The Shredder

The Shredder hosts killer shows for touring acts and local artists alike. Hardcore punk and metal bands frequent here. The atmosphere has personality, lots of arcade games, posters, props and weird decorations to look at. They provide free water to guests.Having performed here myself I can say the crew is respectful and great. They treat the artists well.The live sound quality is good but usually mixed loud, so bring earplugs.

Sound dude made the night in this concrete rectangle, badass adjustments were made as he knows the room obviously.$20 to get in, then told once in $10 bar minimum. Grow up and tell patron all fees upon paying to walk into the joint.The Drowns from Seattle rocked, killer punk and the lead guitarist shredded!Cool peeps, good tunes

Absolutely the best place in town for live music. The Shredder is constantly evolving and have introduced many new features over the years. The sound system is top notch, shows are all ages for those under 21, beer is available to those of age, pool table, photo booth, arcade and pinball games, front and back patios, balcony, and more.The environment at the venue is great with lots of Boise memorabilia to look at, vintage signs, artwork, etc. The staff is great and shows are affordably priced (be sure to buy some merch from the bands so they spread the word that Boise is a supportive scene and are encouraged to come back in the future!)Highly recommended venue!

Best experience in Boise. Such a small setting makes it feel super huge, youre right in the action. Plus a cool little pit but hella respectful. Please tip your bartenders. 🤘🤘🤘 Stay Vile

Venue sells tickets from websites that employees are to dumb to honor...Entire venue is small, cramped and smell like urine which is pretty explainable if you have ever walked into the bathroom..The entire staff is old people who are inept to the tech thats needed to do their jobs, the ones not using tech are crusty old men pedophiling it up with the kids in there..Literally the worst venue ive been to in 11 state, i would be ashamed to be its owner and the place should be closed

They host some awesome punk and ska concerts here. Tiny little place, but the shows here are so much fun I love when one of the bands I like is playing here.

Great bar for live music and inexpensive beers. Music tends to the heavy end of the spectrum.

Going to the Shredder has been some of the best experiences Ive had with my teenage kids. They have been able to experience their first metal and punk concerts while also being able to skateboard and play video games between sets. Of course, I nostalgically enjoy the old 80s video games too, especially the pinball machines upstairs. The staff are super cool and have become friends of mine over the years. At this point, I cant imagine my life without the Shredder.

Was a good time bands that I seen were decent others were on point, for that kind of venue they Nailed it!! Staff was friendly bathrooms .... honestly I didnt use. All in all good time

Decent all age small venue with great vibe, but if youre choosing between vip and general admission, opt for the general admission.I bought vip tickets for me and my kid, which were supposed to include early entry and a poster of the event.When we arrived we were denied early entry. Apparently the headlining band had their own vip thing going and the house vip tickets didnt count for anything. We were told we had to wake outside like everyone else. We also didnt receive any poster as advertised. Payed $50 a tick and received the same experience as a $17 ticket.So if you find yourself here, go for the general admission tickets. Youll get the same experience and save yourself a chunk of change.

Great all ages mid-size venue with old school arcade games and a half pipe for skaters. Above average sound system and lighting. Awesome local owner who has supported local bands for years. I’ve seen quite a few bands here, local, national and international. If you want to be up close and personal with the band or like just hanging back and watching the show, this place is it. SUPPORT LOCAL!

Im honesty surprised this place has an average of 4.4 stars. I dont know if the sound guy just doesnt know what theyre doing, or if they just dont care but every single show ive ever been to here, the sound guy makes them sound horrible. Im friends with people in several local bands and none of them ever want to say anything about the quality of the audio. Its sad i wont go see any of my friends play nor will i check out traveling bands if they are playing here because my ears get blown out. Please please please for the sake of the scene, make some changes guys. I came to the show on monday after not coming for well over a year to see if it changed and it hasnt even during the show several people were complaining about the sound quality.The people who run the bar are always cool as hell though.

Drove all the way from Montana to see one of my favorite bands, they did not disappoint and neither did the shredder. Such a sick venue with great vibes and friendly people. 5/5 would drive 7 hours again!

I have been here multiple times over the years and have always had a blast! The variety of bands that The Shredder brings to town is amazing. They completely support the local music scene and more. I have even attended a wedding at this venue! I truly miss the good times I have had here and hopefully we have more to come...

I’ve seen a hip hop, punk, and metal show all in the same month. The entertainment this venue books is so broad, something for everyone! Great price beers, lots of fun arcade games! Plenty of space in their back patio + mini ramp. Bring your board.

Always love the Shredder! Always full of good energy, great bands / local artist. They have a back open patio for smokers or just some quick fresh air. I Definitely recommend for anyone who likes a fun smaller venue!

I photograph the bands here frequently and I love this venue more than any other local venue because the staff here really rocks! Super great people.

If you want a dive bar that doesn’t feel like hepatitis is creeping in, here you go. It’s kitschy in the 80’s nostalgic sense. Pretty cool atmosphere and decent sound. Half pipe in the back and arcade games all around, mostly small, local shows but those are always the best. Just what you need to have a great time.

Best bathrooms in the Treasure Valley. Oh, and I saw some cool bands here too!

Only went once, it wasnt a good experience. Watched a band not have their guitarist because the system wasnt working. The audio is horrible. Cant hear the vocals because the trebble is so high. Speakers are sub par. Too bad the venue isnt ran different. It might be a cool place. There better venues out there for music.

A great venue to catch local, regional, as well as national and international touring acts. For a rock bar, the place is always clean and well run. Im looking forward to catching many more shows here.

I saw Fleeting Confidence here and they were genuinely phenomenal. Glad this place exists, cool venue, nice people and great bands.

Be very careful with this company. I was supposed to receive a refund for one of their shows and they ended up putting the blame on the ticket company instead of themselves (while they were very clearly in the wrong). Ended up getting scammed out of roughly $45. Just be weary of this company, Id recommend sticking to other more honest and trustworthy venues in the greater Boise area.

Hands down best rock venue in town. This place is an integral part of the Boise extreme music scene. Good beer, sweet arcades, half pipe, its got it all.

Went to the Hunks show it was very unorganized from the very beginning . The show was supposed to be from 8 to 10 it did not start till almost 8:40 , there was not seating you had to stand to watch the show so you literally could not see . There was way too many people for the size of the building fire marshal shouldve been called for overcrowding. I would not recommend this place or the show.

One of the coolest places I’ve played across the entire country. There’s a halfpipe and a bunch of arcade games, so the vibe is absolutely like its namesake in TMNT (1990)

Paid for a show that I was never able to watch because they over sold. Spent an hour in line, while it rained, only to never get in. When we asked for a refund the guy told us to find the owner.

Got kicked out of our vip seats for general admission standing room. They over booked and people who paid 3x more money for VIP had to suffer for it.
