Rented a section for someones birthday at the night club and it was the WORST experience. People were sitting in our section when we first got there. The bottle girl was non existent, we had to ask where she was after an hour and a half of sitting there with no bottles. Once she came, half the bottles were out of stock and she never brought ice or juice. She put no effort at all into the service. Plus they charge you and your guest at the entrance even after you paid for the section. Does not state that anywhere online. We ended up having to dispute with our bank because of the $150+ “service charge” that we never received. Even tried talking to the manager to make it right but no answer. Worst place in Charlotte.
The place is nice for events, good music (although the last time I went they repeated 2 songs 4 times), the service at the bar is good. But Binomio de oro presentation was scheduled for 10 at night began at 12:40 at night, at 1:30 access to the restrooms was already restricted and one of the people who restricted access supposedly He didnt speak Spanish. But he knew all the bad words to say to an attendee at the event and we thought he was going to hit him just for wanting to access the restroomroom and being drunk. Not forgetting that access to the site took more than 1 hour in line.Every time I have attended the same place there has been some problem, especially with the artists because of the schedule, the sound, the quality.
The music was cool when we went cause its was Latin Night. Be ready to deal with rude staff and annoying security that will make you feel like using the restroom is a military drill.🤣 Also if you like to get upcharged bring atleast $50+ cause two shots are like $45.
Worst experience I’ve had anywhere. Most expensive cover charge in Charlotte for no reason. Felt like 3000 people on a cramped floor and I felt hands in my pockets trying to steal my things. Same songs played over and over. Will NEVER be back
I was kicked out after having two shots of Casamigos, which charge at least $20 per shot. I spent over $400 at the club and got treated like literal garbage don’t ever come to the club if you want to have a fun time because it will ruin it.
Treats me and friends poorly. 5/6 of us was 21, 1 was 20 and none of us thinking, someone was having issue with my friend (20) holding my drink for a split second! the security guard literally told her she has to leave or go to the back of the line to get entered in bc “she was drinking” she went back in line just for that an idiot one of the workers trying to escort us out and barking at us like we’re criminals. the line a wrapped around the building, it was gonna get wayyyy to pack and unbreathable drinks are way over charged ! $40 for 2 margaritas is a joke.
Had my friend on my shoulders and got kicked out. I definitely shouldn’t have done it, but they claimed to have talked to me twice but in reality they talked to me one time. One person gave me a warning so I stopped but then 10 seconds later some other guy came up to me and kicked me out and said they talked to me 3 times (which they didn’t.) Didn’t get talked to once, and got kicked out. Cover fee is way too high, and staff feels like they don’t want to be there. Better off going somewhere else like coyote joes.
World Nightclub in Charlotte, North Carolina, left me thoroughly disappointed. The experience was extremely unprofessional, with staff exhibiting rudeness and a nasty attitude. To top it off, the prices were overpriced for what they offered. I strongly advise against visiting this establishment I would not recommend it to anyone. Also the DJ is terrible.
Pros:Like sporting events, going to a popular artist in Charlotte can be super affordable. World ticket prices seem pretty reasonable.Unlike most clubs, the air temperature was kept pretty good. I feel like this is especially important during these times.Cons:We got VIP tickets so that we could get away from big crowds. We did get to be in a different entry line that moved much faster. However, it was very unclear what else we got from the VIP ticket. We went upstairs to overlook the show, but non-VIP holders could go there as well. The event time was 10:00, but I guess this was the doors open time? I wish there was more info about the events, it is very tough for first timers.
After getting my jnj, the club was the first place I wanted to go. I was hesitant going to World during the Covid restrictions, however with the table and bottles being included- I had a blast. Easy to buy drinks and move around.Definitely would recommend it, honestly might be a better move without tons of general admission.Bar accessibility 4/5Restroom access 5/5Line processing 3/5Aesthetic and atmosphere 5/5Music 5/5
Not a safe place for young women. None of the security on duty 02/10 helped with a sexual assault that happened on the dance floor. Female security guard put an 18 yo girl outside by herself without ensuring her safety outside the club. WOMEN BEWARE!
Very nice venue that has really great artists scheduled year round. Sold out shows are tight as you would expect but still room to move and breathe. The mix of under 21 and over 21 tickets sold allows fairly easy access to the bar if you are looking to get a drink. The only issue I have with the place is their organization and system (or lack thereof) of getting people through the doors as they line up outside. Doesnt seem that there is a reason to buy a VIP ticket as our line was actually moving significantly slower than the regular ticket line. No priority was given and we actually ended up being the last ones in.
Pros:Good DJGood soundGood lightsCons:Where to even begin...Pre-show: Long line and slow moving. Security is ridiculous. Worse than the TSA. They should spend less time worrying about vape pens are more time looking for weapons. Still looks like a foreclosed LABEL or something. Your brand starts outside. Invest in making this a better experience.Once inside: Clearly oversold on the floor. Truly packed on all sides. Paid $80 bucks to upgrade to VIP and had friends with table bottle service. Overpriced bottle service. This isnt LA.VIP folks pay a lot to go there and not get stepped on, spilled on, or treated poorly. Bar backs need to be MUCH more careful in this section. One toting a trashcan full of red liquid sloshed it all over my white shirt and white shoes. Terrible.VIP Restrooms were BLOCKED OFF OUT OF ORDER. Is it even VIP if you have to go fight the huge crowds every time you have to use the restroom? You are charging for services and not delivering upon them. Unacceptable.
VIP was the way to go fasho bottle service was kinda slow but it was packed and late understandably skipped the line and was taken to our section promptly. Security was helpful as well
Nice place for a younger crowd. I visit this club two weeks ago. ( Saturday) Mix music and mix crowd. Entry price was $10.00 pretty cheap but they get you on the drinks. Very pricey mix drinks $16.00 for an 8oz. cup which was half way full of ice.
Worst night club ever if i could give zero stars i would terrible experience with security and bartenders
I went for New Year’s Eve, and expected it to be packed but it was way too crowded. $80 to get in for 2 people and $80 for 2 shots and a beer. Then proceeded to get punched by a dude and even though security drug him out, nothing else was done to make sure I was okay or felt safe.
Was good, went to latin world and it wan not Latin at all
I purchased two VIP tickets for a lil baby appearance at World. Paid $200 per ticket. Upon arrival, even though the tickets were ‘skip the line’ my friend and I waited over 40 minutes to enter the club. There were many others in front of us in the ‘VIP line’ that had not pre purchased their tickets and were scrambling to get their VIP tickets…people in front of us just arguing / trying to negotiate with staff about their ticket prices or sections…in addition many people were just cutting the line. There was no process for people who had already purchased tickets to enter the club quicker. Once at the club entry stand we were given wrist bands but then shoveled into the building with no direction for where to go for ‘upper level access.’ We wandered the main floor and found a staff member who directed us where to find the stair case to access upper level. Once we finally found a stair case and walked up… there was nobody checking or verifying VIP wrist bands.. anyone was just walking up. By the time we were upstairs/ordered drinks it had been over an hour of a process. I wrote the website about my experience and received no response. Will never book VIP here ever again.
The only thing I didn’t like was the people on the top floor throwing bottles of water, cups, ice down on the people on the ground. They should get at least one person scoping it out on each side to keep the people on the ground floor safe.
$40 for parking $20 for entrance, and drinks are expensive inside. Kind of crowded and expensive, but overall a nice club.
Wouldnt attend again. Not my cup of tea...five bucks for some water is a bit much. No ventilation. No place to sit and Im not big on paying VIP after Ive already paid for a ticket and parking. The bartenders were very nice though.
I have been to Label many times before it closed and was reopened as World..The last few shows I saw were Markus Schulz and Cosmic Gate. Both experiences were sub par in regards to getting in 1 hr after the doors opened. In cold weather, Label also made no effort to have any kind of heat lamps outside the front door, or just let the crowd in at the time promised.I see complaints here simply about $5 water bottles.... well folks, if that’s the worst of it then that’s just fine. Most venues charge that for water bottles and if you go to the bar to say u need a cup for a friend who is basically incompetent then they won’t refuse. In my experience, requesting water for a less fortunate party goer, I haven’t been turned down.Anyway, the problems I hope to see World does NOT repeat are:Don’t over sell the show. Label did that at the end and it felt like a sweat lodge with shoulder to shoulder contact. They were really milking the guests for $ and depleting us of enjoyment and comfort of space to dance. The previous VIP set up was horrible, making the only public area the main floor and outside patio. I heard World has opened the upstairs to VIP.I hope this means the bottom level will be more GA friendly.Other than those thoughts, I’m looking forward to my first World experience. Hoping they haven’t just changed their “label” but also the experience.🤗
Small, but tons of energy! The bartenders were all cool. Only down side- The security people could use a little more organization. We paid for VIP but even though the line we waited in was shorter, the regular line started moving and got in twice as fast as we did. That wasnt cool. Overall, great experience anyway.
Music is too loud for neighboring residents. Be respectful!!!
I bought VIP tickets for myself and a friend to see Cosmic Gate a few months ago. It was great to bypass the regular line and get in right away through the VIP line, but when we got inside and went upstairs as directed, we realized that VIP simply meant we had our own bars and restrooms. There were tons of empty, roped-off tables, and we asked several employees how much one would be to purchase or who we should talk to, no one seemed interested enough to find out or give us an answer. The sound and lighting systems were great and we really enjoyed the show itself, but the apathetic employees really left a bad taste in our mouths. Were both in the restaurant industry and we know what real first class service is. This wasnt it.
I usually don’t make reviews but I went to this club on Halloween thinking I’ll have a good time. I was sadly mistaken. I couldn’t even use the bathroom they kicked us out. The bartender by the main entrance ignored me and was very rude when I asked for my drink. The music was okay but the people there was super rude as well. No one seemed friendly. Everyone was in cliques and just were all stuck up. I wish I had a better time bet unfortunately I didn’t.
This place used to be amazing but now its just an empty shell, with horribly unfriendly staff, no options for drinks, no toilet paper or paper towels in the bathroom and dried vomit in more places than I would ever care to see. Its a shame. On the plus side, the lights and sound system are still great, so if all you care about is the music, its still a good venue for that.
Awesome performers. However the air conditioning was out and the venue was pretty much a sweat bath for the entire concert. There werent any fans blowing at all. Bottles of water where $4. And while its an awesome venue, with that many people air conditioning is a necessity. When I messaged the venue via Facebook, theres not yet been an indication that they read the message to ask about when the AC would be fixed.
I have been to world multiple times. They always oversell tickets. Last night Armin was an absolute disaster. Not only was it oversold but the air conditioner was not working on one of the hottest days of the year thus far. We paid $80 for VIP tickets but we pretty much paid $80 to go in a sauna. I have never been that uncomfortable or sweat that much in my life. It was extremely dangerous and unsafe to have that many people in there with no air circulating. Looking down on GA you literally could not move. My sister who was completely sober threw up from the heat.. it was that bad. I have no idea why they dont move these shows to the filmore when they know such a large crowd will be attending. I am sure none of us will get refunded but we should for that BS and for them ruining Armin for us!
Experienced this place as Label and now World and I like and dislike the changes. I REALLY do not appreciate $5 bottles of water and only hot water in the bathrooms. We are all humans and all need water, no need to extort that. I enjoyed the outdoor area with couches and the open bar setting outside. I also like that there was not a DJ outside so I could enjoy the headliners music.
Always wait in a line for 45 minutes to an hour. It feels like the venue is always oversold. Have sucked it up until the Armin show. Besides being oversold, Fire marshals showing up and the AC going out they ran out of water. I had to go to multiple bar tenders before one would give me a cup of tap water(I even offered to pay for it and was told they weren’t allowed to give out free water)!! The only reason they are still in business is the headliners they bring in. They are more worried about making a profit then creating a safe environment.
Called at 9pm beforehand to see if there was a cover to get in the club and the person said $20 over the phone. also asked a couple of questions about dress code and minimum age to get in which is 18 and up. We get there and they tell us $50 because there was a “special event.”We told the ticket lady they said it was $20 over the phone. (Wasted our time driving there btw.) she nicely gave us the tickets for $25. We asked the lady what kind of music the dj was playing she said they played everything. The moment we get in the club the only music they were playing was hispanic music lol. wouldn’t have mind the club if people were turnt but it was sooo dead. if they were honest about the music they were playing we wouldn’t have gotten in the club and wouldn’t have written this review. spent a total of $125 for hispanic music smh.
Terrible place, terrible security, terrible & rude staff, overpriced drinks & mid music.
Unbelievable, that’s the exact word I would use to describe what unfolded last night for the Armin show. It was so bad that telling people the stories people think you’re making it up lolWe reserved a table last night for 10 of us to attend the Armin show. We arrived at about 11 and I would say at that point the club was extremely full (at or near capacity) and very hot. We get to our table and our waitress was extremely pleasant. By the time Armin came on, about midnight, it was unbearable. They oversold the show tremendously, if they say they didn’t they are greedy liars ... No AC, our table had a vent blowing directly at it that I could reach up and touch, there was nothing coming out. People passing out, people throwing up from heat exhaustion, puke all over the dancefloor (the temp inside was easily over 100 degrees) they ran out of water, which is laughable because you can just drive somewhere and pick up more. The bathrooms had condensation from the heat on all of the mirrors. Every single person in the establishment shed as many clothes as they felt comfortable shedding.I don’t know how the employees or Armin just didn’t quit. The only reason we stayed because we all love Armin and we, as a group had a great time with ourselves. If we didn’t have a table up top with a door that we could walk out and get a breath of fresh air we would have left, mad props to the people on the dancefloor all night and also our waitress who had a smile on her face the whole time.It was impossible to truly enjoy the night as we should have had the ability to do. And it’s a shame. With absolutely no communication from management/ownership or any attempt to rectify the problems it disgusts me. No bottled water, no manager coming up to tables spending thousands of dollars across the room, not owning up to your mistakes. Not even something like “hey guys thanks for spending $1,500 and have a great time trying to dance in Satan’s nutsack.”We will never return to this dump that puts money they make over the safety, well being and enjoyment of their patrons and I hope many of the artist you try to book in the future Go to more respectable establishments.
They bring in a good amount of quality acts and if you’re looking for a ratchet night it’s fun. However if you like to dance with space and chill it’s not worth going unless you get VIP or a Table. The GA area is absolutely ridiculously packed and you cannot move—obviously this happens at raves but this is excessive, to the point where it feels like they oversell tickets.
BEWARE BUYING TICKETS FROM DISCODONNIEPRESENTS. I bought my brother and I VIP tickets 20min before we walked in to see Loud Luxury. Well, when we went to have them scanned it said that the tickets had been scanned 3hrs before we got there and that they were general admission tickets! The staff was very helpful in assisting us. I felt a little rubbed the wrong way when I started to feel the impression we were trying to, I guess, scam our way in and I kept having to show my receipt saying I had JUST purchased the VIP ticket showing my payment of $30 NOT $15 right before I approached the club. With that being said the blonde manager and a girl with curly hair waiting the door were great at doing their best to resolve the issue. They let us in despite the error instead of turning us away. Thank you! They forgot to tell us to get VIP bands, so we went around as instructed by a polite bouncer who led us to even more polite staff who gave us our VIP bands without issue and apologized even though it wasnt necessary. The security guys were pleasant also. I always enjoy myself there. I understand the venue must have nothing to do with the tickets, but there needs to be a more efficient way in handling that type of situation (why the 4 stars). It was very hard to not begin feeling offended as time went on trying to get in. I know these ladies did their best to figure it out and I do greatly appreciate their effort trying to solve somethin that was clearly the ticketing websites issue.
Absolutely 0% customer service. I messaged them, left them a message with no response from their team about a show and bottle service. By far the worst club/event host possible I’ve ever dealt with. I’m from California and I know how to treat a paying customer when it comes time to reply to messages for big events or concerts. Step your game up asap
I understand they have a job to do, getting everyone through the door but this nightclub had some of the rudest employees I have ever met. ESPECIALLY the girl wearing the yellow puff jacket. Went to see a rapper that we enjoy and was very disappointed in the venue!
Im disappointed that somes artist come to this venue! Careful security steals your things, that they say you can pick up later (dont fall for it). Very cramped mess of a room. Vip is not worth it in the summer. Only when its cold, and they force long lines by their terrible ID check system. You wont feel that friendly atmosphere that other venues offer. Prices are ridiculous, they dont offer any other water option but expensive water.
Ive enjoyed a good number of great shows here. The sound system is good and I love the lights. The bouncers have always treated me well, and the outside patio is awesome if you dont mind smokers. The only issue I have is where I usually stand. I stand where I think the most bass is, at the back of the dance floor just below the raised VIP section. And I ALWAYS, ALWAYS, get some dumb broad spilling her drink on me. It just about RUINS it every time. Id like to see them install a rail along the glass wall to prevent it, but I highly doubtful that ever happening. Bottom line, I like it and will keep going :)
Came for the armin van burenn show was extremely disappointed and frankly disgusted. they definitely over-sold tickets for this show. i have never in my life been surrounded by that many bodies and they should be ashamed that they continued to allow people to enter even though it was very apparent they were at capacity. they have air conditioning in the lobby (where they were telling people not to stand) but not in the hallways where people who didn’t want to stand on the crowded dance floor which also did not have air conditioning. they are obviously more concerned with making money than the safety of people purchasing the tickets.
I would give 0 stars if I could. It’s supposed to be Karol g and Feid night and all the dj plays is el Alfa or el jefe not even worth your money unless you want to constantly hear that type of music
Completely oversold and no AC. Fire dept and police showed up due to the EXTREME oversold attendance. Inside temps were well over 100. People passing out from the heat. VIP tickets are useless. Management doesn’t care about the customer, just selling as many tickets as possible. We will never attend an a event at this club again.
Charged false tips to my debit cardThis nightclub either has a malicious practice towards writing in false tips on customers debt/credit cards or they have a few bad employees. A water is $5 and I get that its a nightclub, yeah, it’ll be overpriced. But i never tipped with my card that night. My husband and I tipped only in cash and we wrote in the exact amount of the drinks we purchase on the receipts when we paid with a card. Let me also include that i was sober that night so there is no way I wrote in a tip and forgot about it. The night of the Flux Pavilion concert, July 20th 2018, i bought two waters at the bar in the VIP loft. Each water was $5, but on my first water, my card was charged $6 and on the second water i was charged $5.88. It is obvious to me that someone wrote in a tip and change the amount i had originally written on my receipt. Someone changed my 5 to a 6 and someone changed my 00 to 88. I understand that i am partially to blame, I left the tip line blank. I should have crossed it out or wrote in “no tip.” And yes, its only $1.88, but who knows how much money this club is making off the hundreds of people who attended. I contacted the club by email, I was unable to reach them by phone, and they said they would look into it. It has been over a week now since they contacted me back and I have heard nothing from them nor have I received any refund. So please, if you’re not going to tip with your card, make sure to cross that line out.
I would like to add that my experience at World is always terrible. You almost have to make the best of it yourself. They always oversell tickets and you can’t move an inch in there. Today I attended Armin Van Buren. We dropped $150 for vip tickets for my lady and I. We had to wait in line longer than expected because there is no organization. Some people who did had tickets had to be up charge as vip at the door just to get in? It’s not their fault that World over sold the event. Plus the AC was not working tonight. They need to refund for that piss poor of a job they provided tonight. As I was walking out the fire marshal was outside. Hopefully they do something about it.
So… Amazing Venue However, Only accepting cash for Bottle Service, as well as only being able to take out up to $160 at a time at the ATM with a $5 service charge. OUTRAGEOUS. Such an inconvenience especially when you’re purchasing $1200 worth of bottles? Oh not to add, NO LIQUOR except 1800 and Remy for bottle service SMH. Never Again!
Awesome club ! Service is always great and the music is top tier . Very clean and the light effects are really good here ! You will definitely have a good time !
BEWARE DONT EVER ATTEND an AG entertainment, mogul sport e odie event!! came here for a CIAA event. I dont think the venue is bad but the party promoters who had held the lil wayne and fabulous event on 03/02/18 were horrible. The event was very unorganized and unprofessional. My friends and I had VIP tickets the promoter told us that the general admission line was the line for everyone but in actuality it wasnt, the vip/booth line was on the other side of the building which by thw way we had to walk in the grass/mud to get to. But by then we were in line for 30min in the cold. Once we were in the vip line we had to wait an additional 30min because they were so unorganized. Finally after waiting we get in the club and head to the bar to get drinks but find out everything is cash only. No signs were up, nothing. The line to the atm was long and by that time i was over lines and this club. And to top it off Wayne never showed even though they annouced he was on his way and fabulous showed up 20min before closing. We paid $109 just to stand in lines in the cold for over an hour, couldnt get a drink because line for atm long and for the main star never to show. Horrible night altogether.
If we weren’t seeing Armin we would’ve left immediately. There is no doubt this place was well over capacity as you could barely move. To make matters worse there was no a/c (and it’s the hottest weekend we’ve seen so far this year). Our clothes were literally drenched from sweat. I’m totally mind blown you have a world renowned DJ, with hundreds of people coming to see him and you don’t have working air. We’ve been to other events here before but I can honestly say we won’t be coming back anytime soon. We were beyond excited to see Armin and while he was amazing, the experience was miserable and distracting from what should’ve been a really fun night.
Ive been going here for years almost every weekend majority of staff are friendly and respectful as long as you are to them however there have been some bad eggs. Some times it can be annoying to get to a venue on time though and them not opening doors till 15 minutes after especially if its cold/wet but besides that its a pretty cool lil club
Very cute club with lots of space. There are several VIP sections but I wouldnt recommend VIP unless its for a bday or celebrity appearance. Drinks were very good not watered down at all.
Me and my friends bought tickets for Armin Van Buuren and were extremely disappointed with World and DDP. You guys way over sold tickets to this event which caused major issues. First of all there was absolutely no more room to stand and because of this we had to stand in the entry hallway and weren’t able to enjoy the concert we paid for. Second of all it was dangerously hot due to the excessive amount of people in the building. In fact the Charlotte Fire department had to come and tell world that there were too many people in the building. I heard them tell World management that they were way over capacity and there was a dangerous amount of people in the building. I am disappointed with DDP and World for knowingly over selling this event and ruining the experience for everyone.
Im not sure how you can almost ruin an Armin show. This club felt like bad high school prom. The crowd was rude, the bathrooms were dirtier than portapotties at a county Fair. At one point a few people were passing out and needed help, the staff did nothing so my friends and I had to help them. This was incredibly dangerous and I will not be going back... From now on I will drive to Atlanta for artists like Armin. This was a complete waste of money.
Best and biggest International club wow! This place in the best and there staff goes extra to make your night unforgettable i celebrated my B-day last week and it was one night for the records 🎉💯
I thought wrong! , parking is always a headache with major events this past weekend I attended a concert , I paid to park , was told that parking is patrolled and secured by the police I never saw any police nor security before or after the event ,when I returned to my car my car had been broken into ,window completely shattered it was 3 other cars that this happened to as well and I contacted the club in reference to this matter and nothing was done we were told its not there fault but there are no signs posted stating they are not responsible nor did anyone apologize about this happening. Just be careful! This is a heads up!
I’m continuing on from what others have said. Armin show was so hot I was sweating profusely. Oversold and not staffed well: my complaints are that and also they said on the website I could bring in a bottle of unopened water which they would not let me. So fix your website or fix your security; one of the two: also someone threw up in the middle of the crowd at 11:00 Pm. They never cleaned it up, people were walking around in it.
Armin show.. May 24th.. one of the most mishandled/mismanaged/dangerous shows I’ve ever experienced. Insanely oversold venue, broken AC, people getting sick and passing out, running out of bottles water?!?! COME ON PEOPLE!! The sheer negligence of endangering 2000+ people’s safety THEN go as far to disable reviews and delete comments to try and cover it up (except for google and yelp) and offer zero explanation or apology.... someone from a local Charlotte news Chanel needs to investigate and bring this disastrous situation to light so this never happens to anyone again! Will not be visiting this reckless venue again.
One word to describe the Armin show; dangerous. Ticket sales should have been stopped weeks ago as the venue does not the capacity to hold that volume of people. To add fuel to fire there was no working AC after 90 degree day. Then they “ran out” of water bottles. Here is a possible solution; GO GET MORE WATER!!!!! If someone would have passed out from heat they would have been trampled and seriously injured. I have seen Armin several times and felt safer at Ultra surrounded by thousands and thousands of people than I did there last night. Why would a club spend what it costs to book Armin and have such a disgusting atmosphere?!?!? I had never been to this club and won’t be back.
The service here is inefficient and super slow. Halloween night we had to wait outside in the freezing cold line for an hour and a half, even when we got there 30 minutes early. Ridiculous. It’s 98% rave music (not even good rave) that NOBODY was moving to on the dance floor. Everybody just standing around awkwardly. Parking sucks too.
VIP access will get you a shorter line into the club and possibly a couch facing the not the stage if you arrive early enough. There’s one bar in the VIP area in a corner. Good luck maneuvering that area. You have to have table service to get a decent view of the stage. There is a coat check at the general admission entrance.
Horrible experience and no customer service. I was wrong to use my ecig indoors without knowing it wasnt allowed, but they took it from me and didnt give it back. Later that evening, somebody threw me really hard into a mosh pit, and I got kicked out for it....wasted $20 on a ticket and $50 on my ecig they never returned to me. I tried explaining my situation to multiple bouncers outside, but was cursed at and made to leave the property. I have called 3 times since the incident 4 days ago without any response. This is not how a night club should be allowed to operate. Will not be returning.
Went to the Armin van Buuren show on 5/24. The show was way oversold. There was not enough space for everyone, as shown through multiple fire marshals coming in and observing. The AC must’ve been broken or turned off. Thank God for those with paper fans who tried to cool down people around them, y’all are the real MVPs.Do yourself a favor and skip out on World.
No free water, the bottles of water are $5, and the drinks are bad and expensive. Amazingly beautiful venue, security is incredibly friendly but youre better off going to one of the bars/restaurants in the surrounding area since they have great food and much cheaper drinks.
Never have I ever felt so unsafe at a show. Lets start with the 100+ degree heat on the oversold floor. Followed by fire marshals/police coming in and out distracting from the experience. You simply cant have a name as big as Armin van Buuren in a club this small. Even as positive as a guy Armin is, he couldnt help but imply hes never coming back to World.Just dont.
Worst club venue I’ve ever been too. Went last night and the event was so badly overbooked that people were literally climbing over each other. To make things worse the AC felt like it was off. 75 degrees outside and it felt close to 100 degrees inside. People were throwing up in the middle of the dance floor from the heat and no one from the club would do anything about it. Got so bad that my wife and I tried to step out and get some air, but we couldn’t even get back inside it was so overcrowded. That’s when the fire department showed up and I witnessed them arguing with the club manager about how many people were in the building. Soon after the manager was going around offering refunds to people if they would “leave immediately”. Ended up leaving an hour early after paying $50 to get in. Seriously doubt I’ll get my money back as the club management seemed shady AF.
I am disappointed. This club put attendees to Armin van Buuren’s show at risk. The air conditioner was broken. It was the hottest day on record for 2019 at over 90 degrees. The club was oversold. This club has no concern for its patrons.
It was really crowded when I went but the place looks amazing. Didnt really like the way they pushed everyone out one entrance when the night was over got separated from my friend cause she tried to use the restroom B4 the night was over. They didnt let her use the RR either. 🤷♀️
We went for the sorry papi thing that was going on and the bottles were so overpriced than any other club and the bottle service was terrible. It was ridiculously hot in there compared to any other club that gets packed af on the weekend.
I’ve never had a good experience at this club. I’ve been here several times, if you’re new to Charlotte and trying to have a good time, don’t come here. There has been multiple shootings and it’s unsafe. They close the bathrooms 20 minutes sooner than when the club closes.
Is there a reason that the security is stealing my juice to my vape, lying to my face about it and then giving me my juice back at the end of the night even after I bought a VIP ticket? He wasted my time and had no walking around that club with my flashlight on my phone looking for my juice. I went to the front and told the security I thought that I left it in the security basket and the outdoor security guy came up I didnt take it I didnt take it and I was like I didnt say anybody took anything. He lied and came off defensive bc he took it and then at the end of the night he gave it back to me.When he handed it to me I asked, OMG you found it! Where did you find it? And he retorted dont worry about it, I got it back to you thats what matters. So Im like okay thanks and as Im walking away he says you know youre not supposed to bring that in here right?.. Not supposed to bring it in there?? So he had it the whole time and lied about it, but then upon returning what was mine and then waiting till I was walking awah, he tried to make it an issue of policy!!!Its my right AS AN AMERICAN CITIZEN to carry nicotine products on me Im 29 years old, if its not an illegal substance then nobody has the right to take if from me and then lie about it to my face and have me searching the club for it!BEFORE THAT THE BARTENDERS TRIED TO STEAL MG GALAXY S8 PLUS after I left it on the bar and after liying about having my phone and watching me search for it the entire night they finally handed it over after the crowd was gone. I will never go back here, the staff is thieving and cant be trusted, bartender nor security and thats really sad but its very true. Im tired of having my stuff stolen and being lied to about it by the staff and Im tired of my rights being trampled on as far as vaping goes. The Charlotte underground wouldnt let me bring my vape juice in and let other ppl do it, but at least they were upfront about their policy, but when told that other ppl were vaping and had juice that I had to use bc they had mine they didnt care.
Waited almost an hour to get in Friday and then was told I could not wear my bandanna, with sentimental value, Saturday (that I wore in the night before) and was told I could reclaim it at the door on the way out, but upon leaving they did not have it. Losing faith in this venue. 👎🏻
Music was great. Drinks were great. The artists dont come out until the very end of the night so the club is empty til around 12 ish. The cover charge is too much for a 5 min performance and nowhere to sit unless you spend $300 to $1200 for VIP seating..... Its Charlotte not Las Vegas. There should be a few seats that are complimentary. Women usually wear heels so we like to sit when nobody is there and if your not with a group then the tables are overpriced for 2 people. We did have fun and wanted to go back the next night but my heels werent going to allow me to stand for hours while we waited on people to arrive and the performer to arrive. Too bad because we did want to go back. Its a very nice club also. Just add a few places to sit for people who arent in large groups.
Amazing experience (Tritonal). Line was long, but security team was professional and efficient. Sound, lighting, special effects were on point — I have nothing to complain about and I’ll certainly be back
I purshase a VIP table to see Oscar de Leon whit my family, and we expect to have a very nice experience but it wasnt , we have to make a line for almost 40 minutes to get inside the club ,the tables are supposed to be only for 6 people but the other 3 tables have about 12 people per table,to many for a small area ,so when the concert begins, all this people get in from our table so VIP dont exist anymore, no securities around to put order ,or at least organize this mess ,but the worst part was at the end of the concert ,we cach one of the guests next to our table drinking our liquor, we decided to leave right away to avoid problems, the new management have no idea how to run a night club, we miss Robert , the first owner, ,probably we never go back to this place ,VIP means pay for privacy, we are not special or better than others ,we are just an educated an respectful family who wants to see a good show.
I am really disappointed by how we was treated by the bouncers/security. My friend had a Juul along with hundreds of other people at the venue including one of the DJs. Apparently that is not something you are allowed to have as we were told by security, where he proceeded to confiscate it from her and told us we would get it back at the end of the night like we were in high school and got caught with a cell phone. We tried to ask him if we could just take the pod out but he was adamant about taking the whole thing. He was all but snatching it out of her hand and proceeded to say that he had a bunch of others in his pocket. However, at the end of the night when we went to get it back he proceeded to hand us one without looking and say that it was actually the only one he had in his pocket... it turns out the one he gave her is not even hers and is now malfunctioning. Its ridiculous that they think its okay to take personal property and then decide they dont care enough to make sure they return the right item and/or keep it in decent condition. It ruined her entire night.
I feel like this place is probably worse than label. The service was terrible, over priced drinks, and the atmosphere wasn’t the greatest since they do not do a great job at advertising events. I’d spend my money elsewhere. 5 dollars for a bottle of water?? Seriously?
Ive always enjoyed World.. but they have a cash only bar there now that the Promoters for a party I went to the other wkd did not mention. Wouldve been nice to have a Heads up on the cash bar
Another great night at World. They bring in the top djs in the world and the place is incredible. Only down fall is you have hardly any room on the floor when big names come in. Aoki was packed and last night Flux was packed.
While Tiesto performance was great at end of show security didnt let anyone to use bathrooms and kicked everyone outside. Exact words was go piss oitside, no one have died from itREALLY
Security needs to do a little better with checking people for contraband. Not charging people twice when they paid already.
Absolute garbage. Security is awful, type of people going suck, drinks are watered down, sound system is the worst I have ever heard for a club. How about a few lasers or something more than can lights?!?
Lighting and music are decent. However, $5 for water bottles is ridiculous. No free cup of water. Even giant music festivals such as Ultra have free water.
Nice spot! Good vibe, but drinks were bad. Not sure if they use cheap liquor in name brand bottles.....
When theres a dubstep show, tell your security guards to get out of the center of the dance floor. I got kicked out for barely grazing by one. Preposterous . What do you expect in a moshpit .
Terrible.I hope armin comes back because this place really made his fan base angry. Ive never seen a DJ of this size have to perform somewhere without AC.
Rude staff. Myself and a friend bought VIP and were told to leave after some drunk girls told a bouncer we wouldnt move from our spots. We had been at the same spot all night and had not seen the girls all night. Wont be back.
Always a good time
Was my first time. It was super loud, but thats to be expected I suppose. The atmosphere was pretty cool too. Nice place overall.
Very nice and comfortable night club! Great audio system for the music, dazzling light effects, full bar, and very pretty and lovely ladies working there! 👍🌷❤
Terrible management allows smoking in the club and overpriced for dirty tables and booths. Takes a very long time to even get in to even get your money’s worth.
This venue was awesome. Went to see flux had a ball. I love the setup real intimate not to bigSound was great fun fun fun
Bartenders were ok. Drinks were over priced. Staff outside taking tickets were rude. The only nice thing in the club were the bathrooms.
Leave everything you care about in the car. Security will take your stuff and act like you will have it returned at the end of the night, only to act like they have no clue what happened to it when you return for it. Bunch of shady thieves working at the door
We had a great time at the Ze Neto and Cristiano show.
Great venue with lots of security. My only complaint is they need to have more than one bar
They charged $8 for a water trying to take advantage of underage girls.
Saw meg the stallion here. Super easy VIP access. Lots of fun and a ton of bars inside. Short lines!
DJ kid capri, first of all they was not trying to let me in because I dont have a license, I have a state i.d but it wasnt good enough, we finally got in but it was so crowded, didnt enjoy ourselves. 45$ per person.
5/24/2019 Armin deserved better, we deserved better. Very disappointing. What do you have to say for yourselves?
Ever since it changed over from label it has really taken a turn for the worse. Out of service bathrooms are a regular occurrence, security is inexperienced and over feels grimey.
Good night club great atmosphere unfortunately its always empty because cover fee is ridiculous and expensive drinks expensive they should not be charging a few to listen to an unknown unpopular DJ
Sound system is awful. Drinks are just ok. Staff are pretty friendly but it’s a club/venue seriously invest in the sound system!
Be ready to buy water or drink from the faucet in the bathroom…this place only has water for purchase.
They dont take credit or debit cards on Saturdays, and their ATM has a max of $160. Very frustrating.
No coronas..awful service
Strip search you on the way in. No soap in the bathrooms. Pretend to pour me a drink and then charged me $12 for soda water.
Rules of adminission aren’t communicated anywhere. They will turn you away from the door if you bring and e-cig with you. Cigarettes are okay tho?? 🙄
The venue was nice, it was just too packed and the bartenders were acting like you were asking them for a favor, almost bothered to serve you.
Drinks were horrible just juice Im boycotting THE WORLD
This is an AWESOME venue! Looks higher class, with a casual feel. Staff was fast and kind.
Nice venue, but having to pay to get a cup of water when it used to not be the case sucks.
Beware the VIP is a scam for Orquesta Guayacan there are 2 VIP $55 stand UP No Tables ...the other VIP Not advertised
This place is great in my opinion but be careful on your vip ticket selection because sometimes the 2nd floor is closed
Very nice place. Friendly staff. Well known electronic music DJs. Small and excellent.
Aww man definitely five stars the place was amazing drinks were nice and stiff 💯💯
Got tickets for a band that was supposed to start at 10 and they never came on, we left at 130am. Aggressive bouncers too
I got charged $50 to get in on Saturday 1-11-20 on website was 20 dollars is not right to still money
The only place in the Carolinas to host Best Top 100 DJs !!! EDM family thanks you World!
Excellent atmosphere and professional staff. I always feel safe and have a great time.
I enjoyed being back in Charlotte. City still big and thriving.
Organized, safe club, good sound quality. Hard to order drinks.
Nice spacious venue. Reasonable drinks
Floor space was decent and sound quality is good for shows and concerts
Security was horrible they took my stuff and put it in a box and I never got it back
Very friendly environment for local events and one of the best locations for night life.
Great Time during the 83rd Omega Psi Phi Grand Conclave.
Had a great time. Be sure to have cash there. ATM is antiquated.
It would be a awesome place if you werent immediately kick out for being pushed in the mosh pit
Shows are always oversold which makes for an uncomfortable experience. Never fun
I had all kinds of issues trying to clear a tab from wrong name to total amount owed will not be coming back
Best dance floor in the Charlotte area. Tiesto was awesome to see!
We were there for a concert in July... Staff was very unprofessional..
Terrible management. Over sold tickets. Waiting in line for over an hour AFTER WE PAID FOR TICKETS. Label was never like this.
Solid stage, kind of a long wait to get in but at least it isnt packed shoulder to shoulder inside.
Not a bad EDM spot, kinda miss label thou
Great night club huge area and nice patio out back
Good size. Could get pretty pack some times.
Good place
Tiesto and Aarmin Van Buren. Seperately but still great. Could be a little bigger.
Acoustics are absolutely terrible. Service was good.
Had the time of our lives during the Team Penske championship party.
They bring the best DJs in the world.
Letting in underage kids.
Excellent place to hang out 💯👌
Hot and stuffy. Seen D.M.X . Perform, it was entirely way too hot inside
Went to see Mase from bad boy label .Tone x
Simply the best place to party in charlotte hand down
DMX!! All good, Id come back to party.
Was lit‼️
Its been kind of dead but should pick back up soon
The doors of the world and for everyone Windows ○
Security feels like Im going through the airport.
Fun venue, expensive and mediocre drinks
Lots of eye candy the night I went
Had a blast at the DMX show.
Fantastic place to spend the night in the town.
Nice place to have fun
Great place, okay music.
Very expensive drinks. $9 & $8.
Loved it. Great atmosphere
Nothing positive to say. 1 star is too much
Floor was full of trash beers everywhere
