT community.

Someone put something in my drink there. I could not move, talk or react for hours after I left the place. I was fine when I walked out about 15 minutes later I could barely call a friend to come and help me( by the time length it seemed like 5 minutes after I got in the car I went blank). She had to come and pick me up two blocks away from it.Watch out ladies!

Service is very slow, music is ear-splittingly loud so normal conversation is impossible. No outside seating. Parking isnt much of an issue and theres a wide range of ages here. I wont be going back anytime soon. Not worth the drive from Tampa.

This is one of the main gay bars in St Petersburg along with Cocktails. Its a nice mixture of people, theres a pool table, TV screens, small dance floor and sidewalk seating, large main bar

Love this place but had an unfortunate thing happen last night. My friend is in town from St. Louis and because they keep your credit card, it was given to someone else. Maybe they should start swiping the card and giving it back like most places these days so this won’t happen again. Now my friend has no money and he JUST got here last night. Bartenders weren’t very concerned but the MOD was great. Here’s hoping the person that has his card returns it.Update: Ed, the owner, reached out and did what he could to help with the situation. I was very appreciative!!

Great time. A little pricey, but Ive never had a bad night here. Great atmosphere, lovely humans on both sides of the bar. All around good time!!

Enigma is always great fun. They play my favorite dance music. The dance floor has enough room for everyone. The bartenders are the best. There is a patio outside that is great for people watching. They have a $5.75 banana cream martini that will knock your socks off. From noon until 9 drinks are 2 for 1. They also have a large parking lot so no driving all over Central looking for a spot.

The 10pm drag/comedy show on friday was wonderful. great vibes, witty/super sharp comedy coupled with a respectful environment.a gem.

Great night life hot spot downtown. Drag shows on Saturday are very entertaining. Drinks are of downtown pricing, but perfect for groups that wanna have a great evening out.

The Friday shows are a little lackluster -2 shows and 3 girls. In my opinion the girls had the opportunity to work the whole bar but didn’t. They did ask if anyone was celebrating anything, which made it kind of fun.

A bit expensive after Happy Hour($13 with tip for 2 bottles of beer) but, the Drag show was awesome

I find this to be a rather STUFFY AND STUCK UP VENUE. And thats THE CLIENTELE AND THE STAFF.I found an Enigma Drink Chip and took it down there to get a drink. I felt like I was intruding. People there were standoffish. No one wanted to talk, all clutched in their little groups, EVERYONE there had their noses buried in their phones. No one talking to anyone. Not even each other. Bartender didnt even really ASK what I wanted. He just walked up, AND LOOKED AT ME. I asked for me drink. It was made, say down in front of me, AGAIN, NO WORDS WERE SPOKEN. I handed him the chip and a dollar as a tip, and sat alone, drinking my cocktail, until it was done, and pressed on home after.I ONLY WENT cause I found the chip. I dont spend my money here. IM NOT GOING TO, when treated that poorly!!YALL CAN KEEP IT, AND ITS STUFFY WAYS.NOT A FRIENDLY PLACE!!

This might be a weird review but the bathroom smelled really nice and clean. Also, the bartender Kerissa was super friendly and welcoming.

Local gay bar, reasonable drink prices during happy hour which ends at 9 PM, small dance floor, a few mediocre drag shows, the big draws are outdoor seating curbside and the location is fantastic since there are many shops and restaurants nearby, parking can be a challenge, simply park on 1st Avenue N or 1st Avenue S around the 1100 block and walk a block to Central.

Sexy bartenders and decent drinks. But they charge you for top shelf when you only get wells or basic drinks. Other than that, great place and atmosphere.

This place is neat i love the bar open to the outside. And the bar in the back is nice having a separate area. I need to go on a Friday or Saturday night I hear it is great!

Great club, had a show the night we went. Very crowded and had to wait. Bartender could have been a little friendlier but it was also really busy. Would go again.

I have nothing, but good things to say about Enigma. The staff makes you feel like family and the owner truly cares about his patrons. Most recently, I requested an alcohol alternative for sober and non-drinker crowds and he ordered CBD kombucha the next week to offer in tap. Im always blown away by how much this place cares about its community.

Love this place drinks are great people are so friendly great music. Only thing I would say is I wish the would get ride of the steal straws and only have disposable ones

Enigma is our go-to place! You can sit outside at the high top tables or at the bar extension, inside for a game of darts or pool, catch a drag show or pageant or dance the night away. Very friendly bartenders and is a very versatile layout for hanging out and having fun.

Omg I really enjoyed the atmosphere it was a vibe. Nate was serving delicious drinks not to mention he was easy on the eyes.

Its the place where everyone is family and where you meet all your friends although they need more outdoor tables and chairs, but its the place to be anytime at anytime.

Terrible experience. We had a large group of friends go last night and wont go back. The bartender was terrible, refused to give me the tokens during 2 for 1 and then ignored me. And the drink was disgusting. I didnt even finish it.

Their drink specials are good and very well made. The staff was friendly. There wasnt food served but they didnt mind bringing outside food to eat.

Our favorite local bar. Great staff, and always busy. My favorite part is the No smoking inside, and they have a good size covered outdoor space.

It would have been five stars, but the bartender didnt throw out these old ass men who took 20 minutes to order a beer. Let your bartenders get rid of the problem customers so they can serve the rest of us who know how to act appropriately in a timely manner. I was looking for a vodka tonic, not to hear guys who really should have been home in time to watch Matlock give the bartender grief because your beer selection contains Yeungling. Russell was very sweet though, even after dealing with two guys Im really hoping youll permaban.I added the fifth star because I felt bad that Russell had to deal with that lunatic who wrote that last review. As always, he was nothing but professional and courteous, even while dealing with a madman who was cackling with glee as he outdid himself with his latest Google review.

Enigma is a very trendy gay bar in the Central Ave. district of St. Pete. They have alot of space including a good dance floor, blacklight pool, and relaxed friendly atmosphere. Theres usually a good crowd here, and they even have a cool bar window outside.
