Nice atmosphere, good music, and very popular on a Friday night. Only downside is the bartenders are a bit pushy, which I can understand when it’s that crowded, but even when I went to cash tip they aggressively snatched it and walked away. If I’m paying 15$ a drink and being polite, the least they could do is treat people with more respect. I’d come back though.
I really like this bar. Atmosphere is amazing and the venue is just ultra picturesque. I have to say this venue is calming. I think acoustic music would feel so good here. Prices are good and the staff is friendly. I felt good here. I would definitely recommend this bar, especially if the music is good
Tate can’t remember faces that walk in and out. For a slow Thursday night. If that didn’t happen I would have rated this bar higher. (Was friends who was a DJ playing that nigh). A good 3 star bar.
Lol. I’ve been going here for about a year now, never had any problems. Until last weekend! Some new guy accused me of having a fake. He would not elaborate at all and was very rude. Funniest thing is, the same guy has let me in a couple times before that. Im turning 23 in a couple weeks. Train your employees on how to properly check for fakes instead of accusing people with real ones. Won’t be coming back here!
Charge way too much for drinks. I was charged $9 for a plain redbull, no alcohol whatsoever, just a redbull. The bartender was rude as well and the floor is sticky. Terrible experience overall
Was really looking forward to seeing a friend’s show because we’re in from out of town, but bar tender wouldn’t accept me and my fiancés real IDs from Washington (we’re 25 and 28 years old). Was rude and abrupt and I’m super disappointed to miss the show
I think they over charge me for my drinks. My friend bought the same and only paid $14 I was charged $25 for two drinks (both well liquor) I tipped in cash and didn’t grab my recipe due to circumstances. Just watch the charges, learn from my mistakes please
Idiot bartender doesn’t know how to read ID’s and wouldn’t let us into a show we traveled 500 miles to see. Apparently you should bring 3 forms of Id with you if you want to go here and probably your social security number.
Bar to feel cool for sure, exquisite bartenders, new pool tables, great concerts, dive bar feel with an impressive collection of amaros. Tried Opal here for a first time, poppin on the weekend nights but a good crowd most of the week
Popped in Saturday night after some food up the street. Saw Siak Phd and his boys for a legit live show! Floor was suuuper sticky, almost lost my shoe 😂That’s not International’s fault. We blame the kids. Probably some frat boy who spilled a pitcher of Kamikaze.Wait you guys sell Kamikaze? …By the pitcher? Please tell you do.🤤
We used to always drop by at night for local bands but lately 9/10 artists they book are DJs. They need to change their name to International DJ bar if theyre not booking real bands. Dont recommend if youre looking for an actual artist venue.
Cool bar but the fog machine is so horrible that my throat still hurts the next day. The circulation is just not good enough to do that. And when it was super overwhelming, they added even more fog. I tried to get a break but because people smoke outside, there was absolutely no escape. Nothing against smokers but The air is so bad in Utah already that the fog machine is just an extra kick. I would go back if they stopped with the excessiveness. Please please do something.Edit: Went to international last night and they definitely improved the fog machine situation. I’m so glad that it was taken seriously!
Yikes! It’s not the desitination but the trip! Originally I posted some details regarding a worrisome interaction with a fearful, uneasy, bouncer or Doorman at this establishment. Ive heard goodthings, and Im confident this place is managed above and beyond whats right and proper. Id just be careful in there. Im grateful for this encounter & the opportunity to learn how to NOT act towards my brothers and sisters. Above all dont scare the doorman! He needs the community’s love and respect so that he may love and respect others going forward and move past fear.
This was a really fun bar until one of the worst bands I’ve ever heard play came on. If you’re going to have live music don’t blow the entire bars eardrums out with feedback and fuzz noise. Punk rock is great if it doesn’t make your eardrums bleed. Bar staff was bad - didn’t seem to be making much of an effort to get anyone their drinks quickly and was rude.
I went here for my birthday, it was Christmas weekend and not a lot of goths. I had a great time and will be going again soon! Especially when DJ Gabriel plays.
Right in downtown Slc. In one of the more trafficked, weekend spots. The interior isn’t really arranged in a fashion conducive to hosting music acts. But seems like chill spot.
The bar tenderts are smart and know their stuff. There Is dancing and free pool. The bar tenders are chill and non judgemental. You can always find people who are welcoming and comfortable regardless of where you come from or who you are. They have dancing and free pool. The international is the place to be!!!
Always electric shows! Although last time i went the bouncer said my real ID was fake and wouldn’t let me show him other forms of ID.
Great resource for local artists cutting their teeth. Fun bar vibes with booths and a few arcade games. The stage is oriented sideways, which creates a good amount of echo, and forces bathroom users to traverse the crowd, which can be awkward. Could use some baffling to reduce echo.
Beer is not as cold as it can be and it is real pricey here for what is offered. Service is spot on. The hell with the bands, One here during the day and enjoy the 3 ring circus. Its free!
Once a month Utahs new once a month goth night takes place here with DJ Gabriel and guests. Everything from post-punk, new/old school goth, dark wave, synth pop, industrial, cold wave, new wave, etc. Mostly packed this night offers an alternative to the once normal top Goth/80s dancefloor hits to the obscure mixed in.
Sometimes you wanna go where everybody knows your name. Ugh, I miss this place.
Cool when not as busy but after 8:30 its one of the busiest bars. However the bartenders seem to be able to handle the pressure well.
Great live music that is much more avant garde than your typical joint. Fits in the hipster night club void that SLC has been needing.
We came for goth night, the staff was not too bad. After a while it got way too busy and way too crowded for my taste. I still like the place, were going again next month.
Used to come all the time when it was wasted. Started coming to this new one and really enjoyed it until last night. Got charged 2 tabs when i only had mine . Sadly wont be going back anymore
One of the best bars in Salt Lake City. It’s new, so tell your friends. Great atmosphere and staff, a “cool spot”
Not my favorite spot. Pretty divey, not a good beer selection. I have friends that like it though lol
Favorite venue and bar in salt lake so far. Love it.
Was walking by last night when I heard the music inside. Walking inside I was blown away, incredible energy, great staff, great prices, and the people were amazing
These folks really need to get a handle on the rat situation they have in their dumpster area. Its really nasty to have rats all over the place when youre trying to chill outside.
Too small. Too crowded to do anything. Wont be back until bigger location
Great goth night.
Affordable drinks, amazing bands, clean bathrooms, good people.
Good music and beer is reasonably priced
Nice drinks and cute bartender. Live music on Fridays.
Important center of local music and a great little dive! ❣️
A good place to get a drink and listen to music.
Good beer
If this is what you are looking for, look no further. When you know, you know.
Cigarettes cost $14
Not welcoming at all.
Clockwork Orange as a clientele
Carlos is the one who makes this place!
