Came on a sunday afternoon to do a little work and hang out. a great neighborhood gem that’s cash only. friendly bartenders, tasty beers and delicious food for an amazing price!! the patio in the back is a great spot to chill and catch up with friends. would highly recommend!burger with tater tots was only $13 total! a solid burger with tasty tots (although a little over fried) but def worth it
There are so many great places in San Francisco and this is definitely one of them. Come as you are. Everyone who comes here is cool in their own way and I just love the overall vibe.Made a pit stop here after the big wheel race and there was an indie guitar singer doing her thing. A bit cramped but gotta appreciate that ambiance every now and then. Grungy bathroom, open patio area with sounds, loudness and again cool kids. Yummy snacks but the line can get hectic. Dont be rude, tip your bartenders and come here and just be.
Cool spot for live music. Is anyone else* still wondering why folks go to bars to socialize amid all the intense & chaotic white noise generated by speaking, yelling, applause & performers on a Loud microphone (?)I get it.This is not an orchestra hallHowever,I suggest learning basic Resonance testing for optimal transmission of more audible soundings;)6/1/2024
Love getting a draft beer with tots! They host lots of cool events each month- bands, movie nights, a pop up flea market, etc! Cash only
100% San Francisco. Fantastic music, beer selection, and general vibes. One of my favorite bars in the city
The best photo booth in San Francisco. Also the hottest bartenders! Yeehaw! Do you guys still serve croissants in the morning? Before the pandemic I was a regular and you used to have THE BEST croissants and they always sold out!
I had a really fine time here with friends seeing a rock show.Everything we ate was made to order and delicious. The sound person here did an amazing job for all the bands.
A wonderful dive with great outdoor patio. Food is solid, and beer selection is quality. Can get VERY loud when its full, but its quite pleasant with an average crowd
Had lunch here one day and even though I liked it, it was way too greasy I had to take some tea afterwards. Thanks to the staff for being so kind though. I might only come back if i dont have another option lol. I cant really say much about the drinks/bar portion, but I always see a large crowd right outside so its very popular.
I was going to Starbucks on Prospectv and Hertz but Peets is far superior. They keep the place super clean. Minus one star for some wobbly tables.
A historic all cash bar with a cool vibe. Their food is really good too!
A good selection of drinks, and a casual beer garden setting in the back, but the food options and quality are both lacking.
I personally come here for good coffee in the morning, but the events look super cool. Love the atmosphere
Their kitchen was once a go-to for me, but recently it has been unreliable due to renovation or just not serving their entire menu. What a disappointment.
Super cool place but it is cash only! Strong drinks & great food
Fun place with good drinks, friendly staff, and rad live bands!
My favorite dive bar. Enjoy this place so much, I had my retirement party there with about 80 guests. Management met all my requests, drink tickets, arm bands, my favorite music, wrangling 3 bands that night. Food is very good. They use quality meat. Try the carne asada tater tots. Appetizer platters were good too. The fruit on the fruit and cheese platters was sweet, not like some places that serve unripened fruit. Bartenders are pleasant and good mixers. Great party hosts.
Best Bar in San Francisco hands down. Best venue in San Francisco, hands down. This is not only my living room but where my soul is nurtured. I love the staff and the owner is one of the most dynamic people who has fought so hard to keep San Francisco’s legacy of Punk and live music strong. There’s one thing they can’t take from us and that’s Thee Parkside. 💋
Has indoor and outdoor seating. Lovely outdoor seating with picnic tables. I had a margarita and fries and the fries were good but I dont know about the other food they serve although they had a nice menu
Went here for Heavy Psych Sounds fest. the staff were super helpful and kind. the price for beer was great and they had an excellent patio. The food is incredible (think bar food, but worth the trip as opposed to an afterthought)
The food was tasty but the ice tea was small. There is no table service and cash only. The atmosphere was comfortable and visually interesting. Ill be back next time Im in SF.
Great, fresh food in a nice interior patio. The burgers were cooked perfectly and the fries were nice and crispy. The bar and bathroom appear to be a little divey, but dont let that discourage you from having some really good food! Ill for sure go there again when Im in the area.
Cant beat it. Great food, huge portions, good beer, and a casual environment. Plus, it is all priced right. We go here every other week after our games to enjoy some beer and snacks.
Small venue but seems big because of the different areas including the bar, indoor club, patio area near the food window and a larger outdoor area around the corner and even seats on the sidewalk. Its a cool place, not hipster or bro, good mix of people and ages.Food was very tasty.
Went specifically for a sold-out show. Very crowded in the bar area. Very very hot to the point of uncomfortable and had to step out to the tables and food “garden” area which was very quiet but still able to hear the band play a little. Decided to order from the posted menu. Don’t remember what out was called, basically French fries with steak fajitas on top. Super yummy and large portion. Really good. Staff (including bar area) was cool and friendly and helpful. Great time. Street metered parking is all around but had to make several loops before finding anything available.
Great shows, great tots - and burgers. Friendly staff! One of the few SF neighborhood spots where parking isnt an absolute headache; in fact i would say most of the time its easy
Great place! I will keep coming back.
This place is great for SO many reasons: the awesome location/proximity to the park, the friendly bartenders, the cool back patio space (which my dog loves) - but my favorite thing about Thee Parkside is that they have THE BEST BREAKFAST BURRITO IN SF. Seriously. They are so delicious. Go get one!
The vibe is chill and its a cool place to hang out
Great hangout / neighborhood joint.Wonderful patio, great spot to just chill, grab a burger and a beer.Highly recommend Sundays when they do brunch and twangy music.Dont forget to check out their concert calendar. They get a surprising good lineup.
Thee Parkside is true to itself. One of if not the best punk rock venues in San Francisco. It is proud to be a dirty dive bar. The staff is helpful and good at their job. Trivia night once a month is a lot of fun. If you havent seen a show at the Parkside you need to. The food is surprisingly good. Elevated bar food done well often with an Asian spin. Its dirty and kind of gross in some ways but really just has the charm in this case.
This place has great food for cheap. Don’t be tricked by the front bar!! There’s a hidden back seating area past the exit sign. Seems dark and quiet, but you walk in and find a great environment!
Awesome place to grab a beer and sit outside with friends, or catch some live punk rock. They do brunch with live music on Sundays, fairly family oriented affair. If its a super hot day the outside kind of turns into a greenhouse, but theres usually at least a breeze. Coffee bar on site. Dont miss the cajun tots from the kitchen out back!
Good beer selection, big outdoor patio (dog friendly). The food is typical for a bar - we go after work for the tater tots. Nice for an after-work drink, but a bit on the dive-y side.
Almost dont want to write this review because I dont want it to get overcrowded but my better conscience wins.I live in potrero hill so this is my go-to (dive bar). Its one of those places that will delightfully surprise you. You expect very little when you first enter, but head towards the back, through the hallway, and youll end up in the coziest back patio where they serve awesome bar food.Get the tots.Pet the cats.Drink a lot.
I love Thee Parkside! Its the best local mid sized venue to see live bands, that ALSO has a patio and food! Great, friendly staff, with an unpretentious, down-home vibe that reminds me a little bit of Austin, TX., which is a high compliment! Ive been coming here for years and have NEVER had a bad time!
One of my favorite spots - over time a lot of good places have been closing in SF and luckily this one is still here. Good food, good music, good venue. No frills and overall a good environment every single time Ive come here.
Forever my favorite bar in the city. Nothing better than having some mid-day carne asada tots and hangs on the back patio. Or a wild show at night. Or just good vibes with the best people. Special place.
Wonderful dive bar with spacious back outdoor patio and food counter for munchies. Cash-only bar with friendly staff and great pours. Spacious enough for group parties, and small stage for a DJ or band.
Nice patio, reasonable burger with tater tots, beer.
Cool venue. Very small though. But creates an intimate environment. I didnt get any food but I heard its good. Decent priced beers. Nice outside area to catch some fresh air or just chill. Id definitely come back.
My favorite bar in San Francisco by a mile. It feels like one of the last punk bastions in SF. Awesome food, great tap selection, built-in coffee bar. Great live shows. Great brunch spot.
One of the best small bars in the city. Visit for a drink or a show. Smaller older punks bands play relatively often. Cheap drinks with a variety of different beers and liquors. The restaurant part of the bar has good cheap food.
I go here to see bands and its a great venue. Cool vibe, cool staff and that wall of Tom Selleck is sure to delight!Seriously tho, they also have great bar food and parking is always super easy.Ive been here for sold out shows where its waaaaaay to GD hot in there but otherwise, one of my fave venues. And they arent jerks if you sneak a toke inside, they ask you to stop...just go out on the sidewalk to blaze, no big whoop.
Classic Pot Hill venue....not many joints like this in S.F.
The Parkside is such a reflection of the real San Francisco. Super friendly welcome. Quick service. Excellent burger with pickled red onions. And tater tots. Beer and cocktails too. Order and eat outside at tables, or run across the street to the park, spread your blanket and feast. And tater tots.
Great casual venue for live entertainment. Great patio and a small kitchen that offers snack food like tots and cheese and other bar grub. The only down side is the flow when they draw a large crowd for a band. You cannot get around the tables and people to get to or from the bar. There is no bar on the patio so you are trapped trying to navigate the insanity. That ends with the easiest option of simply not going to the bar at all. I would assume they are losing a lot of money because I see others opting out as well.
Awesome place for dating, not recommended for partying.Friendly neighborhood bar with a kitchen. Bartenders there cant hang though, even the bar got live music sometime but when a group of people gets too loud they cut anyone off from that group. I was trying get a beer after only 2 shots, but they wont serve me a beer only because one of 2 groups of people I was with. All I wanted just get a beer and chill in the back chat with other friends. So, if they dont like you or your friends, they wont ask you to leaving, but might cut you off. Due to they got the right to do so for your safety!
One of the last good dive bars in SF. Out of the way for most and it keeps the rif raff out. Cash only with good prices. Good place to sit at the bar or outside and have a beer and shot special.Add on: the food is pretty damn good as well and definitely worth trying out while you down a few in the covered outdoor area.
A bit dive bar in the front, but head to the back and youll find a great enclosed area with picnic tables. Its a perfect local spot to meet with friends after work. A solid beer selection, pretty good happy hour prices, and some decent bar food (carne asada toys are a must!)
The food is one of a kind. They have a wonderful menu selection and the prices are very affordable here too.
My friend that I went here for an early dinner, and I had planned on having a pastrami sandwich. But, they had run out of pastrami. So, I settled for the pulled pork barbecued sandwich with french fries(hadnt planned on ff 2 days in a row) and coleslaw (on the sandwich).Between that, and the beer, everything was delicious.
I love this place! Ive never had a bad experience while hanging out here. Food is great, prices are right, and the staff is super friendly. They also have a back patio which is such a treaty, specially here in S. F. I highly recommend it!
I guess a fine bar, the photo booth with charge you $7 (yes…..$7) and have the audacity to not work - avoid!
It is so chill there. Covered outdoor seating. Live music sometimes. Good food with vegetarian options. Nice beer selection. Great staff. Dog friendly!
Do you enjoy authentic Mexican food with a wonderful selection Mexican themed cocktails? This is your place, the service and atmosphere beyond the food will have you coming back for more. There is only one floculent distraction I found here and it was a bartender, some mid 30s bro looking guy that was arrogant and rude, avoid at all costs; otherwise enjoy and be fulllll...
Among the best, last punk venues and bars left in the city. So glad they have survived this hellscape time. Get some loaded totchos and drink one too many beers in back on a sunny (or rainy!) day.
I love thee Parkside. Classic institution, with mediocre everything. Ok music, but fun bands. Smaller beer list, but each excellent. Pub food, but with a twist and super tasty.Love the intersection of it all in this place. A real absolute pleasure everytime I go.
A favorite old school venue. Its everything you need: great music, affordably priced drinks, small/intimate setting to watch the show. Kind and patient bartenders. Open air patio with string lights. See a show here, its rocknroll heaven.
This is my favorite bar! Staff is really welcoming and personable. Also, the food and drinks are so good! They also have a coffee bar in the mornings thats awesome.
They have an outdoor covered area, if you want to get away from the noise or crowds. The sound man is excellent though, so there is no need for that. There is even a photo booth.
If you are going there for drinks, this is a great place. This is a good dive bar where dogs are allowed and you can relax with your friends and have a good time.My experience however was really bad, decided to go there for the lunch and I was the 6th person in the line when I reached there. It took me 15 mins to get in front of the line and place my order. I was about to leave but didnt because I already invested so much time standing in line and I thought the food will be faster. I was very wrong, it took 45 mins to get my food. 45 MIN TO GET THE FOOD!!! Thats ridiculous. I understand that they might have had multiple orders but if it was gonna take 45 mins to make my order I feel like they should have told me that it will take time before taking my order. And maybe because it was too busy the fried chicken sandwich was only half full. Not cool.If you are owner reading this: Tell customers that it will take an hour to get your food to go. Dont just keep taking orders if you cant handle the crowd.
Was told to try here for a quick bite before the Anchor tour. Girl at the bar said it should be fast. Orders a panini and a cheeseburger. Took 25 minutes and they messed up the order so I left half of it. Lost $10 with no offer to refund me etc and no time to argue about it.
Stay away, infested with rats! I literally saw one on top of a table and one running out the kitchen. Immediately left.
One of the best bars in SF hands down. Great for relaxing on a lazy weekend with a drink and some food. And great for checking out local music.
You know how rare it is these days to still have a killer bar bringing great indie bands to their stage and serving a very good beer list at prices where you can still buy a round for your entire crew and not have to file for bankruptcy? Very rare, but Thee Parkside is that bar and thank god.
The staff and local customers were very friendly. It is dog friendly which I greatly enjoyed. They have a wide variety of spirits, beer, and coffee. This is a great local joint to checkout
This place is awesome and has a lot of character. Love to hang out here. Plus there is food too! Really nice local place. Love the people.
Club is not very big inside, so its stuffy here if there are a lot of people visit a show. Good drink selection, prices are usual. Location is fine - bus stop near the club and 2 Caltrain stations within 15-20 minutes of walking (SF and 22nd street).
Two stars for good beer an a variety of taps. I dont think Ive ever seen a bar so empty though. Definitely run down even for a dive bar.
Cool place with indoor and outdoor areas, was dog friendly. Good drink selection. There was a pop up samosa menu the day we went which was awesome.
Cool atmosphere and cheap drinks, but theres a grumpy old lady behind the bar being rude and theres no other customers in there but us Lol
Love it here - great SF dive bar with outdoor seating
Havent been here since the 90s.... my man and I decided to have a quick lunch here this afternoon and I was pleasantly surprised at how yummy this dive bars food was! Not expensive meals that fill you up and the drinks are delish too!
Go here for really personable, up in your face bands. If the sound tech is on point, youre in for a show. The only downside to this place, is that it doesnt host noise pop anymore, Benders does ( aka Biker/Bear Mice From Mars ). They have great deals on beers and food, and youre not too far away from the rest of what small nightlife Potrero Hill has to offer. Buckle up, and go on in!
Great eats, delicious libations and fun/friendly staff! Im at this place at least once a month and it is always consistently awesome!
Like this place a lot. Very tasty bar food in addition to a funky ambiance. Great blue collar special -- $8 for a PBR and a shot of Jim Beam.
Back courtyard is great as are burgers but otherwise this lackluster dive disappoints on service and expensive covers for unheard of bands with very little decor or other appeal. We go here often as grad school is close but they never remember us. Wish there were better options nearby.
Cool divey bar. Amazing bartenders. Good happy hour. Great food. Live music. Covered patio. Dog friendly. I mean, this may be the perfect bar.
Cant wait for live music to come back, but its still nice to get to hangout here. Drinks are potent and the asada tots are big enough to feed 3
Good place to watch live music. Got a bit worse once it became a techie bus drop off spot. Burgers are good but last few times have upset my stomach so I dont get them anymore. Cash only
Great, super attentive bartenders and Brad, the cook is pretty great too.the place looks small but in reality has a large outdoorish seating area out back that is a really pleasant place to sit and have a beer
Good drink selection, live music and an excellent patio. The gathering spot for locals and after-work crowds. Get there quick for a good spot on the patio!
Great beer selection, good pitcher prices. Food is surprisingly awesome- from Carne Asada Tots to the Beet Ruben. Great patio.
Perfect little neighborhood bar for beer and very decent food. Had the fries with steak and everything. Very good! Also dog friendly. Will be back.
Out of towner here and I wish this place was closer to me. The owner is the sweetest person! and staff member stefon too! show was wild and the venue, to me atleast, handled it like champs! Also stayed pleasant to fans !
This is the best bar in San Francisco. It also happens to be one of the best cafes, restaurants, music venues, and patios, too.Repeat: my favorite bar. I love you, Thee Parkside
Large Picnic tables, great beer selection, great food, and awesome people hang out here. Definitely a place to visit on a mid day or late evening excursion through the city.
Best bar/restaurant/venue/coffee shop/cat palace/event space/home away from home in town. Great drinks at great prices, too.
Drunk pollo chicken sandwich is probably my favorite chicken sandwich in sf. Bartenders are friendly and the drinks are solid.
Divey music venue with a small food menu. Beer selection is decent, and food is tasty. Whatever you do, get some tater tots.
Great staff, Live Music Large patio!
One of my favorite local bars and venues. Great fries/tots and the best breakfast burritos.
One of my favorite dive bars. good greasy bar food, too. back patio is awesome and partially covered.
Intimate setting to see live music. Good tap selection. In house kitchen serves burgers and fries too.
Local dive with decent food. It felt a lot cooler before vapid 24-year-old startup kids working in Potrero started having their work team meetings there.
Slammin veggie burger. Bob Seger on the soundtrack. Lady doing burgs and lady doing beer were super nice and I have a crush on them. Cash only alert!!
Part dive bar, part music venue, part burger joint with surprisingly ample seating. This place has a lot of things going for it. Only drawback is its cash only.
Super good food and drinks and love the trivia. Bring cash, if they took card for sure 5 stars.
Great venue for local acts. Not sure if they always have metal shows, but thats what I saw. Three great bands.
Cheap drinks and awesome gigs! Back patio is dog friendly. Saturday afternoon free punk shows.
Basically everything a dive should be. Reasonably (for SF at least) priced drinks, a great sandwich+tots joint and a live music venue with covered outdoor seating.
A solid bar, with good outdoor space that is all-too-rare in San Francisco. The food, ordered separately from the bar, is also quite good.
Check the lineup - something for everyone
Tiny venue with great staff, food, fancy coffee, and cheap booze and drinks.
Nice place backyard nice great area have a good time.
Always an awesome place to visit. Please go hang out at thee Parkside, its one of my favorite small venues and they have Lonestar!
Place used to be cool a few years ago. Now they are still checking vax cards even though the mandate is over. SOOO NOT PUNK
Awesome shows, awesome food, awesome beer. One of the last good venues in SF :( Keep it alive.
Solid live music, chill back patio lounge and tasty food. Cash only but they have an ATM handy.
Great venue to see some of your favorite bands. It gets hot as heck, though. Wishing theyd open the front door, too.
Kitchen randomly refused to serve people when busy. Not just saying it will take a while. But actually refusing to even accept some peoples orders and accept others.
Good vibe and big patio area. Like the live music focus and the bartenders are nice. Bathrooms could be a bit cleaner
I was there for a concert so it was crowded, but the service was good and the drinks were decent enough! Wish I could have tried the food though...
Very fun and relaxed atmosphere! Big beer garden at the back that is perfect for evening drinks, also dog friendly
Freak little live music dive... A GREAT SHOW. was held last night with Walter Lure and LAMF tour with slaughter and the dogs
Solid food. Cheap drinks. Needs to add TVs to the outdoor area for games. Easy to park outside.
Patio is nice. No view and can be hot during the day/cold in the evening but a great, fair priced, beer selection
I mean they have really good drinks and the place is really pretty, but the food could be better.
Love this place! The burgers and fries are really really good and the patio is super chill.
Do it all venue that serves our entire community. Best kept secret, they have great food also!
Solid drinks and a great outdoor seating area. Funky crowd and funky ambiance.
Great patio if youre looking to get some food and hang out for a bit when the weather allows it.
Puzzle pint is amazing. Fun to go with friends. Flavorful beers, nice music, nice ambience
Live bands, beer, cocktails and great pub food! The outdoor space is great for happy hour and kids!
Great food! Cheap beer, good lunch special. Great patio.
Loud, but the real thing.
The side window is magic. Theres delicious burgers, amazing tater tots, and nice people serving. Eat here.
Awesome bands playing awesome staff delicious and fizzy cold beer
Amazing breakfast burrito and tater tots! back patio is so nice
Cool ambiance and chill spot. I like the outside patio! The food was also yummy.
Had a great evening hang with friends on the sidewalk. Amazingly friendly and nice staff who checked in on us.
Friendly Staff...Good Music...Found parking on a Saturday nite!
Great food! Some great bands have performed here too.
Nice place for a beer . Good Staff pet friendly. Nice variety of local Beers
Embarrassing to say how often I go here. Awesome servers, decent Aperol spritz, and a nice outdoor area
Great outdoor area, solid beer selection. Appropriate level of dive-ness
Great dive bar with a wide variety of interesting alternative music and a good kitchen.
Fantastic bar, Great live music, friendly staff.
Cool small venue. Big patio area with picnic style benches to hang out in between bands.
It was great seeing atom age play they were great, the drinks were cheap, and the staff & their service was exceptional.
Seen some great bands here. Nothing like going all the way to SF just for a punk show!
Best in town. Good music, good food veeeeery good beer. Love it
Music was awesome! Revolts and Swinging Utters we great. Food was iffy. Staff was nice.
This place is great! The only negative is that the inside space where bands perform is small and gets really packed.
Great $2 tacos on taco Tuesday. Pulled pork sandwich and beers were good, too.
Very good place to chill. Live music and bike parking on the patio. Get the Tachos of you can.
I am only in a Parkside mood maybe once/decade. On that one specific day, Parkside is PERFECTLY CAST--really ideally gritty and grumpy, lean and mean. Otherwise steer clear.
Good not super busy bar that you can also get decent food at.
Great little a dive with a large, covered patio & a kitchen. Friendly staff, stiff drinks.
Great dive with great hangover food and love the music!
Great place for live music, drinks or bet, and delicious burgers.
Cool place with live music, but if you order food youll be waiting a while
Place itself looks kinda weird, but they have great outside sitting area. It is worth going in.
Awesome place for food and rock&roll music! Thanks guys! Always coming here!
One of my favorite places ever, cant wait until live music is back.
Free country/twang on Sunday afternoons, a rarely-crowded back patio, a good dive to get a beer with friends.
Awesome food, good drinks and interesting music.
Good food, beers and bartenders. Check them out
A San Francisco institution, and one of the last remnants of the old SF hanging on as the shiny tech gentrification surrounds it.
Classic intimate music venue. The band is always rockin!
So, great food, reminded me a lot of the old Zeitgeist
Old school dive bar with a great outdoor backyard and great food!
Great dive bar that serves food on the back patio.
They only take cash otherwise use the ATM. The beer selection is good
Cool spot with good food and great drinks at a very reasonable price.
I like the Vegetarian burger and the tat- term tots extra crispy. Ask for it.
Great bands. Great staff. Support your local venues!
An incredibly intimate and energetic spot. I thoroughly enjoyed the vibe.
Punk bar with badass food and a great beer selection. Get the tots!
Cash only, great beer taps, delicious food, great backyard space!
Great bar, Sundays free live music across from the park.
Really a cool place, good foods, good beer, good music!! Thumbs up!!
Food is cheap and everyone is friendly. Nice patio in the back.
Steadily has awesome of all kinds of rock n roll, punk, hardcore, etc.
Cheap, good beer. Bartender was nice and socialable
Outdoor seating awesome, grumpy bartender not so much
What a lovely patio and fantastic kitchen! Also, Laura is a total babe!
Hard music and drinks. Not a lot of places like this left in the city, can’t miss it.
