We didn’t have a lot of time in San Francisco but wanted to experience this historical gay bar. It did not disappoint these two Scottish tourists. Tuesday early evening so not busy but what a welcome and pleasant few drinks we had. Bernadette (big shout out) on the bar was very attentive, friendly and even gave us a tour and some history of the place and even recommended places to go. Gays please get out and support this venture! Very friendly gay space!

Best bar Ive been to, hands down. The staff are amazing and the atmosphere is friendly while being laid back and hopping at the same time. There are great shows from local artists and performers most nights of the week, and a well stocked pool table for lazy nights with good beer. Shame on you for not giving this amazing business more of your well deserved attention.

I always have a blast when I go. The first time I went they had furry night. Everyone in animal costumes. It was amazing. Nice and dark inside. Cozy corners. 1 closed toilet and a trough for the mens room. Beer prices are avg, drinks r a bit pricey. Nice dance floor. Nice place

Good people. If youre into Drag, this is the bar for you. I enjoy that they have a pool table that is separated by a wall from the stage area. Good for choosing the atmosphere you want, and there are a couple booths for a more intimate hang out session with friends.

We went here Friday night for the burlesque show and drag show. It was a bit disappointing because they both started an hour late, and the drag show was only three girls. But the shows themselves were a lot of fun, and the drinks were well made, although very expensive. Altogether, I would recommend this place, but come late for the shows.

This bar is a San Francisco treasure. Great shows on Tuesday and Friday nights, which push the limits of drag/burlesque/performance art, and some really fun stuff on other nights. Plus karaoke on Thursdays! If youre visiting from out of town, definitely make a pitstop here especially on a Tuesday, Thurs or Fri night.

Im giving it 5 stars, because I just did an online tour, fell in love and Yes this famous transgender woman will be coming to a bar near you. Im coming from Boston Massachusetts (little town called Framingham), I am a Transgender female Activist for GLBTQ community and I came to San Francisco back in May 2016, but unfortunately couldnt find your bar, Im coming, because Im looking for a great place where the Men are and give life along with getting the party started. Im a Celebrity in many ways, youll know when I walk in the door. I know a few Drag Queen Celebrities and famous straight Male, Female Celebrities, so Ill explain everything when I get there. Yes its going to take time to get there, I dont leave land, so Amtrak takes my booty anywhere, see yall soon ☮❤✌💋⚀⚁⚂⚃⚄⚅🕆

One of my favorite bars in the city. A staff full of sweeties, a great line-up of parties, a mixed crowd that will never make you feel out of place. Some Thing, the Friday drag show, is a must-do; it starts at 11PM, and the dancing goes until 4AM usually. The monthly Go Bang! happens here--a super fun retro disco party, which will make you wish more parties at gay bars involved everyone dancing! Look them up on Facebook and come to the next one. Also of merit, Its 5 OClock Somewhere, the drag king show, and Tuesdays Meow Mix, a messy-but-entertaining drag/variety show.

This place became our favorite place to go for a drink in San Francisco while in town for the GDC. Its a co-op owned venue with excellent music, great selection of local beers, an inclusive and friendly community, and bartenders (shoutout to Rachel and Jerry) with absolutely magnetic personalities.

A warm and welcoming pansexual gay bar. Sexualities and genders from all across the spectrum seem to come here and the staff is so friendly and community oriented (and they pour strong drinks!) Thank goodness for this place!

The drinks were okay. This was our first time here and the drag show was only 20 minutes long. It was also not that good. Then after sitting through that horrible experience, the bartender said that we didnt pay for our drinks when I watched the other bartender take the money for them. WATCH YOUR MONEY when come to this place.

Experices may vary I guess. I came here when I was visiting San Francisco. We were supposed to check out a ball that started at 11:30. Paid $12 to get in and had to leave at 12:30 before the ball even started. We were also told we could not get a refund for our money even though they were running behind. If you want to spend all night waiting for something that may happen this is the spot for you.

Expected so much more from the first gay bar in SF. Paid an overpriced cover for a TERRIBLE atmosphere. Overpaid for watered down cheap plastic cup drink (a 3oz version of a popular red party cup). Theyre behind the times in enforcing a cash only policy and overcharging to use the ATM conveniently in the bar. Someone said its because its part of the history of gay culture - but theres a difference between history and being stuck in the past. Would NEVER return. I think people are overcompensating for some imagined nostalgia. The place should have closed down years ago when it was about to go under. Id post a negative review if I could.
