Nara Thai Massage

Did a couples massage. Lots of good communication. I got Thai and she got deep tissue. Both were excellent. As others have said, the facilities are impressively clean. Looking forward to our next visit. Thank you!

I’ve been going to Nara for about two years now. The folks that own the place are always very kind and welcoming, and I’ve never had a bad experience with any of their therapists. Communication is great, with constant checking in about level of comfort. Highly recommended!

Came here for the first time, Yaya did my massage, and it was amazing! My hips and IT bands were very tight and feel so much better. Would recommend!

Jay is a fantastic massage therapist. I sought him out after I woke up with a shoulder injury and he did a fascial release that had a huge impact on reducing pain and increasing range of motion. He is very thorough and intuitive in his work, and made the experience a conversation as to not push me too far into discomfort. Most importantly, he has a very centered and calming presence that allows me to relax into the massage which is very soothing for the central nervous system. I trust him 100% as a body worker and would highly recommend him to everyone. Jay is gifted and has proven to be a blessing to me each time I have come in to work with him.

My first Thai massage experience. I left so much better then when I walked in. I have so much tension and aches in my neck/shoulders/upper back. Aya (?) the owner was my therapist and she was amazing all around. She listened to me when I told her my problem areas and that was her focus throughout my session. I’ll be back ! I just had the massage experience of a lifetime—seriously, I think Lanny might be a magical wizard of relaxation. I booked a two-hour session because I was tired, tight, sore, weak, and moody.Lanny, my massage savant, began walking all over me, loosening all the knots and tightness, then she went to town with a blend of Swedish, deep tissue, and trigger point techniques. By the end, I was submerged in a state of blissful oblivion by being stretched, contorted, and folded into the happiest human pretzel in the world.I’m definitely coming back and telling everyone I know—my body has never been this grateful!

I found Nara while exercise-walking on Bitters. Made an appointment for Ashiatsu/Walking session based on their reviews. Jay (owner) was very friendly and polite. Bee (therapist) was the best. The stretching, stroking, and pressure depth were the best Ive ever experienced. Will definitely return regularly. Highly recommend.

Naras skills are not only applicable to men and women of average weight, but she can conquer even a big guy like me, (308 lbs) with severe spasms, a frozen shoulder and I was starting to lose feeling in my forearm and fingers...she healed me in 60 minutes working only on the upper left body. Next week its 90 minutes, full body. I cant wait. Im a truck driver now but in my previous life/career, I was a licensed massage therapist. I have always admired the Thai method. Nara is my therapist now.

Great experience. My wife has gone for awhile and I finally went in. Customer service was excellent. 1 hour session was what I had and worth the experience. For pain in feet, and neck helped so that I am not walking in pain anymore and I can turn my neck again.This was my 1st massage in 10 years almost and the amount of knots I had was no match for the staff. They unfurled my knots and if you choose them you will not be let down.

Had a thai deep tissue massage with cupping w Nikki. One of the best massages and certainly the only deep stretch I’ve had in years. Feel amazing. My husband had Thai walking massage with YaYa. Says it was the best massage of his life!! We can’t wait to return.

It’s not a spa atmosphere BUT clean, Thai massage is great, rooms are spacious, spa music relaxing, massage table comfortable, lights are dim, room temp on point. Small and not too many massage rooms. Only critique is that I asked for aromatherapy (extra $) and I expected it during the entire 90 minutes of my massage but wasn’t introduced until 1/2way thru. Additionally, I don’t believe they reviewed my electronic intake but I will definitely schedule again

If it was possible to rate this place 1000 stars, I would. Yaya did my massage and she could easily pinpoint the areas where I was tight and where it was stemming from, even if it was a completely different muscle group. She then massaged the source of my pain away, and she routinely asks if the pressure is perfect for you. It felt amazing! The experience was ambient, relaxing, and soothing, definitely much needed to decompress the week. Yaya is also very interesting to talk to, so the hour felt like 20 minutes!

Nara is by far my favorite massage therapy studio in San Antonio. The massage studio is notably clean, with a very warm and inviting atmosphere. I have been to Yaya a few times and she is wonderful, the other staff do a phenomenal job as well. They ask great questions to get to the root of any discomfort and provide advice on different stretches as well as having great knowledge of the areas to target during the massage. I get a combination of a Swedish/Thai massage on a regular basis, basically a combination of a traditional massage, Thai back walking, and can involve some pretty intensive stretching. I also highly recommend the hot stones (for targeting pain and general relaxation) and the peppermint scalp treatment (helps with headaches and is a nice scalp massage in general). Also, the online booking process is extremely easy which is awesome for my tight schedule.

Nicky is a new therapist at Nara Thai massage. She is awesome, especially if you are an athlete or suffering from injuries. My post workout recovery is much faster after the Thai combination massage with her. I highly recommend her.

My Massage therapist was Yaya and she did an amazing job. I was in a lot of pain going into the massage but couldn’t pin point the source of any of it and Yaya helped me so so much. She worked on all of my tight muscles and gave me advice on how to take care of them. I recommend Nara Thai Massage and Yaya!

I was so amazed at how quickly my pain and muscle knots melted away during the massage with Yaya. I did a 1 hour deep tissue and had severe tightness due to overwork on the computer. I was having dizziness from neck pain before I went in but after the massage, I felt 10 years younger and more mobile. I don’t feel the dizziness this morning after the massage so I know my circulation is improved. Amazing results. I saw Jay last visit and was impressed with how well he stretched my back and shoulders out. I was able to go on vacation with no pain. Thank you so much.

Isaiah is an awesome massage therapist. He can do deep tissue and get in the muscles to work out knots and sore spots. And at the same time he can softly and gently work on sore areas on your body. Also, he is very thorough and has a good pace in doing his technique. Must add, he is a very friendly person and will listen to your concerns.

Ive been to many massage places in San Antonio. Nara is as good as any Ive been to here or anywhere, really. I think the only better Thai massage I got was on holiday in Rome. So, I will be keeping this on my short list when I want stretching, walking on my back kind of deep-tissue massage.

Just had another excellent massage here from Yaya. She honestly cares about your well being and really puts her heart and soul into every massage. Not only does she give an awesome relaxing massage, but if you have an area that is giving you pain she will focus on that area with the best deep tissue techniques I ever saw. The staff explained how to fill out the paperwork and ensured we were comfortable the entire time. The mix of stretches and massages was exactly what I needed. Im always leary of any place with all 5 star reviews. But this massage was definitely worthy of a 5 star review. I had a Thai yoga massage a few years back in Houston and really liked it. I havent found any other massage like it. I needed to be stretched some and have some tightness relieved. Narsse was absolutely amazing & gave me a massage far more than I expected. After about 15 minutes, I wish I would have booked a 90 minute session. She used hot towels on the parts of my body she wasnt working on. They helped get it ready for her hands on treatment. She walked on my back and arms, twisted and stretched my shoulders and back and neck. Massaged my head and all the way down to my feet. The last few minutes were spent with her behind me and stretching my back. It was one of the best massages I have ever had and when Im back in SA, Im booking her again but for a 90 minute massage!

With several autoimmune issues, I have tried medication, general massage techniques, myofascial release therapy, chiropractor treatments, and cryotherapy, and nothing has helped long-term. I easily have a foot and 150 lbs on her but I couldnt tell during the therapy. She also used hot stones and walked on my back for a total time of 90 minutes. I feel great and will be sending my wife in.

SInce traveling to Thailand several years ago, I do not want to get a massage unless it is an authentic Thai massage or ashiatsu. Before last week, I was only aware of one place that offered ashiatsu but at unbelievably expensive prices. I happened to drive by Nara last weekend and thought I would give it a shot. I am thrilled I did. I got the best massage of my life. I had been suffering from severe lower back, buttock, and leg pain for a couple weeks and today (my massage was yesterday), the pain is gone. I highly recommend Nara Thai Massage. You wont be disappointed!

A Real Massage place, a unique and hard to find kind of place... In my experience they are very focused in understanding your circumstances and specific needs, I was treated as a human. I felt the professionalism, attention and care for my wellbeing.... After years of feeling discomfort in my left shoulder Yaya was able to pinpoint the issue, she literally placed it back in place, being a very old lesion (from 20+ years ago) is a lot of work, I know it wont stay in place, but she does a great and long lasting work that keeps me w/o pain for months and months ... She has treated my Shoulder 3 times in the last 3-4 years, Ill keep coming back …

One of the best massages I have ever had. A lot of Masseuses don’t incorporate stretching into their deep tissue relaxation therapy. It was the perfect amount of deep muscle massaging and stretching to release all the built up tension in myproblematic muscle groups.
