DO NOT COME HERE ! I ordered catfish and grits they gave me some soupy watery bowl with a catfish fillet on top, my appetizer came out 30 minutes after my food. They were out of the seafood mac n cheese so the server suggested the pasta and made it seem like it came with chicken and shrimp , I get the tab and it’s an extra $8 for chicken and $12 for shrimp. It was a slow night so I know she was trying to upsals me but atleast tell me ! Then my boyfriend ordered a shrimp and grits with the sauce on the side since the catfish and grits looked a mess and the sever brought it out with no sauce just dry shrimp on bland grits and we had to ask where the sauce was and she said they weren’t going to give it to use because it was oily ! Wow I wish I knew that before I ordered it . Then to make it even worse I get a random $16 tax on my tab at the end that the manager couldn’t explain and it was not gratuity because I paid that as well. I can’t help but think it was for the nasty catfish and grits we sent back. They in here being greedy and taking people money to run up a tab. I hope this reaches the right person! I will never support this company again!!! I can’t make this up !
Anytime I attend this location I usually have a good experience. However we were on the back patio, the tall male, with long dreads, African American server was very unattentive, nonchalant, took his time, brought our food out cold because he decided to do other things, when we try to get his attention he kind of waved his hand at us as if we were bothering him. We felt like he should not be a server, he did not want to be there and he was not attentive to our table at all. Then he has the nerve at the end of the night to tell us that if we needed anything further to just let him know after he had given us the bill which already has gratuity included on it. We would not have given him any type of gratuity everyone on the patio was complaining about him and he was not a good server at all!The food was pretty decent We had catfish nuggets, we had fries and drinks. Never had any complaints with the food at all it was decent.Attached is a pic of the back of the server.
This place is fairly decent. I have been a couple times and I can say that it’s one of those “safe places”; if you don’t know where to go, this is a great option to consider. Their Sunday brunch is something like a day party. They have a DJ, music and all of that fun stuff. I ordered their Esco burger and that was a 8/10. It was pretty good! We paid for bottomless mimosas and we kept receiving full pitchers of orange juice with a splash of champagne. Although we asked for our drinks to be balanced, we kept receiving the mimosas the same way. They went as far as adding ice to the carafes. I waited super long to get my food. It came sloppy, with missing ingredients. It was good but presentation was horrible. All of my friends enjoyed their food and we all agree that the place is overall 6/10 - a lot had to do with the service
Shrimp tacos spicy but the tortilla was cold, the waitress sick with Covid and serving us. She winded also keep using her dam hands as a napkin. I know all of us at the table will be sick. But the drinks were fire 🔥 that’s about it food trash aesthetic trash 🗑️ maybe if you drunk and it’s dark you think it’s ok. But this a moms and pops setting. Also ok try greens egg rolls
Picking this restaurant was so random for me but boy am I glad I did! The Cajun salmon was so juicy and flavorful! The loaded mashed potatoes were out of this world! And the parmesan broccoli was to die for! Basically everything that I tasted was delicious! Definitely a nice find in the city! A must visit for everyone who likes a chill atmosphere. There’s also hookah and a lounge bar area. Gotta come back to taste the rest of the menu!
Do not come here…The food is terrible, the place looks run down, and you have to pay for water! I paid $60 for water and something that tasted like a 6yr old cooked it. Idk why I didn’t read the reviews before coming here, unsure how this place is still running. For the price, there is so much better elsewhere!
I like the vibe in here. The DJ was hittin he kept the club rocking and having a good time. The food was mediocre. I didnt try anything special. Just chicken wings and fries. My friend ordered the Mac and cheese egg rolls. They seemed a little dry to me. Other than that, its a nice cool spot. Maybe Ill run into 2 Chainz one day.KEEP IN MIND THEY ADD AN 18% GRAITUITY TO ALL CHECKS!
Terrible experience our server was our server, the dj, the bartender, and as long as it took possibly the cook. Ordered a tequila sunrise light ice with Don julio & it definitely was not top shelf & full of ice. I got the shrimp & grits the shrimp was seasoned grits were old with no taste just cheese on top. After trying for 35mins to get our servers attention for our bill. I was not pleased with paying gratuity when the entire visit wasnt pleasant.
Second time going different location first one had better food. We sat on the patio the long hair loc guy was very rude and charged us for items we didn’t ask for and would not refund. Took his time bringing the food and it was horribly over seasoned. I will never go back to this place . It’s never usually the same after you visit the first time and everything is on point. Came from Ohio and wanted this food badly to be treated like bums and received nasty food
So I read the reviews but decided to try the restaurant out for myself. I decided to go to dinner on a Wednesday night at 8pm. At first we were put in a high stool corner, but we asked to go to a table as the place was not busy.Pros - Waitress was nice and the restaurant was not crowded. My food was decent, however my friends was not. It had music playing and was a lounge atmosphere, also had security.Cons : Music was entirely too loud, very young crowd. Food was not consistent with taste and was overpriced and drinks were water downed. Also 75 dollars for two meals and one drink is not worth the service and food level. I wont be back.
Horrible. I ordered the Honey Bee which was supposed to be with Jack Daniel’s honey. I realized mid drink that it wasn’t Jack honey so I ordered another drink to watch her make it. I noticed she poured a house whiskey and agave and said it’s the same thing. It’s definitely NOT the same quality of liquor. Secondly, the party we were with bought 3 bottles and they gave us 2 sections. We were in the section for about 10 minutes before the manager came over saying we had to give up a section because “The Owner” was coming and needs one of the sections. They didn’t have half the food that was on the menu. I left dissatisfied and disappointed. Not to mention. I spent $275 for some mediocre liquor and food I didn’t want.
The service was terrible! We waited a long time for our drink order, an even loner time for our food order, and an even longer time to get it. Wings were soggy, shrimp was crispy, food was blah..Was charged $75 for 2 $13 drinks and 2$16 meals the math didnt add up. Neither did this place. Its been a year since I first went,Will not be going back!!
Overcharged me for hookah that I ordered at 7:47PM which is supposed to be $20 from 2-8pm. They lied and said I ordered it after 8. So once my tab came for $41.30, I figured I was paying for everything I ordered during happy hour (I ordered 2 drinks that were $5 each & a wing meal that $5) I ordered all of this while waiting for my friend and paid also while waiting for him. They ended up charging him for my food & drinks & charged me $35 for $20 hookah and said I ordered after happy hour. Refused to refund him. What? I’m an honest person and feel sooo offended. I’m Also from out of town and see that the reviews that people write about these places here are very true. Do not come here.
@escobaratlanta know they played in my face w/ that long food and drink wait. My lamb chops were burnt(i always go for medium meat) & babyyy where was my Chimichurri!!!! She brought out tomatoes when i asked smh. My friend ordered salmon and we had to send it back it was so small. The DJ was good so was the hookah and the one drink a guy got me. 2chainz was actually in the building but it was laid back. Our waitress forgot one of our orders and ignored us cuz she quoted the table next to us wrong and they were going back and forth causing us all to end up leaving. The fishbowls were mostly juice. But it was cool cuz my friends are a vibe #MobeEating😜™️
More of a club feel than a restaurant. Stopped here on a Saturday afternoon for brunch. It was way more crowded than I thought but Im assuming its super popular. The only thing was upon walking in you just stand there at the door (sign reads: Please wait to be seated) but no one never comes to seat you. There was a group ahead of us waiting as well. I went to stop a staff member to ask could we be seated. She mentioned if you dont have a reservation you have to buy a bottle. Maybe Ive been out of the loop but I had no idea what this meant. So I stand by the door and drink a bottle or does the bottle secure a seat. I asked about sitting at the bar and she said she doesnt know what goes on over there cause its not her area so I could go check and see if any seats were open. Luckily there were two seats open for me and my friends. Service at the bar was fast. The bartender was friendly and made great drinks. My friend ordered the shrimp and grits and mentioned it was delicious. I ordered the chops and eggs which was also great. Food came out hot which is a plus especially with the crowd. The DJ there was on point with a great flow going on. I did notice the group in front of the door was still standing there about 30 mins after we sat down. So it seems as though making a reservation would be the best. I didnt realize at first that this was rappers 2 Chainz restaurant. I recognized the mural of his son out side and when confirmed thats when I found out about the place. Maybe I am out of the loop. There are mentions of day partys online(such as Eventbrite) but I wouldnt trust them because a worker there said that has nothing to do with them. Overall, nice vibes and enjoyed the food would definitely return...with reservations
From the website we were expecting something upscale and flamboyant, but it was a quaint spot that felt very homey. The food was good but we didnt know the menu would change for lunch/dinner so we didnt get to order what we came for since it was the lunch menu. Fountain drinks were not good, but alcoholic drink was.
They were out of the basic food on the menu, we had a party of 10 and they brought the food out to half of us while the other half waited another 40 minutes. We ordered a hookah that turned off because no one was really using it while we waited for dinner and when we asked for another coal they said we had to pay for a refill when their menu said it would be replaced at least once. Service was beyond slow to get a drink. Disappointing experience.
Parking was difficult to secure safely, and some dude with a safety vest out there charging $20 to park in FREE public parking directly across the street! Do not give that crook a penny and tell him youre about to call the police on his thieving a$$...hell move on. My food was delicious 😋, but portions were small, my drinks were strong and perfectly made, what I didnt like was the atmosphere. It was way too dark inside, the furniture is raggedy and needs to be replaced and the DJ played drill and trap music the entire time, which killed me and my homegirls vibe. The internet advertises this beautiful place that looks Upscale to a certain point but in reality its a straight hood bar with decent to good food. My homegirl said her food was OK. I will only return if the place is updated, and DJ plays more diverse music or if someone from out of town wants to experience it. It wasnt bad, but could definitely be so much better. The waitress/ bar tender was phenomenal 👌🏾...we tipped her well. She is the reason our visit was better than it would have been. She was polite, energetic, attentive and on top of taking care of business! I forgot her name, but she was excellent!
Let’s just say my first experience here was just ok. Made reservations for a Sunday night for a birthday celebration over the phone and once we arrived the hostess thought we were buying a bottle which we never requested over the phone. Customer service was ok they didn’t seem friendly but our waitress was very nice. I’m not sure who the DJ was that night but he was all over the place with the music and was throwing the vibe off.The food had so much potential but some of the food items could’ve been better like the grits needed some salt and the Parmesan broccoli was way tooo buttery. The menu prices range from $6 to $22 and a 18% gratuity will already be added to your bill.If you’ve ever been to Peter St you already know how annoying parking is. We parked really close for $10 on the side of the street.SN: they won’t seat you until your entire party is present for your reservations.
This place fell off, lying about the alcohol drinks, making customers pay for name brands alcohol… that they are not giving you. I WOULD NEVER COME BACK HERE AGAIN!!! The waiter was so OFF and the service was so unprofessional and unacceptable!!!! DONT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!!!! We were from out of town, just a big disappointment 😩🤪👎🏾👎🏾
This is my third time here and it gets better every time. The first time I visited during brunch (2nd & 3rd pictures). It was a great vibe and I was a little early so I snagged a table for one. Service was awesome, and so were the mimosas and hookah. Second time, I just went out for a night drink, but caught great vibes with random people; we bonded over the music. Finally today; this was the best time I visited. The service was great and so was the chicken and beef gumbo. I brought a friend from out of town and the restaurant perfectly described the vibe of our city, my home 🙏🏾. Can’t go wrong here, period!
2 chainz better shut this place down… waitress was TRASH. we ordered at 11:35 and got our food at 1:15… food was reheated. another plate came at 1:35 exactly because “the first time the food was cooked the shrimp was too small”… no maam, you FORGOT our order and took no accountability for it. everything with shrimp came back with pieces of tail in it… back to 2 chainz, he walked in and showed face for a few minutes and walked right back out, like he knew place was trash.
Update: I was upset, there are more important things to worry about. The best part of this place was the valet guys, very nice and attentiv. The host did not share that within 20 min the kitchen would be closed and told us to wait 45 min to an hour for brunch. How does it make sense for an establishment to not share such vital information with patrons. At the very least be nice, informative, and attentive to patrons. I would never return and would not recommend it. Since we waited for 30 plus minutes already my friends ordered by the bar and got their food to go but I refuse to spend a dime at a place where they dont understand basic customer service.
Great restaurant and lounge in the middle of Edgewood. Nice mix between club and restaurant. The music creates a club vibe and they always have either a live dj or live music.Dont let the casual vibe fool you into thinking the food is casual too. The food is really good and Ive never had anything bad here. I highly recommend the Turkey Burger and the catfish nuggets. The drinks are very well made also. Ive been coming here for a few years and despite the changes in the servers and the kitchen, the food quality has remained consistent. The parking is difficult here. There is no lot so its all free street parking. Typically its easy to find something but on busy nights it can be a challenge.I definitely reccomend this place. Great for visitors, a happy hour or pregaming.
Escobar is cool at times. I use to go here before in the past prior to covid and boy let me tell you we use to have a time. I really dont remember the cost but it couldnt have been as bad as now or I wouldnt feel so icky. I thought I left a 5 star review back then so I was coming here to edit it and realize that I never left the review. I was thinking about patronizing here tonight (monday) but I came sometime last year and they tried to make me pay $20 for parking on the side on a slow Monday night and I knew it was cap because the security settled for $10 like come on now😫. Also they have Fiji water bottles but they are $8. That seemed extreme to me. What it is is with this type of place you need to go in during happy hour or a particular night where they have some type of specials going on if you dont want to feel like everything is overpriced. Thats why I went on a Monday but it still seemed too much so I said okay this is no longer the place for the funds in my pockets and thats okay. Lol 😅
I was trying to get in , I parked my car next door at a PUBLIC parking lot and someone just showed up asking me $20 for the parking . I told him why I have to pay him it’sa a public parking . he told me CASH OR CASHAPP and that he work at the Restaurant. I told him I m not going to pay it’s my first time here let me check the menu or if I like the place before I paid for the parking. He was pushing me to pay right now. Don’t waste your time . The security guard at the door and this guy both so disrespectful and WEIRD intimidating people to pay for that parking
This is not the place for you if you do NOT like a club/lounge atmosphere with live DJ. This is not a restaurant, but definitely a hookah lounge/bar with inside & outdoor seating. Crowd - millennials/ages 21-30Parking is extremely difficult unless you valet for $20. It is best to make reservations via the website to secure a table.Food - flavors are pretty good, portions small (even the non-tapas items).
It all started with excellent Customer service in cute little outfits. We went on a Thursday night... no wait. Got seated right away, food and drinks came shortly there after. Me and my crew so noisy we walked around the whole spot looking for 2 chainz 😂😂😂Food was not the most expensivest...affordable, hot and fresh! Tru 👍🏼
I ordered lemon pepper wings with fries. The flavor of the wings was ok but they could have been cooked a lil longer. The fries was ok as well. The waitress was nice but she kept disappearing.
I went to this spot because i am a big 2 chains fan. Upon entry, the guy checking our ID and was very nice and got us inside quickly. (it was about 30 degrees outside) The music and atmosphere was very turned up ! We loved it! We were seated and the waitress who was also the host, told us that they were only serving fried foods and there were no fries and that we could sub another side and we wouldnt be charged. Well when the food came out, my friends plates had fries on them and mine came out with no fries and with the side i chose as a sub to the fries. The problem came when the check came (after a 45 min wait) i asked her why we were charged for the sub side and she popped a attitude and said she found some fries and put them on the plates.I was sooo confused but we quickly paid the bill and got the heck out of there ! i see why gratuity is included in the total because if it wasn’t, her tail wouldn’t have got a red cent out of me ! Our food was good though. They need better communication in this establishment.
Was in town last week celebrating my birthday and this spot has been on my list since 2017 my last visit to ATL. Had my heart set on breakfast but the waitress notified me that breakfast is only served on Saturday. So I ordered the Shrimp Club with seasoned fries, it didn’t disappoint! The waitress suggested that I order the “Tru Story” drink because I prefer light over dark liquor. So good I drank two. No complaints!!!
It pains me to write this because I used to really love Escobar. Now, it’s just spiraling downwards. I get the same thing every time. I don’t even have to look at the menu. I get the blackened catfish & lady’s night drink. The blackened catfish was $18 & it came with the fish on a bed of mash potatoes, spinach & okra on the side. Last time I went there & the blackened catfish was $25 vs $18 AND THEY TOOK THE MASH POTATOES AWAY. So not only did they raise the price but they took an item away from the entree. So you paying more for less. Then the manager tried to GASLIGHT me saying it’s never been like that. That the server must of accidentally gave me mash potatoes …. EACH TIMEEEEE???! NO! THATS CAP! Had to talk to a bartender that I KNEW worked there to back my claim up. SO YES, that is how it used to come. & it took 30 minutes to get 2 scoops of mash (cause I got 2 orders of blackened catfish) like it wasn’t already premade sitting in a 1/8 pan. Very disappointed! & not to mention you can’t smoke in there anymore. Like this is what I came for, to eat my delicious blackened catfish with mash potatoes, spinach & okra for $18 & smoke. Idk why they doing business like this. To raise the price & take an item off the entree is diabolical. Paying more for less. Just getting less of a vibe period. Very disappointed 2chains & snoop. It’s not a vibe anymore. You probably don’t care but I will not be returning to this establishment after being gaslit & such bad service that I also have to pay a 18% gratuity on a to go order.
Chef is too heavy with his hand. The food was too salty. It take 2 to 3 hours to get your food. The staff has to be a little more attentive.
Absolutely HORRIBLE. Showed up 6/14 at 4pm, after seeing a happy hour post from the resturant.Waitress and hostess at the front smoking hookah and eating. They sit me and my group of 4 others. Waitress is extremely rude.Waitress tells us we cant order food only drinks and hookah and also NO HAPPY HOUR....the reason we came.Waitress said we cant order food because there was only one cook but the waitresses (2) are eating at the front and a few people in the restaurant have food. The Waitress said she could find us some fries but thats it....FIND?1 drink was ordered. 1 was brought out and then another Waitress brought out what was suppose to be the same drink.....TWO DIFFERENT DRINKS SHOWED UP.....HOW? THE WAITRESSES SAID WELL THATS WHAT THE BAR GAVE ME.Highly disappointed in this place. 😕 Was charged gratuity, which wasnt known upfront.
I wanted to try this place out and I was disappointed. Asked for a side of Mac N Cheese and was told “oh we ran out of Heavy Cream the manager is going to the store to get some it’s gone be about 40 minutes” Asked for dessert “oh we don’t have dessert” then why is it on the menu? I just ended up leaving because I was really hungry. Maybe when I come back and visit I’ll try to stop by and see if anything has changed because I really wanted to try this place out.
The worst experience I’ve had at any place. The manager or owner Zee (I’m not for sure) misplaced her belonging and publicly accused my friend and I of taking it. I PAID our tab and tried to leave then her, her security, and friends held us there and threatened us. We called the police ( never showed). Almost 1 1/2 hours later when she checked the cameras and realized we was innocent there was no apology or anything. She fanned us off and told us we can go.
I think I’m being nice with 3 stars. Came from Chicago to visit this establishment arrived about 3pm on a Sunday said they were only serving from the brunch menu ok fine. However took a while for someone to approach us anyway. My party ordered the lamb chops with eggs was told they don’t do egg whites and the eggs are from a carton. Finally get our food it’s warm like one step from being cold had a side of Turkey sausage had a refrigerator taste and smelled like it as well. Had to ask for a refill of drinks. Music was great. Hopefully the downtown location is better
The drinks were strong which is a plus, calamari was cooked perfectly and seasoned well… But the WINGS… being an atlanta native, these lemon pepper wings were a BIG DISAPPOINTMENT. They were huge, steroid pumped, not cooked long enough for me (they were kinda fatty/slimey inside) and they lacked traditional lemon pepper. Considering the area it’s in, the run down tables/seats, the small menu/ menu choices, i wouldnt come back.
Tatyana was a great server for us. The lunch menu was very good and the drinks are perfect.
This is a nice vibe when your looking to just relax after a long day at the office. Great hookah and the drink were delicious I had the small fish bowl and 2 of the snoop fitted tie or suit, something like that. The only thing is that I was highly disappointed in the shrimp and grits they didn’t really have much sauce on it and I was eating more dried grits than anything else. The presentation of the dish was ok but under that small thin layer is nothing but dry grits.
Food was so cold and had to hunt the waitress down to reheat it. Asked one of her co workers to ask her to come to the table. While she was smoking hookah I had to go find her again to ask for assistance with reheating my food. Not impressed and very disappointed in the service.
The server wasnt pleasant and service was terrible. But the worst part is that no matter how bad their service is,they charge you 18% gratuity. And we spend 300+ there and we came from Cali. Very disappointed. Wouldnt go again.
My family and I went on a Sunday at 1 pm,I was not able to go in because it was basically a club, which reading the reviews,I should have known. This is not a restaurant,.I wanted to try 2 Chainz restaurant food which if I want to we will have to come back during the week maybe and without our children.Only reason Im rating it is because lack of information ,they should have info on their website for tourist who come in wanting to support. Put times its actually just a restaurant and time and days its a club, that way tourist will know,or it would have been nice if I could have just been able to ordered the food takeout since thats all we was there for is to taste the food.Im just a foodie🤷🏾♀️...I can say the security guard was very nice and informative and guided my family over towards the nice street art that was in the street next to it. Recommendations is just put info on website so its clear to supporters and have a takeout system put in place, keep your great security guard.
Today I had the worst experience at this black owned establishment and I will never return. It’s a Wednesday night and it’s not that busy. Our server Maya did not acknowledge us until after a good 10 to 15 mins after we were seated. We ordered our food, waited maybe 20 more minutes to then receive ice COLD pasta! I mean the food felt as if it came straight from the fridge. The service here is horrible and the staff doesn’t care to go above and beyond because they automatically take 18% gratuity on all checks. They not even doing the bare minimum because THEY DON’T CARE!!!! The manager on duty was worthless! If you’re ok with music so loud you can’t talk with your party, waitresses walking around laughing, dancing and talking or security at the door with choppas strapped across they chest this is the place for you. BUT y’all will never get my time or money again!
Entire experience was horrible. I’m assuming something was being filmed during our time of dining and the music was completely off. Food took over 2 hours to come and was not worth the wait at all. Overall I would never go back.
Ordered crablegs, broccoli, and mashed potatoes. Food took over an hour. Nice waitress. No butter (cold margarine), no crab fork to get the meat out, no crableg cracker to break the shell (hurt my thumbs trying to cack the shell with my fingers), barely warm mashed potatoes that had large lumps of potato and lacked seasoning, overboiled broccoli with no seasoning. Even the ginger beer was a weak ginger ale. This place is more concerned about hookah than its nonseasoned, very mediocre food. Would definitely not recommend or go back.
The GM Z is the sweetest person we always have a good time on Monday nights the Dj Kutt Throat is awesome as wellGet the pasta or shrimp tacos you won’t be disappointed
Service was horrible we sat there 20 min before a server came to say anything.Only for us to find out 2 hours before closing that the kitchen was only doing fried food and the only fried items on the menu was fries and okra. And after that I got a bill for $47 for two drinks and a bottle of water and the drinks was watered down.im truly disappointed because I rock with 2chaiz but this restaurant is not it
The service was absolutely horrible ! It took them a good 30-45 minutes just to give us something to drink . It was barely anybody in there …the waiters seemed to only be worried about people they knew . They walked past us several times …. My homeboy finally got some chicken but he waited so long for it that we eventually ended up just leaving without paying and they didn’t even notice 🤦♀️
This was at EscoSeafood. The crab claws were amazing and a nice size. The fried shrimp were great. The charbroiled oysters left so much to be desired, they werr over-cooked and seemed to have been sitting in the window too long. The waitresses were really nice and they helped each other out, which was good to see. I would repeat a trip there, maybe minus the oysters.
2019 REVIEW!Alright sooooo I went on Thanksgiving Eve which was on a Thursday Night. Im from New York so it was my first time attending. This spot is Dope AF. Music, drinks, hookah, you name it. I had it. Service was pretty good. Didnt have to wait very long for anything. I have a thing for Fried Calamari and it was Delish! Would definitely go back. Cant wait to see what its like on a weekend.see photo attached. Also, 2 Chainz was there. I almost walked right into his section. Silly me. I knew somebody popping was there when I came in because of the car parked out front.
Went only because its 2 chainz restaurant. However the customer service was terrible from the hostess to the waitress. Not many vegetarians options on the menu, from what I could eat the food was just okay and way over priced. Also, they ran out of plates and started bringing half of our tables food out in paper boats. The drinks and music were good though.
This Saturday 8/12/2023, I went to the Marietta location of Escobar in which I was not pleased. The service staff/ servers was not very attentive. Many times had to look for our server and we had a nice sized party that was there. The drinks were watered down and full on ice in small plastic cups...wow. The server said that it was the bartender first day; which was crazy for a Saturday night. The food was not very pleasing and lacking taste. The burgers were dry and the fries were overly salted. I couldnt eat it at all. The fish was overly battered and the list goes on. The atmosphere was cool with music playing and tvs on various channels. I would have expected better quality. Maybe other locations are better Im not sure but kinda uncertain of whether to try it or not.Just providing feedback on my experience.
1st time going labor day weekend on Sunday. I was only able to try the fish bowl with the candy in it. We waited almost an hour and a half for the kitchen to open because they were backed up with orders. We ended up leaving. Hopefully the next time Im in ATL I can actually try the food. I was so amped when I saw that crab cakes were on the menu.
This restaurant is like a soup kitchen. Cups size of shot cup. Waited over 25 mins for the lil girl say they didn’t get my ticket but got my friend food on the same ticket. Place looks horrible seats peeling. Bad customer service, everything is run down give u small amounts of food like they feeding a toddler. Just ghetto random people walking from outside to the kitchen. It’s a mess it’s not worth it.
The food was decent the drinks were okay. Our waiter was terrible, I’m talking about idk what was wrong with her either she was off something or something was wrong, most of the staff was rude idk if it was because the owners were coming that night or what but you would think they would have been on point. The lady at the door was GREAT tho.
Restaurant owners isnt very didn’t honest please be careful with giving these people your personal information Especially Louie Wilkerson He used the business to scam me out of $3400
This is my second visit. I had the Catfish, Collard Greens and Mac & Cheese…It was really good. The drinks were on point, the setting and vibe of music didn’t disappoint. I look to return on my next visit. However, I started to change my review after after giving a 5 star rating. The comedy show was horrible. They all attacked the guests, in which some of them left. The caliber comedians chosen should match the business. That was straight garbage and we left right after. Everything else was well worth the visit.
Made us order a bottle to sitFood took *literally* 1hr 40 mins to comeFood was good thoughMusic was great
Whew, food was good for late night bites. The late night service was bad. My party had to constantly get up to find and get our servers attention, and she was a bit too impaired be at work. Great music! The kept it as clean as they could, and my family enjoyed the space!
It wasnt the best first experience. From the establishment being out of just about everything on the menu, to them shooting a video inside, to them taking forever on our food, to my burger bun being rock hard, to my girlfriend ordering shrimp tacos and instead of it having 4 shrimp it was 2 shrimp cut in half. Just not an good 1st experience at all.
Ive ate here many times with no issues and the food was cool not great but cool. Yesterday I had the crab cakes and the crab meat tasted like came from pre cooked frozen crab cake. Didnt tase fresh at all and was bland. The mac and cheese is normally great here but yesterday it was filled with oil and tasted oily instead of the norm. The mashed potatoes wernt mashed they were chopped. I was too hungry to send it back and wait. But I wasnt impressed this go round.
My bff and I came for our birthday. The burger we bought was banging!! But the service wasnt great. Alot of the waiters were definitely jacked on something. They were all over the place including outsideWe didnt know who our server was for awhile until we asked when we would be able to order our food? If they were licking their gums they were rolling there eyes around. Im assuming they wanted to be on a different planet to feel the whole club type atmosphere. Idk. Out waiter clearly wasnt focused 100% on our table. She took our order but some of it was wrong. But after waiting a 20mins to order than a hr to get our food. We picked off what we didnt want and ate our food because we were starving at that point. Our waiter was outside alot. So we eneded up leaving our money on the table because she didnt come back to us.If it wasnt affiliated with 2chains which were fans of. We would had left. If you go there already tore up or drunk then the vibe is for you. But going and wanting a nice place to eat and hear music. The wait was wayyyy to long and the workers were more focus on their own vibe than the customers
Getting in and getting seated didnt take long at all. Getting drinks and food is the hold up if your night. And waitress come trying to have you order more drinks and never have food. I know we have been waiting for a hour for food and only one person at our table received food. I say they need to upgrade on the service in the kitchen.. I makes no sense and I enjoyed the music and atmosphere was great.
The food was cold and when I asked where the crab corn salsa that came with my catfish the response I got was oh well we must be out of it was just not a great experience
I had a good experience. I attended brunch on 7/15/23. We arrived at 11am but they were not actually open, they need to update their hours of operation on all socials. My friend and I came back after noon and got brunch, drinks and hookah. Everything was great and the service was good.
It was the worst experience Ive had ever. First they had men outside scamming customers on parking, the security didnt try to intervene they just let the guys defraud their customers. Next thing I know Im almost in a fight at the door for parking on the street. The service ŵas average at best. The food was decent, portions small but decent food. Also, the music was way too loud you cant even have a conversation with friends. Overall total experience was a negative 1.
This place is a spot and the service is HORRIBLE!! We was seated and the waitress never came back to take our order. We ended up going to the bar just to be serviced. We ordered drinks and food, which both were really good, but was skeptical to eat because the maintenance of the club is not well kept. On top of that, a 18% gratuity is included in your bill so that maybe half the reason the service is bad because they getting their cut anyways.
Great vibe and chill spot but not sure why my group had our server changed 3x... happy hour prices are worth it. $5 drinks served in a smaller cup but theyre good. The servers attempted to bring all the food out at once which caused some items to be cooler than others but still had to wait for one person meal. Hookah came out the fastest, it is decent and must be paid up front. It is loud in the place so might be difficult to get anyones attention.
Their food is horrible and the bill comes out crazy. Not a single soul finished their food. Only good thing was the server. Even the atmosphere gives bad vibes. Had to come back and say, how can we leave a restaurant hungry?
Came on a Sunday morning, missed brunch which was fine. Upon entry a server greeted us and told us to “not let anyone else take our order” which was fine but a few moments later another server came and they argued over who’s “turn” it was prolonging our wait. Ordered hookah, hookah was awful!!!!!! DJ sucked so vibes were off sounded like music on shuffle, no real mixing. Food is normally good but was awful this time! Not to mention our server Scotty was fairly nice but very slow, didn’t check on us, was just going through the motions probably because there is a guaranteed tip. WONT BE BACK!
I celebrated my birthday at Escobar during Lifestyle Sundays hosted by Chris Cole. Chris was very attentive and made sure my girls and I were satisfied the entire evening. We had such an amazing time that another one of my friends just celebrated her birthday this past Sunday there and once again Lifestyle Sundays hosted by Chris Cole did not disappoint. If you are celebrating a birthday or an event this is definitely the spot with Lifestyle Sundays hosted by Chris Cole!!!
Went here for my birthday this past Saturday. I support my people but I must be honest. Building exterior, inside furniture outdated. Bathroom door didn’t lock. The DJ was good and our waitress was good. For the prices y’all charge you can make it look better.
This was a great time. The food was so good. Get the fried greens an the turkey burger. Best part was the service from barista Diamond. The cocktails were perfect, she’s super personable and really knowledgeable about all things Escobar
Had a terrible experience at this establishment. Paid to park in the designated area only to greeted by a guy claiming to have worked for Esco attempting to charge people $50 additional to avoid tickets and towing. He was very disrespectful calling my friends and I out of our names and after going disputing the issue with us, ended up pulling out a firearm. Ridiculous! There was no security present and we ultimately were not let in by the front attendant due to that situation. There need to be more safety protocols in place and entrance procedures. Absolute terrible experience and I DO NOT recommend due to safety concerns!!!!!
Music is entirely too loud and the service was sub par at best. Our waitress was very nice but other than that I don’t see a reason to ever come here again. The food was okay but very overpriced and their sections as well. And let me not start on my friends experience . She waited for over an hour for her lamb chops just for them to tell her they ran out! Literally Just all vibes and aesthetics not worth it all. And they put cold cheese on her mac and cheese when she finally got her food after 2 hours!
I don’t have time to explain everything but I will say the tables were dirty, they didn’t have half of the items on the menu then the shipment can’t thru the front door like they went to the store down the street! The bathrooms are nasty! The hookah was gross looking, flies all over the place! I wouldn’t recommend this place to my worst enemy! 2 Chainz do better!
Food was awful and cold . Had to wait 40 minutes for it. I ordered the wings with fries and Mac and cheese . Mac and cheeses was dry . Server / bartender had not very good customer service I could tell she didn’t care . I love you 2 chainz but I will not be back here . I was looking forward to the Columbus location because I live in Cleveland but I changed my mind
I would not recommend anyone go here and expect top tier service. We waited almost 25 mins for someone to acknowledge us as we sat waiting. Long after a lady comes over stating she’s the manager and she is so sorry. But the whole time we waited she was just across from us at the bar. I thought she was a customer. The food was just ok but they were out of taco shells. No turkey burgers available. So had to just get a shrimp basket. Then the waiter couldn’t produce my change from my check. She said I only have a certain amount. Which was over what I was due. So I asked her to just get the correct change. Her reply was I’ll try. This is a restaurant and a business. Why would she not be able to produce my exact change due back!It was like she was trying to force a tip!For one I was never tipping a place that had terrible customer service. On top of all of this. Security took my lip gloss because it had a sharp point. No worries. He says get it back when u leave. Ok coolWell it’s time to leave and the man who took the gloss has now left!!What type of business are runningRetraining is needed
Came in for Brunch, loved the atmosphere, food, plus the Service was A1. For Brunch I had 2 entress... Peach Cobbler French Toast, Eggs, grits, turkey sausage, plus hashbrowns. Enjoyed Unlimited Mimosas while the Atmosphere was Lit, the Bartender possibly popped about 10 bottles of Champagne bubbly with Music and other guests rolling. Definitely a Go To Spot!
The service was extremely POOR!! Visiting from Miami and we (4 of us) waited over 2 hours and we didn’t even get our food. When one of us did finally receive our food, it was not presentable at all. I spoke to the manager about this matter and her response was they are only down to 1 cook. The waitress barely came over to check in on us. Not to mention she spilled Mac sauce on my fiancé. The Fiji water was definitely over priced. Then they wanted us to pay for service we didn’t receive. Horrible experience.
I wish it was other options that’s how horrible the service was … You all just need new staff.. There is never any management available. The customer service sucks sooo bad and then you guys never have nothing that’s on the menu . And also don’t honor anything that’s posted on your website.. besides the fact the furniture and everything in there looks old GREG shows no effort to please his customers. Which he claim he was the manager on duty. He sat and ate his lunch while we waited patiently and didn’t even bring us whatever.. after asking for water he brings bottles of Fiji which is fine but if you all don’t have tap water mention it and give me a option don’t just add to my tab . If I had 2chains information personally I would tell him throw the whole restaurant away! They wonder why people don’t like to support black businesses! He’s luck gratuity was added he would have gotten a penny!
I hate complaining I wholeheartedly do but Wow, NO SOAP in men restroom and the Food was HORRIBLE!! I ordered two 8 pieces of wings that came to $40. Wings wasn’t good AT ALL I think they forgot to put my lemon pepper on there/and the fries was WORSE..
Do 2chainz even visit here? Im really shocked how the furniture looked I didnt want to take pictures because everything is torn up the chicken and waffles was not even all of that after spending money there to eat we went else where to eat again. The server will argue with you up and down and a mistake that was made on their behalf instead of correcting the issue its a big fuss the vibe check was cool I wouldnt go back here at all
Went in for a quick bite. The food was okay. I had to wait for a long time for the food to come out because only one person was cooking in the back. Not sure why my fries came out not so hot, but I was hungry, and I ate them. The waitress was friendly but did forget that I asked for two drinks and had to remind her about that, which she made it seem as if it was the first time I asked. Ask for a strawberry lemonade, and that was horrible. Over will not go back here. The setting was okay. Nothing to brag about.
I was very excited to come from NC to visit esco for the Labor Day weekend. We were told that we didn’t have to make reservations and just walk in. When we got there we were told two different times for food orders. Initial we were told an one hour wait; then, our waiter said it would not be that long. We waited over an hour.It started to rain so we went in to try to get a seat. We were told to move from two different booth areas, I asked a guy if we could sit with him which he left 3 minutes later. Not even 10 minutes later we were asked to move. Which was fine even though were reluctant to move because that was the third time we had to move and we were just over it. The waitress was very rude, unprofessional, and had a hostile attitude. I felt threatened by the waitress demeanor and the look she gave me as if she wanted to fight me over a table. The manager witnessed the whole thing; therefore, I feel she is okay with employees treating patrons with disrespect. If it wasn’t for the fact we had already paid for our food, we would have just left. There are no refunds. We went back outside when the rain settled at this point my day was ruined by the waitress aggressive and childish attitude, the dysfunction, and the fact we realized several people that came in after us, got their food before us. I ordered salmon and it was dry, the Mac and cheese and mashed potatoes were delicious. I would advise people to make a reservation; even if, told other wise or just order out. I wouldn’t go back.
Im too old for this establishment... lol. I realized this when a barely dressed girl was the waitress, and when we didnt want to get a hookah table, she walked away. Didnt ask if we wanted drinks or food... had to go to the bar to order drinks. Drank them quickly and called an Uber. 1st clue should have been the way we were greeted (4, well seasoned, diva aged women) by the man who helped us out of the Uber. He referred to me and my girls as grown women! Cute place, but not if youre over 30. Enter at your own risk. (joking).
Ok let me school yall Jive ass Turkeys from a customer P.O.V.......figured out a different less noticeable way to upsale ,increasing a customer ticket its an art to doing so. It took an hour and a half for lays potatoe chips with salmon on top and a couple of wings.Yo Best Salmon Chips@ Serpas and 2 urban Licks@$17.00 so clearly its not about my tab$$$$😘holding my food order in hopes i order another drink.....if my drink was stronger I probably would have ordered 1 more ice bowl. Im a strong believer in tipping.....the waiter was nice howeverI dont want to wait 1hour & a half for Tapas and it wasnt that busy.I shouldnt be forced to leave a 15% gratuity for whet.......
ESCO is not a bad place. It does, however, depend on what time of the day you go there. The food is great, very flavorful, and they have an open bar. The women there dress very attractively, but it is hard to make out what they are saying as the music drowns out their voices. Would I go there again? Yes, but the atmosphere is not for everyone but not in a bad way. Parking is scarce, so arrive as early as possible.
Terrible experience. Ordered 2 shots of Herradura and closed my tab at $27. Order one more shot and a bottle of water and got charged $65. I asked for a breakdown of my receipt and received a changed of a fish plate, don Julio (which we do NOT drink under any circumstance), and a Hennessy. I thought it was a mistake so I asked for the correct receipt. Gave me the same receipt # with two don Julio shots and 1 herradura and a bottle of water. I asked the staff to look at the cameras to confirm what I was served and they said they can’t. Filed a BBB and will be awaiting the response and/refund upon confirmation of the camera footage review. Stop playin with me.
Visitors Beware - My Husband and I traveled to Atlanta for the Beyonce concert and during our visit we decided to stop here for brunch. Initially we couldnt find a park, so we rode past the front where there was a guy in an orange vest charging $40 to park. However, there is a sign on the restaurant door saying they are not affiliated with any parking personnel, so we decided to park in a paid parking lot nearby. While in the restaurant I noticed the same guy who attempted to charge us for parking kept coming in the restaurant as if he was a regular and the staff seem to know him. We ate brunch, and the food was ok, nothing special. Needless to say after we finished eating brunch we came back to our car broken into, back window busted and personal belongings stolen... Yall do the math...BEWARE
Our food was hot and tasted great! My first time here, customer service was even great! Most definitely will be back for a different menu item and hooka. Great vibes!
Came at night on a Saturday and was easily seated. There is street parking only so get in where you fit in. My table had the salmon alfredo, wings and crab bowl. All the food was good. The hostess was outside majority of the time flirting with the cops. Service was a little slow.
The atmosphere was electric. I went on a Sunday for brunch and they had music playing and were doing Karaoke. I thought the Karaoke part was fun. The wait time however was long considering a reservation was made in advance. We waited for an hour because apparently the previous quest were running behind. The food was mediocre not worth the money at all. I ordered shrimp and grits and I have had better. The drinks were good tho. I definitely would recommend if you like a good atmosphere and drinks.
Paid $60 to get in and was told to wait should be seated. Nobody ever came to seat us, had to find someone to give us a table the only tables they had were outside and it was cold but that was fine. The music was good but the staff was extremely rude especially the bottle girls! I stay because my friend wanted to go there for her bridal night but I don’t think I’ll ever return. I spent like almost $200 there just for us to get five shrimp a piece
I placed an UberEats order. The restaurant canceled my order almost 1 hour later. No explanation as to why. Im very disappointed and will not being doing any business with this establishment. Step ya game up because Im not impressed. You cant treat your customers like this! Such a shoddy operation! I wasnt able to taste the food I ordered. What a real shame! 👎🏽
The atmosphere was PERFECT !! However the service sucks !!! Tables were dirty when we first walked in . Food was ok not the best at all !!! Would come back years later but they’ll need to improve their service first
2nd time here. First time the waitress charged us $60 just to be seated. food was good.. but that was unnecessary. Now we came again the waitress was rude.. she barley checked on us… the Instagram said happy hour every Monday-Friday 2-8 which is why we came and that wasn’t true. Our billCame out too more then what it was suppose to be charged… never again I’m cool on this place service is trash and the prices are overly highly for no reason, when it’s time for the bill they charge you more idk if they add they own tip in but yeah never again. Do not recommend sorry
1 star only because the drinks were good but other than that it was a trash experience. I waited almost an hour for my food and when I received it was incorrect. The food looked nothing like advertised on the menu from the presentation to the portion size. I watched employees, customers that came in after me, and security all get food before me. If you’re trying to get food I do not recommend this place.
The only reason that I’m giving 2 stars is because I love 2 chainz and my past experiences here. My experience last night was horrible compared to the many times I’ve been to Escobar before. The server was basically avoiding my husband and I when we tried to catch her attention. She charged a member of our party for 2 beers, when she only brought one. Lied and said she would fix the ticket but still charged him for it anyway. We placed our food order at 12:34am and didn’t get it until after 2:15am. It was not that packed in there for the it to take so long. Not to mention she had a nasty attitude when taking our order. My husband didn’t get his drink from the bar until I was half way done with mine. The vibe was “ehhhhhh”. The DJ played the same song 4 times. All these songs out here in the world and you decide to play the same songs multiple times? Will not be returning to Escobar.
This establishment was nice! I just got in town, and most restaurants were closed and/or closed at 10. Great vibes, music was on point, and even saw 2 chains in the house! Hubby and I enjoyed ourselves. We will be back!
We arrived at 11:40 pm. $30 to get in. I honestly think that We were finessed. We wanted to eat because we assumed it was a restaurant before arriving. So I guess it turns to a lounge after a certain time. We get in and you have to buy a bottle to have a table. Cheapest is $150. It was like we were ordering bottle service at a club. Waitress came out to our tables with our drink with sparklers, just like the club. It was strange. Anyway the food was okay. I wasn’t impressed bc with the price of everything some food came out in plastic baskets with wax paper like at a hole in the wall joint. Not to expect because I’m paying bottle service. Is this a restaurant or a lounge? I felt scammed the whole time. Overrated but maybe fun with a group to split a bottle for a night out. I have no idea what lunch is like.
This was a fun experience! The food was good and the drinks were priced right. The most important thing about this establishment was how quickly the management responded to issues I saw other people having. The bathroom had been trashed by patrons and when the management was notified, they quickly went to clean it up! I was so impressed! Then the table next to us was not happy with how their food came out. The manager on duty (Thursday, May 27th) came over, apologized and within 10-15 minutes she had a new plate, piping hot and everything looked delicious!! I was so proud to witness the customer service this place offered!! Definitely check this place out!!
So I went to Escobar for my birthday on November 28. From the beginning my experience was horrible. The hostess had a really nasty attitude. It took the hostess 10 minutes to acknowledge us and it wasn’t busy at all. Then once we got seated it took at least 30 minutes for a server to come to us and realize that we did not have a server. We ordered the bottomless mimosas and it tasted like orange juice and seltzer water. They were disgusting and not worth $20 per person. I ordered shrimp and grits and my husband ordered chicken and waffles which ended up being chicken and French toast because they ran out of waffles. We received our food. The chicken tasted like burnt old grease and looked burnt and was not seasoned. The shrimp was seasoned but it was the only thing about the shrimp and grits that was seasoned other than the sauce. The grits were not seasoned and were soupy. By the time I left I was nauseous because of the food and I was highly disappointed. I couldn’t even finish half of my food. I got nauseous, my husband started to feel sick as well. Highly disappointed and not worth the money at all.
The food was good. My wife really enjoyed the Tru drink. The one issue was there was only one waitress in the entire restaurant. She handled every table. I believe she said her name was Diamond. She handled her business. The hostess could have definitely been a little more friendly.
Hosy was great. Server hit so much! We’ve been sitting here for over an hour with no food. On a Sunday yes it’s slightly busy but I’ve seen it busier. Ordered bottomless mimosas..have only recieved two. Has failed to check on us or give us an update on our food. It’s really hard to support my people when this kind of service is what’s provided.Sadly, this will be my last time coming to this establishment.
Very, very disappointed with this experience. This will be my first and last time at this restaurant. It took a whole hour to cook 10 chicken wings. The server was nice the food was iight. I ordered hot lemon pepper wings and got hot wings. My friend order hot lemon pepper wings as well and got lemon pepper wings. It’s wings, how do you mess up wings. Music is good. That’s all I really have nice to say about this place.
Cool restaurant/bar. Upon pulling up, we noticed about 5 young men hanging outside of the front door. We parked across the street ON THE STREET and upon walking to the door of the restaurant, one of the young men told me that it would be $30 to park where I parked. I thought he was joking but he was very serious. I told him that the street belongs to the city and he can’t charge for street parking. I walked off and as the waitress was walking us to our table, the security officer came and got me and told me to come outside. I turned around, went outside and the young man then told me that he would only charge me $20. He told me that after a certain time, the street parking in front of the restaurant belongs to Escobar. I was in disbelief and couldn’t believe the restaurant was allowing this madness to even happen. I told him I was going to talk to the manager and I walked off. Very weird and it’s strange that the restaurant’s manager allows these guys to bombard the guests as they walk in. I can only imagine how many people they’ve gotten over on.Food was cold so we went it back for them to warm it up. Food was tasty and drinks were good but I won’t be back!
The restaurant overall need a good cleaning. As I do understand inflation has taken place and will rise again. The quantity I received didnt equate to the amount I paid, albeit fresh quality. I rally do love this place as I always rave about the food here, especially as Im driving uber/lyft and riders frequently ask for great places to eat and Im always suggesting this local find. Time to revamp 2c and Sn.
Food was amazing. Music was great. Service was trash. Gratuity is automatically included regardless of the party size so I feel like waiters don’t care as much because they know they are getting 18% tip regardless.
Stopped in on a Wednesday night. Sat at the bar. Drink and food menus were handed out immediately, ok cool. We ordered 2 beers, shrimp/fries and wings/fries. Food took so long to come out, I asked that it be boxed up. Got the bill $53!!! What they dont tell you is that they charge an automatic 18% gratuity to your bill. Thats ridiculous for a party of two and the bill is less than $60. Not to mention the building needs some repairs. Ceiling was leaking and water on the floor and no one working there seemed to care. Were not even going to discuss how disgusting that restroom was. Sorry I wont be back to this location. Heard the morrow location is better.
To begin, the security outside was overly aggressive just to get in the door. Second there was nobody at the door to greet us and when someone did come she was just like you can sit down. Next when we ordered beverages(non alcoholic) she told us they werent working sooo.... then she went to get a pineapple juice (because that was the only non alcoholic drink) and took her time to come back because she was busy smoking hookah with someone sitting at the bar. So it took her so long that we decided we were leaving and only wanted to pay for the drinks they drank and not the one she just brought over but she told me I had to pay for it anyway and take it with me. Now Im from out of town and wanted to come support but if thats the type of service they giving, IM GOOD!
The manager Z has definitely brought some class to Esco , I love her energy & her structure when it come to running the restaurant. The other managers are super sloppy & non approachable but Z really made me feel welcomed as long as she is here I will continue coming I love seeing her . The yellow bone manager is rude & always drunk.
My friends and I stopped by here to celebrate her birthday! As excited as we were to eat there we were equally disappointed! We made reservations way in advance and was told at check in that we had to purchase bottle service to sit on the lighted right side and if we were not going to purchase bottle service we would be sitting on the darker left side. We could not fathom spending $200 for a table then on top of that add in the food charges so we opted for the left side. We waited over 10 mins, no one came to get our drink order or introduce themselves to us so we just left disappointed. They should really disclose the fact that you will NOT get great customer service if you dont fork out the money to sit. We came for the food and experience and sadly we left with no food and a bad experience.
Was seated waitress never came to our table. We had to order our drinks from the bar. Was told a waitress would be right with us to order our food waited 45 minutes still no service. We left with any service. People came in after us and left because of no service. We spent 40 for 2 drinks. Worse experience hopefully things will get better.
The happy hour selection of food was surprising. The wings and catfish nuggets are really good and cheap! The Fries are so-so. If you dont mind well drinks, the happy hour drinks are decent. We spent more for the specialty cocktails and they were good. The service was good as well. Only dislikes were lots of hookah smoke and the chairs at the higher tables are uncomfortable.
Service is terrible. Takes too long to get food, all I got was salmon chips. Takes too long to order, order something else, get your check and checkout. And I was sitting at the bar. 🙄 The food wasnt that good its just okay. The dj was good though. And something wrong with their card machine. It doesnt take some cards. Half my party card didnt work. And the girl wouldnt even try punching in the card numbers to make it work. Not a place I would go back to.
So I want to start by saying the food was good and the music was as well oh and our waitress I think her name was Isis she was amazing. However, this was my second time going there with a party and having to stand up waiting despite having reservations. The first time I went there I was with a friend for her birthday and she had already paid and everything yet when we got there they said that she didnt reserve correctly. We stood there for almost 2 hours just for them to say they will refund her the money. Im guessing someone was already seated in our section though they told her she didnt pay correctly. It was super unorganized and a man there tried cursing her out. Mind you he works there. Okay so now we fast forward to last night. I went there with my sister and it was for her birthday. The same thing happened she paid by actually going there earlier in the week but when she got there they claimed they had no where to sit us although we had already paid for everything. They ended up sitting us 45 minutes later although there were people who came afterwards and was sat before us. It was giving unorganized again. Its crazy because Ive experienced this TWICE with two different parties at the same location. Its unorganized and I dont like it. I just thought someone should know.
They gave us Glory greens out the can !! Lamb was not the best , but the atmosphere was cool along with the waitresses
Let me first state that I only gave a 2 star rating because the DJ and atmosphere was good, however the customer service from the door was very disappointing. Being a business owner myself I value great customer service!!!!So, I made reservations a month in advance for a party of 7 traveling from another state. I paid the required deposit and I was sent the alcohol list with confirmation of my booking. Fast forward to 12/12 @ 9:45 pm arrived to our 10pm reservation and was told that there was no table to accommodate a party our size and we we need to get another table(size up) added meaning purchase another bottle. Now Im frustrated, but since were there we go ahead and get the larger section. Get to the section and it was really too small, but we cram into area. Attempted to order our extra bottle, and the didnt have the first 3 bottles we wanted, now Im even more frustrated. We order our food, drink what we had, danced a little, then were told right after we finished eating our time is up....o hell nawlll!!!! No apologies, no accommodations for such an error on their end. And let me mention that I saved all correspondence when I booked the reservations and paid my deposit and I wasnt told nothing about this seating arrangement. I also showed these texts to the host when ask to see. It shouldnt be as much about popping bottles that customer service isnt a priority!! I was disappointed and will definitely try another venue when visiting Atlanta next time.
I had reservation at 7:45 pm on Saturday night with five friends and we were excited to have a good time but that quickly changed. We were seated for over a hour and a half with a hookah that didn’t work properly, no food, and no drinks. We were told they were unstaffed but turns out the staff was fighting in the back.We watched all the waitresses take turns going outside to converse with various people. We paid the bill left this “business” hungry and annoyed.
We decided to visit Escobar last night just to chill. So far everything was going good. We ordered our drinks and food. The drinks came on time but it took about 30 mins to get our food so we decided to leave. We would have stayed longer but it shouldnt have to take 30 mins for no food when our order was taken soon as we got to sit down. Poor customer service in waiting for your food to come.
Im so sad that this place has gotten so ridiculous with the price of drinks. It used to be my number one spot to go to when people come in town but now One shot of don julio cost 24 dollars!! What!!! I paid 22 dollars for a don julio margarita made fresh in Manhattan with a view of the river a few months ago! This place is on peter street, really???? Wow, what a rip of off.. A bottle cost just 60 dollars so thats a markup to 357 dollars per bottle. Just be aware, Ask for the price of your drinks before you buy it and also expect to pay mandatory 18% gratuity.. Hookahs are 45 dollars.
I went to Escobar expecting great food, good service and a good time. I enjoyed the music, I enjoyed the meal however I did not enjoy the experience I had with the waitress or the manager. After eating my food I gave my card the the waitress and received a receipt back that had 2 incorrect meals listed. The drinks were correct, the meals were not. I was charged $2-$3 more per meal based on what was charged. I told the waitress and she swore up and down she was giving me a deal because she ‘charged my drinks to someone else’ …she didn’t charge my drinks to someone else, they were listed correctly on the receipt. It was the food that needed to be adjust. I’m not hurting for the couple dollars- but it’s the fact that I’m also being charged an automatic 18% gratuity and tax on a meal that is more expensive than what I actually purchased. She then proceeded to ‘void’ the transaction and rerun my card for the correct amount. Two days later my account reflected that both charges came out of my account. Nothing was refunded. I called the and spoke to Nick who said there’s no way I was charged because it said ‘voided’ on his end. I called my bank to confirm it had indeed been charged. Then called back and spoke with Lawrence who said to text him a picture of the transaction because it said ‘refunded’ on his end. Now I’m stuck doing a visa dispute because they double charged me over $90 TWICE and refused to believe even after I provided proof. Do not recommend places like this. Double thumbs down.
This place was just okay. The drinks were not as good as they couldve been. One was missing ingredients listed on the menu and something else added. The other shouldve been a mixed drink and was more like a frozen drink. For one food order, the fries were the best part (shrimp tacos). For the other (shrimp and grits) it was not good at all. With the exception of the shrimp being decently seasoned. The grits were undercooked, and as a cheese and grits fan way too much was added. The crowd isnt my preference. This environment works for a lot of people. However its not my flow and Im not sure if Ill return. Did feel good to support a Black owned business though. I never have a problem with that.
UPDATE: I’m a frequent customer here on most Sundays for brunch and karaoke, and the bartender (not GIGI) had the nerve to hold my drink until I paid for it. I’ve never had to pay for a drink before even touching it. It is VERY hot in this place plus it’s packed and there’s smoke. In 90+ degree GA weather, that’s not what’s up. I won’t be coming as much in the summer time because of this. I love GIGI the bartender tho! This place is basically a small club. Food is still good but can’t eat here in the summer time. Too hot! I would never pay for a table or to get in. It’s really a hole in the wall spot with small, old furniture to sit on. Sundays are the best from 12-5pmHad fun and it was PACKED for brunch on Sunday around 2pm. DJ and karaoke on deck. Food was great as well. I had the salmon croquettes with a couple of mimosas to drink. I will be back!
I must say, I was highly disappointed. When we sat down, we waited for a waitress for 15min. We asked two waitress who our waitress was and their response basically echoed each other- “that’s not my section”. It was to the point my dude had to go to the bar to find our waitress. The waitress we had wanted to spend more time twerking, talking, and smoking hookah than service her tables. She was very rude and did not allow us to give a full order before walking off! She certainly was not attentive to her tables and I had to tell her to remove cups and trash from the table. I ordered the crab cakes, and the food runner just placed our food on the table, did not even bother to ask who had what! Not only was my order wrong, but the crab cakes were salty as hell and my side were warm-not hot! Definitely won’t be back.
Chains! Always been a fan & admire your music & craft. However, as my second timeGoing to Escobar on Peter Street I was extremely disappointed. I want to share my experience JUST A FEW MOMENTS AGO. Myself & four others came from Baltimore to visit Atlanta as we frequently do and made a reservation for tonight. The customer service we received was unfriendly. We were unaware it was a $20 cover charge AND a $250 bottle limit and we ONLY wanted to eat. I’ve been to your restaurant before and the food was delicious so I recommended it to my family. If we would’ve known these prices before hand we would have been more prepared for this. We were under the impression we could reserve a section to eat and enjoy the vibe. We are truly disappointed with the carelessness and misinformation. I just wanted to make you aware. Thanks.
Reservations were made and we were seated as soon as we arrived! That is always a great start to your evening! We sat at the sofa. It wasnt as comfortable as I would have liked, adding some more cushion under the sitting pillows would have made for a little bit better experience. I recommend sitting at the tables. That was not a show stopper at all. Although I probably would have stayed longer. The food....SMH...it was AWESOME! I had the blackened catfish, spinach, mashed potatoes and fried okra. Oh my goodness! It was perfect! Not something I would normally get, dont know why I tried it, but I am glad I did! My wife had the shrimp tacos and she talked about how good they were and how filling it was. I tried it too and it was good. I like how they cut the shrimp up and you get a lot. The food is spicy but it did not bother me. My wife doesnt care for too spicy but she still liked it and ate it all. So if you dont like spicy let them know if you order those two dishes. We had the Mecca of the South drink. It taste real good but could have used more alcohol. Usually one mixed drink gives my wife a buzz but it didnt do anything to her.Not a place for kids. Adults only! Expect loud music on a Saturday night if you make a reservation and do not sit in the bottle service section. Not sure how it was over there. They do have hookahs, so expect smoke. I will be going back and recommend people try it. If I sit at a table and my drink is stronger I would change the 4 star to a 5. Definitely a spot for the culture! Overall, it was a great experience by a black owned business.
We ate her our second night in Atlanta. Being a tourist and reading reviews I expected so much more. Upon arrival I had a reservation, Even showed the host the confirmation from open table which they no longer used but is still an option the website. I showed her my confirmation and she said “ I see it but we don’t use that any more”.I let it go and asked for a table for two. I was told the wait would be 20 mins. It was 45 mins and we were seated at a table that had been empty since we walked in the door. Our hookah and drinks were great. The Alfredo was more like soup but tasted ok. Our waitress was great. The host just needed better communication skills. At one part of our conversation I had to tell her I wasn’t interested In arguing i just wanted to eat. We were served, paid out the door…. Even made a couple stops before being in for the night before we got the notification our table was ready.
It was okay overall but definitely did not live up to the hype. The Atlanta location is extremely small so everyone was basically sitting in each others laps. The restaurant needs updates definitely, noticed a few broken tables that they were still seating guests at.. I ordered the shrimp and grits and the grits were watery and had lots of lumps, and i hate lumpy grits. The hookah was $42 and my friend and i barely got to enjoy it because there was only one girl working the hookah and she was extremely busy. But our server were nice and it is 4/20 friendly so that was good and the drinks were decent. Not sure if Ill be returning to this location.. Hoping that the one in Morrow might be better
The atmosphere was cool but they were out of too much....no steak, no lamb, chicken wings and some other things. The shrimp and grits were good.
How is it that my meal was $28 and my drink $10 but my total was $55.36, and I gave a money 💴 tipI as robbed at pen 🖊 pointThe waitress forgot about us when we ask for water.Man never again there is yes way. The location was a vibe but our waitress is a thief. Because we are celebrating 🥳 I won’t do more than this reviewNever even knew her name😡🤬
Ordered food with friends waiting over an hour for our meal. The service was terrible and I can’t blame the waitress because she was serving the restaurant by herself. When the food finally it was one plate at time 10 to 15 minutes apart. No seafood available must of the menu is seafood and it wasn’t available. One of the worst dinner experiences I ever had.
On June 18,2022 we were referred by a guy working at the trap museum referred us to this place. We excited to go. Upon arrival the man working the door was funny and very pleasant. However; after reviewing the menu picking out our drinks and of course making some fabulous snap chats, 20-25 minutes had passed and no one had approached our table, not even to offer ice water. So we decided to leave. As we walked out we were asked why we were leaving and we explained. Im sorely disappointed because very place bwe had been too we received excellent service and great food. Well except at Escobars...
Unfortunately, after we ordered drinks with the intention of moving to a table the host told us we could not sit. They were reserving seats at that point in time and neglected to tell us that before we ordered. Mind you we had already communicated we’d be moving to a table . My husband told the bartender to cancel our drinks since we’d have nowhere to sit (not even the bar) and we left. Seconds later the bartender ran out, screaming that we ordered and didn’t pay and she needs her money. Several men also ran out in a panic. My husband communicated that he spoke to her to cancel the order and we were only in there for a few minutes. The police officer on duty verified. The manager calmly rectified the situation and my husband compensated him. If we would have known it would have been an issue we would not have just left. It was extremely embarrassing and unprofessional.
Good atmosphere and music but food left a lot to be desired, this is definitely not fine dining. The drinks were not strong at all. After 3 drinks not even a buzz. Our server was more interested in talking to the other workers than providing us with good service. Also they added a gratuity to our bill even though there was only 4 of us and that charge was not communicated prior to receiving our bill. Its actions like this that make it hard to support our black establishments.
Our first time we both 6 females and we celebrating our friend birthday one of the bottles girl came and pushed us out the area then we requested Dusse with the section and the bottle girl said it was $200 with seating soon and bottle girl came back with a ticket for $361 and said they didn’t have Dusse/why would you charge a card if you don’t have what we want. Manager came and did absolutely nothing but say she would refund us. I know if you get a refund you have to have your card swiped and a receipt that says refund/ she came back with the charge receipt. Ruined the entire birthday party. Drained from going back and forth and we never got the bottle but got charged please don’t go there if you don’t want to get hustled out of your money. 2Chainz do better!
The food is great, the vibe is even better! I have been here twice. The first time was during the week, my coworkers and I decided to get some drinks for a birthday celebration. Happy hour options were so delicious! The second time was on a Saturday evening for a Bridal Shower. The food was lit, the music was lit, it was so much fun.
Me and my best friend went here last night. Great vibe. Drinks were great and definitely get you there. I ordered the pasta w shrimp and she got shrimp and grits. For the price it was worth it. If you want to eat and drink comfortably I suggest getting there before 9pm and make a reservation. Have cash/cash app for parking because you won’t find any without it. Server and Food took a while to come out but it was a Saturday night so that was expected. Overall a good time.
2 people Dining. 1st person got their food 20 minutes prior to the 2nd person getting theirs. The 2nd person was me. I told the waitress that my cousin needed a box, we needed our checks and I no longer wanted my food. She walked away to get the manager and out the air came up with my entree which was beyond room temp now. Inedible and the shrimp tacos appeared to have 1 shrimp cut up in both the tacos. The tacos had nothing on them that were listed to the menu. The manager did take the entree off the bill. The drinks we ordered from the drink menu were horrible as well, one sip and done (1+1 and Honeybee). Just dont go in unless you looking for a common mixed drink (like crown and coke), people watch, or looking for hookah and catch the vibe.
Went for brunch on a Sunday and the drinks and food are great. I had the snoops suit drink and the red velvet chicken and waffles. Both were great. There is a live dj and he constantly plays great music. The servers were attentive and followed up just the right amount of times. Overall a great place for brunch.
It didnt take long to be seated because they were not busy however that is the only thing that didnt take long. The food took over 45 mins to come to the table and then it was COLD. Mostly all of my friends and I food was cold which is ridiculous after that long wait. I got the crab cake with potatoes and the crab cake was good after they heated it back up probably in a microwave. I liked the french toast also. The waitress did not come to check on us very often. The music was wayyy too loud at times. I went there at 12pm for brunch with the loud music you wouldve thought it was 12am if it wasnt daylight outside. Even though it was loud for the most part the music was good and the dj was turning things up. I liked the atmosphere and seeing all my black folks, but it wasnt enough to make me want to go back. They were out of of some of the food also so that limited our choices.
First time visitors from out of town and our party had a great time. The vibe was dope for a Sunday afternoon food was delicious service was amazing. Shout out to Shay for supporting my sister during her karaoke performance. Ask for Shay she was the best
The service was bad. There were flies everywhere. The restaurant looked dirty and the furniture is ripping. $20 per person for mimosa that they pre mix for you that you can barley taste the champagne. I would not recommend at all.
Had dinner here on my birthday. It wasnt quite what I was expecting for food but the staff were all super friendly and kind, and the hookah was excellent.
I went here to celebrate my birthday with my family. The food, drinks and Hookah was descent, it was over priced though. My waitress was nice and very attentive. The music was extremely loud and the music selection was limited. The gentleman that was stationed at the restroom to assist customers was kind and funny, but the bathroom floor was disgusting. I definitely wouldnt go back.
