We recently stopped into Bootlegger for a bite and a beverage. Shasta waited on us and was an excellent server. We decided to split a build a burger and ordered a beer each. The burger was enormous and delicious - Thursdays they are on special and you can get as many toppings as you like with no up charges. It’s a good deal. The fries were a bit disappointing because they weren’t crispy enough and kind of soft/limp. It wasn’t super busy the day we went but I imagine during baseball season or weekends it gets pretty crowded there. Bootlegger has a large selection of brews on top. We will definitely be back again.
(Last visited 5/15/2023.) Hanging out in San Diego with my boys for the weekend and its the last full day before we have to head back home. Well, its Sunday Funday so that means brunch! I found out this place offers bottomless mimosas on Saturdays and Sundays 9:30am to 1:00pm so we pulled up and got started! Heres how it went...Atmosphere/Appearance: The Bootlegger is set right downtown on the corner of Market Street and 8th Avenue. Theres a big vertical sign hanging way above the door pointing down to the bar in a very 60s Las Vegas sign sort of fashion. The inside gives me not-quite rustic vibes with its leather seats, exposed brick, yet modern amenities such as huge TVs hanging over the bar. It was a good mix. This place was LIVE though! It was lively, energetic and just an overall good time.Service: I cant remember who took care of us because there was so much going on, but we sat at the bar so the mimosas were flowing at Mach speed. Lol. We never needed to ask for anything because we had it.Food: I went with the Steak & Eggs, which is seared skirt steak, two eggs any way, tomatoes, peppers and a potato hash. It was cool. Im here for the drinks and I just need food to soak up the alcohol. Lol. I would certainly lean a different direction, maybe toward the chicken & waffles with mac & cheese or something like that.Value: Pretty great if you ask me. Bottomless mimosas are $25.00 and you get to drink for 3.5 hours if you get here at 9:30am. Lol. Thats pretty good value. My steak & eggs were only $15.00 so thats why they were pretty mid. Lol.If youre coming for brunch youre going to love this place! I know I did and I look forward to returning next year!
I had a nice meal here on a random slow Monday night. The selection of beers and cocktails was good, the apps were well-prepared, the entrees were good, and the service was good. We tried the crispy deviled eggs, fried pickles, chicken and waffles, and sliders. For me, the stand-out was the eggs; theyre good, but the portion is only 4, so it left me wanting more. The waffle was just ok.
The food here was A+++ Especially the clam chowder. I scarfed it down so fast I didnt get a picture. The shrimp tacos were 🔥🔥🔥🔥 I got grilled and breaded. The fish n chips were 💣 af too. Not to mention our server, she took care of us like family and we were a group of 16.I highly recommend trying this place.
First time Visiting Downtown San DiegoDecided I would take the family to this spot.Arrived around brunch-time on a Sunday , Dj was already hype, atmosphere was great friendly hosts and hostess, waiter made sure our waters were filled. I’d definitely visit here again _from Dallas. Food _ tried the breakfast 🥞 🥚 burger 🍔 , Chicken 🍗 and waffles and stuffed Toast. 🍞Overall Great Experience,Go Check it out for yourself.
This is a place we came for a late night party before pandemic, it was very fun. And this time, we came here for brunch. I ordered a Nacho plate and my husband had a breakfast burger. Both of them taste so so, not too bad, but we think we can cook better than that. My husband loved his Bloody Mary. My sangria is fine. The service was super slow, the waiters are nice, but they are too busy to take care of us.
The food was exceptional but Rand, our server, made this experience the best. He is such an attentive guy and made sure our mimosas were topped off. The best sever ever.
Bartender was nice, was a little windy with the door open. I got sliders, and they were pretty bare bones for $15. Just meat, cheese, and sauce, and the buns were a little stale. Id go with the burger next time, theres more food there and you get fries
This place was an absolute blast and great time. My friend was visiting and he is a huge 49ers fan and it’s definitely a 49ers bar so we had a great time. Drinks and service are really good here. Drinks are also fairly priced well too. Good beer selection. Just be aware that the nachos had a bunch of hot sauce on them. Might have just been a one time thing but it seemed rather obsessive. This is all we ate here and it was a great place to watch football at. Definitely can’t wait to come back again.
The atmosphere is good the waitress is okay but PLEASE BE AWARE . Make sure you keep you recipe. The waitress overcharged my card ! I got a drink and two shot (it got charge $60 on my card) but when I signed my recipe it was a different price because I tipped in cash ! They do not have my business anymore .
Food was whatever. I guess what you would expect for a bar. Drinks were okay, decent variety of beers and mixed drinks. For a holiday weekend was pretty slow for a Saturday night also.Went to use the womens restroom and it was absolutely horrendous. Idk who does restroom checks, but most stalls out of toilet paper or just badly placed quarter rolls on the back of toilets and wet paper towel rolls left on the counter with no dispensers. Also looks dusty AF and grimy. Appears they never clean their stall doors or vents. For a place with only about 4 females present at 10pm, looks like they may only cater to the male staff? So sad
So I seen this place on tik tok and thought it would be good came to San Diego for vacation.we got there they were very welcomed.we sat down ordered food they took a while for that. We got our food. They brought my daughters food when we were already almost done. The burger was burnt, my daughters tenders were nasty and were so small (as you can see in the pictures blow) their food was trash. My 4 year old daughter tolled us to never go there again. Felt sick after I ate there food 🤮🤮
We went right in at 11 Am (opening time) and was warmly greeted by the bar. Waitress wasnt too bad. However after some talking she was much more pleasurable. Bloody mary was good and great food, we had the French dip. Shortly after arriving we were accosted by a homeless person, but this person was quickly ushered off by staff. Great time tho and more excited for the baseball game.
So my lovely other half and I both injured our right arms... ugh.. which makes cooking and stuff kinda rough. So we decided to try ‘Post mates’ delivery. On their free delivery (“party time”) we saw Bootlegger listed as an option. We had both wanted to try their food so we ordered. The order was supposed to be 2 chicken and waffle plates and a build your own nacho. When the order arrived. We were short a chicken and waffle plate, we ended up with a chicken and waffle sandwich(which has bacon and my man doesn’t eat pork) and our nacho was upside down(all the goods were at the bottom of the box and the chips were soggy and on top. I then used the ‘post mates’ app to complain and it took me through a process of listing what was wrong and getting a refund but no new food. So I called Bootlegger directly. Cory was the gentleman that listened to my gripping and “Hang-ry “ Description of what happened and he was sooooo patient.. He also really listened. He then apologized and walked me through the process of reordering and extending the delivery time for us.. he called ‘post mates’ and explained what happened so they would call and help us with the refund and free delivery. I gotta admit I was annoyed that our food wouldn’t get to us till 10:03( just cause of how late it already was and how hungry we were). HOWEVER.. when our items arrived they were PERFECT! And the flavor was so good. Not to mention that Cory called us back to let us know he made sure it was made right, that he treated us to an extra side of cheese sauce(and I am a cheese-a-holic) and he hoped we enjoyed. That was hella above and beyond. I was in the restaurant industry for over 20years and my man is a chef(that’s how we met ☺️) This was some of the best customer service we have ever had. So Cory(and bootlegger) thank you! We look forward to coming in. Cause the thing is.. mistakes happen but how you handle them shows so much character. We are super grateful that you had empathy for our situation. And ‘Post Mates’, Thank you for the great customer service as well! Truly made up for the issues and totally worth the wait!🙏🏾💜
First time at Bootlegger and we had a party of 11 and the food and service was fast and amazing. RAND our server was very attentive and friendly..Everything was on point..We will be back..
Great beer selection. Good food. Indifferent service. Horrible atmosphere. Way, way, way, way too loud music. If they actually made it a speakeasy, it would be terrific... Its just a regular sports bar run by a 2 am nightclub owner.
This prohibition-themed bar in the heart of the East Village offers a hip and vibrant atmosphere, expansive beer selection, innovative craft cocktails, friendly staff, and daily DJ entertainment. Spots fans will appreciate the numerous games playing throughout the establishment; non-fans will enjoy the music and recently revamped menu. Dont miss the weekend brunch, which features bottomless mimosas and a southwestern-inspired menu. Try the chicken and waffles with a side of the yummiest smoked gouda mac and cheese!
This place was next to my hostel and the bouncer saw me struggling to find my way and pointed me in the right way. The next day I decided to have a few beers and watch the Padres game here. Had some wings that were quite good. But the real treat was sampling their crazy 45 beers on tap selection. Shout out to Brady for his attentive service and being a great host. Next time Im in town, this is a must visit!
Had a wonderful experience! Great selection of both beers and liquor! Was a calm atmosphere when my date and I got there an hour before close on Tuesday, May 30th. The bartenders were very pleasant and lovely to talk to! They let me give a couple IPAs a try before ordering a pint, which was very nice. Didnt try the food, so cant give a rating on that.
Came here after a Padres game on a Friday night and was pleased with the crowd and the great service. Ive eaten here before a few years ago but havent been on a Friday night. Was able to get some decent seating at the bar, and the bar backs were really attentive and kept the drinks full. Great place!
Dined in around 7pm, not busy. Ordered from the burger/beer menu. Waited over an hour and a half for food. We were one of the few tables eating by that time. We had to ask for silverware. We asked if something could be done because of the long wait. Meal was taken off bill by manager. Manager was not helping any of the servers with their tables, yet chatting with people in the bar. Very disappointing.
Great atmosphere, but terrible service. Waited an hour and a half for a cheeseburger. The waitress only stopped by twice. When we finally got our food, the burger was hot pink but was requested well done. A few patrons were actually eating so the kitchen could not have been backed up.The manager was on duty the entire time, but prioritized being a photographer, messing with the music and hanging out above taking care of his team. We were comped our burgers when the waitress asked him. This place could benefit from a manager that seems to care about helping his people and customers.
Vast selection of beers and drinks. Bartenders know how to make drinks and food is great. Definitely a place to go to watch football or wind down after long days.
Great pre-game bar in centre of San Diego. If you are a Cromson Tide / Alabama fan this is definitely the place to come, so many people in maroon.Great buffalo wings, even better local IPA, friendly staff.
Came in for a late brunch and ordered the chicken and waffles with the Mac and cheese. Mac and cheese was tasty. The chicken seasoning kinda had a sweet taste but not overpowering(was a fan of chicken)
Came here before a Padres game and we enjoyed it. I recall the club sandwich as being the best I have EVER had. The thick cut bacon was seriously killer. Beer was cold. Service was good just a bit slow considering there were only a couple other people in the restaurant at the time. We will definitely be back!
Food was awesome! Portions were perfect, and both dishes were flavorful, and had delicious. Had the steak salad and bub ordered a burger. Both great 👍 Good selection of beer too. Staff was beyond superb! Cannot compliment them enough for supporting a welcoming atmosphere. Will definitely come back here again!
Stopped in here for a quick bite. Vinny seemed to know the name of everyone sitting at the bar. Burger with sweet potato tater tots $10, really great deal. Food was portioned well and there were enough tots to take home to share with my pups. 🤗
Great place to watch the football games. Delicious food selection and great service.
Great selection of beers here and great service. The menu is pretty long, and on top of that the build your own burger and nacho options make anything possible!
BYOB Thursday is yasss queen. Just $10 and you get quality meat, good bread, your sides, a side, and a beer. You can’t beat this. I had angus beef and let me tell you, finger licking good. Great atmosphere and good service. I’ll be back again. 😄
Found this place while we were visiting San Diego. It was giving off great bar food vibes from the outside. Once we got inside it was pretty empty for a Saturday evening the weekend before July 4. The best thing about this place was the DJ. He was great! Unfortunately, the food was not. 3 Out of the 4 people in my party either ate less than half of their food or gave it back. There was only one waitress for the entire restaurant, so it took forever to get mediocre service, food and drinks. By the time we got our check, uneaten items deducted we realized we’d spent $100, mostly drinks at this point, to sit at a table. 4 Stars for the DJ!
Food was dry and cold. Felt like it wasnt fresh may have been reheated. The server was great though shame about the food. Was empty inside at the time of visit on a Saturday night about 7pm
Great bar. Didnt have much in the rum department, so I tried a few things the bartender recommended. Not bad, but not what I was looking for. The ambiance is great and its close to everything. Really friendly staff and highly recommend the old fashion if thats your thing.
Wasnt too thrilled. The food was pretty bland. Ordered the clean jerk chicken tacos and the only thing you could taste was the store bought guacamole, chicken was dry as well. Chicken and waffles wernt anything special, flavor was just normal. The mac n cheese was good and so were the fried pickles. Wouldnt recommend it
Came at 6pm on a Wednesday to watch the NBA Warriors vs Celtics game on one of their many TVs. Theres happy hour until 7pm with small bites for 7 dollars. Great atmosphere to hang out!Apparently its bottomless mimosas on the weekend? I gotta check it out!
Waitress was very nice and the food was pretty good. Mac and cheese was flavorful... Ribs had a nice char on the outside... BBQ sauce was a little fruit (plum?) flavor heavy but very edible. Over all good experience.
Pretty chill spot. Enjoyed the atmosphere. Thursdays $10 burger and beer special is a local favorite and dang good. Also the steak salad was legit!! Definitely have to go back and try more things on the menu. Parking can be tough like every other downtown bar/restaurant.
I love this place. My only complaint is that it was too busy, but I know it wss due to it being an Alabama Crimson Tide bar. The atmosphere was great during the playoff game and national championship game. Was there again for the opening game of 2022 and the atmosphere was great still. Roll Tide Roll!
Mostly rated it high bc its a Niner bar, and food is good. Service sucks like most bars in DTSD... Oh well.
Bar staff is awesome, food is great, atmosphere is perfect, highly recommend, will be back consistently, every bartender every night is different but yet awesome, each one whether its, Rachel Natalie Maddie Vinny Nick any of them, every night they remember you, they are amazingThe bar manager Dave is attentive in a positive way and i appreciate it , he isnt in the back just hanging out he remembers those who frequent the bar, he just gives bootleggers a homey feel. This is the east village cheers, this is where the locals goIf you want to learn what San Diego has to offer come here, we will show youCory. ... Cory takes time to understand
Its a good place. Ive had lunch here a bunch of times and never had any issues with the food or the service. Theres been three different bartenders, so its not like I got lucky with the one good one. They run a nice variety of specials, rotating depending on the day of the week. Better small-item selection than a lot of bars. A lot of beers on tap.Theres a bus stop right outside the door and the trolley is within walking distance.
Not my first time here, by far, but my first time in a long time. Great to be back and feel a little more normal as we reopen the city. The wings were crispy but sticky, sweet, smoky and juicy inside. The fried pickles were tasty, but the cornmeal crust kept getting stuck in my teeth, so I wasnt as into them.
Ordered a meal through Yelp. They never put the order in. When I went back they gave me the wrong food. Put in a lousy review on Yelp and the manager, Corey, replied. First he gave me a credit for our meal and asked us to come back in. We did. Food was ready on time and the correct order and food was good. Thanks to a manager that cares about his businessUnfortunately we ordered from them again tonight. Fries were soggy and cold. Shorted two runs from last time and they left the Cole slaw out. Oh well love and learn
At at the bar. The guy bartender seemed irritated, the girl was friendly & engaging. It had an unpleasant twangy smell from beer bottles, soda and juice. Which was contrary to the look as it wasnt dirty at all. The food was amazing as were our cocktails. I had chicken and waffles, hubby had a burger.
Pretty okay spot. Went for Bottomless Mimosas for Brunch (for a Bachelorette). Mimosas were good. The food our group ordered took a long time, much of the service was pretty slow.Overall an okayish place.
Came here for Sunday brunch and it was excellent. Had some family in town and we were a party of 8. Service was excellent and the food was great. Everything we all had was really good! Did all you could drink mimosas and they were refilled promptly!
Came to celebrate a few friends birthdays. We have amazing service and great food from the Brunch menu on a Sunday.Come by this place its atmosphere is everything.
The food was delicious, the beer list is really good too. The mimosas are bottomless for about 15 bucks a person but theyre really good. Toats worth it. Its a nice spot overall would def cum back. The waiter was also very nice and attentive. Not a lot of hot waitresses tho lol
Happy hour and daily specials are bomb and affordable. Build your own burgers are bomb. Its not ur typical premade patties. So many different choices from buns, protein, toppings, sides and sauces. Wings are always juicy. Also their service is always great. Cant beat the price. Good seating areas to watch games and different sport events. Definitely my go to.
We went there before going to a Padre game. The hostess was very nice and sat us down right away. We waited around 15 min and our waitress still hadn’t shown up. My friend went to ask the hostess to see if we can get someone to serve us. The hostess apologized for the waitress and said she was slammed. She brought us water while we waited. After another 10 min or so she finally showed up and took our orders. We ordered food and drinks. It took a while for both. The wrap was ok and the fries were not fully cooked. We were disappointed and decided to leave to another bar.
I love this place.. on Thursdays , its build a burger with as MUCH as you want , paired with a beer for $10. And the burgers are very delicious. They give you a paper to mark all of the items you want on your burger. Including, Bacon, egg, cheese, pickles and MUCH MORE. You gotta try it. Awesome.
$10 all you can add burgers and a beer during happy hour on Thursdays. This place is a chill bar with a feel thats between a dive and sports bar. Its got a nice outdoor seating area and excellent service although sometimes it can be slow. Definitely a chill spot to start off or end the night, the choice is yours.
Went on a Tuesday night with my husband and it was a great experience. We shared the $10 build your own nacho and each had a few beers. The nachos hit the spot and would recommend the place to anyone.
Great breakfast spot and not crowded like all the other fru-fru options. Prices were in line with a normal, American style restaurant, too. If you visit here on the weekend, do the bottomless mimosas!
Nice place in the Gaslamp Quarter, close to Petco Park. Good beer and food. I really liked that you customize your nachos. They give you a format where you pick your ingredients and there is a wide variety of them.
Decent bar food, good beer choices on draft....but the crowd and vibe is what really seperates this place from other bars in the area. Chill, fun and very loyal to its local community. Great service and crew as well. Never a dull moment!
Me and a friend usually go there for their burger special on Thursdays. Excellent choices in varieties in their BYOB, meaning build your own burger. Never disappointed! Includes a beer, and a side choice
I’m from out of town and had no clue where to have a beer and dinner. I called to see if they had indoor dining. Right away I new this was the spot. Very much southern hospitality, “come on in.” I asked when I got here in who answered the phone so I could give him due accolades, His name is Corey. So he got me to come in (as in he was the reason I came in, because it already felt like a chill and inviting vibe )and Vinny at the Bar, was great! For beer I just said, “surprise me,”. He has great taste! And the food was soooo good.
The service was awesome. The bottomless mimosas were a good value, but we all got headaches from the champagne. The food was pretty good. The atmosphere was awesome. We all loved the fun vibe.
I have friends who go here a lot, I have only been a few times. The drinks are insanely overpriced and it is always packed to the brim on the weekends. The food here is awesome. Get your own hamburger or the paleo chicken thing, its legit. Plus the fries, really good.
Love this place. The brunch here is legit, which is one of the main reasons I come back to this place, other than to watch a game or pregame for Petco park. The service has always been friendly when I have gone. One of the best things is their bottomless mimosas for only $15.99 They definitely have heavy hands when it comes to their cocktails. The prices are affordable and they have a lot of deals and specials all the time. My favorite special is the fireball special where if a firetruck or ambulance passes by with its sirens on, a shot of fireball is only $4.00 Fire trucks in Downtown San Diego are a common occurrence so if you like fireball this will make you this place. I would recommend that locals or visitors make it a point to come here to take advantage of the great atmosphere, strong and affordable drinks, as well as the great service. Cheers!
This place is absolutely amazing. Not only is the staff extremely friendly, the food is unbelievably delicious. Bootlegger has become my Thursday lunch ritual. $10 for a burger (build your own), a side, and a beer. Deal of the century! The build your own nachos on Tuesday is also great. Try it out, you wont regret it.
Hit this place for brunch at 10am on sunday. No wait. Great service. Great drinks. Amazing food! Warning however: their bottomless mimosas use really cheap champagne. Stick with their other breakfast drinks (Their bloody marys are quite exceptional and they Coffee/whiskey combo is amazing).
Chicken and waffles where delicious, but I ordered for take out and the waitress was kinda rude and careless. My order was ready minutes before she actually gave it to me and charged me for it. Take your time when ordering from this place. Foods good tho.
I was very impressed with the specialty drinks they have available.. The bartender was very good at going his job.We stopped in for a brief time, yet it was well worth it..I highly recommend this place 👌
I visited this place on a Tuesday night during a slow time and it was perfect. The bar area is a huge square shape with plenty of seating, the food was great, tons of TVs showing a variety of things, and the bartender (Cody?) was really nice.
This place was PACKED for the Alabama game. Great spot in SD to watch a bama game.
Recently went there on a Wednesday and found that it was Whiskey Wednesdays! Me being a large fan of the drink felt compelled to give them a positive review. They had a live acoustic guitarist who was really good and could pretty much play anything. requests are always fun. Try it out!
Everything was delicious, service was okay,Prices are reasonable.Pretzels were awesome,Chicken & waffles was excellent,my guests liked the tomato basil soup , the fried pickles , the nachos and a cheesey pasta dish.
Best 49ers bar in San Diego in my opinion. Watched the Niners win the NFC Championship here in 2020. Good food- Southern inspired. Tons of energy on game days. They also are an Alabama football bar in San Diego.
Exceptional food, beer and service!! We will be back very soon!!! UPDATE... I returned and got theyre sliders and unfortunately they were easily the worst sliders I ever had. The beef was half the size of the small bun, extremely burnt and well done. My friends chicken slider was cold.. disappointed but hoping its just the sliders that suck as the other food we had was good! Will give it one more try!
I went in for the build your own burger and beer $10 you came with a side I got sweet potato tots I had to tots well well-done same on the burger. My favorite things were the sweet potato tots cooked perfectly they had a sweet crunch i would go back just for the tots The staff was world class. And the customer that where at the bar super friendly someone even gave me a free beer i will be back soon
Came to start eating brunch and was told that we couldn’t be sat until our entire party was here. There is two of us here and we are waiting for only 2 more to show up. Really sad that we could have started to order food and drinks. But due to having to wait has caused us to choose to go someplace else. Not to mention the restaurant was the slowest we have ever seen it. So i could understand if the place was busy and packed. And the hostess had been rude every time we have been here. Really sad she is the first experience you have at this (normally awesome) restaurant.
Ive always liked this place. Been there dozens of times over roughly an 8 year or so period. So, not exactly a regular but a standard maybe? Never had a bad time. They remain consistently good on every level--food, drink, service and entertainment. That deserves a nod.
Came to try the wings, sliders, and baby back ribs. everything was good, minus the coleslaw that comes with the ribs. very dry and no flavor.coleslaw not withstanding, we recommend
This is the best food I have had since vacationing. The bootlegger hotlink was so good I got I twice 🙌🏾 Syonuy B was BOMB, she was informal and had the best customer service.. when I come back for vacation this is on the top of my list...
Hostess was less than enthused to help us out. Asked if we could sit at the bar, answer was yea, I guess. Sat down, scanned menu. Bartenders spent next 10 minutes doing everything but helping us, or getting us a drink. Not impressed. Staff didnt seem too interested in helping. Ended up walking out and going elsewhere.
Great service good beer. Havent eaten here but the food always looks great. They have live music some nights as well as a DJ on weekends.
Nice bright, airy place to get together especially for GameDay. Groups are easily accommodated and the service was attentive!
Food was pretty good, atmosphere was rather weird when we were there. Good drinks though!
We waited 15-20 minutes before we could order our food. Then it took about 40 for our food to come out. All we ordered was some sliders and fries. The fries were good. That is it. The sliders were dry and tasteless.
I will begin by saying I am not the Bootleggers demographic but I went here for a birthday. Had the nachos and they were good. The place was packed, there were two games playing that day and it was loud! Too loud to talk to people without yelling which I dont like to do. But if you are into loud music, watching sports on many tv screens, booze, good food with standing room only than this is the place for you! My three star rating is based only on my tastes and experience.
We went in on a Monday night at the suggestion of the three bar staff we met away Old City Hall Bar(Also a really fun place). Their was a few people there but we had a great time. The bartender Domanic(sorry if I spelled it wrong) was AWSOME!!! She laughed and talked with us while still being attentive to her other patrons. Look forward to visiting the next time were in San Diego🤗
Its the best bar in San Diego to root for your favorite team the Alabama Crimson Tide, Roll Tide on all TVs. Great service and really good food.Eric was really nice.
Prices are decent for Socal, food is average. I really enjoyed the bartenders & their drinks! Good place to watch college football! 😌
This would easily be 5 stars if you could get service. Good prices but better order 3 beers at a time. Watriss was doing her best but when the bar is jammed packed and but enough. Staff. This place has potential but I like cold beer.
Excellent service. Food is reasonably priced and good quality. I loved their sweet potato tots! We went with our small puppies on the deck and had a great time.
Decent drinks but service lacked a little. Our drinks sat empty for a while before we were able to get the bartenders attention to cash out. Then the other bartender asked if we wanted another round.
Beer was delicious. Service was super slow. Went at night for beer and sliders. The place wasnt crowded at the table are it was another table and us. Too long to get a drink not my favorite experience.
Visited San Diego and found this nice establishment..... Had the wings. Delicious.. Atmosphere was great.... Drinks were good as well. Great service and food/beverage!! Thanks for the good memories
Great HH, you get to make your nachos and get a Pacifico for $10! Cant beat that!We got a bunch of stuff since it was a company event. The mixed drinks were all amazing! Definitely will be back before a baseball game
Great atmosphere.. great staff. Food was on point. If you dont like a bar that jumps off at night, dont go here. Ask for Russell when you arrive. Tell him Big Gunn sent ya.
In a great place to grab a drink after work or after a game. We were there for a brief time and just grabbed a few drinks after the baseball game the bartenders were attentive and quick
1/3/15My husband and I visited a friend in San Diego 3 months ago and one of our first stops was to Bootlegger Plates & Pours. The bar is really open with lots of natural light and fresh air. The 3 of us found a table by a window and enjoyed watching people walk by while we feasted.Coors was on special for $3 and I think the waitress misunderstood when I asked if this included Coors Light, because I was brought a can of Coors Banquet. Not my favorite, but the price was right. It was followed by a pint of Gunslinger ($4), Mule ($8), a Bug Light draft ($4) and eventually my bottle of Coors Light ($5).Our table shared several small plates form the happy hour menu: Jumbo prawns, seared ahi, and ahi poke ($7 each) and a delicious mac-n-cheese ($10). The mac n cheese was a huge portion and it was delicious - the prawns were also very good and easy to share!Service was kind of slow but Lala was very nice and checked on us often to make sure we didnt need anything else. Just under $60 and a great way to start our San Diego vacation - everything about this place made us feel welcome and it was a beautiful and fun environment.
Took a fat minute to get seated and my helped, but we where in no rush and the atmosphere was good. The staff was awesome, drinks and food where good.
Laid back bar that will crank up the music late at night. The daytime food is great, and the service is top notch. Its always packed on the weekends but the line moves fast.
Used to love this spot. just make sure you dont go there straight from the airport when youre jetlagged from a long international flight. Bartender mistook my dizzyness for being drunk and poured the whole round i had just bought down the sink(after i had paid of course) and called the bouncer, whom i knew who agreed it was ridiculous but i said id take my business elsewhere and I did that night, along with the friends I had brought along. cant see myself returning though. enough to put you off when there are better bars just around the corner
People don’t wash their hands here for some reason. The service was slow after 10pm on a Saturday during comic con weekend - it wasn’t busy, even with 5+ bar staff in cosplay.
Amazing brunch! Fun atmosphere with music and a lot of tvs for all the sports games. Great staff! Good time all around.
Slow server. Over 15min to get drinks. If u are thirsty dont come here. Make sure u get a guy server if u r a girl. The girl server do not care about u if u r a female patron. The TV is too loud. You cant hear conversations. They turned it on loans to attract clients walk by.
Great local beer selection. Friendly staff that makes excellent recommendations of youre not sure what to drink. Decent food. Awesome chips made in house.
Good bar. Great setting. Bartenders were awesome and very friendly with quick service. Came in and watched the chiefs game and had a great time
Just ordered a build your own burger and a steak sandwich using #UberEats and the food was great and we are going to stop by the restaurant very soon. Great food and delivery experience. Plus I used a promo code (eats-afmbq) in the UberEats mobile app under promotions for $20 discount so the complete meal was under $2.
This bar is THEEE best!! Vinny the bartender is phenomenal! If you’re in the area-it is a MUST go to!Football vibes and fun!!!! LFG!
Love this place! Great atmosphere. The place to watch NFL games. The staff is awesome! Service is great! My favorite place for brunch!
Rachel was great, food was awesome, highly recommend, Fridays are burger night, everything is very good
All day everyday $2 street tacos is where it is at. House margaritas are solid. Spendier cocktails and menu items are just that - spendy. But its REALLY hard to beat those $2 tacos. Remember the 15% discount if youre staying at Lucky Ds hostel on the top floors.
Great location, plays great music, any seat is perfect to watch any tv, food and drinks are great and the staff, especially the manager Corey is very in tuned with everything that is happening. Great management.
Great assortment of choices between sandwiches, burgers, salads, and even some paleo creations! Qe were helped by the friendly and sincere Maria, who kicked butt at her job while sporting a fun cosplay for Comic-con! Would highly recommend to anyone.
Pure Awesomeness.Great place, Awesome Bar Staff (Alexis).Even during the day, kick back and enjoy the beer and great tasting food!
Vibe seemed very chill, though my only experience here is a Monday night so its hard to say. The bartenders and patrons had a laidback, enjoyable attitude
Postmates messed up my order here, when I called the manager took great care of me. Made my order fresh at a discounted price and threw in a few free beers while I waited. Will be back again soon
Bootlegger is a great fun bar that has a great environment and the staff is very welcoming. They have a nice wrap around patio that has some seating. They allowed us to stand outside to drink and get fresh air. The day we went was a Bama football game. In case you didnt know, this is the Alabama place in San Diego. All of the fans were great and they had some raffle prizes as well. It is definitely a Southern Bar but sometimes that is just what you need here in San Diego. They have plenty of TVs to catch any of the Saturday college football games on!
I got food poisoning from one of there hamburgers last night.... had to take a whole day off from work. Tried calling them, no one answers the phone. I definitely dont think I should pay a bill that i got super sick on....
The entire staff makes you feel welcome. Its a very comfortable atmosphere. Number one person there is sarah she is the best!!!
Nice American food, and great service! Party athmosphere, even empty and on a Sunday. Staff is coordinated and efficient, plus very friendly.
Amazing beers and delicious pretzel bites. Service was great also. I like the low-key speak easy vibe theyve got going on
Bar food and service at this location is great. i was so stuffed. really nothing but great experiences here, so i will be back. the bill was average for the menu.
I dont know how this place has so many good reviews.. maybe we came on an off day but we made reservations and waited and waited for an hour and our food never came.. We finally asked about it, they hadnt even put the order in yet! Are you kidding?! We asked to speak to the manager and lets just say that manager need to get fired!! Unprofessional, No customer service skills whatsoever! smh. His excuses were ridiculous! We just decided to take our business next door.
Intimate place to have a drink and chat with friends. Service is personable and efficient. Loved the atmosphere here, would be back if in town.
Service was a little slow and the bar was nearly empty but the waiters/waitresses were verry friendly music was definitely not on par for a speakeasy type establishment ok prices and food was worth the price good place overall
Cool place to chill and have a beer. the staff is superior to the normal downtown bartenders! Small plates are awesome and well darn good.
Excellent place to hang out after a long day at work, strong 💪 drinks and wonderful food experience.
Awesome bartender with great suggestions. Loved the food. They allow dogs on the outside seating so worked very well for us.
Great local bar. Amazing staff that treat you like family. Great burgers. Home of Alabama football, alumni chapter, San Diego.
Great service! We went in for a niner game, got awesome seating for the game. The mimosas were flowing and the niners won!
I love this bar. Especially on weekends. Stop in every time I head downtown for at least 2 drink before or after I go to other places. Good music!
A great neighborhood bar in downtown San Diego. This place hosts the local University of Alabama alumni parties during Bama games. Highly recommended.
So, it does get crackin here, nice ambience but, when its busy.... the service is horrible! Youll literally be waiting for your drink for 30 min! Its ridiculous!
Bartenders are good and quick. The place is scrunched when its busy. Basically a big room with a bar in the middle. Not a lot of character, but its fun.
Bartender was only interested in talking to guys around the bar, I sat at the bar with my wife for a little over 5 minutes without being greeted...pretty unprofessional. Hope the rest of the staff doesnt act like this girl.
Best burger in town. But the service is extremely slow. They could make more money if they just hired more staff. An empty glass is lost sales.
Great, but the music is far too loud. It is impossible to talk without screaming in someones face.
I had breakfast, it was good. A little pricey. Service was good. Ill go there again.
Cheap food and relaxing.
Definitely the go-to comfort spot. A place to meet and hang out with friends. Great bar staff and even better drinks.
Went on Sunday for unlimited mimosas...loved it, started off my day right, several tvs for football games with games labelling the tv so you know which one to sit at
One of my better dining experiences downtown would recommend to anyone friendly atmosphere
Good foodGreat staff pf peopleOutdoor Seating ..Next time Im down that way I will definitely make way back
Very fun atmosphere with a good selection of drinks. Nice space with good staff and would have no issue going back.
Sat here waiting to order food for 20 minutes nobody even looked at me. Oh well I’ll go to a better bar.
I visited this place when it was thinly crowded. The ambiance is relaxed and fun. The food is OK, but it does not get delivered within 10 minutes.
Me as well as the wife on a neighborhood roadtrip and discovered this great relaxing beer pub.Great solution, Beer selections and also food rather good.Good ambience with reasonable pricing. We got long island as well as TJ Pet great things
Nice place to sit, relax and enjoy a beer. Quiz night on Wednesday. Mainly locals. Reasonable prices. Good atmosphere.
Great food, bottomless mimosas truly , they never let you go dry try the Benny and stuffed French toast
Best place to watch sports and big games since they play awesome music during the commercials. Service is a little slow but food is good!
Service was very slow and all of our food came out COLD! I could see if they were busy but we were the only customers in the restaurant.
Great selection of beer but be prepared for the post Padre game prices! Atmosphere was worth it! Great music and service!
One of my favorite local places every time I visit San Diego. Great DJs on the weekends, great food and service for a reasonable cost!
10$ Burger and Beer night are fantastic, and they have some great mixed drinks to choose from. Slow service deducts a star.
Food was awesome! Game was on, good atmosphere, plenty of drinks.
Bootlegger has bottomless mimosas, and great service. What could you want more than that?! Good food? They have that too!!
Updated from two to four starts after being contacted by the owner.Initial issues for a two star rating was the expensive beer buckets and music too loud to converse with friends.
Good atmosphere and even with it having been crowded, great service from the bar tenders.
Friendly staff, tasty drinks, and a $10 burger deal every Thursday you cant beat. Wish i knew this place sooner
Great beer selection. Hip hop music thats always a plus. Fun vibes. Def worth checking out!
Great music, good food. I came for a friends birthday on Saturday for the bottomless Mimosas, will return for the selection of beer
Roll Tide! Official Alabama Crimsin tide pub.Grubs good too! They Play very good music on the weekends as well , good crowd ,good fun ,good place!
Good food, friendly and fast staff. Great happy hour special on Thursday.
Good food, friendly staff and quick service
They said they were busy but we had great service and GREAT food! WILL be coming back for bottomless mimosas!
This is usually my go to find, i bought a hazy from almanac and it was really level so i thought it was just the beer. I ordered a chasing mentions from resident brewing, that was additionally flat. Im very disappointed since this isnt what Im made use of to from this facility.
Brunch food was not bad and the service was fantastic. Our endless mimosas were always full!
This bar is out of the main strip of downtown but for that reason it can be a good thing good beer selection . Draws out a good crowd . Like the layout
Coconut whiskey! Drinks are phenomenal! Staff is excellent and friendly. Brunch is awesome awesomeness 👍👌.
Bartenders are appreciatively honest and will help you make the right decisions. Highly reccomend for in between or end of nights.
Huge sandwiches. Tasty. Lots of beer, wine and cocktails. Would love vegetarian options.
Downtowns best local/sports bar to hangout . The staff make you feel like your are their homies!! Super recommend!!
Enjoy there brunch, great atmosphere for football season and decent drinks. Gotta try the horchata beer
Great place for drinks and food before the game! Plenty of selection and nice people!
This place is pretty good food is pretty good for bar food. I would go here again.
