Just bought 2 new belly rings from here. I noticed after I bought it, the material was not surgical stainless steel and really cheap. I found the same belly rings on shein for $1 and copper material. Copper is not recommended for piercings because it is a low grade metal and can lead to infections. Plus copper tarnishes quickly. Be sure to check shein before you buy items from here, especially jewelry.

Aw, guys, it was beautiful. This was a cool little place in the 90s to take a drive to . My husband and I took an afternoon to go back in time, and it did not disappoint. Everything you would want and more under 1 roof. The memory was worth the drive.Love my Penny Lane zip-up!

Great little local shop with a large selection of everything from a lava lamps, hippos, candles, body jewelry, incense, glass pipes and water pipes, jars, papers, stickers, pins, clothes, and costumes and the list goes on! Always helpful staff and a really good vibe as soon as you walk in!

Came in need of a new nose ring, left feeling like I had a strange new lease on life. So many interesting things decorating the walls! You truly will not understand how big this place is until you go inside. Every time I entered a room I was expecting it to be the last, and yet there was still another room to explore.

We first visited this shop a few years back and loved it! We visited again this past summer and love it even more! The shop owner was roaming around, greeting every customer like family, gave my little boys a plush bunny each, that they still carry to bed with them every night! It was the kindest thing that has ever happened to us whilst visiting out of town! We cannot wait to go back and stock up on more tie-dye, they literally have the best tie-dye around and much much more, you could spend hours in this store and not see it all! Definitely worth the drive :)

Its not worth ordering online to pickup in-store, doing so creates too much of a hassle for everyone involved. You are better off going inside.

Recently last few times Ive come here a couple devices I bought for smoking last like 2 days and malfunction or fall apart, im done with pennylane (get it together and quit buying cheap products and pretending they have value)...Never have this problem at Happy Daze...not once

I love love love coming here. The different sections they have in this store has kept my interest, and each room in the building (even upstairs) you can always find something for everyone.My disappoint lies in the pants section and clothing for women. I feel unless youre a size 0 or a skinny medium you wont fit into their clothes due to lack of plus sizes. I think I found one outfit that was a 2x and the waistband still didnt quite look like it would fit. Now, everyones sizes is different, but its always something to consider for us bigger gals that love tye dye fashion...as much as I love Amazon and other retailers, Ive supported Penny Lane for a good number of years! I think a few of the OGs are still around.I always make it a point to stop through when I do decide to come to Springfield. It is definitely one of my first stops.

I love this place. I love how it smells when you walk in. I love all the selection and the deals. I love how the workers treat me when Im shopping. They also have good prices. I love the hemp necklaces they have there the most out of it all its the help necklace for me. :)

Went to visit Springfield for thanksgiving and heard from a few locals about this place. Finally decided that i had to check it out before heading home and i was blown away. Penny Lane Gifts is not just a store, its a cool shop with lots of history and good people. Its a 2 floor establishment with all your hippie needs from tapestrys, incense, water pipes, and clothing. The blacklight room was my favorite part of the shop with lots of cool posters and 3D carpet. Not to mention the artwork outside and inside of the place was phenomenal. It wont be a while until i head to Springfield again but when I do I will definitely be stopping in to Penny Lane to check out the updated merchandise and more of the local artist work plastered around the place, next time ill even add my name to the visitors stairs. Everything was reasonably priced and Id recommend anyone whos visiting Springfield to stop into Penny Lane.

Very cool place with lots of unique items. My entire family thought it was fun. A great stop while in Springfield. I got this awesome wood box from Poland and a few other small things including a mystery box that my kids wanted which wasn’t bad! Can’t beat a gift shop with history!

We havent been home in five years and our first visit back they are giving our kids teddy bears. So so sweet!!!

She made it seem like a quasi-trippy gift store that has an eclectic collection of odds and ends. Doing what I normally do, I headed down there with a few friends to check it out.Sure enough, Penny Lane is exactly like it was described. A large collection of odds and ends with something for everyone. The store itself is massive. It has a bit of a ‘antique mall’ layout to it. One room or section will be one theme and then walking into another room will have a different theme or layout.We saw a ton of cool things. Stuff from Star Wars to Willie Nelson to Harley Davidson. There is something there for anyone and everyone. I recommended this place to my dad and he loved it. He found himself some cool things to get, despite not being a materialistic person himself.My favorite room was the Black Light room, as seen in the main photo above. It was trippy. I’ve been around black lights before and have seen the effects it has on things, but the extent of these black rooms was intense and immense. Everything illuminated. Everything glowed.I didn’t end up buying anything there but I did see a few things I was interested in. My next trip back, I will definitely be picking up a few things to spruce up my home.

I havent been here in a long time and boy has it changed. What was upstairs is now downstairs and the layouts are a little bit different but its still cool. I just wish they had more branded clothing in stock when I was there.

We went here on April 21st,2021. The staff were friendly except the cashier in the back was a bit harassing. I wanted to purchase a couple of shirts but had not made up my mind yet ..the cashier in the back room kept trying to take it from me and give it to the front cashier which I had explained that I may need a different size and wasnt sure about the shirt just yet. She did keep insisting on taking it so I finally gave in . Luckily the shirt fit fine but I felt very uneasy with her lingering around me to take my things . I did purchase 3 shirts that day .. it was $55 . Since I really felt uncomfortable and felt like I wasnt able to look at things so we left pretty fast .

Ive only been here a few times, but its always nice to see what they have. They have a large array of band apparel, tv shows and movie related apparel, and much more. They dont have a lot of the newer bands, but thats okay! Found a personal liking for the tie dye hoodies, theyre so comfortable!

Was not happy with the piece i bought. It was fine when i picked it out but after it was opened at home the mouth piece was chipped under all the bubble wrap. And no chip in the box. Thats that. Maybe next time you should let the customer know you messed up b4 sending a broken piece the customer wanted out with them and you would be put on blast. Almost $200 was spent.

The staff was very helpful and friendly. If u were looking at something the staff would notice and be right at ur side asking if they could take something out for you. Would definitely return soon and recommend to anyone.

I always love coming here and looking around. An hour goes by quickly with the different rooms and the vibes, its awesome. You can get candles, Lil statuettes, rocks, and artifacts, and pieces for smoking and so much more

I love this place. Always something different here. My only problem with this place is that their clothes are very expensive. I wish they would do like Happy Days and have a buy 2 and get one free. That wouldnt be so bad then that would kind of make it a bit more affordable.

Since I was a meandering teenager I have found comfort in shopping with Penny Lane. My recent trip to Colo left me with a few needs upon return and I hadnt been here for a few years. Needless to say. The experience from staff and in general was still 10/10. The help you receive is second to none. And I cant help but tout this place for the longstanding reputation theyve upheld! Cheers!😁

I havent been in Penny Lane in years. I loved looking around and found some items I was needing. I will enjoy wearing my mask when out and about. I definitely will use my Sneak a Tok, I had one years ago and it got missed placed. Its been my favorite, I dont think I would ever find them again but I went to Penny Lane and they have all kinds of items you may need or find something you want. The staff are friendly and help if you have questions. A trip to Penny Lane was a nice experience maybe I shouldnt have let to many years go by without a visit and I would recommend going anytime. The prices are reasonable.

Penny Lane is one of my favorite local stores in Springfield. They have so many cool stuff. It’s always interesting coming here. The workers are really nice and down to earth. You can find the coolest gifts and I love their choices of pipes, they’re always different.

Their charging $4 for king palms and you can get them across the street for $1.50 at rocket stop. They also said the quartz I bought would fit my rigs titanium. I brought the piece in but of course they lie to get you to buy. So heres your 1 star. Go to happy daze! They charge a fair price. Worth the drive across town. This place rushes you!!! Let us shop! Let us size our pieces!

50 years and still the Coolest place in Springfield. Unique gifts, band t-shirts crystals and so much more. Take a stroll back to the 60s-80s in each unique room. Small and yet you need 1+ hours to see it all.

This is the original head shop in town that I remember. I have always gone here faithfully for all my music genre goodies. They have a lot of awesome pieces here, paraphernalia and art. About once a year I go in there to find that perfect thing that I can hang on my wall and they never let me down. This is the kind of place you end up not leaving for 2 hours cause there is just so much awesome to see! 👌🎭🎸🍀🌈🍄

This place is amazing. The amount of things they have is just mind blowing. There were so many different items of different types and cultures in there that it was almost overwhelming to find and process. Its a hippie/punk/stoner/witch/raver store. 13/10, would recommend for chill folks

Always love stopping in here when Im in Springfield. Been going here for almost 20 years love this place when I was a kid still love it as an adult. They have a rotating stock of shirts knickknacks and collectibles. Shirts are primarily band T-shirts, also have hoodies and coats when in season. Usually there is a variety of other apparel available hats bandanas beanies socks scarves Etc. Wide variety of body jewelry and posters. Candles and incense are probably some of the more significant items here. Rings and necklaces also available. Cardboard cutouts of various movie characters and celebrities. Posters are covering the walls of most of the building. Black light room covered with black light posters, neon paint lava lamps Etc. To much to look in all at once always finding something new. Really cool older building with a really nice layout. Pretty much one of the best novelty shops Ive ever been to. Great place to find items you wont find anywhere else.

Wow! This place has so many different items. They have this black light room that you can lose time in. Also they have a ton of pewter pieces. Oh and let me not forget the shirts...They have a lot. They also have a very nice selection of CBD oil!

Going there my whole life. And when I say my whole life, that even means when my mom was pregnant with me. Im very close to 48. Like 25 days. Just not the same place. Very commercialized now. Still get a lot hard to find stuff though. Just feel like the heart is gone.

Let me preface by saying that I really like this place. Unfortunately, this visit we had the displeasure of being helped by a guy who was not very friendly. We were at the counter, wanting to look at the stickers. We collect them. He rang our stuff up and gave us the total. $79.xx. Told him twice we were trying to look at the stickers and he just kept going with the payment. Nobody else there has a problem with us looking at them before we leave. Maybe he was upset because we were interfering with his conversation with the young lady who was also behind the counter. Either way, it was disappointing.

I have been going to Penny Lane since I was a teenage kid and at 56 I still feel like that teenage kid every time I walk into the store. My then girlfriend now wife got me a pipe from here in 1988 and I still use it to this day. Awe man... thats beautiful.

A store with a hippie vibe. Smells like incense and covered in tie-dye. Great place to get band tees and posters. They have some cool specialty items like intricate wooden jewelry boxes, pottery, necklaces, tapestries, and blown glass. You can get piercings, cleansers, and pipes as well. Its a neat place that you dont see much anymore.

This is a must see if you have never been. Buy local at a whole new level. I appreciate what Penny Lane has done for Springfield by faithfully serving a segment of our city with unique products and gifts. A store like Penny Lane cannot be easy to maintain in the age of the internet. Somehow, they survive and I think they are great.

Theres always something a little naughty that wakes up inside of you when you go to Penny Lane whether youre 15 years old or 50 years old. Its changed a lot since my childhood in that its much more bright however it has not lost any of its charm and dare I say verboten nature. That is, if you come from a certain type of household it would upset your mother to know that youve been going to this place, which makes you and your friends want to go all the more! I was there the other day and got a hell of a deal in the discount been on a couple of shirts that I will treasure for as long as they hold together. The staff are very accommodating and polite although they do like to talk Rowdy and yell at each other from across the store but thats how you do! A trip to Springfield without having a trip to Penny Lane is it trip wasted in my opinion.

This iconic store with psychedelic artwork and unique gifts for everyone as been a well known landmark in the capital city for generations. The staff will gladly assist customers in a safe clean environment. Mask required on entry.

Good place for metaphysical/hippy/stoner/metalhead type vibes. The employees are hit or miss, but try to be helpful. This is my go to if I need something off the wall.

Faces change but still owned by same person that opened the doors.If you need a unique gift for any occasion, this is the place.I keep going back for t-shirts. All kinds.If they are open 20 years from now, you may see me trying on shirts.

Easily the best head shop in the area! In the running for best in the nation. If youre visiting the area a trip to Penny Lane is almost as important as seeing Lincoln sights or having a horseshoe.

Bought just under $200 of glass today only to get home open the box and find one of the 3 items I was charged for! When I called I got told we never charged you for those funny how the sticker says $130 for one item but I paid $180 and they refused to fix it! I shopped here for literally years now I’ll take my time and money elsewhere! DO NOT SHOP HERE! Complete rip off!

O.M.Goodness!!! This is the most amazing store!! They have such an array of merchandise that I dont know where to begin! I started out along their sticker wall and scored a variety of Grateful Dead stickers. Next stop was at their crystal display. I got a bag of Aquamarine and Blue Lace Agate. (The gal was extremely patient and helpful while I handled a few varieties of crystals) I was pleased to see that they carried a variety of sage and incense, which I stocked up on! They have posters and tin pictures (which I grabbed a pop art Marilyn Monroe and a fun Lucille Ball picture) I wont bore you with the rest of my purchases, but when I wear my tie dye shirt and Baja hoodie, I get lots of compliments from my Colorado peeps. Thanks for the amazing experience! I will be sure to stop in next time I come to Springfield Illinois!!

This has been the hippie haven for Springfield and the surrounding area for many many years. They have a huge amount of unique gifts and they have the largest section of smoking accessories you are going to find in central illinois. Dont miss the black light and poster rooms...very fun to visit.

They have a black light room and a room filled with cannabis items like big & little plain or colorful bongs, metal/wood/silicone/plastic bowls, all kinds and sizes of grinders & vape pens and the top floor has plugs, unique chess sets and some tattoo ink. They could definitely use a better variety of colors of tattoo ink & A tapestry/poster room with a few cut outs.

Always a treat to go here..something new to see each time..good selection of band shirts and sweatshirts..Great place for gifts for people you just dont know what to buy..

Probably the coolest store in Springfield area. If your passing through you should stop to check the place out. If your local and looking for basically any exotic trinkets or smoking paraphernalia this is the place to go!!

Springfields premier and oldest head shop, and Ive been patronizing Penny Lane since 1971 when they opened. Just a fun shop....incense, jewelry, clothing, posters, statuettes, as well as bongs, pipes and other paraphernalia.

Really cool place with amazing unique gifts, t shirts, posters, art, too much to list but if you havent been you need to go. If youve been, Im sure youll be returning 😁👍✌️

Yes they have an extensive collection but most items are ridiculously overpriced and I have personally found it extremely difficult to even get help with my prospective purchase by way of even getting cabinets opened to even look at items for possible purchase. However I can get asked several times if I need anything if I put my hands in my pockets as I do this simply out of habit making me feel uncomfortable like Im being accused of acting suspicious when actually I have more than enough money for anything I might want there as I already know that theyre expensive also not to mention I am also a respectable person a D.C.F.S., State Police background passed an election judge and a former manager for several companies. So as a result of my most recent experiences with Penny Lane I personally will be spending my money with HappyDaze on 6th and North Grand Ave instead.

Probably one of my favorite stores in town. Great environment and so much fun stuff to look at. The smell of unburnt nag champa is wonderful. Just beware it stinks to high heaven when its burnt.

Penny Lane is an absolutely lovely locally-owned small business full of great merchandise that you wont find at walmart (yuck!), the mall or any department store. If you dont call yourself a normal person or average Joe, youll be right at home in this quirky two-story warehouse of weirdness. A diverse selection of alternative medicines such as CBD, kratom, essential oils and more are available, as well as any of your cannabis-related needs. A HUGE selection of counter-culture clothing and accessories span this place from end to end. The management and employees are wonderful people that are fantastic to deal with. Highly recommended if youre looking for a cool place to burn time or looking for the ubiquitous gift that you want to know nobody else is going to give. Other stores try, but cannot match Penny Lane. Stop by and see what I mean!

While their prices are great, I refuse to buy glass. The man who apparently runs the glass department had been extremely rude to myself and my husband when we purchased a defective hookah and attempted to blame us for the defect.

Very unhappy with service, had my little sister go there for body jewelry and when she left not even 10 minutes later she realized she got the wrong piercing and when she tried to return it they said they dont accept returns (which was never stated before) and refused store credit. Will not be returning there at all.

I love going to Penny Lane, also known as the hippy store to my family. The back room with all the black lights and blacklight posters is definitely one of the best parts of the store.

A Springfield staple head shop selling a wide variety of novelty items and paraphernalia. The store is an experience in itself so even if youre not looking to make a purchase the staff and atmosphere make for a fun visit no matter what.

Staff is friendly, ambiance is eclectic and happy, lots to look at, well organized areas of interest, smoke items are located upstairs now so I dont have to explain it to my kids, prices are fair, always something new to see.

Its a great place , family friendly even . There is a clear separatation of adult goods that are presented while not polluting or influencing the family friendly products and store areas . Went in there to get a Christmas gift for my mother. I didnt know where it was in the store, I asked for help and the gentleman was happy enough to show me where it was. I just love penny lane.

Bought a piece. Seam was broken on it. I went back in there and told some old guy about it. He told me to get cleaner and clean it and bring it back. So now Ive spent upwards of 140 bucks. When I bring in the clean piece he told me it was my fault which could not even be possible. He was rude the whole time and in the end they just took money away from me and gave me broken stuff over priced.

Plenty of apparel such as Tshirts, lots of band tees, graphic tees, tyedye clothes, hippie bags, gypsy rose bags, tapestries, body jewelry such as plugs, spikes, bellybutton rings.Pretty big selection of glass, mostly import but thats to be expected. They have some American art as well. Glass prices are decent, remember that brick and mortar stores have overhead and they need to make money off their products. Keep this place open.They also carry CBD products and oil pens, as well as vape liquid.Really good prices on the vape liquid.
