Love Casements and Gillian is great to work with. We held our merchant mixer on the back patio. There was some chill live music playing and staff was attentive and fast. They have a good selection of mocktails and bites. Thank you!
Working environment -Seems like the working environment was such thatthe bartender was not allowed to turn the music down to a comfortable level for themselves. - We chose to sit in the patio when we walked in.Food -Irish spice bag was overly salty but correct flavor. Homemade and not the real powdered stuff.Curry bag sauce was also seemed like a homemade version of the powdered chip sauce. Impressive actually. In both cases Im missing the mass produced powder flavor but it was nice to taste again something similar to the original. Spice bag seasoning has become a nightmare to pay to import.edit: I did not ask for or expect the volume to be changed, it didnt seem like a comfortable volume to be working a bar alone in a room. the acoustics were awful. Im not concerned about my experience. more than of your staff
Update: WHAT HAPPENED, CASEMENTS?? As you see below, this was one of my favorite cocktail bars, and the last several times we’ve been in, it’s been very sub-par. Slow and rude service. Cocktails are mediocre… even the ones we used to love! The worst part is the back patio smells like a men’s room now. It’s genuinely gross sitting back there. We stop in for at least a couple drinks every time we’re in Mission but that’s not going to happen anymore. We’ll still stop by to see if things have changed back… but damn it y’all! What happened??xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxThis might just be my favorite cocktail bar in the Bay Area. The aesthetic is incredible! The brick walls, the wild wallpaper opposite the bar, and the amazing outdoor seating area are very thoughtfully designed and very well executed. The important stuff:The cocktails here are incredibly well made. The attention to detail shines through in the flavors and aromas that hit your palate. The Irish whiskey selection is massive. Being a lover of excellent Irish whiskeys, I was immediately hooked and hopelessly in love the moment I saw the inventory.Like the cocktails, the food is fantastic! The flavors just pop, and the ceviche is the best restaurant ceviche I’ve ever had. (Can’t compare to homemade, but it’s damn close!)My only regret is that we don’t live closer!!
Nice bar! I live in the area and I walked by this place so many times we finally stopped to have some drinks. I regret not coming here before. Their beer garden is nice and surrounded by very nice murals. I love that they have these sketch/journal books going, everyone who visits can add to them. Went on a Saturday afternoon. Very chill and nice out. As we were living a live band or dj was setting up. I want to come back at night as well to experience it.The sketchbooks recommend seating at the bar, the bartenders are cool. Next time I will be doing that.DrinksThey are refreshing. We tried a few and my favorite was the one with passion fruit and chamomile. The old fashion is also a good one. They use different bitters (I assume ) than the usual ones I’ve had, but it’s good. I also like how their ice comes with little herbs/flowers. So cute.StaffVery nice and chill. The bartender is cool!FoodWe only had steak fries but they are yummy! They come with a side of Japanese curry!
We had a great evening at Casement Bar, the entrance is a little discreet and dark but the terrace at the back is where the action is. Great live music the night we were there and awesome cocktails served by the lovely Jean who really looked after us all and made sure we were suitably refreshed. Good Margaritas and excellent guiness. Would recommend to anyone looking for a good night out with friends in a good setting.
The drinks here are obviously good and the vibe is good too. However, the bartenders suck. They created an atmosphere of hostility for me and my friends.I spent the night going to other bars where the bartenders were fun, nice, helpful, etc. But at Casements, the bartenders seemed annoyed to deal with patrons, and generally didnt seem like they wanted to be there working. The staff even interrupted my conversation to make snide comments. When we told the staff they were being rude, they asked us to go outside so they could talk to us...which seemed odd, but then they stuck us with some random busboy who had no idea what was going on (not the staff member who had an issue). Being squirrelly and weak is really pathetic! Its a shame because weve been customers of Casements who supported them in the pandemic…but based on our recent experience Im probably just going to go elsewhere where the people are nicer and more welcoming. It’s crazy that businesses treat customers so rudely who were the people who helped them in their time of need during the pandemic. Can I get my pandemic support money back?!If you want a drink where the staff hovers over you with RBF and becomes an uncomfortable member of your party, go to Casements. But if you want a fun night with chill people and fun vibes, go elsewhere!
Went last night. I was by myself as I’m visiting the city for a golf trip. I was absolutely floored by how good the service was. Kelsie was behind the bar and as busy as she was I never felt for a second I was there hanging out solo. She even gave me great recommendations on where to go for dinner next time I’m in town. Service like this is rare. Kudos to Kelsie and the team behind the bar on 6/26/24
Randomly walked in on a Monday for a drink after having dinner nearby. Mo was our bartender and she was absolutely awesome. She made great drinks so we ended up staying a while. Mo Mondays!!! Will be back
Was visiting from Denver, CO and found this place when walking around the Mission neighborhood. Its dope. They had a live band playing century old tunes in the back patio, it was amazing. The guy on the Clarinet was brilliant! The vibes in the back are exactly what I was hoping to find in the Mission. Drinks are awesome, staff is friendly, it was a good time overall. They even comped us a round of drinks after messing up the first round! Next time Im back in SF, definitely going to go back.
Love the outdoor patio area with heat lamps and solid drinks! We got the “Peas for Bees” and “Lunasa Old Fashioned”. The first sip of the Peas for Bees was incredible but it tasted a lot sweeter (and less good) as we got to the bottom of the drink. Probably wouldn’t get the Lunasa old fashioned again. The music inside is pretty loud but the outdoor patio area was a really nice vibe and not crowded at all. Would definitely come back here to try other drinks in the future.
The friendliest staff in the city work here. Also, a killer cocktail menu and the food was superb, we had a proper Guinness with a beef stew and fresh soda bread and it was absolutely delicious, one of our favorite date night spots in the city!
Divey bar with a great outdoor patio, great cocktails and a rare thing - a properly poured pint of Guinness. Food is tasty standard pub grub and prices all round are reasonable.
They had live music by The Henry Co & we enjoyed ourselves so much! The food was very good as was the service. Well definitely be back!
Great back patio - service was super attentive and I liked every drink I tried, they were well balanced and interesting ( nice that they have a number of hot alcoholic beverages for foggy SF nights)! Only are the spicy fries with onions, peppers and curry sauce which were great! All the food on neighboring tables smelled and looked yummy!
Amazing atmosphere indoor and outdoor! Love the graffiti out back. Gives it a cool vibe. Hopefully they’ll be able to work something out with whoever owns the parking lot.The indoor bar has a cool aesthetic with private booths and tables in a larger open air space in front (livelier convo). Love the raw-ish metal Sputnik light fixtures above the bar. Waitstaff is knowledgeable, and owners/managers great as well.Must try for SF residents and visitors!***For St. Patrick’s Day: go early, put your name down, and head down the street to another locale until there is a table open. There will surely be a long list!
One of the best bars in all of SF! Love Gillian & the whole team. They pour so much heart into this entire space, you can feel it. Fortunate they are in the city, making things brighter :)
Love this new neighborhood bar! Great fries. Clever drinks. Going to make it the new de facto lesbian hangout spot...
We went there for cocktails and bar food with a large group from work. There was live music, and we sat on the back outdoor patio. Good vibes — the patio is tucked off of the street. Nice for groups although the picnic tables only seat 6-8 each. Good service and decent bar food; I recommend the beef stew. I had the French 75 and the Last Word
What a cool patio in the back!!! Little bit of a hidden gem. Drinks were great too
The food is on point. The staff is chill but hard working. The vibe is relaxed cool. A gem in the Mission.
Best espresso martini I’ve had outside of North Beach
Incredible place, incredible staff. The bartenders are super knowledgeable and very friendly. The cocktails are amazing (some of them were even invented by people who work there!) and they always have great beers on tap, including the classic Guinness. The back patio is also a great vibe; the local art and decor offers a contrast from the fancier interior, and there are always cool events and performances by local artists. Some of the food can be pricey but the menu is quite good as far as standard bar food goes, and Ive never regretted getting their fish n chips (the curry sauce is amazing).I really cant say enough good things about this place. If youre on the fence, come check it out.
Super cool bar we always stop at whenever we’re in the mission. Huge cocktail list with local beers as well. Happy hour deals are unreal and the patio is massive with lots of heaters. Inside is small but cool as well. Staff is super friendly and service has always been excellent
First time stopping into this bar on a slow Monday night. It was a cool dark atmosphere, but the service was lousy. It was only me and 3 other people in this bar but the 3 others were clearly this woman bartender’s friends because she was more preoccupied with socializing than serving me a drink. I finished one drink and was waiting to get another one but it was over 15 minutes before this woman even checked in on me. There was a male bar keep that came out and not even he checked in with me because he also joined in their conversation. Got up and left. I’ll try visiting again in the future for the outside area but hopefully these workers improve their service.
Sweet gay bar with awesome, creative cocktails and food. There is a great outdoor space too. Both a covered and uncovered patio. The staff is welcoming and attentive. I wish I would have known this spit was here earlier
Nice to find an Irish bar with decent selection of Irish whiskey! Not to mention Gillian, and her impeccable knowledge of whats on the shelf and more.Came for the happy hour and had the place to ourselves. Great music too. Cheers!
Went with two friends to Casements and had a blast. Our bartender was great and the atmosphere was fun. We ordered Irish coffees and a hot toddy as well as other drinks that were perfect. We would love to come back.
The red drink with the cube (bees pees?) was delicious. Service is average to slightly below average. The cubes are subpar 3/5, neither translucent or square.
Gorgeous Bar/Restaurant. We at first tried to sit in the front because it was sunny, not realizing there is a back patio. The bartender suggested the patio to us and low and behold, live music! The fish and chips were delicious and they have a good selection of Mezcal. I was not a fan of the Peas and Bees drink, it was way too sweet for me. The environment is creative and comfortable and the service was fantastic.
This crew is THE BEST. Friendly staff, delicious cocktails, great beer & the owner is the sweetest.
Had a fun time with friends in the back patio area. DJ music playing on a Sunday afternoon. During a heatwave, but the space was shaded and helped keep us fairly comfortable even as the space got crowded as the afternoon progressed. Ordered the margarita as well as a cider. Also had the fish tacos and fish & chips, both yummy.
Fantastic Irish bar in mission. Great food, try the spice bag and fried mushrooms. One hell of a whiskey selection. Staff are very attentive and friendly, prices are very reasonable.Don’t miss this place when you’re in the area.
Fun bar in the Mission! They have live music if you want to be inside dancing or they have a great, large patio through the back, which is quieter and its very easy to social distance there.I didnt have the chance to try their food but their cocktails were amazing and unique and despite being very crowded, they are quick! We ordered the Peas for Bees (our fave) and the Tequila Ocho. Well be back to try more (and hopefully the food, too)
Finally a place to get a great, creative cocktails that are well balanced for a reasonable price again in San Francisco. While that is a huge draw, the food was also great and the patio was lovely. Will definitely come back!
Whatever your expectations might be for a divey little bar with a back patio in the mission is, this bar will blow them out of the water. The food is good, the servers are fantastic, knowledgeable, and seem to be genuinely happy to work here.
Drinks are good. only gripe i have with this place is that it’s named after a irish nationalist hero, but the maps of ireland inside the bar exclude the northern six counties. a little disrespectful to those who fought for their country against a foreign occupation, in my opniion.
They have a really cool range of cocktails, good food and a nice back patio. One of the few places that has a Hot Toddy on the menu in San Francisco which is a great drink for foggy cold evenings. We missed a live band by a couple minutes but I’m sure that must have been fun.
Lovely indoor / outdoor space with fancified cocktails and delicious bites to eat. The staff always takes great care of us.One day Im going to have a reason to use The Phoenix Room...
Best new bar in SF! So welcoming, friendly, and staff are wonderful. There were no seats inside for a while and our server went over and above to get us comfortably situated. The owner was so hands on and despite being so busy was happy to chat to us about the bar beginnings and plans, all very interesting. Id recommend this bar to EVERYONE, its a serious find!!!
Great atmosphere both inside and in the back with murals decoration vibe. Drinks were inventive yet uncomplicated! DJ set was on point! Worth checking out! Also try the Japanese jerky when its there!
Casements is am amazing bar, with a knockout patio, staffed by top notch folks and driven by people who really care. The cocktails are ever on point, they serve tasty house-made bites and food, they host a variety of music out back (jazz, djs, folk, and so on), and I always feel like I belong. The owners commitment to their Irish roots, community and restorative justice are on display in their vast selection of drinks, spirits and whiskeys from small Irish companies, local distilleries and women and/or BIPOC owned businesses. They also regularly collaborate with local businesses to host bake sales, promote community happenings and source as much of their menu from local businesses as they can.15/10- do reccommend all the time!
Authentic Irish fare and an amazing whiskey selection with a highly knowledgeable staff. I shared my whiskey preferences with the bartender, and she picked two amazing whiskeys that were new to me, but perfectly suited to my palate. Also: dont even get me started about their soda bread. Ill definitely be back for more!
Nice neighborhood bar with lots of characters. Love the curry, fries, fish and chips. Heard the ceviche was good too. Didnt try will get it next time. Drinks are awesome as well.
They have a lovely patio when the weather is right and i look forward to getting off of work and watching the local talent while sipping on some yummy drank!
Carry gluten free beer and have great cocktails. Wish they had gluten free food of some sort, other than that this place is perfect
Love, love, love this place. Recommend to anyone walking down Mission looking for a drink on an amazing sunny outdoor patio. Try the Samhain Old Fashioned. Staff was so welcoming and helpful- which is a change to the normal bar staff in this area. Truly a gem.
My go to bar in the city. Theyve a lovely patio in the back and they sometimes have a live DJ playing too. If you have time — Id recommend you wait and get a table in the back. Love their cocktails, especially the one with chamomile. For food — my favorites were the fried mushrooms and chicken curry.
One of my favorite bars in the city. Great bartenders and servers, fresh beer, especially the Guinness, and really good food. The back patio is a great spot to grab a drink and bite.
As a cocktail nerd and someone who used to work in the spirits industry (and knows a lot of bartenders), I was excited to try this place out. On the positive side, the Irish whiskey collection is impressive and the food menu looked tasty though we didnt order food. However, the bartender soured the who experience for me. Their cocktail menu is meh and features only two drinks with Irish whisky and one is an Irish coffee. I complemented the selection of whiskeys and asked for her recommendation for a cocktail that would highlight one of the whiskeys so I could learn more. Her answer was that a cocktail would dishonor the whiskey...Okay, so its fine to dishonor American whiskies and other aged spirits on your cocktail menu? I then received a dram (not a cocktail) of a whiskey she helped me select, even though I told her explicitly Im not much of a straight whiskey drinker. The days of pretentious service are over, just give good hospitality please.
The mezcal and peas drink tasted like gooey mixer.
Great cool mission spot. Excellent and unique whiskey and gin lists. Some tasty food. Diverse mellow crowd.Outdoor spaces get better and better!Always a great and comfortable time.
Great spot with outdoor patio and screen showing throwbacks
Cool bartenders who make great cocktails. Fun to talk to. Great atmosphere. I did not sit out on the patio, but it looked very nice. I will be back.
Tis a grand aul spot, a modern bar Irish, staff are lovely, grand pints and sure its a bit of craic in the city.
They win the prize for best outdoor seating. Well done and be back soon after I digest the fish and chips. Fresh halibut on Sundays, yes please!
Nice patio in the back. and good food too.
Great place. Wonderful staff. Back yard is very cool to hang out in. Cocktails are spot on.
Excellent place with a large outdoor space! Really wonderful staff. Great food and beer & cocktail selection as well. Highly recommended.
Super yummy filling veggie curry, innovative and delicious drinks, intimate setting inside, and cozy outside back patio. Kool bartenders and staff. Very ❤️🩹
Just moved to the neighborhood. Great craft cocktails in a cozy setting, with a small outdoor patio as well.
Nice bar and patio. But if you want any fried fish, you wont find any in the fish & chips. Lots of batter and chips.
The staff was amazing, the drinks were excellent, and the patio was cute and cozy (even in January!). Definitely will be back!
Good atmosphere and a nice open space out back. Good beer selections. Not too much to eat for Vegans.

Found in the middle of the Mission, with a really cool backyard and great beer options.
Magnificent bar with a discreet front in the middle of a sometimes hostile Mission Street.A haven of peace and Jazzy music in a magnificent patio.Fair price for the area.
Very good atmosphere
Good to share
