I really enjoyed the intro salsa class I attended. The instructors were helpful and patient and made a point to say that anyone could lead or follow without judgment. Although it gets loud with all the class levels in the same room, it’s cool to see what more advanced dancers are doing :)
I recently had the privilege to attend an Zouk beginner’s class. I’d never taken a dance lesson prior to Inspired Movement and to be honest, I was quite intimidated.Allison (an instructor) was patient and articulate in her instruction which allowed time for me to catch up and not lose much confidence. The environment is great as well as the fellow dancers. Highly recommend!!!
BEST DANCE SCENE IN TEXAS!!!Best dance teachers in Texas!!Best dance environment anywhere! After COVID I was in a dark place and I found IM and all I can say... IM saved my life and brought joy back to my soul! The smiles, the music, the teaching and friendships and dancing made me whole again! In the last 6 months of dedication, my confidence, friendships and dance skills have all bloomed to outstanding levels. Fabian and his IM Team are exceptional, professional and super invested and passionate about this community. Theyve dedicated their lives towards teaching you to become your absolute best version of a dancer! They even have dance teams if you want more. Its fun, its safe, its challenging and its for everyone from beginners like me with 2 left feet to those who aspire to compete or teach one day. Every single instructor has been a joy to learn from. I love them all. They have two massive studios that are great for teaching and the social afterward is certainly a cherry on top! You gotta be there! Youll never regret it.Oh, and they didnt pay me for this review... I just gotta share this amazing news!Youve missed out on enough dance nights so after reading this go take a free class!Keep Dancing,Orlando
Great experience from signing up to taking the class! The instructor Allison was very patient and helpful. If you are interested in learning Zouk or any form of Salsa this is the best studio in Austin!
Amazing place to learn salsa! Had my first class last night and it was great. Plenty of room and multiple levels which makes it feel personalized and motivates you to keep going and level up! Instructors are friendly and knowledgeable. I definitely recommend!
Class was super fun! My instructor Patty was super knowledgeable and I had a great time!Highly recommended for any level.
I LOVED my first class at IM! The kind instructors will dance with you if you have prior experience and place you in the class they believe will be best fit for you. You then get a full hour of class with specified feedback and constantly switch partners— would definitely recommend to all levels! I loved it! :)
I visited Inspired Movement for beginner salsa and bachata lessons and the social. I love that each level is clearly divided but still visible so you can see what you’re working towards. The instructors broke everything down really well and I had a blast learning the combos. Also loved the emphasis on consent since these dances can be very sensual. The social was also amazing. So incredible to see all levels of dancer on the floor. I’m definitely returning to purchase lessons and attend the socials regularly!
Took first salsa class this Tuesday — free. Instructor did such a job in educating beginners the basic footsteps and turns; there was a re-cap session when students got to videotape everything learned after class ended. The vibe was also fun and vigorous — aside from beginners (white belt), there were other five belts — all playing out simultaneously in one large studio.
Last week was my first time attending a bachata class at Inspired Movement, and I had a great time! Everyone from staff to participants were nice and welcoming. Will definitely be back again soon.
Went to Inspired Movement for my first dance class EVER. Learned the basics of Brazilian Zouk. For a newbie…the environment was extremely inviting and so much fun! The instructors were kind and patient…highly recommend staying for the social after to practice some of the steps learned. Danced with some of the instructors who were also extremely helpful. I’ll be back next week. Highly recommend! Check em out as a pair, or solo! Cheers 🕺
I felt so welcomed and guided as a newbie into the Inspired Movement Community. The beginner classes were taught very clearly and made it easy to pick up the dance. I’m excited to keep coming back and integrate into the dance community.
After taking a few free classes around town I was interested in improving my salsa dancing so I tried Inspired Movements Tuesday night class and it was great! There are several skill tiers so theres lessons for everyone. The energy of the space was great, class was fun, I learned a lot and Im going to keep going back weekly!
Loved it! The class was very beginner friendly and centered. The instructor was great. I felt comfortable and welcomed not by the staff only but by other students and social participants. I look forward to taking more bachata classes here.
Wow, what a fun environment! My first Zouk class here was fire. The instructors were so kind and supportive and I will DEFINITELY be going back.
The semi-private series for Ladies Bachata Styling with Lily are a fantastic way to either ease yourself into sensual bachata if you have no experience with this style or sharpen your already awesome skills and want to elevate your style. The sessions are very well structured and organized in a way that is easy to follow. The best part is the Lily is a fantastic instructor, very clear, fun, and cares very much for her students. If you are on the fence, all I can say is that I am very glad I went and you will too!
I took a first Salsa & Bachata class at IM last tuesday and attended their soical event and I had a blast. As someone who gets panick attacks in the name of dancing, i have to say I had a blast. the instructures are so kind and motivating and the members were very encouraging too. No judgement and i felts so safe, Definitely going back next tuesday
Inspired movement has such an infectious atmosphere. I love going there to dance and appreciate all the levels they have available. Instructors are very encouraging and the socials are not only great for practice but so much fun!
Inspired Movement has managed to turn a fun, creative activity like dance into something stressful. They have a belt system where you have to test out to learn new content. And the tests are needlessly filled with jargon. It’s not sufficient to be a good dancer, you must also know all the relevant terminology for every single hand position and movement. I think this their way of making you do private lessons. One instructor even told me I wouldn’t make it to the next level without a private. They are so serious about their belt levels, that they will inquire about who tested you out in the middle of a class if you so much as make one mistake. And sometimes they will even demote you down even if you’ve tested out.The lower level classes are also very lead heavy. So that means, as a lead, you get less practice making you stuck in white belt forever without private lessons. The studio itself is quite claustrophobic and multiple belt level classes run in parallel in the same room. As a result, it’s incredibly loud and the instructors are always shouting. Also, the classes always start 15-20 minutes late which is annoying because their classes are on weeknights so that means you can forget about making it to bed on time. Lastly, I hate how they make you use an app to check-in-I don’t want to have to use my iPhone for dancing.I think IM might be for you if you want to make dancing a Type A activity and not just a hobby. But if this is just an after-work hobby for you, I’d recommend going to the classes at the Halcyon in Mueller instead.
This is such a great studio- the teachers are great and I really enjoy the structure they have around progressing with specific dancing styles. Having grown up in martial arts the idea of going from white belt to yellow, etc is fun and engaging. They bring in a lot of wonderful people into their studio and socials
Young crowd with a friendly and fun vibe. Might not recommend this for complete beginners to dance as all levels take classes in the same big room, so it could be overwhelming since its loud and a lot going. But if you have at least a little dance experience this seems to be the place to progressively learn latin dancing in a welcoming space in South Austin.
Went with a group of some friends and we had a lot of fun! Alison was a great instructor — she was patient, kind and knowledgeable. Excited to go back 💃
I loved my first class! Its was fun learning, the teachers are nice and theres plenty of practice during the lesson. Would recommend!
Austin Inspired Movement was an amazing experience! I took a Bachata & Zouk class. The instructors did a wonderful job at breaking down the movements so that everyone could easily follow along. This felt like a very safe space for anyone and everyone to learn to dance. I will definitely be back!
Had a great time so far at IM, the teachers are diverse enough to welcome people of all levels and there’s a lot of nice people
I moved to Austin recently and Ive been looking for a new place to work on new skills for dancing. Went to try out two other places and this place had the best adjustable levels of practicing salsa or bachata system that I found very enjoyable. I only took on class, and adding the class with my previous experience helped me reassure what Ive learned in the past works but I became more confident in my skill. Instructors I worked with that day helped me fix the smaller issues Ive had with previous skills.Im a dancer.
Light, fun atmosphere with knowledgable instructors who really enjoy teaching. As a first timer, I thought I would be intimidated but theres zero grade school/high school/PE energy. The social dancing after every class is a nice feature too to build friendships.
Really loved my intro salsa and bachata class, great foundational knowledge and very fun.
This was the exact dance class my fiancée and I were looking to take: from day 1 we were learning and having fun with salsa and the environment makes it easy to match your level with the right group. Going to try bachata next! Highly recommend!
This was such a way to learn salsa and bachata in a safe and social environment. The teachers split the group into levels so you could feel comfortable in the group that suited your skillset. I ended up staying for two classes because it was so much fun!
This is the best salsa and bachata school I have seen so far - great teachers, they will assign you to a group of your level, lots of good tips and techniques just in one class! Thanks a lot guys!
If you are planning to learn salsa and you want to make sure you are progressing every time, then this is definitely your place. I am impressed by how well structured their curriculum is. Staff was also very friendly and helpful
First class is free! If you’ve never done social dance before or if you’re uncertain about attending a class by yourself, you will feel awkward for maybe 5 minutes before having a fantastic time. I love Hannah, who teaches Day 1 bachata on Tuesdays. You’ll constantly rotate to dance with the other leads or follows in your class, so it’s a low pressure way to quickly learn and practice. After my first class I knew I wanted to make this a weekly routine.
Amazing Latin dance community in Austin — they provide quality lessons and are also building community. It’s my new favorite place!
Great place to learn to dance, the instructors are amazing. Plenty of other first time learners as well.
1st time learning how to dance salsa, and the instructors were amazing! Will return!
Inspired Movement is a great place to learn different styles of dance. I went earlier this week and the staff was very welcoming and patient as they taught students the moves. I will definitely come here again and weekly once I move to Austin.
9 months and counting of amazing experience dancing, learning, having fun, meeting new people, making new connections, healing and feeling extremely happy at IM! Highly recommend this studio, not just for the quality of teaching and instructors but also for the amazing community they foster. Their belt system for classes allows people from all experience levels to take classes at the same time in different circles and progress through time which helps keep me challenged and engaged. I love this place!
Love their classes. Their instructors are super professional and thorough. The classes felt a bit more serious (in a good way) which is why I like coming here. I feel like I learn more at this studio.
Last night was my first time back at AIM in a few years. I was rusty and was placed in the Orange Belt/intermediate group for bachata. I recommend this place for dancers of all levels. Its the best all-around dance studio in Austin in my experience.Marcus was my instructor for the class and hes fantastic; solid explanations, good bedside manners, super receptive to questions and very supportive. My only suggestion would be to demonstrate the complete pattern youll be teaching at the beginning of the class. This way everyone knows what to expect and what theyll be working towards. This is common practice in other areas of education, and dance instruction is no different.Id also like to echo what another reviewer commented on, and thats the lead-follow disparity. In my group we were short by four or five follows. This appears to only be an issue for beginner and intermediate levels, but it could be addressed by either capping the number of leads OR actually paying experienced follows to come out and help. I understand that at the end of the day yall are running a business and either of these options will cut into your profits, but it would make for a much more rewarding and less frustrating experience for leads and would probably pay off in the long run. Its discouraging to ghost lead and not particularly helpful; I can do that on my own for free.Be aware that this studio leans very heavily toward sensual/urban bachata, or whatever you want to call it. If youre into this, great. This is the place for you. Its disappointing for me because I enjoy traditional bachata as much as sensual (Im from the Northeast where traditional bachata is still a thing), and I believe the overwhelming focus on sensual bachata doesnt do justice to the history of the dance itself. It also puts dancers at a disadvantage if they find themselves out at a Latin club or party. There are more people out there who know how to dance traditional than sensual. Sensuals all the rage right now, though. So I guess this focus is to be expected. Finally, please PLEASE get a better DJ for the Tuesday night socials. The song selections for both bachata and salsa were subpar and the transitions were awkward.
IM is a true dance school and a social dance community for salsa, bachata, zouk, and kizomba. People come here who are serious about dance and have fun with it. Large classes always split into skill levels giving attention to basics for the beginners. Keep coming weekly and you have a new social hobby or passion.
Such a fun place. Wasnt sure what to expect at my first dance class, but Morgan did a great job of keeping it fun and engaging while moving at the pace of the class. Also love how they made sure the newbies had a good experience at the first social. Can tell they care about the community and love to share the joy of movement with others
Highly recommend taking the Bachata Ladies Styling semi-private series with Lily. As opposed to other styling classes I’ve taken before, the beauty of this series is she’s not just teaching choreography that you’ll forget in a week; instead, she focuses on breaking down styling technique in a way that’s easy to learn and apply, so that the fundamentals will stay with you for a long time. Really enjoyed the opportunity to learn material not usually covered during typical bachata classes. Plus, Lily is a passionate instructor and a captivating dancer, so you’re learning from the best!
I am currently taking private lessons for bachata through inspired movement and loving it! So far my lessons have been with Calder but they have so many great instructors to choose from. If you are interested in taking your dancing to the next level or even just want to perfect a couple moves I would 100% recommend booking a private. It’s been such a great addition to my group lessons and social dancing!
I took ladies styling semi private class series with Liliana. It was truly amazing and an absolute pleasure to attend. The curriculum was very meticulously created and had some many details as well as little tips and tricks that are very helpful in socal dancing. Would recommend working with Lili to anyone who wants to improve on the dance floor as a follow.
I love how they break down the levels of difficulty. Oher studios as if lazily separate into beginner, intermediate, and advanced, which constantly leave people feeling feeling either the instruction was a little too easy or a little beyond their comfort zone. Inspired Movement is much more intentional with white, yellow, orange, and blue belts, which all well describe the level of proficiency they expect. The instruction itself is very well detailed in practical ways too! The instructors explain not only the movements themselves but also the body language to properly cue partners. That way, you can still execute the movements with people completely unfamiliar with them. And, they provide practical instruction to followers, which makes the class actually useful and applicable to both Leaders and followers.I can tell the instructors put a lot of care and attention to their classes and curriculum!
Great studio and highly recommend private lessons. I did a private lesson with Calder and the instruction was top notch. Fun, easy and fluid. Greatly appreciate the level of patience he showed while also making it a fun experience. Absolutely would recommend him and AIM!
The experience was so delightful, electrifying, and fun!!!🙌🏾⚡️🎉 With Favian instructing and Mo & Nicole assisting him, I felt like I was preparing for Dancing With The Stars!!!!🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Very welcoming of beginners, which I most certainly am. Enjoyed the lesson, planning to go back.
From my one month experience as a beginner (white belt)I really like the instructors and format.. specially Marcus who is top notch instructor. The only con that holds me from giving this studio a 5 star is the lack of follows and I know this might not be unique to this studio. If you are a woman this place is your oyster, but if you are a guy beware that in many clases 50%-60% of the time you will not have a follow to practice with. There was one class where there were 8 leads without a follow and I decided to skip the class to just practice at home watching recordings from the prior week. There has to be a way to cap the amount of leads the come in.
I love this place, if you want to learn how to dance this is the spot to go in austin! Every dancer has gone to IM. Great community- recommend 100%
I love this place. There are amazing dancers, and then there are people who love to teach, and Favian Bustos is both! He’s put together a team of instructors who are skilled and friendly. The structured levels and curriculum are really helpful for anyone from a day-one beginner to more experienced dancers who are trying to level up. I tried to learn latin partner dancing in 2013 and i gave up after a few months. I tried again in 2018, and the community at Inspired Movement is a big part of why I was able to stick with it this time. I have been dancing for 5 years now and i hope to dance for the rest of my life. You can do it!
The location is very nice, the young people there are friendly, the cost is very affordable compared to almost every dance studio in Austin. The only problem is that they focus on Bachata more than anything else and salsa events are fun but almost everyone knows everyone. That means that young friends or lovers will dance only with each other and only with those they know. But if youre an outsider who is over the age of 50, then you will be left standing alone most of the time. I will have to bring my own partner the next time I come here.
The dance classes are awesome here, loved the atmosphere!
The Zouk classes here were great!Love that there are so many different level classes and a social dance after!
Great community and had the best time at bachata! Looking forward to testing out of white belt soon.
I’ve been to this studio twice, and both times I’ve left frustrated and disappointed with the experience.I love the dance instructors—they’re competent in their craft. They get 5 stars. But, my god, this studio needs to start putting a cap on the amount of leads that come in. I only do bachata, but no matter the belt levels I’ve been in, I end up paying $17 just to dance with the air in front of me 30-40% of the time because there’s too many leads, not enough follows. If you’re reading this and you’re a follow, by all means, come in: the studio is your oyster—you’ll never run out of leads to partner with, no matter the level (and if you do, it’s probably extremely rare and only a very minor inconvenience). You’ll love it here, I guarantee it.If you’re a lead, forget doing the dance classes unless you have extreme patience. I’m genuinely serious: there are way, way, way too many leads here (this is not a problem unique to this studio, FYI). The only time you’ll feel like things are working out for you is at the social hours, but if you can’t do the social for whatever reason, you’re essentially paying this studio for the almost-certain chance that, for whatever level of dance you’re at, you will not always have a follow to practice with as you rotate. My most recent experience at the white belt level had 5 leads without partners. 5! That’s insane! If you have a dance partner or a significant other that is willing to tag along, bring them to the dance classes just so you don’t experience what I have experienced. Stick with them the whole time. For the owner of the establishment, these are the things that need to change:1) Unless you find a magical solution to the disparity in the number of leads and follows whereby the number of follows at the dance classes significantly (emphasis on significantly) increases in the future, there needs to be a way to cap the amount of leads coming in for the nightly dance classes. Maybe you need to require people to sign up online prior to coming in via some spreadsheet, capping it at a certain number per belt level (and if the cap isn’t reached but there’s a disparity still in the number of leads/follows that signed up, trim the list—for instance, maybe the cap per belt level is 10 leads and 10 follows, but if only 5 leads and 2 follows signed up for a specific belt level, at least 2 leads have to be removed, but I’m just making up numbers here to illustrate). It’s the only solution I can think of that would work. This would also mean no more walk-ins except for the social hours. Make it a permanent policy.2) Please fix your website so that it doesn’t cut off on the iPad. Currently, if I have the sidebar open (the sidebar that shows things like “Bookmarks”, “Reading List”, “History”, etc.), your website doesn’t scale properly to fit the page.3) My personal suggestion: Give 1 free complimentary dance class session for newcomers so they can make their own judgements and to give them a risk-free way to see if they enjoy the environment.Last but not least: remember to bring a jacket or warm clothing. It’s always freezing in there.Should the owner implement something that solves the lead/follow disparity, I will give this place 5 stars, but until then, I cannot recommend this studio for leads without their own reliable dance partners.
The environment is SO welcoming! I’m just starting out and they made me feel comfortable enough to have a blast at my first class. Definitely going back and bringing friends!
Best dance studio in Austin, with different curriculum to challenge you to get in the next level. Very friendly and respectful environment with the best teachers ready to teach us the last dance move, I go a least 3 times a week and I am having a blast there :)
Great spot to learn how to dance and get better at it! They have different tiers of expertise, and after class, you get to show what you learn at their social.
The teachers are upbeat & supportive. I found my rhythm early on and the first class was... Well, first class
This was a lot of fun! It doesnt matter if you come with a partner or not, you are always dancing with someone and learning something new!
Changed my life completely! Best community Ive ever been a part of. Classes and socials are fun, creative and energetic. I come almost all week and I cant get enough and best of all are all the connections and friends I have made here starting with the amazing Favian. 🥰
I was visiting from out of town and wanted to attend a Zouk class/social to learn something new and have a fun time. I am so glad I went to Inspired Movement! The whole staff was super friendly and helpful, the community was loving and welcoming, and I had so much fun dancing with people of all levels.
First time with IM and I loved it!I took the Tuesday SALSA and BACHATA classes.I loved that someone came at the beginning of the class and assessed my level by dancing with me.They are well organized with different levels per class so that anyone can join and learn at their own level/pace.The instruction is so great!I had Gerard for salsa he is fun and upbeat and Nathan for bachata who knew how to make us comfortable with jokes and clear instructions. At the end of each class They take the time to show you what you’ve learned and students can record it too so you can practice at home later! The night I went we had groups of ~10 and equal numbers of leaders/followers. Even with a full room we all had space to practice and rotate between partners and really get a lot of instructions.
My girlfriend and I had a private lesson in bachata a few weeks back and it was an amazing experience. The booking process was very simple and I had communication via email with the coordinator the entire time. Nathan, our instructor, taught us the basics and really advanced our connection while dancing.I am excited to go back for more lessons in the future and also check out the group classes during the week.
The salsa classes are extremely fun and very beginner friendly
My first time there the owner gave us a fundamental lesson in dancing that taught me a lot! Very effective style of teaching that made the students relaxed and open to learning. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Definitely coming back!
This place offeres Latin dance classes, one-on-one lessons, workshops and plenty more. The staff are nice and the instructors are well known for their talent and love of dance! Ive attended classes, workshops and socials there and have all been great! Austin loves their dancing zouk but have great bachateros and salseros too!
Love this place!! Very welcoming and inclusive for all levels. Great if you’re looking to try something new :)
Whether you’re looking to start dancing or you’re already advanced, this is the place to go!Every class has beginner & advanced groups to join - no need to bring a partner, you’ll meet lots of people! The instructors are thorough and care about your advancement.Their socials are the best - very inviting, BYOB, & really great dancers! Salsa, bachata, Zouk, kizomba & more - check them out!
This place is such a gem! Amazing instructors, and such a welcoming environment. They do a great job of hosting fun socials as well as bringing in world class talent to keep all of us inspired by new movement! If you havent tried a class here do yourself a favor and give it a whirl💃
We had such a great experience as beginners! Our instructor was knowledgeable, professional, patient and friendly. We absolutely recommend Inspired Movement to any dance enthusiast.
Inspired Movement is a cost effective, great place to learn Salsa and Bachata in a social setting. I highly recommend it for the different levels it has from beginner to advanced.
I was once referred to check out an inspired movement event and workshop a few years ago. At the time when barely started to get into the dancing scene, I was still a fresh beginner that was proud to finally master the basics of bachata. The lessons were explained into great detail and the environment was extremely friendly. Since my 1st lessons at Inspired Movement, I have learned 4 new dance styles and made new friends from all over the world. I like to believe that Ive found a 2nd family and a home away from home. I highly advise atleast taking one lesson from the instructors.
My husband and I have been dancing salsa for years and we love this place! The people are great, the pricing is reasonable, and they have a very good AC system. We love their heavy emphasis on bachata and kizomba (our favorites) and we will continue to go here for as long as we live in Austin.
Had a great time learning salsa and bachata at inspired movement!! The instructors took their time in teaching and constantly asked if we needed any help with the steps we learned! I would recommend going if y’all are interested in learning! Definitely going back!!!
I started attending Bachata classes with Austin Inspired Movement around March this year. I am glad that this amazing group of talented people exist because they have helped me to grow my dancing skills in a fun and safe environment and also to expand my horizons learning other rhythms.Favian Bustos and the team stay very active providing Bachata, Kizomba and Zouk classes, socials and fun events such as foam parties, boat parties and more. I am hooked to the dancing scene now!!I love the environment during the socials, given the sensual nature of these dances, some people outside the group can get inappropriate sometimes, but that have never been my experience with the guys that attend the workshops and socials. I feel free to dance and express myself in a safe environment and enjoy the dancing to the maximum. Also I like that they encourage everybody to ask for dances. As ladies, we dont have to wait for that, we just ask or get asked.Besides Bachata, I am also taking Kizomba classes, I had the privilege to attend the first Annual Kizomba Fest here in Austin as well as other Kizomba and Zouk classes (thats right, Austin Inspired Movement is bringing Zouk to Austin) and now I am part of the first group of Austin Touch dancers, which is affiliated to the Island Touch Dance Academy.During the Kizomba Fest I meet people from all over US, some of them even mentioned that the dancing scene is not as strong at their hometowns. I feel very lucky that we have this group here in Austin as they keep bringing great and exciting events. Thanks to them I had the opportunity to to meet international talent such as Ataca & La Alemana and Laurent & Adeline Kizomba..and the list will keeps growing!.At the beginning of this year, I was looking for dancing classes...AND I FOUND MUCH MORE WITH AUSTIN INSPIRED MOVEMENT!The classes are great and all the events and socials are really enriching my experience!!
Lessons are a reasonable price and lots of fun, providing great experience with different people at all levels. The socials are great too! One thing that consistently comes up, is that the classes are often 30-45 minutes behind.
It was really fun. I liked the atmosphere. And the instructors were really great. I was completely inexperienced, but they made me feel very comfortable. The only thing is that the class started pretty late behind schedule.
One of the Inspired Movement instructors led a free salsa class at a club I attended with some friends last week. She was very clear and easy to follow for someone like me who had never danced before.
I went to this studio to do a Salsa class for the first time and it was brilliant! The instructors were great and I felt like I had learned loads in just one class. Looking forward to returning at the same time next week!
My first salsa class ever. Great vibes and great people. Can’t wait to come again and improve my moves.
Great instructions. Nice belt concept for all skill levels. I wish Bachata lessons were longer than 1hour.
Perks: Large Studio with huge mirrors to practice!General: The studio has affordable dance class packages. I do Kizomba, Zouk, Salsa,& Batchata dances here in particular. As a beginner (like myself) youll learn very interesting moves and get a lot of practice during sessions with multiple partner rotations. After a session the instructor reviews the moves learned step-by-step for you to record for your own keeping.Their social nights (every week) are super fun especially Salsa/Batchata nights.
Fun! My wife and I came to our first Salsa on1 class with Gerard a few weeks ago and had a blast. We learned new little details that are Improving my game! You should join us!
Great Place to learn Latin social dancing and make friends. Bring ear protection as sometimes it can be a bit loud with all the chatter and music.
This is THE place to learn how to dance Salsa!! The instructors are excellent and make it super easy to follow along..they also have different group levels that meet at the same time so you can find where you fit in.
Shauna was an amazing bachata teacher! Congratulations to her and her quality work! Definitely recommend coming here for dance lessons or just a fun night
Great dance instruction from good people, I’ve brought many of my friends through to try different dances here and they always have a great time.
Excellent instructors, competent, insightful, very helpful, and they organize and choreograph several of Austins best performance teams. IM also drives many of the best dance socials in Austin - Cant say enough about these fine people!
Started Thursday night with my intro to salsa and bachata dancing. And it was incredible. The instructors and owner was great to work with. I leanred a lot. And had so much fun
Great place to learn different styles of dance and connect with others, all of the instructors are incredible
I feel like I got ripped off at this location!!! I came in with my card that I had paid for 5 classes and the lady at the desk saw that it didn’t had an expiration date on it and she took it and didn’t gave it back saying it was expired. I bought ten classes and they gave me two 5 classes cards and they never told me that they can expired. I even asked then that when could I use the classes and they said whenever I wanted. I mean if they changed the rules and now the cards expire, I get it but don’t take the cards I bought before they changed their rules. I only got to use two classes out of the 10. They had been rude to me and my friends before and I could take that but not this! Whoever owns this place should take a closer look on how their staff treats new people
Great place to learn how to dance great pace Im definitely coming again
Best social dance studio in town. Instructors are fun and engaging. The curriculum is really well thought out.
I really appreciate the staff working with me and helping me find the right classes for me!
This place proved to be perfect break from my stressful life. Instructors are amazing and everyone is really friendly. Socials are the best!
I love the people and the instructors at IM. I definitely recommend the Tuesday night bachata classes and sensual social!
Great Instructors! Great group of people and environment even for beginners! I like how they have different levels of instruction for the same genre on the same day.
Great place to learn to dance!
Great environment and teachers.
The most accepting, fun and respectful dance community in Austin. Definitely visit!
OH MY GOODNESS!!!! I found my dance family!!! Everyone is so lovely, knowledgeable and sparkly!! Come ready for a good time!!!
Very good
The perfect place.....and become a great salsa dancer my girlfriend and I tried for the First time and we’re definitely going back....
