A nice gentleman returned my hoodie when I came back to my car (well after checkout). I had forgotten it on the bed—so nice of him to make the effort! Proximity to the beach is clutch, but be aware you may have to pick up your key from the other location a few blocks away. It’s a motel. It’s clean, and you’re just here for the location and a bed. Not much else. Rooms are small.
I walked in today. Horrible diplomacy from a Hispanic lady at desk. Would not make eye contact. Spoke abruptly and very rude direct wording. I have stayed here many times when coming to Seaside. I have changed my location of Hotel interest. Thanks in advance for the very unethical diplomacy. I did see Help wanted front Desk sign. Perhaps the issue lies internally.
The absolute ONLY reason this is not a 1 star review is the location. Very ideal. Other than that, everything from the stay to the room was absolutely horrendous. The service was terrible. Two rude elderly women working in the front desk (on a different hotel site by the way) were unhelpful AND unkind. The rooms were dark and dingy, knicks everywhere. Sink clogged. No screens on the windows and it was so warm. DO NOT STAY HERE it is really not worth the location.
Its cool that they put envelopes out for late check ins, however they forgot to put the room key in my envelope while the other late checkins got their rooms without problem. Had to stay at motel 6. Lesson learned.UPDATE 3 STARS TO 0 STARSYou see all the replys from the owner? They are fake. They are just to save face, they dont actually respond to the support emails or actually try to help. Shame oyo.
My second stay at this motel, its a Perfect room to sleep poop and shower for a quick overnight stay, perfect for couples who will be out and about all day. Not recommended for a family. Rooms are clean, the property is clean, you have to get the key from another motel down the road but no biggie, right? Youre checking the area out anyways. Friendly lady at the office. 1 block from the beach and downtown seaside, fantastic price for the location. Will be back again.
I could not sleep because I kept hearing clicking and it turned out to be a mouse in our room. Very disgusting. The location was nice since it was a good walking distance everywhere. But my last straw is mice.
The good: its only a couple of blocks from the beach and main street. Quiet area. Small motel with a small parking lot. TV, fridge, microwave. The bad: you have to check in at another motel about 3/4 miles away and we didnt know until we got there. No on-site staff if issues arise. The outlets are not great and a lot of damage throughout the room. Not worth $150/night.
I had to go a half mile to another motel to register, then return and get the actual door key from housekeeper. The toilet seat was loose, so a maintenance man had to come to fix it. A large person would find getting to the bathroom difficult as the doorway is partly blocked by the refrigerator and microwave. There are no shelves or counters in the bathroom to set toiletries on. No extra lights for the mirror. Electric outlets are old and problematic.
Had a spur of the moment need of a room for the evening while staying in seaside and they got us in quickly! The ladies I spoke with were very kind and informative. The room was nice, small, but it didnt matter to us. Location was perfect! Would highly recommend them in the future!
We had a wonderful time . This was my first time visiting and I can’t wait to go back . The room was nice and clean and we slept very well ! Thank you for such wonderful hospitality
The room needs some kind of ac or better h vac the shower had a soap dispenser witch is not a problem but it was not labeled witch was frustrating
Our first motel fell through so I called this one. When he answered the phone it was really loud in the background. So between that and it being hard to understand his accent. I said “nevermind” and hung up.He proceeded to call me back 3 MORE times!!At first I thought it was atelemarketer because the number was from Texas and we’re in Oregon. I finally answered and when I did he was very rude about me calling him and not reserving a room. YIKES!!! I yelled at him (I had to yell at this point in order to be heard over his arguing ) that it’s inappropriate to call my number like that and to not call me back!I would never stay here. If that’s how they treat you from calling imagine what it would be like staying their.
The motel itself was very cute and cozy. Its in an amazing location just a block or two away from the beach and from lots of local fun shops. My only issues with it were that the office was closed when we arrived, during business hours, and we had to go to a different location to check in. It wasnt that much of an inconvenience because it was a 3 minute drive, but Im mentioning it to bring awareness to management that it would be good to communicate that to their guests. Another issue was that it seemed like the room hadnt been cleaned thoroughly when we entered but I kind of figured that it was because no one had stayed there in a while. Quite a few dead flies all over the place and pretty dusty and stuffy but after turning on the fan and getting rid of the flies everything was comfy and cozy and felt right at home. Clean bed and bathroom too. Finally, the website for this motel said there was an indoor heated pool and we could not find it. Even with those 3 things I would say overall we had a wonderful stay and I would stay here again.
This was a great stay! It’s in the perfect location to downtown and the beach and the accommodations were very comfortable.
So dissatisfied! The checkin was an at different location than listed at coastal river inn. My tv didn’t work, the room didn’t heat up and they had long hairs all in the sheets the shower and the room curtain. They also did not give me any regular sized towels, they gave me 1 tiny kid sized towel. Hated my stay to be honest.
Adequate motel, clean. Rather small. But in all perfectly serviceable for an overnight stay.
Ive stayed in many different hotels, but this by far was the worst. The office is not on sight. The 1st night we tried to get extra blankets, we had to message Expedia as there is no phones in the room either nor a local number to call. It was unsuccessful. Our sink was plugged & leaking. We finally drove 1/2 mile the next day since it was late to where the actual office was at another hotel to ask for blankets, as the power was out, & get the sink fixed. They only gave us one blanket. The temperature was in the 20s. The maintenance man finally came & fixed the leaky sink, said hed be back in 20 min to unplug it, but never came back. He himself had to walk on the sheet of ice leading to our room & did nothing about it, no salt, etc. I had to scrap the ice off our steps by hand & poured hot water to keep it safe for us to get on & out of our room. When we arrived, the heat wasnt even on in the room in sub freezing Temps. We tried to switch hotels but couldnt because of the weather conditions & power outage. Also, there is absolutely no pool at this site. Its sad that the website advertised it & has pictures. I noticed some of these photos are from the other hotel where the off site office is. It was the worst, unmanaged, zero customer service place Ive ever been & Ive been everywhere. Stay away from OYO facilities you get what you pay for...& I see lots of replies from the owner who acts apologetic & says they will look into the issues expressed, but they are liars with no integrity nor any sense of customer care. All the complaints you see before me have never been addressed. They blatantly dont care & will blow smoke to make themselves sound like theyre bettering themselves, but they could care less about the quality of your stay.
I wasnt expecting much for $54 (inc. tax!), but got exactly what I needed: a clean, comfy bed, a tidy room, and a pleasant place to stop for a night on the road. There was even a coffee pot, which I wasnt expecting in such a minimalist room. Wifi was good, tv was a good size for a small room (its about the size of a medium bedroom) and the refrig even had a big enough freezer compartment to keep my bad of ice frozen overnight for the long trip home the following day.Reading through the negative reviews, all I can say is: what do you expect for the price? It was much better than I had anticipated, much better than many rooms Ive stayed in for twice the price, and it will be a place I use when traveling Hwy 101 back and forth over the next few months. If you want an ocean view and a vacation experience, probably not the spot for you. If you want a good nights sleep with a decent tv and a clean room, it was perfect.
Check in and out was easy. We stayed in the location off the main property. The room had 2-3 new modern features like a newer head board and some modern decor. My only complaint (and I could be biased, I’m a house cleaner but still..) The number of cobwebs hanging from the ceiling, and settled dust in Windows seals, door frames etc was so gross. It looked like no one has dusted in way too long. Just in general and for the price we paid, I feel like that kind of took away from it. We have stayed here before and might again so hopefully this review will be taken accommodating for possibly us and future travelers.
Cant say anything about the actual place because the check-in was so bad that after the employee told us we should just go home we just left. The next hotel was lovely.
Very small but comfortable rooms. Having to go to a different hotel to get a key is inconvenient.
It’s fine. You don’t get a room this close to the beach for this cheap and expect it to be nice. It’s perfectly fine.
Booked a last minute weekend trip and was extremely disappointed. Had to drive a mile away just to check in and get key. Thankfully another guest told us where to go because no one else did. Room was tiny and for the price of the motel it should have been bigger. Bed was tiny as well, it said queen but I think it was a full sized to be honest. There was a lot of hair on the bed and towels which was nasty. The bath towels were very little and we only got one. I understand this is a motel but this is just insane. The price, cleanliness, room size, and hospitality sucked. Oh also at 5 in the morning some lady started to scream and I mean scream at someone else. Don’t go here, they need to do better.
Overpriced. Nice, central location with a comfy bed, but that is all youre paying for. I booked this room to have somewhere to shower and sleep after the Hood to Coast Relay and thats basically all this place is.I was not expecting much, but its overpriced. There is no staff on site. You have to go to a separate location where staff gives out keys for multiple hotels. The room where sheets appear to be stored does not shut properly and has water leaking into it. The ice machine spout is algea covered. The room itself looked clean and the bed was very comfortable, however there were no air vents. If it gets stuffy, the only option is to open the parking lot facing window. Theres no blinds, so the curtains blow open.
The pictures of the 2 bedroom room apartment looked fabulous online however the room looked nothing like the pictures. The fiber sheets were full of hair, the towels had holes and stains on them, the shower had mold, the windows didn’t have screens, the ceiling fan didn’t spin, the utensils were dirty, you could feel every coil in the mattress and one of my children woke up in tears because their back hurt so bad. Not worth the cost and thank goodness we were only there one night.
EDIT: In response to their reply….they did NOTHING to rectify this situation (which would be a refund). Instead said we no showed and that they have a no refund policy, even though they blatantly lied over the phone before booking and on their website. Avoid AT ALL COSTS.This place is a nightmare. A complete joke.My husband called at 5pm to see if late check in would be available. He spoke to someone who confirmed someone would be there when he got there to check in so he booked the room. It says on their website and in our booking that 24/7 check in is available. He got there at 1am like he said he would be and the place was completely closed. There was a number on the door to call but no one answered it. He was left without a hotel room in the middle of the night and had to go to several other places before he was able to get a room.Their customer service was horrible. The person I spoke to in the Philippines was yelling and speaking over me and refused to transfer me to a manager. She did admit that their website does say 24/7 check in but that it wasn’t true. I called the hotel directly and the person I spoke to was nice but said there was nothing that could be done because their manager was out for two weeks. We are reporting the charge as fraud and I would strongly advise against booking with this hotel.
Nice deal, but could use better quality, thicker, fluffier towels.
Room was TINY. Extra charge for pet after I fully paid for the room. THis after we booked and then had to travel across town to pick up the room key. Room was clean enough but for the price the quality and service is SERIOUSLY lacking at this property. Someone should be working AT THIS property to check people in to be charging the rates they do. No blowdryer, I was told to wait till 10AM and then someone would show up that has a blowdryer. Didnt happen. Value for money is simply not there. Lady at front desk of other hotel that we had to drive to answer was tell the owner. I wouldnt stay here again.
Nice, clean and comfy room. Has a bungalow feel to it. Nice and close to all attractions which was a huge plus. Will stay again!
You wont find a better hotel for the money. Very clean and right by the beach and city center. This is now the only hotel Ill use when Im Seaside.
Very difficult time understanding staff. They never told me ahead of time that there is no management on site, so we had to drive to a different location to get the key. Bed was extremely uncomfortable. Room was so small there was barely room to breathe. I stayed at this hotel before it was bought out a few years ago and it was much better then. Very disappointed.
Poorly decorated in my opinion, I feel like the rooms need a better atmosphere. The rooms definitely need a fan. I am a hot sleeper and so is my partner in the room was uncomfortable the whole night and it was super inconvenient to have to go to an entire another hotel just to get the keys there was issues all night long with a another person staying there banging on the walls until four in the morning and no one was available at the hotel to help us do something about it, I’ve stayed at this hotel many times and I’ve absolutely love my stays in the past, but this one was unpleasant. Also, I stayed in room 309 and there is a camera right outside my window, which also made me uncomfortable because I couldn’t tell if it was able to see in my room or not and that’s just gross and I also feel like you guys need to provide a dresser inside of the room because there’s a lot of people that don’t wanna live outside of their bag the entire time
No forewarning to drive South of town from the hotel, to a different hotel, to check in until I saw the CLOSED sign and phoned the stated number. Only to get a rude person on the other end who responded to my humble confusion by accusingly retorting that I had OBVIOUSLY NOT READ THE SIGN! Was told Your room will be cleaned and stocked every day when I asked if there were enough coffee pods in the room--no one came to gather towels, clean nor replenish the single packet of coffee. All shower hardware was very loose and rattling. I will never stay in an OYO again and suggest you dont either. One positive was the location right next to the Seaside Conference Center.
We loved this cute, quaint, and nostalgic motel. It was clean and area was close walking to everything especially the beach. Not sure why some negative complaints. It isnt touted to be a 5-star experience, but offers a comfy clean bed, microwave, refrigerator. I would definitely stay here again, and the price is right. So what if the pandemic has closed their office and you have to check in at another property! It was an extra 10 minutes of time and they alert you if you book ahead. No hassle at all. We were in a 5-star hotel in Vegas this summer, but I enjoyed this stay MUCH more. Brought back childhood memories of road trips and how simple life once was. Thank you City Center Motel for your hospitality!!
My sister and I checked in at 5pm where two middle aged guests were openly drinking in their car and in front of our room… by 11pm we had to call the police because these neighbouring guests were hammered, throwing pizza and beer cans at our door, blasting music and screaming obscenities at us, eventually trying to BREAK INTO our unit FOUR times as we watched the door almost break open. The problem is that there is no office/staff actually at the location to stop things like this from happening. When we finally got a hold of the manager the next day (nobody answered our calls the night of) they gave us a refund, but we didnt even stay the night and checked into a nicer hotel for the rest of our trip. Would NOT recommend for young female travellers as we were so uncomfortable. We drove by the next day to see those embarrassing old drunk tenants still there as well, apparently not asked to leave.
I cant say that Id come back, but if youre looking for a budget room and noise or the size of the room is of little concern, this is a good spot.*At first glance:-The rooms are clean and look well maintained.-The distance from the beach is appealing.-The customer service is okay.**Upon further inspection: the rooms are very, very small. The beds are actually not that comfortable, and ours was pretty squeaky which made using the restroom in the night a public affair. The walls are very thin, so we could hear the people in the rooms on either side of us quite often. Its also pet friendly, so the combination of small rooms, thin walls, and squeaky beds makes for a pretty noisy environment. All the complimentary amenities were stocked, and the towels in the bathroom were clean and folded. The water pressure in the shower was decent, too.I cant say that Id come back, but if youre looking for a budget room and noise or the size of the room is of little concern, this is a good spot.
We needed a place to stay for a night at the coast as we were going to move south for the next two nights. This motel fit the bill - clean and simple, inexpensive and met our need.
The highlight of my stay was when a random man walked into my room before announcing “Wrong room, my bad.” Convenient location, but sketchy as hell come sunset. The beds were insanely uncomfortable, and the bathroom was constantly damp. You get what you pay for, I guess.
When we got our room, it smelt wreched. Ive never had to sleep with such a awful smell of urine in my life. This was my first trip with my girlfriend and I genuinely felt embarrassed that I brought her here.
This was my boyfriend and I’s first time staying at this oyo motel just because the other was sold out for what we needed…. I loved the location and I didn’t mind the room being smaller however the room was pretty dirty. And the shower had no pressure. And they don’t supply body wash or shampoo… I probably won’t be back to this motel just because of all the hair and dust. And there was splatters of something on floor and ceiling…..
This place was close to the beach which was great. No frills, comfy bed, television, microwave and fridge. However, the bedside lamps were pretty dusty as well as the air conditioning tower unit which was placed on bedside table. I’m allergic to dust and had to move unit as not to inhale all the very visible dust on the unit. The other thing is that the heater dial needs to be labeled. I was freezing and only on my last night did I turn the dial to see what it did. Voila, heat ! Also beware that you have to go to another site down the road to actually check in. I did not receive an email stating this but another guest said he did receive an email disclosing this. The walls are thin and I could hear the other guest very clearly. Otherwise, its economical and close to the beach.
I love the two separate sleeping arrangements. It is within walking distance of the beach and promenade. Very quiet and peaceful for sleeping. Lots of room! Well worth the money!
Stayed two nights here recently. Very convenient location - within close walking distance to both the beach itself & main drag. The accommodations were very comfortable. Slept very well both nights. Both the shower & the bathtub were more than adequate - great water pressure, plenty of hot water, & has a nice, deep bathtub. I did not use the indoor pool since I didnt bring a suit but it like a family would really enjoy it.Overall, it was a great place to stay. The rates were more than reasonable since Id made reservations with little notice & stayed on a Thursday through Saturday in June (in season). I will definitely be back.
Well... the good is the location. 2 blks from the beach, shops and restaurants. The beds were reasonably comfortable. Easy parking. We rented the 2 bedroom for 1 night. The not so good - it is very run down and broom clean. The microwave above the stove is shot, the kitchen sink pipe is dripping big time, the side shelf on the fridge is literally duct tape. We paid $360 for one night....
After many hours on the road in a cramped backseat, I was thrilled to see a jetted tub in the bathroom of the suite. Excitement quickly turned to deep disappointment, however, when the hot water ran out before the tub was even a quarter full, then slowly drained out through what I am assuming is a broken plug all within about 6 minutes, leaving me without even the option of a hot shower until the water heater refilled. The room was clean and quaint, if fairly dated and dinged up in places (as to be expected from a budget host) and the location was good.
Great room for the price. Walking distance to arcade, aquarium, restaurants and beach! Rooms are small. And very plain. But this is my favorite spot in seaside. We spend so much time outside of our rooms, its nice to pay under $50 a night on the off season.I would however say that not having a table or a surface to set anything on in the room was a joke. The tub drain doesnt close bathroom door doesnt shut. And my worst complaint is that there is no plug in in the bathroom. There isnt one even close! The closest one was 15 feet away! And there was only a small chest- to head mirror. No length one. Oh well. Great steak for the buck anyways. We will always come back.
The room we received was small, our shower barely worked, and it was far too complicated to even turn it on, plus our bedding was badly stained. Our room we booked online was NOT the same room we received. The customer service was good , the maintenance man promptly fixed our maintenance request and was nice, but very awkward. The indoor pool was very small with open windows facing the street that made my family uncomfortable. I would not stay a second time because its not worth it.
Its been a few years since going. But we plan on going soon and will always go here. Last time they upgraded us to the 2 bedroom apartment style room with full kitchen! Being a family of 6 we were grateful. But even their other large rooms weve stayed in have been awesome. Perfect location. You can walk to the beach or right across the street is their little shopping mall.
READ- If you stay here make sure you double check the housekeepers work before you go enjoy your day, or else you’ll be met with the same customer service as me.Made a last minute decision to book a room at this motel because of the availability and location. Checked into the room at 12:00 and quickly dropped everything off to have a full day exploring Seaside.Didn’t get back into the room until 11pm. The ceiling light didn’t work so I just used the lamp, (which isn’t the issue here.) As I was getting ready for bed I noticed womens hair and makeup all over the pillows. One of the pillows had a large wad of hair on the side of the pillow. I decided to shrug it off and just threw it on the floor, then hopped into bed and noticed that under the blanket was FULL of sand. At this point I decided to call front desk to report it and ask for the wifi password since it wasn’t provided but no one answered. I took pictures of everything including another large brown stain on the bedsheet. The large wad of hair on the pillow sadly fell off after putting it on the floor and didn’t want to reconstruct the scene and instead just stayed honest.Had to leave early the next morning and decided to give a common courtesy call later at some point along my 10 hour drive. Once I called I was immediately questioned by an argumentative lady, asking why I didn’t call yesterday and even said it’s my job to check the room right when i check in because that’s what everyone does. I should never have to quality check a room I paid over $200 for after taxes. The manager later called me and had the same attitude. Questioning the legitimacy of my complaint because I didn’t call first thing in the morning, also saying that the house keeper would never do something like that. I’m sure he’s a good worker but multiple things were definitely not noticed.I sent pictures to the manager who already said she doesnt plan on doing much, at most will refund me $50. I’d prefer a full refund after this terrible costumer service but I doubt that’ll happen so I’m here to warn everyone. Remember- quality check your room first, enjoy your day second.
Not very clean & there was a perfumy smelling cleaning product in the room that I couldnt air out. There were hairs on the comforter, in the shower, and the sink that I noticed. Sandy and unclean feeling hardwood floor. The inside of the coffee maker was very dirty, with debris inside and small hairs. Major dust accumulation on the arms of the bedside lights and one of the window sills. I was disappointed I didnt get a bath tub, as the picture showed for the room I thought I was getting (a single queen). Otherwise, the wifi worked and it was warm and dry during a rain storm. Funky but adequate.
First off let me start by saying the staff was wonderful everyone was super sweet that in itself can make or break a vacation. The room was adorable and very clean. Just 2 blocks from the beach and the main strip couldnt have asked for a better location. Pool was small but clean and served its purpose. My grand daughter my girls and I had an amazing time will be our new go to when seaside is our destination. Highly recommended.
We stayed in room 300 at city center motel. Its a 2 bedroom apartment with a full kitchen and refrigerator. 3 blocks from the shore and a block from the main walk. We came for the aquarium and found a killer hotel next door. We will be back very soon.
Location great, rooms not so, not that clean,The fan had not been cleaned in a very long time, it was growing fur. The microwave had food still in it from last guests. The beds were comfortable. No fan in bathrooms. No place to hang clothes?. If your there for an extended stay dont recommend. If you there for one night ok?
Our particular room was great (room 6), because it was on the end of the building and therefore had 2 windows with screens to create a nice cross breeze. There is no AC, so most people had their doors propped open for air flow. Luckily we had this room, since our dog would escape if we had to open the door. The staff was great. The location was within walking distance to several restaurants and the strip. The room was certainly out dated, but clean.
The hotel room was clean and the beds were comfortable. Also a great location and i enjoyed the vintage style building. The pictures posted on the site were definitely from a remodeled room and not the type i stayed in. The biggest issue was while using the shower the water suddenly changed to scalding, when brought up to the front desk we didnt recieve any apology, just informed that it happened to others. We were just lucky that my toddler wasnt using the shower
We were expecting a more from a $200 a night motel but, it is a tourist town and we should have known better.Pros: minutes from the boardwalk and beach, super soft beds, super hot water, pet friendly,($10 per pet), nice little patio for when you want to sit outside, pool.Cons:no air conditioning, window in the bedroom didnt open though some other rooms did, rooms were cramped (we had a double), bathrooms were small, super hot water (dont flush while showering), loose wall outlets(wouldnt hold the plug), husband claims it had a weird smell due to lack of air flow.Overall it was a nice little place for a place to rest your head and a place to wash up. It would be great in the spring or fall but the summer heat needs some sort of A/C they did give us a tower fan when we asked for one but it wasnt enough to circulate the air in the room and it stayed pretty stagnant.
Loved the little room we got it was a very cute space ! and it’s a walking distance from the beach only thing is when we got there we got told to go to another hotel to get our keys and we didn’t know bc we weren’t told to go there first and then the hotel but it was a very good stay!
We had a kitchenette with pots that were useless, a dishwasher that didnt work with two bedrooms very clean, another room had two beds and a marvelous bathroom very clean. The gentleman that cleans was magnificent and kept a very clean environment.
God awful place to stay. It smells, its moldy, small, broken lights everywhere. I dont get how this place thinks they can charge as much as they do for rooms here. We stayed back in January and Jesus have I ever wanted to get our of a room quicker. There was garbage piles of mattresses and old furnishings just outside of the hotel on the west side of the building. How is this possible? They tried to make the rooms feel up to date by replacing mattresses but the rooms are small as can be and the electrical work in this place is scary. There were electrical splitters everywhere and light fixtures upon light fixtures. I am not kidding I think out bathroom had two fans and three lights and its a 4 x 8 bathroom. I will say this the woman at the front desk is very nice and she belongs at another location because this place should be demolished. Expect a crappy nights sleep as the windows and walls are thin as can be you can hear your neighbor in the next room clear as day.DO NOT GO TO THIS HOTEL.
Fairly basic motel setup, great for the price. We had the 1 king 2 queen with kitchen and 1 bath. Clean room and beds, one LCD TV with cable, coffee maker, full sized fridge, microwave, cooking range, toaster, you get the idea.Staff was polite and respectful.Indoor heated pool is nice but only comfortable with 10 or so people in it. Anymore would feel too crowded.Expect some noise due to the location. But the location dies mean you can walk to pretty much everything. Lots of dining options with 1-2 blocks.
Great stay for the price and convenietly located to everything. Carmen the live in manager was absolutely a gem. She made check in a breeze. She also went above and beyond to assure that our stay wasnt ruined by other guests that kept us up late and we returned to stay again. Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity Carmen! The rooms were a little small but very clean. The bed was hands down one of the most comfortable hotel beds Ive slept on. We will most definitely be returning and look forward to seeing all the upgrades that are in the works.
The office was closed and we had to drive to a different place to check in; however there was no mention of this on the website or during/after the booking process. The room was TINY, stuffy, and very cramped. I have no problem with small rooms, but this was like a glorified supply closet. The wall lights didnt work either. We booked a Queen room and the bed is a full. When Im paying over $200/night I expect that to be reflected in the room. This was definitely not. We will not be returning. Awful experience.
Disgusting. I usually don’t write bad reviews but this is ridiculous. My husband and I just checked in and this place is filthy. I mean there’s no way our room was thoroughly cleaned. There’s a burn hole in the comforter, there is someone’s hair stuck on the coffee table, and there is dried coffee all down the side of the microwave. I took pictures but I don’t see any place to attach them to this review. The ONLY good thing about this place is the location. We will not be back.
Stear clear of this place. The room was very musty and the fragrance that they sprayed to cover up the smell of mold didnt work. The bed sheets was very discouraging as they were Stained with yellow spots that looked like pee. The walls had lots of brown splatter everywhere. Overall the stay was worse as there was no receptionist at this location to cancel your reservation. They only supply a number that no one picks up at. Google review compared to Expedia review is a lie. You will waste your money and good time stressing over this place.
Good beds, nice front desk, great hot water super fancy shower, TV was outdated no HDMI input so that was a bummer. Really nice stove in the kitchen tho they provide dishes and soap for you to wash them. Overall pleased with the stay, though it was a bit over priced.
The worst experience I have ever had with a hotel. You have to go to another hotel to check in. Then they demanded a $100.00 deposit for paying cash. Ive never heard of anything so idiotic in my life. Once we finally got in our room, it was tidy but the floors were gritty, like they had not been swept. The shower was rusted, paint was peeling and there was no air conditioning. The bed was like sleeping on a stone slab, and there was some kind of weird pink stain on the sheets. The hotel misrepresented itself by posting photos of a different hotels facade. I wish I could give it less stars, but Google wont let me.
Well it’s clean but the shower does not work, like if you want it warm you can’t because the way it’s built. Also, the WiFi, you can only watch 20 sec of YouTube, then there is a loading screen for about 5 min till it works. Overall it was clean and it meets the standards of a hotel and the guy at the front is a very friendly person he treats you like family.
One Star AT BEST. This visit was horrible! Not only will I never stay there again, I will advise others not to as well. The room, although clean & utile, was unbelievably small. There was about 18 between walls & bed. The bed itself was just a bunch of lumps, the middle of the bed just a big divet. THERE WAS NO HEAT IN THE ROOM! Really? Just because its at the beach doesnt mean it doesnt get cold in October. In order to get any hot water, I had to let the water run for 5 full minutes. AND there is NO manager or anyone who could help with any of the above on site.
One star removed for pillowcase covered in hair; one star removed for cleaning staff entering our room with no warning before checkout, while I am getting dressed; one more star removed for having to drive across town to pick up room key, and then met by another sign stating ‘back in 10 minutes’ (it took 20).
I was very impressed with the pricing especially on a last-minute stay. When I arrived I had to wait quite a while because the only woman in the office was on a phone call booking another guest who was having trouble. I waited about 5 to 10 minutes before I was acknowledged and then was checked in. I got put in a room that was in a separate building two buildings behind the main office. I didnt even know it was part of the motel. It was a Corner Room in what seemed to look like an alleyway. There was a suspicious character hanging out out front but I went into my room and got settled anyway. I left the room and spent most of the day at the beach. The room was nice and clean. The bed was very springy and not all that comfortable but again, great for the price. There was a fridge or microwave and a nice big TV. The walls were paper thin though. The couple next to me stayed up all night fighting and I could hear everything including when they would use their microwave. I ended up calling the office at 11:30 and changing rooms in the middle of the night. They put me in a different room that ended up being next to the laundry room so I was woken up at 7 a.m. with what sounded like shoes in a dryer. You can hear just about everything in any room is what it seems like. The bed in the second room was a lot nicer and softer and that room had a stove top in it the price was great but since I wasnt able to get any sleep at sort of defeats the purpose of getting a hotel at all. I probably wont be back here
Beautiful little room minutes away from the beach!
This motel was ok. There was no air conditioning so we had to open the windows which had no screens on them so some flying bugs would come in sometimes. The electrical to the bathroom needs updated because the fan and light werent clearly marked and there was a switch that went to nothing which was confusing until we figured out it wasnt anything. The electrical cover that went over the switch was also broken and a safety hazard. Overall the bed was decent and the room was clean but could use some updating. It was cheap so its hard to complain about it too much.
Absolutely loved this place!! If you’re expecting fancy, it isn’t that, but it is definitely a quaint little place with an amazing staff. The manager is absolutely fantastic!! She made sure we had everything we needed. When we were here it was pretty warm and she even offered us a fan for our room. The room is clean and the bed was so comfortable. We will be back many more times I’m sure!
I only gave it a 4 because it is small but that fits the price and it took a long time for the water to get hot, and the office to check in is at a different Site. Mostly minor issues. The location is excellent, easy walking distance to Downton and the beach, and sleep was quiet and comfortable. All good.
Great location. Clean room with everything I needed. Walking distance to everything in Seaside, and only a block from the beach. Super comfy bed surprised me for such a cheap room. The bad reviews are pretty lame- its a $70 room at the beach in a good location.... quit your whining. (LOL). Great friendly service. Noon checkout time was nice since most places are 11. Walking distance from everything cool. Better than I had expected for $70 night so close the beach.
They have had the registration desk at this location CLOSED FOR OVER A YEAR (sign on the door says March 2021!) - but all my confirmation emails lied, saying I would be able to check in on location. I had to walk half a mile to another completely different hotel (carrying all my luggage!), wait in a long line because its just one person checking in two hotels worth of people, and then walk back the half mile to my room. I have knee problems and lung issues, and when I contacted OYO afterwards, they said they dont care.If its been over a year and they cant bother to edit their confirmation emails with this information, then I hate to think about what other shortcuts theyre taking with cleanliness...
The room was small but just what we needed for our stay. Warm, a comfortable bed and quiet. And, the fact we were only a couple blocks from downtown, made it so convenient. Thank you.
My husband booked us in at City Center Motel for a getaway just for us. The motel is charming. The lady at the front desk was welcoming, funny, informative, and very pleasant. The room was a surprise. Upon, opening the door it felt so inviting. Everything was so comfortable and very clean. We will definitely visit again.
While the room was small and the heater was unreliable (and it would have been nice if there was a table or a desk) we liked staying here. The rooms were clean and well made, we found the body wash/shampoo dispensers in the shower very convenient since we both managed to forget both things. And the best part was the location. From the hotel you can walk to the aquarium, the beach, Funland, and all the little shops downtown.
Good for pets. Conveniently located. Very old and dated but comfortable and clean. The weather was particularly cold when we where there and the heater in our room did not work very well at all. The office gave us an extra portable heater to make up for it.
Looked questionable from the outside but inside it was cute, clean, and had a really comfy bed! It is an amazing location. Only 1 block from the beach, 1 block from the cutest little shopping center ever and 2 blocks from the aquarium! I loved it here. Only downside was it had NO AC!!!
The beds are AMAZING. I didnt want to get out of them. The staff is friendly. Only reason I gave 4 stars is their bathrooms are really outdated. Theres no hooks by the shower to hang towels and theres no where to put toiletries. A small shelf near the sink would be nice.
This motel was so cute and so close to the beach. And they DO message you about where to check in, you just have to check your messages. We loved our little room and walking to the beach 🏖️
I would give them less stars if I could. Worst stay at a motel that I can remember. After signing in and paying for room that my family now calls the Ghetto,we found that the room was on the corner of an alley way. The drape was way too small for the window so anybody could look in whenever, the doorknob was extremely loose and the deadbolt hole was drilled in the wrong place so it was useless. On top of all that the people in the next unit had a SCREAMING baby. So I immediately went back to the front desk to tell them this was unacceptable and did they have another room. Shannon said there was nothing else available and nothing could or would be done. They also have a 72 hour cancellation policy and I would just have to deal with the situation and that I was being unreasonable. After paying $125 for a 8X10 room I thought I was being VERY reasonable that I should be able to lock it when my daughter was sleeping that room. We planned on staying 3 days in Seaside but after one night of sleeping against the front door(because it wouldnt lock) and having a fighting couple and a baby that was seriously having a problem, we left the next morning and came home. So I recommend you not waste your time, money anything else on this dump of a motel. And if theyrelike this in Seaside, you can bet theyre like that at all City Center Motels.Ill NEVER stay at one and Im telling everyone I know to stay away.
Excellent deal and a return visit discount. Very central location. Old old school beach hotel room with quirky characteristics that we admired for a quick summers escape. We found a quick walk to beach and a quick walk for food and libations quenching our weekend getaway thirst. Way more experience then the sterile big box hotels so step back into a simpler point in time.
Ill agree with the other reviewers and say that the rooms were small and dated, and the bathrooms could use some updating. I also had some noise issues in the mornings but they were from other GUESTS not the housekeeping crew.HOWEVER, regardless of the above, I would absolutely stay at City Center Motel again in the future. The price was right, and the staff were absolutely the nicest and most friendliest people Ive met in Seaside. They were chatty and conversational and also SINCERE, not fake like some staff! I also received a complementary box of soap when I made change for the laundry room.I had NO issues with mold, dirty rooms, burnt out light bulbs, wet spots, housekeeping, bad outlets (although one didnt quite hold my phone charger, but that was made up for with a 2x USB charging outlet next to the coffee machine). Ive been to other motels of the same age and I have seen WAY worse than City Center. This motel was appropriate for the price, and any issues I had were understandable. Thanks for the great experience!
You can tell its an older place but its still cute, well kept and clean. The custodian was helpful and did his job well. The location was fabulous, easy walking distance to shops and the beach. Would book here again.
Good location, but tired, lacks basic maintenance, noisy and not worth the money. We had a family suite because we had a puppy and two teenagers. No blackout curtains and couldnt turn the light off outside the room so we were lit up all night. Noise all night outside and upstairs. Refrig barely kept food cool, all light bulbs burnt out in bathroom except one, wet spot on the bed when we arrived, mold and corrosion on bathtub drain which came off during showers, carpet torn across seam, found small things on floor including an earring, which puppy almost swallowed, people take refuge from rain under the overhang outside our door, which is a shock when you open the door.Woman at desk during check in was the good thing at the motel.
Location was fine. Staff was nice. Far underwhelmed by the room though. We got tucked into a room that was across the street from the rest of the motel and the curtains were dirty as were the bed skirts. The furniture was literally falling apart. The way it was put together most of it just felt like random pieces of wood they could scrounge up and place where they could. Noise wasn’t an issue because we were in a back corner. It wasn’t awful but we probably wouldn’t choose this place first. Nothing bad enough to make a complaint about, just to review because i would’ve liked to know before staying as well
This place is absolutely disgusting and very over priced! Walls were literally pealing off and the carpet was coming up and stained. The room reeked of bleach and made us sick within five minutes of being inside. The staff is extremely rude as well, they only care about the money and not their customers; very poor custom service skills. Will never go back and would absolutely under no circumstance recommend to anyone.
NOTE! CHECK-IN is at the motel’s sister motel, the Coast River Motel at 800 S. Holladay Dr., a 4-minute drive or 15-minute walk away. I advised the front desk that none of the 4(!) confirmation/deposit emails I received mentioned that check-in was off-site; they were unaware and said they’d pass it on.The motel is an old-school 12-unit place on the corner across the street from the SaltLine Hotel (Google Maps makes them look like they’re on the same block).Good, clean, basic budget motel for the area, in excellent location within easy walk of the beach and restaurants and shops. Rooms are indeed very compact! High ceilings help make them feel a bit bigger. Nice to see bulk toiletries dispenser in the shower to cut down on single-use plastic waste, but it’d be nice if they were labeled so we know what is what - mine had two soapy products but no sign of whether they were body soap? shampoo?
Cute and warm pool. The beds we had 2 double beds were sooooo comfortable. The room had mini refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker. The pool was small but perfect temperature. Only thing I was distracted by negatively was the carpet in our room felt yucky. I dunno if it was a damp feeling from a previous tenants wet feet from pool or shower?? Or it plainly needed a shampooing. I would come back even still.
Our bed was comfortable and the staff were nice. The room was located next to the pool and had an extremely powerful chemical smell. The towels were dirty but the price was right. You get what you pay for.
Absolutely amazing, they have a cabin feel to the little condo style rooms we had the 1 king 2 queen room. Very clean and very nice polite people. Excited to visit again thank you for your amazing motel.Pros:Nice peopleClean roomsWarm heated poolVery spaciousGreat pricesClose to everythingCons:No hot tub :-( but all the pros make up for that :-)
For $200 (not including taxes) I expected A LOT more. Room # 6 is pretty run down. The bedding is clean and crisp. I will not return. I had an awesome room in Astoria last night, Riverwalk Inn, I think it was around $120, slightly dated, but really nice. I wish I had kept my room there, its only a 40 min drive to Cannon Beach from Astoria.
Brady Bunch Retro Heaven! This place is fantastic :-) its like walking back in time LOL. Paneled walls, avocado green bathtubs, 60s light fixtures, and an actual room key to go with your room! Youve got to see this place before they tear it down. Its great! And the location was absolutely fantastic. We had a group of five people with a full kitchen, living area, and three large beds. Lots of room. There was an indoor pool although we did not use it this trip :-) enjoy!
An older motel with small rooms and fantastic staff. They got our room ready early because we were exhausted from driving all night and told us everything we needed to know to enjoy the town and the beach. The location almost couldnt be better. The town is small so everything is within walking distance. This place is pretty expensive but its consistent with the town.
Very spacious rooms. Beds were comfortable. Walking distance from town and beach. Excellent customer service! Not modern looking at all but has a cozy home feeling. Price was reasonable based on location and room size. Definitely staying here again!
Reserved this room for a weekend away with friends. We were a little disappointed. While the location was perfect, our room left a lot to be desired. It was very dark and wasn’t too cozy. We paid a buttload and didn’t feel that we received our money’s worth at all. It did it’s job, but we wish it had been better.
For what it is, it was great for me and 2 teenagers. I got 2 bedrooms and a small kitchen/living room. We walked to the beach in 3 minutes, parking was free and the wi-fi worked well for the teenagers (nuff said). The only thing was - I forgot we needed to check in at the Inn up the street so that was mildly inconvenient.
Friendly staff, clean room, contently located down from the beach. However the rooms are not well insulated, so its noisy, no AC hot those hot summer days, small parking lot but there is street side parking. My wife and I checked out 2 days early and they did give us a refund on the two days we prepaid for with a smile, the only reason we checked out early is because we wanted a more romantic room for our anniversary which became available.
OYO was awful to book with...one hand does not know what the other is doing. No front desk at City Center and they send you to another property to get your key, but OYO was clueless. NOT clean enough for me. Dust bunnies thick on the wall sconce, for instance. YUK. And the linens all smelled musty. Went during the Volleyball Tourney so horrid price for the little you got. Close to beach and cuteness of Seaside, but soooo would not stay there again.
The Staff made our trip!!! Although hotel is a little run down mostly just a older hotel, My girlfriend and I came to conclusion that the young man (Chris) must have worked at a resort in a bigger city before moving to seaside because even though he was constantly answering calls and helping guests he multi tasked flawlessly and gave us the best tips on what to do and where to go. This is not the best place but clean and to be honest the cheapest place in town which isnt saying much seeing as rates are pretty high during summer. But thank you Chris for the advice and making our trip great!!! And thank you city center for at least having clean beds, rooms and great staff
Stayed last weekend and the bed was really comfortable and we found the rooms to be very quaint. HOWEVER, each morning I was awakened by the loud housekeeping crew. When I looked out the window, there were several of the crew talking VERY loudly (yelling) and rolling carts back and forth, repeatedly. We were in Room 212 and surrounded by the housekeeping quarters, a laundry room and the ice machine. Dont stay in Room 212. There was also a wooden ramp outside our room. The constant rumbling of the carts was so irritating. It lasted for about 2 hours each morning. Also, we had to request hot water for our shower and never got hot water in our bathroom sink.
Not a hotel for me, We showed up really late to seaside...like 3am and slept in our car. No biggie it was a random trip, unplanned on our part. After we got up and around and played on the beach we were in the mood for a hotel room so we searched online cause random trip budget was limited and well....shower. this is the only place under $100.00 in town so we stop in to check it out. The person at front desk was nice, but wouldnt let us see a room cause non were clean, but money was short and this was our only choice so paid for a room...it was miraculously immediately available (shady) so we took a quick trip to our room.I didnt expect a lot, and thats good because Id hate to have been disappointed. The bed was not comfy, no biggie, but the whole room felt really unclean. Dont get me wrong it looked clean, but it was old, outdated, bedding was tattered, and the bathroom was not in great condition. Everything worked but only kinda, like the shower worked but had a low flow head and it drained super slow regardless somehow. We full on went back to the desk and got a refund, stayed in the car again, beach had free showers anyway.
First and foremost CLEAN BED AND SHEETS I took my black light to the bedding and to my absolute satisfaction absolutely no stains or hidden nastys. The outside looks a little worn down but the inside looks a tad better. The room was small but your not paying to have a huge room your paying to be close to the beach and the strip with enough distance for a quiet night. The only reason for 4 star review was the bathroom. Im 64 and there is no way with my height to take a shower in the motel. However if youre short or Id say a little below average height, itd be no issue. My suggestion would be for a different shower head that would allow taller occupants to utilize the shower.Overall a great place to rest in a clean and comfortable bed without breaking the bank.
Staff is nice. Floors in the room need cleaned BAD. Our feet are black from walking around on them. There is a nasty yellow spot on the bath towel you step on after showering. One of the tiles in the bathroom floor is sunken in so it’s probably from that, but I am thoroughly disgusted. I pre paid for two days which is the only reason we’re staying the second night. Will not be back.
This motel has small rooms that are usually inexpensive but arent for everyone. When we opened the door to our room we found a water stain on the sealing but didnt think anything about it until we returned from our walk on the beach. We had turned on the heat in the room and when we had returned found plaster on the bed. Needs some attention and updates.
Should be rated for what it is: a relatively cheap but totally acceptable motel. Booked easily, showed up and was promptly assisted. Room was clean, furniture typical, TV had plenty of channels, and close walking distance to the downtown strip as well as a couple nearby restaurants. Neighbors were a bit noisy into the night, especially those outside (which the walls and windows dont block much), but otherwise the stay was fine. Great option if youre just looking for somewhere to hang your hat at night.
The city center motel was underwhelming. First off they didn’t accept AAA for a discount. Also, the clerk “Debbie” misguided us. We had to go to two different locations and furthermore we had to call “Debbie” to get the exact location which in my opinion was a hassle. Fortunately the location was closer to the beach. So in the end we were fairly satisfied with this motel. The bed was very comfortable.
This place was 200 bucks for a coffin sized room. It smelled very musty. The wall near the shower was bubbled out and moldy. The WiFi password provided in room didnt work. Half the cable channels that were listed on the in room guide didnt come on with a contact cable company message, 2 channels stopped in the middle of a movie with a message to contact cable provider. The portable fan in the room was extremely dirty and caked with dirt. There was a working mini fridge and microwave.
Staff was very rude, refused to let me check in, refused a refund and I found out afterwards, that I wasnt the first person they have screwed over like that. Dont go there or to the coast River.. they are the worst motels you will ever experience, and thats not even counting that the owners who run it will rip you off happily without a second thought. I would rather stay at pine cove then that property, or the coast River inn.
DO NOT STAY HERE!My room was dark and dated.BUT that was NOT the real issue... my room smelled like animal urine! The worst part... they used some type of cleaner/spray to cover the smell. (Which didn’t)It was VERY strong and toxic. I had a head ache/nauseated and was sneezing/couching the whole time I was in the room. I found out the ONLY window that I could open was the one in the bathroom. WHAT A TOXIC MESS!!!!!!!!!Great way to poison your guests!!!!!!!!!Don’t stay in the place you will be sick!
Very small room but when you are at the ocean you dont spend too much time in the room anyway. Very clean and just a block and a half from the Seaside Aquarium and the beach itself. Perfect visit for my husband and my 22nd Anniversary!
Smallest queen size bed/ room I have ever seen. The bathroom is literally 1 step from the bed. They have thier own vehicles parked (including a boat)making it difficult to get out of the small parking area. TV remote menu doesnt work, NO CLOSET, looks like use to be, but is locked.
The staff was very friendly. There were plenty of towels in the room. The beds were great, super comfortable. Room was nice and its really close to the beach and Seaside attractions. I would definitely stay here again, great inexpensive experience!
Great staff and very clean rooms. The room we stayed in was very cozy and we loved the color they chose. We were able to walk to all the places in town thanks to the location. Will definitely stay again
We had a 2 night stay in July and must say that the room was very clean and well presented, basic, but comfortable. Position was good too.Recommended.
Location is great, small rooms and not a single hook or place to hang a jacket or shirt or purse. Bed slants down on one side but comfy. Better then sleeping in a camper or car.
Great location. Clean, quiet rooms. Felt safe as a solo traveler. Cable didn’t work, wifi was in and out; both disappointing for the price I paid! Room size a little small, but ok for one or two people.
Is that a hot tub, behind this locked door on the pool area?Room and bathroom are spacious. Bathroom is huge, actually. Havent tried the shower yet. Will be updating cause I just got here and everything seems fine- there is no shower or bathroom in the pool area-and out room is on a differ block around the street-so thats a worry.Mainly, right now, Im just wanting to know why the hot tub is locked up???Water temp in the pool is nice and warm. The pool is small, but so are my kids, so that works out well.Other reviewers complained about the water pressure: The pressure and temperature in our room is great. A couple up cheap updates would really up the game in here:A. Switch out the old (and I mean old) shower curtain rods with the new, curved style.I was battling an attack cutain my whole shower (gross).B. Update the shower heads so we can control the water flow.B. There is a distinct lack of electrical outlets in the room. Switch out a lamp or two with the kind that have plugs and USB ports built in.
The room was nice for a little beach bungalow, how the lights in the room did not work. Luckily it was summer time so the sun was out but still not great service for the price of the room. It was definitely over priced for the size as it was about 200-300 square feet.
The location is perfect. Just a block from the beach, Aquarium, Carousel Mall & restaurants. I recommend a room with a full kitchen (includes kitchen supplies needed during ur stay). They are more private, quiet and spacious. The pool is 4.5` deep (small) w/no hot tub or sauna & only open till 9pm~perfect for kids. Plenty of hot water and clean but warn. The staff were courteous and friendly. For the price It`s perfect! I will definitely return!
I thought the decor was very nice. Cute place. As an allergy ridden person found the rooms to be over perfumed. I was looking for one of those plug in fresheners so I could unplug it.
Cheaper than the others we checked out. Incredibly comfortable mattress and pillows. Fantastic water pressure and HOT water in the shower! And free taffy!! The only downside was everyone around us had ten loud af children with them but that was not the motels fault. You will be seeing us again when we come back to Seaside!
Stayed in a single queen room for 2 nights. Room was very clean, and it was easy (2-5 min) walking distance to many restaurants, bars, candy stores, art galleries, gift stores, and the beach. Didnt use the pool. They give you a little bag of taffy in the room, and you get a 10% discount at a few local walking-distance (5 min or less) eateries. Only 4 stars because it wasnt especially impressive; the deadbolt didnt lock from the outside, the soap smelled weird, and the room was fairly small. But it was basically what I expected for ~$60/night
Clean and comfortable. Office staff was okay, kind of snotty when I asked a question about the room. The neighborhood was noisy but its in the heart of the city so I guess its going to be crazy. Otherwise it was nice to be able to walk everywhere.
BAD. Do not stay hear. we paid $250 for a 2 bed room. The carpet was disgusting with animal stains everywhere. we couldnt even fabreez the stink out of the room. there was stains on the sheets, the toilet leaked, and we found a pair of used underwear on the closet shelf. My nightmare, i slept in my truck because there was no other option by the time we figured out what a dump it was. You are dooped if you rent a room here no doubt. it should be against the law.
We will never stay here again. Our shower drain did not work and when we told the front desk staff there were 2 inches of standing water in the shower they handed us a container of Drano & a dirty plunger (that had toilet paper stuck to it) to fix it ourselves. We were told they tried to get us a room at another motel of theirs a few blocks away, but were not able to. The front desk staff fixed the shower the best he could but it still did not work properly.
Cute place inside. We were unaware there was no A/C. It was cool at night, but our window had no screen, so we couldnt have the window open. So the room was very stuffy and too warm. Very hard bed. Terrible night sleep.
This motel was amazing! It was right Downton so you could walk right to all the shops and restraunts! It also was an amazing room! There was one queen bed, one full bed, and a full pullout bed couch. There were 3 TVs and a full kitchen. The bathroom was really nice as well with a clean shower, toilet, and sink. The stay there was amazing and made my time at Seaside all the more enjoyable 😁
The one good thing about the location was also its downfall. Close to all the downtown restaurants and shops, but the noise of drunk people walking by your room all night long. The rooms were very old and outdated. Smelled of old musty antiques. The water faucets in the sink and the shower were in disrepair. Broken tiles in the bathroom. VERY small bathroom space. A tall person would hit his/her knees on the wall heater in front of the toilet.
Extremely loud first and foremost. You can even say as much as you can hear both neighbors conversations at regular volume, to say the least.Doors locks aren’t secure, very loose. And check in is 4pm! Anyone with kids knows coming from out of town you don’t want to wait until 4 pm to check in so your kids can nap......no continental breakfast.... kinda not surprised for what the rooms were like in that aspect. If there would have been any other hotel with a reasonable availability, we would not have came here.Live and learn...
Noisy, party until after midnight, but no one in office at that time to talk to. Also asked for quiet room, they gave us one across from the pool, with screaming people coming and going. Rooms too small, outdated, no outlets in bathroom, had to unplug fridge to dry my hair. No chairs to sit on, some tv channels didnt work. Insecure lock, no dead bolt?? Eeeesshhh...Staff friendly and helpful, beds comfortable, good pillows. Good coffee, good location.Definitely needs some love.
Great place, budget friendly, awesome friendly & helpful staff, we stayed in #215, it had micro, fridge, coffee maker, shower, comfy bed, clean & highly recommended place to stay.. only con was the front door had a gap but we layed towel to block draft.. needs a chair or 2 so we dont have to sit on the bed at all times but totally minor compared to our great stay 2 nights.. well definitely be back! Thank you to the great staff.. 5 star budget friendly. Our go to place whenever we visit seaside.
We got the room with 1 queen bed. The room was small and stuffy. No AC. Some of the outlets dont work. Siding on the building is just about falling off. Pool is small and in a small room that reeks of chlorine and there are no bathrooms. One of the windows in the pool room is broken and wont close which means its extra cold getting out.Service at the desk was fast and it was easy to book the room online. The bed is comfortable(ish) and the blanket is thicker than most hotels. It wasnt nessicarially a bad stay, but next time Im in town Ill be staying somewhere else.
Being a block away from the beach is great and all, but the rooms just cut it down. The room wasnt bad, but it looked nothing like the rooms in the pictures. Way more beat down and the set up was worlds apart. I will say it was clean, but i dislike being misslead. Wouldve been great if i wasnt thrown off by the dishonesty.
We did have to drive to another office. The office where we stayed was closed. They informed us it was on 12 rooms so there was no need for a office employee. Would of be better to be informed about that before hand. Rooms were very clean upkept. I would recommend staying there. Close to beach and restaurants.
The room was very SMALL. It was about 2 blocks from the beach which was nice. At night it was very hot and there is no AIR CONDITIONING in the room so you just suffer through it. Thank goodness we were only there for one night. In the future we will find a different place to stay that has air conditioning.
Very dirty and extremely small room for an outrageous price. I dont recommend staying here unless absolutely last resort. Although sleeping in a tent would have been better. $400+ for 1 night just because of location and time of year totally Nuts.
Great pet friendly rooms! We got the family sweet... It has a kitchen, 1 king and 2 queen beds in separate rooms! Nice friendly staff, close to the beach and much more! The kids loved the pool! A flat screen tv and free Wi-Fi to top it off :)
No extended check, manager is the rude, dirty, smells, and TV cuts out every 5 minutes or so for 20 minutes at a time. Toilets leaked, heater is very outdated and barely kept the room warm.Found dirt and hair inside the sheets.Water damage on ceiling with mold.
The room was small and the finishes were rough. Not a bad nights sleep. The coast was busy this weekend and it was available at the last minute. Could totally use some love but not terrible overall.
It was the cheapest option and it felt like it. Run down rooms. No A.C. Poorly built rooms. Very loud . Indoor pool was ice cold. Says dog friendly but you had to walk two blocks for them to do thier business. No where for the at the motel. Uncomfortable beds. Didnt feel very secure in my room. Spend a little more and get a lot more in my opinion.
The room itself was fine overall and the king sized bed was comfortable. Staff was friendly amd location was very close to the beach as well as citys shopping center. Nothing absolutely outstanding but nothing to deter me from staying again.
Carpet was ripped and dirty. Bed was located a few feet by the bathroom door. No extra towels were provided when requested. Location was good .. Near beach and aquarium, center of town!
This is an absolutely wonderful ♥️ motel! We needed 3 days away that we could afford, so we booked this budget motel. Its beautiful, the rooms are clean and beautiful, the location is perfect, the service is impressive and phenomenal, stay here before they do what they have every right to do and raise their prices! So cozy and warm 😍
Nice room, friendly staff, and a good price. Dog bones for my dog and taffy for me. The bathroom could use a remodel, or at least a new shower head, but I would definitely stay here again.
Best deal in town. Lowest price but with the same comfy beds you get at a $150 joint. Clean as a whistle. Only issue I had was shower was not quite hot enough, but at $47 how can you complain?
I booked a room after my friend had her baby at the Seaside hospital; I booked it at 9pm, and went into room just to make sure key worked, before heading back to hospital. I sat on edge of bed for a moment to text someone before leaving, and while there I couldnt handle the smell of the room (not just an off smell you smell when you first walk in and you adjust to it, but one you could continue smelling 10 minutes later), and I could literally hear people talking on 3 sides of me through the walls; not like mumbles of what they were saying, but full on every word they were saying through a wall, and another neighbor who was diagonal from me I could hear outside talking to someone on the phone so had noise coming from all 4 ways. So bad smell, and noise so loud I couldnt sleep if I tried. I was a single person so they put me in a small room with a full bed, which was crammed against the outside wall which had the window at the end of the bed, which had a curtain on it that was not big enough, so people could watch me sleeping if they looked through it, and if i positioned it better so they couldnt see me much, it left a 4 gap on the other side, so people could see me if I walked by into the kitchen area (would have to make sure fully dressed at all times). I went back to the hospital, but how bad my room was wouldnt leave my head, and ended up going to another one because I was preparing for the worst nights sleep of my life it was so noisy and was fearful there might be bedbugs or something with how bad it was. I returned my key to the front office within 2 hours of having reserved it which was fully closed/couldnt speak to anyone, and put key in drop box with an attached note that asked for a refund and that I did nothing more in the room than sit on the edge of bed. I didnt even use the restroom. I did not get a refund. I knew it wouldnt be fancy at $65 a night, alls I needed was a place to sleep, but this place was ridiculous; I stay in cheap hotels all the time when I travel and this was the worst; Ive never got up and left the hotel to find another one it was so bad. The cheap hotel I stayed in in Redmond with blood on the wall at least gets a 4 star. Additionally, parking area was full, and also only had a few spots; not sure that it even had enough spots for the rooms that were there in that section. Had to park on street where two drugged out people were hanging out and worried about my car. Rooms very outdated (which is what I would expect from a $65 a night hotel, but not everything else).
Stay here often... close to beach, aquarium, and main strip. Indoor pool is nice. Room was quaint and pets ok with fee. For those who play pokemongo... gym within sitting in our room and 3 others a block away. Will stay again :)
The room was very uncomfortable. Just very small. The bed was small for two people and we were traveling with pets so it was just incredibly uncomfortable. Now if you are traveling alone it probably would be better suited.
The noise issue has been reviewed endless amount of times and it really needs to be addressed. I wish I read them prior to staying here or I would not have. It appears the office closes at 10pm and there is no one on site after that, leaving it up to the residents to try and manage quiet hours. This of course is absurd to expect as most of the people who are making noise are intoxicated, unreasonable and have no problem ruining everyone else’s vacation. With that being said, we were one of many who had an awful stay due to way too many intoxicated adults in one room partying until 5am in the room and in the parking lot. Many residents attempted to reason with them but they became irate and impossible. At one point the police arrived to inform them that one of their friends was running around in the street and was taken into custody. For 250.00 a night, many families and their children had a horrible night. And per past reviews, this is an ongoing and not addressed issue. There needs to be someone onsite to monitor safety. Safety should be a basic right to people, period.
Had room above the office. It was absolutely terrible. 10 days on vacation and this was the worst place we stayed. No deadbolt on the door, bathroom window didnt lock and no screen on either window, not at all secure. Water in the swimming pool was cloudy, we didnt dare get in. So called tub was old with a very poor resurface job and the faucet constantly leaked. Will never stay here again and wont recommend to anyone.
Overall a good place to stay we have been there every year over the past 5 years. We called the day we left after we got home this evening after we realized we left something behind. Called right away and spoke with an EXTREMELY rude gentleman John who told us to come get it if we wanted it, said he was a manager and that was it. We offered to pay the shipping and they guy continued to be very rude. Because of the horrible customer service we will not be going back!!
Its not the prettiest but its clean and has rooms that fits the family! Full kitchen and table. You save money by cooking your own food. My family and I have come here for the last 4 years! You get to enjoy Seaside and only a block from the beach!
Lovely sheets, quick check in, comfortable bed, pool... But it smelled a little strong of bleach on first arrival until I aired the room a bit, also the thermostat didnt seem very up to date.
Big room and clean with king bed $80. The person in the room next to seems to be a drug dealer had heated dispute with customer. I thought police would show so loud.
Cheap with a great location. Fridge and microwave in each room. However, no hot tub, small pool, and house keeping didnt make our bed each day. Overall, not bad.
Clean but put right next to laundry employee area. They were very inconsiderate in early morning hours. When on vaca not wanting awaken by employees yelling across the parking lot at each other. Kitchenette consisted of microwave and dorm size fridge. Very small. Outside needs a lot of t.l.c.. man arrested for running naked on drugs. 1 of those you stay only once. Do not reattempt. Too much money for what you get.
You get what you pay for. It is a hotel room. The room had its faults, but it is altogether a functional hotel. Swimming pool is heated very hot and is enjoyable. Very short walk to the beach. Nice and removed from the main strip so it is nice and quiet.
Bed was a little stiff for me. Pillows were ok. Carpet felt wet . Pet friendly a plus. Indoor pool is nice. Shower was a little small but ok. Overall good spot
Charming!! My husband and I enjoyed our stay very much and felt very safe. Right in the heart of downtown Seaside, we were able to walk to anyplace within minutes! Great hospitable staff, and clean rooms!
OMG the worst place ever. THE ROOM WAS VERY SMALL No air conditioning, no screen in the window so at least the window could be open. Had to go to a complete different place to check in, was NOT WORTH $200.00. GUEST BE AWARE.
Loved our stay, we keep coming back. Not only is it affordable, it has a heated pool, nice and clean rooms, comfortable beds and pillows, friendly staff, coffee fixings in the lobby, and a 2 minute walk to the ocean.
I book a room thru 3rd party and had issues but Cynthia(Desk clerk) and Carmen(manager) went above and beyond to help me solve issue. Got best service here then anywhere else in seaside I have stayed. This is now the only place I will stay when I go to seaside. Thank you ladies. And my dog loved it to. Clean rooms great location. Do yourself a favor and stay here. You will want to come back. Muesum, arcade, mall, and everything downtown rt next door.
Terrible room near very loud street next to pool with SCREAMING KIDS. CALLED office 10 pm and basically told to go shut the windows at the pool myself. Dog friendly and close to everything.. Rooms are Very old and the showers do not work. Stood in 1 foot of water entire shower. Not good.😣
Centrally located and with parking. The furniture looks a bit worn around the edges, but everything was fresh and clean. The bed was nice and comfortable. Also a great place for pets.
Love this quant little gem in seaside. Location is perfect and close to the beach without the hefty prices of beach front rooms. Nice beds, clean rooms, and great customer service. We will be back many times.
A bit pricey for what it is, however the cleanliness, comfortable bed, and excellent and friendly staff make it a worthwhile stay! Not just another room with a bed! I would definitely stay there again.
Check in/out clerk was really cool (awesome and cheery and fun to talk too), there was qn ice machine which is unusual for the kind of motel atmosphere that Im use too, room and bathroom clean, bed and pillows super comfy, bottom sheets were not fitted but we big/long enough that I didnt have to keep getting up and tucking in the sheets like I did the night before in another motel, thanks a bunch for having a 4oz coffee maker in the room with coffee sugar and creamer provided, cable cord from cable box to tv needs to be replaced but with moving it around I was able to get the tv to go from slight snowy to clear and thanks for the complimentary taffy with a great idea to sale for charity. It was an awesome stay and highly recommend this location. Theres no continental breakfast but theres resturants nearby.
Nice clean rooms. Their prices follow the market, so on a busy weekend, the cost of a room may not be in line with what you get. But its better than sleeping on the beach.
New owners/management? Very lacking! Poorly ran. Rooms with broken equipment. Rude employees(front desk). Not happy! Very disappointed with my stay! When new people run....... Will return. Have been staying here for years. Sad! 😢😳
I love this motel. Staff cleans and stocks room every day, complementary salt water taffy, one block to the beach. Its within walking distance to everything, no need to drive anywhere. My son and I would definitely stay here again.
My daughter and I enjoyed the location! Great prices!! The room was clean and inviting. The customer service was fantastic. I will definitely be back!! Thank you so much!
When we came out here every six mths. we stay here showers got good water pressure just a nice place to can hear the waves from the ocean
Very center to about everything. Walking distance to most of the resteraunts and shops. Rooms are very small for the ones with 1 queen bed only room to walk around the bed and bathrooms have no counter. But still decent place to stay for reasonable amount a night. I would recommend if you want to save money on room to spend more shopping.
The room was extremely small. The check-in was confusing because I had to go to a completely separate location half a mile away. It was absolutely overpriced. If you’re desperate and you have money it’s great. But there are way better options.
The rooms were small but very nice and comfortable. Very clean. its location was really good within a block from the beach. A small indoor heated pool was nice.
Been staying here for years, was there probably 10 times last year alone. I used to love coming here for the price. Its not the newest, its a little dated and could use some work room wise, but they are ok, and 3 blocks isnt too bad to walk to the beach, again both contingent on the price. Ive now called twice so far to book and was treated quite rudely on the phone both times. First was regarding spring beak, and some gentleman basically didnt want to answer any questions and just made me feel like I was bothering him. Today I called to book a night for the Sunday of memorial day. I thought it might be sold out, but to my surprise they werent. Then I was told the New price of a single room. Close to 200$!!! I was paying 80 last summer and 50 in the winter. When I asked why the huge mark up some lady named lacey (I think), who claimed to be the manager, said we gotta make a living dude, then hung up on me. I called back to let someone in charge know that I was paying 80 all last year, and that the Shilo gives ocean front views away for 150$. She said whats your point? In a real rude manner. Then she told me I didnt pay 80 a night last year and their prices were 150$ a night all summer. I told her that was a lie, and she started arguing with me. These rooms and location are noooo where close to being 200$ a night. Just lost a loyal customer because of pricing, and lacey.
Looks like it was was recently updated and the room was very clean. Our room was the closest to the highway and thought we’d be bothered by the noise, but didn’t hear it at all. The bed was comfortable and I’d stay here again!
Very outdated. Outlets are very loose. My phones charger could barely stay plugged in. Carpet is old and room.smelled musty, that cleared after we open windows. Toilet seat in bathroom was broken. On the plus side, it was a fair value and close to the beach and restaurants.
The rooms were nice and spacious, and it was wonderful to have three big beds for everyones comfort in my family, plus a full kitchen so we didnt spend too much money eating out. Great location next to evwrything!
Our stay here was great. The person at the front desk was extremely nice. The beds were comfortable. The room was very clean. I would stay here again.
When I first opened the door the room had a very bad stinch to it. When I walked into the bathroom I found 2 dead cockroaches on the floor. You could hear other people in the other rooms and it was loud way past 2am.luckly I live in Ohio and I wont have to return to this so called motel anymore.
This is our second year staying at the City Center Motel after loving our room last year! This motel is great for large families (family of six here)the staff has been nothing but friendly the heated pool is great and you cant beat the walk to the sand :)
This was both the most expensive and the worst motel in which weve slept during a week-long road trip in Oregon.Room looked kind of old, mattress was way too soft, water tasted bad, there was a bright light right out of one of our windows that couldnt be turned off and no good blinds (so we had to sleep with quite a bright light in the room), weird noises coming periodically from the bathroom (sounded like someone knocking, creepy), no air conditioning..... and you cant say you offer free Wifi if it doesnt work!!!!!!!!!
Housekeeping staff is amazing!! Prices are great for a costal town! Would give 5 stars but the front desk employees need some MAJOR work with their social skills and customer service!!
There is no pool or hot tubIt was torn down and there is only 13 units now
Have been coming to city center since high school. Miss the larger pool. But always a nice stay. Had a bad night due to drunks arguing at 3am. Cant blame hotel for that. Thank you for always being dependable see you soon.
I was very pleased to find out it wasnt just your Standard Hotel it was more of a box duplex whith its own Living Spaces and extremely large bathroom. It has a midsize heated Indoor pool.
The room was a Dump Not near worth the charges!!!!! In room less then 2hrs looking for a decent room that I didn’t feel like I was gonna be stabbed if I opened the door. Manager refused refund due to being there while Trying to get the Hell out of there!! Very Rude and Unperfesional!! Face it lady ur Rooms are for Tweekers!!!
The woman at the desk was really helpful and nice. The room was super clean and the pet fee was only $10 a night. Plus, there was a pokestop right next to our room!
To the owners..Im so mad right now! Ive spent 1500.09dollars here and for NO reason have to check out on Sunday! The place is rarely full...but my money is no good! I will spread the word on Face book about the inhospitable behavior!Back at it again. Checked my bank statements and realized they took an extra $79 from my account for another day that I was not there for without autorization. Now they refuse to refund the stolen money. Thiefs.
Terrible hotel....outlets far an few between then lucky to get one that works for you. Thought I got a king size room a parking spot was bigger. Lighting was bad bathroom way to small an everything in the room was very very old. Would not stay here.
