Got charged a $10 cover per person on Saturday night at around 10:30pm. No one was performing (according to the Eventbrite it’s meant to be free anyway), and after we got inside we realized no one else had been asked to pay a cover.
Good Judy is the epitome of inclusive. I most love how the drag performers of all genders talk about how this bar isnt a gay bar its a queer bar because everyone of all backgrounds and experiences are welcome. As a trans woman who has been around a wide variety of humans among a wide range of backgrounds, this bar is my favorite bar.
Good Judy is a nice neighborhood gay bar. They have good drag shows and different programming. The drinks are fair priced and the crowd is fun. The only thing I’d say is that the themed parties not always follow the theme advertised. Other than that I love coming here
Best queer bar in Brooklyn in my opinion! Super fun weekly events and it is the friendliest queer bar with all age ranges and walks of life. The bartenders are sweet and get to know you and greet you as you walk in (okay, so I may have been a regular at one point). Now I live far but Good Judys will always hold a special place in my heart and try to make it back as much as I can! Bravo!
I love this place!!! Theres always something new - piano + singing or drag happening upstairs, dance floor in the back, bar in front, clean bathrooms... what more could you want? Oh, and a patio to smoke. I would live here if I could lol.
So where do I start! Good Judys Ive been coming here since they opened up and they are also one of my local bars. I am a straight happily married white woman that I feel so welcome here! Ive met so many good people here. The bartenders are so amazing at what they do and treat everyone. Yes! It gets really busy sometimes but they always make sure you are being served. They have performances from piano night karaoke to drag shows and on the weekends DJ dance nights oh I cant forget to mention some Thursdays nights they have trivia nights. Its so much fun there it feels like it will never end!! Definitely a place to be!
Definitely a good vibe weird layout tho .. be prepared to wait for a drink when there busy.
This place is truly a hidden gem! The cocktail menu gives you sort of a speakeasy vibe, you can bring outside food and eat it at the tables when you first walk in which was nice. They have an upstairs witch is a piano bar, a long bar downstairs (with some narrow tight squeezes as the place get busy) then you hit a nice size dance floor (shout out to DJ Savage!!! Who played great music and kept the flow of the crowd going all night). And then they have a beautiful back door patio (for the smokers and people who don’t mind). It is just a few stops outside of the City so if you are debating on it… YES!! Take the trip to Good Judy… You will not regret it!!
Cutest and Nicest girl behind the bar Diana take care of that precious cargo while there
Love love LOVED my first visit to Good Judy!! Went to the Monday night bingo to check it out and the bar staff (Diana) and the host Ms. Ma’amShe were so friendly, funny, and welcoming to everyone there! Bingo was a fun time with cute prizes, the movie Twilight was playing in the background, everyone was friendly easygoing, and the drinks tasted great and were fairly priced. Would recommend and will becoming back to one of their future events!!P.S. the Domino’s right across the street makes for great drunk food afterwards.
I think my last happy day on Earth would be playing bingo on a Monday in this bar.
I went on a Sunday night, so I wasnt expecting a huge party, I just needed a drink. And I got a really good cocktail they had, and I also appreciated the music choices (although, they could have more Jessie Ware.)Huge shout out to Kenny for his hospitality!
Best gay bar in brooklyn! i used to go here when it was Excelsior - i loved that bar but Good Judy’s definitely elevated the space. it’s so cozy and has a dance floor and a covered backyard and they do drag shows upstairs!
Had the best time here and was able to feel safe, happy, and welcomed in a queer space with a friend. Big balm for mental health, delicious cocktails actually worth the price and great specials, drafts, etc. Also personally so thankful for the vegan hot dogs!!! To die for and guilt-free pleasure food.. it was the best bar experience and already felt like a good hang! They have an awesome backyard and some front outdoor space! Can’t wait for it in full glory, but happy to support a gay bar for all anytime!
Came here for the last Sat of Pride! It was SO MUCH FUN and such a vibbbe
Bartenders downstairs were understandably busy but professional, bartender upstairs was super friendly. Overall the place is very welcoming and open to all people. Love the space! The drag show upstairs was also quality and worth checking out!
New to the area and on the hunt for queer bars, I saw Good Judy highly praised and had to check it out! I came in by myself and had an awesome time (between the cocktails and the piano karaoke), definitely coming back with bf/friends.
This space is marvelous, the welcome i get when i walk through the door is so warm and the staff is incredible. what a great queer space in South Slope and the drinks taste amazing. We were in the mood for shots and the bar tender Gates made us custom shots after asking us the vibe and they were fresh and light and strong and tantalizing. We will be here whenever we need a place to go and this bar is a fantastic addition to the NYC/BK queer bar lineup. Don’t forget to take a pic in their magenta lit bathroom while you’re here.
Went to Good Judy our first evening visiting NYC. The bartenders were friendly, the patio was quaint, and Nina upstairs put on a fun show. Definitely would recommend checking out on a Wednesday evening.
A joyful neighborhood gay bar. This place is an important little haven
The entire staff are a delight! I love them all especially Paige, Luke , Ian & Jack! If you want a great cocktail get the Seriously! Its the best 😊❤
June 2023-This has become one of my go-to bars. Gingers and Cmon Everybody round out that trifecta. Their summer block parties are very fun, good drag shows.2020 or 2021, probably-A great addition to queer Brooklyn! Due to the pandemic, seating is out front and out back, but the inside space is really cute and itll be nice to hang out eventually. The bartenders were very friendly.
LOVE this spot! the bartenders are all so lovely, the space is cute as hell, and the events upstairs are so fun! piano karaoke, the drag shows, dance parties. love this spot so much
The bar looks nice but we couldn’t even go in and enjoy it since they’re still asking for vaccination cards, and not all my friends had them. It’s just really foolish that the city has gotten rid of this requirement and yet the bar is still requiring it? This is simply poor management. So thousands of us are on the subway with homeless people sneezing and coughing, and we’re all interacting with other New Yorkers all day, but the gay bar is where the line is crossed? Just makes no sense. I fear this place will be closing down soon due to lack of support if they don’t end these ridiculous restrictions.
Look, its great this bar offers Saturday celebrations on 5th Ave and ppl always have a good time. BUT for the sake of your neighbors PLEASE can you offer more bathrooms or something. People are drinking then peeing right outside our apartment building on the corner of 16th St and 5th ave. They pee squatting behind parked cars and today they were peeing INSIDE our external stairwells (which is BTW private property). Like if you cant hold it in, and you gotta pee, whatever, but there are kids around!!!! Is this what you want to bring to the neighborhood????? Its been going on last year and this year and Im so sick and tired of this ATROCIOUS behavior.
🙏🙏🙏🙏🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋 DJ your music …. beats , Remixes - spirit was out of the world you made a very magic Friday night . I couldn’t stopped dancing .Strongly recommended place.Completely different from any queer places I have been ❤️ and real house, disco , r&b , soul , deep house music lovers - This place will surprise you with quality music and interesting crowd
My Black friend waited 20 minutes today to reorder drinks while the bartender kept taking the orders of the people behind him. The white people behind him. People who arrived after him. Totally looked past him. Hmmmm. Finally he give up and walked away. Felt really bad about being ignored. Told a manager. Absolutely no response from him other then the pat “Oh my. I’ll speak with him”. We waited a bit for a follow up that never came. Manager proceeded to just walk past us.There’s a bad vibe if you don’t look like the rest of the crowd. Yes that happens even in Park Slope. I’ve lived there for 40 years so I know what I’m talking about.
I was charged two extra drinks on Brooklyn Pride, didnt realize it until I got my receipt via email. After days of trying to find a contact number or email, I was told I need it to have my bank dispute iota dispute it they FourSquare (the method payment). I was just told they reviewed my case and didnt find anything wrong. No one contacted me, no one asked fro a receipt.
The bartenders aren’t on the same page for the page with the covid policies. One time I went in and wasn’t asked for my vaccine paper. One time I went in and was asked for it.I didn’t have my phone with me that second time and spent ten minutes trying to get my passport on my friend’s phone. I couldn’t retrieve it and was told to leave and come back with it.Ironically while I was searching for my paperwork I was allowed to stay in the bar. Anyway, I left and came back with my covid passport and the bartender never even asked to see it!The whole experience felt very unwelcoming and tainted the bar for my friend and I.If covid is such a priority for Good Judy, why are the actions so inconsistent?
I could not be happier that this bar opened in my area. I’ve already been a few times and the drinks are good, service is really great, and I’m so happy with what they’ve done with that backyard. It’s so nice to have an actual queer space in South Brooklyn.
I looooove Good Judy. The frozen lemonade, the amazing and attentive (and adorable) staff, the backyard... just everything. So happy a great new queer space opened in the old Excelsior spot. Cannot say enough good things about this place.
Wednesday karaoke was amazing. Great energy and the pianist was so talented and a great host.
This bay was a 🏳️🌈 bar. It was pretty busy, there was karaoke going up stairs. Pretty cool bar
Ive been twice. With only five tables, the server was MIA both times. Last night another table actually pointed to our table as we were trying to get the servers attention. He wouldnt even look in our direction. Finally be begrudgingly came to our table. Two times, two different servers. Impossible to get a second round. Didnt bother staying for a third.
This is my favorite queer bar!
Do the due diligence and check website for entry requirements. Its states Staff is masked, you have to be masked, and taking temps. So I have everything, pay for Uber to get there, only to be told, its NOT TRUE, need vax card by an UNMASKED employee.COMPLETE waste of time and money.
More like Great Judy! The drinks are actually good which automatically sets them apart from most gay bars heh.
Craft cocktails, great service, and queer company in and unstuffy but well appointed space. Bring your friends and kick back in their outdoor patio.
One of my fav queer bars in NYC
Loved this place. Sat on the back patio and felt totally safe, everything was socially distanced. Great service and the Sandia lemonade was v good. Definitely recommend!
The sandia lemonade is amazing, the whole place is adorable, and the servers are sweet and fun. So glad this gem is around the corner from me!
Very cute back patio space, great service, and - most importantly - delicious drinks with a generous pour. Will definitely return!
No hello no what u having to drink🧨. Waited 10 minutes. Ghost town BAR. 5 people
Super cute queer bar with lonely staff and events
Theyve done a good job making the space and vibe feel new. Happy to have another gay bar in Brooklyn.
If it’s this amazing during covid I can’t wait to party here afterwards. Staff is so lovely and the drinks are great.
Excellent, attentive service and fun atmosphere. Free pretzel bites to boot. Highly recommend!
Excellent drinks and service! Just an all around happy safe space.
Best gay bar & management in Brooklyn hands down.
Friendly staff, great drinks and a lovely vibe.
This place was fine and clean. But the staff was quite unfriendly. Would not come back.
Nice experience bartenders are super cool!
This place is adorable. Great backyard patio. Sweet bartenders.
It’s a good time and a great staff = great vibes
Great place to hangout
I had an amazing time with friends here. I love this place so much!

I appreciate the different sections of this place with different vibes.
