Im not from Boston, but every time I visit I make it a point to come here. Havent gotten such a good massage for such a good price anywhere! Nina did an amazing job working out all the knots (with perfectly strong pressure) in my shoulders and upper back, and my mom had a good experience too.I love that the masseuses use their hands, forearms, and elbows to get a variety of pressures. We tipped about $16 for a 60 min massage, and the total was still less than most places baseline prices.

Getting a weekly massage is part of my health routine. I have had deep massages around the world 🌎 but my deep tissue massage I experienced from Linda at massage ultra in Cambridge ma is one of the best. The place is also clean with an all around friendly professional staff. I highly recommend the great place to my friends and others.Jonas Thompson.

Good massage! Order, rhythm, style, and intensity were all good. Music and lighting was good. Sheets were clean and place was neat. Payment was confusing, it’s listed as $45.99 outside … so I thought I would withdraw $60 (3 twenties) before leaving. There is apparently a $14 minimum tip for a 60 minute massage, so I’m glad I brought $60… but I guess you’re expected to tip more. Next I’m I’ll bring $65?

Its a solid deal for the price (including the expected tip), just be sure to bring exact change. Ive been going for nearly a year and there have been a few duds in terms of low effort for the duration of the massage, but overall been happy enough to keep returning. That said, the couple of times that I needed to break large bills they said sorry we dont have change and you can take it from the tip next time - but then they conveniently dont remember the last visits or that you paid double the expected tip with agreement to offset on a subsequent appointment & will be confrontational about it - which is the last thing you want when the whole point in being there is to relax... I dont care that they advertise $46 for an hour and expect $60 - thats still a good deal; I just dont appreciate the runaround for payments. Ive tipped well beyond the $60 total when they do a great job, but dont like feeling forced to tip when they dont put in full effort.

TERRIBLE attitude and service!! I have been with massage ultra for 3 years and I always feel very satisfied when I leave. But this time the MASSEUSES with GLASSES, gave me terrible attitude when i was late 8 minutes, she used very demanding tone to inform me that I only gonna get 45min massage when I started. I didn’t argue with her at the moment since I just want to relax. But When I pay$14 recommended tip at checkout, she said I should pay $20. I was like “yeah but you only massaged me 45min”. And she very rudely commented “yes because you are late and you can find another person to massage you.” Even I was late, it’s unacceptable with her rude attitude and bad massage skills.

Relaxing massage. Nice music playing. Easy to book and pay. Great idea for a gift. The place itself is nothing fancy, but your eyes are closed anyways so doesn’t matter. Recommend this place if you want to treat yourself to a good massage without paying the price of very fancy places.

LOOK AT THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS. Would leave 0 stars if I could. I had Lizhen (not sure spelling?), who was okay at the massage but harassed me at the end. The massage was nothing special: it was mainly a rub, not actual massage, and it wasn’t even the full time, a few minutes but still. She conveniently had to go out several times for things for the massage and it felt like little ways to chip off time. At the end, I went to venmo her. For reference, I’ve gotten a massage before at Bodyone. Little pricier but worth it and much cleaner and more polite. Whenever I paid there, there was not even an option for tip, nor was it mentioned. At that point, I didn’t even think tipping was a thing for massages. So, I go to pay her the $70 for the service with a $15 tip (OVER 20%). She looks at the transaction and straight up tells me “no” and that I “didn’t pay her enough.” I guess she assumed I was inexperienced with my age and tried to lie to me and say I had to tip x amount. HAD to. I have worked in the service industry for 6 years; I get it, but this was insane. I wasn’t even planning on tipping, but I did over 20%, and she argued with me for several minutes and insisted that a 36% tip was required. I told her that’s what I’m tipping and that’s it, and she tells me to just send her $5 more and it’ll be fine. I was absolutely enraged. So disrespectful and inappropriate. There was no manager there for me to speak to, but I’m planning on calling to get money back. Go to BodyOne with Luz (spelling?), NOT here! Invest a little more to be treated like a human being with focus on body areas you need, instead of this place which completely ignored the pre-arrivals forms related to your needs. Insane.

I had a 90 minute massage with Amy and WOW! Best massage of my life. I went in with extreme tension, tightness, and pain in my neck, back, & shoulders, and I left feeling better than I have felt in a long time. At first I was skeptical because her methods were unconventional, but I quickly realized that she was doing EXACTLY what I needed to feel relieved. Such an affordable service and I recommend this place to anyone looking to get a massage.

Good massage, but they definitely tried to haggle pricing with me afterwards, inconsistent with the poster behind them outlining advertised pricing + tip for hours if you enjoyed the massage, and inconsistent with the pricing they gave a friend of mine earlier. I paid the extra money anyways which came out to a ~50% tip

This is an amazing $45 massage! The massage therapists know exactly what they’re doing. They will work your body so well and leave you feeling physically refreshed.

I honestly get a better massage here than expensive boojie spas. Cons is it can be a little noisy the walls are a bit thin but every one of the workers gives 100% effort.

The masseuse farted in the middle of my session. Lol yup. Let me back up. My experience here was a while ago. It was my birthday and I requested a room with my friends for a group massage. The lady on the phone confirmed that this could be done but when I got there, the women at the front desk kind of scolded me? They kept saying that we couldnt do a group massage. Only 2 ppl max were allowed in a room and they separated me from my friends. It felt awful to be separated from my friends on my birthday. I got placed in another room right behind the front desk that faced the front street. It was loud because I could hear all the cars and the entrance bell every time someone entered through the door. Even as my massage started, the lady kept talking about the group booking issue. The massage was also terrible. I asked for light pressure but she was pretty rough, pressing and pushing in areas that left me very sore for the week after. Just as things were starting to feel a bit calm, she FARTED. It was loud enough for us both to hear (though thank god not strong enough for me to smell lol). The sound sat in the air. We both pretended not to hear it as she continued to manhandle my butt. I didnt know what to say or do so I just laid there quietly accepting that this was the worst massage of my life. Afterwards, there was this very weird pressure to tip a lot more than necessary. It was strange. I hope theyve changed but that was a terrible experience. Happy birthday to me lol.

Wasnt what I expected. Theres is a special advertisement on their website Insaw earlier this week (2/21/23) for a 30 minute massage that includes: a full body (its really my back, my neck, my back legs and the back of my thighs), deep tissue massage and hot stones upon request. I expected them to honor what is advertised. The massage therapist I had did an OK job but didnt give me the hot stones I expected. Not pleased. I go to pay for what was done. I inquire about the advertisement and show her. She was barley able to clarify and then when I paid she expected a full tip of $14! I said I will tip her what I want to tip especially for the massage she gave me without the stones. Again, I was not pleased with my service today. I will not use them anymore. I advise to ensure that you get what you expected if you ever come to this place for a massage and tipping is voluntary.

We were hoping to love this place. The massages were good but all the relaxation was lost after the massage. The therapists demanded more than a 20% tip. Points to a sign that clearly says recommended! Tips are supposed to be by choice not forced. So instead of them losing the extra $6 tip they will now be losing at least $80 as we will never go back.

The massage was great and at a decent price. However, we planned on leaving a 25% tip ($20 extra) and they asked for more on top of that. I get it, tips would be more if they charged more for the service. However, it is extremely rude to point blank ask for a larger tip. Especially when 25% is already generous. They will not receive my business again due to their audacity.

Take precaution, DO NOT go here! The room is dirty. The massage chair is not clean. They use the same cover for at least more than one person because they take one person after another without changing the massage table. I felt gross after leaving that place. The woman walked in; barely said a word; mumbled something that I could barely understood. Then I noticed that she had on the earbuds throughout the service. The massage was for 60 min(30 min foot, 30 min body). IT WAS NOT! It was NOT a massage but just a hand rub. I wanted her to stop wasting my time but she did not hear me because of the earbuds. Then the tip was another joke! I want to tip them well, but instead, I was harassed into tipping more than what they deserved. This place is a dump and the service was done by a non- masseuse. Service was performed by a bunch of unprofessional people. If you want to breathe in musty and dusty environment besides paying for bad service then this is the place to go. By the way, the intake survey is a BIG joke! They dont understand English and cant read so its useless! NEVER return! I would select 0 STAR if allow!

Terrible experience. Massage was sub par , didn’t hit any pressure points. In the middle of the massage the lady repeatedly questioned how I was going to pay. Booked for 90 minutes, got less than 75 and then was charged for 90. Have had hundreds of massages, this was by far the worst experience, 0/10 would not recommend.

First time on Saturday….had a 1hr massage for $40…..the massage was excellent…and staff so friendly….still can’t believe I had such a knowledgeable practitioner and and unhurried massage…I felt so good leaving and knowing I will be back!Check it out you can’t go wrong!Joseph

Fabulous massage! Great staff. Ive tried several therapists and all have been wonderful, especially Debbie. The prices are so low that you should tip your therapist generously (e.g., 2 hour massage for $80 - where else will you find that?). The massage rooms are private, dim, with tranquil spa music and totally relaxing. Do yourself a favor and try. I highly recommend.

Ive been to this location twice now and had excellent experiences both times. They offer thorough deep tissue massage and really get in there. The hot stones are very relaxing. The place is no frills but is clean enough. Bring cash and plan to pay the recommended tip - its still a better deal than anywhere else. I have paid far more for more mediocre massages. English is limited which can be awkward but isnt a big deal.

Ive been to the one in Brookline which I liked but live closer to here now. I reserved a spot for the 120min. The space seems temporary and it didnt really feel relaxing in the room. The massage was okay but they didnt seemed trained. The weirdest part was paying. I brought enough cash for tip and then planned to pay for the massage with card. When I went to give the tip and pay with a card, the lady just said they take card but cash is better. They do have an ATM but to say theyll take card but then refuse to take my card and make me withdraw cash was weird. This mainly weirded me out because the brookline location was not like this at all and I paid before hand.

My first time at this location. Amazing massage just as good at the Waltham location. Unfortunately, I wont be coming back to this location. We tipped 20% and they were laughing, being rude and trying to say that the tip wasnt enough. Be careful and don’t let this place think you stupid.

I had a great massage with Linda as she worked out some tightness and impingement in my shoulder. She was friendly and did a nice job of regulating the pressure throughout the massage.

This is THE ultimate massage spot! For the quality and value of the massage, it cant be beat. Ive been for individual and couples massages at this location. The masseuses are highly professional and skilled at deep tissue massage. I recommend the one hour long, full body massage with hot stones. If youre looking for ultra relaxation, look no further.

I have been to this place a few times, but after my last experience I will never go back. My boyfriend and I went here for the first time initially because its an hour long massage for $39.99 which is a great price. The place itself isnt the best looking, but we got a pretty good massage so it was worth the money. When we went to leave the first time, we each went to leave a $10 tip (over 20%) however the staff refused to take the $10 and pointed to a sign on the counter saying suggested tip of $12 (which is 30%). My boyfriend and I just gave them the $12 and everyone seemed happy. We went back a few times throughout the last year and always left a $12 tip and had no issue. However, we went to get massages for my birthday and had THE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. We got our hour massage which was great overall, however the two masseuses talked to each other nonstop for the first 10 or so minutes of the massage. Throughout the massage it was also pretty loud (banging noises outside the room etc.) but overall it was good. Then when my boyfriend went to pay and leave a $12 tip like normal, the staff literally yelled at us and called us cheap. My boyfriend ended up leaving them $15 each which they were still very vocally upset about, but looking back I wish we didnt leave them anything. Tip is optional, not expected! We are always happy to leave 20% (or 30% in this case) however being asked for more tip and being yelled at, especially when there is even a clear sign asking for 30% which we gave, is inexcusable. All of our relaxation was lost and we will not be back.

April 2022 edit:Bumping up to 5 stars from 3. Went back again yesterday and while the tipping policy mentioned below is still there, I had an incredible massage from Judy.Massage was quite good. However as others have mentioned the tipping thing is really tough. I gave a 25% tip and got told that wasn’t enough. It’s still a good deal, but I really wish they would just raise their prices to take the guess work out of tipping. I don’t know that I’ll go back.

This is a very affordable no-frills place to get a solid massage. The staff here were very friendly and accommodating, and the massage left me feeling limber and invigorated. Make sure to bring cash or your debit card.

This little hole in the wall massage parlor was one of those you get what you pay for. Very reasonable price of 30.00 for a half hour massage, 40.00 for an hour. Jessica is the only masseuse and she did a great job, however I just wish she did a full body massage and not just stop at my lower back. For a quick in and out massage, this is a good quick and easy spot. If youre looking for more spa type massage, this is not the place for you.

Called last minute for a massage with a friend at the Porter sq location. They accommodated us with short notice. Massage was great, spent a lot of time of the back/shoulder that were tighter. Paying with cards has a fee so better cash. Price is still very affordable

Not a great place to get a massage. 39.99 is a great value - but was pressured to give extra tip. The massage was awful. The masseuse stepped on my back for 40 minutes. The day after, I felt so much discomfort in my back that I would not return.

I walked in and within 10 minutes was seen by Tiffany for a one-hour pain relief/relaxation session. She gave me one of the best massages Ive ever had! I needed very deep tissue and she was able to do it wonderfully. I think she even realigned my back. A great experience and a really good deal at $40/hr (plus tip).Also theres really beautiful original artwork inside!

I went twice. First time great and the staff was polite. After I got on the hook, the second time, the staff became lazy. She said that her thumb was painful and stopped working on my stiff area. When I paid, I paid over 35% tip. She was very unhappy and said that the tip was too low. The staffs name was Linda.These people are so greedy. It could have been a pleasant experience, but this Linda persons greediness and moaning spoiled it. If its so painful, then dont do this job.

Three times now this business has booked appointments using my email address and my name, but I have not booking any appointments; Im in a different state. The lady on the phone from Massage Ultra was extremely rude when I called, trying to figure out why theyre booking appointments under my name and would not provide an explanation I dont have time for this she said.

My girlfriend and I had a great time here! My body left feeling so relaxed after the deep tissue massage. They did a great job, and were not afraid to use lots of pressure like many other massage places. Their great service cannot be beat, especially when paired with a great low price.

If youre picky and paying $40 dollars for an hour long massage, I honestly dont know what youre expecting. If you want a good massage at an unbeatable price, this is your place. The rooms are tiny, the level of fluent English varies, but Ive been here a number of times and never had a bad experience. Lovely people, easy scheduling, cheap as hell. Go in with low expectations and theyll beat them. Go in expecting the same service as whatll cost you over $100 after tip elsewhere, and youre not going to like it. (Tip generously! Its still unbeatable at $60!)

I had a 90-minute deep tissue massage, and boy did they deliver. I like a lot of pressure, but this was the strongest massage I think Ive ever had. Sometimes with a 90-minute massage I start to fall asleep and it goes by too fast. Not this one--I felt every minute of it and was like putty at the end. If that sounds appealing, ask for Alison.The before and after experience is low on frills, but who cares? (I dont.) If you want a great massage at an unbeatable price, you cant do better. Ill definitely visit again.

I have been to the Waltham location and had a positive experience. I was hoping for a similar experience at the Cambridge location instead I walked away feeling boundaries were crossed. Also, on top of that, I was actually sneezed on during the massage while both hands were on my back. No covering or turning of the face literally felt the sneeze on my back. DISGUSTING! Only to see at the end the misuse did not have a mask up. Will not be going back.

I got full body 60 mins massage from Lily and I cannot tell you how good it was. I had severe neck issues for 6 months and she addressed my concerns and gave me massgae for that specific problem. Highly recommend Lily if you are visiting massage ultra.

They forced me to pay crazy rate tip and the attitude after paying was sucks. On top of that, the massage itself was mediocre.

Amazing & very soothing. My massuse was wonderful and adjusted the level of pressure according to my wishes! Would suggest white noise machines outside of doors to block out voices at the front desk and everyone should be instructed to use quiet voices in hallway & near front entrance.

Good availability, very average massage. The masseuses nails were scratchy, and she wouldnt focus on the areas of my shoulder and neck when I asked. She wanted to stick to her preferred order. Also I marked my hands asavoid on the questionnaire which wasnt kept in mind by her. Not much deep tissue work, more palm open massaging. For some reason they use lotion and not oil, such isnt as comfortable. So I feel slightly better, but my sore muscle spots remain.

My daughter and I came here with the intention of a receiving a relaxing massage on our days off but were unfortunately greatly disappointed. We left in much more pain than when we arrived. Although the women were nice and made an effort to speak english and connect, It was a very unprofessional disconnected and boundary-crossing experience and we will absolutely not be returning.

Brookline - Massage is good but all relaxation went away when I paid 25% tip but was forced to pay more tip than 25%. Very rude staffs, in the mid of conversation, they just went away and told we cant understand English.

At this point, this place just fleeces you. Handed over 60 dollars for the 40 dollar massage and asked for 5 back (for a 15 dollar tip). Had to argue and insist multiple times for that 5 dollars despite the recommended tip on the wall saying 14 dollars lol.

Good enough for what you pay for. Nothing luxurious. Nice staff. Noises can still be heard of the outside street or and between rooms. Some easy things that can be improved on by the staff are the talking/shouting between walls.
