Summit Rooftop

The staff were nice enough, but the whole event felt like a scam. We bought tickets to see Shaboozy at 10 pm. We were there at 9:30; doors didn’t open until 10:00. Cool. We went elsewhere for a drink and came back. Got in and got drinks: all was good. DJ was hyping up the crowd, cool. Two hours pass. DJ started recycling sampled music. We were told by staff that he wouldn’t be performing until 1:00 or 1:30 because we asked. They close at 2! There was nothing saying that it would be more than 3 hours before he came on and no announcement about it either. It seems like they’re there to get people drunk as a cash grab and nothing else.

Horrible staff experience, not just bad, HORRIBLE. Highly do not recommend going to this venue. Our bartender started yelling at my friend for not tipping enough for 4 shots... She then proceeded to give us a free alcoholic beverage and then told him not to return. Later in the night she was throwing people out of the bar, yelling at security and causing a scene because he allegedly talked back. Belligerent and unprofessional. Do not buy tickets or visit this venue.

This place sucks. Went to see Lavern, arrived at 10 to get a feel for the vibe despite Lavern not coming out until 12ish. Vibes were not present so we decided to go get a drink at a neighboring bar. The wannabe owner/manager short, yellow glasses, fake pearls wearing individual let us know that we wouldnt be able to return past 12. Keep in mind, Lavern wasnt even coming on until 12. Luckily we returned at 11:56....just in time to enjoy the show despite how loud it was in the venue. I recommend you bring ear protection to combat the crazy volume in this janky venue.

This venue is a complete and total scam. They advertised a concert, but in reality it was a 10 minute appearance and the rest of the djs they had were horrific. Below screenshot shows what was advertised. You wouldn’t think from that advertisement that it would be him playing 2 songs from 1:30-1:40 am, right? Do not waste your money at this venue. You can’t trust the shows they are advertising. People were also denied refunds. Shameful.

Warning to not buy tickets for a show here. Paid $100 to wait around 3+ hours for the artist to come out for less than 10 mins at 1:30am. There was no communication. The night felt like a scam. Lots of amazing venues in Austin. This is not one of them.

Horrible experience. Paid $65 to see a show that was supposed to start at 10 pm and then was told the artist was not coming on until 1:30 am. I kindly asked for a refund and was denied. Shady business practices and poor management.

Paid for a show that was advertised to start at 10pm but didnt start till 1:30am and lasted less than 10 minutes. The DJ played old irrelevant music prior to the artist coming on. First and last time I will be going to this venue. Save your $ and time.

Paid $120 for two tickets on Saturday to see SHABOOZEY, arrived at 10pm and had to wait until 1:30am for him to perform for 7 whole minutes. He did a snippet of a new song, a quarter of Beverly Hills, and a bar song two times in a row then left. Waste of time, and the drinks are outrageously expensive.

0 stars because I ordered well tequila all night and the bartender up-charged me for espolon all night but poured me wells. made me keep a tab open after I asked to close out and then charged me double the price.

Scam artists, refuse refunds on tickets despite the show starting 3.5 hours late and the artist only performing for 7 minutes when they promoted it as a full live show. Despicable, highly recommend not supporting them and be wary of attending any concerts/shows here

Went on a Saturday for a friend’s birthday but the music was way too loud! One of my friends left pretty quickly bc she kept having to cover her ears. They should adjust the volume a bit, especially given how small the place is.

The bar is amazing, and the rooftop is superfly. To bad the security is so horrible. They literally made me beg to come in while holding my money in the air away from me.. humiliating would be the vibe. I would not host your event here cuz the ego be massive and definitely hurts sales.

This place is a absolute scam. Do not go here for any show or event. I paid 2 tickets to see a show that said it would start at 10pm then was told he wouldn’t start performing till 1:30am. Basically feels like i got scammed to pay for a cover charge to enter the place instead seeing the show. The opener do was basically trying to hype us up for the person we came to see for 3 hrs and 30 mins straight knowingly he won’t show up till 15 to 30 mins before closing. I repeat do not go here for any event or show!!!!

Spent over 100.00 bucks and almost 4 hours of my life for a 10 minute concert from Shaboozy what a money grab the Website said it starts a 10pm they should of said this was a DJ show and a guest appearance from Shaboozy not a Electrifying concert from him such lies Ill never go back.

We love Summit! It is such a fantastic time every time that we go. They have so many fun shows available. I definitely recommend visiting when possible!

This place is a scam. I paid $100 on two tickets to see Shaboozy plus $100+ for two drinks. Shaboozy performed for less than 10 minutes. I want a refund.

Loved everything about my experience here 8/4/2023 - the chill atmosphere (so welcome on a steamy hot summer night), the opening artist Errow who shared incredible music and energizing beats, the friendly staff and tasty drink options at the bar, and most importantly- 💙Phantoms! 💙They created such an uplifting, fun, dance- inspiring set with an awesome playlist. And they blew us away as 2 super kind human beings, taking time to chat (and share a shot ) with us after the set. Thank you! Unforgettable night. ✨🖤🎶🖤✨

Fabulous venue for a DJ set, small enough that everyone can see the DJs and feel apart of the crowd but big enough that you can still move about and get a little extra dancing space if you need it. Beers arent ludicrously expensive either, which is nice for a club. I always found it easy to get service too.

If I could give it 0 stars I would. I had to wait an hr to get inside for a Black Coffee show. Missed most of his set. The bouncers at the door have no idea what they are doing & they kept holding the door because “it was at capacity”. Maybe if they didn’t oversell the venue to make a few extra bucks on tickets we’d be able to get in. Came from Dallas to deal with this cluster. Never going back, save your money!!!!! This small venue has potential for some intimate vibes but it’s a money grab. Never going back no matter who’s playing.

Good place for EDM music. You can dance, get drinks, and move around. The bartenders and security were fine. I was afraid this would be a bad place (from All the bad reviews). But it’s actually attractive venue & has a good vibe.

My 6 friends & I attended a party as Martin Ikin as the DJ. Undeniably, we had a blast. The music was great and the venue’s aesthetic was great. Unfortunately, the host at the front door gave us a bargain for bottle service when initially we decided we were not going to purchase. He agreed to a price for two bottles of liquor. At the end of the night, him and the manager disputed the agreement and told us our friend were mearly “drunk” and that we clearly misunderstood. Six of us verbally heard the host agree to the price. 40Dollars a person won’t break us, however we know we were scammed. Be cautious.

Worst NYE experience. Will never come back here. Waste of $$$!!! Should be able to give it zero stars!!!We purchased an over priced section. It would have been fine if we actually received service and it was a pleasant experience.They didn’t even bring us champagne until we complained. A complete scam!!False advertisement, incompetent staff. Also very disappointed as this was a Hella Yella event and the vibe was off. I would imagine he would be spinning at the roof top but that wasn’t the case. As soon as it was 12pm everyone left the club and it was empty but it wasn’t a packed event to begin with. We probably didn’t even need to purchase anything for how horrible of an outcome it was. I want my money back! Buyer beware if you purchase anything for any type of event they host here.

Wish I could give it zero stars. I paid to get into a DJ show a couple weekends ago and purchased one drink then my friend bought a table. The fact that we even had to pay to get into an event when we purchased a table is absurd. That next day, I realized the bartender over charged me for drinks I never ordered. Tried calling and you can’t get anyone on the phone. Emailed three times and finally someone by the name of Johnny responded and told me there was no way the bartender could have overcharged me and I cannot be refunded. Terrible customer service and poorly run establishment. Will never be going back here and neither will my friends. Save your money and go somewhere else.

This place was really cool. I recommend doing the low tier VIP package, you get a nice bathroom and bar near front just for VIPs. Also it is probably obvious but most shows start WAYYY after doors open. Typical for Dj sets tho.

Amazing DJ and energetic vibes. Pretty bad vibe when we entered at 10pm but it picked up like crazy and stayed till 3am dancing. There might be a cover charge or we were ripped of 30$, either way be weary of that!

Very weird vibe here. Small and intimate. The main speaker array is in the middle of the venue facing the backs of the pit. Its odd dancing while facing the stage only to hear the music come from behind. There was also a large, temporary barrier preventing views of downtown Austin and the street below for reasons unknown. It was quite dead around 11pm, didnt start picking up until midnight. Its not a Vegas club but it does the best it can

It can be fun with the right people but definitely not a hype place. There’s a power-trippy type of bouncer there and that definitely ruined vibes. Tables are priced differently each time so there’s definitely some ripping off going on too. Either way, just a cheap and awkward establishment!

Went here tonight. This place is amazing!! We left to hit another bar and ended up coming back here. Theres an employee stationed at the womens bathroom reminding ladies to be safe and keep an eye on their drinks. Shes such a wonderful necessity. Mama was her name and she was great to talk with and I really appreciated having her there keeping an eye on us.

The place is nice. It is a rooftop so it is not nice in cold weather. The sound has not the deep bass EDM needs. All the speakers are on one side of the dance floor so if you are on the other side the music sounds dimmed.

Hardcore club with a DJ and all of the lights and smoke you can desire.

Great music! Probably the best music from all the bars I went to during my visit! Getting a drink is quick and no long lines at the bar. Next time I’m in Austin I will be back!

Went for their country music series and enjoyed the show. Definitely doesnt attract a dancing crowd. Most people just either stood around and watched or minded their business from the VIP tables. I believe this place only works if weather permits so try going on a nice day.

Great experience. Accidentally spilled one of my beers at the bar when I was handing back the check and the bartender just replaced it immediately. She didnt even see my tip yet and she was so chill about it. Im glad I gave a good tip anyways! You just have to go. Its such an amazing setting having the roof open like that. Saw ghastly perform an after party with suprise guest riot ten!

Summit is always filled with beautiful people and a great dj. I love the rooftop and multiple bars, so you arent stuck waiting forever for a drink. This place is good for a night out, or table service for a special occasion or celebration.

They wont stop playing OFFENSIVE n words over and over. Its like they just pick ones they know will be there and then BLASTING IT. Then they search for another over and over. Im not black, but its extremely out of control that they are trying to get people drunk with impaired judgment so that they can bombard them with offensive pejoratives.

There werent that many people tonight. - However dont let a dead dance floor stop you. If you care about music and dont want to listen to trap beats that destroy your ears - this is the place. Well thought out melodic mixes and an amazing DJ (Lamar) playing a wide range of house, pop rap, and classic electronic.

Saturday night dj is killer! Very nice venue and the crowd is always excited. Usually pretty packed. Reserving a table is about 300$ a bottle so its decently priced too.

Sound system is good. Drinks were alright, not the best made. Dirty and outdated bathrooms. Friendly staff though.

My friends and I had tickets to the Keys N Krates show on 8/23. We arrive and the bouncer refuses to let us in because some of us aren’t 21+. NOWHERE ON THE SUMMIT WEBSITE NOR ON THE TICKETS DOES IT SAY THAT SUMMIT IS A 21+ VENUE. We showed them this and they refunded us after much arguing and waiting. About 50 people after us also received refunds because they too bought their tickets and were not aware of the 21+ rule (because it was not stated anywhere when buying the tickets, on the tickets themselves, or on the website). The manager/owner of the club was very patronizing to us but we stuck around and demanded our refunds. My friends and I won’t be going back to this place ever again.

No longer has the best EDM in Austin. Overpriced drinks, rude bouncer at the door wholl make you wait longer to try to get $10 out of you while he lets 10 other people in. Used to be able to ignore all of this when the music was the best.

My 5’2 100 lb daughter was a customer at your bar last Thursday night. She and her friends were unnecessarily man handled by a very large, way over 6 ft tall, bouncer who shouted profanities and pushed them down the stairs. The crime!?!? They asked him why he was kicking out their friend and touched his arm to get his attention. This kind of aggression is not appropriate!! I understand having to maintain control and order at a drinking establishment with customers that can be unruly but this was NOTHING like that. What’s the explanation of this uncivil, aggressive, physical behavior by YOUR employee?? 10 days later....still no call back from The Summit.

Went for SXSW for a ticketed event to see Borgeous. The audio was horrible. I was embarrassed for Borgeous to have to perform under these conditions. World class DJs deserve better. Other than the poor audio in this rooftop bar, everything else was kind of meh. The staff had you wait in line with everyone else, even though you had prepaid for your tickets. There is a single small bathroom for men and women, and the lines are huge throughout the night. The venue is small and made even smaller by the roped off reserved sections. It tries to copy the Vegas EDM clubs, but falls very short in my opinion.

I went 5/23/19 for the Trey Songz performance and appearance. Initially, I did receive good service from Summit employees. A middle aged black bald man who went out of his way to get me a seat for handicap accessibility after I was permitted to sit in VIP section until the VIP guests arrived. Also, Georgia the bartender was amazing. For this reason Summit Austin is at least getting some credit here. Now other then this, I waited, waited, and waited for Trey Songz. The DJs (Cali and LX, I believe) kept hyping up the crowd by saying are you ready for Trey Songz or saying Trey Songz was about to come out. 11pm, 12am, 1am, 1:30am still NO SIGNS of Trey Songz. Finally someone comes on the mic and says its the fault of the establishment not Trey for him not showing. Trey arrives around 2am after lights came on and bar closes. Music played briefly when he walked in. Trey picked a few girls for pics (mostly white/Hispanic women) and was barricaded by a flock of security where you couldnt see him or get pics. The music was cut and security was pushing everyone around and directing them out of the building. Terrible event and a disorganized mess.Update: Called Summit this morning and was given a number to call as they stated the event was outsourced to a promoter and not their fault. Will provide update regarding refund status.Update 2: Still NO refunds from promoter

This place is very much in it for the money.For the How I Met Your Mother fans this is a Woo-girl venue.The sound system is very lacking with only 1 subwoofer and its not even put near the dancefloor. They recently hosted krewella here and it was awful.Maybe 10 people had a good time and they were all crowding the singular subwoofer lol

We were there in town for a friend bachelor party. We spent 2 nights there and spent a lot of money in the process. We are from out of town and when I called the day that we were leaving to see if they had my wallet I got no response. The next few days when I got home I kept trying to call them and finally got a hold of someone. They said yes we have your wallet and we will send it to you. She asked for my address and I even offered to pay to have them ship it. It has now been 6 weeks later and they still have not sent it back. The manager I spoke with keeps texting me back insisting that they had it, but I have not seen anything!!!! Not to mention when we were there we saw 1 guy knock out 2 people and the bouncers sat around and just let the guy walk right out.

One of the best clubs in Austin. Saturday nights usually feature house music DJs and even on crowded nights there is room to dance. Open roof concept provides fresh air during cooler months.

I went for NYE but it was amazing! The rooftop patio is gorgeous, the table service is awesome, and the DJ was great! Couldn’t have asked for a better night.

Place is fine location wise. No craft beers, no beers on tap.. beers only in retarded tins. I asked to make a good drink from rum and he served me rum and coke. Never going again.

This is a gorgeous rooftop deck bar and club. Two bars flank the dance floor. The dj is awesome. Downstairs serves some great eats as well.

Good music for clubbing and expensive designed buildout. If you want a high end place to party and bottle pop, this is a good choice. Not the cheapest, but it draws some pretty people.

The least douchiest of the douchbag bars in Austin. This roof top club is where you go when you want to get dressed up, buy bottles and dance. They host some great djs. Sometimes the door guy is nice and lets most people in. Sometimes they try to charge girls $20. If you decide to come here one thing is for sure you are going to have a great time shaking it! (make sure you dress to impress not your typical lax Austin dress code spot).

This is another location that sticks out in Austin because of its bottle service. The rooftop is pretty amazing with a good DJ. The drinks are slightly expensive compared to other close locations. This is an East 6th street crowd.

Take your receipts and triple check your bank account afterwards.I went here yesterday with a couple of pals. First off it was 4 of us and I ordered drinks for my friends and was charged gratuity! Once I saw this I crossed out my tip. Today, I look at my bank statement and find out they added the tip that I clearly crossed out. Called Summit to complain only to reach an answering machine. CHECK YOUR STATEMENTS PEOPLE. Total thieves.

Great venue for music but one particular bartender was rude and definitely wasnt good at her job, literally ignoring customers for what I perceived as regulars of the bar....plan she sucked

Great spot for EDM dancing. Late night is when all the really good dancers come out. Always a fun time.

Summit quoted me a price for the evening (bottle service) and then charged me nearly double what they originally quoted me and won’t correct the mistake. I’ve never had that happen to me before but this is by far the worst experience out I’ve ever had. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE.

Easily worst experience at a bar. Wait at the bar for an hour only to have the bartender continuously ignore and then be rude when asked.
