Ocean Day Spa, Carlsbad, California

First time going to Ocean Day Spa and I was so glad I gave them a try! Booking online was easy and I got the 50 minute CBD massage with Mikenna. She was very professional and did an amazing job with my massage. I left feeling very happy and relaxed.

Ive been coming here for two years. At one point I was coming every week. Over the years Ive brought my husband and son but couldnt my daughter because she was too young. Shes been excited to come here like her brother since she was 10 when I started coming here.I waited until my daughters 12th birthday to bring her here. My daughter and I share the same birthday and we planned a special day around coming to get massages together. Its also my birthday.My little girl has OCD and severe anxiety. She was nervous, since its her first time getting a massage. I thought the most awkward part would be to get undressed down to her underwear. Thats what we focused on before going. I didnt think anything else could go wrong.I had already undressed when one of the therapists came in saying my daughter said shes 10. Huh? Turns out I had fill the form too fast and wrote the wrong last number for her birth year. Im used to writing 2024 and I accidentally wrote 2014 instead of 2012.Anyway, therapist Kristen busted in when my daughter was completely undressed and already nervous. Ask her for her age which my daughter responded with I turned 12 today. She didnt believe her and told her that shes 10. My daughter got scared, frozen and couldnt answer any of her questions.I threw a shirt over so I could come out to see whats happening.To make matters worst, Beth the therapist was commenting in the background suggesting that I was a liar and asking my daughter for proof. While repeating Children should know their age (Do you have children? Do you have children with special needs? Do you know what happens when a child is scared? Hello?)They made us feel like criminals instead of frequent guest who theyve known and seen for two years.We ended up not able to get massages. Not only was our birthday ruined (both my and my daughters)....My daughter is now completely traumatized and refuses to get another massage.Receptionist didnt say a word. Didnt try to understand what happened. Didnt ask us if we are okay. Didnt try to keep us as a customer. Didnt try to make things right. No apologies. Nothing.My coming here for years, spending thousands and this is how I am treated on my birthday. Extremely disappointing, offensive and traumatizing.

A very unassuming location, but worth the visit! I received the 1 hr facial and it was excellent. Very relaxing and one of the better facials I’ve ever had (even outranked fancy hotel day spas!) My therapist was well educated and ensured that I was comfortable and relaxed for the entire service. The price was also right, especially for Eminence products. Will be back soon!

It’s not how you start, it’s how you finish. I came in with high expectations and I made some comments of constructive criticism. I returned three weeks later and every single one of my suggestions were not only considered but acted upon. I was completely blown away and impressed. Sarah is a gifted esthetician. Her hands have pure love in them. She listens and is attentive and strives to offer her very best. This spa exceeded my expectations in many ways, please recall they were high to begin with. Thank you Sarah.

Although Ocean Day Spa has been right next door to my favorite nail salon for years, I had never gone inside. Boy, was I missing the boat! My massage therapist, Ashley, was there to greet me when I walked in the door. It was a welcoming environment with cute decor. They have a nice waiting room and selection of beverages for before and after your massage.Ashley has skills. Shes been doing massage for 10 years, and you can tell. Very strong hands, very knowledgeable, and we had a pleasant conversation (I like to talk during massages). She massaged muscles that other massage therapists dont seem to bother with. I felt like I had been getting incomplete massages all these years.It was an all-around great experience. I highly recommend Ocean Day Spa and Ashley!

This was a surprise from my husband. I had never had a professional massage before and this place was fantastic! they ask you about problem areas and what you want out of your session to really make the most out of your time there. Ashley is super friendly and I highly recommend her. I cant wait till my next session.

The lady at the front desk is so nice but the massage therapist was one of the most rude people I’ve ever encountered at a spa. She was one upping me and giving back handed compliments, making snide remarks the whole time. If you’re looking for a high quality massage given by PROFESSIONALS, this is not the place to look.

Today was my first time there and I will definitely be going back. I love that they use more natural fruit and plant based products and not a lot of harsh chemicals. Ive had facials before, but this is by far my favorite. I love the way my skin looks/ feels even after having extractions done. Highly recommend this place.

Love this place!!! Been with Ashley for years now for massage and she never fails to give a wonderful treatment. Im pretty picky and self proclaimed massage snob. My husband goes as well and this is the only place we go for our massages. Highly recommend. Great place to get a gift for too.

I’ve been here a few times now. I LOVE it! I’ve had issues with my skin for so many years and have started getting facials here. Viriginia is amazing. I can never say enough good stuff about her. She’s been helping me get my skin issues under control and knows so much about skincare. My skin hasn’t looked this good in such an amazing time. No matter what your skin is like, come here! Having a good esthetician like her will make all the difference in the world! I’ve gotten some amazing massages here, as well! I have yet to be disappointed by any service.

This hidden little gem has a great menu with very well priced services. I had the deep tissue with the grounding foot massage, which consisted of a hot stone and reflex on the foot (quite relaxing).Monica, my therapist, had one of the most complete massage Ive ever had. Her strokes were complex and covered the full length of your body. Ill for sure be returning for more treatments from here.

Ocean Day Spa, Carlsbad, has a pleasant atmosphere. I especially enjoyed having Sandra do my facial. I liked that she not only did a great job, but she also explained aspects of my skin to consider for continued improvement. Sandra is a delightful person, and my next facial will be with her!

It seems like they have changed owners and staff a few time. I still find it to be very peaceful and clean little spa. 80 minute massage felt great and Im considering buying a package of 6 massages next time I go in.

Ashley fixed me! I flew into Carlsbad with a group from Wisconsin to run the Carlsbad Half and Full Marathon this weekend. A few days before the trip I must have slept on my side funny because I woke up with terrible knots and pain in my neck and shoulder. It was difficult to even move my neck to the side and lift my arm above my head without sharp pain. After a couple days without improvement, I immediately booked an 80 min CBD massage with Ocean Day Spa on my flight to California. I told Ashley my issue and she did a combination of cupping and deep tissue massage techniques. The morning following the massage, I was able to comfortably move my neck and shoulder again - it was a miracle! I was able to run the race with no issue. Thank You Ashley!!

Worst experience ever, they left me undressed waiting for a males age for over 45 minutes. Needless to say I did not get a massage because at that point I got dressed and walked out and asked for a refund
