I actually had a really good experience with the staff here. Came for an event and showed up in costume. All the staff was super respectful and even helped store my equipment safely while on the floor. The music isnt 100% my scene, but that the type of music they play. If you dont like the music, go somewhere else.Again, the staff was great and I appreciate their support and keeping the place safe.
This venue is marketed really well and their website/photos are quality, but the actual experience is kind of underwhelming. We weren’t let in to our concert at the posted time; it was late and too cold to have that many guests waiting. The staff was not apologetic or considerate of that. The overall atmosphere inside was underwhelming, although it was really clean and I give the venue props for that. I just wish it had a different set up to accommodate the talent booked there, and a more welcoming/efficient staff.
This place could be great if their service wasnt so terrible. Their bartenders are rude and dont know how to make drinks. We had wristbands on and they were giving us drinks with literally drops of alcohol with the rest of the glass filled with soda. The wristbands were good for basically sodas, and then when we finished our drinks so quickly, they were upset we kept coming back. The guy was very rude with me when it was minutes to the end of the wristbands, almost like he didnt want to give me another drink. Dont offer wristbands if your not going to give the proper amount of drinks or alcohol content.
We had a guest in from out of town and wanted to show them how great Chicago nightlife is. $60 to sit outside in 32 degree weather for over an hour. Great bouncers! Will not be coming back until summer at the earliest
Great music, good producers come here quite often but the place is crammed to the bone when they have a good show. The bouncers arent that bad, but all the bar tenders are pretentious and entitled. The bar is very expensive and they are stingy with the alcohol. I would recommend they take the vip area in the middle of the club out and make that the dance floor, that alone would make the atmosphere of the club 20x better.. other than that its just your typical Chicago club crowd. nothing special really.
Had a lot of fun at this club with the Dutch duo Sick Individuals. Club is well kept and atmosphere is good. The sound was way, way too loud though. It is adviseable to take ear protection. I was very glad I had some with me and the fun is not any less, at least not for me :-)
My girlfriends and I took a cab there on Saturday night. We are from Michigan and were told we should check it out. We arrived really late (around 4) hoping to get last call. First we were talked to really rude by one of the Security guards. However he told us he was going to let us in free. There was another security guard with him who actually was pretty decent. The first security guard came back about 3-5 minutes later and said $10 each. Really?? what changed in a few minutes that now you what $10 each? Seemed awfully shady. Probably best anyways, if they treat there patrons like that I cant imagine what type of crowd was inside. Thanks but no thanks.
Read other reviews. If you RSVP for free tickets, be sure to get there early. Barcode wont scan after 11:30, be prepared for lines. Cover $20. DJ was great and club very clean. Bouncers did their job well, helpful, not rude. Pre-game a lot before. Drinks all over $10 and weak. You pay per shot, not total drink so bill adds up quick. Dress code casual-dressy. There was a wide range.
Drinks are very affordable. ton of people here. Not the type of business that holds a big line outside to give the appearance they are popular and busy, only to get in and realize its actually kind of empty. This place is always packed. Highly recommend if you like big party atmospheres.
First time at The Mid and a nightclub in general. Came here to see Dash Berlin and was not disappointed. Got there early(bit too early to be honest) but the time definitely flew by as the night went on. The staff were generally very friendly. The drink prices are pretty high(22 dollars for two shots) so make sure you go after payday. The establishment/dance floor is really small and feels smaller when a lot of people show up. Those stupid VIP booths take up half the space... other than that this is not a bad place to have fun on a Friday or Saturday night.
Everything I dread about blandly trendy clubs. I was enticed to see a show here by a low cost ticket to see a DJ Ive enjoyed for years. $10 to get in the door but then they crammed everyone into a tiny space downstairs while leaving a circle of cushy couches in the middle that required buying bottle service. Of course, bottle service cost a few hundred to a few thousand dollars. This place caters to a handful of incredibly rich clients and seems to care very little for anyone else. Stay away.
Great place for a cheap show for some big name DJs. The bar can be a bit pricey which makes sense on why the shows are cheap. It is 21+ so prepare to show ID. If you want to catch a free show, just make sure that you make reservations and arrive early. I would park a block down for free parking. Enjoy!
This place is like a bomb shelter with no windows and load EDM. Im not really impressed at all with the venue The dance music is good but my dancing years are behind me. I guess that is a sign of age. I did read though that most dance clubs are hurting. The kids arent dancing anymore and I totally understand. Do you know how hard it is to post socially while youre actually dancing. So the kids have no time for that.It is a dance club so if youre looking to get your booty on the dance floor than this is the place. You will definitely find a crowd in here the later it gets. I do recommend an escape plan. A line of taxis will be waiting outside at closing time. I do not recommend walking around here at 2am because the streets can be lonely and rough.
I can’t believe how bad the door staff behaved on my visit here last night. There was a Halloween contest, the door man giving the costume bracelets was completely inappropriate and clear he was taking out his unhappiness with his own life on everyone around him.My friend wanted to go here because they had a costume contest... when she asked the doorman for a contest bracelet he told her “I am not going to give a bracelet, plus don’t worry there’s way better costumes than yours” We were completely shocked as we thought he was joking in a tasteless way of some sort. This was after he told another one a my friends to “get the F$&k out of my face” a few minutes earlier. What business owner would have someone like this representing them and their business????We immediately left without a refund on our entrance/$80 for the four of us. We did speak to the manager as we exited and he tried to defend the door guy... if you read other reviews you will see many complaints on the door staff. These owners need to take a hard look at the staff representing them.
Had rsvp tickets for free admission until 11:30. Arrived at 11:15 and was told we could not enter and to wait in one of the lines. Had to wait until 12:00 and when we went to enter was told that we now had to re-buy tickets for $20 each. Instead we quickly bought tickets on the website for $10 each. They dont follow the rules stated on the tickets. Let bouncers decide the rules so plan accordingly. Additionally, they should not sell free tickets if they are not going to honor.
The air cannons may be overly loud and there may not be enough space to dance as free as Id like to but i used earplugs the last time i went and had a really awesome time. I swear most nightclubs have girls carrying around those fire sparkling drinks so that shouldnt be a reason to give this place a low rating. They also had free water bottles everywhere which was a Huge plus. I also didnt get kicked out for yelling a ton and being overly plyometric so that was good.
Worst venue Ive been too, and Ive been to quite a few. Its completely overpriced, overbooked and under done. Every time I went into the bathroom security was peeping between the cracks or looking over, screaming at some guy or confiscating his drugs. Theres absolutely no room to actually dance and as for the DJ sets? No effort to actually made it look good, just some cheap strobe and pattern lights about you. Support your artist, DONT support the mid in Chicago.
Drove 45 minutes to a Halloween costume contest they were having. Waited in line outside for 20 minutes. Paid $20.00 to get in to find out after entering you had to have a wrist band to be in the contest and they had already ran out. Asked the doorman then the manger about it and theyt were very rude. Before I could speak theytinstantly responded with youre not getting your money back! What a scam! They could have told the people waiting they needed a wrist band and they were out. I would have gone elsewhere.
Ive been to the Mid plenty of times and loved it, then last night 10/23, I buy one beer and one water and the bartender charges me $50. She claimed I bought 4 more drinks which is completely false. I will never go back to that venue again. Thanks Mid for stealing from your customers.
Always good djs, and many times DJs Im super into. I love the bouncers there, the drinks are kind of pricey, but being a female, thats not really an issue. Most clubs only stay open until 2 so I really like that it stays open until 4 and 5. I have never had to pay cover to get in, so get to know a promoter and use their password for free entry. The century room (VIP) plays more mainstream music thats remixed, but it has rained money on me twice so I cant complain at all.
Some people have real beef with The Mid, but every time Ive gone its been a good time. Youll find some pretty good DJs here for a more than fair price. Drinks are typically priced for the club scene in Chicago, water is $5 which I think is ridiculous. But its not enough to ruin my night. I would recommend this place!
Top notch talent is about all this place has going for it. Was not too impressed with the run down venue, and the obviously lacking lights and sound. The only lights were wash lights and afew rotating heads.. maybe a strobe panel or 2.. the sound was eh... u could hear people chanting over the music being played! The dancefloor is small, but the vibes were decent. An 8 to 12 oz bottle of water is 5 bucks.. I saw my favorite DJ here, and at soundbar a different year, and at soundbar the overall experience was incredible.. The place felt like it really POPPED.. At the mid, it was pretty mediocre overall.. a club experience is a lot more than the best DJs coming through. Wish they would give these big names the venue they deserve..Would think twice about coming back!
Great space and always have the best musicians. Would give it a 5 star but their security takes their job way to seriously and they overpack it. You cant enjoy yourself when someone is constantly shining a flashlight on you every 5 minutes.
Went to free event and ask for a drink the female bartender refuse to provide me a drink that wasnt iced down. She was on her phone and had the worst attitude. Went to 2 other bars within the place and my experience was great. Typical club no frills.
I dont quite understand some of the bad reviews of this place. I happened to have quite a nice time when I came for ATB last year. Sound was great, plenty of strobe lights and such for the experience, and the staff was friendly and professional. Yes, it was crowded, but so are most nightclubs...
I like it. A perfect venue to catch some great touring DJs. Gets dense with sold-out shows. But typically people are cool and realize it is what it is. That being said,if you dont act right the mid will bounce youright out. Ive never had a problem, and i appreciate the mids vigilance to ensuring a good time for the overall.
The bouncer are racist they kicked us out for sitting for 3 minutes. We even had a tabel. Wasted our 800$ on this place. Defently deserve a 1 star. Dont waste your money in this place. The bouncer took our drinks out of our hands which we paid for. He started to push us for no reason.I just wish I had has his name. I would not give them anymore bussiness just cuz of this. Need to boycott this place.
This venue was TERRIBLE! so sad I wasted my time and money coming here. The staff was extremely rude from the moment I arrived. Saw one staff member move paying customers out of the way so he could stand and take pictures of the musicians on stage. Also, ladies beware. This place attracts creeps who think its ok to put their hands on women. The staff was no help in this matter, too busy breaking up drunk fights to help. Seriously, skip this place and check out one of the other fine venues in chicago.
They do get the top Djs to play aftershows at this place which always makes for a fun night. Only problem is that the place is so popular it gets too packed downstairs that you literally cant move in the place. Can be tough to get a drink at times. My advice: post up at a spot along the railing upstairs and enjoy the show from above and have easier access to the bar that way.
Hands down worst venue Ive ever been to. Staff was incredibly rude, if youre not on the guest list or buying a bottle for a grand you should probably go elsewhere. If they are selling tickets to an event you definitely shouldnt go because they only occasionally honor tickets.
Very disappointed with this venue. Came all the way from Detroit to see Julian Jeweil and Popof. They were great but the venue was subpar for their talent. Incredibly trashy crowd, very uncomfortable vibe, felt like i was being judged just for having a good time....The one star reviews are pretty much spot on. Also that steam gun is incredibly tacky.
The downstairs part of the club gets extremely packed. but, hey this is a nightclub and you will get squished. i felt the sound couldve been better and not enough strobes / lasers. if i come back i hope they improve on that aspect of the club
They get good acts so if you wanna see them sometimes youre foreced to got to the mid. But this place is the worst. Horrible staff that treat people without respect. Lots of favors paid while others get screwed out of entering the building. Very stuck up and snoody vibe. Avoid it unless you cant.
This is the place where all suburbanite kids who rage at Congress come as soon as they turn 21. Almost like a Zero Gravity for adults. Now thats not too say I havent seen great shows / dj sets there, they do a solid job of booking good acts but its so small and so douche it really hampers the night. I want space to dance not grind. Drinks are expensive and they charge for water. Sound system is good. Most nights you can get in free with RSVP or password early enough. You will wait in line tho and drinks will be spilled.
I dont get the hate- the bouncers will be rude if you show up drunk. If you try to start a fight, or try to go Backstage they will be rude. Or take a drink out to the smoke pit. Other than that this club gets great DJs... And for the price you guys should be lucky! Stays open till 4... Has a back section upstairs if you dont like the DJs downstairs- What more could you want? Being new to the city this is the only club that compares to anything in Cali or Canada. Find me some other club thats not full of people and staff looking down at people, perched high up sitting on sticks up their a$$. Name me better clubs. Ill check them all it and write a real review
This club had a lot of questionable people at it, and people kept coming to our table that were not supposed to be there. At the end of the night 3 guys were around our table and one of our phones were stolen. Its a sketchy club atmosphere. I wouldnt recommend leaving and valuables around, as there are people looking to steal anything they can.
Ive come here many times.Vallet for $10 is nice. You can RSVP on their site to get in for free before 11:30 unless there is a big name playing (even then you can sometimes still do it). After 11:00 there starts to get to be a big line out front, which until 1 is most likely them just trying to keep people out there so it looks like a happening place. Maybe they need another person at the door to get people in there and drinking sooner. The warmup DJs often play some crappy stuff, even up til 1 AM. I feel like most people are just going along with it politely trying to have a good time, but the DJs could definitely be playing more party music. Unless the headliner is Techno or Deep House, just play Vocal House/Dubstep/Mashups/Remixes, thats what people want to hear. Headliners usually come on at 1:30 and are really good.I would estimate that The Mid has more big name DJs than any other club in Chicago and if you look at their past events, almost everyone has played there in the 2 years theyve been open.Drinks are reasonably priced and good. There are some places to sit down early in the night, but they usually fill up with bottle service. The crowd tends to be younger with a lot of hipsters and young people on Fridays. There tend to be a lot of single guys that stand around the dance floor area, which I guess is probably typical. The only thing I dont like about The Mid is that on Fridays and Saturdays, they have at least half, if not two-thirds of the dance floor area taken up by VIP tables. This makes the remaining dance floor super-packed and unpleasant to even be in, and forget about dancing. The bar areas on the side also get pretty backed but wouldnt be much fun to stand around in even if they werent packed. Its hard to get a drink or even get around inside the place when its busy. Count on your shoes getting stepped on.If the place wasnt super-packed because of the VIP tables, I probably wouldnt go anywhere else. (Maybe they could charge more at the door to make up for lost bottle revenue? - 100% margin guys) Because its so crowded, Ill only go if its a big name or something I really want to see. Fridays will usually be less crowded and I went on a Thursday once and that wasnt too bad.
We went there to see Marshmellow, and it was one of the worst experiences. He didn’t go on until 2:40 a.m., and only played for an hour! I paid over a hundred dollars for two tickets and felt like it was a total waste of my time and money. His music was subpar at best, I’m not even sure if it was Marshmellow. Bottom line, the music wasn’t good, and it was a waste of our night out. I don’t think I’ll be going back to the Mid.
From the Northern Burbs and when we decide to go out downtown this is one of our favorite places to go. We recently saw Excision here for a Lalapalooza after-party and it was crazy! It was almost like a private dj set/party! Its a small venue, including the dance floor, that has some ridiculous real estate devoted to a VIP area (contributes to 4 star rating (why not put them up on a section of the balcony?))... BUT, no club is perfect . We have always had a good time here, and will continue to see our favorite artists here.
Left my coat in coat check number 798 on Friday night of the Deorro show. Didn’t get a chance to grab it on the way out as the line was 5 hours long. came back Saturday and they said they don’t have the jacket. Where could it have gone? Call and no answer. No wonder this place is shutting down. Bunch of sleazy scum working there. Change my mind, find my coat #798 from last Friday.
Soooo trashy. Atmosphere is out dated, acoustics are horrible, and bar tenders are slow and inexperienced. Staff is paid minimum wage and you can tell they hate their jobs. Soooo many other places to go in Chicago that are actually worth your money.
This place is Sure Fun on the weekends and event nights.Yolie and her gfs are the best bar tenders.Great sound system, ample bathroom space and just enough dance floor to meet your flavor.
It was an incredible time. The acts that are booked there are always the top in their genre. The crowd can be a little overwhelming at times but i feel like that is because it is the place to be. I would highly reccomend a Friday night at The Mid Chicago nightclub.
Came here for porter Robinson after party, security was little tough. Saw them tell people to move upstairs when they clearly have seats in the bathroom lobby, seems a little ass backwards. But I enjoyed it. Okay layout, no real production but I kind of like that because the focus is on the music.
The Mid says they have no dress code but allows their security guards to use the dress code excuse to selectively kick out anyone they dont like. I was aggressively apprehended by three security for wearing a tasteful but gender-non-conforming look. Similar stories have happened to others I know. The Mid needs to own up to these discriminatory and aggressive practices.
Went here on friends request getting more than expected after waiting in line(not long thou)It was DJ Sultans performance and dance floor was electrically energetic. My ratings are as per that one visit.
First and last time at this place. My wifes cousin had gotten a table and they mistakenly let two people in that used our table. We were unable to get our friends in who had paid for the table. We were treated as people trying to sneak extra people in. The guys at the front were disrespectful and we ended up leaving the club after arguing for an hour. My wife was in tears and they didnt care. This club owes us for money wasted on a table that wasnt used by our whole group.
Pricey admission to be bossed around by overzealous security guards. They make you follow every dumb rule. Wanna go to the bathroom? Give up your $10 drink. Some people in line were turned away with legit ids that only looked suspicious. Be warned: they often TAKE YOUR ID if they think its fake. I saw it happen. When they asked for their ids back, they were threatened by an armed security guard. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE.
The bottle service couch section taking up the entire middle of the room ruins this club. The placement of the square couch area in the middle makes traffic flow congested around the edges and in the front, where there is no longer much of a dance floor. When the Chicago Fire Department issued this place a capacity of 801, did it have the couch section installed? If not, the capacity of the venue should be reduced to reflect the fact that they made a significant portion of the floor unavailable to 98% of the occupants. There should be an investigation in this regard. Not to mention, every time the jerks in bottle service order a bottle, the girls carry it out with a flaming, spark shooting firework fountain attached, which pollutes the entire place with the smell of fireworks and presents a potential fire hazard. If there is no smoking inside Chicago bars, smoke-producing pyrotechnics should also be illegal (maybe they are, I dont know). Just ridiculous.
Lousy sound system. Drinks were decent and staff was solid. Douchy bottle service male machismo oriented crowd. But we saw Matador who was awesome... his only appearance in the U.S. this year.
They have the best performers. But please do something about the girl to guy ratio. Too many cocks around.Tip - Buy your ticket onlineMuch easier and convenient.
Worst experience ever! I used their valet parking service, and on my way out my purse was missing along with a 50 dollar gift card I had in the glove box. I confronted them right away and they said their people would never do that and that I probably left it in the club. I will never again use valet service anywhere, especially there. Can’t believe my purse got stolen! Do not valet your car at The Mid!
The Mid had a concert that said it started at 10pm. The first act, which was NOT advertised, went from 10pm to midnight. Then, the actual first act went on at 12am, which by that time, my patience was running thin. I ended up waiting 2 hours to see an act I actually paid for. The start time was very misleading, probably to make you stay longer. I wish they advertised what times the bands actually went on.
The music is great but the security is beyond extremely rude. Its loud and hard to hear anything. The tall, thin, security guard with a buzzcut began swearing at my friend when she couldnt hear what he said. If youre unhappy with your job, work somewhere else.
Music was good bartender was horrible my girl was wasted after after a night of drinking I asked the guy not to serve her anymore drinks he looked at me looked at her and did it anyway I would think he would have used common sense but what can expect from an idiot Whos THIRSTY!! For Tips.
I was a little nervous of coming here after reading some of these reviews. Ended up going anyway and had an absolutely incredible time. Great talent, great lighting/fx setup, if you need a place to see some top acts and absolutely throw down then youre home.
1. Blocked sightlines2. Terrible layout3. Sound is mediocre at best (electronic)4. Stage is laughable for a tier 1 city in the US5. Staff was nice6. Coat check was a disaster7. Suasage fest8. Bathrooms a disaster9. Somehow mangages to book serious talent10. Looks nothing like the pictures
Somehow manage to always get the best DJs to come here. If you like the DJ, its definitely worth it. But, not someone I would make my regular weekend hangout spot.
Saw Green Velvet play here, amazing! Then saw Farley Jackmaster Funk, mind blowing! And now planning to go to The Chosen Few House Music Fest this July. Take Uber/Lyft, paying for parking near the venue sucks.
Im past the regular clubbing stage of my life, but I have been here once for Nightmares on Wax. I was very surprised by how small the club is considering they host some of the biggest DJs on a regular basis. On the weekends, if you didnt pre buy tickets, I wouldnt bother even waiting in line after midnight, it basically doesnt move.
Went on a friday, not so great, people in demin shorts and gymshoes 0_o ...and the main room was i think Nigerian music, which was cool, but definitely not our scene :/ . We have to try again on a Saturday.
The door guy called me a f#%# cheap Latin because I asked for a refund after 2 minutes in. I get that some parties have their crowd but this is an ok place and management being more than rude makes it trash. Dont go there this Bartolomé doorman, probably a fake name since he chickened out when I called the cops, should be fired and hired at a crack house, the only crowd that can stand this level of trashiness.
This place is bad, my friend and I got kicked out for being “too drunk” even tho we weren’t that drunk. Also the main artist we wanted to see didn’t go on till 1 and we got there at 10, kinda wish they gave out the times for different artists 🙄
The music in here is always fantastic, the atmosphere is great, I always bump into fun people and the PBR is cheap which keeps the night cheap compared to other nightclub nights. A bit of a pain to get to and from on public transport though
All of my Mid experiences involve North Coast Music Festival, great venue for the 2011 Toast of the Coast Play in Competition and came back for the late night after parties after the Fest! Cool clubby feel to the venue, but the sound wasnt that great.
They told me my dress code wasnt proper, and instead of translating whats wrong with it, they started to be rude. That was my first and a last time up there. Btw 10 mins later I went to another club, even more elegant than this one and they let me in without any questions
This spot is definitely trying to fill the void after the close of Crobar. Despite not being Crobar, they still bring in some great names, have a good sound system and a decent light show. The crowd is younger, but if you are there to hear the dj, you just learn to deal with it
Worst service I have ever received. They will charge you excessive amounts on “gratuity” when you’ve already paid hundreds of dollars. The management also waters down all of their drinks and treat girls inappropriately. Take my word - NEVER EVER visit the MID.
Can I give half a star ? This was the worst club ever. They would barely let a bachelorette party in, and even when they did staff was incredibly rude with super long wait times that werent worth it. Would not recommend, except for douche bags...
Didnt find it so amusing , the DJ was bad that day and the wanna ne security guards everywhere freaks you out. And the coat place to hang your coats charges 4$ per coat cash only.
They sold me a ticket online, and when I show up to the venue I cant even get in theyve over sold their show with ppl at the door and online. Worst part is they wont even refund me my money... This is a horrible business that is basically scamming people and then doesnt take responsibility for themselves.. I DONT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE..
I had a great time. The staff and performers were great every time Ive went. Good vibes all around
Service is good but this Saturday night music was really bad. We have really high expectations since weve been here before on saturday night. We spend around $400. So far it not good time
The worst customer service ever. Asked to speak to a manager and waited 45 mins ik the cold and didnt even talk to me. Bouncer allowed to step outside and they demanded me to re pay for cover. Bouncers there are rude.
Great club to go to... Not my first choice for bottle service as the staff on the side had bad attitudes 2 out of the last 3 times we went and we but 2-3 bottles when we go... They also never seem to have the same staff and never remember your name.
Its Great I went to see Hot Since 82 UK dj. If you want to check it out go soon looks like the wrecking ball is coming closes Feb 2019 just the word
Super packed. The upstairs bar is the spot though. Plenty of room to dance bartenders were good too. Overall a hot spot.
Its bad nightClub! Because over there only Mexican guys. Bad sound and not fresh air. We are was there fourth people and paid 20$ each! Total 80$! They dont have system re-enter
They book great acts but be sure to cover your drinks diligently or someone may slip you something.
The most rude bartenders I have EVER encountered. I know dealing with drunk party-goers might be tough but its their job! They must seriously hate their job.
Had a great experience every time. Music is great depending on the night, not a huge fan on the dress code but still good.
Good venue for EDM lovers and they bring different types of EDM not just one genre. I drive from Elkhart Indiana almost every week to escape reality here!
If you like the clubbing crowd then this the place to go drink prices are moderate staff is really helpful and nice and the music is great for a weekend of dancing.
One of the top clubs in the US. Not as upscale as other clubs. I find it rather stuffy and dirty but they have top notch DJs coming in.
Saw moby at the mid over spring awakening weekend. the mid was awesome. moby was eh. they did a great job managing the crowd and there was free heineken in the beginning
Fun bar with house music. The place was packed and the crowd was loving the music.Had a pretty great atmosphere overall.
Nearly the entire floor area is taken up by bottle service lounge, everyone else is forced to cram in around the very small area in front and around the sides. I will never return to this venue.
I live across the street from this club and it is always packed! The entertainment here is to die for. And the after parties they throw here, after music festivals make waiting in line always worth it!
Horrible place music on saturday Night didnt make any sense just loud noises... and they over charge at the door 30$ for that horrible place its ridicules
Easily the worst club Ive ever been too. There wasnt much that was right with this place. I suggest staying away like its the plague.
I consider my experience with The Mid incredibly negative, and I will avoid recommending it to my friends and customers, Im sorry to say, especially because of my interactions with Staff and Security.
Big names every week, super cheap, awesome bartender, down the block....yea, youll see me there at least once a week...maybe every night, its been done.
Music was great but something that annoyed was, you cant come out once you get in. I went out for a minute so I can get some fresh air but was asked to pay $20 again to get in.
At entrance security was idiotic, taking money from ppl to charge something that is not supposed to be charged. Leting girls just like that, and other ppl waiting outside...
First time going, was outside waiting in 10 degree weather for about 20-25 mins and security didnt seem to care one bit so I had to leave after we werent let in.
This is one big place with 3 bars (not 3 different dj booth/bars ). way overpriced for the EDM music that they play the whole night.
Awesome DJs, attractive girls and decent drinks. Late night bar so perfect for a 1am stop in. Get ready for some clubbin!
This place sucks. bad music, bad staff most the bar tenders are coked up people getting coked up in the bathrooms the workers even sale coke. Never again
JASON AND JOELLE ARE THE WORST. never experienced worst security than at this venue with these two guards. Horrible service. Do not recommend. Do not come here.
My friend and I called twice and both of us put in table reservations about a week ago and not one person called us back for our event with 50+ guest.
I only go because they get all the good shows. The venue on the other hand sucks.
Great music! Great DJs...but your prices are expensive! Your crowd and atmosphere is terrible!
Great music and nice place mondays are crowded and best security people drinks prices kinda high
If this place didnt get amazing DJs, Id never go here. The staff is beyond rude and that changes the whole experience.
This is my favorite club in Chicago - they always bring through the best artists and the drinks are strong.
Small and intimate. My kind of party. Drinks are reasonably priced. Had a blast!
The djs here tonight were absolute garbage!!! Nobody was dancing, and it was just unpleasant mixes, TOTAL GARBAGE!!
Fun place to get down! Bartenders are super fast with getting drinks out even when its busy!
I have been going to the Mid for years, you can always count on great music, friendly but firm staff, and a great atmosphere.
Best club in town. Shame its closed now. So many great memories with randos and friends. Youll be missed!!
Not a club person but got dragged to go here. Way too crowded and u could smell people smoking in there.
I have enjoyed every visit to the Mid for several years. Top notch DJs every week!
Really enjoy myself here, drinks are always made correctly & always a packed show.
Saw Baauer here for the North Coast after party. Place was a bit small but it was super lit. I enjoyed myself there.
Great crowd, sweet venue, drinks are pricey but good!
They charge you for $3.00 for ice if you want a drink on the rocks. Horrible place to charge for ice in a beverage.
It would be nice to have a seating area you dont need to pay extra for.
Place was a dump. Hit its prime like 10 years ago, and now is struggling to stay relevant. #posers
Drinks are a little pricey but the sound system is fantastic
The worse experience I have ever encountered bad service waitress had no idea what they served and they charged us items we didnt order and charged us as soon as we ordered not at the end of the bill who does that ???? Do not go to this place !
Top DJs always find their way here. The hype is real. The doormen not so much.
Great line ups but I wish the venue itself was a little better.
Trash. Wish I can rate it zero stars. Worse nightclub ever. Don’t waste your time here.
Stupidest nightclub I ever visited. Staff is very rude. Awful experience. Wouldnt suggest it to anyone.
Drove down from minneapolis for an edm event, huge lines and got turned down for one person in our group having exposed shoulders.
This place used to be good! Now it smells like weed and all that dubstep is stupid
There is a reason why this club ranked number 40 in the top 100 of best nightclubs in the world
Forcing us to buy bottles in order to get in. They were making us play triple the cost of the ticket.
I had great experience. Good for dancing DJ IS GOOD.
Gets 4 stars because they always host my favorite artists - venue needs some updating
World class Chicago nightclub, nice place to party and see worlds top DJs & Artists.
Awful venue. Rudest security in the world. Bad floors for dancing. $10/shot of non-well whiskey..
This place rocks my socks off! If you like to party, this is the place to do it!
The drinks are good price, good staff, everyone is friendly.
Long wait for drinksRude staffGreat musicNo room to get your groove on
Saturday nights is where its at. Friday is decent, Every other day is weird
Good music. Can be a lil pretentious but has amazing acts and shows
Put the v.i.p section upstairs it relly sucks having it right in the middle,no room to move, stand or dance
Have had quite a few great times out here. So sad to see it closing.
Nice place. The bouncers do thier job well.
Over sell when any good DJ hosts a show.
Really bad place!!! Dont ever go there! Its a horrible place!
Rough behavior of bouncers. Dont treat the people right. Not visiting again.
Fun place, big names and good looking crowd.
Very small and packed. The drinks were good.
I got charged $5 for a water. I think that says it all.
Bouncers take cash to let you into event, then kick you out
The worst place I was on. I felt like I was at the skate board competition.
Nicky Romero and Calvin Harris were awesome
Great sound system, staff and bartender!!!
Rude bouncers (guessing thats standard everywhere), but pretty happenin inside.
Never go back ride staff and security was letting ladies before guys
Great music. Fun crowd

The customer service is phenomenal!!! Love the mid.
Not my first choice in a night out. Its actually my last choice.
This place sucks. Not the old MID back in the day. Music sucks.
Useless place to go no one should even bother waisting there time and money here
Not yet sure if its like this every night, going to be passing on this place!
Awesome club with a nice sound system.
This place is a joke, starting from getting in to being crushed inside and horrible drinks.
Had a good time there once

Great Above and Beyond after party!!
Worst venue in Chicago for many reasons.

Great place to rage your face off.
Not even sure what to say. Love/hate relationship for sure.
