Of course this is immediately after getting done so it’s tender and a little swollen but absolutely loved the way Courtney explained the presses and how / what chakras would alone with what piercings I got. I got my Conch piercing done by Mitch and he did an amazing job! The environment is comfortable, clean and overall very professional. The piercing process was very quick and relatively painless and my piercer did a wonderful job making sure that I was comfortable the entire way through. They have a beautiful selection of jewelry to choose from and sterilize the piercing while you’re in the room which was very comforting. Overall, this is an amazing shop and I definitely recommend it for anyone wishing to be pierced. I will definitely be returning for any other piercings.

There is an incentive to write a review as they will give you a $15 discount to go towards downsizing your bar when you come back in. However, they never mention the type of review to give and I was also going to write one regardless, because I had a good experience.I got a helix many years ago as a gift from a friend at Claires (I know). It took a long time to stop consistently hurting, but tbh the pain never fully stopped. 4 years later I got a massive bubble with a lot of infection. I removed the piercing and it closed within 12 hours which leads me to believe it never fully healed.The experience at Abyss with Mitch was night and day where I got the helix redone April 1, 2024. Not only were their sanitation practices different, the jewelry was far superior and more conducive to healing properly/actually functional to sleep on, information about the process itself was better, aftercare was provided (which is basically the opposite of anything Claires tells you), and they just know what theyre talking about. Pain/swelling for this piercing only lasted about a week and its been almost 2 months now since I got it done with no issues.I would highly recommend to anyone looking for piercings!

I got a double snake bite piercing from Paige and she was amazing! I won’t be having anyone else do my piercings anymore besides Abyss:). They are extremely thorough and take their time to make sure you are happy and pleased with the results. They have such an inviting and beautiful shop. No one will ever be disappointed if they come here.

Absolutely FANTASTIC experience. I got my industrial pierced by Courtney and she was amazing. She was kind, knowledgeable, funny, and very good at what she does. It was a really cool experience to learn about how piercings can interact with our chakras. She is also really big on piercings that fit YOUR ears. I didn’t know this, but not everyone is a candidate for all piercings. I went to a different piercer prior to finding Abyss, and they pierced what I asked for, but it doesn’t fit in my ear at all. Courtney was able to style the piercing specifically to my anatomy, and I couldn’t be happier. I will definitely be coming here for all my future piercing needs. Thank you!

I went to Abyss to have my thirds done on each of my lobes, and I could not have been more pleased with the experience. It had been a very long time since I had done my first ear piercings, and it was my first time in a piercing studio vs a mall (yikes). Mitchell was my piercer, and he was so calm, cool, and collected. He explained everything to me while making sure I was comfortable, and he was very meticulous about the placement of each piercing, which I very much appreciated. I would recommend Abyss to anyone without any hesitation!

Mitch did a really nice job with my septum piercing. I haven’t been pierced in 10+ years and he made me very comfortable. The whole process took no more than 5 minutes and it was pain free. I was most nervous about the part where the needle is replaced with the jewelry as I thought it would hurt but I didn’t even feel it. Thanks for doing such a great job! Im so happy with my experience at Abyss. I got 3 lobe piercings and one helix piercing done by Mitchell. My previous piercings were done more than 15 years ago, so I wasnt sure what to expect but I was very impressed with their policies regarding things like sanitation and jewelry material. I was super comfortable and most importantly, my piercings have healed very well because they were pierced very well. They also gave me a little card about how the piercings correspond to different energies/chakras and that was a really special touch!If youre thinking about getting a piercing, absolutely check out this place. You wont be disappointed!

I had a wonderful experience here. I went to Abyss for my first ever piercings.The process of picking jewelry and signing papers was smooth and pressure free. The staff gave great input on what jewelry I should use for the best healing outcome and were very helpful with the selection.The piercings themselves were clean and fast, and the prep beforehand was very professional. My piercer did a great job communicating and answering all of my questions.Two weeks out and the healing is going great. I did have one issue with some swelling (just a normal body response, nothing that was done wrong) and I came back here and they changed out the piercing with one a bit larger to prevent any pressure issues. That process was also very smooth and very clean.Overall I would recommend Abyss for your piercings.

I had an amazing experience with Paige! Got 4 lobe piercings and it was a breeze. She really took her time in measuring and making sure things looked even and good! She was sweet and awesome to talk to and I definitely will be back here for more :)

I loved coming here! I got my navel pierced, and I was a bit nervous for it, but Paige did a fantastic job! Walked me through the process, checked at least five times to make sure the placement was right, and was very friendly! Good clean environment here, the staff was simply delightful! I got both a nostril piercing (about 6 years ago) and a helix (about 3 months ago) and each experience has been great. The staff is friendly and uses sterile procedures. The follow up care instructions are clear. They also have a great selection of jewelry!

I loved my piercing experience! I was really nervous because I havent pierced my ears in years, but Paige was so calm and nice about it. She walked me through every step and was very meticulous about placement, and the piercing was quick and wasnt painful at all. 10/10 would recommend!

I have been trying to make it to this piercing shop for quite a while now, my sister-in-law and I went for our Christmas piercings together, and absolutely loved our experience. Paige is sooooo amazing!! I had a negative experience with getting my septum done 2 years ago at another shop and haven’t gotten any piercings since. I was scared to get it redone but paige made me feel so so comfortable!! Was also very informative with any questions I had. So sweet so nice so cute, I love this shop and my new piercing! Also the person at the front desk was super nice as well and was patient with me being indecisive about jewelry I wanted, will be returning for future piercings :) yay !

Best place to get a piercing. Maya was so bubbly and helps set your mind at ease while you check in. I was pierced by Courtney and it was an amazing experience. She’s very empathetic, knowledgeable, and explains the process as she goes. I got my nipples pierced and she made sure to involve me as much as she possibly could in the decision making and comfort options. They sanitize their jewelry and make the entire session as comfortable as possible. This is the place to go if you are nervous about getting pierced! 11/10, I would absolutely return. 🖤

I had my eyebrow pierced at abyss about 3 months ago & Im really happy that I did. Before doing so I was worried how the healing would go, but its all healed up nicely. My piercer was really thorough explaining each step they took & giving great instructions for aftercare.

The front desk lady was really nice, but the communication between her and the piercer was not good. I was told I couldnt get new jewelry for my nose piercing because it was so new, but that they could change out the bar to a shorter one. I also chose some new jewelry for my Medusa. She asked if I felt comfortable changing them out myself. I let her know that I had no problem switching out the jewelry in my lip, but I was not willing to change out my nose piercing since it was so new. When I went to the back, the piercer changed out my nose piercing, and when I looked in the mirror, I realized he put my new lip jewelry in my nose (which looked so crazy because it is not sold as nose jewelry for a reason lol). I tried to force myself to tell him it was wrong, but I couldnt do it. I ended up going home and brutalizing my nose. My boyfriend ended up going back to inform them of what happened and getting me a new bar since I dropped one down the sink. When he got back, none of the bars fit the original nose jewelry I had in. So now, I have my old lip jewelry in my nose and my new jewelry in my lip.At the end of the day, mistakes happen. But im also really surprised that they charged my boyfriend for the new bar that costs like $10 after they were told what happened. Little things and gestures make a big difference in situations like this.Ive tried out this place before, and to be honest, there are better priced and more professional studios in the area.Both people working were really nice, its just not the studio for me.

Paige was SOOO sweet and did an amazing job. I’m pretty scared of needles and she made me comfortable and took a lot of time making sure my placement was exactly what I wanted. Her attention to detail is impressive.

Went to abyss to have my medusa redone after it was done incorrectly at a different shop, and oh my goodness! This was THE BEST piercing experience I have ever had. Highly HIGHLY reccomend abyss for anyone looking to get a piercing done properly. I will be coming back for all my future piercings!

They helped me reinsert jewelry into a half closed navel piercing quickly and made me feel so comfortable. I think the piercer’s name was Mitch? Amazing service!

They are on the pricey side from what Im use to, but like anything else, you get what you pay for. Theyre products are quality & their employees know what they are doing.This place has a nice aura to it & all of the staff are friendly. I went to Courtney my first time, who is amazing & has a lovely spirit and Mitchell the second time, who is just as amazing. I also love that they give you these cards that tells your Chakra, stones & oils that goes along with the type of piercing youre getting. Ive been there twice now to get different piercings & this is the only place I will continue to go to.

I had my tongue pierced about a week ago. The helpful staff and piercer Paige. Made this experience wonderful I cant express how much it meant to me and help me to ease the piercing process. If you ever need a piercing done I would highly recommend going to these guys. They are friendly helpful and most of all well understanding of what the needs for a first-time tongue piercing is. I will definitely be coming back here for any more other piercings that I need.

By far the best & most relaxing piercing experience I have ever had! Paige was very helpful and patient in regards to all of my questions and as I picked out jewelry. They were also very gentle and quick with my piercing (nostril)! Would totally recommend coming here especially if its for your first. Coming back again for my next one!

Not only were they willing to answer my many questions ahead of my appointment but they also walked me through the process of getting my piercing and the aftercare while I was there. I got my double helix done in September, by Mitch, and I dont think I could ask for better healing so far. He did a fantastic job and I am loving it.

This place took amazing care of me! The atmosphere helped me feel calm and safe. I got a left Daith piercing and even during the healing period I saw a dramatic drop in the number of migraines I got. They were great at helping me through a couple of times I worried my ears were getting infected and they always were kind and helpful.Would absolutely recommend to anyone considering acupuncture piercings!

Ive been here twice. Got an industrial with Courtney and did a triple helix with Matt. Both piercers are BEYOND professional and do everything they can to make you comfortable during your piercing. Recently had a Daith piercing completed by Mitchell and a few years back I had a 3rd lobe peirceing here as well. I decided to go back to this shop because they were very straightforward with their cleaning and sanitizing methods and I am happy to report that they still are. The staff (piercers and front desk) on both occasions were informative, friendly, and respectful. They have both cheap and high end options for jewelry onsite. The actual piercing was fairly quick with no issues. I plan on going back to this location for a few more piercings in the future.

I came to Abyss about two weeks ago to get my septum pierced. Mitchell was absolutely amazing! He was conversational, polite, and very informative. The process was quick, smooth, and painless (well, as painless as getting pierced could be). I forget the girl at the front desks name but she was great as well! She showed me the jewelry options in my budget and matched me with the perfect piece to complement my features! The shop itself is clean and very cute. A nice surprise was at the end they pair you with information on how your piercing can also help or enhance certain areas in a spiritual way which was something unique that definitely helped set them apart too! I was super impressed with the environment they bring when you get a service done. They were very patient with me while I was deciding what to do as far as type piercing and type of metal to choose. They answered all my question and educated me so much on the process and how things work and what the piercing can do for you. I would recommend them in a heartbeat. This place is not like your typical piercing shop. I also loved how sanitary they were with everything and how you get shown the supplies are sterile that they use for your service. So glad I chose them to do my second piercing ✨

I got my nipples pierced today from Abyss. They were so nice and helpful. The piercing went smoothly and honestly less painful than I was expecting but I think that’s due to the piercer. He was so nice and friendly and walked me though everything that was gonna happen. It went very quick and smoothly. The receptionist were also very nice and helpful in getting my jewelry picked out and getting me checked out. I did have to reschedule my appointment like twice and they were flexible and have no issues with that process. I will definitely be coming back here for any further piercings. Absolutely love these guys 🧡( also just wanna add, I LOVE the vibe of the place 100/10 for the aesthetics and vibes alone) 🧡

I absolutely love this place. Originally I wanted to come to Abyss but they were fully booked. The next day I tried another walk-in place but to no avail since they were so packed and the waiting time was 2.5 hours. I called Abyss to tried my luck again and they had an appointment right at that time for me. The atmosphere was completely comfortable and calm, no rush at all and Paige walked me through everything from the sterilizing process, how would she put the jewelry in, how would I feel for the first pinch and the actual piercing. They will also explain about the chakra point for the piercing. After this I don’t think I will ever do walk-in studios again just because of the experience they give you while paying almost the same amount of money, no waiting in a room of full people putting your name down a list, no rush and especially super professional (not saying that other places are not professional). I had my conch pierced this time and thinking about getting a helix piercing. I would definitely love to come back to Abyss, only need to remember to call in, set an appointment and I’m all good on my way.

Went in for my first piercing ever at 27. Got my ears pierced. My biggest concern going into this was that they wouldn’t measure or something would just be off. Courtney is who worked with me and man she is awesome! I don’t plan on getting another but if I ever did I think Id come back to her. She quickly took any concerns or fears I had away and it went great. It’s obvious she’s been doing it for years. Thank you!

The Mrs. and kiddo got piercings here and were very pleased! They took the time to line up lobe piercings and calculated for appearance with face structure. Way better than getting a piercing gun randomly shot at you. The Daith piercing was done very nicely and the piercings were done in a clean sterilized environment. Completely recommend even with the higher prices. Maybe I will go in for a brow piercing.

I went to Abyss on Valentines Day to get my conch piercing re-pierced. I was looking for a place that had white gold jewelry and the best reviews. I hit the jackpot!Abyss is so clean and professional. They have extensive jewelry selections and the experience to give solid recommendations.Mitch was my piercer and he made me feel safe and knowledgeable. Their after-care instructions are simple and easy to understand. My ear feels so good and it has only been 2 weeks!I will definitely be going back here again.

I had Paige do a nose piercing for me in 2021 and forgot to leave a review, but I was back there today for a jewelry swap. Abyss is a great studio - the employees are friendly and helpful, and Paige is gentle, sweet, and makes you feel super comfortable. I recently made an appointment for a PA. Being such an intimate piercing and not knowing what to expect I was a little anxious. My piercer was Matt. He made me feel super comfortable and at ease right from the start. He was a complete professor, the process wasnt rushed and I felt like I received almost vip treatment with the level of care and attention. Matt earned a loyal customer. Other great things about Abyss, I love that its appointment only, its conveniently downtown for those of us who walk or bike and it stands among the other top tier piercing studios in SLC.

I had my septum pierced by Paige D. And she was absolutely AMAZING! From start to finish, Paige made sure I knew everything she was doing and explained the process of the piercing. We got my 12 year old daughters ear lobes pierced by Paige and she did a wonderful job. She took time to explain everything she was going to do and then again right as she was about to do it. My daughter was feeling very really nervous and this helped so much. She gave her a few minutes in between each piercing to catch her breath. Paige was so kind, Thank you so much!

Only place I would take a loved one to get a piercing. Quality and extensive allergy safe metal earrings with the best backing ever. Wish all earnings were manufactured this way. Clean with private space for piercing. Ive taken my autistic son and my teenage daughter. They are calm and explain whats happening. Low stress quality piercings.

This is a beautiful piercing shop. The vibe and aesthetic was really awesome! I brought my 16 yr old daughter in to get her industrial pierced and it was a great experience. She has 2 holes in her lobes but this was her first cartilage piercing. Mitch was her piercer and was very informative and helped her feel at ease. Everything was sterile and very professional. Its been a few weeks and its healing great! She says she doesnt want anyone other than Mitch to pierce her. The front desk gal was very helpful and kind. We will be back!

Got my septum done here two years ago, almost exactly two years ago! It healed so easy. At the time things were just coming out of pandemic restrictions, I remember me and my friend (who was also being pierced) were taken to booths by each of our individual piercers. This piercing hurt, but in a great way! It made my eyes involuntarily water a ton. But it was a really quick process, despite him changing the size of the piercing twice, it wasn’t too uncomfortable. I didn’t mind that he took the extra time to try sizing me down. I brought a Pinterest picture for inspiration, and he really wanted to help me achieve that specific look. I appreciated it a lot and I am in love with the way my piercing looks even years later, I’ve never swapped out the ring because i adore the delicate size and the color! The man who pierced me also explained everything he was doing as he did it, which I always appreciate. That kind of communication puts me at ease! All around a professional and chill experience, and I adore the results. Worth the cost!

Professional and clean piercing services. My daughter has had several piercings done with Abyss, and each piercer has been kind and made her feel comfortable. All piercings have healed well and without issue. Great space and jewelry choices as well.Would love if all team members had the same requirements regarding providing identification and birth certificate at every appointment and making the deposit while on the phone—just helps us be prepared and know what to expect before we call :)

Mitchell was amazing, and would go back to him in a heartbeat. They were amazing in explaining the process, and the two ladies at the front desk were outstanding. I only wish that it was easier to have them help replace a ball on a piercing that they switched out for me. I understand they are practicing a safe environment and scheduling appointments, but it just sucks because my schedule is crazy, and having to wait for four and a half hours to have them fix the ball is a little weird. Oh well still would come back for Mitchell and the ladies at the front.

I hadn’t had a piercing done in over 10 years. The girls that worked up front were so knowledgeable and helpful for helping me find the jewelry that fit my needs. Mitch did the piercing. Didn’t realize I had to call to schedule an appointment and also I was just thinking about piercing my septum and looking for information so I stopped by the studio after work. The woman behind the desk answered all of my questions and was super helpful about showing me some beautiful non standard jewelry options. Walking in right away I knew I was going to be taken care of. Everyone in the studio was so kind and helpful. I got my nose pierced with Matt and he was amazing. it was my first professional piercing so walked me through the entire process, asked if I had any questions and answered any I had without making me feel silly for asking. he was very patient with my questions after the piercing was done as well which I absolutely appreciated.I also loved the jewelery the shop has available to choose from. Everything is incredibly high quality and is a pretty big variety.The piercing room was very sterile and calming. I really like this studio and the only reason I’m giving it four stars is because I had a really hard time getting a hold of them when I needed to reschedule an apt. They finally reached out to me though finally after I called them a few times throughout the week. I guess their phone system is not the best so they had a hard time seeing my messages. But the studio itself is great and they were really helpful with my piercing after care when I had some complications. Also the jewelry in the studio is stunning. So the only reason I’m giving them four stars is because of their phone system but hopefully they fix that problem cause it’s a great studio.

I used to have a go-to place for piercings and came here to Abyss because the other place wasnt communicating well. This will be my new place. Ill go here for any work I want done and refer anyone that asks. They are awesome.

I had a helix piercing appointment at abyss just over two months ago and it was the best piercing experience ive had. the atmosphere of the place was very welcoming and friendly, and so was the staff. they were very supportive and informative, both before and after my piercing. there was a great selection of jewelry, i was able to easily find something that i loved.mitchell actually did my piercing and he was great in keeping me comfortable and talking me through every step that he did. my piercing has healed nicely and its almost time to get it refitted.they also have great customer service, my appointment was originally on a different day and i was unable to make it. abyss was so helpful in rescheduling.i will definitely come to abyss for any future piercings.

I have gotten a few piercings done by Abyss and I absolutely love them. The Abyss staff is very professional and kind! They are really good at keeping everything very clean! They make sure that your piercings are exactly how you want them before you leave. They also have so many beautiful jewelry choices.

I got a septum piercing from Paige here in December and it was amazing! The environment is very calming and peaceful. Paige walked me through all the steps, which made me feel very comfortable. I do have a deviated septum so they did warn me it could look a little uneven, Paige gave me tips on how to move the piercing. It has adjusted perfectly and I love it! Amazing space + amazing people, I totally recommend!

My husband just got his first piercing here. The staff were very friendly, but the wait time was unacceptable. We scheduled weeks in advance for 12pm today. We were the first to schedule for today and the first to arrive at Abyss. Nevertheless, another went ahead of us, and we were there until 1pm. This was a frustrating experience for both of us.

I took my 9 year old to get her first piercing, and get my daith as well. Mitchell was our piercer. He was AWESOME! Was very patient with my daughter as she was nervous and scared. He made sure to explain what was going to happen as he did them and made sure she was comfortable. He answered all of our questions. He even gave me some care tips for a nose piercing I had gotten done at another place. I would definitely go here again with any future piercings.

Abyss is by far the best piercing shop I’ve been to!! I love their service so so much. I’ve gotten my seconds, thirds, a double helix, tragus, and my rook done here and all of them have been such good experiences. Courtney is fantastic and made my 5 year old feel very comfortable with her ear piercing. We let her ears close up after they were pierced unevenly at Claire’s a year prior. Courtney did a wonderful job and took her time. My daughter had a lot of nerves having to get it done a second time and Courtney helped her feel comfortable. My daughter was all smiles when it was done and proud of herself! I also got my nose pierced at the same appointment and enjoyed hearing about the Chakra relations to the nose. I’m not a huge review person, but i figured i’d post one after reading through some of the one star reviews that were ridiculous. i’ve been here for all 3 of my facial piercings and i never plan on getting a piercing anywhere else!! i have my nostril, eyebrow, and most recently my tongue. everyone i’ve talked to has been super kind. i get super bad anxiety before getting my piercings and they’ve let me bring my friends and have them in the back with me to hold my hand. they do them quick making them as painless and getting a hole put through your body can be. all jewelry i’ve bought has been high quality and worth the pricing. i struggle with piercings and anywhere else i’ve gone (mostly for my ears) they’ve ended up infected. i think i am sensitive to a lot of metals but i’ve never had a issue with what this shop uses. their prices are on the higher end up it does reflect their work. everything is very clean, jewelry is high quality, staff is kind, and the piercings are very well done. ive also bought their cleaning solution which works very well. when my nostril piercing got pulled out by my dog (very sad and painful) i came in and they helped me put it back in for free so it didn’t close. i would 100% recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a piercing. i love the abyss staff and am confident you will too!!

My experience at Abyss was amazing and I will definitely be going back. They are by appointment only, and at the time of booking there is a $10 deposit. When I booked I was not sure what piercing I wanted. On the day of my appointment I decided to get the philtrum (Medusa) piercing. They keep the front door locked as they do not allow walk-ins which is honestly so nice because I felt like the experience was tailored to me. My piercer was Matt and he was so nice and informative. He asked me what style and metal of jewelry I liked and even helped me decide on a piece of jewelry that I felt comfortable with. During the piercing process, Matt talked me through everything. He didnt do anything without telling me exactly what he was going to be doing. Im not going to lie, it hurt lol. But Matts execution was flawless. It was over and done with before I could even finish my exhale. He gave me very clear instructions answered all of my dumb questions. I like that I was able to pick out my jewelry beforehand. The shop was very comfy and I love the earthy vibes. I picked a more expensive piece of jewelry only because it is gold but they definitely have more affordable options!! I cant wait to go back for another piercing!

Abyss piercing is phenomenal! I had my nose pierced there by Paige and she listened to my thoughts and personal concerns. Every question was answered and all my worries put to rest because of how personal she was with me. I lived a block away when Abyss opened, I was pregnant at the time and always recommended them to friends even though I wasnt looking for a new piecing then. In a lovely serendipity event my son, 8 years later, wanted his ears pierced for his birthday and I knew just the place to go. I first wanted to show him the experience, and Ive always wanted my industrial done so we scheduled an appointment and went. We scheduled with Matt (I recall that being his name but its been a few months, the one that is only there on Fridays) and he was so amazing. He talked my son through everything he was doing while I was pierced. After we left, my son absolutely knew he needed his ears done. So another appointment was scheduled with the same piercer and again, he was so amazing. We were even late because I forgot the birth certificate, but they still saw us and were so caring and kind. He talked my son through everything again, and waited while he called his dad for some courage after the first one. The care these people have is outstanding.Recently my son hurt one ear somehow and his ear decided to swallow his earring. I told his dad to take him to Abyss, and have them remove it. Mitchell was the one who removed it and my sons dad said he was so great! We kept the earring and stud, and my son is impatiently waiting for his ear to heal up so he can get it done again.If I could give 100 star review I would. I always have, and always will continue to recommend this piercing studio to anyone I know that wants something done. Thank you guys for being so amazing, kind, caring and CLEAN! Literally the most clean studio Ive ever seen.

I took my daughter in to get her ears pierced for her 11th birthday, and was really pleasantly surprised at our experience. The guys in the shop were very kind, and spoke to my daughter directly, instead of to me, even before the actual piercing time. (What were you thinking of getting, which ones do you like.) Super kind gents, they made small talk with her which put her at ease a lot. Her piercing was done by Mitch, and he was an absolute gem. Super kind, made her feel really comfortable, let her take a second to relax before the 2nd ear piercing, etc. I cant recommend these guys enough. As her mom, I was so nervous about the whole thing, but they made us feel comfortable and relaxed. 10/10, thanks guys! :)

I had the best experience here! I got a helix and daith piercing a few weeks ago and they have healed up very nicely. Their facility is super clean and they sterilize the jewelry right in front of you and even include a sterile indicator strip. They have an incredible selection of jewelry and everything is allergy safe. They are also super helpful and can answer any questions you have. I will definitely be coming back here for more piercings.

My 15 year old daughter has wanted a helix piercing since she was 12. I figured now she is old enough... and we decided to do a mama-daughter bonding trip and both get our helix done. Abyss was fantastic- calm, thorough, professional help in the entire process from picking out jewelry to aftercare. The studio is clean, spacious and welcoming. I stopped by from a recommendation of a coworker. The recommendation was for the daith piercing. This was the best place to get it done. Everything was done well. The place was clean, and the staff was awesome to work with. They all seemed to enjoy their work. I would highly recommend getting your piercings here as well.

Got my navel piercing here. Took their time explaining the cleaning process before they pierced my navel and aftercare. Any questions or comments were answered. The store is appointment only and during that appointment you can bring a +1. You call so they can open the door for you. Electronic paperwork signed and make sure to bring ID. I went to pick my gem for my piercing. And got a saline mist. Everything in total was about $110-120. Service was nice and personal. Dont forget to bring cash to tip your piercer! They had a nice selection of jewelry! Would come back for any piercing needs and recommend to anyone else!

This place was great! I got an industrial piercing about 3-4 months ago. It was performed by Matt S. and it was easy. He made sure I understood everything he was doing and made me feel comfortable. Fantastic experience. The atmosphere is very much a classy modern witch vibe. As soon as we walked in we were bathed in the scent of sweet, warm oils and industrial lighting. The service was really the best part of the experience. They helped us choose a beautiful set, and were very up-front about the pricing. Careful attention was paid to the area on the ear lobes to be pierced, and making sure they were even. That same careful attention was paid to the sanitation of the work as well. Our provider was skilled, and the results were perfect.

Ive gotten multiple piercings done, the ones that have stayed and been healthy have all been done through Abyss. I’ve had my nostril done for 4 years and had zero issues, my eyebrow I had them redo cuz the original place I went messed it up, I’ve now had it for 6 months with no issues at All. I went today to get my septum redone cuz the place I originally got it done was poor and it was perfectly done. Courtney was quick and friendly, she pierced in the perfect spot and used good jewelry. On top of all that I was cheaper than the other places I’ve been to! I will only be coming here and recommending to all my friends and family!

I have found my new favorite piercing shop! I had wanted to get my septum pierced for a while and wanted to find a shop other than Koi because Ive ve had a few bad experiences with them and have read reviews with similar complaints. You feel judged in there.I found Abyss online and liked the reviews, website and the piercing pricing was great, so I called to make an appointment.They gave me a heads up on the initial costs, which is very helpful - for customers and Im sure them! I havent had that from all shops Ive used. Jewelry is always additional and can be very expensive, depending on the quality. They made sure I knew exactly what Id be paying before I was pierced.Mitchell Reilly did my piercing and did an amazing job. He was kind, patient, informative, and professional throughout the process. He explained everything that was going to happen, how much it would all cost and happily answered all questions I had.I tend to talk a lot when Im nervous and talk faster than usual, and I assume it can be annoying. If he was annoyed with me at all, I would have never known it. Its nice to go into a piercing shop and not feel judged or intimidated.When he did the piercing, all I felt was a quick pain, like a nose hair being plucked. Very similar to my experience with my nostril piercing.I had an unusual experience with the healing of my septum. The only pain I experienced after the initial piercing, was a slight soreness the next morning; sort of like when your nose is raw from using a lot of tissues. After that, there was ZERO pain. No swelling, no crusties, no pain. The jewelry moved freely without sticking or pain. I still followed cleaning instructions, just in case. I read a similar story from another person, but this person changed their jewelry out a week after piercing and it ended up taking 6 months to heal. While I know healing varies from person to person, I do know that it wouldnt have healed as easily if I didnt go to someone who knows what theyre doing. I had that bite me in my younger years.They have a great selection of jewelry as well! I didnt get a chance to look at it all, but I already have a few pieces on my wish list! I will absolutely be coming to Abyss for all future piercing and body jewelry. And I will send anyone I know their way.

I have always gone to Iris in the past but a friend recommended I go here and I’m SO glad I took her advice! The atmosphere in the shop is so calm and relaxing. If there’s a wait they give you a free drink voucher for a coffee shop a couple shops down. I didn’t feel any pressure to buy a certain piece of jewelry and everyone was SO friendly and sweet. Courtney did my piercing and she was lovely! She’s an absolute sweetheart and had a very calming presence. You could tell she really cared about the placement of my piercing and how comfortable I was. I’ve never had a better experience anywhere else! Also it’s owned by a woman so huge plus there. Had a wonderful experience. Mitchell did 2 forward facing nostril piercings for me and he was so careful about the placement. He took the time to make sure they were as symmetrical as possible. Even took the time to explain his process of piercing so I knew what to expect and I absolutely love how they turned out. Everyone I talked to was so nice and made me feel welcome I will definitely be returning for more piercings!

I came to this shop to get my navel pierced. Ive had it done before but never like this! I was lucky enough to have courtney the owner perform my piercing. She was so gentle and fun to talk to. She made the piercing an experience! I left feeling spiritually elevated and excited about my beautiful new body jewelry. She listened patiently to all my concerns and worked hard to make sure the placement looked perfect on my body. She also threw in some education on the placement in relation to my Chakra. I got my septum done here and it was such a good experience. The whole atmosphere is very welcoming and friendly, my partner who came with me and I were blown away. Matt and co were knowledgeable and did a great job of walking through the process so there were zero surprises. 11/10, coming back for my next piercings while i’m in SLC area.

I love how patient Courtney was in helping us with our jewelry selection. We did not feel rushed or pressured. There was a great selection of jewelry to choose from in every price range. I appreciated that Courtney went over the pricing of everything prior to being pierced. There were no surprises when we checked out. Recently had 3 piercings done at Abyss (2 ears + septum) and cannot rave enough about the entire process start to finish. Because you need to book an appointment, you feel the full attention and care of the staff without the busyness of others rushing around you.The selection and range of jewelry is insanely gorgeous and unique. As well as the knowledge of the staff to guide you in the direction of what will be ideal for you (Thank you Emmie & Kay!). Of course, getting a piercing can bring up some nerves and anxiousness - the space itself is filled with great energy, crystals, snacks and water if you so desire to indulge. Reiki is also available in the space, which gives it its own sort of magic (Thx Maya!)Mitch, the artist, clearly and calmly explained the experience before going ahead with the service to ensure that I was ready for the piercing. This is hands down one of the best piercing studios I have ever been to. I love how the assign chakra meaning to where you got a piercing. I’ve received 4 piercings in the last year and a half and have thoroughly enjoyed each piercer. Abyss also has an excellent selection of high quality beautiful jewelry.

I came here to do a forward helix ear piercing and absolutely loved the experience. So much so that I am going back a week later for another piercing! I have been to Abyss twice over the past 6 months with my co-workers, and we have really enjoyed our time. It is clean, have a good range of jewelry, but most of all I love the environment of this place! The design, plants, and people make it calm and comforting. I have seen two piercers, and they both were kind and professional, explaining the process and aftercare, as well as being patient as my entire team picked out different jewelry and placement.

Ive had two piercings done here and it was an amazing experience both times. I got pierced by Mitchell both times who is absolutely amazing :) he took his time, made sure I loved the placement, every thing was sterile and he is super cool. I would absolutely recommend this place and especially Mitchell. This place also has some supe cute jewelry here too! :)

Amazing service the ladies that helped me were patient and kind they went through many options by putting it up to my ear showing me different ideas they likes and I liked. They also had plenty of options of all sorts all of the pieces were beautiful and unique. Once we picked a jewelry that I absolutely loved we went in and the piercer was kind she walked me through everything she was very sanitary she marked my ear and was patient and helped me find where I liked it the most at. Everyone was kind and the building was beautiful the layout was nice and gave a good feeling. Definitely will go back and get more piercings from them.

They are amazing. Friendly and courteous. I got a helix piercing and was incredibly nervous but Courtney did an amazing job keeping me calm and taking her time with no rushing me. The prices are completely affordable too. I will definitely be going back!!

Absolutely love this place. I first came here a couple of years ago to replace my philtrum jewelry. Courtney was SO helpful, educating, and friendly - I knew I would be coming back. Fast forward to today where Mitchell pierced my septum and it was such a lovely experience. I felt comfortable immediately - something that can be rare to find. I will recommend this place over and over to everyone!

100% worth the time and investment to get your ears done here. When it comes to holes in your body, you really dont want to mess around trying to cut corners or save a buck or two. These guys are a little pricey, but worth it. I got my lobes and a helix done here. Mitch not only let me come in for a free consultation beforehand, but he took an incredible amount of time making sure that the piercings were done in the perfect placement at the perfect angle. Im a laboratory technician with training in sterilization and aseptic technique, and they did everything PERFECTLY. Ive gotten other ear piercings done at other shops, and these healed the fastest by far. They are appointment-only right now and are really careful about COVID precautions, but you can usually schedule an appointment within the next few days (if not the day-of.) If youre in the area, go to Abyss!

STORY TIME: I originally went in and was disappointed because I wasn’t able to get my piercings done right away ( I was waiting for a while because two girls in front of me got four done each). I ended up having to leave before it was my turn to get back to work. Courtney was the only one there and she was handling it like a champ because people kept coming in. I decided to return after work because of the good vibe and aesthetic of her shop. I am SO glad that I did. They went above and beyond to make sure I had a great experience. I even got a card reading done while I waited. Seriously this shop is amazing. They are all so nice and so personable, I definitely recommend them. Courtney did my two cartilage piercing quickly and virtually painlessly. If you want to support an awesome local business with amazing employees, you have to go to Abyss. Thanks for everything!

Mitchell did a fantastic job piercing my daughters ears. He spent a lot of time making sure they were even and talking her through the process. My daughter loved the jewelry options and chose an adorable star and moon pair for her first set. Such a positive experience! Never take your child to a mall piercing store, this is 100% the way to go.

I got my navel pierced by Mitch today and it was a great experience, i barely felt it to be honest. They had a great variety of crystals for jewelry (i chose the green jade) Both the people there were great and made me feel very comfortable. 10/10 I will absolutely come back :)

Page did my helix piercing and she was really through with the whole process, what I would feel and answered all my questions! I was a little nervous, but Paige walked me through everything before she did it- making the whole process transparent and comfortable. She was so sweet/ patient through my entire jewelry selection (I’m fairly indecisive, and it took a fair amount of time.) Courtney, the owner, was also present during my visit and was sweet and personable, as always. Abyss is beautiful and extremely sanitary. They enforce a strict face mask policy, which I very much appreciated.

I walked in and luckily they had time for my nose piercing in between appointments! There were so many gold jewelry options that I kept going back to look at the display and ultimately changed my mind. Paige and Courtney didnt push me to any one stud and they didnt rush me. Courtney did my piercing and she was so reassuring and genuinely kind, it eased my nerves so much! Im so glad I decided to go for it and that I chose Abyss. It was a wonderful and no pressure experience. The piercing itself was more pressure than pain and it was so fast. Paige and I had a few minutes to chat and I told her I was new in town...she gave me recommendations on what to do in the area. I definitely recommend them :)

The atmosphere is very relaxing and calm, perfect when youre about to get a freaking needle through your body. It smells so good and there is overall good vibes! Dont wanna get pierced anywhere else. I had such an amazing experience at Abyss Body Piercing! I went in for second earlobe piercings (my first ever piercing as an adult) and was nervous about the pain and how it would look, but Mitch and Courtney made me feel super comfortable from start to finish. I made an appointment before going to guarantee a spot at the time I wanted to go in. I got a double nostril done by Mitchell. He was very nice and knew how to engage in conversation so I felt like I didn’t have time to get nervous. I absolutely love abyss! I have gotten multiple piercings done here my Medusa, double nostril, and my naval. Believe it or not I am terrified of needles. But love the way these piercings look and have always wanted them. The piercers here are amazing and make you feel comfortable and know how to pierce you with causing you the least amount of pain possible. I highly recommend abyss. And will continue going to them for all other piercings I want done.

After a very unpleasant experience at a different shop I wound up stopping into Abyss. Matt did my Daith piercing and was AMAZING and made me feel right at home and completely trusting in him. Ever since my first piercing at Abyss I would never consider going anywhere else, and I have been to all the main places in Salt Lake for other piercings Ive had done before I had heard about this place. I have a few reasons why. First, they are as professional as you could possibly imagine, yet each experience is incredibly personal. It is apparent they genuinely care about not only what piercing you are getting, but also why you are getting it. Second, at every other place Ive been I have felt somewhat rushed, and afraid to ask questions. But Abyss welcomes questions, and their answers are extremely thorough. Because of this I feel more confident with caring for my piercing as it heals, and have never had any problems. Third, Abyss is different because their environment is soothing, all the employees are extremely kind and supportive, and (this is big for me) I feel comfortable being in a vulnerable state in their company. If you are looking to get a piercing in Salt Lake City, I implore you to take your business to Abyss, you will not be disappointed. I am so thankful to them. :)
