Happy Head Foot Reflexology and Massage - Carlsbad

Wonderful experience at this Happy Head location! The receptionist Jordan really took care of me and went the extra mile to ensure I had the absolute best massage today. Will be back!

So I was very hesitant about getting a massage from this place.I didn’t know what to expect. I got the 90 minute Asian Style Body and Foot Massage. My therapist was Mandy. There were several tables in the room. I liked the idea of a fully clothed massage. I didn’t think oil was going to be involved because I had clothes on. Thankfully I had a sports bra on because I had a brand new shirt on and the therapist was stretching the collar on my shirt to massage my shoulders. I wish the pressure was a little harder on my neck (yes I asked).The tables are rock hard, like no padding at all. My feet were dangling off the end of the table into a bucket of water for the foot soak. Because there was no support under the knees, my lower back started to hurt. By the time she finished my head, neck, shoulders and arms, the water was cold.The foot massage was great. The best part of the massage was when I was turned face down and she did shiatsu style compressions all over. I’m a massage therapist, so I am very picky when it comes to massage. I would return again when my regular therapist is busy.

Front desk lady was very rude and I paid for a one hour massage, and they only went for 50 minutes. Half of the massage was the man talking to the woman, and not giving me his full attention. He was using one arm and also on his cell phone during the majority of the massage. I highly recommend you do not go to this place. The atmosphere is very nice though :-)

It was my first time going to this place and Ive had very few massages. For an individual like myself you may feel somewhat uncomfortable at first. I mean I probably wouldnt of felt that way if I was given some kind of a tour to know what to expect. But i wasnt. It was more of your purse goes there take your shoes off and your therapist will be over. Other than that it was a great place. It was clean. It was easy to get an appointment and the price was reasonable.Now that I kmow what to expect.....Ill definitely go back.

I have been a patron of Happy Head Carlsbad for over 6 months now. I go in regularly for monthly and even bi-weekly Asian style massages since I suffer from migraines and their services are so affordable. Ren is my go-to guy. I have had many massages over the years including when I used to work at Burke Williams Day Spa in Orange County. I can honestly say REN is the BEST massage therapist I’ve EVER HAD! I will never go to another therapist for as long as he is working there. I go in with a migraine and leave transformed. Also, I wasn’t sure of the difference between Asian style and Swedish when I first tried it but now I’ll never go back. To me, Swedish style is for someone just looking to relax. Asian style actually works out the kinks. Ren definitely does deep tissue work so if you don’t like firm pressure, make sure you voice that.I also want to address the reviews from the patrons complaining about being pressured into leaving a tip. From what I read, the massage therapists did their job and you enjoyed it. Just because you wanted an upgrade or chose the wrong type of service, doesn’t mean your therapist should take the hit. These people put their bodies through A LOT to make YOU feel better for minimum wage. The least you can do is show your appreciation. It’s obvious you’ve never worked in the service industry.Thank you Happy Head & Ren! See you in a few weeks :)

Chose this place as a local place to get a much needed foot massage - Bianca at front desk was great to book an appointment within the hour, and Holly the masseur worked her magic! The space was calm and relaxing and I walked away feeling relaxed and happy. Will definitely be coming back!!! They also offer lots of incentives to come back like a discount within 7 days and a rewards program only needing your phone number. Great to support a local biz.

This was a pleasant experience. Quality place and therapist. Average pricing for 90 min of deep connective tissue massage. Have other rypes of massahe as well. I would go back.

Great massage but completely turned off by the overly-aggressive receptionist who was laying a guilt trip for not tipping when I already paid for the extra oils and whatnot as an up sell. Pay your staff a living wage and charge more if you have to but don’t put it all on the customers already forking over $110 for a massage from an un-licensed practitioner where we can’t claim against healthcare benefits to shell out extra cash after the service.

Wow! Boy did I need that massage. Robert was great. He tried to work out all my tax office knots in my shoulders. I need to go back to get all my knots out. Robert was very professional. The place is so calming and it feels like you enter another world. A nice calm world. Its time to get a massage....you know you need one.

Awful. My friends and I came here a year ago and it was amazing! We were excited to come in when we were in town. It was the worst! My therapist spent probably Half of the massage come up and down on my shin. On the same leg! My friends also confirmed they had a similar experience. Im not sure if they were sick or high but we just threw away $50.

Made an appointment for a prenatal massage, when I got there the girl at the front desk told me Id have to bed on my back the entire time , the bed was flat and not adjustable , I ended up getting a foot massage instead cuz I was with 2 other people and I had to wait for the to get done. The food massage was so inconvenient cuz I had on tight jeans and couldnt pull them up, so she only did my heels and toes and ontop of my foot. The girl at the front desk gave me so much attitude for declining to tip given that the service I requested and planned to recieve isnt what I got and still paid for it

Great massage at a great price. Tipping (which you should do) is cash only, but they have an ATM inside. I can always get an appointment online for when I want. The atmosphere inside is calm and peaceful and the massage is excellent.

Wow!!! I had such a long week at work and was looking to get a nice relaxing massage and I am so I found Happy head! I got the Asian fusion and I recommend it highly since its a little bit of everything. I came out of my masaage totally loosened up from the high tension my job has. If youre looking to relax and unwind like I was, get in there! You wont regret it!

This place is freaking AWESOME! I was trying to kill some time since I work up north and traffic is so bad. I stumbled accross this Gem. I just walked in and didnt expect the receptionist to check me in as quick as she did. She was so sweet and helpful. She ran me through the list of services, took my payment and BOOM I was off to Lalala Land. Ugh My therapist was freaking Fantastic! I will be for sure be coming Back!

So you pay up front and have to tip in cash while the receptionisttries to upsell you. Plus, I was very tender for a few days afterward around my problem area. Good atmosphere but I will find a more relaxing swedish massage elsewhere.

I adore this place, my wife and I always have a great experience here or at any of Happy heads locations. I sneak away here when my wife is shopping at the Carlsbad outlets. Asian fusion combo is my go too and some times Ill indulge in a 4 hand. I never have any complaints and everyone is always friendly.

The place its self is great but I had a bad experience with my massage today. I paid for a 90 minute prenatal massage. I had a man. Which I do not mind as I like deep tissue however it was possible he was unaware that I am pregnant because he didnt use any support under my belly like last time so I had to keep adjusting myslef the entire time. He did not turn me over to do my front ie.. neck shoulders legs. He did not massage my legs or feet. Which is huge when pregnant. I had to ask him to do my face and scalp even though I was asked if I wanted that done before I started. I had to ask him to do my hands and arms in which he spent about 1 minute per arm and I asked him to do my feet and he still did not. All and all pretty bummed. I left feeling unrelaxed and unsatisfied.

Julie was amazing! Still feeling relaxed a day later! I had the Asain style foot and body massage. Place felt very clean and peaceful.

This place is perfect, just walking through the front door is soothing! Great atmosphere, kind staff, and never a bad massage experience. Large menu of options.

Massages are great here really walk out feeling relaxed and stress free. Would recommend the CBD ointment for those really tense areas.

DO NOT COME HERE. WORST MASSAGE EVER. I asked for a “swedish relaxing massage” and instead I got a muy thai tournament. The male masseuse was completely brutal! I don’t know if he was intentionally trying to hurt me or not, some moves he performed just seemed DANGEROUS. IM BAFFLED! And now in pain. Also, if the manager reads this (which they probably won’t because they’re mostly Asian foreigners who don’t speak english well let alone probably know how to read their google reviews)....PLEASE TELL JACKIE CHAN TO SHOWER BEFORE HE PUTS HIS CLIENTS INTO A FULL NELSON, OR THEY’LL STINK, TOO.

Only deep tissue on the back otherwise just running oil around. Neck massage was too much pressure in places where it hurt and not enough pressure where it should be.
