Love this bar!...lol. Atmosphere is amazing. Love the patrons. And Michelle(2 Ls lots of love) is probably is the best bartender ever. Will mist likely move here just for this place.

WORST CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE. Come here if you want to be treated like garbage. I just moved here a few weeks ago and my friends from out of state came to visit me. I am 22, my friends are both 21 about to turn 22, and the bartender wouldn’t take our ID’s. These are REAL state issues Washington driver’s licenses. The bartender took my license and looked over it for 5 minutes, almost snapping it in half at one point. He shook his head and said he wouldn’t serve us because he thought ours were fake. One of my friends even had her passport and he still wouldn’t serve us. At this point I was so upset and on the verge of tears that I told my friend “let’s just go, I don’t want to be here”. The bartender heard that and yelled at us in front of anyone “You don’t wanna be here? Then leave!” We were absolutely humiliated and he almost didn’t give our ID’s back. Crazy how I’m a 22 year old with a full LEGAL ID and this dude still wouldn’t serve me a drink simply because of my looks. Don’t go here if you’re young and from out of state because you will be treated like straight up trash. Especially if you’re a woman.

My daughter was just humiliated in front of many customers at this establishment, saying she was not 21. She had her friends with her as well, and one even had a passport to verify her age. My daughter left crying from the embarrassment. When I tried to call here to ask why she was treated this way, the mailbox was full, and there was no way to contact anyone. How horrible! She’s never, ever been talked to this way! Ruined her night, and this will be a long-lasting memory I’m sure she’d love to erase!

I would give a zero if I could. Incredibly rude bartender. I came in with my friends and we gave the bartender our IDs. He examined the first one for about two minutes, then said he couldn’t accept it. We asked if he could scan our IDs to prove they were real, and he said they don’t have a scanner. I instead said that I had my passport, and offered him that. He would not accept that. My friend asked if he could at least get a coworker to double check. He would not give us back our IDs and told us we needed to leave. We threatened to call the police, as we needed our STATE ISSUED IDs before we left. He then said “you don’t wanna be here? Fine. Get out.”If you are from out of state, don’t go here. They will treat you terribly. The only way we got our IDs back was by threatening to call the cops.

This was a surprisingly chill bar right on the edge of the village, right across the street from the Coyote Bar and Grill. We couldnt get in over at Coyote so we took our large group over to Boar Crossn. We were able to get drinks at the bar without too long of a wait and got seats at the bar and at a couple of the small tables near the bar. It was definitely a younger crowd then the usual Carlsbad 40s and 50s. This place attracts more of a 20s-30s crowd probably due to the couple of pool tables and more of a dive bar feel. Its nicer than the Kraken though, so not that divey. 😆

The tables have recently been re-felted and are much better. Awesome bartenders and people.

Be careful here. I ordered one beer for $4.50 and later i saw they charged me $45.00.

Very unprofessional bouncers at this bar. I was visiting from Michigan and this bouncer told me that my ID was fake. He insisted that he knew it was fake and compared it to his “friends” Michigan ID calling it fake over and over again. He clearly did not know how to identify an ID. He cussed at me and told me to call the cops to get my ID back. The cops arrived very quickly and verified that my ID was in fact real. I did not appreciate the way I was mistreated by the bouncers here and will never come back to this place when I come back to visit. This literally ruined my night! Don’t go here if you’re from out of state or else you’ll have to call the cops to get your ID back. SMH!

Cheap drinks compared to most bars and the bartender was great!

Good old Boars. Always a fun time doing the Carlsbad crawl. Walk there crawl home lol. Do they even service food? Got a soda water charged me 3$. Never been charged for soda water. Its like asking for a cup of water. Oh well guess thats inflation.

Great oval bar and amazing service, especially from Toby. I played pool all night.

Many pool tables and theres good space in between them. $1 a game. Really nice patio with ample space and plenty of seating. The drinks are not pricey. Right next to the train station too in case u get to tipsy.

I love this place! Everyone who works here goes out of their way to be nice! 4 pool tables, reasonable price of drinks, and they always play Rock & Roll music! Good local, fun times here!

By far my favorite spot in Carlsbad, always be sure to tip the ever so lovely Sunny and the bouncers and staff are super cool. Pool tables recently got a brand new set of felt, drinks are very well priced (especially for Carlsbad) and I dont like to go anywhere else on my time off. Theres many lovely spots in Carlsbad to sit down and have a drink, but this has to be the best for pool spots and soon will be expanding the interior of the structure. Must visit.

Plenty of pool tables an the vibe is amazing with good prices on drinks as well good variety on bottle beer service and bottle service for liquor. Music is a good vibe as well with any day of the week having a good turn around rate.

Pretty good place, lots of people and music is okay. We never really stay that long since my friend wants to give me a tour to different bars near the area. Would probably come back every now and then to meet up some friends when Im around San Diego😊

Sorry for the lengthy review but I think this needs to said. I’ve been to this bar for a few years now. The atmosphere is nice. This is one of the few bars in Carlsbad with pool tables which is why my friends and I used to come here. Most of the staff are good too. But the service from the bartender named Sunshine , an older lady with blonde hair, is atrocious. The first few times we came thought we caught her on a bad night but now I know this is normal behavior.Sunshine refuses to smile on the job, actually she seems to glare at patrons. When ordering drinks we usually have to repeat ourselves multiple times and she often still messes up the order. Shes mis charged me multiple times and sometimes gives me another persons bill and is confrontational when I explain the mix up to her. Shes probably the stingiest bartender in all of Carlsbad too, so much so that I only ever order beers when shes working to avoid the overpriced watered-down mixed drinks she makes. My friends and I try our best not to order from her because she takes forever to come back for another round, one time I spent 20 minutes trying to get my check for the night.Probably the worst of all though is her attitude. I dont want to characterize her as a person, she could be nice and friendly outside of work, but on the job she is insufferable. Impatient, confrontational, and overall just uncomfortable to be around - so much so people I know often turn around and leave the bar if they see her working!Its really a bummer too because most of the staff there are nice and the pool tables are awesome, but her presence makes going there not worth it, especially since the staff at other bars in the area are so nice and and friendly. Management if your reading this please consider finding another bartender, many people have told me shes the reason they dont go to Boars anymore!

Pool is fun! Would be even better if the tables were level. At least they have some decent house cues with good tips. Makes things more interesting since I am a beginner.

Great place! The bartender was Awesome...her name was Mary....super nice and just a sweet person...perfect way to start the day!

Theres a cover after 9pm (i believe) unless they changed it.Came here because of some friends who says the DJ plays good music.Indeed the DJ did play SOME good music and the dance floor is huge to dance with my girlfriends and not be rubbing shoulders with people. Thats definitely a plus.Lots of pool tables, chairs and high tops around the bar.The drinks are priced okay but I will say that the bartender was a bit unfriendly. I get it, I used to be a bartender and some people can be annoying. But she just did not put a smile on her face.Overall, Id return again when Im with a group but this is definitely not a place Id go without friends.

I usually come to hang out with my husband and friends on Friday or Saturday nights. The music and environment is pretty good, plus with all the security around it feels safe. But last night once we already pay the fee to get in, I got out to smoke, and when I was trying to get back I had to do the line all over again... like I havent already earlier -.- The Bart tenders are nice, but they need better service and faster. Other than that not bad. But they could improve in their service.

This place is a local watering hole with all age groups coming in at different times of the day. Great drink prices and nice bartenders that wont put up with idiots. No food. I believe you can bring food in. There are 3 pool tables and a stage for bands they bring in.

I always enjoy a fun but mellow bar experience, especially if it has multiple pool tables. Boars used to have around 10 but with a recent remodel that dropped to 3. A cool place with Djs playing often, sometimes bands but count yourself lucky if you can get onto a table during any busy times.

Reasonable cocktails and great social atmosphere. I make friends whenever I go! The world needs more Boar Crossns!

Great on a friday night for drinks and a great dance scene! Good times and 5 min walk to the beach good location. Lots of beautiful young people ages 21-40 ive seen older no discrimination but that is the typical young people hook up spot and its Active.

Bouncer insisted that my out of state ID was fake and said “I know what a fake id looks like and yours is fake. You can take it to the cops if you want but I know it’s not real”. Luckily there was a cop across the street who verified it is a real ID. We also heard the bouncer googling what that state’s ID looks like when walking up after talking to the cops. Got in after it was confirmed that it’s a real ID, but spent no money as we were turned off by how the bouncers treated us. Hire people who actually know what they’re doing and don’t have huge egos combined with ignorance.

A good spot for cocktails, but the wine selection has room for growth.Since its more late night, be sure to enjoy a game of pool.

A little more on the outskirts of the other bars. Inside was spacious around 10pm ... and was filled up with a fun crowd by midnight. The music is mostly hip hop and was mixed well to keep the crowd interested. I had a tasty jam-o-gin.

Its a nice little joint love the bartenders there because there always so nice and provide good service they make almost all the drinks i usually get especially the fancy and detailed ones would definitely come back here again soon

A great local bar to go to that is generally for the younger crowd. Depending on the night, the music is good and the outside patio is fun to hangout at. Only problem is the service, with only 2 bartenders sometimes you wait 15 minutes to get a drink.

Definitely a great spot to bring the friends or family for a night out on the town. Downtown Carlsbad night life is right here. Walk across the street to Coyotes if you like. Great drinks here try the Long islands. Make sure to play pool and dance your ass off before its too late because when the bar closes, so does the city.

I went there during the day yesterday. It was ok. I have font there on the weekends and its literally packed. They got pool tables and love music. For the size of the location the bar is small.

The ultimate dive bar. If you like that kind of environment then you will probably Love This Bar that has multiple pool tables and a rowdy crowd, but if thats really not your scene youre probably really going to hate this place. So to each his own

Bar regulars and Brian (bartender) made the place truly remarkable... seriously makes you want to move here to just become a regular yourself.The obnoxious, loud, profane, combative and entitled bouncer (off duty) in a Raiders jersey and the owners/managements awareness and disregard of the situation makes you wonder how they stay in business.

This is literally my home away from home. I absolutely love the atmosphere. Every weekend is different. You never know who is gonna be there, what the crowd will be like, and what kind of story youre gonna leave with. One thing is for sure your leaving with a story to tell.

I came here with a bunch of friends, we had too many drinks and played card games at one of the tables. Great place to drink too much and not be judged by middle aged families. Little expensive, but good place to hang out and meet people.

Stop in here occasionally. Younger crowd. Lots of guys thinking they are sharks and hustlers on the pool tables. Lol. So cute.

***GHETTO BAR***First I want to start of with this why does a dive bar have a cover charge? Im an out of Townes who came down for a friends birthday and we decided to do the Carlsbad bar crawl hitting up all the bars in the Carlsbad village. Im so disgusted at the atmosphere of this bar and they hire these children to be bouncers. I came back to the bar at 12:30am after paying to get into this bar was told I couldnt return because the bar was closing. I think this is poor service and this will not be the last of my complaint I will be calling to speak with the manager because I feel discriminated against. I and my friend were the only two the bouncer didnt let in but let the rest of our group in and tried to tell us they worked there and thats why they could go back in. No one in our group works at this bar. If I could give it a zero star I would. Im so disappointed by the service and being I live in the city that never sleeps I have never been treated this way. Wont recommend or come back!

The atmosphere was fun, it was definitely more packed than I expected it to be on the weekend. I like that they have pool tables, and how the seating is arranged.

Ordered some food for pick up. It was ready in 10 minutes. The beef ribs were really good and chicken was delicious. Ill definitely go back to indulge on a Sunday.

Its pretty cool. I wanted a virgin bloody Mary because trying to quit drinking. and bartender made it happen. I like bar atmosphere just dont want to get drunk anymore. I would defetnetly go back if Im in area. cool peeps

Solid bar with 3 pool tables, Touchtunes Juke Box, One pool table turned into a ping-pong table. Good customer service. Cheap prices and good times. Robert is good.

I would have gave them a five star the reason is they blocked off half of the building to make a restaurant it was better being a pool table place you could bring your friends your date. Im out to the next review

Never even made it inside this establishment. A $5 cover turned me away initially and was further solidified by a peasant doorman talking down to potential customers. If Im going to a bar, that isnt hosting any event or live music, just a typical Saturday night...I will NEVER pay a cover. Im already going into your establishment to spend money on liquor and beer, you dont get to charge a cover for doing nothing special. Your doorman cowardly said behind my back, If you cant afford $5, then why are you coming out tonight? And then, when questioned, shut his mouth real quick with a smirky grin.Im sorry little one, its not about money, its about principal. And Boars, you lost potential business because your squirrly doorman turned me away with his piss poor attitude.

Bartender was already too drunk to know what i was asking for, but drink he gave me was pretty good... What ibreally didnt like was him expecting a huge tip even tho i wasnt given the service for it, i still tip him good but i dint feel it was earned since i didnt get the drink i ordered... Other then that everything elae was good

Can’t take your drink with you in the bathroom. It’s like they want you to get roofied.I had 2 friends get roofied here and they aren’t sure if it was at the bar or because they left their drinks outside of the bathroom. Don’t drink here it’s shady
