I live in SoMa and I’ve been coming here for years. Absolutely love this spot! There are three levels (the third is VIP) and it’s so fun. Friday nights are my favorite. They usually feature a popular DJ (last time I saw Austin Millz)When I’m with friends that want a more chill experience and sit down, we get VIP so you’re up on the highest level looking over the stage. It’s so cool with sofas and lounges.Definitely a fun spot to go to!
They have 3 levels. The ground level was the most of boring of all but a good way to get quick drinks. The main level had kshmr dj which was amazing. Spacious and can accommodate good number of people. Top floor’s bouncers were little weird they weren’t letting us go downstairs for sometime. But overall a good club and good space.
February 22, 2k19 voyage to SF. I literally did this trip in 24 hrs. I stayed at a random hostle to catch Otis Jackson Jr. Aka MADLIBs DJ set. This was perhaps one of my favorite days of all time. This spontaneous trip took me out of my shell. The hostle was filled with foreigners from different parts of the globe. There was a cool group of Brazilians staying there. I was able to pregame before the show. To my surprise, one hour into the set the mighty Mos Def (now known as Yasiin Bey) arrived spontaneously! Then another hour goes by, and the man, the myth, the legend- DAVE CHAPPELLE ARRIVES! The club didnt stop till like 3am. What a night!!! I got all my records signed and even got daves signature on a classic hiphop album! Lol i snuck on stage 😭 Legendary night for sure! S/o to all my fellow Underground hip hop enthusiasts
This was the absolute worst experience Ive ever had at a club. The security guards were not just rude but downright verbally abusive. One short Hispanic security guard, in particular, was out of control—she refused to let my friends in for no reason at all. When I tried to ask her what the problem was, she started shouting at me and threatened to kick me out before I could even get a word in. Whether she was being racist, sexist, or both, I have never been treated so horribly in my life. Avoid this club at all costs. Youll be paying an overpriced ticket only to be treated like garbage.
My favorite club in SF. Multiple dj rooms, great balanced audio. Bars everywhere (no lines), coat check, clean plentiful bathrooms. great artists and an afters a block away
Roving DJs. Has a great hip hop hop and contemporary DJ on 3rd lower ever.Really fun.Im gay, but no hook ups just music, very straight
2 MEN walked into WOMENS RESTROOM.2nd man went inside the restroom where a brave girl told him to leave and he said shut the F up and told her 🤫making that face exactly and told her you better not talk to me like that basically threatning her. And walked out once he saw she was not afraid of that low life epidemy of a man... this club needs to do better. Especially protect girls more when girls are the reason that club even runs. Those creeps come too meet girls and your most important job shouldnt just be money but protection for girls.
We emailed this venue to confirm it was ADA accessible before buying tickets and they said it was. But the only way to get to the bathrooms was using the stairs. This is not an accessible venue and they lied to get us to buy tickets.
This review is solely based on the security team from 3/1/2024– long story short I was an unprepared idiot at the door and they still accommodated me when they could’ve just told me to leave.. you can tell they’re providing a safe clubbing space!! The club could update their sound system though 😉
Shady bartenders on the 2nd floor. After paying for my White Claw, they pulled the iPad away on the tip screen before I had a chance to select and sure enough, they tipped themselves 30%. Music and venue are still alright but that wasn’t cool so I’ll be bringing in some extra fun next time
As much as the DJ set was good, they kicked out my sister for taking too long in the bathroom. They watched my friend (who is a male) cry at the bar table, but just had to kick out a women for doing what’s normal. 1015 Folsom’s staff need to reevaluate their security system, and recognize nuance and compassion. They were rude and dismissive, and used profane language throughout this whole exchange. This entire dismissal would have gone better if they delivered with rational and compassionate language, rather than one that’s dismissive and apathetic. Drinks were too expensive too, 16 dollars for a vodka redbull was wayyyy too much.
Mainly latin music, not enough variety. They charge 30 bucks (tax) for entry and ($4) for coat check. Never coming back for a below average experience.
Did not let us in the venue even though we had tickets to see Boombox cartel. They scanned our tickets and we were waiting in line to enter the venue, until one of the short Hispanic security ladies pulled us out of the line because we were intoxicated even though everyone in our group was fine. We just had Asian glow - we suspect that may be the reason. But even with trying to reason with her she just smiled and said I have the right to refuse service to anyone. Possibly racially motivated. Do not recommend coming here, since even if you have a ticket they wont let you in.
Always love coming to this place to see a favorite DJ or just kick back on a weekend night! One of SFs best venues.
Ok I’m happily in shock after going to see Jason Ross at 1015 last night! I was there in 2019 pre-Covid and hated the place, but they made MASSIVE improvements! There was plenty of staff at the entrance to get us in quick, super nice bartenders that kept the lines moving, upgraded layout (they took out the drop lights that blocked the stage from upstairs-HUGE improvement), nice clean bathrooms, 2 huge air fans on each side of the stage (I could swear they even had cooling misters which was awesome being packed in front and hot from dancing, but I’m not positive if that was real 😂) but best of all the sound and visuals were AMAZING and a huge upgrade. This just went from my least favorite SF venue to one I wouldn’t hesitate to go back to! Thanks 1015!! 💕
They pack the venue WAYY too much to the point that there’s no space to move or dance. Went there to see Walker and Royce and it was impossible to move around
Well, all the previous reviews about power-trippy security peeps are true and confirmed, but, if you just shut your mouth, nod pleasantly, and dont have any drinks in line, youll be fine. One little comment will get you booted.Note that any event times published are just door open times, not performance start time.Be prepared for massive fog machine activity (where you can taste it) during opening acts... it settles as the night goes by.Decent tix price

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. The absolute worst treatment I’ve ever received at a club ever. They wouldn’t let me into an event that I had already paid a ticket for, with no reason or justification. Security here is on an absolute power trip like I’ve never experienced before, and the owners don’t seem to care in the slightest as seen by the history of similar awful experiences many reviewers have posted before me.
This place is past its prime The type of events they have there dont really appeal it needs new management or our new booker
Dont go here no matter who is DJ-ing; the management sets itself up for failure by letting way too many in with no crowd control and employees will get physical with you and kick you out for staring at them wrong.Been coming to 1015 Folsom and supporting it throughout the pandemic but after tonight, I will never go back. We were so excited to see Ekali return to the bay area after 5 years, but the workers here seriously have no respect for customers who actually care about making things right.Blonde, white bottle service lady named Mary Anne of Eastern European descent had a horrible attitude and body slammed into our group on the dance floor near the VIP section around 12AM. This was after our group was slammed multiple times by drunk people trying to hop the boundary near the VIP section. This time, when she fell into us, so as we righted ourselves up, the person in our group who she slammed into glared at her. She then threatened him and said Dont play with me and quickly went to security who ten minutes later, pulled our group outside. Because we were not given wrist stamps, we were not allowed re-entry.While outside, we were directed to the manager - Josh, a brunette curly haired 511 white male who had been working at 1015 Folsom for 7 years and said that he never had a complaint from her. He told us that we had shoved her and when an employee complains about a guest, they have every right to refuse entry for any reason. Funny to say when while we were waiting to speak with him, we were shoved right in front of their faces by another unruly crowd, but of course while he was on his power trip, he ignored that.We quietly waited our turn to speak with the bottle service lady who had reported us to security. When she showed up, she started her explanation with if you were a woman and a guy glares at you the way your friend did, that would make you feel very uncomfortable. She also said our friends attitude made her feel uncomfortable. We reasoned with her that her fall on our friend actually took down 3 people total, and asked for her understanding that this kind of thing happens at a nightclub and we have every right to be annoyed and to right ourselves up and to glare at her. We also offered to apologize to her after trying to understand what we needed to apologize for but she changed her narrative mid explanation and said that we “did not touch her”, but glared at her in a way that made her uncomfortable. We did not start a fight, did not strike her, and did not threaten her safety. She completely skipped the fact that her fall physically knocked us over while our friends “attitude” left her unscathed. When we asked her what we should have done, she rolled her eyes at us before walking away. Of course, nothing happens when she is giving us a bad attitude under her managers watch.Overall the club lets in way too many people than it can support, which is really the root cause of these issues. Drink lines have long wait times, and when you actually need security or help (there were a few individuals throwing up in plain sight in trash cans on the staircase) they are nowhere to be found. People are pushing, stumbling, slipping, and shoving their way through crowds, and a glare is actually a luxury to receive when you act like a human bowling pin and barrel through a crowd.I hope karma really takes care of this place; looking through reviews, its not the first story about how the security at 1015 Folsom has power tripping behavior. If you find yourself wanting to come here to see a really nice DJ, dont go. Its not worth supporting a business that actively supports its employees to treat their customers like trash, and its just a matter of time before you get binned too.
Worst club ever. It’s such like wasting my time to write a review here . The way that security team treated us yesterday night was so disrespectful. You guys are so rude. Should respect our time and money. We paid for 60$ and couldn’t even go inside with their stupid reasons, decisions and assumptions. So regret that we choose that stupid club to see seven lions event. Dont get too proud in your life thinking that you can do whatever you think. Just try to focus on working to improve the club. Stupid staffs ever.
We showed up for a show for which we bought tickets but we witnessed the venue threw out people randomly for no apparent reason. I would not go again if this is how the management treats its patrons.
We had the BEST time at the club, all because Marianna took amazing care of us. She helped me in the lead up to the night with coordinating our plan and table and when we arrived, took us under her wing and made sure we had a perfect night. The best!
3 floors full of good vibes. Great experience
Fun club experience overall! The main floor was crowded pretty quickly past 11pm. But they have several other floors with different music options, so it helps appeal to different crowds and moods. Each floor has their own bar too so you don’t have to wait in line. The bar tenders downstairs were super nice as well.
If I could rate a 0 for a review I would. The door woman was strict, security check was doing the absolute most. People in the club were being harassed and man handled as if they were being patted down inside as well. Flashing light in people faces. They were profiling people in line, not letting sober people in as well. Almost as if they sold too many tickets cus the club was packed and they couldn’t let in a certain amount of people. Security had too much attitude and took everything personal which contributed to said harassment. In conclusion me and my friends didn’t not have a good time. What happened 1015? I don’t feel it’s worth my time to come into a a venue that acts so improper with its guests. I definitely do not feel it’s an inviting environment.
Absolutely stunning room! Excellent sound system, wonderful staff!
On the Sevenlions after party day, my girlfriend was denied entry to the club by the gate security guard. Because of the weather, my partner was shaking and cold. The security guard(woman guard)at the gate claimed that my girlfriend was intoxicated and blocked her from entering even though she hadnt used any drugs at all. The security guard is far too prejudiced, and the club has to respond to this criticism right away.Additionally, the club was accepting illegal rear entry entries by accepting cash payments. In my opinion, occurred as a result of the club letting more people through the rear entrance.
Been to most SF clubs. Some of the absolute rudest security I’ve encountered ever. Definition of power tripping. Bought a table and the staff was great, the security was not. Stay way. Give your money to a better place
I went for Wax Motif in October 2023 and it was such a VIBE! Immaculate atmosphere and such a fun venue to explore! Id absolutely hit another show here in the future, this place was FUN!
Got denied entry tonight because my girlfriend has an accent so they said she was too drunk to be allowed in. She admitted she had 2 drinks so they took that as an ah-gotcha reason to say she admitted to being intoxicated and they don’t let intoxicated people in. Cool. Thanks. Glad we have a few junior college dropout lawyers on Folsom st making sure everybody is safe. The bartender at Bloodhound said other people got denied too so I wonder if they oversold the concert and this is their solution.
Would give 0 ratings if I could. The security manager kicked me out before getting inside because I was carrying pepper spray and told me to throw it out before I entered. When I asked why I need to throw it out (explained that I feel unsafe as a woman in SF), they told me that its an attitude problem and I need to step out of the line or theyd call the cops to handcuff me.Do not recommend this place for any self-respecting woman. Bouncers and security managers need to understand us and our needs.
Entrance fee $30Always same priceA lot of space and different levels different options security so nice they helping a lot
Be careful when paying by credit card. They did not give you an option for manual shipping amount you must choose to get between giving. 20, 25, or 35% tip every time you get something. This is probably illegal? If you can’t use the tip amount, it’s not really a tip.
I love live music/performances and this venue is definitely one of my favorites. There are different rooms, floors that each have their own vibe, depending on what kind of music you’re feeling. The bars are located on every floor & easy to access which make getting a drink in a crowded venue painless. There are fans in the main room which keep it nice and cool despite all the bodies dancing around. You have a great view of the stage and it’s easy to navigate through the rooms. I can’t wait for the next event here at 1015!
Good but not great, especially considering the drink prices. Ive been coming here since the 90s. The place hasnt changed much. I love that there are several rooms with different music and atmosphere in each. I love that the bathrooms were modernized and are generally VERY clean. I love that they take credit cards at the bar for a single drink.Theres very little security here. No pat-downs. It would be very easy for someone to smuggle in a weapon. Given the security situation around the country, this is distressing.
They seem to be extremely strict about IDs. Im 32, I dont drink and my friend was playing a show, I wasnt let in because the DMV made an error and misprinted the expiration date on my drivers license. The bouncers were quite mean about it too.
The venue was ventilated, but not well enough considering how much smoke was permitted to be produced by concert-goers. I have to say that the weed smoke was uncomfortable for me, but I did see a rap artist who sings about the stuff, so I can’t complain. Bar staff was friendly even when just grabbing tap water. The venue boasts nominal security presence, pat downs, ticket checks, doorman, and security inside the venue. The place sort of had a purple light to it and some nice curtains on the second floor, with I think 3 bars spread across the two story club. The sound quality was superior to some competitors in the area. I would not recommend this venue to the average person, but if you are comfortable inhaling large amounts smoke and being shoulder to shoulder and making physical contact with people in front of and behind you, then go.
Security is the most disrespectful I have witnessed. the actual 1015 team and venue is cool. But my treatment by security is enough to never go back. They get a little bit of power and think they’re hot stuff.
I booked a VIP table about 4 weeks out ahead of the event and everything was downhill from there. The hostess mixed up my request with an event that was happening that week and was extremely pushy about the 2k minimum in every correspondence with me. I get it, you want us to spend money. After promising me that I had reserved the best table overlooking the DJ booth, she calls just hours before on the night of the event, saying she said she had no choice and management had to give the table away to the talent management that was performing that night. Sure...they placed us at the 2nd best table, which did not fit my party size as we watched the talent entourage walk upstairs. And only offered a lower minimum or a comped bottle. She also said she knew about this days before, so why are you telling me hours before entry? Honestly, they probably just promised the table to another party because they are so disorganized or because that party promised to spend more. The only good thing that night was my server, she was the sweetest and made sure our group was doing ok. Beware booking bottle service here. Disorganized, shady, unprofessional.
Love the big space 3 floors so youre never super crowded and cant move, multiple bars so you dont have to worry about getting someone attention for a drink.Good vibes overall and would recommend
Pretty decent nightclub! Multiple dance floors but the main one is amazing! The music was awesome. Drinks are quite expensive so pre game is a must
Bought table 2 bottles and extra tix and were restricted entry to half our group because they were paying for there uber outside the boundary. Do not recommend spending anything more than $200 because our $1,400 meant nothing more than a “we can’t do anything for you, please select a tip between 20-30%
Definitely mastered the sleazy nightclub vibe. Also, to the security guard who takes her job way to seriously and looked through every last corner of my pockets etc. : you are there to look for weapons....if you think you are going to keep drugs out of that place without looking through peoples shoes, bras, underwear etc. You do not understand where you work. But....good job making me go to the back of the line to stash my pills in my shoe. Good job, bravo LoL
One of my favorite music venues / clubs in SF. A lot of big artists perform here when theyre rolling through town, but theres also plenty of new talent putting on shows. Outside of the main floor, there are two (sometimes three) other dance floors to explore during shows. The DJs in the other rooms are usually really solid. Make sure you check their site for upcoming events and buy tickets in advance -- things get sold out early and they dont always have tickets at the door. Drinks are a decent price, the crowd can be fun but sometimes you get some creepy characters (as with most clubs in SF).
First time at this Venue and it was pretty freaking awesome. Had a blast dancing to Shiba San....
Friday February 11 2022, paid $20 for admittance into the club, stamp on wrist. An hour later, my friend messaged me that he couldnt get back inside after stepping outside for a smoke. Confused, I walk out to the designated smoking section to find him. I stepped maybe two meters away from the door, remained inside the barricade, but was suddenly rushed by security telling me I had stepped out into the exit zone, or something, and had to leave. Apparently theres some invisible, unmarked line that youre expected to see and if you cross this line, security throws you out no matter what. I tried to reason with the guards, and when i told them how disappointing this experience was, they replied thats youre problem. This security team is not protecting respecting, sober paying customers. I feel like i was robbed by a gang of power hungry kids eager to flex their, i dont know what. If you go to this club, expect to be assualted their staff. Hopefully other clubs in SF are hiring more respectful security.
Had an awful experience when buying a table over New Years Eve. We get there, spend $1,300 on a table for myself and 5 friends. First off, they waited 3 hours to serve us alcohol......WHICH IS INSANE. There was no mention of that when we were asking them about buying a table initiallyThen, they decided to shut down the area that we were in and move us to another section. However this other section was just 2 disgusting chairs. That would seat 3 people maximum. We then asked for a refund because, they were kicking us out of our section and they refused. Even though we said we wouldve been willing to pay the cover for everyone AND we still had yet to receive any of our alochol
The venue itself is pretty decent. Also pretty big. Multiple floors with various types of music to choose from. The main area got s little hot once packed though. Also, the bartenders were really rude, however, and every time I ordered 1 drink they would try to haggle me into buying more. Only 1 drink? Seriously? Get another for your friend.
Pretty typical club experience. They do have four floors, so on any given night there are multiple acts going, so you can bail on one show and hit up another without ever having to go outside. I was there for a pretty big name, so it was absolutely packed and there were people running into me, but thats pretty typical of going to a rave and doesnt really have much to do with the venue itself. When I went, they even had themed drinks around the headliner of the night, which was a nice touch. They werent ridiculously overpriced, either, which I was pleasantly surprised by, and the bartenders managed to be pretty quick and keep up with the demand and the large crowd. That alone was an impressive feat. The bar is cash only, though. I did read there was an ATM inside, but I didnt look for it, since I came prepared.
One of my favorite venues in the city! Went there for a Passion Pit concert a month back and I had a great time. What I especially like is the space. There are multiple bars and dance floors on each level of the venue (when the whole place is opened up). I heard people complain about the long wait for coat check, but I just hid my jacket underneath the upholstery. I liked how easy it was to get a drink (just have to go to the far end or second floor of the building). The lights were really captivating and the sound was spot on.
The venue itself was fine pretty big, I went to see a dj I liked other than that I don’t go there. The drinks are definitely overpriced, small and weak. I would recommend pre gaming elsewhere. I’ve been out all over the Castro and they make the drinks stronger, better size and cheaper. They are also deceitful show was advertised till 3AM and they ended at 2:20AM a lot of people were upset.
Ive been to the venue a few times during special events with RAW Natural Artists and once for a New Years Party with Thundercat. Ive never neen there on just a regular weekend, so I cant really speak to the quality of usual service, but I can say that its a great space with lots of room- you can choose to be in the middle of the action or spread out if you prefer. They offer multiple bars, dance floors and lounge areas. Ive had great experiences there!
Absolute terrible club with no respect for their patrons. Expect to get milked for money and then treated like cattle. Audio quality is terrible. I really dont understand why people go here.
Quite the experience! Pull up, get out, and get on the dance floor!
Used to be my favorite venue. Things changed..
Came here for bottle service with 20 friends on Halloween. Ive never before encountered staff who are as rude, aggressive and entitled. Even the bouncers were extra and made us feel like cattle. When we finished 3 x $400 bottles of grey goose, we asked our server how much another costs and she said well, it depends on how intoxicated you are. (??????) I get that some people are clowns at bars, but my group was polite and reasonable despite being treated like children. Would never, ever go back.
No matter how good the event looks don’t come to this place. No crowd control, staff is rude and don’t care about customers. They want you to buy a ticket and deal with their horrible management.
Saw Freddie Gibbs here last Friday and the staff were extremely rude. They disclosed they’d be enforcing masking but that clearly wasn’t the case. This place will become a super-spreader event, better to support venues that are actually responsible.
1015 could be a hit or miss. The line to enter is always long, but moves at a surprisingly fast pace. Love that theres no dress code but the ventilation sucks and so does the cash only bar. The venue itself is pretty large at 3 floors but more often than not, its packed way over capacity making you feel more like youre in a sardine tin rather than a club. They consistently book good acts and most times the tickets are pretty affordable, but by reading other peoples reviews, its not really worth it if youre trying to watch a special performer. Seeing djs here are okay, but anything else that they try to pass off as a concert, special performance, etc. will probably cost you an arm and a leg for maybe only 20-30 minutes of actual singing/rapping/what have you.Overall, this place isnt bad if youre lucky enough to wind up here on a good (read: uncrowded) day. Fair warning though, I have heard that a lot of peoples things get stolen and/or cars get broken into. My word of advice would be to skip bringing a purse and just hold onto your phone the entire time and also to park somewhere else in SF or even Daly City and just Uber/Lyft in.
Security takes their job way too seriously. Denied me entry for drinking an energy drink outside the line of the club, happened to others as well. Claimed “the sfpd is staking out the club” so drinking from a can, before getting in line, is too much of a liability risk for them. Bought a ticket and everything, very frustrated.
The best place to catch international world class djs. A great sound system, multiple levels and rooms with different genres, several bars making strong cocktails. Prices for drinks can be somewhat pricey, but it is a nightclub, so dont be cheap. I have seen almost every top dj in the world here over the past fifteen years, and have had some of my very best nightlife experiences and events here. Everybody is welcome, dress to impress or keep it cool and casual. The music is what everyones here for. Highly recommended.
Nights out on the city @ 1015 always heat up & never let down. we always love catching our favorite artists performing here. the venue is spacious, diverse, & has multiple access points to drinks. the staff has always been cool & provided a safe environment for fun & entertainment. when we need to shake it off, we know we can rely on 1015 to provide the experience we need. 😎💫
Pretty good club. Huge sound system, strong but expensive drinks, fun people there, bouncers were chill. Negatives are the neighborhood and the overwhelming amount of cigarette smoke in the main room (thought that was banned in SF? guess not).
I don’t like playing favorites but after so many incredible nights at 1015, it’s my most visited and most enjoyed. Best vibe, best crew, best club music. Its proper lit, fam
Consistently the worst club in sf. Shame ok artists play here. Expect to be disappointed by ever step. Crowd. Drinks. Staff. Lights. Sound.
Coming from New York this place has a similar vibe to Webster Hall. Its a great spot with a fun young crowd and always has some of the top artists in the country coming through for shows. I highly recommend checking out any of the four rooms always packed with live music and adult crowd of young, hip, attractive people. I came here for a Mr Carmack show which is off the chain for Halloween. Make sure if you sign up for the event list so you can know when whos coming through it and make sure to get your tickets early, always sold out. The one thing that I will say is that they need to upgrade their game in the technical department because theres no reason to have as many sound malfunctions as they do.
Love dancing to house music in the main room here. Great sound system. I recommend getting there early to avoid lines. Young, attractive crowd, at least for electronica shows. Wish they had ginger beer for Moscow mules.
Very spacious venue with 3 floors and 4 main rooms and multiple bars. Upstairs lounge room has seating. Unfortunately because it can hold so many people, it can get crowded too. Downsides are restrooms are very very dark (ladies, bring a LED finger light!) and bar is cash only.
The venue does not look as big it looks on the pictures at all . The line was quite long, but we got in about 30 min which is quite good. Entrance is $20 per person, and the drinks were pricey. The excitement quite poor, music fairly average, and overall entertainment was boring. Sorry, but it is what it is. We gave it a chance to pick up, but cut our losses and left in 30 min. We went to another bar on Castro district, and man, that is where the real party began.
The club was awesome, three rooms, two of which were smaller, different styles of music. The main room had amazing sound and lighting. Only complaint was they over packed the place, but, what can you expect?
Not the best NYE experience. We paid a lot for a show that was waaaayyyyy oversold. The place was crowded and not managed very well. The alcohol selection does not cater whatsoever to wine drinkers. Ive been here before for a less crowded show which is why Im giving 2 stars as opposed to 1.
I have never been to a club before, but I was looking for more seating. They have a cool multi area set up, but the balcony gets full very quick. Paid 7 for a Stella just for reference.
A waitress felt on our group and we got ejected by security because she did not like my look at her 😅 We did not touch her. I am still confused by what happened
I was really excited to see 2 of my favorite DJs - Prefuse 73 & RJD2 on a Friday night. Ive honestly had some good times here in the past, but not this night. They absolutely over sold the show to the point where coat check & bathroom lines were 20+ mins long and it took all your strength to push and pull through the crowd. The music might have been good but I had no idea since my friends and I were so crushed in the back corner that there was no way to possibly get to a good vantage point to listen to it. And forget about dancing, it was mostly just being jammed between sweaty random people. I definitely recommend not ever going here for anything popular. Classic example of party promoter greed trumping quality club experience. Thumbs down!
One of my favorite venues to see DJs at, they have 3 floors consisting of multiple rooms and djs, with 1 main stage.
Pretty unprofessional took my ID said it was expired even though it was not. I had to correct him multiple times saying you’re looking at the date of issue not the expiration date and finally after the manager looked they let me in. No one was dancing when we got in :(
Came here for the first time to see Twista perform. Free concert. The place is very big and spacious. Theres two rooms. They play pretty good music, top 40s and the DJs ar really good. One thing that I hated was the bartender there, worse experience ever. There was a guy that looked super old, with glasses and he was just super rude and said they didnt take cards.
Mediocre venue. Gets packed and fun in the main space, but there are too many sub spaces that it feels over capacity. Probably a good place to see a concert that has a few significant acts but pretty bad if there is only one headliner.
1015 Folsom boast 4 dance floors, several bars, vip lounge spaces and an atm. I have been here twice; once for an art show and the second to see Paul van Dyk. My review is for my experience for the latter. The reasons that I did not like this venue are:- The bar that I went to on the top floor was cash only, not sure if all the bars are cash only since I didnt bother checking them out, and I dont like cash only joints.- When the main dance floor got packed, the place got hot quick. Sweaty bodies everywhere bumping into you, yuck! There was no AC in the building and to compensate for the lack of AC the foggers would turn on for a long period of time, cooling you down quickly but then making the place humid.- No wooden dance floor on the main floor so after dancing for a few hours, my legs started to get sore. Maybe Im spoiled, but I prefer places that has wooden dance floors such as Ruby Skye.- Im sure that this does not happen every night but the sound engineers appeared to have technical issues getting Paul van Dyk set up and ready for his set. They took half an hour of messing with the equipment to get him up and running.Would I come back to 1015 Folsom? More than likely not unless it was for a friends birthday, another art show, or if there was a DJ that I really wanted to see.
I just satisfaceMy self when Im there❤️
Spent a grand here. Security came up to my friend and threw away their beer at 1:45 because they refused to chug it. That type of binge drinking culture gets our society in trouble.
Packed club for 20 somethings, loud DJs spin into the wee hours for the ravers. Long lines wait to get inside, especially on the weekends. Drinks are pricey, but most of the clientele is not drinking in the club. Most people walk to public transit of Uber as they stumble away after a fun night of dancing.
BEWARE of phone thiefs. My girlfriend and another friend had their phones nabbed the same night a few weeks back. We asked the staff and they handed us a well-worn binder filled with names and contact info. They said phones are stolen at a clip of up to 30/week at the venue.Would be 5 stars otherwise. This multi level club is a great place to see up and coming or pseudo underground electronic/hip-hop artists.
I went here for a Ghostly International party and it didnt dissapoint! The music was pretty balanced and the drinks were better than I expected. I love that anyone can walk in with casual attire. Other spots in SOMA are definitely not so lax. One thing that peeves me is that tickets off of Eventbrite need to be printed out and brought to the venue. Whats with that? If its on our cellphones, it should be accepted. Kinda lame.
The club is fine, but the staff are awful. From bouncers to the manager, unbelievably rude, shamelessly creepy... unlike anything I have ever witnessed before. Do yourself a favor and go to Audio, or anywhere you can that isnt here.
I always end up at 1015 Folsom for the fantastic artists who are consistently drawn to this club. While the sound system is incredible, the club itself could do more to appeal to a more discerning crowd. Perhaps the crowd here is a reflection of what SF has become, but the drinks and prices could be improved if they had the desire.
On Friday 3/15/2019 I was assaulted and falsely imprisoned by the staff at 1015 Folsom for over two hours, handcuffed and dragged into a locked room. This is not a joke, and legal action is being taken as we speak. At approximately 1:30am I approached the coat check area in the basement level of 1015 to retrieve my wifes jacket. Unfortunately, she had misplaced the coat check ticket, and they told us to get lost. I asked if I could speak to a manager about the process of retrieving a coat if a ticket had been misplaced. They instead got the club security who asked me to come outside with them. I stated that I would stay put until I had a chance to speak to the manager. (Its important to note that I was not intoxicated as I intentionally was not drinking to wake up early to go rock climbing). At this time, the security grabbed me, forced me to the ground, and handcuffed me. All of their weight was placed on top of me, and I could hardly breathe. They then carried me out of the club and sat me down on the sidewalk curb where they insisted that they had contacted the police. After 45+ minutes I was still handcuffed and began shouting where are the police, please someone call the police. Once I started this call for help, they again tackled me to the ground and then dragged me into the VIP ticket entrance that was no longer in use. They carried me by my arms behind my back, which has resulted in a torn rotator cuff on my left shoulder. They did this to hide their actions from the public. Once in the room, I was kneed in the chest, laughed at, and mocked. They had a body camera that was supposedly on the entire time. My lawyer will be working to retrieve this footage.I sat in this room for another 1 hour plus before the police finally showed up. The cops immediately un-handcuffed me and collected the information on what had happened. By this time it was approx. 4am.The staff at 1015 began to make up a story of me trying to break into the coat check (this did not happen and should be on camera). They then told the police that they would be willing to let me go and not press charges for trespassing. I refused this offer as I fully intended their actions to be made public through a public court case where I knew they would end up in serious trouble for their actions. Even after stating I would instead prefer to have them charge me, they refused.1015 refused to press charges to prevent a collection of evidence right then and there by the police as they knew what had been done was not only illegal but would risk the closure of their business.I will be pursuing legal action against 1015 Folsom in order to get the footage that was taken this night of the assault, handcuffing and unlawful, false imprisonment out to the public.Injuries documented: Split lip, two cut fingers, bruised wrists, bruised knees/legs, torn rotator cuff on left shoulder. If you have information or additional footage from this night, please reach out to me.
I love this place. I saw samiyam, Schlomo (I think I spelled that wrong, sorry!!! I always spell it wrong . ) and countless other artists, probably too many to name. Its great to see so many of them get big.. When I put out a wonky beats packband also J Dilla-inspired beat samples, I thought it was something niche. Turns out , by a different name , that, beat-scene, (I hate that name, I still prefer Dilla Style, lol, but whatever, beat trax, or even glitch hop, or even just, edm, even though I wouldnt call madlib kinda stuff edm, nor would a lot of folk, but I digress, so, whatever, I enjoy so much of the music here. Lol. ) its played here so much more than I ever thought Id see. Word up GHF! Hey Dewey db.This place is the best club Ive ever been to.
Usually ok but already had couple bad experiences with staff. They’re rude at the entrance and don’t seem to have any kind of customer service
This is one of the best venues to check out underground music. They feature artists like Tokimonsta, Flying Lotus, and other hiphop/electronic type of music in one room while TOP 40 in the other room. They have plenty of bathroom stalls so you wont have to wait too long.
There was a terrible bouncer who discrimated against POC, women and students. The atmosphere is terrible, wouldnt recommend,if the bouncer is white I wouldnt bother at all.
Flew from Portland to see Alex Grey, Thriftworks and The Polish Ambassador and was not disappointed. Amazing club, 4 massive rooms, killer sound system, awesome lights and other effects. This place puts Portland clubs to shame.
Security here is on a power trip. They seem to enjoy harassing club goers outside after theyve left the club for no good reason
Saw shigato here some time ago. okay venue for some off-beat music but has kind of a weird and unsafe vibe. lots of congestion in various areas and poor ventilation. overall many better venues in the city
Lol this is a funny place guy asked everyone for ID, Skipped me then proceeded to asked everyone else for ID and the excuse was I didn’t had my ID out in which I definitely did. Not trying to pull a race card but when I said something the guy wearing who is doing admissions didn’t even acknowledge me at all.. if you are coming here and you are a minority I hope your experience is different from mines and you are treated as a human than to be ignored.
I used to come to this place a bunch and had fun but when I went here for the dead & co after party 12/28/15 I had such a bad time I felt obligated to share. I was waiting for a band to start and wanted to go out for a smoke and the smoking section was so packed I somehow crossed some invisible line and was not allowed back in even tho lots of ppl had seen inside and some of my friends went outside the smoking section and were let back in.
I been here several times and I never had problems with the dresscode. I guess they changed it and now they dont allow people in with plad shirts and dark blue jeans. Unless you pay a little something to security. This place is not worth dressing up with ties and slacks. I will never go back. And I will tell my friends to go elsewhere.this place is sorry
Fun dance club experience, be sure to go when a favorite artist/dj of yours is performing there! They have two different rooms which play different music and an upper level.
This place is the right place to jam out and have an amazing time! Everyone is super energetic and nice. The music always gets everyone up and dancing. If you are trying to have a fun night, this is the place to go!
Fine as a club experience, but they called my friend’s ID fake because he’s from Alabama and has an Alabama driver’s license—he’s 25.
My husband and Is favorite venue for a dancing night out in the Bay Area. The venue is spacious, centrally located, and easily accessible by public transit.
Super shoddy venue, and very poorly run management. Doesnt matter who they end up booking, the layout of the place is just awful that it ruins any show.Spend your money elsewhere.
I go here more often than I would like because the acts are often good. I like having a lot of rooms to move between, too. But its often full of bridge and tunnel crowds.
When 3 floors are opened for a New Years Party, the time spent here is unforgettable! Lots of room to dance and have fun.
Went with a group of friends and because of the web site I though it was going to be a nice place, why you put strictly enforce dress code, when theres people inside with jeans, or a guy with a red polo, or lots of girls looking like a hooker, bad experience and the securities think they owe the place they should be train and know they have a job because of people that go there and they treat them bad, they only good thing I can say is the girl at our table give us a really good service, so dont go if you do.t want to be disappointed, this is not an upscale club like the web site said.
1015 always has the latest events happening. They have great underground musical artists like Free The Robots, Shlohmo, and the likes. They also have monthly events like Low End Theory. This is the place to get your music on.
The basement feels cooler than the main area. There are awesome lights in the ceiling. The bathroom and ATM are only upstairs, though.
I went to zedd’s concert. The drinks were extremely sugary and diluted. Bartender was rude. Zedd played only for 30mins
This is your standard nightclub fare. nothing in particular is very noteworthy, but the venue provides a real enough facade of excitement for most patrons to get too wasted to care.
Terrible sound system. Mids are way off (muddled) and heavily distorted bass. I am surprised great artists are coming here to put on their music.
San Francisco best entertainment venue, best custom sound systems, state of the art lighting and visuals, friendly bar staff, great for dancing and epic stage shows with djs.
This club is cheap fake drinks secuirty incharge DAVE is races and mean in this country people shouldnt be races i love usa i move here 10 years ago i think this city is awsome but after getting that kind of treatment from Dave hes a incharge at 1015 club PURA night club very bad now
Do not subscribe to their emailing list. They will never let you unsubscribe and you will get emails everyday. They think they are very smart by doing this but I am taking measures to make sure it doesnt happen to other people. All my attemps to reach them with this issue did not work.
Favorite club/bar in SF. Great DJ choices with multiple dance floors. Make sure you bring cash for drinks
Worst Security. Manhandled women for no reason. Injured people in the group. Broke a nail and lip.
This place is pretty large. The line may seem like its too long but it moves fast. Three different levels with a lot of bars.I would recommend checking it out.
THIS PLACE LOWKEY SUCKS!! WHY THEY GOT ONLY 2 FLOORS OPEN ON A FRIDAY AND BOTH FLOORS with the same genres?! TBH THIS PLACE IS A HIT OR A MISS...
Great club, sometimes its a little oversold (crowded) but they book popular acts and the Multi-Level space with a variety of rooms can be really fun.
I wish there was a club like this in Sacramento. Great staff, awesome artists, chill patrons.
Cool venue for DJ and live music shows. Fun for events. Usually same line for presale and ticket purchase === long wait.
I asked for a water for my girlfriend. The bartender tried to charge me $8 and then became confrontational when I disagreed. Great venue, terrible staff.
Really awesome Powerful Lighting and Sound Systems, the Club Technological Effects are Legendary.always miss if i am go anywhere else.
House of the underground bass music scene and a lot of electronic music genres there’s two stages
Venue is ok. Bartender upstairs was rude all because I asked for a cherry vodka sour...theyre not hard to make. Dont see myself coming back.
This clubs security assualted me just for trying to find my friends. Kicked and punched me and ripped my shirt and management wouldnt do anything about it except just chase me away for complaining. Be wary going here.
Great venue with multiple rooms, upstairs, downstairs and a main floor. Some pretty good performers come through.
One of san franciscos biggest semi-underground electronic music venues, they get a lot of great artists coming through and have some nice soundsystems to hear them with.
Nice interior, love having multiple floors, good music, but sooo crowded. They let way too many people in.
If youre a woman that likes being nearly abducted while security does nothing but watch, come here!
Great artists, but the setup was just awful: boring warm-ups, overbooked main floor and the set was not even one hour long :-/
Never had a had a crappy time...10 out of 10 would go back.. well known artists from around the world performances here
Great music, great atmosphere! CASH ONLY!!! Do yourself a favor and bring cash because the ATM lines can get ridiculous
Security is the worst. Are on extreme power trips. Need to be retrained and/or replaced
The club was disgusting. When was the last time yall washed the railings?? 😖 Everything was sticky.
Had so much fun there, four dance floors, salsa, bachata, merengue, regueton, hip pop, rock en español, awwwww.......!!!!
Wear your mask in here, a lot of people dont wear theirs and they pack you in like sardines, pre covid style. Not coming back here again.
They have great DJs, but the space is a bit impersonal. Frequently over-crowded.
So crowded... unless you go on a night when the main act is a semi-obscure Swiss DJ like Cyril Hahn.
Cool spot they have really good old school music nights from time to timeDrinks arent all that cheap but its quick!
Would give negative rating! Worst experience with security.Never going back!
They discriminate based on how you look even if you meet the dress code. They pick and choose whom they let in.
Saw a great show, and enjoyed the various music in the three rooms.
Cool layout, good sound system, totally friendly staff. It gets hot inside.
Weirdos. Drunks. Loud heavy music. Loud bass. Different acts. Up stairs. Down stairs. Main Floor.
Ужасное место - вы не можете выйти просто покурить - потом вас не пустят , охрана грубая , персонал - дно .. да и место ужасное ..(Translated by Google)A terrible place - you can’t go out just to smoke - then they won’t let you in, the security is rude, the staff is the bottom .. and the place is terrible ..
Multiple dance floors and good selection of music at each dance floor.
Good music, 5 different floors all with its own bar
Terrible club, awful security. Avoid at all costs
Sound system was mid af for Tokimonsta. 🚮🚮🚮
Saw Buraka som Sistema here. Place was packed and people were friendly! Maybe a bit expensive.
Pretty cool place to go but sometimes they may oversell the venue
Best Place in Town !!! .... They might wanna get younger NARCS though coz they all stick out like a sore thumb ....
Great place to see a show. Expensive location and for compared to the other night life in SF
Plenty of room and friendly staff. The venue is great
Great sound system, and some of the best shows in the city.
Despite what my friends told me about this place, I really enjoy it. Multiple levels of fun :)
**pink Amsterdam.Video arcade must stand up.Morning shift guy is an ass hole.
One of SFs biggest clubs. Beer about 7$. Cash only!
Awesome night club. Great music. Friday and Saturday nights.
Nothing but the best of vibes with friends here at the 1015 Folsom. Great spot.
I tried to ask the dj to play some alesso he said we dont play that type of music
Have good quality and Lowe price
They overcrowd this placece to the MAX. I know this is a club, but seriously...Its hard to do anything in here with so many people.
They messed up the countdown timer on new years eve....
I went to see a live DJ set and it was amazing!
Amazing. Massive. Top Notch. World Class DJs. Dont miss out!
The default after-party dj set location for electronic artists who play SF
The city’s temple of dance.
Went to watch Claptone. Could not hear anything but the bass.
I had rhe best time ever the time i went was so much fun
Its ok but didnt like that the bar closed super early
I liked the downstairs area more than the upstairs area.
Hello thanks Mr Fred whos the manager at pura nice place fun
Great venue. Clean. Great sound system. 😊
You will wait 30min in line, plus General Manager is not nice
Great club
The worst club in Bay Area
Bouncers were d*cks at the end of the night.
Small but good vibes
