Had a blast here!!! Met some new friends and it got busy real quick.Will try to come back next year when Im in town.

You could very easily have a terrible night here… that is possible…. Although, everything is possible… I walked up and had my bag checked (totally appropriate). Met the bartenders (4 on for a slow night)… it was karaoke and took a moment to get the speakers going (totally happens)… Front patio leads to the main spaces… you have a smoking area sectioned off in the front… back patio and a pool table…. Two restrooms with someone monitoring it (no powder room honey bee)….. this place is AMAZING…. Clientele ranges from local to Sexy to SEXY!! You can feel yourself without feeling on someone else.. Class without sass type of vibe… honestly I had the best experience out of every other bar within the inner city.. across the street from the best food scene in the city…………. As an outsider looking in… leave the ego at the door and enjoy the local vibe… Not a good place for They/Them (not capable to handle your vibe) not a good place for Midtown Millionaires (just why show up)…. It’s a small space with quality people…. Do yourself a favor and let yourself go….. everyone was MEGA friendly….. Although…… Although….. I’m a little biased… lots of sexy men making it work….. had the best time out of every local in the city….. hands down A+…… Will be returning and happy to be a part of the vibe

Friends is a good time but I had to leave this review for Brandon & Brandon ONLY! Hes so dope! I came in both Friday night & last night and each time he helped me so much! He was monitoring bathroom lines and when I was about to go in last night the floors were wet and the toilet hadnt been flushed. He saw my face and offered to handle all that before I went. SUCH A GENTLEMAN !!! like seriously, I appreciated it so much I promised to leave him a review. So thank you so much Brandon!!! Your kindness is unmatched.

Great place to listen to music, dance and grab drinks. It was free to get in, which was good.The DJ on a Saturday night had good taste.Terrible seating options so you will probably have to stand most of the time you are here.The bathrooms are not clean, there was pee on the floors around the toilet, and the line for the restroom is a long wait.The bartenders ignore you, so you have to literally get their attention - but the drinks are strong.. so hey, take that how you see fit lol.

All of the women that came and went were saying it was a waste of time and unsafe energy. Me and my female friend lasted less than ten minutes. A lot of men here with the energy of hate and disrespect towards women. We felt very unsafe and after a male customer twice my size yelled at me and my friend for trying to walk behind him, we left and I asked the bouncer for our money back and he refused. This is a very unsafe environment for women and if you are a woman I highly recommend you patron another bar. I really hope no woman gets harmed here.

It’s always a GREAT time here. Parking is right if you get there after 930/10 any night! The drinks will drink you! Lol. If you don’t like being around a lot of people/it being packed then don’t show up after 1030/11 any night. Oohhhhh but if you like friendly funny staff and a great time then go here! Smile, dance, drink, play pool, repeat!!

Friends on Ponce is a great place to experience a wonderful night in Midtown. Go alone you will be entertained. Go with people you like, you will have an exceptional time. Go with friends and you make a couple of new ones before you leave. Drinks are stiff, bartenders are fast, music is dictated by the crowd. Play pool and video games, play the people youre around. However if you play with Friends on Ponce, youll be playing together regularly! One of the most diverse bars I choose to frequently patronize because of the Wonderful times Ive had every time I go. Mid day snacks are complimentary on certain days and Plenty of Fun on many different levels are awaiting you to enjoy! Dont forget poker nights on certain evenings as well. The LGBT community are the primary guests here but dont fret, breeders have an abundant amount of great times here as well.

Another awesome Tuesday night spot. The bartenders are everything and the Karaoke people. Boy, stop the buses and get off. They do it big and the talent in that place.

Originally wanted to go to mjq for an after hours spot on a wednesday but there were so many college kids waiting, we decided to go to friends. because we had just left another party, my friend and i decided to go to the bathroom together. mind you, no one was in line. another friend knocks on the door to come in so we let them. we literally did the same at the first event we were at. it saves time. no big deal. less than five minutes, security comes banging on the door saying we have 15 seconds to get out or - i’m assuming he’s gonna bust the door in. me, finished, complies and leaves the bathroom. one of my friends is still peeing. he tells me i need to leave. i tell him i need to tell my other 6/7 friends but he wouldn’t let me. he’s using his body, shielding me from leaving the restroom/front door area. he was super aggressive, while i was being level headed and speaking in a normal tone.after we got out, he pointed to the door that there’s “one person at a time” on the door. there’s also a million other things on the door. during a night out of drinking, your first inclination is to go to an empty bathroom - not stop to read what’s on the door. i understand rules but that entire interaction was blown out of proportion and really embarrassing. we were using the restroom. and as femme people, that’s a common thing at clubs - for a multitude of reasons.we weren’t even there enough time to sit down before being aggressively removed from the establishment.anyways, just don’t go into the bathroom with anyone else and maybe you’ll have a decent night.

It’s sad that every time I visit it mad love. But today I came and waited for hour in line and never got in! They allow people to bust in front multiple time and never got in is ridiculous! Security never checked the person or address the ones that busy with 5 plus people. They need a better system and new security guard management!

I am a career bartender and I will say I am honest when it comes to critics of other bartenders, I sat down and waited 27 minutes to be served. Both bartenders made direct eye contact and repeatedly served other guests who were walking up to the bar rather than even saying “hello” I actually will say this was the worst service I’ve ever had on the other side of the bar ever. I still tipped my %20 percent as that’s the bare minimum but I would never ever step inside this establishment again because of the service and the service alone. It’s also a dive bar and I imagine because I had to wave and say excuse me to the bartender (after 27 minutes!!!!!! I timed it on my phone) I was charged 45 dollars for two drinks while my friend who walked in with me and sat down next to me and talked to me for 27minutes!!!!! He Was greeted with “I see you were here first but since he is waving and trying to get my attention I’ll take care of him first.” Talking about me to the friend that I brought to the bar!so tacky so hateful so rude. - honestly I could imagine if this bar had professional bartenders. It would make a killing. Matter of fact - reach out I’m googlable.

Friday nights are the nights I go. Idk about other nights but this bar is very cool. It seems to be more urban on Fridays. The music is nice. They have outside seating and a bar out there. They could have more bartenders and another restroom because both lines moves very slow. Oh yeah, they charge $5.00 USD to get in.

We always have a pretty good time at Friends.It was crowded and lively on a Friday night.The drinks are almost too strong, but that it to be expected. The inside back patio is the best place to be at this establishment. Parking can be a hassle at times but street parking is plentiful.

Very happening place. Lots of people. The cover charge on Saturday was 5 dollars. Was my birthday, so they let me in for free plus my hubby since he is a retired vet. Wouldnt mind coming back. Drinks were good too.

Gay bar with pool tables, what more could you ask for? The place was packed, we met some great people, the music was on point Drinks are pricey but maybe thats typical for the area. $10 cover on Sat night.

We were in Atlanta for an Atlanta Dream game and decided to check The Ponce area out. We played pool, slots, pinball and video games. All the locals there were very welcoming and the drinks and service was greaT!

Excellent bar! It is NOT a club; but, is for sure a great place to pre-game for the club or to attend, to cap the night off after a party. It has 2 pool tables [wish they had more] great bartenders and you can play music through the jukebox- from your phone. They have an overflow type area- which would be perfect for the Summer, if it were an open deck. Youll enjoy the vibes overall though!

Unpretentious! Cheapest drinks in town. Good bartenders. Managers are completely engaged in the day-to-day and are always interacting with customers. Have really cracked down on the B.S., as evidenced by the consistent enforcement of their No Tolerance Policy. No fighting. No smoking inside or on patio. No oversized bags. The loyalty of their regulars is commendable. They are like having a full built-in security force who fully support the No Tolerance Policy. Everyone knows everyone else. If they dont you, they will make a point of knowing you...then pull you into the fold that has made Friends the most appropriately named bar in Atlanta.

Great neighborhood bar to unwind after a long day of work. Staff is friendly to all patrons. Especially appreciate the onsite security guard who keeps the peace inside/outside the bar. His presence is truly under appreciated.

Always friendly staff and a nice hang out. Drinks are on point too. Im glad they no longer allow smoking inside, that made a huge difference on being able to enjoy yourself more.

Honestly, it was really fun. The embience was a little more than I like, that was on me and my preference. For what it was designed to be it hit the mark. Definitely check it out. Im more low key sit down and toast glasses type. Plastic cups are not my forte. But once again that is a preference thing, nothing against the bar. I came from Macon, a hour and half drive to meet someone I didnt know and this was the perfect spot for a blind date that went really well.

The main thing thats great about this place are the staff and the drinks!! Both combined keeps my interest however WARNING ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK.... its safe on Tuesday and maybe Wednesday.. but any other day.. be afraid for your life IS LIKE A REALITY MMA TV SHOW #FIGHTSGALLORE and nobody is checked at the door!!!!

This was a very interesting establishment. Ventilation is subpar, leaving your entire person heavily engulfed with cigarette smoke, and bar funk upon exiting. There was an underwhelming staff presence, making getting drinks a chore not worth the effort. We ran for the door after one cocktail.

The atmosphere was extremely nice, the bartender very attentive and courteous. That type of engaging was why I moved to O4W so I could walk through my neighborhood and appreciate the little things.

Pay attention to your receipts when coming here! Theyll try to charge you for extra drinks that you did not order to compensate for a tip. How do I know this? Cause when I closed my tab, I noticed I was charged for an extra drink. After bringing it to the bartenders attention and them issuing a refund, I was asked So, are you going to tip?. Fair to say I wont be going back anymore.

Sometimes when Im out in the city by myself at night its fun to pop in here and see if anyone I know is around. The drinks are FIRE!!! Dont order a mixed drink if you want it to taste pretty. They always serve pure octane!!! LOL

Parking is horrible and the place is hard to find. I called the staff twice to figure out where to park and where the actual bar even was, they were rude both times. I never made it inside, just left. Apparently the bulding with the name on it is not the building at all 🤔. Heaven forbid it be raining and dark like it was for me last night, the staff will label you incompetent. I wouldnt spend a dime there ever. Patronize at your own risk.

Great place to get drinks and catch up with friends. Its usually pretty busy, especially on weekends. However, the service is fairly speedy and always a good time.

The whole bar smells like dirty mildewed urinal cakes for some reason. We had to leave after 1 drink bc of the smell. Otherwise, we would have stayed.

I always love Friends on Ponce. The drinks are well made and the place is casual and friendly. The juke box is fun to mess with and pool is a great way to share some drinks with friends. I like to come on Thursday which is poker night. It can get a little crowded on these nights but I enjoy it all the same. This car has been an ATL establishment for years and still lives up to its name.

Nice place to enjoy cocktails and conversation, theres better bars in Atlanta but when we want a change of scenery Friends on Ponce provides a lovely evening. The bartenders arent shy, and the drinks are a decent value. Only problem is youll walk out smelling like an Ashtray.

I went here once and was turned off by all of the cigarette smoke. I came back after the smoking ordinance and it’s nice to be able to breathe. Overall wouldn’t recommend going in before 10/11pm. You get a lot of really odd bar flies in there...not sure if regulars or what but overall they were making a lot of people uncomfortable. Within 5 minutes of being there a lady claiming and looking to be from Louisiana bothered us for a good 10 minutes about the “history” of Mardi Gras. Continued to bother and cuss at us because “we didn’t know who Denzel Washington was” (?????). Shortly after, the bartender kept serving another lady who was clearly drunk out of her mind. She was so drunk at the bar that she fell into some other bars stools and then to the floor immediately after standing up....One guy who claimed to work there and also was clearly drunk said he would drive her home. The same guy later asked us if we wanted a quick “pick me up”. A little bit after that the Louisiana/Denzel Washington lady was seen snorting something with another lady in one of the corner booths. Won’t return.

Good watering hole. Good drinks and pool environment. Smoking inside is still permitted. Thats the bad part. You dont notice it till you leave. Itll be all in your clothes.

Just a good place to get a casual drink. The once a month drag talent show is always good. Hands down my favorite drag talent show in Atlanta, the longest running also.

So I enjoy this bar honestly but when the staff starts to add 20 dollar tips to our credit cards without consent then we have an issue good thing my credit card company contacted me to make me aware this is the second time this has happened, its just sad.

I tried to recover my wallet from the bar as I was leaving with friends, but the owner was not listening to us.He even refused to hear us out and kept yelling We are locking the door and we can not care.Just a rude owner in a friendly establishment.

I came in from Shreveport, La to take care of things from the passing of my brother Mickey Pouncy -Jones who was killed in a car accident while riding with a Lyft driver in Atlanta at corner of Johnson and Perrry. Friends on Pounce is his favorite spot so my sisters and i decided to go and we had a blast. Totally enjoyed the atmosphere. We also met new friends.

I absolutely love this spot it was my first time visiting the staff was wonderful and the patrons very friendly. I will definitely recommend this place to all my friends

Cigarette smoke is the only issue I have. People should be made to smoke outside. Need more space on patio instead of the plants all over the place. Defeats the purpose

I traveled from Columbus Ohio to Atl I wanted to go to a relaxing bar and shoot pool. The barmaid told my girlfriend in order to stay in the bar we had to purchase a drink. Wtf...I guess only in ATL. So we left looking for a place no luck. Goodbye Stl. Maybe better luck for us on the next visit.

This place can be daunting if you come alone and dont know anyone. But overall, drinks are well priced and its a chill environment.
