This place felt like such a hidden gem. Little did we know lolWalking up it’s hard to tell what this place is. Windows tinted and etc. upon walking in, it gives you a dive bar feel. Music selection is amazing and they play music videos along with it. Wonderful environment! There are multiple levels to this establishment. All with completely different vibes! Ask your bartender when they all open and how to access them. The drinks….they could be stronger. Especially for the price. That’s our one draw back. But, it’s Miami lol plan ahead!
Attention everyone: We need to address a serious issue regarding security at this establishment. Its clear that there may be internal involvement in the thefts occurring here, particularly with items like cell phones. On average, 17 items are reported stolen per month—a significantly higher number compared to other nightclubs in the area, which average about 5 thefts in the same period. This is unacceptable. When youre out enjoying your time with friends and family, you shouldnt have to worry about your belongings being stolen. Its time to reconsider supporting this venue with your hard-earned money and valuable items. Each stolen item not only costs you financially but also compromises your enjoyment and peace of mind.If youve experienced theft here, I urge you to share your story in a review, detailing how it happened and what actions management took—or failed to take—in response. Remember to always keep your phones and belongings secure.Lets work together to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone. Thank you.
We were attempting to go here, me and my friend had shorts on and shirt and had a coupl drinks before coming. The people at door accused us of looking like we been drinking. Yet, when other men came in stumbling, they let them in with no problem and, while I hate playing race card, they were white. This place should not operate when they make guest feel small. This lgbtq place also, so yay for being positive and rightful to all. Neither of us were drunk and just felt small by the people at the door.Let’s close this place, and open something more positive for the community. I had just gone to the Palace where they were the friendlier, go there not here. Stay away from here and protest to close this place and fire the door men !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This bar was more than amazing. I had all of my expectations fulfilled. I went in and was instantly welcomed by Phoebe. She greeted me with a cordial smile. Her drinks were more than spectacular. When I spilled my drink and tripped, she courageously leaped over the counter and caught me in her arms. It was at that moment that she discovered the terminal ulcer that had been hiding insidiously in my stomach. Within moments she had a scalpel in hand, anesthetized me with a generous and elegantly poured shot of bourbon, and it was over before I knew it. The armed robber who chose that particular instant to enter the establishment turned heel and fled at a single glance from the pheromonal Phoebe. The remainder of the night passed in a blissful kaleidoscope sounds and tastes. I awoke safely in my bed, and over the course of the day discovered my student loans had been paid off, my house saved from foreclosure, my mother’s cancer go fund me filled to bursting, and a new car in the driveway. Thank you Phoebe for your heroism, and incandescent support. Please visit #twist.
Always a great time at Twist, ignore all the made up bad reviews. This place is a fantastic venue with friendly bar tenders and great drinks. Go! Support the few remaining clubs like this in Miami.
Charlie was our Happy Hour bartender and he was very friendly! Great 2-4-1 Happy Hour! Also great music! The complex is huge and has multiple bars that all open after 10:30pm
Yall need to bring a physical ID!!! And secure your Phones and wallets… yall get too messy and leave your phones/wallet unattended and you guys let two dudes sandwich you, feel all upon your business and get your phone/wallet stolen, its YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO TAKE CARE OF YOUR BELONGINGS!!! Stop blaming others for getting “white girl wasted” the end….
Miamis longest opened gay pick up bar that sometimes has good music and sometimes doesnt. Best days are Friday and Saturday, the rest of the week kinda empty. If youre looking for a trendy hip club with great music, this isnt for you, but if youre looking to get laid, voila!
Jaime is super moody and disrespectful. picks and chooses who he wants to give discounted drinks to. He would give you any drinks for one small price but make sure you tip him good if not he would flip on you! Might as well charge original price. Super unprofessional. And he’s always intoxicated and drinks throughout his entire shifts idk what type of business these people are running
Came from out of town for my friends 22nd birthday. The bouncer on Thursday night 6/14 was disrespectful, unfriendly, and denied my friend saying her id was “fake”. Our group was very upset because we were excited to visit this bar, and when we asked the bouncer if there was anyone else that would come look at her id he said no. He obviously does not know how to correctly check an id because hers was not fake. Super disappointed.
Very disheartening when they put you out for being a diabetic and getting sick in their establishments! Manager on duty who wouldn’t give me a name stating they are a private establishment and stating that he see that I’m not intoxicated asked me to leave for a sickness in which I can’t control!! I really think if you can’t allow someone with a sickness to come into your establishment this is not a cause to remove someone from your establishment. I’m very upset to know that such an establishment can do such a thing to someone that is out of his or her will power! I have been coming to this establishment for quite some time and really would like to understand why treat someone in such a way!! I pray that things change here for people with an illness. Very concerning and disturbing to yet my community and people with the same illness as myself.
I keep on hearing about this short guy that worked in the outside bar but I never see him! They said that he played the best music and made sure all the guests felt the same and welcomed!!If you let him leave bring him back because people talk about him a lot! Bars need people like that. I’ve walked into your venue and security is cold, I’ve seen them rip up paper identification (temporary papers when new one is being processed) and other issues. The bartenders that I’ve seen only care about money in the wallets and don’t pay attention to the people that want drinks or even to ask a simple question.I would come back if things would change in the future but I’ll take my money and friends to Nathan’s down the street or even Palace (which is more pricier but better staff)
I want to take this moment to say that the attendant Charles is wonderful, Ive never seen a guy like him, friendly, kind and lively, he cheered up the whole crowd. My first time here at this bar, but Ive never seen a bartender be so friendly and affectionate with everyone. He is lively, he changed the songs or put on several sound playlists here, in short, he played with everyone, super irresponsible all the time, I saw that he was paying attention to everyone, being alone here, he put water in everyones glass here, he served everyone the world of drinks that needed drinks. Anyway, he is very friendly and very loving. I liked this guy so much that I wanted to marry him because its really worth it Im going back to the club because he alone made this club the best in Miami for me
First time in Miami Beach on a Saturday night, I started here but it was not very fun and I went to check other places around. Once I came back, I was not allowed to reenter anymore !Nobody warmed me about that before, I found it rude. :/I dont know anywhere where it is like that. so DO NOT RE-ENTER MULTIPLE TIMES.Anyway it is not as if I loved it, there are many ambiances but most of them arent exciting. Anyway it is not like there was a choice, it was the only place crowed. Finally Miami Beach gay scene is low.
Everyone I come to twist I have the time of my life! And tonight was no different! The bartender made a slight mistake and made me 2 drinks when I asked for one. Once he realized the error he gave me cash back, apologized, and let me keep the 2nd drink. I tried to tell him it was ok and an honest mistake and to keep the money but he insisted and was so gracious! The music is amazing, the bartenders are cute and honest! I will keep coming back!
The manager here- the person checking IDs at front was extremely rude. They denied my partner entry because they had bubbles on their ID and when we were asked to show proof of an old ID we did with screenshot- which they asked for, it was apparently not legible when it was very clear. You’re telling me you’re gonna accept a phone screen shot but not an actual state ID?? They argued with us when I had one simple question and in return they said “don’t be a karen at least wait till you’re older” when I asked to speak to a manager because the person checking IDs was being extremely difficult and rude. Don’t go here. This ID is and was completely valid and has worked literally every other place including airports and many bars, if they care that much about some little bubbles they need to get an ID scanner or something.
Imagine that, we were kicked out of a gay bar with homophobic slurs by security employed by the business. The security proceeded to follow and verbally acost my husband and I, taunting us to report them to the police station across the street. After all, we fled to our home. Find a place where you feel safe, it’s not here.
Cute place with nice music and different vibes from one bar to another. For the pop bar, it would been nice to add more variety to the playlist two nights in a row to avoid repeating songs. Lovely personnel and bartenders.
Tonight my husband was attacked by a security guard of this club, my husband fell on the pavement and the security guard kicked him and injured him. We are waiting to meet with a lawyer and will sue this security guard. The supervisor not only did not provide assistance, but even stood up for the security guard who attacked my husband. This is an outrageous homophobic act.
5 out of 10 on the “danger” scale. ultimately it’s miami so expect the basics that come along with that. I was thrown out through a trap door after reflexively slapping a guy in the face in reaction to him grabbing my balls. but still that’s not such a wild event in a gay bar, and believe i went back the next night and made peace with the security guard that booted me. it’s a fun place, wouldn’t discourage anyone from checking it out. just don’t expect a business class greeting from any bouncer in any bouncer, or some koom by yah sing along once you’re inside
Spacious club , a lot rooms with different music . A little outdated but they do their best to keep the place decent . Staff is mostly friendly, bar prices apparently do vary. I paid 10 dollars for a bottle at a a bar then 5 dollars in a different one
I came down a 2 weeks ago to check out Twist out. I think it was a Tuesday night and the bar was pretty slow. I ended up in the back bar with Bartender Jason. He told me that with the weather and the season not being the busy that sometimes nights become like that and just stick around longer because it will get busier. I stayed around like he mentioned and the bar got busier. Only room to be busy was his and the crowd loved his energy and music. Will come back to visit Twist again to see if during the busy time of year! Hopefully get to see Jason the same way!
Best club to dance, chat, have a drink and meet interesting people in Sobe. Several indoor environments with loud music and outdoors where you can smoke and chat.
My phone, together with two others we met the same night, was stolen from this place. A third had her wallet stolen.Heard from others after that this is exactly what happens in this place.
Our bartender, and older gentleman on the first floor, was very nice in constantly refilling our sodas. The place is convenient because there are several different rooms with different music types. However, some rooms can get extremely crowded on weekends. Some patrons can be catty and judgmental.
This is the most unwelcoming place that i have ever been to what is supposed to feel like a safe space was no where near that. Charlie the bartender was disgustingly rude with a terrible attitude. This place made me not want to check out any other LGBTQIA+ “Friendly” places in the area. Never ever will be back to this place
We used to go to this club but it’s all gone. And some Nico making by far the worst margarita ever without strength seems to rule some of the show. Disturbing has replaced easygoing.
Okay so I went in with Ontario health insurance card and the bouncer took 15-20 examining my card for age and legitimacy and allowed me in without a picture of passport. Your experience may vary.Reading all the reviews I have my wallet and phone in one pocket and had my hand in there whenever I passed a tight crowd. My phone and wallet did not get stollen.I would definitely suggest you do this too.The drinks are too expensive, 9 dollar corona and 14 dollar rum and coke. Nathan’s had cheaper drinks but it was also dead by 1am.There wasn’t a cover on Friday. Please be cautious because i feel like the crowds that don’t move out of the way are the ones stealing all the phones and I hope that the staff did more to open up walking paths.
Disgusting service. Barely got in the door and the bouncers portrayed racist and sexist behaviour, telling me to go back to where I came from after talking to someone the other side of the barrier accusing me of trying to sneak an underage persons in. We were on opposite sides of the barrier. This is when the racist slurs started. The conversation started with myself trying to explain we were on separate sides and all the bouncer could produce was youre not listening to me... she didnt say anything other than that to listen to..After this altercation, another of our party came to see us, with 2 drinks in their hand, after 2 seconds stood outside the bouncer promptly took the 2 $30 drinks our of her hand and threw them on the floor stating no drinks were allowed outside. The only notification given was a small sign inside of a darkened hallway.Disgusting hospitality all round and absolutely no manners.
Great atmosphere, place with a lot of different rooms to choose from, the drinks were ok had vodka, soda and lime .
Well, they told us that we were drunk going in there. We haven’t had a drink the entire night. I think it’s because we weren’t based on the race they were looking for you. We went to this place before and tonight denied us because we weredrunk or looking drunk, so don’t go in here unless you good because you white and drunk you good
I went there for the first time with my friend because we heard gay club are fun. It was all fun until I ordered a mojito, one of thre bartender that was wearing just an thong, he said he does not have tequila but he can make it with vodka, I told him I am not sure thats a good idea, he says a lot ppls like it and that I should give it a try. I tried it, that tasted horrible like bleach. When I tried to give it back he said , no, I have to pay for it. He made me pay for it. I was having a good time until that happen.
Ive been on this place around one time a year and each time is worst. Last time it seemed packed with all type of druggies, and desperate last minute f a g stags trying fishing for whatever picks them up for the night not to mention I had to check my wallet every 5 min. The place smells like a handled worn dollar bill. Bathrooms are nasty all the time. The go go dance section is packed with decrepit old linch drunk men and annoying f a g h a gs locals acting as tourists creeping on dancers. Latin section is always empty and boring. No one stand there but the rejected ones. Second floor is more sinister. There is a little improvised dance floor with videos that seem cool and its the favorite of those annoying drunk drama queens that they think still are in their 90s. The other place to your right, the dance floor which is a bit bigger, turns into a free-for-all cheap zoo motel on dim lights. Its scary. The music is ok not gonna lie but there is a point where the voltage of the place turns sordid, and psychedelic. The halls turns into a catwalk all night for desperate guys trying to hook up whatever they couldnt in other places. Its clearly to notice at certain hour this turns into anything but a a gay place anymore but a den packed with all type of people from the street that have access to this place with obscure intentions God knows for what. Drink prices are a bit pricey. There is never a parking lot available around so you always have to park around miles away from this place. After reading the reviews I never had had any bad experience with bouncers fortunately, but I did see one of them violently bouncing a guy one night in front of me. That was not cool. Another night I was asked for my ID INSIDE the location with a guy with a wig showing me his badge, and it seemed so funny to me. He was too obvious that he was an undercover. All in all is a place that makes impossible to meet anyone for several reasons but the most important is that make sure to put the music that loud so you dont socialize with anyone, but consume drinks.
Visited Miami with some friends and we came here and it was lovely and very clean
It’s incredibly bad and boring , twist has so much potential but it’s just always the same music , the same stuff , and they always play the same Shakira and JLo Super Bowl half time show
If you want to be treated horribly, this is the place to go to. Last night the white security woman with short hair refused to let me in because she said my ID was fake. I have been there many times before and can assure you my ID is real and I am of age. When i asked to see the manager she refused to let me see him and acted very hostile and rude pushing me away and telling me I need to leave. I read other reviews now stating this has happened before to other people with the same security lady and that she even questioned their sexuality. I am a gay woman but even if I was straight the bar is not exclusive to just gays! We could have verified my ID was real but she refused to let me speak to a manager. I waited outside to speak to the manager and they accused me of harassment and then banned me. Which is fine i would never want to come back there anyway ! There’s so many good clubs in Miami don’t even waste your time. The entire staff is rude and entitled.
A safe place to call home. The best staff. They’re all doing their best to keep the number one gay sanctuary alive here. 5 stars. ⭐️ thank you for 9 years. ❤️Aaron was absolutely amazing on Christmas Day. He worked so hard and made everyone happy. Thank you Aaron. Amazing. 🤩
Fun fun fun. So many rooms you can get lost. Every room has different music. Every room has a bartender. Came here for my birthday from Cali and had a great time! If you are looking for that awesome gay bar with something for everyone, this is the place!
I had to write a review to validate what others have experienced. Although this bar is AWESOME and I have been coming here for years, something seems to have shifted with security.I am a solo black male traveler and I was basically followed around by security, mean-mugged, bumped into and made to feel uncomfortable. I work in casinos so I am very familiar with how security teams operate but this crew definitely lacks subtlety. Mind you, I was wearing VERY expensive jewelry so if anyone needed protection it was ME, lol!I am still giving them three stars because I truly feel this is one of the best gay bars in the country. Chill on the aggression toward paying customers though. If you would like to refund me for the drinks I paid for please respond with an email address. Thank you.
It’s like a maze, many different rooms with a different style and music, but STINKS it’s gross. I couldn’t be there longer than 1 hours after walking around.
One of the few bar I really enjoyed in the last years. I went there during the week and there was still a decent amount of people. So many rooms with different style of music. Yeah the drinks are a bit expensive, bit theres no cover charge. The thing I really enjoy less was the smoking everywhere. That should only be allowed outside the club.
7 different rooms each with different music and vibe, and either a bar or dance floor. Very nice staff and toilets near every bar. The outside bar was sometimes the busiest. Very good priced drinks. Welcoming gay bar, would visit again.
The security guard at Twist humiliated and disrespected us. The security guard spent 5 minutes looking at every page of my passport and then proceeded to ask me if I traveled much? His questions resembled to that of a border security agent. This attitude is discriminatory in nature. If you dont want women in the bar you should not promote it place as an LGBT bar welcomed to all. The security guard then proceeded to question my female friends passport for an obscene amount of time. This was a humiliating experience to both me and my friend. And on top of that, the security guard frisk searched us and touched our bodies. This is unacceptable and disrespectful.
Hire better staff that doesn’t look at you disgustingly just to say, “I’m closed, why would you even come to this bar?”. 😂 Girl please, you are so right. I should not and will not. 🖕🏼✌🏼
The club is so fun and the drinks music is great however my concern is with the white female security with short hair. She has accused me and female friends of having fake ids, being under age, even as to question our sexuality. She came off so rude the sec she saw us. Luckily my friends and I called for another security and the manager and we all confirmed with online site that our ID were real, we are over 21 and yes we are lgbt. Horrible woman
Whatever happened to the shorter guy that worked the hut bar out back? His energy lit up the room, music was perfect and always entertained the patrons! Bring him back! The person who was working the other night when I was in had cold energy and kept yelling at guests for no reason.
It was our first time in Miami and we were looking for a night out, since we heard that Miami can be so much for when it comes to the night life. Walking in the atmosphere was so live, the music was blasting everywhere, and the bartender was ready to serve us. We wanted to start off with a quick little margarita, it wasnt too strong nor was it watered down like most clubs usually do nowadays; it was okay for the price that it was. We did love how they had multiple dance floors with each one having its own taste. DO BE WARNED THAT THE SPACING IS LIMITED, IT CAN GET VERY PACKED, especially on the first floor where they have the Latin music going. Overall it was fun and we would definitely be coming back.
Ernesto, the owner, refused entry to my gay friend because he was “too gay”. Very homophopic environment.
Had such a great time on Friday that we went back the next night! Definitely crowded after midnight and can be snug quarters so definitely suggest keeping a close eye on your personal belongings. Line moved quickly and there is no cover. Not the place to get super cheap drinks, but treat staff nice and they’ll be kind/friendly and take care of you with speedy service. Bathroom attendant and security presence in multiple areas helpful to keep things in order and moving in the tight facilities. Great to have options for different music- our faves ended up being the Latin and edm. Bartender was also a big favorite- super nice and always remembered our order of a sex on the beach for my friend a tequila shot for me. At the end of the night we even asked if he was working again Saturday since we had such a great time we were already planning to go back the next day. When we spotted him the following night he remembered our orders still and greeted us with a smile and handshake. Ended up having to leave early that night but would definitely come back in the future! Maybe even a third night in a row if my friend can hack it
Overall a decent place however, the bouncer or security guard or whoever the men are that work there are incredibly rude and unwelcoming.
Disgusting place, one of the bartenders literally stole my card in front of all of my friends and he denied it on mu face. Do not come to this place
Very unfunny and experimental. First, they did not wanted to offer the service they do offer. Then since it was there of us decided that we would have to be excluded. So they wouldn’t have to get us 3 the drinks. The place is very cold . End of story DO NOT RECOMMEND IT ATT ALL- you have lots of possibilities in FL so why this .
This is THE place to be if you are in Miami!!! I had SO much fun, i kept going for nights! Thursdays were the most fun, but i didn’t get to see how it is on Friday or Saturday. The staff was great (the guys at the door, the cleaning staff and the bartenders, except for the muscled queen at the latin room that couldn’t care less about his job… 🙄) you have so many options of music and the people there are very chilled! The prices are a bit high, but where aren’t they in Miami?! Take me back there asap!
Hi, I am not a person who write many reviews but I feel that it deserves the occasion. Thanks to all the security team because you always take care of us, but what the hell is going on with your group of bartenders? It is not the first time that one of their clients has been treated badly, guys we are clients and we deserve to be treated as such, Anthony you cannot disrespect like this simply because you want to treat other girls better. Twist is a great place with an amazing security team, but the bartending team except the Bartender Guy who always dances upstairs (sorry I dont remember his name) are killing the vibe of that place. This was our last time at twist, please correct your bartenders.
Very bad customer service and I don’t say that a lot. I respect everyone work ethic but this place is out of line. You can’t go to the bathroom for more then 3 minutes without getting arrases by the staff to step out even if your not finish. You can’t get an explanation and if you dare to ask , you get thrown out. Avoid this place!! Nathan’s is way better!
BE CAREFUL! Went here during a bachelorette party and took extra care to stay vigilant of my phone and wallet, but it didn’t help. My phone is fine, but my wallet was stolen. Staff didn’t do anything to help, in fact some suspect they may be in on it. The establishment didn’t even answer their phone when I wanted to check in before reporting my ID and cards stolen. I saw another party walking out complaining that their phone/wallets have been taken that night too. There’s a risk of this everywhere, however the lack of care and security from Twist is unacceptable.
This establishment picks whoever they want to let in for absolute no reason. My friend and I (visiting from NJ) came out of the place for a few minutes, went back, and the security guard (female white woman) did not let my friend in because they thought their ID was fake. My friend showed 3 different types of ID (in addition to a picture of their passport) and ended up not letting them in because of their “attitude”. A complete, utter joke. She should not be working there because of her hostile and disgusting attitude.Update: Came back to the establishment the next day, was retaliated against, and was not let in by the same security guard and the manager because of this specific review.
Looking for a fun night out in Miami Beach? Look no further than Twist, the go-to gay bar for locals and tourists alike. This vibrant spot is the perfect place to meet new people, let loose, and get a taste of the Theatron scene in Miami. With its lively atmosphere and colorful decor, Twist is sure to put a smile on your face. And the friendly staff will make you feel right at home, whether youre a seasoned regular or a first-time visitor. So come on in, grab a drink, and dance the night away to the beat of the music. You never know who you might meet at Twist - maybe your next vacation fling, or even a new friend for life.
My trip to club twist was less than desirable, and I will tell you why. The short haired female bouncer borderline refused to let me into the club, after presenting arguably, two of the most valid forms of identification, a passport card, and my out of state drivers license. Despite utilizing all of the methods of identification validation to include black light, holding up the the light, and interrogation of my personal information, she was STILL going to refuse my entry into the club. If it wasn’t for my fiancé having possessed a picture of my physical passport, she would not have let me into the club because my drivers license and passport card had two different photos on it (as if they were supposed to be or could realistically be the exact same photo). The hassle that I was put through left a bad taste in my mouth the entire night at the club. This is exactly why I will not go back to this club and I wouldn’t recommend it to anybody else. My recommendation the owner would be to provide more adequate training to their staff, in particular the bouncers if you are trying to maintain a positive image. Your bouncers are the FIRST people that customers interact with. And this interaction? This interaction is one that places bad connotations with your place of business.
If you want to feel like you dont fit into Miamis pseudo gay society, dont hesitate to visit this place. full of everything from specimens, divas, scorts who think they are worthy, those who love to show off marks, substance abusers, etc. all welcome. I really dont understand the community at all if everyone is like that, put me aside. Go to Wilton manors 👍
My first night in Miami i headed straight to Twist. Regardless of what people say, I had a really nice time here. Good music, fun crowd and the drinks are really strong, so drink slowly! The same night I must have dropped my wallet (I think) that had my ID and credit cards inside. To my surprise, a security guard came up to me and asked me Are you Mr. XXX? . When I told him yes, he proceeded to return my wallet to me and everything was there. There were no unauthorized charges, so Im happy about that. However, I spoke to other patrons who told my that their phones were stolen the night before. Be careful as there are people in the club who go around, talk to you, dance with you, and put their hands all over you pretending they are interested in you. Before you know it, they grab your phone from your pocket and disappear. So if you do plan on coming here keep an eye open. Be safe and vigilant you are guaranteed a fun time. I went a few times after and everything was good.
This is hands down the BEST GAY BAR/CLUB in MIAMI!!!!! It’s like 5 different rooms! Each unique and different, you can literally pick a vibe! From Latin to Pop! Also Hot Guys, Hot Girls, Hot Trans! Everyone is welcoming and kind! I always feel safe and free! It’s literally a party every day! No cover! Open till 5 AM every single day!!!!! Literally no other place like it! They have really updated the bar! You have to check this place out!!!!! It’s iconic!
Place was fun, but what is up with the bouncer (white female with short hair)? I wasn’t gonna write anything, but then I saw other reviews about her. Came here from Boston for my 21st (birthday was a few days ago) with a valid vertical license that says “Not over 18 before XYZ” and “Not over 21 before XYZ”. I didn’t bring my wallet because of Apple Pay and because I saw reviews of stuff getting stolen. Bouncer said my ID was fake because it didn’t look the same as the picture in the book (you can see it was identical to the one posted by the state government), and I needed a second form of ID. Respectfully, who would choose an out of state vertical fake license with big fat letters declaring I was under 21 until 2 days ago? Was really excited to come here, so I got pretty upset and started crying while I had to call my brother at 12 AM for my birth certificate. A new bouncer eventually came and let me in, and after that it was fun. Other security was nice. Establishment is very cute. Long Island iced tea is strong. Overall, 5/5 21st birthday experience but 1/5 for the female bouncer who apparently has hot dog meat for brains.
Originally I was apprehensive about going considering other reviews. I went keeping very observant and noticed the girl checking ID’s and she was very professional although I recommend an ultraviolet forensics ID light for like $20 to check ID’s instead of wrenching and twisting on someone’s drivers license. Also the bartenders were alert for fast service and I found them friendly as I went to at least 4 different bars. Lastly we actually found someone’s phone and turned it in to staff members there, so this past Saturday was enjoyable there. Would go again.
Stopped in during a vacation trip and ended up staying for hours at karaoke. Jason hosted and bartended the event. He was energetic, fun, and made the whole room feel like old friends. Highly recommend.
Refused us entrance because our friends ID orientation was not sideways. She was 23 and because her ID was Vertical, they said no
Ifirst time in my liferhey throw me out without reasonsaying we take drugs..I never took drugs in my life..club was empty..just wanna be powerful poor security guys..Will spend my money in places I am welcome …oh my godsuch a bad experience
Went for my Bach party. Was really excited to get in but they wouldn’t let my 6’2 amazon goddess of a friend in cause she wasn’t in heels. Dress code is closed toe shoes and heels for women, but let men in wearing tennis shoes… we were all dressed up in our theme but there was no leniency. My friend is already taller than any guy in there anyways and they still said she needed to wear heels
The early bartenders were so fun that we kept coming back out whole trip. We never stayed for the later crowd or atmosphere, but the early happy hour time is so much fun! Carlton and Charlie are super fun bartenders and the people are all nice! Best part of our trip to Miami by far!
The security and bouncers let people in without ID but wouldnt let me in because I had a leftovers in a box that I didnt want to discard. I saw 2 people tell the bouncers/security that they didnt have their IDs, but they were let in anyways.Hope they were not underage because this place doesnt care how old you are to enter.
Im a local and I wouldn’t trade this place for anything, Lexi at the door is very nice, she’s just doing her job and well at that. Drinks are always good and fun atmosphere. Open til 5 am with no cover catch me here!
I really enjoyed this spot. Multiple rooms with different music and vibes
You can tell these positive reviews are from the owner and employees as they’re so in depth in detail describing the bar like an advertisement… Lamest gay bar I’ve ever been to. Security is a joke and super rude!
Twist is a very nice disco bar. It has multiple rooms with different types of music and that means you dont get bored anytime. You can go room by room during your visit and stay where you best find the atmosphere or style that you like the most.In some rooms there is only music, in others there is Drags Show, in others there are stripers, so you can find all the options in one place that maybe you are looking for a night of fun.It is located in a privileged place in Miami Beach. There are many spaces for public parking on the street in that area but it is always better to go by Uber so that you avoid parking hassles and you do not have to limit yourself because then you have to drive. There are bars in each of the rooms and varied shows. Numerous celebrities have attended Twist and one of the most recent was Adele. This is a place you shouldnt miss when you visit Miami. If you found this review helpful, please like it and follow me here on Google Maps for more recommendations. Thank you 🙏🏻
This place was okay. Really only a vibe on the weekend. There are so many rooms and areas but surprisingly it’s all the same techno dance music. I’ll be back toward the end of the month hopefully they’ll have like a hip hop room or some updated music. Lacks diversity in that area for sure
I dont know why the bartender Anthony (latin area) is so bad! If hes not gay, hes fine, but hes working at a gay bar... at least be nice! Good looking but zero customer service. My friends and I were just trying to be nice and he had a bad attitude. Every time we visit, he is always attending as displeased because we look at him! This is a gay bar Mr. Muscle! and you must be there for your clients. And the bar is poor in ventilation.
I liked the club very much. BUT i do understand the negative reviews regarding drinks rates.Actually they don’t show you any menu or presenting the rates on the wall or any way.YOU CANNOT KNOW THE COST.Unless you ask and try to hear the answer while the music makes it hard to listen.Excellent music but shame I couldn’t give enough trust in spending my money over there.
Came here from Canada and used my nexus card as ID to get in. After walking in I decided I wanted to go for a smoke quick so I told the guy that just let me in that I was just stepping aside quick. When I went to walk back in he stopped me and said “ID?” as if he didn’t JUST let me in. Also, it was relatively early so there was no line and he clearly remembered me. He looked at my nexus card and said “sorry, you need a photo of your passport.” A PHOTO of my passport? Interesting. He said his manager told him the nexus card wasn’t good enough. I intentionally didn’t bring my phone because of the reviews about people getting their phones stolen - it’s almost like they wanted to make sure I had my phone on me…Also my nexus card is essentially a passport - or better - issued by the US DHS.Ended up going back to my hotel, grabbing my phone with a photo of my passport and just watched my phone like a hawk. It was insanely packed, so much so you could barely move. I preferred palace where I could actually dance - and they accepted my nexus card no problem.
The drinks at the garden are 4 usd less expensive than in the regular bar just to let you know …
Ive been using this club for years. First time visiting I felt harassed by a horrible security guard. It made me feel really bad. Im finding out if he can legally come in while hes urinating and see me naked and touch me. I work for the county and with the school police and there is that what is legal in that I felt super bad so much it made it go
Bouncer lady didn’t let me in after showing my passport as a form of a ID, which any other place would take it, first time this has ever happened. asked me why I didn’t have any stamps, it was a brand new passport of course it would have no stamps
I have nothing but love for this iconic Miami bar. Thank you to the entire organization for allowing us to film at such an important staple in the community.
A “gay” club that is nothing but homophobic and racist? Surprising? In Miami? Probably not. If you’re a bi woman or lesbian, they/them do not support this business. They want your money… but not your business. My spouse and I were harassed out of this place when she nicely tossed a weed vape (not hers) into the trash. Why do gays continue to contribute to this toxicity? We can do better.
The security didn’t let me In because my ID looked fake and was “too thin” what does that even mean? Do not go to this bar unless you have a thick ID
Girl why he tell me my ID didnt meet the UV specifications to get in? Girl what? Like what do I even do about that, ask my state to change the way they manufacture IDs? Whatever girl.
Paulo best bartender music and atmosphere amazing love these place !
This place is not friendly to exclusively pumping mothers. My amazing friend who feeds her child with her body, was turned away for trying to bring her breast pump in. It is 2023 and a mother who chest feeds, should be able to go out without her child and still be able to pump and save her milk. The bouncer asked my friend “where is the baby”. The baby is safely at home and her mother is still wanting to provide for her. I am appalled at the disrespect of the bouncer. After explaining the situation to the manager, the manager invited us all to come in, but at that moment the night was ruined.
BE EXTREMELY CAREFUL WITH YOUR PHONES AND WALLETS - pick pockets everywhereTo the establishment: Requiring a dress code and assuming gender at a GAY bar is completely out of line - you’re sexist for it. Queer women want the same rights as queer men.Water is a basic necessity - don’t charge for it.That being said the variety of dance floors and bars is fantastic
My friend was denied with his Pennsylvania drivers license. Totally unacceptable. The girl at the front said I study these IDS. Well sorry you don’t his ID is way of age. Doesn’t make any sense at all. I heard from other folks this common. The business doesn’t even have scanners to prove that it’s a fake ID.
The barman London was an amazing guy. He made our visit to Miami unforgettable. The bar vibe was awesome.
I feel safe at this club, which is saying a lot. It’s so great to see a woman in security, and she is professional even in the face of angry, drunk jerks who immediately escalate to screaming profanities and slurs when she is simply doing her job. Chill folks.
I was hesitant in coming here after reading so many bad reviews about this place but it was not bad at all. the upside was they had great music and different parts of the bar. Some of the bar tenders where really amazing as well as some of the security. Downside is the drinks are a bit overpriced and they do add a % to the bill for the tip I guess which some are worth it but there were a few that were rude and not helpful. I would go here again they just need to address some of the staff to be more professional.
Terrible stuff, and the manager dont listen nobody. People are very rude and everyone is very high and stupid. They over charge you in your credit car and the drinks is not good ... terrible terrible terrible place. dont waste u time or money there!!!
This place was always booming! With excellent music and drinks but mostly Hot Hot and I mean, CALIENTÍSIMO PEOPLE ALL AROUND! The bartender Jaime was great at listening and he took care of me!!!! Oh, and the music was always booming like I said on 6 dance floors that made it even more fun!!! Luv this place!
Over priced drinks, (served in tiny water cooler plastics cups!) and bar tenders with attitude, who think they are gods gift (reality check youre not). Its a shame as the venue has lots of potential. Lots of different bars and rooms. I would expect better from Miami. Come to London and have an attitude free drink, with friendly, kind people instead :)
Fat nightclub with 7 different rooms playing different kinds of music. There seemed to be something for everyone - whether you want a more chill vibe in a bar with oldies music or a more popping experience with Latin or EDM, you’ll find it. There was a smoking area outside. No cover charge. The line when we arrived at 1am was short and moved quickly. All the emoloyees were nice and efficient, from the bathroom attendants to the bartenders to the bouncers. My group of girls and I really enjoyed this spot, and it didn’t feel as scene-y as some of the other clubs in Miami Beach.
As unfortunate at this sounds and as a Miami resident, I truly didn’t think twice about the rumors of some kind of organization being ran in this club with people stealing phones/wallets. I am beyond upset with what happened to me this past weekend. As we all know this club gets packed and is probably one of the most busiest clubs in Miami. After I bought my first drink at one of the bars in twist then putting my wallet in my Fanny pack and closing it. I walked away and was in a crowd full of people, running and bumping against one another. Next thing you know I get to the bathroom area and realize my entire Fanny back had been opened as if someone truly opened it fully. My wallet had been taken out/stolen from my Fanny pack. When I mentioned it to security they had asked me to write down my name and number and if they found it they would get back to me. The list for that night had over 20 peoples names on it with what they lost and their contact info.. this club is one of my favorites but now this has fully changed. Be cautious and careful going to this club at all times. They need to step up security game and figure out this issue. It’s ridiculous and outrageous.
They refused to let me in cause of my ID they requested me my passport which I showed it to them and claimed it was fake, the same girl with short hair, I’ve seen she has done it with many people, it’s literally ridiculous, hope she gets fired.
The quality of the alcohol they use is not good.Overall party was pretty boring.
Last night the bouncer abruptly grabbed my friend with force because he walked a cross the dance floor to exit right before a drag show started. He realized at that moment that someone had literally snapped his wallet chain from his pants and stole his wallet. Also, if you pay by card they don’t give you an itemized receipt showing the costs and they tell you that tip Isnt included. My card had an extra $73 dollar amount ontop of the charges I signed for for 4 drinks which means that staff made an edit to the tip amounts I gave after I left the bar. I have since disputed with my bank. After finding out about the scams that take place there, we went back another night with nothing on us except a fake cell phone and a credit card hidden in my friends a sock. We literally left our phones and wallets at home and walked to the bar. The fake phone was stolen but then the person stealing it realized it was fake and threw it down. We couldn’t stop laughing. Then, a group of guys were dancing around me and my friend and I could tell they were trying to figure out where on my body I was hiding money or a phone because I didn’t have a purse.Hands down if you go into twist it’s almost guaranteed that you will have something stolen. Go in there with nothing and watch people try to figure out where your hiding your stuff it’s fun to trick them (dancers, workers and bouncer).
I find it terrible that this place does not take care of the integrity of the people who visit this place. Gentlemen, safety comes first and then everything else. My phone has been stolen right there and because of the people in security. Its supposed to be a place to drink and dance. They take you out like a dog or they dont even let you in because youre drunk. Last time I come back and I recommend this place.
My all time favorite club! I love coming here with friends because although its an LGBT+ club (mostly gay guys), the place is chill enough that anyone can feel welcomed here. I was actually introduced to this place by a straight friend!By far the highlight of this establishment is its multiple dance floors. The place looks a bit small from the outside but theres about 5 (if not more) different dance floors with their own type of music and a bar nearby. So you can always get a drink and if you dont like the current music you can move on!Theres also always security making rounds to keep the smallish halls trafficked and theres also multiple bathrooms and smoking areas. Bathroom attendants are all extremely nice and courteous and the drinks are relatively cheap and not bad!Definetly come check the place out but keep in mind this is miami; if you drove here finding parking is gonna be a PAIN.
My friends and I were really excited about this place, only to not get in. Gave us a hard time for legitimate NY IDs with a passport? Not sure how that makes any sense, highly disappointed.
DO NOT GO HERE !!! My first time visiting and there is definitely a very well organized crime happening with stealing phone. Last night I arrived at 1:30 am and was waiting to order a drink. My phone was in my purse closed. At 1:35 PM my phone was gone. I went straight to security and there was another girl complaining that her phone was stolen as well. I asked about looking at the cameras considering that I realized right away with an exact time frame. And I was told that the cameras only face the bartenders for their safety
I went with some friends of mine, we were 5 girls just trying to have a good time. 3 out of 5 of us are bisexual and queer and we felt very unwelcome. There were multiple comments I heard such as “ugh straight girls” and “oh great, straights.” It just felt very bizarre considering we thought it was a place that welcomed everyone. It’s a very cool atmosphere with good music and drink prices and i’m sure my experience won’t be the same for every girl that goes there, but I felt I had to share because I was honestly disappointed.
The lack of empathy for my friend who was spiked in this bar astounded me. Do not recommend.
So I couldnt go in because of slippers. No matter how well dress or how much money you have in your pocket. Guaranteed you I have more class and means to drink and like drinking. Plus the owner seemed to be spanish which is crazy.
I had fun here but when I looked at my account I was extremely disappointed. BEWARE …. The bartenders add tips that were not authorized on your tab it’s disgusting… I truly hope this isn’t a tactic imprinted on the employees from the owner if not these people really need to be fired for that. I had a feeling something like that would happen too considering the white taller guy with glasses serving upstairs harassed my friend to add a tip to his tab. Will never go back or recommend to anyone ever.
Twist is an experience. Lots of fun and variety with the different rooms each with a different DJ.However, in the past 3 months, I personally know of 4 people whose phones were stolen with no assistance from the management to attempt to retrieve the item. Ironically, the Miami Beach police department is right across the street.
This is a labyrinth of gay bars 😍 just when you think you’ve seen it all there’s another room, with different music and more dancing. I went on a Friday and Saturday. I preferred the Friday crowd because it was a mixed bag of people. Saturday was also fun but I felt the crowd was much younger. The only downside is how quickly you can lose your drunk friends.Drinks were attended to fastDancing foreverDiverse crowdFriendly staffOpen late
The requirement to bring your original passport and no other ID if you are foreigner is too restrictive. This type of rule is either made by a hypocrite or by someone who never traveled outside US and had to use a passport.LE: its not strictly enforced and once youre in its pretty fun. However, nobody wants to risk being not allowed in after going there and waiting in line so I think they should clarify the rules and make them more common sense.
Great and fun club with many rooms with different music options. They were amazing when they found my friend’s phone and kept it safely until we were able to get it back. The best!!!
When I first arrived at 2145 on a Thursday, just about every stool at the bar was occupied. There are a couple of tables and plenty of standing room. The bartenders are attentive enough and check-in occasionally without pestering. I learned that the dance floors open at 2300.Great thing about getting there early, I didn’t have to wait in the insane queue. I can see how it could be a turn off, but it’s worth the wait simply for the music and space aspect never mind everything else. The bartender was very friendly and just finished his shift and abruptly said, “I’m going to sit right next to you and finish up my receipts.” Of course I welcomed him. We chatted for a little bit then suddenly there was a raucousness from the door, his crew just stepped in and made eye contact with him. They greeted one another and then he introduced me to everyone saying “this is my new friend and we are going to show him a great time.” Everyone cheered and berated me with salutations and quick fired inquiries. The rest of introductions and getting to know one another was left on the dance floor.Drinks are your typical price and strength that our Queer spaces are known for. There’s even a section downstairs, in-between the main bar and the back, where if you’re just looking to socialize with some folks, that’s the spot for you. Music is still present but you don’t have to scream at one another to be heard.Lighting is like being in a kaleidoscope. Just be careful with all of the distractions, the step up and down in-between some rooms is a doozy, saw some folks trip and lose more than just their drinks and pride. The music is on point, just about every Caribbean hit with a house twist, there was even a live drummer at one point. Let me tell you, he had me beating that floor hard, imagine bachata/merengue/reggaeton with so many other Afro-Caribbean beats, pure magic. I was so lost in it all that I lost my favorite ear cuff, I’m spinning it as an offering to the goddesses that night, they had me in the best of feels.
What started good ended bad.We are from out of town and wanted to go dancing and have fun.So me and my cousins went in before club hours it was around 9ish. We had a few drinks at the back lower bar with the big screen. Bartender was nice had a good attitude and everything. My cousins went out side to smoke a cigarette and only to find out they can’t come back in the club. I asked the manager and he said they could come back in. When I went to the doorman who recently let us in before club hours he said “he don’t remember them and they can’t come back in because there Sandler” . What sense does that make ? We were in the bar all that time with no complaints or anything and they had to make a big deal into a even bigger one. We will not be coming back here and will take our services around the corner to PAlace….. regardless if we’re from out a state or not.
When you think in Miami beach gay night , we used to first , think in Twist. This was a fun place to visit. It has a variety of bars and dance rooms , but , for my opinion , the bungalow was the most visited because of the strippers .now, there’s no strippers anymore , I visited after they decided to get rid of them and the place isn’t the same , is bored and empty . They should think in bring them back , now , it’s not the same .
My friends and I we went on Halloween night and I got one mix drink for 17 dollars is insane. It says it has 4 dance bars it only had 2 open. The little room where the dancers used to be,the bartender took forever. I will be drinking soda only from now and then. The good thing about it is the little patio.
Super fun club! My boyfriend and I always make sure to visit at least once each time we go to the Miami area. Absolutely amazing place with great music and fun people.
My friend has not had a good experience at this establishment. Every time hes been here, someone has been aggressively touchy/feely unprovoked. On one occasion, he complained about it and when he was making a big deal about it (as he should), the bartender was trying to throw him out because hes at at the gay club and hes sexy so he should expect it (paraphrased). What kind of nonsense is that?? There is at least one other review on here that mentions assault and disrespect. Thats such a damned shame for a place where people go to have a good time.
My friend was assaulted tonight by one of the staff for simply stopping for 3 seconds. They threw me out for defending him after they assaulted him..The guy that works there literally pushed him aggressively and then when I approached him for doing that to my friend, he had security physically remove me from the premises. I tried to very kindly address the situation and they dealt with it by physically removing me and discounting my side of the sorry completely. I understand people become belligerent and stupid when intoxicated, but what about the rest of us who go just to dance and have a good time?! Total disrespect. I will not go back.
Danger! If you want your phone stolen go here! I went with a group of boys and over 20 people got their phones stolen! Luckily my phone was tethered to my pants or I would have lost it. Beware of randoms asking for your social media. They’re trying to get a sense of where you store your phone/ get you comfortable with them. It also seems like one of the bouncers is in on it since we saw some suspicious communication and eye contact between him and 2 girls and a guy we think were doing it the other night we came.
Ok, so I went to Twist while on holiday recently. I was reluctant at first because some of the reviews were not great but I decided to give it a go anyway as it seemed like the most interesting of bars to go to. When I arrived around 10 p.m., there was no door man, so I dont have an opinion on the personality of the door person. There are supposedly seven different bars but I only got around to three. The first bar as you enter was where I settled for the evening. It was the most neutral location for my personality which tends to be chill. The bartender Derrick was quite nice, attentive and even the second bar I first checked out with the guys in speedos!? They were on it as well and friendly. The bathroom has an attendant who takes cash tips but I hardly have cash on me these days. I felt a little guilty but I also have a weak bladder and couldnt imagine doling out cash constantly for each trip. I would have loved to have experienced the place a bit more but I was looking for a fling that night and I found it. 😉 Overall a great visit. If the bad reviews concern you, I say give it a try anyway. Sometimes a persons experience is their own based on their personality and sometimes people make things more difficult than need be while blaming everyone else. High expectations can lead to a hard let down! Hate those types! Enjoy!
It is very sad and disappointing to go to a famous place where there is discrimination and racism by the community itself, I was in the bar on the second floor I had my drink in the bar strangely the bartender threw it at me, I told him and he did not apologize and the drink was whole, so I still ordered another one and a beer and he told me rudely pay me now, so I replied Ill pay you but I dont owe you because you spilled the drink, I paid for the drinks and decided not to tip him, so he knew he knew he got angry and took away my drinks having paid, I am not obliged to tip and more if the service is lousy, so I went to talk to the manager. and he defended him and told me that he could no longer enter the club, it seems to me an abuse as a client and a lack of respect that they treat you as a client like this, after they throw my drink away, they take two paid drinks away from me, they do not let me enter and I always treat the staff with respect.
Smelly, dirty, creppy people and the bartender was rude. They charge me 10u$ for an extra small water
BEWARE!! I never thought I would be leaving such a negative review for a nightclub but this was such a horrible experience. When our group was in line we overheard the security guard warn people to keep their phones in the front pocket, we didn’t think anything of it. We went inside and only there for 2hours until we noticed a few of us had our phones missing, I had my Apple Watch taken off my wrist and phone stolen and replaced with just my phone case in my pocket. I have no idea how they do it but these are definitely organized criminals and the club bouncers/security guards are all in on it.The only good thing about this place is the music other than that is too packed, full of criminals, and fraudulent behavior everywhere with overpriced weak drinks.I will never come back to this shady establishment.Wish I would have read reviews before going there I don’t know how a place like this can remain open.
Place is huge. Lots of different type of music, hot bartenders 👌🏼They don’t charge cover which is great and are open until 5am 🎉From the bouncers, the only bad thing is pickpocketing. My recommendation: don’t carry big wallets, check your phone periodically and have fun!
Privately owned and poorly managed. Never have I arrived anywhere and been blatantly insulted by the bouncer. I came to twist (I go very often) with my cousin from Uruguay and the bouncer literally pushed my cousin out of the line and screamed at him saying he will not let him in without a passport. We were taken aback considering we had just arrived and he immediately told me to stop smiling (i was laughing nervously at my cousin) and I asked the man to please relax and not be so rude (this was my cousins welcome to Miami). He immediately began calling me annoying and obnoxious and said he was “ready to ruin my night” honestly no idea what he meant by that and stunned that anyone would say that. I walked away shocked and noticed a man in a suit jacket behind him who I approached and finally explained that international people must have a passport or picture of passport which honestly can also be fake so I don’t get what the issue is. Obviously I understood and I simply said that it would be nice if the bouncer could be a bit more polite. The bouncer noticed me talking to the man and immediately approached us and continued to insult me and tell me to get out of there. I retained my calm demeanor throughout the whole encounter and of course the man in the suit jacket escaped while he could. I said whatever and walked away as the man (bouncer) continued to insult me.Honestly I’ve spent countless nights at twist and paid for the incredibly expensive $18 Red Bull and vodka’s because I always considered this a nice place to be, but never again.I don’t care that we weren’t let it in and I immediately understood why but I am shocked at how someone could be so rude and that management would not only allow it but endorse it.
Nice club. But I have to be careful when you go in . Make sure ur fanny back. Is front of u. And everything you have in your front pockets . Other than that it will get stolen in no time .
We came with eight friends who were all in dresscode and our one friend just had surgery and clearly had a cast on her foot and the bald bouncer refused to let her in because of her physical disability and was extremely rude. We are extremely disappointed and cannot believe that a lgbtq+ bar was discriminatory and ableist towards our friend after several high-end restaurants accommodated to her disability and welcomed our business.
The bar is amazing.I was on Thursday June 17th in the second floor bar. I was enjoying the music and after the Drags show got excited, I wanted to see it and I moved where there was a space but the man who was operating the lights pushed me aggressively without first requesting that I move from there, I think that for that type of activity they should use a barrier to mark the mans work space and prevent him from being rude and aggressive with customers who want to enjoy the Show.I told the man not to push me and he continued to be aggressive, he pushed me a second time and threatened to remove me from the place and put me on a life restriction on my income. such a person should not work with the public.
A very nice place. Interior with features and changing styles. Drinks are not cheap, but the price is consistent with the quality of services. Nice and helpful staff. Purely. When promotions take place here, you can get free drinks and a private room for an hour. To do this, I had to register on 909gay,com to create a profile, and show the administrator. Good place, now I’m constantly there.
Danger!! Stay away!! Pick pocketers run rampant through this place and the bouncers/security staff are coordinating with them. Our crew lost a few phones/wallets one night, and returned to observe. It’s well organized. Be careful - only go in with phones you want to lose!!
The most terrible and rude manager we have ever seen. We will not be returning.
Before COVID they said we need to show a photo of passport.Few months ago they accepted my driving license from my home country. Now, they say they require the passport itself and not a photo of it.Who brings their passport when they go out to dance?Probably a way to filter guests.Rude attitude, very disappointing.
I like this bar very much, but it seems there’s a mafia inside stealing cellphones. Last night two of my friends got their cellphones robbed and even the security at the entrance made us aware of that. The bar doesn’t bother at all to address this constant robbery. It feels like they know and participate on this. Maybe the bar has something to do with it?
I dont like to leave bad reviews because I love gay bars and so love Twist. However, this particular incident has really rubbed me the wrong way. I have a bladder problem. The line was 20 people long and I was gonna piss myself. The people in line understood and didnt care however when I got the bathroom the attendant Mario berated me and told me to get back in line. I whispered to him I had a blatter issue and truly couldnt hold it. He agreed to give me some sympathy but visibly was not happy. As someone as exiting a stall I tried to go in and he literally slammed the door shut and said no. I was confused. I was just trying to pee as soon as possible but whatever. I proceeded to wait an additional 3 minutes until a urinal was available. Idk truly the situation made me uncomfortable. I love Twist for the most part
My friend got their phone stolen there by an organized group consisting of the bouncers and people who pretend to hit on you but really just feel you up to steal your phone. They will even ask to add you on Instagram so they can watch u put your PIN in to unlock. Be weary, if you want to party here, keep your wallets and phones in your front pocket. Otherwise, party elsewhere.
Security guard on phone, doing nothing, sitting and getting paid, asked if I could interrupt him, he rolled his eyes and got extremely rude. Its my first time out in Miami and the staff is extremely unwelcoming. He threatened me after I got irritated. I passed by and he called me trash. Careful. Paying some staff that has no hospitality training. The other stay members (bartenders) were great.
Disgusting service and human manners. We were on the line waiting patiently to get in and give our id’s. And when we finally get to that point he tells my friend she can’t go in because of her flat sandals ( I now see in the comments they have a new policy about open toe shoes). However, what disgusted me was the attitude of this man. First, he kind of pushed us to the side exit (we were not rude). Then, he started screaming that we can’t making fun of us and also ignoring our questions. He could have just explained they have a policy and everything would have been fine. Communication is key, but these people surely don’t know how to use it. They just create hate.
Come on Thursdays for retro night for great music and great service from the bartending staff! We found the drinks to be a bit on the pricey side, but the absence of a cover charge more than made up for that. No trip to SoBe is complete without coming here!
Very strict and dumb no sandles/flipflop dress code. I get not wanting guests to wear flipflops since informal.. but they allowed me to come in with crocs and/or watershoes I had to buy from the shop next door to get in. Nice sandles with a strap are no less dangerous than heels. People can still step on feet and/or could fall. Atmosphere did seem nice.
As soon as me and my girlfriend came in we were harassed by a man and he forced physical contact when we explicitly said to not touch us and the bartender was rude to us for leaving and feeling uncomfortable. Was not welcoming at all.
Came to visit this past weekend, stayed about 20 minutes and left! I think this place lacks diversity in music. While the bar itself is not the problem, the music is. I like that each room has a different vibe and type of music, however, not everyone is Spanish! They should work on incorporating/mixing in music that will appeal to a larger audience; especially on the weekend.
What a fun place! We came here after the Palace and it was a great afters spot for dancing on the top floor or chilling on the first floor. This was the best dancing spot we found on our Miami trip
The club is spacious and was so much fun. Three different venues to cater to different crowds. They had strippers and a great happy hour. If you get a chance, strike up a conversation with the bartender that kinda looks like Tina Burner, he’s hilarious and fun to be around.
For some strange reason drinks on the rocks are different at the many bars. I can order a drink on the rocks downstairs and be satisfied then come upstairs and it’s half the size… being a visitor I think they cater to a “certain” crowd, just based on me watching..
I was here on Friday night (March 18th). Where I ended up being ROOFIED and my phone stolen. I had two drinks and all I remember is using the bathroom to pee and the next minute Im outside the bar with two Puerto Rican men who were trying to figure out my hotel and room number. I knew I was in a bad spot because I kept blacking out and coming to, I was disoriented, couldnt form full thoughts, couldnt see straight, or use my hands. Im 30 years and i have never felt like that off of two tequila sodas. The two suspicious men got me to hotel which was only a block away from the Twist and thankfully the phone they stole had my room key in it, this bought be time because we couldnt access the lobby. As one man left to get my room key from my stolen phone two people staying at the same hotel as me recognized me and somehow I was able to tell them I needed help. They saved my life!It took some time for me to piece together what happened that night. The reason Im giving Twist bad rating is because this apparently is a reoccurring problem there. Another reason is because the door man (older man, gray hair, larger set, sits in a chair checking IDs) saw me being taken away by these two men and he did nothing. I know this because I went back a couple days later to try to see if I could remember more details from that night or see if I recognized those two men and when the door man saw me he said he remembered seeing me that night breathing heavily(in a mocking tone), then continued to check my ID. I was taken back by how quickly he disregarding the whole thing that took place right in front of him.
This bar is not worth your time. They refused entry to me and my group because one of my friends was wearing “flat sandals”, yet a woman with Walmart flip flops came strolling out right after the bouncer told me off. The bouncer claimed she was allowed in because she came during happy hour. Who spends hours at a gay club from happy hour until midnight? I mean I would, but why should flat sandals bar anyone entry from a club? And it wasn’t because of my looks. I may be a Discount Drug Mart gay, but even a fabulous group of Nordstrom gays were denied entry because of frivolous reasons. Twist doesn’t like sophisticated gays. That’s fine. I’ll be happy to spend my money elsewhere. But if this sounds like the place for you, make sure to stop by your local Walmart to pick up some fuzzy foam slippers.
Awesome spot in Sobe, cant wait to be back 🔥
I can also vouch they have organized crime going on there. 3 weeks ago I was there with my friend and someone stole her purse. The security guard had the purse and SOLD it back to her for $20. Wow!!! I wasnt going to write a bad review, its not my style however we tried to reconcile it with the management and theyre not returning her phone calls. So management is allowing this and not resolving the issue!!
They said I couldn’t come in cause I don’t have a passport. What is this? An airport? Immigration? They don’t eaven know how to justify their decisions. I show them my ID from Chile. This club sucks.
STAY AWAY! Keep your phone and wallet always with you.Very sad, I was looking forward to enjoying my time at a LBGBTQ+ in Miami but this was the end of my trip after losing my ID and CC s.
It was one of the worst experience ever, that stuff is horrible they will make fake stories to throw you out of the establishment, the security is not there to protect you they willet you let youbuy drinkas kick you out. Honestly you dont feel save in the environment, definitely have to change something. HORRIBLE
Its a cozy , dark mysterious atmosphere.A cute place to getaway from all the hustle and bustle on the outside streets . Happy hour is the best time to visit and Bartender Charlie has an amazing energy and presence about him.
Good bar but there is some organized crime in this club. They are professionals when it comes to stealing phones. DO NOT BRING YOUR PHONE or keep it in the front pocket. All my friends that had gone to his bar their phone gets stolen. I bet they are making good profit. You can see the people drunk looking for their phones at the end of the night. It’s just sad.
Will send you away or not being of the trans man/ gay male. Then send you away for being a female trying to use to washroom & then lying about it in fronting peers to make u in the wrong :((
Bar is fun. Bartenders refuse to serve tap water to you and demand you pay $3. And are rude af about it. I am not giving 2 stars to a place that thinks water is a luxury item.
Twist is a great club. My favourite in Miami. Such a variety of music and friendly staff! Drinks arent as pricey as Palace.$10 for vodka tonic and in a real glass ($11 in palace and in a small plastic cup)There was no cover charge on the nights we were there!Definitely recommend this place!!
Was on vacation from new jersey, and was denied entry because they thought my drivers license was fake lol. this establishment shouldn’t be so up tight because someone robbed me here last year, so i wouldn’t worry about somebody’s real drivers license. i’d worry about the bums they actually let in. this place is a joke
Love me some Twist! Always hit this spot when Im in town. One of the few places thats open LATE LATE which I like. Many rooms with different atmospheres including outdoor.
Fun vibe but drinks are 100% watered down. The “titos vodka” is actually majority water. Weakest drinks ever.
This is by the my favourite club on Miami Beach. No cover charge, drinks are reasonably priced, great music, friendly bar tenders (especially Derek on the main floor bar, hes our favourite). The only thing that kind of put a damper on my Twist experience is the short bald guy in the ground floor bathroom that gets mad if you dont tip him for handing you a paper towel. Like I can get my own thanks.
Drinks are about $1-$2 cheaper than anywhere else in Miami Beach. The 7 bars were really cool and reminded me of koots in Alaska. Friendly bartenders. Best bar I’ve been to so far
The guards at the door didn’t let us in because we have a bag with us. We were asking to check the bags to show them we have nothing dangerous but they didn’t want to check out our bags and they didn’t let us go in... very rude... I apréciate that you have customers enough to lose money!! And thank you for the lack of hospitality!! I spend my money drinking at palace :) the people who work there are more friendly :) never come back!!
Lately there has been a huge influx in woman in this gay establishment! Gay men please LEAVE YOUR HAGS AT HOME! There has to be a vetting system to make this more “our space” there’s nights that I see a gay guy walking in with 5 women. And it’s all for giggles and Instagram post with taglines like “omg I’m at a gay club” (same thing at haulover nude beach)Also, straight women, please stop bringing your straight boy friend/husband to a gay establishments! We want our little corner! The WHOLE WORLD IS PREDOMINANTLY HETERO- leave our spot alone.Up in NYC, those gays are very territorials with their clubs, I think we should start picking up that habit. It really is agonizing and annoying that you want to go to a gay club to meet other men and you have to navigate 3 of their obnoxious and jealous female friends, because the spend their years trying to pray the gay away in hopes they will sleep with them, HONEY, get over it. He doesn’t like tilapia!!!Please I hope you take this into consideration cuz TWIST is looking more like aaaanay other straight club!
Several days ago a user named Patricio mentioned that a female friend of theirs was denied entry due to wearing heels and was told she needed to go buy flats. Two friends of mine who are both biologically female (both trim and well kept, one in a pretty dress, one in a black suite, both respectful) tried to go recently and were denied entry because the one in the suit wasnt wearing heels! IE completely contradictory to what they told Patricios friend. Not that this is particular unusual, but it seems clear that they are making up rules on the spot to deny entry to anyone that doesnt fit their target demographic.
DO NOT GO HERE ITS SKETCHYIf I could give zero stars I would! There are two reviews here listed from a Mark and Patricio where they mentioned the worker telling their friends to go to CVS to buy shoes bc the shoes she was wearing were not in their dress code. This is exactly what happened to my friends and K tonight. A long with not one but TWO other groups of girls. One of the other groups had gone down to a shoe store and grabbed a pair of jelly flats and took it to the worker to ask if they were okay to wear and they were literally the exact same height as the one my friends were wearing. We even went back to the worker to show him the heels were the same height and all he did was be dismissive and say he didn’t want to hear it. I believe along with Mark that they are picking and choosing who they want. My friends and I were dressed up very nicely so there shouldn’t have been a reason to to decline entry. Please do not go here and be aware of what’s going on and keep your wits about you. They will take advantage of you!
My friend was pickpockets in the restroom at the urinal. He was distracted by another guy and just that fast someone brushed by and got his wallet with about $800 in it. As crowded as it gets we dont suggest going there with much money, especially if youte going to lose itgoi
It’s very weird how I was pickpocketed on the dance floor and the bouncer found my wallet without my money. It even weirder how the officers who responded on the scene refused to follow a police report. It’s very strange to me how the bouncer reported that he witnessed I stole the wallet of the guy who pickpocketed me even though I consented to a search of my body and the police declined to search me and furthermore I was the one who had everything less the $80 I had on me. And furthermore I didn’t have anyone else’s wallet. Best of luck here. Beware of what goes on on the dance floor.
My fave bar in Florida day or night! Every single employee is genuinely friendly. You can tell when people are having fun and like their coworkers. They make me feel like I am part of the family though its obvious I lack what would seem necessary accouterments. They are just nice! Plus, it is really SEVEN bars and each has a distinct style so you can please your every mood by walking one room to the next. Dont ask me to pick a favorite! I feel safe there. Great drinks---no cheap wells.
Fun place but.... no cover fee, fun atmosphere, dancers... good music +++(- cons) the smoking inside is awful.... no place for fresh air since everyone around you are smoking. Drinks are overpriced and served over full pint of ice... ordered same drinks on two different bars and was charged 2 different amounts... not consistent? But overall a fun place to go with your friends.
No te dejan entrar si no tienes huaraches de cristal 🤣 . The guy at the door first gave us a deep sight from head to feet and then said “there’s a dress code”. Their lost, we went to Nathan’s and we spent a great night over there. #nomoreinternalizedhomophobia
11th August 22, found this bar while walking around Miami for a few drinks. Personally its been the dearest/ biggest rip off we have been too since we have been in the USA (even comparing these prices to NYC). 1 beer, 1 cocktail & a seeha for less than an hour $130 dollars. As a comparison, go to the start of Ocean Beech Drive & you can get a large cocktail (34oz I think it was) & a beer for $40 Inc tip.
We had a great time here. The layout was nice, multiple dance areas with different types of music - both indoor and outdoor. The drinks were a fair price, and the bartenders were attentive.
Went here last month twice, and we had a great time!!! No cover. Went on a Sunday night and a weekday...no line. Drink prices are decent. So many rooms! Hiphop, house, pop, Latin, etc. Nice atmosphere and vibe, whatever youre feeling. We checked out every room, it was fun! Place is huge, lots of people, 2 or 3 levels. Bartenders are hot. There was a lil drag show one night, it was good. And in the hiphop room theres guys in underwear walking around and dancing on the poles, you can tip for a dance! And great location in South Beach. We walked from out hotel!
Wouldnt come here ever again. The disrespect i feel after the experience I had at this low class club, brought me to feel uncomfortable. The fact I was told to go to an ATM to pay someone to dance on me? Like seriously? Wouldnt advise someone to come here ever. The bars are great, but I wouldnt go down the dark hallway ever! Im sorry I have way more self worth than that. The owner must be very proud of the unsave establishment he/she created. Good luck having wealth come here.
Reasonably priced drinks (8-9$ for vodka Coke, mojitos, screwdriver, etc) bartenders are really nice. Music is lit everywhere you go and the dancers are great. Dont believe the bad reviews at all and go in with an open mind. Be sure to check out all dance floors!
Visiting from NYC, needed to grab some drinks and dance with my friends for the night. Great music and great venue! So many different rooms and different types of music ranging from Top 40 hits to EDM to Salsa. Def recommend!
*Visitor perspective* We went in 2pm, me and my two sisters and we had an amazing Kiki with Carlton the bartender here. Carlton ranks #1 on my list of Bartenders Ive meet in Miami, he was so funny, its definitely gay humor and we were laughing house down boots. 10/10
The bar tender was very rude, arrogant and very Confrontational. I asked for a corona with a lemon and he gave me my beer but he wasn’t satisfied with the tip I gave him. So he proceeded to talk about me to the next guest that he was serving. After that moment I felt very uncomfortable with the POOR service! Him and the people he was serving laughing at me an continues to talk about me to his guest. If you not satisfied with you job and how much you make get a new one! Moving forward will I Visit twist again?? Hell no! The bar tender was located down stairs back right side of the club hope he has a good life and work on his people skills! But I give twist 👎🏽👎🏽 Fire him!
This is a REAL dance factory. I love this club. It is great to just go crazy and lose yourself. With that said, you should NOT bring your phone inside. I kept my phone in my front pocket the whole time. Within MINUTES of taking a couple selfies and putting it back in my pocket, IT WENT MISSING. The crowd will engulf you if you let it- sketchy and very smart burglars here. Leave your phone at the hotel. Take a taxi back. It is less expensive than losing your phone.
Edit: THIS PLACE HASNT CHANGED DO NOT GO, STILL THE SAME BS, my review remains the samePLEASE READ REVIEWSThis place is more than a literal tourist trap. They will target and exploit you.My partner had his phone stolen by the bartender with pink hair. The guard then kicked us out claiming we were too drunk even though we had two drinks. I thought it was weird until my partner realized his phone was stolen by the staff. My partner had no way home, in a city he didnt know, and I spent all night trying to reach him. He ended up sleeping on the streets cuz of this bar. This is an ORGANIZED CRIME operation. Out of towners beware.Phone thiefs. Do not enter with your phone.EDIT: went by the next day and the bartender laughed at us. Said “it is the new thing” like it is an amenity of the bar. He mocked us as he coyly said bye. Honestly a weird place.
OMG!! I cant tell you how much fun I had with Mikey and Mario (bartenders). They made my quick visit worth wild and the best part of Miami. Not only did they provided me with tasty drinks, but they looked after my friend and I. I cant give enough props to these two amazing men. Thank you for looking out for my friend and I!! I truly appreciate your attentiveness and respect. Wish I could visit Twist more...
This is a really good bar and the staff at the back of the bar are really nice and friendly and the young thin doorman with the glasses who is on early when it first opens is a really nice guy. ( until the other door men turn up who he is clearly scared of )But this place is spoiled by the rude ignorant homophobic fat doormen that come in later in the night. The small fat one that walks round inside giving everyone dirty looks and been as rude as possible to anyone he can is really really horrible and the one who sits outside thinking he is as big as 10 men is even worse and just an ignorant homophobic fat rude bully .Why would the owners of this place give work to these ignorant nasty guys when there quiet clearly spoiling the place and making people not want to go there
Came here on a Sunday night with a friend who wanted to introduce me to one of their fav South Beach dive-y gay bars. How this place is considered dive-y, I dont know because it is HUGE and very labyrinthine.I loved the vibe from the minute I interacted with the bouncer at the door. Very welcoming and inclusive and just walking past the front bar, several patrons said hello and started chatting. My friend and I went to the back bar where they have go-go dancers after a time. There is also an upstairs bar, but it had not opened yet when we arrived. The bartenders in the back were gorgeous (natch) and almost immediately, the show started after we grabbed a barstool. The show was emceed by an abfab drag queen (as you would expect) who was not only interactive, hysterical, and engaging with the crowd, but just knew how to have fun and push the boundaries just enough. The go-go dancers were ridiculously hot, like you cannot believe there are such perfect male specimens in existence who can move their hips like that! When we first got to the back bar, we were one of the few there, but in a matter of 30mins, the place was packed! It was like an instant party and was so much fun!The drinks were a bit pricey for $10 you-call wells, but they make them strong and with the added entertainment, well worth the price!I cant wait to return the next time Im in town!
Just came to twist with my spouse who is black. He asked for a glass of water because he was dehydrated due to medication. He told the bartender that. The bartender told him, Its only for paying customers. A few minutes later I came up to the same guy and asked him for some water, sure enough he gave it to me and poured one for my spouse once. Only when the white guy came and asked did he provide the water.
This is an amazing club, whenever you get a chance to visit it, look for Charlie, he is the best bartender, he makes this place unique, enjoyable and friendly to anyone!!!!!!! Im so glad to visit this club where the LGBT community is so nice!!! I only described as: friendly, nice and great!!!!!!!!! I LOVE IT! i recommend it!!!!
My friend had her phone stolen out of a zipped purse. We were later informed that two other people in that bar also had their phones stolen. The bar needs to up security and hold the thief accountable!
This place is fun, spacious, and friendly staff but please Watch out for your belongings. As a matter a fact, dont bring anything valueble with you period. Especially not your iPhone. It seems like theifs that target this place must have some buisness/fetish with stealing people’s iphones in specific. Some way some how my iphone 11 pro got stolen even though it was inside my crossbody purse that was zippered and attached to me while my wallet was litterelly in my back pocket and it wasnt even touched which would’ve been much easier to steal than my phone. I know this is not the club’s fault but its becoming something very huge in this place and something needs to be done about it. I sucks that some people can see you drunk/ having a great time then take advantage of that to steal your phone. Karma will get you someday!
It was okay! Loved there were many rooms and it was huge. Good music, BUT people here are HUNGRY FOR MONEY! Omg, they dont even hide it, and they can be very direct and rude about it. First of all Im coming from Las Vegas where dancers and bartenders are much more friendlier and give you actual customer service. Their dancers at twist are hot and cute but they dont let you take photos or video of them while you tip them. Its like theyre hiding in the closet! Come on! Also they tell u right away $20 for a private dance (which means dancing on you for two songs on a chair in the back of the bar). Also, rude, you use the restroom, get a paper towel for the guy, and they ask you right away to give them a dollar. Its not like its a tip optional for them, they Demand you the money. So I did not like their service because of this. Also, you must have a min of $30 dollars spending to use your card. Not very convenient if youre only buying two drinks for now. And also, one of my friends had given a dancer $5 and then gave him another $12 for a dance to total $17 which is how much he had cash at the time before asking me, but the Cuban dancer told him he had to give him $20 exactly, so he took him straight to the ATM to get the rest. Plus, I didnt not know they dont let you take pics, so I took some to show some friends on social media where I was, and the bartender told me right away that if I did that they would kick me out of the club. So I said okay sure sorry I didnt know, minutes later when Im on the other side of the bar having a drink, one of the guys that dances comes up to me and says, I saw you taking a photo of My friend, you took pics, delete them i told him yeah dont worry, the bartender already told me, I deleted them, and he said I dont believe you, you didnt, let me see your phone i got mad and told him No! I am not letting you have my phone, dont worry about it, and he kept on insisting to have me show him my phone to make sure the photos were deleted. Are you freaking kidding me?!?!? I got mad and told him I AM NOT LETTING YOU HAVE MY PHONE, the guy left and that was it. It pissed me off. So yeah theyre MONEY HUNGRY AND because of that I disliked parts of the club. You should learn from Piranhas Nighclub in Las Vegas! They have an amazing club with actual good service and friendly go go dancers. I give u a 2/5 (two for the plenty of rooms and ok music) the rest wasnt of my enjoyment. 👎 youre drinks arent event that great anyway...
Extremely SEXIST place. disturbing how NON INCLUSIVE they are for an lgbt establishment. so tired of their MISOGYNISTIC attitude, with it having not been the first time this has happened. they told my friend they had to wear heels. how dare they assume my friends gender identity and require that women wear heels. this being the second time its happened there in a year, planning on filing a discrimination complaint against them. Its sad to see an lgbt business be so non inclusive towards non binary and gender fluid people.
Great place. So this place has different bars, each with different music/feel, all within “ Twist”. We stayed in the more mellow area w the all the go-go boys. Very chill. Great, generous bar tenders. Go-go boys terrific all ‘round. Fun night!! Thanks!
This ones hard to rank. Its a nice place, with three separate area plus an outdoor space, albeit a small one. Theres something to be said for a gay club in South Beach that cant be quantified. Compared to other major gay clubs in similar destination cities, it feels small and unexciting. I had a good time. Drinks were reasonable and the gogos were attractive. Simple but elegant is the phrase I would use.
It is not only the pickpockets you need to worry about at this place, they charged me for a tip i didnt add to my check!!! Also the place is tacky as hell and music not good and repetitive.
