A great joint for football/soccer fans with many screens scattered around inside and an outdoor space. It gets a little hectic on big games, naturally. They know how to pour a pint, they serve ok bar food (the pizzas seem to be the best choice), but the atmosphere and the kind, albeit frantic, service are what make the place tick.
Absolutely love this pub. They host weekly DnB nights on Thursdays which are an absolute blast. Small intimate setting with great sound and feel good vibes from both the staff and attendees. The bartenders were super warm and friendly. I love the idea of a night out dancing and having a fat selection of beers on tap and cocktails to choose from. They even make espresso till the early hours of the morning which is a great pick me up after dancing all night.
I would totally come back to watch a soccer game: The environment inside and outside was great, and there were plenty of screens inside. The food was not good: the chicken wings tasted old (almost spoiled) and the pizza was sad. The draft beer was great tho.Service was tough bc it was a busy night. We had a situation with one of the security ppl refused to let my friends in after stepping out for a bit, even though they were already “in” and still had an open check.
I was visiting Boston for the first time from the UK and a friend of mine told me to head for The Phoenix Landing to watch Liverpool v Man City. Well, I have to say that this is probably one of the best bars in the world to watch a live football game. It was packed, but everyone was in great spirtits. There were a lot of big screens and TVs so watching the game was no problem at all and the staff behind the bar were fantastic. Theres even an outside area. If you are a sports fan I cannot recomment this place enough. Also a massive thanks to LFC Boston who can usually be found there for most games.
I stopped by the Phoenix on a recommendation from a fellow Brit to try the fish n chips. Theyre definitely the best Ive tried in the US. Nice and crispy haddock fillets and warm soft fries. I soaked everything in malt vinegar, sprinkled on my or salt and the next thing I know, my plate was empty. Delicious with a pint of Guinness. Will definitely be back. We sat outside a on a beautiful Spring Day and enjoyed the soundtrack of Cambridge life going by while the friendly Irish barman brought us our food and drink.
Great bar with surprisingly cheap drinks, good music, and a chill, fun crowd. After ten or so the DJ starts up and the dance floor kicks off, but the tables up front are still quiet enough to talk with people and sit for a minute. I lost a sweatshirt here and a bartender found it and kept it for me for months. Awesome place. Pictured is my whisky pinapple which was pretty good.
Fantastic place to watch Premier League matches, especially Liverpool. Service is great, beer selection is solid and theres always a good atmosphere. Highly recommended.
Nice place to watch soccer matches. Good combination of multiple spaces: bar, restaurant and club one beside the other.
My experience here has been the best, I went for a few matches of the Russia 2018 World Cup. For the Saturday match of Argentina 🇦🇷 vs France 🇫🇷 the line was down the block and the game was available on multiple screens and easy to watch if you didn’t mind the dark atmosphere and raucous crowd. Fun times and probably going back to watch the UEFA Final because it was so fun.
My cousin and I attempted to come here. My cousin was given a hard time by the bouncer. I asked what the problem was. The bouncer said, Your cousin looks twisted. Then the bouncer starts playing games on his phone. AVOID this place!
If you love good pints, delicious food and of course Liverpool FC or, in fact, sports in general, get yourself down to the Phoenix. Youll be glad you did.
I’ve enjoyed watching soccer here for many years. The food isnt great. The service is generally poor. There aren’t many bars that show soccer so it’s easy to overlook those issues. But I had to walk out this morning. All of the TVs kept freezing. There was clearly an issue with the streaming. No one could seem to figure it out or really care. Management/ownership needs to figure it out. This isn’t the first time there have been issues with the TVs but probably my worst experience. You can’t have a soccer bar and so frequently have issues showing the matches.
My apologies for not having the best picture but in my defense the place was packed so good that I was not able to. If you love soccer (originally football) and you want to see the real craze here in Boston then you must visit Phoenix landing. This place is dedicated for English soccer Team Liverpool FC. Very few might know this but the Owner of Boston Red Sox and Liverpool FC are the same, so it has a personal touch. It’s gets so packed that we had to come in a hour before the game started. This place is packed with awesome beers, good selection of cocktails and drinks. Food is equally good and the awesome bartenders are the added bonus. Not only Live soccer, this place is packed with things to do. Everything they feature something special like DJ night etc. Parking my be had so make sure you have that sorted out. Once you are here you will definitely enjoy every bit of it.
Pretty good beer selection and well-priced, but the food really isnt good. The nachos were...bad. Mediocre chips that were cold, served with a sprinkling of cheese not really melted well and stale iceberg lettuce. The quesadilla...not good. The burgers...meh. Good spot for trivia on Wednesday nights, though! Just plan to eat elsewhere or at home.
The place you want to come to watch Liverpool matches in Boston. Its a heavily traffied bar to their due hard fans. They do solid breakfasts as most games start early AM. Lines start around 9AM depending on the game. Will gradually let people in around 930AM. Cant serve alcohol till 10AM so keep that in mind. Solid spot to watch the game though.
Decent little dive bar on a great street in a great location. And they serve Scrimshaw beer so theres that! Its a little tight on the stage for a band and the lightings not great but the sound was pretty good. Had the nachos and fried calamari which was about what youd expect from a 3 star drive bar. All in all had a nice evening out.
Very disappointed. Waiter constantly got things wrong and forgot orders. Food was bland. Everything was expensive. Flatbread was $15 and it was tiny. Covered in random lettuce for some reason (see pic for example). The fries/chips were dry and seemed microwaved. They need Gordon Ramsay to come in and help them out.Pink lemonade was good though!
Beloved bar manager Delores runs a great room with super friendly staff (Deidre, Dani, Michaud, Russel, Bill, Dan, John, John, Constantine...) - day & night!Dont miss Lenore, Fox, & DnB fam for the longest running Drum & Bass night in America: Elements, weekly Thursdays.Techno is served up weekly on Tuesdays via Jose, Pi, Jon, & Rickys modular.Re:set Wednesdays, inherited from darling Pat Fontes, brings house grooves hosted by Matt, Molly, Zach, & Charles.
Legendary Cambridge music venue with awesome owners, and staff. The Phoenix is of my favorite venue since I was 19 y/o. They feature great sound and production for a little central square bar. The fish and chips dish is to boot! I dont drink anymore so I havent been in a while. Im overdue!
Ok. Its a cool spot over all. Decent bar. Although they didnt carry 1800 tequila. 3 amazing attentive speedy bartenders. There are two exits. Ladies room has 3 stalls and was very well lit, stocked and clean. The DJ booth area is way in the back from the entrance which was kind of an awkward setup to me. Especially for general people flow and in case of emergency. its a pretty decent spot in Cambridge for Monday night reggae and dancehall. Crowd was nice and diverse mix although predominantly POC. Also there was a lot of security and police presence despite it being a smaller venue.
Great place... ask for a drink and watch your favourite teams game!! Amazing service as well!
Lively pub turns into nightclub later on. We only had drinks & watched sports. Plenty of screens & very attentive bar staff.
Super expensive drinks.. but I did enjoy the atmosphere so 🤷
Fun place for 20-something’s to dance and drink!
Beers are pretty good but the servers are unbelievably inattentive.
Drum n bass nights Thursdays is the best, and longest running night in the 617
Great Pub atmosphere with excellent fish and chips
Food is ok. The atmosphere outside is ok. Service is slow and mediocre. Waited outside after I had been seated for a while to even order a drink. Then I was told I had to give up a credit card even though I wasnt ordering alcohol. The server was very annoyed that I asked why that was. The whole experience is just MEH.
Curry chicken is delicious. Dinner service is great. Recently visited for breakfast. Food was great but my husband got his plate before mine. By the time I got my plate, my husband finished his.
Really great bar food, and they have delicious pizza now. Also fantastic music almost every night of the week. Been going here for years and we love it.
The exterior isnt appealing, the interior is okay, and I had to wait a while for a table. BUT... this place served one of the best Irish Breakfasts Ive had outside Ireland. The Irish bacon was especially tasty. Portions were a little on the small side, but it was really excellent. If I was going to pick a shortcoming, Id have to note that they omitted the sauteed mushrooms. Still, I would go back just for the breakfast!
I was not expecting much when I came here, specifically I was expecting mediocre pub food but I was impressed with their food - nachos, curry fries, wings were all delicious! My waiter was a bit of an odd character who honestly seemed to hate my table or maybe just didn’t like working service, but it didn’t dull my experience
Stopped in on a Sunday afternoon with another family in between youth soccer games; we had 6 kids between us and theyre all soccer players and fanatics. We sat outside and they had a large TV with Liverpool v. Tottenham. Food menu was limited but everything was great. Service was attentive, quick and friendly. A nice gentleman (maybe the owner) was nice enough to move the kids to a table closer to the TV so they could see the game- without being asked. This type of service is unusual in this day and age, and its much appreciated. One of the few things that my family can all agree on is our dislike for Liverpool FC. With that said, this LFC-centric bar is top notch and we hope to stop in again to visit again soon.
If you are a rugby or soccer fan, you will have a great group of fans here.
Don’t go here for brunch. They claim to be the official supporters bar for Liverpool and they open early on game days for brunch. Service is incredibly slow. Ordered food and drink before kickoff and didn’t even see the food until well after the second half started. Asked for check right away due to how slow the service was. Didn’t see my check until after the game ended and the check came back wrong. Had to send it back to get fixed. Didn’t actually leave until 30 minutes after the game ended. To add insult to injury, they automatically included a 20% to the bill. I am all for tipping and supporting a waitstaff, but automatically adding 20% on top of completely substandard service seems a bit presumptuous. Complete waste of time and turned what should have been a fun experience into an ordeal.
Wonderful vibe, lovely bartenders!
Came here for Wednesday night trivia for the first and last time.Thankfully someone in my party of five arrived around 6:20pm to snag a table because it was packed. Theres also seating outside for those who want to participate. The bar also seemed to always have folks who came solely for drinks. The trivia questions spanned a variety of topics and levels of difficulty, where only one or two of us in the group knew the answer. They also had creative formats, although apparently a portion of questions that were presented in GIF form didnt load for some groups. What we struggled with however was just how loud the place gets. It was difficult to hear the hosts (and each other) even though we were seated right by the front, as tables around us were screaming and cackling all night long. We could text the hosts questions and concerns, including to turn the volume up, but then other people would ask to turn the volume back down. We also didnt anticipate how long itd be, with it lasting around 2.5 hours. The hosts were also trying their best trying to navigate technical difficulties with the mic cutting out in the middle of sentences. As for food and drinks, I got a can of Downeast Cider and Hoisin BBQ Chicken Fingers. Nothing special, but thats as can be expected at a generic sports bar. Since an influx of people come in for 7pm trivia, definitely expect a wait for your food.Overall, its a fun place to do trivia, but if your hearing isnt great and you dont enjoy asking people to repeat themselves a billion times in a night, Id pass.
Despite being labeled as the official Liverpool bar in Boston, this establishment exhibits a clear bias against English patrons. They went so far as to mute the English national anthem during the World Cup last year. If you identify as English, it is advisable to steer clear of this place.
We went for trivia and had a blast! The host was great. It was hard to hear at our table toward the door, so next time wed get a closer table. The drinks and food were good, definitely a step above bar food.
We found this place while exploring the area. At first we walked by thinking it was more of just a bar and not a restaurant. After going up and down the street we chose it because in the end the other restaurants seemed very high priced. What a gem of a place. The food was great. I ordered the vegetarian salad and wow. I got this huge bowl!! No way I could finish that. It was delicious, tasted really fresh and the house dressing was perfect.Hubby got steak and potatoes and he said it was delicious. It was busy so we waited a while for the food but hey it was summertime. The waitresses were hustling though. The restaurant was unique inside, had real street lights for decor.Yes I definitely would eat here again.
The absolute best place to watch a Liverpool game! Perfect pint of Guinness, great food and an atmosphere like no other
Fun atmosphere but unfortunately I was treated poorly. After being admitted based on an ID check and starting a tab, I went back for a second drink and showed my ID so the bartender could see my name. She then took my ID and messed with it for a few minutes before rejecting it based on the bogus criterion that it’s bendable. It proved to be just as bendable as the bouncer’s and others at the bar. I was escorted out. I would like the staff to address this and abstain from arbitrary judgement going forward.
It was okay. I walk in with four people behind the bar, I smile and nobody greets me. When I sit down, one nice lady eventually greets me with a warm hello. She helps me get the football game on the TV and gets me a drink. For the next hour and a half I have two drinks watching the game, then find out that there is a private party coming in and we have to leave in the next 20 minutes. With only about 6 customers in the establishment, I still had to try hard to get someones attention for my second drink and my tab. In short, I did not feel welcomed. I will give them the benefit of the doubt that they were stressed about this party coming in soon, there were some pleasant employees and some not so pleasant, but really not a nice experience.
I had one of my most fond memories watching soccer at this place. The atmosphere was electric and there were supporters of teams of all kinds comingling and having a grand ol time. Beer was easy to get and the pub had a great ambience. 5 stars for sure!
I had a great time at the Phoenix last night. It was reggae night and the DJ is awesome. He played todays and ole school reggae music which was nice. Crowd wasnt bad. Took the crowd some time to catch up to me dancing, but thats never stopped me. I could dance all night long! Plus, I met up with a beautiful 61 hunk of chocolate that I met on a dating site. We had fun dancing and talking and plan to see one another again. So if you like reggae and dancing come in it to the Phoenix on Monday nights.
Great little club and has the distinguished honour of hosting the longest running drum and bass weekly night in the world, coming up on 25 years. Props to them!
Elements. Awesome Molly, great bartender. Mollys professionalism and attention to patrons needs was well noticed. Almost like you were in her house and she was simply taking care of her guests. More Molly!!
Let me explain why i give here just one star. We ordered cocktail, and there was a hair inside of the cocktail. We wanted to change that, and I put the decorated lime inside of the cocktail. After few minutes, server brought a new cocktail, but we found there was a lime still inside of the drink. Also, ice seemed melt down, which means they just changed the glass.I dont know why they did like this but i want to say this. Be honest!
Really good food and drinks. Appetizers, cocktails, shots you name it they nail it! Prices are nominal considering its Cambridge area and it is typical dive bar. They took care of all covid-19 guidelines and with a qr code menu ! Anyhow their curried fries were amazing and also to mention their wings. I am really impressed by the appetizers selection as well as its taste, which elevated your experience And makes you want to continue your party
Went there for England vs US game. They purposely turned off the sound for English national anthem. Then blasted sound for US anthem. Pretty disrespectful if you ask me, especially when the pride themselves on showing the ENGLISH Premier League. No thanks mate!
Cool place. Good beers. Great people , and bar staff. I enjoyed the company, and the bartender really knew soccer and had Interesting insights on the game. Its a sports bar that emphasizes soccer , and is filled with Liverpool fans. If youre looking for a soccer bar in Cambridge, this is the place to go.
I want to preface this review with the fact that I am not a soccer fan, so with this bar being dedicated to soccer fandom I may have been out of place. This is a pretty spacious dive/sports bar mix that has some decent quality food. The problem that I ran into was that the servings were quite small despite decently high prices. They had some very creative dishes though that made it still a fairly good experience. The waitstaff wasnt all that attentive despite the fact that when I visited I was only one of 4 parties in the room.
Been coming here for a while now mostly on weekends. This is a good place to dance and get drinks. It is a combination of college students (undergraduate and graduate students), working professionals (in their 20s and 30s) and tourists looking to have a good time. There can be a long line sometimes on Friday and Saturday nights. On weekends the music is mostly 90s, 2000s, and other more recent pop, hip hop, rap and some RnB. Its a fun time here! I definitely recommend it.
The best spot in Cambridge to watch soccer, especially as a Liverpool fan. Good food and beer rounds out the pub style. Come early to watch major games
Fun place. Very low key and lots of fun people. Mix of pop and 90s on Fridays. Food is okay during the evening before dance floor opens, and they have soccer on TV when big games are going on. So thats a plus.
Good music many days a week, other days youll want to jump off the bar. They have a decent tap list, reasonable drinks, and nice staff. Its been here forever, and Ill keep visiting! Go for some great drum and bass on Thursday nights.
Great night with friends to listen to some good soul pumping HOUSE MUSIC. The crowd is great friendly drinks are kinda weak but beers are cheap 2 for $13.00 plus a $2.00 tip not bad.
This bar is gritty and dirty, but in a good way. The place is a throwback to a regular bar, long before micro brews and beer gardens. I went with my husband for a drink before going home just because we never went before. The bartender was cool. Im not a big drinker, so I asked the bartender for a random cocktail and, she made me a very strong drink. While the cocktail wasnt to my liking, I still had a good time. When we left, we were tipsy and feeling good, which was the point of that excursion.
After reading the mostly positive reviews for this place, my friends who were visiting Boston and I decided to give this place a shot to grab a drink as most other places were closed. Our first mistake was going here on a Sunday. Everything else is dead in town except for the creepers were out on the prowl...They have several large TVs around so it would be good for Sports along with a dance floor that they start the music later at night. During the entire time I was with my friends there was a man who kept walking by us several times and telling and pointing out to us Thats my son from across the bar. Once we realized the music they were playing for 80s night wasnt quite our jam we were ready to head home. On our way out one of the managers calls out to us, Wait ladies...! We are just about to put on the good music!Nope, nope, nope! Way too many creepy vibes for us for that one night. Maybe this place would be better on a weekend night, but Im sure there are plenty of other options.
The staff and service here was great, and the food was delicious!! Definitely recommend to anyone wanting to try a classic Irish bar in the Cambridge/Boston area. The bartender chris was very attentive and helpful! I will definitely be back.
I ended up at Pheonix landing almost every weekend for a few years of my young 20s. It’s a cheap cover for central, cheapish drinks, fun 90s music and throwbacks, and a regular good time. Small space so there is sometimes a line, and food is only so-so if you go during the day.
Great place to go dancing on Saturday nights! The bar turns into a club around 11pm, good atmosphere, cool music (very commercial). Only con: the dj could be slightly more enthusiastic
I thought this place was okay. I would just like to add that the drinks are expensive and the service is mediocre. The calamari appetizer had little to no calamari at all. Overall The phoenix Landing is okay. If you have a taste for soccer/football this might be a good place for you.
My friends love this place but Im very like warm. Its essentially a dive bar with none of the dive bar charm. It gets so packed you can move and requires cover charge. I gave it three because I must be the crazy one if so many people enjoy it but I just cant figure out why
We enjoyed the LFC game that was playing, but the service was AWFUL. I had to wait 50 minutes for our waitress to tell me that the meal I ordered wasnt ready and then another 15 minutes for her to tell me they ran out of what I ordered. She was never around and didnt ask us if we needed anything. Very disappointing considering the fact we drove all the way up to this place from PA because of all the good reviews of it.
As someone who’s in marketing for the restaurant/bar industry, this was the WORST service experience EVER. This bar is our “sponsor” bar for our volleyball league, and Kira was our server. She was definitely overwhelmed/“in the weeds,” but that’s NO excuse to treat patrons disrespectfully. We were fine chilling at the table, but she came over after 15 minutes, threw down menus and then stormed away. Much later, she came to unhappily take our orders. Drinks took forever, which is fine, but she didn’t check on us or apologize. The night continued like this (slamming down drinks, spilling on us, slamming down food, storming away.) At no point was she apologetic about food/drinks taking long. Manager, please fix this situation for your future patrons.
I’ve been here on Friday and Saturday nights, and cover is $8-10. Theres definitely a younger crowd here (college or young professionals).Every time I go here, I’m disappointed by the music, lack of dancing, and unimpressive sound system. On weekends, the music is usually throwbacks (90s, early 2000s), and more sing-along than dance music. I’m generally looking for more of a dance-y atmosphere, so maybe this place isn’t for me (or I go on the wrong nights). The DJ just queues songs and plays them all the way through.I also dropped by once on a Sunday night at 1am after learning that a friend was spinning there. Cover was still $10 on a Sunday at that hour, which is ridiculous.
Great spot for food and drinks! Also an incredible nightclub at night!
I come here often in the weekends. If you enjoy a predictable set of 80s music mixed with top 40 (as I do), this is the place to be.The crowd is well-mixed and people always seem to be having a great time. The drinks are ok--they can be a bit on the watery side. The food menu, though limited, is pretty tasty. The staff is consistently friendly and attentive.Overall, Phoenix is a great place for a quick bite, a casual date, or a fun night dancing.
Came her from London, firstly, turned away from the door man as I didnt have a passport although provided 2 forms of ID - one of the workers advised this was USA policy however I was able to get in the Grand and other clubs with my UK drivers license - got an uber to hotel and came back with passport to be severely disappointed with the overall atmosphere of club - terrible sound system, empty and tune selection was horrendous - the only thing that was somewhat nice is that the owner was behind the bar and was friendly, left the club after 45 mins
This is hands-down my favorite bar with a dance floor to go to in greater Boston. I must note though that the this place is many different places at different times. On weekend mornings its the official Liverpool soccer meeting space in Boston, on weekdays at night its drum & bass, and on Friday and Saturday nights its 80s music and top 40s. The weekend is where its at!Where do I start? The bartenders and bouncers are friendly, the people who go there are approachable and friendly, the music is a blast to dance to (there is a bench on the right side of the bar you can stand on like a stage), the dress code is nice but lax as well so you can wear whatever makes you comfortable.Unlike the pretentiousness you may find in certain parts of Boston, people who frequent this place are laid back almost all of the time. Central square is great and this is the best place there.Ive probably been to Phoenix Landing over 30 times and Id say Ive had fun every time! Great places to meet friends, dates, and to bring your friends!
The food and drinks were amazing!!! There is only one waiter doing it all, serving, bar tending, and charging! The guys is very fast and good, we ordered the Cuban sandwich and the Buffalo wrap, with the Phoenix mule, all was very good
Cory the barman was exceptional he made a whiskey sour when requested and it’s one of the best I’ve ever had, a proper gentlemen and a master of his trade.
Extremely poor service, constantly forgetting orders, and showing a lack of concern for clients. Very bad experience.
The few times I have been here I have found the food/service to be a little disappointing. During my last visit I ordered a deluxe grilled cheese sandwich, suffice to say the menu description was a little more enticing than what actually appeared. Will I go back? Maybe, they do show a lot of soccer which is a plus, I would recommend eating elsewhere.
Elements on thursdays is the longest running dnb weekly in the world. The drinks are affordable and the DJs that come thru youll never see in a space this intimate. Dont miss elements.
We were dismissed, over looked when other tables were served multiple times with drinks and food. Our waitress and manager Wasn’t understanding of our wait time. We didn’t get our food until overall 2 hours later once trivia was almost over. The waitress and manager were not understand when all we were asking was a discount for our food. COVID was hard but I’ve been to restaurants that were understaffed and overwhelmed and the experience was still 10/10.
My husband loves the food. Weve tried the steak tips and provolone on baguette. We shared a corned beef on whole grain, the chicken fingers buffalo style. Prices are reasonable and service is friendly.
If youre looking for a place around Boston to watch the World Cup this summer, this is the place to be. Come here for beer and some soccer this summer! I had a great time watching the Egypt/Russia game the other day. Theres a great energy at this place.
Bartenders were incompetent and the beers were overpriced. We had just finished eating dinner and we were planning on eating dessert and ordering a few more drinks before we were ushered out to free up the table. Same thing happened to another group directly after us. More interested in business than customer service. The Tavern In The Square just down the street is a better place for watching football/soccer/World Cup games.
Great place to watch English Premier League matches live. There always seems to be a good crowd of fans (Lots of Liverpool and Man United fans) ... even on a Wednesday at 2PM! Beer selection is quite good.
Friendly staff, I went to see soccer match from Spanish La Liga FC Barcelona. Super big TV, friendly staff, good food. I ate the curry chicken, very good. BUT THEY DONT HAVE DESSERTS!!! Also long list of beers, so very good.
It’s ok, although, the waitress we had last night was scraping her nostrils with her nails which made me feel uneasy and grossed out. My bf ordered his food first but I didn’t know what to get so I had to be given a few more minutes, our food came out at different times. I had to sit and watch him eat until mine came out. Then he had to sit and watch me eat. Not the best first impression for me. He liked it. I need to be convinced. If it were up to me, I wouldn’t return. But he likes it so, we may be back. Hopefully the second time around will be better...
Great for Liverpool games. Staff works extra hard during those packed events. Food is so so. Breaded wings? Skimpy calamari. Only decent dish is the double burger.
If you are a Liverpool fan & want to watch a match with many other fans...this is the place to Go in the Boston area..its a bit small so make sure to get there early if you want to secure a seat..
Bouncer wouldnt let us in because they were “at capacity, then proceeds to let in 5-7 other people. Love when my group get treated differently from others because we don’t have an “in” at this dump. Keep virtue signaling by having your place at partial capacity even though MA recently lifted all restrictions...
We had fries and drinks only. Drinks were good but cheap. The fries were good as well, and they came with a awesome dip called curry dip! That was the best part 😉.
Food was alright.Service was good!
Drum and Bass night on Thursdays might be Bostons best kept secret. DJs are great and there is plenty of room to dance. Sets usually start getting good around midnight, but even the warmup sessions are great. Sound and visuals are on-point as well - really happy I found this event.
Wednesday is EDM dance at 10pm, I like the atmosphere. People come here to dance, it just was half empty, the lighting could have been more dark & appropriate, and the drinks are a bit ion the expensive side $9.5 for a gimlet (with real cucumber though!)
Its a dive bar in Central with a dancefloor. Very dark, hot, loud and small. Thats about all you need to know. If thats your scene, youll enjoy it! If its not, you might want to check out one of the other bars in Central.
Ive been coming here for many many moons. The foods actually pretty great for a kinda dive place. I know most people dont love this but they do at night play a lot of techno/dubstep/drum and bass which I love. I can always dance here and have a good time. I usually end up here by myself and make a lot of great friends. Theres a bartender Craig who has always been so welcoming and helpful (charging my phone hahaha sorry Craig).
Not just a pub, but also home to some of the areas popular nights! Live music every night of the week - bass on Sunday, reggae/dancehall on Monday, live/electronic on Tuesday, house on Wednesday, drum & bass on Thursday, 80s/top40 dance on Friday, 80s/90s on Saturday. Great location off the red line in Central Square.
For dance/DJ events, one of the few places Id strongly recommend in all of Boston/Cambridge. Great acts, very intimate space, friendly staff and great drink prices. Only real drawback is that theres no coat check.
While the mood and atmosphere seemed nice, I had horrible service at the bar.I ordered the fried haddock sandwich and was served fish & chips. When I brought this to the bartenders attention, his only response was This is just like fried haddock sandwich. Fish & chips is fried haddock. Just no bread.I could have maybe forgiven him except he went ahead and charged me for fish & chips anyway. Rather than fight him over the cost difference, I took it out of his tip.
Sooo... I have been a regular for about 3 years and Monday nights only! DJs always have a great reggae/soca vibe drinks are fairly priced and the crowd is always chill and vibe always going! Great to turn up or just for a late nighy drink on those long Mondays!
Its crazy that this place pulls big name Drum and Bass artists like Camo and Krooked.
I had the fish and chips cooked beautifully crispy and Light juicy in the middle I had the tiramisu for dessert. I was disappointed in that didnt look anything like the picture or taste good at all I sent back.
Phoenix Landing is the perfect trivia venue -- not too big, not too small, not super crowded and staffed with servers who know how to keep a table happy. It doesnt hurt that they have great burgers and decent beer prices, either. If youre looking for something fun to do on a Wednesday night, look no further :). Pro tip: If you stick around after the pub quiz, theres always some kind of dancing, and occasionally a noted DJ will show up.
Good place to hang out with friends.
The customer service here is very bad - they seem understaffed or something. Also the mask policies during this pandemic are not enforced. The waiters mask was not properly worn, and on my trip to the bathroom 2 other men did not have masks on. Stay away right now and stay safe. The average food was not worth the risk.
Decent unassuming bar most weeknights right in central square. On wednesdays they do a fun trivia, but show up early to get a seat. On the weekends it turns into more of a dance club with sometimes long lines and very popular djs.
Get atmosphere for Premier League games and a decent pint of Guinness!
It was a great sports bar. official bar for LFC, Liver pool. Give vibes for football matches. All were really supportive in the bar , u would never feel ur an outsider.Overall Nice and Grat
Outdoor dining here is very pleasant. Fish and chips was great here. They have really good wheat beer too.
In the face of the pandemic, Phoenix Landing managed to create a sanctuary in the heart of iconic Central Square, where strangers from all walks are welcome. The patio - illuminated by charming string lights and peppered with flower pots - is home to soccer fans, friends out for drinks, neighborhood regulars, and first-timers.Phoenix Landing is true to its name, giving Bostonians a place to revive their lively celebrations - safely.
This review is specific to a Tuesdsy night music event at The Phoenix Landing. Its not about the restaurant or overall establishment. On specific Tuesday nights at The Phoenix Landing is one of Bostons only recurring Techno events for serious Its been this way since I first checked it out in 1998 when Red Light Productions was the only true Techno gig in a 68 mile radius of the city at that time (1996 or 97. Boston and, underground Techno just never got a long for some reason.Between 1992 and 2019, Ive only caught trails of two or three Boston based event creators and promoters that peddle in the genre of underground Techno, and the latest crew that hosts this night at the Phoenix on specific Tuesday nights. But theres reason for optimism; a surge in interest globally and here in the US for Techno..... true...... Techno... for smoothing the chaotic mind like my own. This night is nothing like a Bijou Club presents: Chris Lebing club j5ams here, no disrespect at all to Mr. Lebing, but the music style on this night is more pure, unabated, along the lines of producers like Keepsake, Joe Farr, Oscar Mulero, or Ritzi Lee. The music, the local/crew DJ performances, and crowd vibe are all legit from what Ive experienced in the last few years. I come from the very early days of NEAU and eventually NEW techno warehouse events .When early NYC warehouse and secret location events following the epic Storm Raves, when (Sonic) Groove Records was in Brooklyn, and was planning to move to its eventual Carmine St address in Manhattans lower East Side, and as Sonic Groove . My point is.... I wouldnt call something legit unless I truly believed that when it comes to Techno and event promotions. If youve been searching for a true Techno night, this is the best game in town; at the time of this review (May of 2019), that Ive found anyway.Check it out if it sounds like what youre looking for. Or even if youre not familiar with the sound, or unsure of what you want for music, then come check it out anyway. Its a good time, decent vibe, very good music (MHO), all of which have always been serious rarities around the Boston area.FYI: am in no way affiliated whatsoever with the promoters who run his Tuesday night. Im on my own, and reviewing.-J
Great place to meet fellow friends! I cant wait to go bac 4 a visit .great bar,gud atmosphere, great service an friendliness of the Irish.well done to all the staff u do a great job.Hello to Kevin an all the team. Thank you for a great few hours wit you!
Love this place. Great house music on Wednesday nights
The place to be for Liverpool Football Club supporters. Home base of the official LFC Boston Supporters Club. Opens early for matches. Get yourself an LFC Boston membership and enjoy the benefits of the being a part of the biggest and best Premier League Football supporters club in Boston. Great breakfast, lunch, and great beer options.
Great service! Unfortunately draft beer was flat and not cold. Didnt want to risk ordering food if they dont maintain draft beer standards and protocol.
Amazing music, staff, menu and so much more . . Its my favorite place in Boston
If youre looking for a good atmosphere and good Radeberger Pilsner beer in authentic Radeberger mugs, this is the place! This is the hangout for all Soccer fans. It gets packed during important matches, so you need to show up at least one hour before the game or you get left out.
Cheap drink and listen to new talent in the techno dj space, this is good stuff.
I mean, I know its not the fanciest bar in Cambridge, but the vibe, music and food is really good, love going there with my friends.
This is the most vibrant Liverpool FC supporters bar in Cambridge. Being a Liverpool fan, I enjoy going there and watching matches with other fans is amazing.
OMG this place turned hipster!!! I miss it from 15 years ago.
Good spot for a bite and drink. Pepperoni pizza and Buffalo wings were delicious
Where else in cambridge can you go at 7:30 a.m. for english premier football match with 250+ screaming liverpool f.c. supporters? they make the atmosphere and a cider or guinness will get you yelling at the tv too. night time seems like fun too for reggae and house nights.
Experience was okay with me. DJ was on point spinning records. Just was looking to see if the vibe was picking up with the crowd now that this weather is finally starting to warm up. To be continued...
Bourbon Stone Smash - very light and refreshing. Gentlemans Game - more complex, manhattan-lite. Both very tasty and recommended for whiskey drinkers.
Best soccer bar Ive been to by far- food is surprisingly good and the prices are very reasonable, decent draft menu as well!
Great bar in Central Square. Food, drink and service are outstanding. In town for just a few days and felt very welcome. Thx Cambridge!!!
Food wasnt great. They used liquid cheese on the nachos. The order was wrong the first time they brought it. My buddy said his gravy fries were good.
Not for everyone. Dive style bar, but unique types of sound on different nights. Underground stiff on Wednesdays, hip hop on Saturdays.
Watched Liverpool v Everton match here what an awesome crowd! Great service and food (steak and eggs with Doms steak tips) so delicious!!!!
Perfect casual weekend club. Great for EDM music. Had one of the best Saturday nights here yesterday!
Excellent bar. Good down to earth vibes with a cool staff and reasonable prices especially for Cambridge
Waitress badgered me about her tip because i gave her 2 bucks and spent 50... Gold rush flav wings taste like hotdogs and stuffed mushrooms were trash... Im sorry but this is all true
Liv v MCU. loved it. atmosphere was phenomenal.
No better place to watch Liverpool games in Boston. Or pretty much any other football match. And by football I mean the one thats playing using feet. Hence football.
Its always really crowded on weekend nights, and it usually takes a while to get drinks. Lots of people dancing, and the music is mostly top 40 from recent years.
Great energy and reasonable prices. Awesome music most nights too!!
Classic Irish Pub that is unfortunately a dying breed around here. Great food and soccer is always on.
Great food! All I have ever tried has been delicious. Margarita pizza and mozzarella stick are great.
Some really surprising foodie options —after 3 1/2 hour drive. Awesome service some of the best fried chicken outside of Harlem.
Elements Thursday have always been a good time , awesome djs and great people. Gotta love the drum and bass!
The most fun I had in a really long time!!!! The bartenders were great!!! The DJ was poppen and the people!! Dude what a vibe!!!
Not the best food or the best drinks but the vibes are top tier
Good food, friendly service, and always something happening. International soccer matches, live DJs, pub trivia, game nights -- something for everyone!
Good location but terrible crowd late at night. Service is as expected with good seating and booze given this is a cantina location
Exciting place to watch the Liverpool games. Gets very crowded though and they really dont have the capacity to comfortably hold that many people.
Shoutout to both bartenders/waitresses who I told i was mad uncomfortable on a date and they literally had my back and checked in on me multiple times when I told them. I love you girls
Love this place for the Liverpool games the atmosphere is awesome they have carlsberg probably the best beer in the world on tap and the food is good the staff are cool also very friendly
A waitress accidentally stomped on my ankle, which would have been all well and good, except that she just laughed and muttered an apology and then kept walking. Spent the rest of the night limping.
Great spot to have a beer and food. You can watch some sports here is always a plus. At night time they have DJ events.
Great place with great food, great music and friendly staff. Used to frequent here in my grad student years. Great stress release.
They always mess up my order and take forever to bring out the food
Me and my friend ordered some fries and parmesan Sause. The food was great and so was the vibe of the place
LFC pub, good for EPL games!
This is my fav bar in Boston. Great bar food. And great bar to watch any soccer game. Especially if it’s a Liverpool game. YNWA
Noisy, kinda crazy sports/dive bar in the Harvard area - popular with student crowd
Bouncer took a bribe 😐
Went there to watch a Liverpool match with a friend. Curry fries were outstanding.
Surprisingly amazing chourizo quesodilla and chill mix of barflies and soccer fans. Also, great later evening dance club.
Great atmosphere, decent amount of space, good staff and security, slightly overpriced drinks for the type of venue it is.
Awesome place to unwind and enjoy a great meal at an affordable price.Great wait staff.
Absolutely my must got to place everytime I am in Boston/Cambridge area. Plus their new menu is AMAZING!!!
Great vibe for the pub. Good music and amazing atmosphere.
The door man wasnt nice :/
Not a bad place to go out! Sometimes theres dancing
Great place. Always has been, always will be.
Awesome staff and the best cheese pizza on Massachusetts Ave, Cambridge.
The go-to spot for soccer atmosphere in the area; nice beer selection and pub food.
Good place to go after work, not a good place for going out. They have cheap apps during the week, and service is fine when its slow, but it gets crowded and gross at night.
Visit the location for Elements. The drinks are priced fairly and the staff are kind. Overall a nice environment.
Great drinks and Food, with a fair price! Very Nice bar and place!
Been coming every St. Patricks for.many years great to be back after the pandemic and see the staff is still there!
Great place to go out at night and meet new people. Music is a mix of everything from 90s and recent hits to reguetton.
Great place to go Friday/Saturday night and vibe out. Bartenders were amazing and professional.
One of the security guards(black) was sexually harassing me and followed me to the bathroom. On behalf of all white men: Stop treating us like were youre girlfriends. Trust me. Were not interested.
Good vibe, $10 cover charge, lots of fun dancing and solid bartenders.
Best place to watch soccer around Cambridge! True fans go there
Always a good calm time at the Phoenix my cousin loves this place when she comes from Florida she always stays and extra day to go to Monday nights.
Pleasant surprise to drop in for a quick lunch and a fantastic burger and tasty salad. Great service. Clean.
