I personally wouldnt want to stay here all night, but it is a nice rooftop spot to add to your night of bar/club hopping. The drinks are basic and decent. They have a free water dispenser with disposable cups available to all. We just hungout on the rooftop for some time before heading out to our next stop, and this was our first one, so it wasnt too bad!

Service is horrendous here. One minute they were taking our orders hospitably and the next throwing out stereotypes at us, grabbing drinks out of hands and causing a mess. You wouldnt think it could happen in this part of Austin but theres hate under the liberal facade at this bar.
They charged us a cover to get in and then wouldnt serve us. They insisted that they had told us the bar was closed but none of us (5 people) has been told this, so we were charged to come in but couldn’t buy drinks. Feels like a scam.

Its fun sometimes, DJs play similar music with the same beats most of the time. Terrible cocktails and overpriced, so Ive stopped ordering them. Be aware of the bartenders for dishonest charge!! I paid $12 for 2 cans of beer with my credit card, later on I bought one can of beer with cash in my hand, I asked the bartender how much it was and he said $7. Thats clearly hes scamming the companys money and also taking advantage of paying customers.
Came for the drag brunch and had a great time! Performers had amazing energy and put on such a fun show. The champagne bucket is also a great deal and the way to go for brunch

It was terrible and looked like grape juice. She asked to remake it and they added sprite to it….. had to buy a shot. Speaking of shots they’re terrible.
One of my favorite clubs in the city. Prices are great and keep me coming back. There are various floors all with different vibes. Parking does suck downtown but the club is open late sometimes past 2am.
I used to love this bar, now I just like it. The music is pretty good as far as bars downtown go, and the rooftop is awesome, but the crowd has changed to a newbie Californian feel and it’s not my favorite. This used to be an extremely queer friendly bar, and now many queer people I know avoid it. That says something.

Coconut Club is by far one of my favorite clubs in Austin. Even when the cover is higher (max Ive paid was $20) its been well worth it.They have multiple separate upstairs and downstairs dance areas. Each night they all have different vibes. Sometimes the main upstairs area can get a little busy but its easy enough to move to another dance area and adjust your experience.They also have multiple chill/hang out spots where you can take a seat and relax as needed.They always bring in all kinds of DJ talent and going here has literally saved me from a less than enjoyable night multiple times.Also a really great and unique view of part of the city from the main roof. Just go see it for yourself, for real.
They’ve got amazing staff, talented DJ’s, great drag shows/events, and some of the greatest bartenders! I highly recommend stopping by if you’d like to have a good time and dance the night away! 5/5 stars from me!
Scheduling was super easy through Facebook and customer service was great from beginning until the end. Trevor did a great job in explaining everything and getting the work done. Took plenty of the dog urine smell out of the two areas I pointed out. Would highly recommend.

Music could have been a bit louder, cool decor and good energy. Drinks were standard fair. The rooftop closes at 2am but the downstairs dance floor is open until 3:30am so the party keeps going. The line to get in was pretty long, took about 15-20 minutes on a Saturday. Cover was $10. Overall recommend checking it out.

I went to Coconut Club for an event. I read a sign that a 20% gratitude was added so when I got my receipt back for my drink I assumed the tip was already included. When I didn’t include a tip the bartender demanded and threatened me a little to add one, “otherwise I would not be getting served ever again”. I waited 30 minutes for my drink too. I thought the tone in his voice was very unnecessary and rude. I was in shock by his words and I apologized to him and tried to explain that I didn’t know. He continued to scream at me to tip in a very rude tone to the point where I thought about it for the rest of the night. I did end up tipping but at that point he probably didn’t deserve it.Overall, the place was pretty cool and they had better music playing that most other bars. And the bouncers were nice!

The drag show was amazing! The food was delicious! My reason for a 3 or 3.5 really is because of 1. the bathrooms and 2. the wet floors. The bathrooms- one had a door, two was doorless and three had a door that was falling off the hinges and wouldn’t close. The wet floors were dangerous for the dancers. I mean come on y’all had plenty of time to dry the floors before the dancers came on. Hell I was afraid I was going to fall and I was in tennis shoes and not stilettos! My first words were someone’s going to fall and sure enough a dancer did fall. Come on Coconuts do better! These dancers are making y’all plenty of money! Rugs or hire someone just for handling the wet floors.
Super disappointing experience! Let me preface this by saying that I am a server and bartender, so I know how to act when I go out places.I reserved a booth last minute for NYE 2023. Everything started out great- Leslie was my point of contact and she was really hyping up the spot since we had never been. We arrived and the bottles were already at the booth with 3 buckets of melted ice. I really was expecting the typical bottle service where they make you feel extra special by bringing the bottles with sparklers and all that jazz- especially on NYE!After combining all three buckets of melted ice- I walked up to the bar (where Leslie said I should go for anything) and asked for fresh ice. Waited 10 minutes. Nothing. A busboy came through our booth and we also asked him for fresh ice. Waited another 10 minutes. Nothing. I finally texted Leslie and we FINALLY got fresh ice. Then I noticed that the busboy took my TWO drinks! I was drinking whiskey neat and finishing my champagne toast. WHY WOULD HE TAKE BOTH OF MY VERY OBVIOUSLY FULL GLASSES??The booth next to us had about 3X the people we did and they started pouring into our booth- the chains separating the booths kept coming undone because they werent good quality.Around 1:45 a couple of us decided to go explore the other djs and when we tried to come back upstairs to our booth- we literally got yelled at- like YELLED at. We were so confused because no one let us know that upstairs would be closing- like zero information at all. We didnt know where the rest of our group was since we had left them at our booth. Im asking the girl at the door what happened to everyone upstairs and she responded extremely rudely, I dont know, those are yo friends she had such attitude, unwilling to help, and was laughing because of how concerned I was for my friends.I finally found my friends outside and apparently right at 2 am the bouncers and the blonde girl with the striped bangs & neon green outfit came over aggressively yelling at my friends to leave the booth and go downstairs because upstairs was now closed. ZERO WARNING, no type of announcement. Nothing. Aggressive. Aggressive. Aggressive. To the point where the bouncers wife later apologized to my group for how aggressive the bouncer (her husband) was, sorry, hes used to working the ghetto clubs. Not only that, but my friends were never told they could continue to the other dance floors downstairs - they literally got walked to the outside.We were having so much fun despite the initial letdowns, and the ending completely ruined the entire experience for us. Like COMPLETELY ruined the experience for us. Especially since booth rentals arent cheap, definitely not cheap on NYE. This is where we all decided to spend our hard earned money. Money we could have taken anywhere. Austin has a lot of really fun and unique bars, not sure Id ever have to come back to this one.If I was the owner of this business I would be extremely embarrassed and disappointed in my staff. Im sure this is the exact opposite of how theyd want their patrons to feel. Such a let down.
It was ok. The music was good however, it started raining and we all had to run. It seems unsafe in conditions like that. Plus the stairs when raining dont seem like a great idea when drinking.
Dope bar with a rooftop. Bar tinder and bar back were super friendly. Great spot to meet and vibe with some locals. Drinks are not over priced. I caught some underground house and techno while I was there. Not sure whats played on other nights.... Still a dope friendly bar
I love this venue! Its outside so it can be a little cold sometimes but I layer up now that I know its super cute has a nice bar with a little private booth lounge area set up then a really nice setup for djs this place is awesome they also do alot of free events. We love it here and enjoy it every time always good vibes!
Definitely go to the Saturday Drag Brunch! Best spot in Downtown Austin for sure! The environment is so welcoming, inclusive, and positive!! Its just a great place to hang out and the bar tenders are super nice!
First time going to a club since the pandemic started. It was a Sunday night. Its nice that it is on a roof! My drink was weak. I asked my friend if the speakers were shot or the music was horrible. She said it was the music. It would have been nice to dance. I heard good things so Ill give it another shot someday.Most people were wearing a mask when not seated but a few werent and I didnt see any enforcement.There are symbols painted on the walls and floors. I welcome theories about what they mean :)I was told there would be a lot of college kids there. Im glad that wasnt the case. I think it was an off night. Ill update my review when I go again but it might be a while before I get brave enough to go to another club.
The guy working the front door was aggressive as hell. He kept claiming my ID was fake for no reason at all. I’m in my 30s and some short guy working the front door trying to take my ID for no reason at all was the reason I turned right around and left. He needs to get off his high horse and get a life. Will never be back.
The space is nice and big thats about it. Every bar Ive ever been in or worked at they will say last call. That gives people a chance to close out, finish up or get one last drink. I had arrived late and only had one drink and when I went to order the second one at had just turned 2am. I was literally standing at the bar and the bar tender didnt say a word. Unfortunately I couldnt enjoy a second beverage. Less than 5 minutes later a random staff member came up screaming at the top of her lungs bar is closed get out now, she proceeded to spray patrons and customers with cleaning product or water. She was spraying at our shoes, legs and ground. Ive worked 8 years in a music venue having to close out a room of 300 to 800 drunk people wanting to stay to see the artist. Never would that type of behavior be acceptable or professional to get anyone to leave.
Coconut club has a very different vibe from all the other bars in town. Think of it like Upstairs at Caroline meets Barbarella. Surrounded by all the tall buildings, it looks very pretty at night.We had a fun time here, the DJ was playing some good tracks, and the people on the dance floor really seemed to enjoy themselves! Nothing too special with the drinks, just like any other bar in downtown.

Worst lemon drop Ive ever had in my entire life it was literally disgusting my friend said the exact same thing I definitely dont ever want to order a drink there again. At exactly 2:00 the bar back started physically pushing me and other people towards the staircase and we were almost pushed down stairs literally the worst experience Ive ever had. There was absolutely no reason for that there were a lot of people there. people were trying to safely exit down the staircase there was no reason to start screaming and pushing people absolutely uncalled for nobody should go there its not a safe place to hang out
A solidly mediocre club. Better than the neighboring spots, but in desperate need of some renovations. The speakers are rough and the music unpredictable, lazy. Austin needs a refresh in the nightlife department.
Fun vibe! Started pouring when we were there and we all had to go right at 2 am lol. But good dancing, uni-bathroom with plenty toliet paper and soap, lots of seating and dance area. Very enjoyable.
This club has become quite popular as a late night spot starting in early 2020 and still going strong as one of our top few dance clubs. I would also recommend Barbarella but cocoa club has the rooftop patio - sweeeeet! They stop serving alcoholic drinks at 2, but stay open till 4, and allow folks to enter (with a cover, around $5-10) even between 2 and 4. Though sometimes only the inside, not the rooftop patio is open after hours.
What gem of a joint. Great drinks, super friendly staff, and killer dance atmosphere. These kinda bars are not normally my scene but I had a blast. Get here before its gone.

I had the most amazing time here. @housofthug was our dj and she was outstanding!!! I am the goofy bearded guy in the middle of the picture. I should have taken more pictures of those gorgeous ladies performing but I was busy watching them dance and sing. At one point our dj Lavenderthug had technical issue with her laptop. So the ladies took turns freestyle rapping AND IT WAS GLORIOUS!!! I dont normally dance, I am a shy 48 year old dude. But here I was able to let go, and just be myself. She made me happy to shake my butt. If you are in downtown Austin you have to get here and experience it first hand.

Coconut Club is a rarity for their ability to currently offer live music and offering an environment that makes any patron feel welcome. However, the bouncer was far from friendly the night I was there and demanded a cover charge without informing our group that the venue was closing within the hour. The bathrooms were also not clean, which wasnt surprising at a night club but still worth mentioning.
Drinks good and its pretty but music is absolutely mid like get new djs and change it up the same music was played for hours even with alcohol it was not a vibe
Horrible. We stood at the bar for over 20 mins with NO LINE to get a drink. Both bartenders Saturday May 29th around 4:30pm ignored us so we decided to leave. They never made eye contact. We tried getting their attention and were completely ignored. They were too busy having a conversation the entire time. We wont be back.
Was hanging mostly by the upstairs bar, told by rude staff employee to move around the bar more, said that I couldn’t stay in one spot. The employees there suck and have horrible attitudes

Those are the kinds of people youll find here. Its a house/tech/dance club(all 3 at the same time), they also hold crazy shows in the lobby. Also must mention the Lazer pit 🐰🤘.

One bartender was very rude and argued with me, I left the place after that. The bartender complained about the way I was tipping and put the whole salary problem under my responsibility. All of this in a very aggressive tone. This whole thing kind of ruined the night unfortunately.

Changed my mind about this place when I realized how much is going on. You can wander between neon grotto and find your vibe. An alternative to barbs when you want to dance.
The overall club experience was good. I had a billing issue, but after contacting the manager, I was refunded in a timely manner.
