What a wonderful establishment! It was my first time line dancing and I had so much fun! Instructor was great and instructions were clear. Having the opportunity to dance as a beginner made it feel very welcoming. I will definitely be back!
First time here and it was for my birthday and my experience was absolutely horrible except for one bartender Cut off for no reason and the female bartender was rude about it. “It’s a dance club” as we led an entire line dance that people didn’t know. Honestly I was super excited to come here and was expecting more but was greeted with very byist views when first entering. Felt like we were getting hounded at the door. Same person who hounded us cut us off for absolutely no reason and was questioning our drinks after literally one drink. However the male bartender was wonderful and quickly turned around the situation and made our experience great.
Have been there a couple times now and it has always been a good time, headed there tonight and it turns out they were closed. Facebook, Instagram, and Google pages all say they are open on Sat, granted they dont look like they are updated frequently.Website said something regarding the closure but it is not accessible at the moment, was able to find the info using the waybackmachine internet archive after returning home. Really wouldve liked if this closure was communicated on their social media platforms that are still accessible, wouldve saved me 1:45 of driving and about 100 mi.Sucks because the place has a good vibe for dancing just really irritating that this wasnt communicated better especially with the digital age, posting same information to their social media platforms wouldve saved a lot of confusion. Not just for me but for the other people I saw also pull into the parking lot to realize no one was there and leave.Adding the closure information that I was able to find on the internet archive for the site.
Visited from Oregon and this place really gives our line dancing locations a run for their money. Instructors are friendly and knowledgeable and the patrons are welcoming.
Fun line dances and the instructor is great! Also love that it opens early enough that you can actually go out on a work night
I just want to say how impressed we were with Mishnock Barn! Its a very cool place and the owner Dan was so awesome and welcoming Excellent instructors! Steve was a great guy also! Thank you so much for being so kind and welcoming to us Missouri folk!! Hope to make it back your way soon!! God bless yall and hope you have an amazing country dance weekend in New York!! Dance on my friends!!!
Great place to learn how to line dance. The Albros take their time in teaching. And Merall at the bar is the best.
Always the best ever! more of a family than a business, always welcoming with open arms🩷 i can’t begin to explain the happiness and friends this barn has brought me
This place is wonderful. The people are respectful and youll find all ages interacting. 3 dance floors offer unique options. They usually offer 2-3 options per song for dancing. Partners usually take one floor then 2 separate line dances are called of for the remaining floors. Time and practice learning the different dances keeps you on the dance floor for endless fun and exercise.
So much fun! Beginner nights are the best. Lessons are great!
Looked on the website for a specific dance written by dan albro, difficult to navigate and couldnt find the dance I wanted very unimpressed
I asked to wear bracelet on left hand andthrew me out of facility. Unbelievable ☹️
This country bar does cool line dances and has a spacious dance floor. However, the dance teacher asked me to leave the dance floor because I hadn’t taken her dance lesson. I learn the dances by watching people’s feet and doing the dance at the same time so I didn’t mind sitting out and resting while she was teaching the steps. She kind of embarrassed me so I left right away after she told me to leave the floor in front of the whole bar over her microphone. Country dancing is supposed to be fun. I make every effort to give other dancers their space while I learn. I can usually catch on to a dance pretty easily if I learn it by my own means. The bathroom is clean, well kept and lovely. The music is great because it isn’t played too loud
Our 1st time, out to have a good time on a Fri night , Initially Loved the place, Im not inexperienced when it comes to line dancing, and was scolded, as if I was a 2yr old ,by another patron on the main dance flr, told to go to the beginners area. I kindly took issue with the patron after the dance was over, and was then taken aside by the owner and his wife, as my boyfriend ,best friend and her husband were surrounded all of a sudden at there table ,by regular patrons as if we were some kind of a threat, as my boyfriend exclaimed, its just dancing , while the owner/dance instructor told us, we take our dancing seriously and perhaps we should go to a bar, my boyfriend left, just as the owners wifes overreaction to call the police ,and 5............yes 5 cruisers showed up .....there was no incident or fighting whatsoever ,never going back again. If youre looking to unwind from your week and just have a good time Dont go here.
What a fun way to spend an evening...had a blast!
Great place for dancers of all experience levels, or anyone who likes country music and atmosphere. There are lessons through the night at the beginning of the week, and most of them are also posted on YouTube for a little hone practice.People here are friendly and Dan & Kelly are really good with organizing frequent dance community events.
For my first experience there, was not anything worth wild for. While the atmosphere was casual, there were many cons to pros. First con cash only and 10 dollar cover fee, second under staffed and was skipped 5 times, third no real food , fourth no real place to sit. Fifth no free dancing mostly played what people were learning. Pro 1 is multiple dance floors, 2 offered dance lessons. So for this reason mishnock barn gets a two out of five and i will not be returning any time soon unfortunately
The owner and his weird kids are rude, threatening, and unwelcoming. I am a good dancer and was bullied repeatedly for my individuality and not being a wannabe redneck. High school bullies who never grow up. At the core a slimy pick up scene for 20 year olds and gun wielding pickup driving tattooed friends of owner. The owner Dan justified his behavior by saying it’s a business … it’s ok to discriminate against certain customers because he doesn’t want anyone there who doesn’t fit in and blindly obeys him-this is quality control hahaSounds like a cult to me-good riddance.-I’ll drive the extra 30 minutes into Boston to be treated with respect at Loretta’s in the Fenway or anywhere else but this place.
5 stars is just not enough. Dan gives amazing lessons and really works with you until you get it! The bartenders are awesome and the DJs are just out of this world. Anyone who doesnt try it at least once is just selling themselves short and anyone who doesnt like the atmosphere or the place in general is kidding themselves and out of their minds. I wouldve given Dan, Dawn and the rest of the crew a 100 stars but unfortunately I got limited as to how many I could give.
Awesome place! Country bar with 3 dance floors line dances and couples. Mix of ages 21+ - 80. Dan Albro (owner) teaches new dances. Met a lot of nice people.
We first went on a Saturday night and even though there were not many people there, they were nice and welcoming and helped teach us the dances. They mostly played country songs all night! We were told to come back on Monday night, and yes there were more people there, however, the DJ only played a country song after about 5 pop songs. We learned a few dances in the lessons but since they were taught with pop songs, it wasnt much fun. Usually we go to the Cadillac Ranch in CT but the songs we learned at the barn are specific to the barn and cant be danced anywhere else. With the decor in the barn, it looks like it couldnt get anymore country, so it still blows my mind that they rarely play country music, and that a Monday night is more packed and busy than a Saturday night. The bartenders were very nice and best part!
The place is alright for those who havent been country dancing anywhere else in the country. For those of you that have been anywhere from the midwest-west avoid this place like the plague. They mainly line dance or at least have a specific dance to specific songs. If you want a certain song to play...NOPE! Cant do that unless its a song people already know the dance to. Not to mention the owner claims hes been to multiple places and taken multiple classes on country dancing yet doesnt teach west coast swing, any two steps and gets upset when people either show them a simple basic two step (because thats what we do everywhere else) or anything outside of the scope of the specific dance choreographed to said song. Ex. My husband and I were dancing (2 step) on an empty dance, nothing fancy, and were asked to not do that. We can learn the steps to the song being played or not dance at all. After explaining where we were from and our understanding of a country bar we left due to it just being the way it is.
Cool place for line dancing!
Our Dance club travels down to Mishnock as often as we can and always have an excellent time. Dan & Kelly Albro are the most gracious hosts youll ever encounter.I cant recommend this place highly enough...
This is the type of place that line dances to a George Strait song. Do not recommend as a country bar.
This place is so much fun. You can learn line dancing and the people there are really nice and fun.Definitely a fun place to go.With or without kids.Very kid friendly.
10:25 and apparently I cant be served because I cant line dance. I was sober and just wanted to have a few drinks at the bar not to get trashed at this place. If youre not country oriented I dont reccomend comming to this barn.
One of the premier line dancing venues in the country, with 3 great dance floors. Dan and Kelly are gracious hosts, and as Dan is my favorite choreographer I get to do plenty of his dances
Flashback from the past on a recent drive by. Still open
