Its a dive bar, so dont expect too much. I didnt expect all the bright lights, much less what looked like competitive Cornhole going on. More beers than I expected, though the IPA I had tasted like the line had never been cleaned. There are some good spirits to choose from. Thankfully, the smokers were banished to the outside, however, they stand just outside the front door, so you expect to run the gauntlet getting into the place.
Johnathan and Allen were great bartenders. Very attentive and friendly. Johnathan suggested the quesadillas after I couldnt make up my mind and I was not disappointed. My friend got their wings with Buffalo cajun and they were spicy without being overly so. Flavor was so rich plenty if sauce! He also let us try their hottest sauce and it had a great smokey flavor with a lot of heat and no loss of flavor. We stopped by for a quick drink and ended up staying a few hours. They also have bingo and karaokee on some nights, definitely recommend!
This is a great place. It has neighborhood bar vibes but also big bar energy with live DJ on the weekend and several other events like trivia and bingo on certain nights. Definitely very different from what it was 5 years ago and its no longer a smoking bar, which is nice. The Jonathan and Rocket are both rock stars behind the bar and the manager Alex is always on top of stuff. Food has always been really good here so Ill stop by just for lunch sometimes.
Atmosphere here is great! They decorate for most holidays the bar tenders (Regina and John especially!) are wonderful and attentive. Food here is always a hit never a miss. This is our go to for a good afternoon or evening
I stopped by the place Monday while in the area. I was blown away by the set up as well as the service! Melanie was behind the bar and she was excellent. Kept the conversation going not just with me but everyone at the bar. Had me laughing the entire time. Plus the food is amazing!

Jonathan is super attentive, when you drink is low he is there to see if you need another. He is super friendly and always acts like we are his favorite!! I will keep coming back when I am in town.
The special on Wednesdays is the catfish basket for $8.99. 10/10 AMAZING. Melanie is the day bartender. She is cute, fun and spunky. Go see her and give her your best dad joke, her laugh is contagious!
Fun place to hang out on a Friday night, especially if you like playing darts. The food is usually a bit overcooked and tastes like dirty grease.

I stopped in with an associate for a late night cocktail that wasnt all that. They were doing karaoke which was funny as helll because the patrons were wasted, singing of key, and some could barely keep up with the words to the songs! I ordered a lemon drop martini and it was a 5 on a 10 scale. Ive definitive had better...I didnt order any food so I had no opinion of it either way.

Walking in the place was well lit, smelled good and was greeted by the bartender. Went to play some darts. Nice digital, soft tip dart machines. $1.50 a game.Pleasant experience and will be back more often. 👍

After disappointment of another local bar with name that rhymes, I discovered RIX. Plenty of staff who are friendly and always ready to serve. Food always hot and delicious. Good ratio of women to men on Fri. & Sat. nights and diverse ethnicities which I like.
Ms. Jenn is the best bartender. She works during the day. She let you know whats best on the food menu which is a hidden gem in the colony until now. The food is the best of the best. Affordable drinks which is tough in the colony.
Menue prices are not correct. Bill was tripple what was on the menues. Was told that the prices are wrong and have been for a while but owner will not buy new menues. Woulda been nice to know before we ordered.
What a joke! Unless you’re in the “dart league”, don’t expect to go there, and think you’re gonna play a few games. They have several electronic dart boards, but apparently, they’re only for the regulars. NOT ONCE did we have anyone ask us for a drink order. Had to go to the bar every time we wanted a beer. Watched the waitresses tend to the tables of the obvious friends and regulars, but never even got the attention of one of them. Absolutely ridiculous. No thank you!!!!

Great drink prices and people from all walks of life frequent this bar.Its home to Soft-tip dart leagues, pool leagues, and your average karaoke nights occasionally.Probably its best kept secret is their pizza. The dough is hand made daily and the ingredients are always fresh. Best bar pizza bar none anywhere in North DFW.Its also a great place to watch football. Especially if your a Dallas Cowboys fan.This place has been around for decades, and will continue to do so for many years.
This was an unexpected surprise. After two years of living in The Colony my husband and I decided to finally stop in. It was a very friendly vibe and the food was so good! We both said we’ve never had bar food that good. Devin is putting all the love she has into her cooking. Can’t wait to go back and try the pizza!
UPDATED REVIEW: I have been coming here for YEARS. It used to be great... now when you walk in (knowing what month it is) you have said agenda shoved in your face. I dont go there to see that, I go to have a beer with my friends. Take the agenda elsewhere. The music is also insanely loud at anytime where you cant even hear anyone talk. The pizza used to be amazing, but now it comes out soggy and undercooked. Shame such a good place turned to garbage
This place is a real sports bar that has a cozy and warm feeling for everyone. Met the owner and his daughter and they made me feel very welcome. I visited this place to play pool with family and we truly enjoyed ourselves. Will visit again.

This was one of the better night clubs in TX. The music was always on point which set the scene with great energy. The bar was always stocked with the best high end spirits and the employees staffing it were quick and professional. The decor was great and made for a classy high end feel. Overall this place never disappointed and it is unfortunate that they are closing!!!!
Awesome casual neighborhood bar.We went here on a whim. Our first impressions after walking in the door was that it smelled clean (not smoky) and there were a lot of games. There werent many people because we went during the afternoon, but it looked like a DJ was setting up.The bartenders/servers are really nice. Ive missed this kind of neighborhood bar. Around here, most of the places are pretentious craft cocktails that are $12 a pop. At Rix, theyll make any drink the way YOU want it, the drinks will be done well, and at a waaaay cheaper price than other bars in the West Plano/Legacy area.We also got an appetizer (the chili tater tots). It was pretty standard bar food, but it was hot, fresh, crispy, and only $5, so we loved it.
A great place to hang out. Customers and staff are all very open and friendly. Makes you feel like you are part of a very loving family. The jukebox is up to date with some awesome tunes. Pool tables, dart boards and karaoke are also available for your pleasure. Prices are very reasonable. 😉

Terrible place. Blond waitress or manager is awful. She was trying to start trouble when trouble did not need to be started. She was attempting to get a gentleman riled up when he was asking for service. I have seen this from her before. Normally it is hispanic people she treats like this. I will not be back. Stay away from this place!!! Put this place out of business. There are better places to go and better food to eat!!

Went here on a Friday night. One cook in the kitchen. Food took about an hour, maybe longer. Was really good, but prepare to wait. Lots of dart boards and a few pool tables. Really good prices on drinks. Smirnoff drinks were 3.50 and they loaded it.

It was my first time here. I went to visit a couple of friends. The atmosphere was great. There bartender on duty was Logan, she was attentive and very sociable, not to mention easy on the eyes. I highly recommend you stop in if in the area.
Definitely a place for a younger crowd. Felt a bit out of place there. DJ wasnt much plus there was some really weird guy there that was actually really strange and i felt rather uncomfortable near him. If Ive got 20 years on you, this might be your kind of place.That said bar staff were generally friendly.Been there, done that, next.
As far as sports bars go, its actually a great place. Great place for billiards, darts and watching games. The smell of smoke hits you right when you walk in the door, even if there arent that many people there. It is also a quintessential neighborhood bar. The regulars are really friendly.

Fun bar with lots of dartboards. A really friendly crowd. We walked in to play darts (being from Oklahoma). Everyone there made is feel very welcome. The owner, Rick, was really friendly and down to earth too.
I had the opportunity to visit Rix around Thanksgiving while visiting family. Great, relaxed atmosphere with staff who can not only roll with the punches not also dish some back (tastefully of course!). The dart boards are laser lined and well maintained as we played several games on our visit. Theres also 2 pool tables with pay per game availability. I would definitely visit here again and recommend to friends!

I was there , Im hispanic.As soon I sat , the bartender focused on white and black customers.I really felt discriminated, I have money to pay for my drinks, I have money to give a good tip, the most of the time 100% in this kind of business.I felt really bad when other people around me started to realize of it, even they told me , why she does that, because you’re mexican !!!It suckers, when people around you realize you aren’t welcome at this business.It sucks

They were the Host for 314 Day on March 14th 2021. They had great food, served hot. Awesome drinks and drink specials. Smoking area outdoors and we all had an amazing time.
I liked this place food was above what you would normally expect service was okay inthought the employees were drinking a little much but who am I to judge I had no problems with them. Had a good time and will definitely be back.

Visit regularly for pool league. Always friendly staff, food is pretty good especially the fried catfish, bathrooms stay clean. Theres darts, pool, and cornhole. Its an indoor smoking bar so positive or negative depending on your preference. They have enough tv screen coverage to make any seat a good seat for football games if you want to catch one. Friendly regulars and no parking issues.

This bar (formally CJs) is only a few years old having been bought by the current owners, but has established itself as one of these places to hang out with darts billiards and live music on the weekends and good drink prices, though it hasnt slowed them down they are currently in the expansion process, GET READY FOR MORE FUN AND MORE SPACE! REMEMBER ask for Diana if you happen to go in. HAVE A GREAT TIME!!!

On occasion I stop at RiX to enjoy a good and competitive dart tournament. RiX never disappoints. There is always a great crowd, friendly competition, and most importantly; cold beer, great food, and terrific staff. Im a regular visitor when I pass through The Colony. I highly recommend stopping by and enjoying the atmosphere for yourself.
Good bar to have a few drinks and relax or have a good night out with friends and family. I grew up across the street from it to going there every night with coworkers after work and then working there for a little while. Rix will always be like a second home

There is actually only Karaoke 2 nights a week for all those curious. Its Wednesdays and Friday Nights...... There was no Karaoke last week as it was the bars monthly Bike night last Friday...... Also I am not the owner. I am a professional entertainer who performs on the saturdays there is no live band.... I have special guest perform to a professional track show(no band)...... If you would like to sing to karaoke come out on Wednesday or Friday night 😉
The DJ for New Year’s Eve was horrible. Mixed drinks were flat. We requested a song and tipped for it and he did not play it after 3 repeat requests. After the fourth attempt, the DJ played the first 20 seconds of the song then moved on to another in the request list that he had been neglecting until closing time. Will not be coming back.
Im not a smoker and you can smoke inside so I got smoked out fairly quickly Im sure Id be a fun place if you can handle the smoke but its not for me if you cant handle it just go to Mavericks about 5 minutes away
Bad - If I could give it zero stars I would. I stood at the bar for no less than 10 minutes and was never acknowledged let alone asked if Id care for a beverage. Maybe there was a shift change happening, (3 bartenders & a barback behind the bar), I wont return, nor can I recommend this place to anyone else.
Went their last night 6/29/14 for the first time to relax, listen to music, watch people dance & have a great time. I sat alone at bar and also watched UFC, having a great time. Then got to watch the owner start ripping a new bartender. He rode her to tears over a period of an hour. The other bartender (Tammy) was trying to smooth things over with owner. Owner (Rick) had been in the kitchen up until late and then stayed behind bar. He was a total distraction from everyones fun & people started leaving. He was also focused on getting all the glasses clean which blocked the view of UFC. He continued to rip the new bartender at every chance to a point she just stood by the cash register & totaled receipts. RICK is a PRICK and a dumb manager for doing what he did in front of customers, very doubtful I will ever go back. What a jackass.
