I was visiting LA and needed some waxing done, so I booked an appointment here and don’t regret anything. The whole experience was great! The customer service was top tier and the service I requested was so detailed and amazing. Everardo did an amazing job, took his time, and made sure I was satisfied with my treatment at the end.The whole experience from booking to paying, was extremely smooth and effortless. If you are in the LA area and need any waxing or trimming done, I encourage you to try this cute spa out.
I enjoyed my experience at this spa, but the atmosphere wasnt as relaxing as I had hoped. The staff were friendly and the services were good, though.I had a good experience at this spa, but the wait time for my appointment was longer than I expected. The staff were apologetic and made up for it with excellent service, though. Overall, its still worth a visit.
I visited L.A. from the desert & Gendarme was a recommendation. I had no expectations as I’ve always gone to the larger hotel spas. What a gem, so quaint, warm & friendly! The pricing was very reasonable & gotta love all the cool places to eat in Weho!
It is sad for me that I’m not giving this place a 5 star review. I went there with my wife and left there extremely happy...until...I’m a huge fan of their cologne. I’ve had for years! My mom and mother in law love it too. So to go there was exciting for me. Then I got to meet the creator of the cologne! Double score! Nice service and I got what I thought was a great deal and I vowed to never buy elsewhere. I got 3 1.7oz colognes and even 1 free for 175.00 bucks! As I’m driving to my hotel I looked online and wondered what the price of each was when lo and behold they have a sale online for 5 of the 1.7oz bottles for 119.00 bucks! Really?!?! And they didn’t know that or they didn’t tell me that? Why wouldn’t they? They were so nice at the store! I had expressed that I wanted to try the shower gel and online...it’s free with a 140.00 dollar purchase. I just spend 175!!! I spend more and got much less...and that sucks .This left a bad taste in my mouth. I live in the Bay Area and was just passing through so going back is out of the question. I still enjoy the smell of the colognes but again... very disappointed and a little betrayed overall.
Great place... various hours. Offers facials, body waxing, haircuts(when possible) in a comfortable, large WeHo Craftsman home dating back to mid 1940s. Has a beautiful inner courtyard with built-in benches and a garden. Excellent + friendly staff. Need to book 3 days to a week in advance. On Nemo St off of Doheny Drive in an off-the-main strip location of West Hollywood business distracted.
I always have the best service and experience at The Gendarmerie. Im always welcomed with a warm greeting from the moment I arrive. And even weeks after an amazing haircut by Cris, I receive compliments from family, friends, and co-workers. The owner, Topper, is usually around, and I always enjoy having great conversation with him.The Gendarmerie is a great full service, neighborhood spa that everyone should check out!
Wow. Im so disappointed. My wife works really hard with our 2 kids and I wanted to do something nice for her for Mothers Day. I looked around my area for a spa and found The Gendarmerie Boutique and spa had amazing ratings. I booked Davids absolutely fab spa day for her with the receptionist Noel, who was very friendly and helpful. My wife did not have a relaxing or enjoyable time because of the monumentally apathetic attitude of David, her spa guy. My wife had never had a facial or anything like this and we were both so excited. David could hardly muster a smile and was very clinical and, kind of, lets just get to the next part of the fabulous spa day so I can get you outta here, to the point where my wife couldnt wait to be done and get picked up by me and the kids.My wife is about as friendly and sweet as anyone you would ever meet so in NO WAY could this have been that David had a bad attitude subsequent to her bad attitude. I would think half of whats so great a spa day is that the spa esthetician/masseur is friendly and happy with a great bedside manner. David had none of these things and Hes the one I picked for her. Based on the available pictures of employees to choose from, he seemed most likely to have all those qualities. The price was $195 for about 2 hours and my wife tipped $25, even after feeling uncomfortable most of the time, cuz shes generous like that. With two young kids, $220 is not breaking the bank but its not cheap. My wife will never be back to Gendarmerie and if anyone ever asks me to recommend a spa Ill certainly be able to tell them where NOT to go. So disappointed, man.Ryan
First I would like to thank Gendarme® for choosing the Great Progressive City of WEST HOLLYWOOD as the location for their Flag Ship Store Gendarmerie®, this helps make West Hollywood much better than beverly hills (the most over rated failed city in the world)! For years going back to the 80s (Gendarme was created in 1983) Gendarme cologne has held its own against many other designer fragrances, its unique strong clean after shower fragrance has been unequaled despite many on going attempts. Even people with allergies do not seem to be bothered by Gendarme, I should know because I really like my cologne to the point of getting numerous routine complaints from coworkers! When they came out with Gendarme EDP (Eau De Parfum) a more powerful version of the Gendarme cologne, it got my attention. Their other products have a slight Gendarme cologne scent as expected, very high quality and price. I like to go for their Value Set where I get a little more for the money. If they have a major discount sale Ill be there. Now I must admit that I have not had the time to try any of the services offered at their spa yet, from what I can see and from what I have been told by many people who have its very good. I have dropped by to try their cologne testers and, not as a part of my usual routine of using testers to avoid making as many purchases of cologne. GREAT PLACE, the only way to make it better would be to turn it into an Employee Owned CO-OP!
I love the place! Very welcoming! Since the first day I have been there, I felt like home! And of course they are super professionals! I drive all the way from Woodland Hills for my haircut!
Such a beautiful and relaxing atmosphere! Staff is friendly and my massage from Chris was absolutely incredible! Perfect touch, you can tell that he is passionate about what he does!
Had a wonderful massage here. Best I’ve had in a very long time. The staff were great and they even got me a birthday cake as they knew it was my birthday. I would highly recommend.
What a charming place! Received a great manicure from Kamilia. I will definitely be back when visiting from NYC.
An oasis in the middle of Los Angeles. If you are in need of a day of self-indulgence or just need some time to get away, treat yourself to a massage, haircut, or hang out on their quaint patio out back.
Quaint location on a side street. Thanks to Juan, its easily one of the best massages Ive ever experienced.
Amazing service and friendly staff. The best spa in town or any other town.
Unresponsive. Apparently they said to busy dot
My favorite spa oasis in Weho!
