One of the top nightlife spots in Boston, The Grand sits atop the Scorpion Restaurant & Bar on the 3rd floor with a Vegas style atmosphere including a large VIP table footprint with world class Function One sound, a mesmerizing LED wall, and high end decor. Our friend and local legend Kaeno took us here on a show night to get a taste of the local club atmosphere and it was certainly lively with the dance floor filling up within 30 minutes of doors, and the room by midnight saw the bar side standing room completely filled.Beverage prices for 2x double vodka drinks rang in around $60, and the staff from the bottle service to security to bar were elegantly dressed and certainly hand picked for not only their professional service and skill but also their attractive physique.
Went for the first time this weekend and was initially impressed with the venue. My group eventually became frustrated because despite arriving early, some of us weren’t allowed back on the dance floor after getting drinks or using the bathroom. Half of us gave up even trying which made us leave earlier than planned. Not sure if I’d recommend.
The indoor architecture of this establishment encourages an unreal crowdpush that is, regardless of the event pricing, not worth it if you dont have a stomach for physical crowds. When it comes to specifics, I would need to draw attention to the staff, who are rude and and physical, but at the same time I cannot blame this type of behavior because it is the very design of the floor space that requires this type of conduct. On the bright side, drinks are cheaper than the average here in Boston!
Venue itself was in a nice spot but there are definitely some issues; I read some other reviews that the staff were rude/pushy and thought it wouldn’t be too bad. It was, in fact, too bad.Getting shoved by security while trying to walk to the bar, being told that the area we’re standing is not acceptable despite plenty of people standing there. The smaller bar had only 1 bartender and the wait for a drink was 25min+.Not worth the price for the drinks or the music (speakers were not great). I would probably not recommend.
I initially intended to give a 5-star review for the excellent service provided by the hostess at my party’s VIP table. However, I had to change it to 1 star due to the unprofessional behavior of the security staff. While walking past a security guard, I was shoved hard for no apparent reason. When I asked him why he did that, he responded rudely, saying I shouldn’t be blocking the walkway. I mentioned that he could have politely asked me to move, and I would have complied without any issue. Instead, he tried to have me removed from the club for questioning his actions, even though I spoke in a calm and respectful manner.Given that my party had a VIP table, the manager eventually intervened and apologized. Unfortunately, this incident dampened the rest of our night. The security guard’s reluctant apology made it clear he wasn’t pleased. This experience ensures that I won’t be returning to this venue.
Great night hands down it was a really nice club really nice. Love how the elevator opens up to the club. Bottle girls are very pretty. Music on point, you can feel the bass in your body. DJ Lights are amazing. I highly recommend this club, it was so much fun I thought I was in a movie. Ill be back one day. Thank you so much to THE GRAND.
Went on Wednesday and Friday - two totally different, but thoroughly fun nights. Wednesdays are the Undergrand. Its you, the artist and maybe 150 or so other people in one small room. Intimate and wonderful. Came to see Jerro and felt like I was in a Canopy Club video, but inside. The staff were all friendly and it was a fantastic experience. Drinks are expensive, but this is a deluxe establishment. Fridays of course are the full deal. Four hours of ultra-high energy music and lighting, and totally cool. With all of the VIP tables the dance floor is small, but the sound is so good you can dance anywhere in the club. And it seems very clean and well-run. Far and away the most endearing thing about this place are the 180+ lights that hang over the dance floor going up and down like a bunch of evil Christmas ornaments. Each one actually looks like the thing Luke Skywalker practiced against with his lightsaber on the Millennium Falcon. Theyre one small part of a spectacular lightshow, but they made me smile the whole time. Ill be back here for sure.
This place is out of order. It’s too small and security can’t control the crowd. There’s hardy anywhere to stand or move to. Security is constantly yelling for folks to step back or go this way. The people there are like animals; can’t stay still in one spot. Shut this place down and redesign the whole thing. The set up is so unorganized you can’t even enjoy yourself. The bathroom needs to be away from the main area. It’s overcrowded. Too many people walking all over the place. It’s not worth going if a high profile artist is there. Can’t even see the artist. The artist isn’t really there to perform just host that’s if they even speak on the mic and thank the fans for coming.Outside don’t rely on a taxi if there sitting outside. Good luck with Uber during let out time. The place looks nice from the surface but for the type of events they hold it’s not suitable. Too much dysfunction. This was second time, said let me give it another chance and it got worse. I don’t even know if i would go here if i was invited for free. Even people in VIP had it bad.
The music and atmosphere are great. The bouncers however ruined my night. I had just stepped on to the dance floor and apparently was blocking the path from VIP to the stairs. A bouncer shoved me so hard out the way and yelled, “you’re in the way,” so that 3 women in VIP could walk past me. For context, I’m black and they were white so it felt pretty dehumanizing. Moments like that kept happening throughout the night anytime I was too close to the divider between VIP and GA (I was comfortable being on the outskirts of the crowd). Eventually I just gave up & went to the very back section (which had seating, so that was a decent area as well).
This place is absolutely awful. The bartenders were rude and the manager was even more rude. If I am being honest, this bar has the most disrespectful staff I have ever come across. This completely ruined not only my evening, but the evening of my relatives. On top of this, the drinks were absolutely not worth the price we had to pay for them. There were also flies everywhere. Overall an awful experience and would not recommend to anyone. There are much better places in Boston.
A group I was in rented this club out. There were tickets for open bar and no open bar.I paid extra for the open bar from 10-12. I arrived at 10:50. There was one guy clearing ID’s for everyone there (1000+ people), and despite our group having rented this whole place out for an event for people in their late 20s and early 30s, I waited an hour in a line. Then I get in and try to get a drink before the open bar cutoff in 10 minutes and the bartender is screaming at us, making fun of us, refusing to get us drinks, waving cash in the air. Most didn’t bring cash to the open bar, and there was no option to venmo or credit card a tip, which everyone would have happily done. Meanwhile the bar for people paying for drinks had no line and a ton of bartenders. Those that managed to get a drink from the “open bar” waited 20 minutes. I didn’t ever get a drink because they closed the bar right at 12 despite the 100s of people waiting forever in line.It was exhausting. Rent out one of the other clubs. This group has rented those out and it’s gone much better.
Got a table with some friends to celebrate. Sign and bottle we ordered came out late and separately when it was supposed to be together. Fine whatever, but at the end of the night when it was time to pay, they added a $300 tip when asked to not include tip the bottle service lady was arguing and saying this is what she does for a living. other people went to see what was happened and the service lady continued to argue that she deserves a $300 tip. We were not having it. she even got another service girl to come tell us we need to tip. Saying because we didn’t meet the minimum which was not true. As someone who works in private dining and depends on tips I know how this works and it is beyond unacceptable and unprofessional to ask your guest to give you money. that’s part of the job, we take the risk. We weren’t NOT going to tip and still left a tip anyway.A friend found a lost phone and when giving It to security, he could tell he wasn’t understanding, maybe because the security guards first language wasn’t english. my friend started to speak in spanish to be sure everyone was understanding each other. When my friend spoke spanish the security guard was very hostile and shouted “you don’t speak to me in spanish! you speak to me in english!” I am so confused how this escalated when just trying to do a good deed. The security could’ve said oh I speak english.unprofessional staff.
Our class graduation party was happening here and it took 1 hour of standing in line to get in. We had open bar bracelets and by the time we got in, only 15 minutes of open bar were left. And only one of 3 bars was serving people with open bar bracelets. That bar had only 2 bartenders staffing it, whereas another bar had at least 4. Furthermore, music was basically just teenage dubstep. Oh and there was no room to move through the dancefloor, yet bouncers keep yelling to everyone to keep moving when there is clearly no room to move anywhere. Drinks are basic AF and $17 dollars. On a positive note, it’s fun to go home after this.
In A Nutshell:-The Grand club in Seaport is a great place to catch your favorite DJ.-The club is a decent size w/ one medium sized dancefloor surrounded by VIP tables.-The main bar was easy to order drinks from.-There is also an elevated lounge area w/ its own bar that wasnt too crowded.-The sound systems is legit w/ deep bass & crystal clear sounds.-Security was good, enforced make sure you behave.Overall, this is a good club in Boston.
The service here is horrific. All of the coat check and bar staff are absolutely miserable and have no concept of respect. They bark at you and get mad when they can’t hear you, or will just guess what you said and overcharge you. The coat check girl was especially rude, making guests feel uncomfortable from the moment they stepped in. Save your money and go somewhere nicer!
Absolutely NO ROOM to dance. And drinks are super expensive. $10 for a Trulys?! I only come to this venue if an artist I love isn’t playing anywhere else that’s near where I live. Otherwise it’s such a disappointment. The bathroom crew and the elevator staff are nice though.
I asked for a double vodka Red Bull, and the bartender proceeded to pour 0.5oz of vodka and then charge me $18. As someone who knows pour counts for drinks I was stunned. I’m not sure if she wasn’t paying attention, or if the establishment uses 0.5oz of spirits as a standard for drinks. The venue itself looks very cool, however between the ridiculous prices for drinks and the extreme disorganization of being able to get to the pit area, I would never come back here again.
I came to this venue for a concert, which on Ticketmasters website said started at 9:30pm. The performer didnt end up coming on stage until 12:35am which was simply not communicated by the venue or by any staff members when asked.Shots were also crazy expensive. the entire crowd was rude and my friends, and just all around not great vibes. Totally turned me off and I will never return. We did enjoy our time with the elevator man though.
Somehow one of the worst club experiences I’ve had. Extremely over crowded with the oddest demographic of people. Seriously, they let anyone in and the dress code is nonexistent. Crowd was pushy and rude and many older men putting their hands on girls in in our group. Gross. Staff would physically push people out of the way for bottle service. Crazy bad experience, just go to NYC or literally anywhere else in Boston.
I went for my birthday last night and had the absolute best time!! All the staff were very sweet and accommodating, especially the door staff. I’ve never been to a club but I’m so happy I picked this one! Also, the drinks were around $15-20. Thank you to the Grand for giving us the best time!!
(After New Years Party)To be honest with you the bars staff and the bathroom staff were great. Security was much more hostile then clubs that are cheaper downtown. In the sense that they not the most reasonable especially when u make a mistake. They tend to flash lights in people eyes. if you ask for help or questions they do it base if your pretty or not. Word of warning… not very Diversity friendly. It might not be the establishments fault, but it’s not the best place for people of color or people who fit an aesthetic. If I got to a club I want to got to dance and drink, just have fun. Not be bullied for not wearing a fancy shoes, or be made fun of by having a 2 drinks **purposely**thrown on me. I’ve never wrote a review about a club. A CLUB! Cause it’s club!!I know thing are going to happen but I’ve only had this type of experience at The Grand. Be safe out there folks.
Your bouncers are extremely rude. Bought 4 tickets to a boogie and watched every bouncer accept bribes from people to get in. Told the ticket holders that they needed to wait bc everyone showed up at the same time, it took us about an hour to even get in the venue. Go ANYWHERE else in Boston don’t bother spending your money here.
The bartenders from the moment we walked in acted like they were pissed to have to serve us. We had our cards and bill thrown at us. Eyes rolled constantly. They seemed to be very VIP oriented and everyone else was trash in their eyes. We left quickly, confused, because nothing had happened to deserve that treatment. None of us had more than a drink and were sober, we were all dressed nice, tipped well, were kind to the bartenders. I don’t ever write reviews on this type of stuff but I want to warn others that this is a hostile and uncomfortable environment. Not worth the money it costs to get in when they promote themselves as an upscale club. Like, they have a man in the bathroom to hand me paper towels but no bartender with professionalism, respect and common decency?? As a business owner myself, I would read these comments and make a serious change. We aren’t the only ones.
Worst venue Ive ever been to. No where to stand or dance - so many ropes up for vip areas but most of them are empty. Everyone that worked there acts like theyd rather be dead than help or even look at a customer/guest. Went for a show and the headliner didnt go on until 12:30am
Went for Steve Aoki concert just to find out the pool area is so small that we paid $60 and still couldn’t get in the pool. 0/10 not recommended. The service people in the bathroom are nice.
For the 💰 you spent 4k to be exact We should have had way better SERVICE. 🙄 I was average at best. The vibe was right food nah 👎 👎 The bartenders easy to take home 💯 so the TRIO that was a plus 🚆🚂 🔥👉👌 So GrandDO BETTER ! ED, JOE, RANDY
The club is great. I went and saw 50 Cent which was heavily promoted however he didnt come out until 130am which was lame. Yo the first dj was garbage too, man the guy could not transition. You could tell by the way everyone would start dancing and then the vibe just died when he transitioned. the second was OK lol nothing to write home about. The club is dope...hopefully their talent gets better.......
I am definitely going back and booking a table with Anhie Win. I was instantly amazed by the glass entrance to the building. Upon arriving I was greeted by staff who directed me to the level I was going to...The Grand! Our VIP table was surrounded by extravagance The booth was extravagant in itself . Such beautiful interior and our VIP Hostess was even more beautiful. Anhie , a super model with such good energy that just made our experience unforgettable. I danced so much! I really liked how the tables are grouped together, made it comfortable for everyone to enjoy the DJ and the light show... The light show though!! The crowd was so fun and the music was loud and smooth. I walked around a little too and there is a back bar with a open space, its more chill then in the center of the craziness...just in case you want to go chat instead of dance.
I had a terrible experience here. Im used to NYC clubs, so I thought oh I know crowds - turns out not. The security lets very drunk people in, the venue gets overbooked, & no one is monitoring the dance floor. I was pushed around during a show so much that by the time the main DJ came out, my boyfriend & I left the dance floor. I would never come back, horrible crowd control.
Came for a concert, website stated it would start at 9:30, performer didn’t come on until after 12:30. Secondly, it was very unorganized and the staff/security were very rude and unprofessional besides one young man who made the experience bearable. Will never return
Edit: I appreciate the grand now, it’s an ok club, was just not having a good time when I posted the below review…“Been very disappointed each time I go. Much better clubs for better price, even when they have performers it’s still an awful experience.”
My friends and I bought a table. A bartender called people “retards” and I got kicked out for confronting her. Bouncer said she has “freedom of speech” 😂
The Grand is the place to be on the weekends. The best artist and DJ lineup in Boston. Nights here are always the best😊
I went to an event 1/13 I was in VIP with a table and I paid my daughter was sick all evening just at the table and at Midnight they told her she needed to get up they booked another group at the table? I was told I would have the table all night and paid for it. The service by the young girl was excellent but management horrible and I would not recommend wasting money or time to attend a function at this venue. I also forgot I went back to hotel to only find out they gave me the wrong credit card and license back so I had to wait up for someone from club to bring me my stuff back and take back the person they gave me.
I spoke to Dave, he went above and beyong the line of duty. His costumer service gets 5 stars. I kept bugging him all day and he was super cortious. Answer all my questions and even sent me a picture for the vip table. From what i have read so far online this place seems great. Has an awesome atmosphere.
Overpriced drinks, terrible customer service, wont even let you go on dance floor
Worse night EVER !We came yesterday and were on the guest list , which had a 2 HOURS queu ? What is the point to be on the guest list when you have to wait hours because there is thousand people on the guest list ? doesnt make any senceWhen we arrived in , we saw that the dancefloor was VIP only ? Is that a night club or just a place to show your money? again no sence...Then we realized that the security let a lot of pretty girls go without any vip tickets ???? Lemme tell you why , THEY WERE IN TINY SHORT DRESS AND SKIRT. When me and my girls were just chic with long beautifull dress...And more the security was screaming and pushing us... Im really short and skiny and ive been pushed so hard that I have small injuries on my arms THIS IS SUCH A SHAMENever coming back again. This club is just waiting for money and not happy customers
Took my co workers there for the first time, had a great time! Definitely a hidden gem club in Boston. The staff and service is amazing, and the bottle service girls are absolutely fantastic at their job. I can’t wait to visit again!
They say that girls dress differently to see a DJ and men cant go in with a tank top
Very bad conduct, we paid 70 dollars for a ticket and waited in line like people who didnt buy a ticket - the same waiting time so there is no reason to buy a ticket in advance, waiting for over half an hour and face-to-face service with a very high price
This place is an unbelievable let down. The bouncers and shot girls can only be described as mean. I witnessed them shoving people who were perfectly well behaved and just trying to enjoy themselves. The place was completely packed, like sardine can packed. Dancing is out of the question. All you can do is jump vertically and try not to get elbowed in the head. The music is cynical, joyless garbage. For example the DJ played the same set (which included a very badly remixed version of the maccarena) 3 times in the course of 1 evening. The drinks are bad and brutally overpriced. The atmosphere is hostile. If you enjoy being sweated on by strangers in a fire code violating crowd , scowled at and abused by staff and listening to music that was terrible the first time around. You will absolutely love the Grand!
I used to think this place was so cool. Then I moved to Europe for a while and then Miami and wow, Boston night life is hilariously bad. 2am closing times? Really?😭. So glad I escaped this lame hell hole of a city.
Floor gets really wet after a certain amount of time passes. Music is fine, mostly Top 40. The House Music is good though, it just takes a while before the music is worthwhile.
This specific security guard was really a downfall to my night. He spilled my drink out my hand and responded “oh well.. guess you got to get a new one” then he proceeded to cuss at me and my friends as if it was our fault. I’m fully aware that him dropping the drink was most likely an accident however his responses to everything was very uncalled for… Hopefully he was just having a bad night.
The bouncer isn’t friendly. They do not like LGBT people…. There were like 10 girls dancing on the sofas… I get up there after seeing they were on the sofa for a long time dancing & this bouncer yanked my arm and told me to get down….. this is highly disappointing. I assumed they were giving people the “Ok” to dance on the sofa if no one was stopping those girls from doing it….If it’s not allowed why are they letting women dance on the sofa and not gay men? What’s the issue. I rated this place 1 star for that reason although I did have a fun time but never will come back because of how disgusted I was treated. I really liked the atmosphere but the bouncer needs to learn how to treat people fairly!!! If I can’t dance on the sofa nobody should be dancing on the sofa don’t pick and choose because they’re “attractive women”
Confiscated a REAL ID and held it for a period of time, grudgingly gave it back after MANY attempts with passport proof. Unacceptable. Borderline lawsuit material.
It might be the style of a Las Vegas Dance Club and the sound is decent but the dance floor is tiny, there is NO place to sit unless you bought a table for several hundred dollars and the drinks are mediocre at best. I‘ve been there twice (options in Boston are limited) and they make such a big deal about the dress code on their website but it looked like they let everyone in. It’s fun for dancing but expect nothing special.
Everything everyone has said thus far is correct. Overpacked, way too loud (like louder than any other clubs I’ve been to), and honestly just not safe. A lot of tall guys there will just throw their elbows with no regard and I got hit really hard in the head a lot because of that. The bartenders are nice and the DJ’s are good usually, also the bathrooms are very clean so I gave a star for that. Idk if I’d ever go back to this place though
Music was good and the effects were nice! Bathrooms were pretty clean for a night club. I just hated how packed it was. Everyone is so self-centered and pushes each other. They had a sign for the vip tables saying “We hate poor people.” how can you be proud celebrating that kind of mentality? There should definitely be some sort of crowd control. I’m surprised I didn’t see fights.
I guess this place does not care about safety or fire hazards/codes.The two times Iv been there, people in the VIP section were smoking cigarettes, and passing joints.Of course nothing was done about it either time since this is a place that only caters to VIP/Table service. In fact, a security guard got over to the table real quick and it seemed that they were going to be asked to leave. Nope! They were smoking while talking to the security guard and there was a clear “handshake” that resulted in the guard being given an undisclosed amount of $$.Bouncers are rude, drinks are watered down on top of overpriced. It took my favorite group to get me to go back to this horrible place and I won’t make that mistake ever again!Wish I could give them negative stars
Really good vibe inside, beautiful people, gentle staff. The problem is the line outside in this winter weather. If they want to hold ppl in the line, it would be good some heaters to make it more comfortable.
I booked a table here for my best friends birthday and have nothing but good things to say. We spent more money than we originally planned, and thats only because we felt like royalty and it became hard to resist. I felt like our server genuinely cared about whether or not we were enjoying ourselves, and the service was efficient and friendly. This is also one of the cleanest night clubs Ive been to, which is important to me. Amazing time, no regrets!
We were there for a fully ticketed event (everyone in line had a ticket), and left after waiting in line in the cold for an hour.
They way overbooked the place full of people and everybody is just pushing and shoving and it’s literally a nightmare and even if you pay 100 bucks there’s a chance you wouldn’t even be able to go on the main floor. Also, please be advised when they post special artist performances on their website when you buy $100 tickets that if they promise in the artist is gonna come to the club it’s just a feature and they might only show up for the last 10 minutes and barely sing anything, and they might not sing at allAlso the drinks are so expensive for no reason and they under pour
This bar is clean. Fair warning, $17 for a mixed drink. The employees at the door were nice and welcoming but all staff I interacted with upstairs were rude, pushy, and acted like they were better than you. The dance floor was tiny for the amount of people they pack in. On the dance floor, no exaggeration, you’re packed like sardines with no room to move. There are so many better bars in Boston, I wouldn’t suggest going here.
Line is horrible, slowest process I’ve ever been to. We’re at a private event and they still move at a snail’s pace. Imagine if this is a normal day
DisappointedThe DJ was niceBut The waitress are disrespectfulThey took some of our drinks and serve it to othersNot a decent place
I went to The Grand for the Taste of Ethnic Boston event. Eric was the bartender that I opened a tab with. He was incredibly nice and welcoming! The drinks he made were wonderful. I had never been to The Grand before and would definitely come back another time.
I have ended up here 3 times, and it is consistently way too packed. The dance floor should just be called the stand floor — you literally can’t move and just end up getting shoved around by people desperate to get out. There is little-to-no separation between the tables and the crowd. The bouncers are rude, but that’s probably because they’re overwhelmed by the World War Z proportions of people.
Pros: amazing sound system, lighting and led walks. Really great artist in a medium size venue. Always feels super intimate to see some really big names there. Bartender are always super nice.Neutrals: Drinks are over priced but most nightclubs in Boston are like that. Dress code... really we cant wear sneakers to go out dancing?Cons: Bouncers are always so unnecessarily aggressive when theyre checking your ID or tickets. I wish they were more pleasant.VIP areas take up large portion of dancefloor and ruin the vibe.
One of the greatest bars and nightclubs I’ve been to! All the managers are drool worthy. The girls are drool worthy. The closest place to Vegas on east coast
I came here for my birthday for the first time, wasn’t sure how I’d like it because I’m not much of a club person. But the service was top tier, the bottle girls at my table were so attentive and fun to be with. Kelly and Mariel, thank you for making my birthday an amazing experience, best club to go to in Boston IMO
This venue is trash at best. Yeah it looks nice inside but their dress code is unbelievable strict, the drinks are outrageously priced (for 3 drinks i paid $68), and theres ZERO places to sit or stand. So unless you have money to throw in the trash for a $1,000 - $2,200 VIP table, I HIGHLY recommend going somewhere else. Oh not to mention, no matter where you stand (if youre not VIP) you get told youre in the way and need to move. The dance floor is obnoxiously small and while I was there the other night I was told you cant stand here or you need to move that way by security about 15 times.
This place is horrible. The staff was SO rude. Especially whatever female that was working there on Friday night at closing on the 12th. I was told i needed to leave ( someone said I got sick in the bathroom?) I wasnt even drinking that night and tried to ask what they were talking about. They never even gave me the moment to do it. They wouldnt let me get my phone.. my purse... nothing. I had to wait for my friend to come find me outside in almost tears. Because Im not from Boston and had no way to communicate with anyone. I will NEVER go back to this place. I warn anyone who does. Keep your stuff on you at all times... or else the staff might just decide you arent cool enough to be there and force you out. Horrible service.
I’m here at the moment and it’s not the doesn’t time I’ve bee here and the music blow balls tonight was word on word country night but everyone said it wasn’t but it was and it blows balls like I wish I was Helen Keller! Rest and peace Hellen is wish I was you ❤️🔥❤️🔥
This place is the worst designed club and has the tiniest dance floor of any club Ive ever been too. And its shrunk even more because the security constantly push people away from the edges to make room for the bottle service parade that comes to the tables right next to the floor--and do so even when there is no parade! And there were like 10-12 VIP tables so there were lots of parades. It was so obnoxious esp when the floor was packed tight that we couldnt even stay on the floor. Thankfully there was some room in the back along a rail for real dancing but it was smallish and the only reason it worked for us is that there were only 6-8 people there. The drinks were so overpriced ($34 for a well whiskey/soda and rum and coke) that we stopped drinking. Astonishingly, the place literally only has two toilets for the entire club (unless there are VIP-only ones I didnt see) and there was NO WHERE to sit other than the VIP tables--literally not a single chair even in the very very back. WTH? The cover was an outrageous $40 at the door but if theres a ticketed show, you should be able to get a cheaper ticket through Ticketmaster which I had when I went. I would never pay $40--or probably even $10--for this tiny overly pretentious place. The only reason I gave it two stars instead of one is that the DJ played a great mix and we ultimately had fun dancing in the back of the room, but I dont plan to go back unless theres a big name DJ and its not sold out--because selling out would probably mean the back of the room would be so crowded that there would literally be no where to properly get down. They really need to redesign the whole place.
If you buy tickets to see someone here, just know that they’re going to show up around 12-12:30 am. We bought a ticket that said 9:30-11:30 pm and when we got there, no one was there. Also you can barely stand anywhere without security rudely getting in your face and telling you to move. I walked out of the bathroom, stopped for a second and was told I couldn’t stand where I was 2 times in less than a minute. I get they need to keep the place safe and everything, but they really need to chill. I was sober and wasn’t staying there another minute or buying a drink. Went to another bar and had a great time for free
Separated me from my group simply because I had to use the bathroom
For some reason I thought this was kind of a high end place, probably because of its location and the price for admission, it does project a certain image online but, I gotta say, very few times I felt so disappointed about a night club. It’s expected to have to deal with a very crowded dance floor but the bouncers at this place treat you like cattle. I got there early and I was dancing minding my own business, little by little people start gathering. It got to a point where I was at the edge close to the VIP spot where there are a few steps close to the DJ area and out of nowhere a bouncer started pushing, shoving and yelling at me to get out of there (mind you I wasn’t standing on the steps) I had nowhere to go but he kept on pushing me onto other people, spilling drinks and whatnot… I don’t even drink. I understand sometimes you gotta be tough on people, but that was totally unnecessary. Please have someone coaching these bouncers so they understand when to use their brain instead of only relying on their muscles.
I spent 3000.00 to have a VIP table for my birthday and had a good time so I went back with my fiancé and paid general admission. The employee threw us out because my fiancés arm was too close to a table nobody was even sitting at. The only reason we were that close is because the dance floor was packed. The employee pushed my fiancé and when my fiancé verbalized that he didn’t want to be touched, they threw us out without reimbursing the 40.00 cover charge we both paid or the 45.00 for the round of drinks we had. This place will treat you good if you spend thousands at a table but then you will be trash the next time you go without purchasing a table. I regret ever giving this establishment my business. Never again!
What a joke of a club. Even my girlfriend is 35 and im 44 years old, which you can easily tell, we had to show a foto ID at the entrance. Of course we are not used to carrying those around with us, since in Denmark thats not necessary when you are at that age. Its OK to smoke weed on the open road, but you cant enter a simple night club without a foto ID... are you kidding me.
Badly designed and not like any nightclub I have ever been to. The “Club” is made up of 80% VIP areas, 15% Bar and 5% dance floor. Unless you overpay for a VIP area, I would highly recommend trying out other clubs in Boston where you can actually dance. The club is designed for you to spend a ton of money on overpriced alcohol and no space for dancing. Honestly who ever designed the club is actually genius, but I will not be coming back. If you can’t see through the bright lights, the good looking waitstaff and the upscale decor then maybe this is your place to blow hundreds of dollars on low grade alcohol.I was lucky enough to be apart of a VIP area which was fully paid for. I had a blast with the group I was with, but once you step foot out of your little VIP booth, there is no place to move or dance. It’s just one BIG VIP lounge broken up into small segments. The pictures online of the fun bright crazy dance floor full of people are completely skewed. The club or the dance floor is not that big. It was mostly people just standing around because there was no where to move. Definitely try it out once. You’ll see what I am saying!
My friends and I had a great time at The Grand. Our VIP Host, Eddie, did an excelling job with checking in with us and managing our table reservation. I would strongly recommend visiting The Grand for those who are looking for a fun night in Boston!
I went to the grand this past Saturday and had the worst experience. I was hanging out a group of my friends and my boyfriend, the whole night I ordered seltzers with limes because I didnt feel like drinking. I went to the bathroom and came back to stand with the group and a women who worked there in a black jacket came up to me and told me to come with her. I figured I may have left my phone in the bathroom, but that was not the case. She brought me into a back room and she then lead me to an elevator down to the street. I asked her what the issue was and she just kept saying I think you need to leave. I kept saying I wasnt drunk and was confused as to where we were going. She walked me out of the club through the front doors and just kept walking down the street. I was uncomfortable and sat down in a busy area. I asked again what the problem was and she ignored me and just kept saying just stay here you need to go home. She walked away and left me. Lucky enough my boyfriend was following me the whole time. He didnt like the situation and neither did his friends. We thought maybe it was because I wasnt ordering drinks, but I still felt weird about the situation. The fact that I was removed from a group of people and escorted into a random room, into an elevator and left outside alone is UNSAFE! We will never be going back to this club and I warn every girl who plans to go, to be aware of your surroundings. I dont want to think what could have happened if I didnt sit in a crowded area and kept following her down the road. Please stay safe if you ever go to the Grand.
This place really is about the VIPs. General admission looked fun too but you spend most of the night either on a crowded dance floor or getting yelled at because you are in the way. But as a VIP the service was top notch and they have it set up beautifully. Showed up early and our table got upgraded to right in front of the stage. Great DJs and having Brianna Chicken Fry there made the whole thing even cooler.
I’m giving this place 2 stars because the manager D (that’s all I remember honestly) and an African American Guard with curly hair, spoke to me and helped me calm down after I had a panic attack. A guard by the name of Sal, I believe, was so disrespectful. He constantly pushed me back aggressively. There was people behind me and on both sides of me so there was really no where for me to move. When I told him to stop pushing me, he told me “I’m not pushing you” as he continues to, what I felt, assault me. You weren’t allowed to sit, you weren’t allowed to even lean on the DJ table just to rest your feet. I felt super overwhelmed that I had to be escorted out. They only cater to VIP who weren’t even there to enjoy the show. They just kept leaving their booth. I didn’t even enjoy my time with Krewella for the last 20 minutes of the show. If you’re an artist, stay away from this venue. It’s definitely not worth it.Can we talk about dress code? We were supposed to be dress in business casual or whatever and then there were girls dressed like they were going to a rave (which is fine but this isn’t a place for rave parties). There were people smoking either from a vape or marijuana. People were lazy and decided to throw drinks at people.
Bostons best nightclub for good reason. Top-tier talent, staff, and sound. Celebrated my birthday and they presented the bottles over the top with confetti, sparklers, signs and fun props. Would recommend to all my friends.
We got a table for my best friend’s birthday and it was really fun! The bottle girl was nice and they did a big light show with a sign for her birthday. Definitely recommend!
The night with back coffee was way over crowded. The club should really reconsider how many people they let in as it made for nothing but a negative experience. Audioprophecys set was lit 🔥 but once black coffee started playing the music became painfully and unnecessarily loud. Needless to say that the security kept trying to keep pathways clear when there clearly was zero space to keep it clear and the dance floor got so busy we couldn’t even move. I know you could have done better! The night started with excitement but quickly turned into “I don’t want to be here”. There is no way they were not over capacity.
I decided to give this place a shot since they brought in Krewella and I was fresh from EDC, but they definitely only cater to the VIPs. Theres a strict dress code as well. You cannot have a tanktop on, no shorts, and no hats as well. They seem to oversell general admission as the dance floor will be packed to the brim and when a VIP table orders a drink you will be SHOVED out of the way by security so they can deliver. The place only offers seating for extra as any table or sofa is for the VIP experience. My guess is they sell general admission as a courtesy so their more wealthy guests can feel like theyre experiencing a real life party.Only advice I can offer is to avoid this place unless you feel like dropping at least a few thousand for a VIP table. I can say I was treated rough enough that I wont be coming back.
TLDR: bad experience because of the wait to get in, then once inside the crowd was hardly dancing.40+ minute wait in 20 degrees to get in to a concert that I have a ticket for because of the coat check line. Really need to fix the logistics to speed up getting people inside. The bouncers were friendly enough but the layout of a dance floor that is sunken in is dumb because the stairs cant be occupied so a large area is just unusable. The location is pretty inconvenient. Just go to a different venue that is more fun.You have lost a customer
Awesome place for any type of venue to use . Was there for a Christmas party! All bartenders were great, and the staff walking around with appetizers , there were just fantastic people!!
I will never go there again I waited 4 hours for 50 cent and he only was there for like 20 minutes worst place to go in Boston and why did it say the show was for 930 to 12 on your site so why did he come out at 130 Ive never waited longer for a concerts and Ive been to hundreds of concerts this was the worst one I will never go to the grand again
If you have the money to spend, then this is the place. Its generally $30-$50 for cover unless you happen to be on the guest list, then you can get in quick. The line is always long especially in terms of waiting forever to get in. Coat check is good, you get a ticket with your number for when its the end of night and you need to pick up your jacket. Drinks are really overpriced. EDM is generally the type of music they play here, so this might be the spot for you. Theres really not a whole of space to dance around unless you have your own table. The dance floor is very limited as VIP tables take up a good chunk of the place. It is really upscale and a very nice club, probably the nicest looking club Ive been to in Boston. The employees on the elevator that take you up to the floor are really nice. If you have money, like spending money on pricey drinks and/or table, youre at the right place.
I had a table at the grand recently and the night was amazing! Our bottle girl Emily was attentive, fun and had great communication throughout the entire night. 10/10 experience will be coming back!
I love going to The Grand! The staff is so amazing from the security team to the bathroom staff! I had such a great night. Drisanna was our bottle service girl she was awesome! I can’t wait to go back!
The guy in the white and grey shirt that opened on August 16th was so bad it hurt to hear
The staff didn’t seem to know how to run the club. They kept being rude pushing their way when their could have been a bar in the front to keep the audience back from the stage. Their was one security with curly hair that was very rude didn’t seem to care about others just seemed to only care about the twig females . He pushed my arm violently out of the way when I was trying to get videos . You guys need to figure a better way to keep guest from getting pushed around. I feel I was going to get trampled half the time . I thought you were supposed to keep your guest safe but seems another AstroWorld will happen >:( honestly feel half the crowd wasnt there to listen to the music just be stupid and drink . The people that ACTUALLY wanted to listen got pushed around . We paid good money .
I was very hesitant about going to this place after seeing so many negative reviews. I eventually decided to give it a try because I really wanted to see one of my favorite artists performing. The DJ was awesome and the sound was good. So overall the place was better than I had expected. However, despite the city-wide mask mandate, they didnt require people to wear a mask (let alone checking peoples vaccination status). Even many of the staff members were not wearing a mask. That made me feel very uncomfortable. For this reason, I gave a 3 instead of 4.
I dont know much about ordering drinks at clubs, but yes, its expensive. One order of gin and coke is $16. The security guard at just about every corner definitely makes a customer feel safe for sure (which is why it got a 4th star). In addition, never got escorted through an elevator before, so I felt fancy for the night! The dance floor is much smaller compared to the Big Night Live at TD. There is a dress code, but I guess they arent too strict about it. Even less stringent when youre a VIP (based on observation). Not sure if I would come here often, but possibly if theres a show I REALLY would like to see.
This club is more focused on the look at me culture then a proper good club experience. The dance floor is like 40 square feet...there is a literally line to get to the dance floor, you know, after the line outside you wait in to get in. The rest of the club floor space is this elevated ring around the tables for service, so that you just looking at kids with rich dads take selfies with a champagne bottles.Ive seen some incredible international DJs play some great sets to a tune of a limited 50 people actually dancing on the dance floor and the rest of the club standing around in this awkward, bright platform around the sides. To be fair, they have a solid club lighting system and good sound. That can only do so much for the atmosphere though
The bartenders were awful, there was a brunette hair woman that tried to finesse me for more tip money. She really made a huge scene in front of everyone and was very unprofessional and extremely disrespectful, yelling at me that I didn’t give her any tip and very rude. She called the security one me even though I already paid and gave tip money to the other bartenders. I gave tip money throughout the whole experience but would definitely not recommend going here unless you want to be targeted.
No floor to dance.. way too big vip areas. female staff is dressed for the male gaze... djs dont even show up until 1am, the club closes at 2... drinks are so expensive. and the staff is so rude
It was terrible to see employees smoking in front of the customers and customers paying to the security staff to let them smoke in the club (VIP section). I wonder, where is the manager there?Employees are so rude, overpriced drinks, health and safety codes 0.
Amazing atmosphere! Nice decor and the light show are very neat too! I went to celebrate my bday and left impressed! I arrived thinking it was as gonna be electric music all night but I loved the mix! DJ Costa did amazing mix! i would definitely go again and recommend if you want to have a fun night to dance all night.
I am fortunate enough to travel to a lot of high end clubs around the world with my job as a personal trainer. Simply put, The Grand is my favorite. It goes far beyond the atmosphere, the 100ft LED wall, the sound, the cleanliness, the bottle girls, etc... I am most impressed with the professionalism of the entire staff. They are all there for the people. They ensure that the people choosing the spend money at their establishment are taken care of and have the best possible experience. Ive celebrated just about every occasion possible at The Grand, and every experience has been 5 stars. The second they are allowed back open, Ill be there.
I went go the grand a few weeks ago and loved it! Our bottle server Braxtyn did amazing serving us and also having fun with us. She made sure we got everything we wanted liquor, mixers, napkins, shots and made us comfortable. We were also treated well by all the staff when coming in and finding our table. I’ll request Braxtyn next time I come to the grand.
They stopped the artists music at exactly 2:00 am, right in the middle of his last song. Everyone was speechless.. So disrespectful toward an artist who travelled 3000 miles to come play there. Such a s***** club...
The venue, in and of itself, was fantastic. The staff at the door and the staff at your table are amazing. They make it work the money thats spent on a table, because its a crazy amount, and great service should be associated with that. However, the floor staff are less exciting compared to the great people you interact with at the beginning. They’re rude, they exercise rules on you that are never explained, and they play pawns to the terrible people who pay the most. The grand is nothing more than a playing ground for the ultra wealthy, and if you don’t fall in that category, dont waste your money
The bottle girls steal from you tipping themselves afterwards. Especially when given cash for tip smh.
Went to a show this last Friday and it was dominated by males. The ratio from males to females was 90/10. It created a very uncomfortable environment. I was so uncomfortable I left early. I’m not sure if this was caused by the pandemic but the men were also out of control. People falling down drunk and drooling over the females serving drinks. I’ve had much better experiences elsewhere.I’d like to give the club another shot but maybe I will wait until things calm down and the venue is under better control. Completely bummed because I left before seeing Kaskade.
Excellent club. Easy to get a drink. Legit speakers and lights. Reasonably priced. the break bomb project is also a great opening DJ
THE WORST BARTENDERS - they are rude, moody, and don’t know how to treat their customers. When I didn’t receive what I had ordered, the 2 bartender ladies ganged up and started creating a scene for asking for the right drink. I understand there is loud music, but they need to learn this is not the way to treat customers who are there to just have a good time. THEY KILLED THE MOOD. An overly crowded club with no place to dance - so if you’re looking to have a good time, find another place!
The only semi good thing about this place is the fast bar service, but drinks start at $15. The dance floor is the smallest I have ever seen. The place is more enjoyable if you are in VIP, which takes up the entire place. Bouncers do a terrible job of crowd control. Multiple fights broke out on the dance floor which lead to total chaos and blood all over the floor which they failed to clean up. I have been here twice and both times I had an awful experience. The second time I went the main act didnt start until 1AM which was a total rip off for how much we paid for the cover/tickets. I will never go back and not recommend it to anyone.
Go to the grand if you want to experience sexual harassment. The grand left me with an overwhelmingly negative impression of Boston nightlife, that I have not experienced in any other city (New York, London, etc). We waited in line for 30 minutes with an entirely male crowd, only to enter into a half empty club. My friend and I were physically picked up off the ground by two strangers, with the Boston police and bouncers standing very nearby witnessing this. Although fully aware of our discomfort and surprise, they did not step in to aid us.Some male clients we met at the bar had let us into the laugable “VIP” area. My friend and I went to the bathroom and when we tried to go back to where we were standing before, the VIP bouncer wouldn’t let us back in without finding the gentlemen that we had been with before. Thus making us feel as thought we needed to be dependent on those random guys to get us back in, to which we had not interest in doing. Not sure how the other reviews are so positive of this place, since there’s clearly a huge issue present: no protection against sexual harassment and also encouragement of male dominant behavior. Before anyone tries to say that this is just the nightlife industry, please remember that we are in 2018, and that I should be able to go out with my friend without feeling in danger. Gentlemen should behave like men and not dogs. Security should function properly and make sure we’re safe and comfortable.
A friend and I were on a weekend trip to Boston and deliberately bought tickets to see Two Friends at the Grand - we got there an hour after doors opened expecting the main act to come on at the latest at midnight. By the time they got on at half past one in the morning we were so tired of being so rudely jostled by the staff, insulted by the bouncers, and removed from any inch of space we tried to stand in to enjoy the show that we only stayed for 15 minutes of the main act. What a ridiculous venue - if you’re not paying for the C-grade VIP, don’t come here.Oh, and they were mopping the floors during the main act. Lawsuit waiting to happen, no respect, ridiculous staff and about 70% of the club and VIP members were dudes who were overexcited about being served cheap tequila by women in leotards. If you’ve ever been to a real club in any major city, spare yourself.
A bunch of my girl friends were in town & I wanted to show them a good time so I decided to book a table for us here. We all had an amazing time! Our bottle server was so nice, the service was great & she made sure we were always having fun! I would definitely recommend The Grand to anyone looking to celebrate or just looking to have a good night out!
If you can’t pay the minimum $600 for a table and bottle service, don’t bother coming here. If you’re not a VIP you’re ignored. The drinks are jaw-droppingly expensive: a vodka lemonade (that was mostly lemonade) and a bud light was a $24 bill. If you’re going because you like the DJ that’s performing, wait for them to play at another venue. Small dance floor, the girls who work there will get in front of the DJ constantly to dramatically deliver bottles to the tables on either side, and very few people are there to actually dance and enjoy the DJ. With how horrible this club and the staff are it honestly reflects poorly on the DJs who choose to perform here. Overall a very pretentious and expensive club that’s not at all enjoyable. Also, a lot of these reviews look like they were written by staff... which wouldn’t surprise me given the whole vibe of the place.
There’s literally a line to get on the dance floor. Not being allowed to dance is torture for a clubber. Too many VIP tables that could be used to expand the GA dance floor instead. They get great acts but it’s not worth the headache and stress of trying to get on the crammed dance floor. It’s unfortunate because I expect much more from a Big Night venue (I’ve been to Big Night live and Memoire and have had nothing but great experiences at both). This place has a lot of potential but I won’t be returning unless there’s a big expansion of the GA dance floor
Music was ok, but there was one bouncer who kicked my friend and I out of VIP (even though we were just there - we just stepped out to use the bathroom) for “not having wristbands” when the rest of our friends were in VIP without wristbands. Long story short: he was fatphobic. Will not be returning.
TAVIA IS THE BEST BARTENDER, I AM COMING BACK!!!!! JUST FOR HER
Went last night as part of a birthday party with bottle service, and it was one of the best experiences I’ve had! Music was amazing and the dancers were so energetic. Anh especially had great energy and was so friendly! She’s so fun, would definitely go back!!
If youre planning to celebrate anything this is definitely the venue of choice! The facility is gorgeous, staff is friendly, efficient and professional. Bottle service waitresses are all gorgeous and create a super fun atmosphere at the table. And not to mention The Grand is always bringing the largest acts (DJs/Entertainers) that you wont find anywhere else in New England!!
I was visiting from out of town and was hoping to have a fun night seeing two pretty famous DJs at The Grand. What I was not expecting was an evening being consistently disrespected by the staff, whose job it seems consists solely of separating the VIP members from the remainder of the club, even those who have paid hundreds of dollars for a ticket to the event. The main act had just come on but I could not bear to stay longer than 15 minutes because a security woman asked if I spoke English after she asked me to move from an empty hallway. There was literally no where to stand and every slightly open space was policed at every moment. Unless you have literally paid for a table, don’t come.
Best club in Boston! Booked a table for my birthday party and was taken care of the second I walked in by all the staff. Dj was amazing, great crowd. Bottle girl was accommodating to all our requests and made it the best birthday I’ve had yet. Definitely my go to place
Terrible experience on many fronts - if youre not paying for the VIP section and bottle service, you are trash to Big Night Entertainment Group (owners). There is a line, an actual wait-in-line line to get to the dancefloor - what a joke. And, in typical North American fashion, no one goes here to dance to the music, people typically dont even know the name of the DJ performing, even though the venue get the best names in the game.
Brought some co-workers out for a holiday gathering and was blown away. Who knew there are parties like this in Boston on Thursday nights? We were quickly escorted to our table and before you knew it there were drinks in our hands. I think it was their house DJ Jason playing and he crushed it.
I went here about 2 months ago for a girls night out and honestly this was one of my worst club experiences ever. The fee to get in is outrageous and once you are inside it is so crowded that I honestly have no idea how it isnt a violation of fire code. We got stuck in the corner of the dance floor completely unable to move through the mass of people to get out and I saw multiple fights almost breakout due to pushing from the crowding. The club is going for upscale and luxurious but honestly it feels dangerous and vapid.
Disgusting environment, awful and mean people, and just a small and over packed space. A scar on Boston nightlife, avoid life the plague. The security are the worst part of the whole experience.
I was honestly confused by this establishment. Though I’ve been to see DJs in venues around the world, I couldn’t understand how to navigate this space. The vast majority of the floor is taken up by VIP space including the main dance floor (at least for the evening I attended). To secure a VIP space required at least $1k. In addition, throughout the night, there were random parades of scantily clad women waving extremely bright LED lights and carrying promotional banners for the venue itself. The staff was generally unfriendly. I would not go back.
I went out for my birthday a couple weeks ago and had the best time! Drizzy was my waitress and she gave me the best service. Not to mention the music is such a vibe.
Terrible service. Even if you have a ticket they wont let you in if they dont like you. If youre not VIP the venue does not care about you. The venue was also way overpriced. If you want to go to an actual concert venue that respects everyone this is the last place to go. If you enjoy over priced drinks, almost no dance floor, rude staff, and discrimination this is an option. Would never recommend!
If I could give this club more then 5 stars then hands down I would!!! Vip hosts are extremely helpful when it comes to booking tables, and the bottle girls are so nice outgoing fun and efficient. The venue itself is beautifully put together and high end. Definitely will be coming back!!!
Best place for a night out, management always on point, bottles servers alway polite, and the Vip team is a 5 star itself. If you want to have a fun night out for a birthday or any celebration The Grand is where to be.
Honestly hated it !! Rude security guards, crowding the place to the point of not having room to move in, very expensive drinks, if you go to the bathroom and your husband goes too and either of them finishes before, you cant wait outside the bathroom , you need to go to the salon and logically get lost from your company !! I only liked the security of the concierge and that the lights in the hall are beautiful! Oh, theres one more thing, when theres someone on their birthday, the girls with the lights run over everyone on the way without asking for permission and theres no room for you to get in front of them, in short, I wont be back there unfortunately!
Brought a few friends out to the Grand last night for the first time and I think I speak for everyone when I say that it was unlike anything weve experienced in Boston before. The entire staff was professional and attentive. Our server/host Anh made the night even better with her high energy and excellent service at our table. I definitely felt like a VIP from The moment I arrived to the time I left.
Went there a week and a half ago and had a great time! Great music, lighting, etc. It is very pricy (bought a tequila shot and a bud light and it was $32) but we went in knowing that. One negative is that me and potentially my friend got Covid from here. Not their fault but maybe they could take temps before coming in? It’s a lot of people in one space and I would hate to think someone went in there knowing they were sick!
I normally don’t do bad reviews but this time I have too. The place is beautiful, brand new and the sound system have a great quality.. but when it comes being there is a headache! What a drama and nightmare, you only want to be there enjoying good music and passionate artists, but is impossible! It’s like sardines no space at all to even move a finger!!! The staff is really rude, there’s no respect excuse me, please or thank you. The girls that work they’re beautiful and cute but next time theres no need to grub my arm and hurt me with your nails to pass by, just say excuse and I will move so you can go and do your job. I get it, is a night club “running from VIP” but I think any person on that club could be an potential VIP on a next time, but sincerely the way “non-vip” are treated I will highly consider spend my money in here on a next time and IF!
Its a shame this place gets amazing DJs because its an awful experience. The only redeeming quality is the production. Too bad there is no room to dance. Security is intense, the prices are comical, and it just oozes greed. Also just has one of those vibes where I wouldnt want to have a drink without a lid...
Amazing venue from a best in class team. From the kinetic lighting system to the 70 foot video wall, you can feel the energy build as youre whisked up the elevators like a VIP.Sound system in check, no detail in decor overlooked, and not overcrowded. Fast bar service and amazing teamwork for their opening night.I felt like I was in Vegas at Marquee. Only spot of its kind in northern New England and sets the tone for Boston as city on the move. I left feeling excited for the Seaport finally starting to showcase itself as its moment to shine has begun to transform.
I got a table for my birthday and could not have had a better night! Bottle service was incredible and the bottle girl made sure all of my friends were having a great night! They even brought out a huge sign that said “Happy Birthday”. A bunch of my friends traveled from out of state and couldn’t believe we had this kind of nightlife in Boston. Will be back for sure!
They pull in great performers but something seemed off about the atmosphere—seems like they’re trying to be a Vegas-style club with lines out the door, restrictive policies, and overpriced everything. I didn’t feel like I could just have a good time. Instead, I felt like I had to plan how to get in and constantly think about following their odd rules.
One thing I love about the place is the music. The music is always lit and they always be featuring some really good DJs. I had an aewsome time here with some of my friends. The server I had was Anh, and she was just really upbeat and fun to talk to. She definitely made the night enjoyable. Did I mention she’s also a great dancer?! Anyways, I’ll definitely recommend this place to my friends. I’ll make sure to host my birthday here next time!
The venue is very nice and the sound system is great, but this was not a place to actually enjoy a concert. Unless you buy the VIP seating, theres little to no room to move around the space. Not to mention the parade of bottle service every other minute shoving their way through the crowd. I cant see myself every attending another show here, its not an enjoyable experience if you dont have VIP
Pros: the space is nice and the girls are pretty. Cons: $40 cover charge on a Friday night, and the place was empty. Also, the music was bad throughout, and got progressively worse later - and really, really loud. Also, note that most of the 5-star reviews were posted around the same time. Either all the reviewers just happened to all be here at the same time, or the reviews are fake.
I had my birthday party there. Our bottle girl Jasmyn was AMAZING and so sweet. She did a great job I had so much fun. The place is beautiful. Will definitely go again!!!
This is exactly what the city of Boston has needed in its severely-lacking nightlife. The venue is absolutely stunning! It’s fantastic to see the Seaport up and coming while building such gorgeous places we can finally go out to.The Grand is very Vegas-like, with an absolute top tier light and sound system. I’ve been to clubs all over the world and I’m incredibly impressed by this place! The VIP actually feels exclusive, rather than just rounding you up and throwing you in with everyone else. The lineup is WILD and this place is definitely going to dominate the city of Boston.
Dont waste your time or mone. Do not expect VIP service. And WOMEN BEWARE!! You are not safe in this sexist place, just look at the way they force their female employees to dress. This place is nowhere on par with NYC clubs. My lawyers warned us not to go. They described it as a towny sardine fest;. We should have listened. We arrived at 11p on a Saturday night. Our guests had to wait 45 min for our VIP table because they had given it away to someone else. There are no private VIP bathrooms. The place is very small and dance floor way overcrowded. Also, the staff WILL treat you like a crimanal and confiscate your drink like GRAB it out of your hand if you try get on elevator to go to coatcheck to get something from your pocket. Also, the staff will shove you around on the dance floor WOMEN BEWARE!! YOU ARE NOT SAFE HERE
I chose to celebrate my birthday at the Grand. I had the pleasure of having Jaelene for bottle service and her level of customer service was exceptional. The atmosphere was vibrant and my overall experience was great! I plan on celebrating here again in the near future.
The most awful club I have ever been! The crazy woman (security) pushed me toward elevator and twisted my hand and hit me a couple of times!!! Omg! just because I was standing there and was looking for my friends! My hand hurts a lot and I can’t lift up anything!! I came out of the club and couldn’t call my friends because there was no network inside the club stayed there in the cold weather for 30 minutes and got a taxi to go home while my keys were in my friend’s car!!! I have never seen an awful club like this!!!
A good place for World class DJs and amazing ambience. We got a table there and anh our bottle girl was sooo fun and was on top of everything. Not only did she enjoyed working and setting the vibe for our table with her amazing dance moves she made sure all of our drinks were good and really made our experience at The Grand memorable! Will be back!!
The place is gorgeous, service from bar to cocktail server exceptional. I have come here to see my favorites DJs, this place makes it a unforgettable experience. Kat was the cocktail server that we have the night we came, she is super nice and making sure we are having a wonderful time!!!
Great club, fantastic service. Saw Kaskade here recently and everything about the experience was amazing. Our hostess Susan was one of the best Ive ever had. Will be back, despite it being several states away from me.
Terrible experience here.My friends milestone 30th birthday was held here. She couldn’t understand from the waiter of our VIP table whether or not they served mixed drinks or just did bottle service. It was a disaster. She was stressed and the waitress wasn’t very helpful in explaining what was happening or anything. Had to bring out a manager to explain how the tables we paid for worked. The “VIP” area had no place to talk without being over powered by the music and sound. I couldn’t even chat to my friend about what was happening with the bill or VIP. We tried to walk over to the bathroom area to have a chat where we could hear each other but the lady at the bathroom kept yelling at us that we couldn’t be there and that it was only for one person. I repeatedly tried to ask her if there was any spot to speak to my friend but she kept rudely ignoring me and telling me with a rude attitude “only one person.” I get that there was only one person allowed in the bathroom but for a VIP area you should have allowed me to ask you a question without being looked at like I was some worthless human being who was too drunk to even understand what she was asking or was being too difficult because “you were too drunk.”My friend had the cops called on her. Which was not only embarrassing and totally uncalled for but in all honesty totally unprofessional. I’ve never been treated so poorly in my life. I would never recommend this place for “VIP” to anybody. The police were called by the bathroom attendant when I tried to repeatedly ask her if there was a spot to talk to my friend where I could hear her.I felt like (with nobody else in line) this lady kept shushing me and telling me only one allowed.I was escorted with my friend by the Boston POLICE outside to an area where we could actually talk. And we were all escorted out of the bar.I have no interest in such an unprofessional atmosphere. Especially one that was paid for.Would not recommend ever to any of my friends.
This was literally the worst clubbing experience of my whole life. My friend and I went last night, expecting a clubbing experience similar to others anywhere else in the world. Instead, we were made to stand in line for 40 minutes (even though the club was half empty), pay a steep cover (which is laughable, since when do girls pay cover? or does nightlife work differently than in NYC, MIA, London, Paris, etc?) only to get sexually harassed to a degree that was actually unbearable once inside. The atmosphere inside The Grand on a Saturday night was nauseating at best and predatory at worst. The club was flooded with male clientele who seemed to feel entitled to harass the very few females that were there.Obviously, people hit on people in clubs everywhere, but usually bouncers and security function as some sort of buffer for thirsty creeps and middle-aged frat boys that dont understand no. At the exclusive Grand, however, we were actively harassed, followed, touched and swarmed by countless men IN FRONT OF SECURITY AND THE BOSTON POLICE, who did nothing, even when two complete strangers came and physically picked us up off the ground in front of them. Throughout the night, on more than one occasion, security and staff prioritized the maintenance of entitled (and, frankly, aggressive) bro culture as opposed to the safety of female clubgoers. No wonder there are no women in this club... who wants to pay money for sexual harassment?!? I felt unsafe, disrespected, disgusted and, frankly, outraged by the entire experience. So ladies, come to the Grand only if youre interested in a night of fighting off drunken men as security watches on impotently, because *shrug* I guess boys will be boys, and I guess the Grand fully supports that.
I was at The Grand recently for a bachelorette party that I was in charge of planning for being the maid of honor. All my girlfriends and I had an amazing time. The staff was incredible, they took such good care of us and made us feel safe and right at home! The bride was more than spoiled, and because of The Grand, she had a bachelorette party we will never forget! My friends and I will definitely be back, we love it there!!
I recommend avoiding this place at all costs unless you’ve never been to an awful and overcrowded club with no dance floor and no security. Watered down bottles that cost $350 was the highlight of the night!
Dont come to this place unless you want to be treated like an animal. You wont have any fun while the security keeps pushing you and forcing you to be literally squeezed among eachother. Very disrespectful. You cant barely enjoy for one minute without worrying about where you can stand or not. They will literally push you towards the crowd making you rub on other people all the time. Was treated extremely bad and didnt have any fun. Never coming back here again. Trash place
The Grand is a beautiful venue to see amazing DJs from all over the world perform. I’ve been here a handful of times and love the DJs that I’ve gotten the chance to see there. But every time I go find myself not wanting to come back. My main concern with the Grand is the staff. Overall they care more about promoting the brand, selling bottle service, and creating the perception that this is the coolest place to go in Boston. There have been many times were I have separated from friends and I’ve been blocked for no explained reason from getting to the same section as them. The staff is overly aggressive about it, and that to me does not promote a fun and safe environment.
The bouncers are without any reason too aggressive…. They can throw you out anytime they want to once you have paid the entry fee… The place is too crowded and too expensive… not worth it..
Just celebrated my best friend birthday and bottle service was prob the best experience I had so far in Boston. Love how secluded the bottle service area is, it really feels like VIP. I love how clean and elegant this club is, it feels like you are no longer in Boston and partying in Las Vegas. Will be my destination every time I go out from now on.
Extremely rude waitstaff- I dont want to get treated like that for free, let alone for a $10+ cover. Very unprofessional- the only way I can describe it is as a sleazey club that charges high end prices. This is not a date night spot, but rather I just turned 21 and my parents have money kind of place. The music was maybe a 2/5-star at best.
The bar is waaaaay to crowded to get drinks in a reasonable time. The venue is too small. The music is a bit outdated.
I love this place. It’s so much more updated than the other clubs in Boston. The grand gives a new feel to the Boston nightlife and it looks a lot better than almost all of the other clubs in Boston. In addition, Anh was amazing. She’s so bubbly, so cute, so fun to be around with. She definitely adds to the atmosphere and the party. I would go back again and again.
Whether you’re visiting from out of town or from the local area, this is the best place to go for an unbelievable party. The atmosphere is phenomenal - they book the best DJs, great lighting, confetti, CO2 cannons..... really an unforgettable experience. Happened to be there when Swae Lee made a surprise appearance, too! Seems like there’s always something special going on to make it more memorable for the guests. Will be back soon to book a VIP table for my girlfriend’s birthday. Would absolutely recommend.
In terms of whats available for nightclubs in New England this is easily one of, if not THEEEEE best. The wrap around LED wall? DOPE. Speakers and Subs? ALSO DOPE. CO2 cannons from the ceiling when youre hot AF? Divine. You can get so close to the best DJs, and the cover charge is less than a concert ticket. Also: the lights are pretty sick. Theres obviously been a great deal of thought invested in show production. The bottle girls put on some insane parades. MY BOTTLE CAME IN A COFFIN. literally, Im dead. This is definitely a bottle club, and its worth it. A table with friends is way better deal than GA cover, coat check, and individual drinks. If youre gonna ball out, go full send. This is the place for it.The club itself is beautiful and clean, the style is very 20s Art Deco, its covered in gold. The club has two bars if you need to sneak out for a shot, the bathrooms are huge and clean. Most importantly, the shows that come here are unparalleled at any other venue in New England. Talent acquisition is thoughtful, and well done. Theres no way to be far away from a show here.Overall, I always have a great time. The Seaport is amazing for a night out and this is its crowning jewel.
One big nope… Everything about it was not a vibe. I don’t even know where to start. Drinks are overpriced and not even worth the price, bouncers are awful and all the money you spend to see a certain DJ at 9:30 just for them to come out at 12:30 was not it. Just no, never again.
I always have the best time at the Grand! It’s so much fun and the lights and visuals are amazing to watch. Maggie was our bottle server and she was so friendly and great to be around. She really made the night! Can’t wait to go back
Didn’t allow us when just because we were Indians.
I have been to nightlife establishments in New York City, Los Angeles, Boston, Chicago, London, and San Francisco. Never have I had such a bad experience as the one I had at the Grand. There is nothing grand about the Grand. I was made to stand in line for over an hour, even though I had prepurchased tickets to see Alan Walker. The line was not moving at all--they deliberately held up general admission guests until the show started. General admission guests are given a poor experience the entire time, just to try to make the VIP experience worthwhile. There are only two restroom stalls for all non-VIP guests. There is a standing room area in front of the DJ that is only available to VIP guests. General admission guests are made to stand in the back of the room in an awkward area, with barely any view of the DJ. The cocktail waitresses are forced to wear tiny thong leotards, which is extremely offensive. The show is often interrupted by bottles being brought out to the VIPs with a lot of goofy fanfare. General admission guests are merely pawns made to stand around miserable just to make the VIP guests feel superior.
Had my birthday at the grand .The bottle server was amazing , her name was Ana. My friends and I all had a grand time !! Definitely recommend everyone to celebrate their birthday there . The sound system was great and the place was simply incredible ! 5 starts all around.
I wish I could give this place even MORE STARS. A group of us got a table for a friends birthday. What an amazzzing night!! Dj was off the hook and the staff couldn’t be more accommodating. Our bottle girl (Madison) was so fun and made our night even that much more perfect!! Thank you to The Grand for taking such good care of us, we talk about that night ALL the time and we’re already planning our next visit :)
This club is amazing!! I am from New York and no club there even compares to here. I always have the best time wether it’s at a table or just stopping in for a couple of drinks. The staff, including security and management, are always welcoming and helpful in all situations. Hands down my favorite spot in Boston
My friends and I come here almost every weekend. It’s such a sick place, the visuals are super cool. The staff is always so friendly and the bottle service is top notch. Definitely one of the top spots to be in Boston!
I am retired in the nightlifeee because I just don’t like to drink like I use to! but if I’m looking for a venue to take my out of town guests and friends I love coming here! The lights and sound system is insaneee and it is big and fancy looking compared to other clubs in Boston - VIP service is a must! I love all the girls on bottle service and the dancers— make sure you request for Anhnie she will take care of you and your table! Find your way on the guestlist prior to coming and if your looking for a good time and you don’t like crazy crowds ..go on MONDAY. I actually really just like going to enjoy the lights music and vibe. Not sure why there are complaints about bouncers they are really good at keeping drunks away from me! Just don’t act a fool and you will be good
I came to The Grand on the night of Tory Lanez with a very large group of friends. We had a VIP table in perfect view of the stage. Very pleased with how our server Braxton was able to take care of our large party. My friends and I are definetly looking forward to going back asap!
This venue was terrible. They let way too many people in. It was so crowded and people where pushy and rude. Security are all rude and mean for no reason. The artist i saw was amazing but left half way through because the environment was so terrible. Will not come back here.
A great place to have fun and vibe out. The bartenders and bottlegirls are very friendly. VIP is the way to go when coming here. One of the best places that I have ever been to in or around Boston. If you have the time come and check it out and don’t forget to ask for Anh, she’s one of the best bottle girls you could ever have.
Went to see an artist play here (Jack Harlow). This was not the clubs fault but it was absolutely ridiculous that this event was supposed to start at 9. We ended up waiting until 12:45 to see him preform to only sing 3 songs. I paid close to $300 to be so disappointed. Will not be returning.
Warning, very conniving security. Probably most of the reviews are staff written. They will tell you over the phone when you buy concert ticket sure in summer its okay to wear shorts, t-shirt so long as its not plain white or offensive, trendy shoes just not work boots. Then when you show up following guidelines with paid ticket they will screen you based on how much money they think you have and send you off refusing a refund like youre some riff raff. Terrible place for any sort of dance show, maybe go spend your money at royale or bijou instead.Waterfront looked scenic tho 😅
Top-notch club. Got bottle service last weekend for a friends birthday and was extremely pleased. From the host greeting us, to our waitress it was a near perfect experience. Definitely will be visiting soon
A lot of rude employees (not all of them though, bartender ladies were friendly). Overpriced, charging for coat storage is just petty. The music is uncomfortably loud.
Had a great time! However, they kicked out my friend because they thought he was someone else, therefore we had to leave early. Also, I saw guys getting escorted out left and right, it was weird. I wouldn’t recommend coming here to drink or get drunk because they DO NOT TOLERATE you if you aren’t dancing in a straight line, or keeping your eyes to yourself. Drinks are $15 anyway so definitely get your buzz on pregaming. If you’re a guy, watch your back, the bouncers are looking at you and only you.
The most basic club with the most basic drinks, the most basic music and the most basic people. In a way this place is a symbol of how I feel about Boston so far, having moved here from Miami 4 months ago--there are lots of rules here, and little culture. The Grand is heavily policed (dont stand here, dont stand there), there is absolutely nowhere to sit, and the music is shockingly awful. This baby pop scene will make you feel like youre at a teenagers wannabe risqué club themed birthday party at the bowling alley.
Great club, great music! Khadija was GREAT, so professional, so courteous, she took really good care of us, would definitely love to have her as our bottle service girl again!
The Grand has completely elevated Boston nightlife. The entire venue is of the highest quality. Best sound system, service, and DJ roster. Highly recommended for any special event or big night on the town! Big Night Entertainment Group has done it again!
The Grand Boston is fabulous, very pretty, and elegant. The drinks are great and the restroom was incredibly clean all night.
Seemed like a nice place, they kicked us out after two drinks. Was dancing w my girl, apparently is not allowed. Be advised.
This place is beautifully designed and very elegant inside, but if you are not part of a table or vip group, your night is going to suck. This place sells way too many tickets for the size of it, there is no room to move, let alone dance. the dance floor for general admission is the smallest i’ve ever seen and it’s bordered off with those annoying black bank ropes that are flimsy. For a 40 dollar cover, you just expect a little more than this, I have better experiences at the 10$ clubs in boston.
One of the guard approached me in assaulting way just for asking why I keep watching at him but i just only watch at my friends since we are partying in group. This is not worth it i would recommend you to go to other clubs.
The Grand as intimate as it is ‘grand’ - as causal or a fancy as you want to make it.You can show up with a big crew for table/bottle service, or with a few friends and still feel just as comfortable at the bar. No matter what type of experience each time it was a blast and also unique to the Boston nightlife. It’s not cheesy!!!!!Entry runs smooth and the front of the house is organized and calculated. And if you ever have concerns about getting in the guys from BNEG are all over social media , hit one of them up - they are more than helpful. My go-to guy in Boston is none other than Georgie P - always helpful and delivers every time.
Got a table at the grand with a decent size group of friends a few weeks back for one of my best friends birthdays. It was literally one of the best nights I’ve ever had out in Boston. Everything from the vibe of the entire club music, people, to our table service was more than any of us could’ve asked for. The Grand is definitely nothing Boston’s ever seen before. Making it a place I’ll defiently be looking forward to going to on the weekends & Monday nights!
We got a table the Grand and it was a great experience. The bottle girl we had was named Anh. She was awesome! Very attentive and also very personable. 5/5 would come back again
This place is terrible so not worth it. They dragged me out by my arms and threw me out in the cold in February without my jacket just because some lady saw me stumble. I wasn’t fighting back at all so they should not be allowed to put their hands on me like that. Power hungry creeps
Do not waste your time and money going here. They have a abhorrent check in system that leaves guests waiting outside, laughable drink prices only meant for yuppies with their parents money, and the main act doesn’t show up until after midnight.
This review will matter to you only if you really like EDM: This club brings the hottest EDM DJs to Boston (no other club in Boston has this level of a lineup) - worldwide DJs! Ive been to the grand 7-8 times and each time has been fantastic. Its all up to you to make your night. Yes, the place is small. Bring only your friends that matter. Yes, the dance floor is smaller than it should be and the VIP booths take up too much space. Ive had a better a time dancing at other spots in the venue. You dont NEED to be on the dance floor. You can see and hear the DJ from anywhere so park your party at a convenient spot for you. Yes, the drinks are expensive. Drink more before you get there and pace yourself when youre there? Boston is small but mighty and so is the Grand! You can try Royale, Bijou and wherever else, but youll be back to the Grand at some point. Keep it easy going, have a ton of fun and set realistic expectations for your night. See you there ;)
Went to grand with a few of my friends. We had Kelly as our bartender and she made our experience so much fun! Makes the best green tea shots
There are numerous reasons for why you should not spend your money at this club. First, they charge too much for drinks ($15 + per drink). Second, there is no space to dance because the floor is filled with drinking tables. The marketing team does a great job making the club look like a place to rave to EDM music in their promotional videos but its false/misleading advertising. Third, the crowd age is too old. A sizable chunk of the people that I saw there were over 30 (and possibly over 40) on a Friday night for a young EDM artist. As an undergraduate who just wanted to listen to some good EDM with friends, dance, and meet like minded/similar aged people, I was disappointed. If youre a college student / grad student who just wants to dance, have a quick drink or two, and maybe meet other college students this isnt the scene at all. I will not go back.
