Last here 35 years ago. Today didnt disappoint. Dizzying selection of brewskis.Discussed with beertender, Kane, my ideal brew, and he tapped 3 samples. My absolute favorite, a blend of a stout and a red that was crazy good. Kanes attention to my questions and comments was above and beyond most of my experiences at other pubs. Food was downright tasty, too. A perfect Sunday afternoon at the Bodega.
Cool old school bar with great selection. Bartenders were really cool too. I saw one even give a homeless woman free soda. Very sweet.
Ok, I almost didnt go in. From the sidewalk it looks sketchy. But, it was awesome! Food is great. Brew selection is great. Trivia night was great.
Wonderful beer bar/restauant. The downtown location was easy to find and parking was easy. The decor is charmingly eclectic. We particularly enjoyed the tap shelf in the front window. The menu is various sandwiches. I had the bodega club and it was very good. The bread was lightly toasted and the ingredients were piled on. My wife, a connoisseur of rubin sandwiches, prounounced hers as very good.she particularly liked the mustard. The meat was tender and moist. Her only complaint was they do not have unsweetened ice tea. Overall a very nice lunch. We spent $36. Including tip.
It was my first time visiting, and I saw two police officers talking to an employee. Apparently, he was involved in an incident at Walmart involving the inappropriate touching of a minor. Suddenly, there was a foot chase, and the employee nearly collided with me while fleeing from the police. Despite this, the Tomato Basil soup was amazing! The food is great, but the choice of employees is questionable.
We just moved to LaCrosse from Texas and this was our first thanksgiving away from our family. I found out through FB about their thanksgiving dinner / lunch and it was so good! Me and my partner were worried we wouldn’t get any home cooked food for thanksgiving so thank you guys for the awesome meal!! 🦃❤️
A place to enjoy over and over.Service and atmosphere.Great service from all staff. Pleasant and helpful. The atmosphere was loud and busy being a friday night. Lots of room for big parties to small.Environment and location. The place has character from the windows to inside. It once used to be the pearl street brewery location. The location is down town so parking maybe limited and hard to find but plenty of hotels near by.Food and drink. The food was surprisingly really good. Being just one guy in the kitchen it was quick and tasted great. The appetizer and flatbreads were perfect. The fact they served food until late is also so useful. The drinks are endless boasting a 400 piece drink list from local beers to beyond. Tasty tasty stuff.A must stop.
Kane was so wonderful. He was bartending mid day. We went in for a birthday and he made it so special. Conversation was exceptional. Everything I would look for in a great bartender. Give him a raise, or I might poach him for my bar. 10/10 fricken awesome
Had a HORRIBLE experience outside the store. An employee named Josie, who was being chased by two cops, ran into me and made me spill hot coffee all over myself. Not a great time. Don’t know about the food, but that says everything. Wouldn’t recommend.
Stopped while back in my hometown for a day last week, and was glad to see that Bodega was still the same as I remembered it, relaxing and friendly. Asked the bartender for the best local taps, and was pleasantly surprised by Turtle Stacks amber and the classic DTB from Pearl St. This is one of those places you just want to go to when in town! Check it out.
Bodega Brew Pub in LaCrosse, WI. Located downtown LaCrosse, in a prime location, in a unique historical building. The vibe and atmosphere inside the bar is stylish and unique. Greeting you at the front door is a stained glass window with “Bodega” inlay, is really unique and cool to see.Unsure if it was due to staffing shortage or staffing in general but no waiter to wait on you. We sat ourselves and ordered food at the bar. The fryer was “down”, so there was no option for fries or anything of that nature to choose from. However the Avocubano sandwich (with chips/pickle) tasted very good. The Rueben sandwich was also very good.If you’re looking for a place to score some drinks, this would be a great place to come to. Food was ok.
Cozy gathering place. Had a chicken sandwich with a pesto and the bun fell apart as soon as I tried to pick it up. Flavor was good, but messy.
Fantastic, quiet bar in downtown La Crosse with an exceptional beer list! Loved the laid back atmosphere!
Such a cool place! They have a great staff and an even better selection of beers from all over the world!
Very friendly people that work there, food is excellent and comes quick, never a bad time Ive had at Bodega.... Looove the pulled pork sandwich 🥪 💙
Great Place for BLT and tomato Bisque. Thank you Whitney for recommending. Great Atmosphere, Ssrvice!
Welcomed quiet on an overly busy St. Patricks evening. Roomy, clean. Best part of the evening/holiday for sure..
Food was good but nothing great. Ok service. But being there is enough of a reason to go!
I used to spend a lot of time here over 25 years ago and dropped in for old times. We were not disappointed. Food was solid, beers were great, service was top notch and prices were very reasonable. Felt like old times.
Wandered in at 10:00PM - looking for a beer and something to eat…. The place was delightful, staff “spot on” and the food was very good. ( I had the pulled pork samich w/Tomato soup )
Great atmosphere, friendly staff, and an impressive selection of brews. Whether youre a craft beer enthusiast or just looking for a cozy spot to relax, Bodega Brew Pub delivers a fantastic experience. A hidden gem for food too!
We love this place. We come here twice a year from out of town. Beer selection is great, bartenders are all over the place. Some knowledgeable, some cant be bothered. We just had the blackened fish taco. Absolutely inedible. The coleslaw was like fire. Both got instant heartburn. Free popcorn, watch the world go by
Great food always consistent. And not pretentious. Parking ramp nearby and thank you to the lovely young sweetie who helped me with the new parking system. $2 bucks 2 hours.
Stopped in from out of town. Friendly staff. Casual atmosphere. Happened to stop in on Monday’s Trivia Night. The reuben was amazing. Theirs is made with mustard instead of thousand island which is incredible. Why haven’t I thought of this before?! The flatbread pizza was the perfect crispy. We ordered the spicy sausage though it wasn’t spicy, so don’t shy away from it.
Another fun bar and grill in this amazing town.
Had a bad experience here as a DD.Wanted to have a fun time with friends but I got kicked out for not having my ID on me. (Didnt order anything and wasnt intending to, normally I dont bring my id with me unless I have to (phone only person))I understand they are trying to stop underage drinking but man. I look like an old man! Theres no way I could be under 21. And I wasnt even going to order a drink.I left to go take a walk (literally) and told my friends to have fun. They however ended up calling me 20min later saying the placed sucked and asked where I was.So its probably not a great place anyway. Wouldnt recommend
The pullled pork sandwich was amazing. The bread was a crispy crust like bun and it added so much to the seasoned pork. It’s a must have. The staff was incredibly sweet and friendly. The only negative was that the beer that I ordered on tap cost $10.75. I found that outrageous for a tap beer in lacrosse. It was nearly the same price as my meal. I feel that if the tap beer is going to be that different in price the bartender should have made me aware. My boyfriend’s drink was a makers mark and seven which was only six dollars. Three top shelf mixed drinks were cheaper than two tap beers. I would return but I would ask prices of the drinks.
Great selection, if not epic, of beers from all over. The food is pricey but really good & made in house.
Adam is a gem and magical with picking a beer for people. Just a couple details about what you like and he can find a new favorite drink. He’s always going the extra mile and remembered my name after just two visits. He’s a gift to the bar and the customers
Great beer selection and pretty friendly staff. Free popcorn is always a plus. While the food hasnt exactly stood out from the rest in my opinion, I dont have any complaints. Its good and a solid spot for a casual bite for lunch or also dinner with friends. Cool, casual, eclectic vibe in both atmosphere as well as bar staff
Was so disappointed heard great things, but when we went though we were ignored by staff. They made eye contact and came over however, talked to customers around us, but no one came to take our order..... we were completely ignored.
Absolutely fantastic food, love that the kitchen stays open late! Great selection of alcohol, all the regular flavors and many you cant find anywhere else. Staff always helpful. Always a great time.
Went there as a visitor to WI at 10 on a Sunday night. No one came to our table so I wen to the bar. First thing the bartender asked is if my kids were actually mine. Ordered 2 pretzels after he told me it would be 40 minutes for food. Pretzels came out and tasted horribly astringent. Brought it to the bar and told him, he ripped a piece off and ate it…said he didn’t taste anything after he as vaping. We just left.
Local Favorite. Always the best times here! 12 rotating taps- always something new to choose from. They serve yummy food till like 1 AM. Get the artichoke dip!!! Skip on the whitefish tacos they have on Thursdays- weirdly spicy but not in a good way??
A guy who looks exactly like me, driving a car that matches mine, was seen on surveillance video using my debit card to eat here. I have no idea who he was. Nonetheless, I heard the food here is great.
They said they had modified their menu due to some kitchen repairs but I was impressed with the food and prices are reasonable also!
Fish Tacos are the best in the MidWest.Edit: I used to love coming here all the time and getting the fish tacos but unfortunately the fish tacos started getting unreliable. The recipe wasn’t consistent, sometimes they’d be amazing and then the next week they’d be super bland. They weren’t consistent with corn or flour tortillas and they’d miss the pickled topping. The bar staff also changed around a lot and often times we’d be met by rude staff that clearly didn’t care about the customers. I miss the regular staffers. They were great. The sandwiches are alright, unique for a bar.
Cool enough spot. We were there for a quick beer before a movie. Lots of beers to choose from.
One of best experiences out! Not sure of the bartenders name but she was one of the best bartender/ server I have ever had and trust meI have been out enough to know the difference. She was great with sharing the beer lists and menu and gave us great suggestions! Food and beer was excellent and atmosphere was amazing!
DO NOT SLEEP ON THE FOOD! this place has absolutely delicious food! After going to two different places and being told there was a wait, breakfast turned into lunch and I am so glad it did! I got the SXSW sandwich and my husband got the Reuben... Both were delicious and I dont even like Reubens! I highly recommend! They also have a HUGE beer selection.
Amazing variety of beers incomparable to anything else in 50 mile radius. And good food. And great live entertainment.A true gem of La Crosse.
I thought Id treat my business associate to a meal while in La Crosse so I took him to Bodega since Id heard thats where the action is. Just as we were walking round back a stocky young dude in a Bodega T-Shirt came barreling out the back door and knocked us both over. The popcorn I was holding went flying everywhere so after we got up and brushed ourselves off I decided to go in and get a refill...To my surprise though, there was hardly any popcorn left in the machine...Another customer told me that 20 seconds ago an attractive young female staff member had scooped it all out and thrown it in the bin for some mysterious reason. The awesome decor of the place more than compensated for my popcorn disappointment though...5 stars!
The food was good, just had drinks and apps, there was a large selection of beers to chose from.
Been twice, once in 2021 and once earlier this year. Food and atmosphere is not bad, been here twice and was suggested by friends. Fries are surpisingly great. Wait staff seemed friendly except an employee named Josey really crept my family out. Kept staring at my children and making inappropriate jokes about peoples behinds
Amazing beer selection. Cool beer wheel for when you cant make up your mind. Unfortunately their kitchen was closed due to staffing but they allowed us to bring food in. Great experience!
The bartender/waitress was great. It was Christmas Eve and the only place around that served food. We had a Sicilian Chicken Sandwich and Tomato Soup. It was delicious. Im so glad they were open and sever food on Christmas Eve
I ordered one of their flatbread pizzas. It was served to me almost cold and I had them reheat it but it was still not very tasty. It was better the next day and when I put the remainder in my toaster oven and actually got it warm! I think its a nice venue. But I guess Im just not used to Bar Food.
Kris T was AMAZING!!!! He helped out and got us each what we wanted. I went the wrong way to the bathroom while he was helping out others and went out of his way to say were you looking for the bathroom? Its over there? His great service definitely made the experience that much better!
Awesome food and great staff. Eric Schmidt is always friendly and never makes you feel unwelcome. I use my BaZing app from Citizens State Bank and save a TON of money is discounts there! Love the food!
The food is awesome, there’s a great selection of beer, and they have live music many weekends! There are a good amount of tables, but other than food delivery, you don’t get table service. Since they keep pretty busy most nights, table space is coveted. This is one of my favorite bars in town, because of the products and staff, and I have yet to have a bad experience there!
Absolutely great place for a beer. I love it, staff is great, knowledgeable and patient. Selection is incredible... different coolers at different temps... Want a belgian, pick one. Want a beer you cant see through? Yep. Want something thats local or exotic... the list goes on. The menu is a binder. And dont forget to spin the wheel with results ranging from 2 Schlitz and a bag of chips to a Goulden Carolus Cuvee de Kaiser (and if you land on an expensive one, they let you know and let you spin again if you dont feel like dropping some coin on a beer). You *could* always order a bud light... but life is too short to drink marginal beer.
Our experience was less than desirable; service wasnt good, food was burned and half our order wasnt put in. We stopped here due to mostly positive Yelp reviews for the excellent selection of beer, the full bar and food. The only thing decent was the comfortable seats and atmosphere, also being dog friendly. The beers were tasteless (how can that happen with craft drafts???). My husbands old fashioned had cinnamon schnapps in it....seriously?? Dont waste your time or money....beers are outrageously priced.
As a frequent customer to Bodega, I have had a lot of fun nights here. Great atmosphere, drinks, music, and food. Yet, the service I’ve received from Jacob with the man bun has been the worst service I’ve had in my entire life. I was out last weekend for my friends birthday and I told him that it was her birthday, assuming he would proceed to let her spin the bike wheel. His response was, “Do you even know my name? Can you order from me if you don’t know my name?” He continued to disrespectfully talk to me, but the rest of his statement was inaudible. I asked a man standing next to me if he heard what Jacob had said and he states, “I didn’t hear him but it didn’t sound nice at all”. It’s not only embarrassing, rude, and condescending of Jacob to be talking to me like that, but embarrassing for Bodega. Having a bartender talk to a customer like that in front of other customers is unacceptable. I then had to go talk to another bartender to let my friend spin the bike wheel. Another night, I walked in with my two friends and we sat right down at the bar. We were all deciding what drinks to get and hadn’t said a word to Jacob. He then says, “I’m not the bartender you want so I don’t think you can order from me.” I was in shock since I hadn’t even looked at him when I walked in. Later in the night, 20 minutes before bar close, my friends and I wanted to get one more drink. Jacob then says, “No, I want you guys to leave”. In conclusion, this is unacceptable and I hope Jacob can be held accountable for this unacceptable behavior. Harold is the only one that truly puts a smile on my face when I come to Bodega, and the only reason I keep coming back.
Best dive bar in lacrosse. Hadnt been there in 10 years. Great beer selection, now with good food. Tasty tacos. Still popcorn and they washed the windows!
Great vibe. Friendly bartenders. Reasonably priced pints. Love the decor too.Id like to have seen more non-IPA options on the tap list, but I get thats not the trend.
Food took forever, which for soup and a Cubano shouldnt have. Worse part was jimmy johns sandwich would have been better choice.Service was horrible I wanted to cancel my order it was taking so long, bit couldnt get the attention of the bartender. In bartender defense, it was somewhat busy, but I wad there a week before, it was busier then today and service was better. Funny part is it was the same bartenders.I wouldnt waste my time. Eat at Jimmy Johns and go to glory days down the road for a good corner bar experience.
Bodega has the cleanest dry non-slip floors with nice wide passages perfect for running from the police. Staff know to stay out of the way to make a clear pathway. If only I wasnt fat and out of shape I would have gotten away. They were also good about getting me my last paycheck, and boy did I need it for my lawyer and signature bond.
Great selection, great atmosphere is created with the layout of the seating. Grab some food and sit over there if you dont want all the noise bothering you. I gave four stars because of how long it would take for the bartenders to even acknowledge that I was trying to get a drink, and especially close out. It took about 10 minutes for the only person that could close tabs to get around to us. I also was not expecting how much I spent just for two drinks and a sandwich, but it was a good night.
Great place with Awesome beer selection! 250+ bottles/cans and a very solid eclectic menu. Brewpub name is a bit deceiving as they are not making their own beer there to my knowledge. That being said, awesome selection of cans, bottles and solid liquor selection! Stop in!
Great eer selection, friendly and knowledgeable bar tenders. Shout out to Luna, who did a great job bartending and had great beer selections
Cozy place to have a beer. Good variety on tap, amazing variety in bottles and cans. Pleasant service. Nice view of 4th street from the large glass windows.
We had a large group, on a busy weekend. Though understaffed at the moment, everyone was very friendly and helpful. Im currently in a wheelchair due to injury. One of the staff helped lift me and my chair up the step to get to the rest of our party. The food was really good. Some of the best corned beef Ive ever had. Huge beer list with a selection of ciders as well.
Only wanted food to go during the day and denied me because I didn’t have an ID. I didn’t even want alcohol…didn’t even want to eat in the place and wanted to order it and leave.I understand the ID for alcohol..but only wanting food to go and there was only 4 people in there and it was lunch time…yikes
The third bar I hit on my 21st was Bodega, its decorated very well and the staff was extremely friendly. We ordered a round of shots and then I got to spin the wheel, not knowing what I was gonna get. We ordered Bruschetta with Pesto and tomatoes. It was delicious, after having nothing but alcohol in my belly all night that was exactly what I needed. Awesome place, awesome staff!
They have literally 100s of brews available for you to pick from. There is popcorn to snack on for free. The avocado dip was delicious! The service was super helpful and friendly, no rush which helped us pick our brews carefully. There are couches and plenty of room. We will be back!
Have been here on every trip I make to La Crosse. Their beer selection is exceptional! Last visit was on a Sunday pre-pandemic. Excellent service and they had no problem with my young daughters being in the group. Hope to go again on next visit.
Lots of beer selections available. Limited seating. Large windows which are great for people watching.
Definitely more of a towny bar feel. Great beer selection! 2 stars due to one of the bartenders spending far too much time with their friends at the end of the bar, who spent most of their visit playing videos on their phone as loud as possible. Read the room, yall. People come to bars like this to have a beer and chat. We dont want to to have to move just so we can do so without speaking over your phone videos.
Had the best BLT of my life.. And thats no exaggeration as I am still thinking about it. I have been brainstorming ways to make such a sandwich like this again as I wont be able to come back so soon to this lovely place. Tried the local beer which was also very tasty for a lager! But nothing compared to that sandwich my friends! Didnt catch our waiter/barmans name but he was a proper gent. Cheers to the awesome staff working there at lunch today! Thanks again.
Killer Classic Reuben & Awesome Cubano! Theyre like one of those things you have to keep coming back for & get your fix they are so yummy. Great attentive staff. Excellent place to stop for lunch ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Huge beer selection and a great atmosphere make this a perfect spot for drinks and good conversation. The food here isnt the normal bar fare, while not being so fancy that its out of place. If you like deliciousness, try the cubano sandwich. If you want to live a little, spin the wheel and see which of the hundred beers fate hands you. The only gripe Id have about this place is often the service is a little slow, but worth it.
Loud, crowded and ran out of appropriate glass ware early in the evening. Pretty low end, but prices dont support it!
Is really good food and nice daily deals plus a great variety of beer. On day one the wait staff was super friendly and easily accommodated me. On day 2 my order was severely messed up and part of it couldnt be completed because they couldnt find it on the register even though I ordered the day before.
Good drinks and good food but I ordered a Guinness and I am convinced I got a milk stout. Maybe the tap was bad? Someone should look into it 🤔
Great selection of beer. They use Untapped so download the app and check the best menu from your phone before ordering.
Very large selection of beers, with plenty on tap. Large amount of space and varying seating styles...sit on a couch, at a table, or at the bar. Large windows overlook 4th street. Frequent live acoustic music, and a fun bunch of regulars. Can suffer from its own success, as has tendency to get cramped with crowds and has limited bathroom accommodations. Great stop.
Fun place. We were there on a Thursday afternoon/happy hour. There was a band playing. Loud. Everyone was having a great time. We went there because supposedly the place is haunted. Supposedly the (previous?) Owner hung himself in the basement. Look it up.
My partner and I have never eaten there but the beer is AMAZING. So many choices and all the popcorn you can eat! A relaxed atmosphere with a lot of older folks but as a 22 year old this place is great for sitting and talking. LOVE IT.
We were there on Sunday, there was a blonde bartender, very sweet and the cook told us about the Reuben sandwich. We had already eaten dinner butpromised to go back for dinner the following night. We kept our promise but were disappointed in the service. The server was more interested in the young ladies sitting at the other tables. He forgot to bring my husbands beer and was very slow on bringing our check. Hopefully the young blonde lady will be working next time we visit.
You’re not gonna believe this but me and my wife were here last month and we loved it, it was wonderful, but the next day we flied back to our home Florida and that night we saw an A&E video that a guy named josey or something got chased and arrested, it was weird but cool! Anyways great food, great service and bar 🙏🏼 we’ll definitely be back
The food was good, the service was some of the worst we’ve had. We got the appetizer at the same time as one of our meals. I ordered a grilled cheese that took 30 minutes and arrived after my boyfriend had finished eating. They didn’t ask if we wanted a second beer. Overall will not recommend or go back.
Sat for 15 minutes before we could flag down someone to take our drink and food order. We had to go up to bar to actually get them. Ice tea was a powdered mix. Food took forever, at least it tasted good. Had to go up to bar to find someone to find bill to pay, they couldnt find it. Asked what we had and rerang it. Never once had someone offer us any help.
Food and drinks are great. Service can be slow if theyre slammed but its worth the wait! Staff is really friendly!
Love this place! Always the best selection of drinks and the best Flatbread pizzas!
The food was amazing! Covid Service has definitely changed the atmosphere and service. Just weird. All around*Not just here!*Definitely will be back! And if you happen to find a double or triple xl black jacket.....please let me know. My friend thinks he may have left it there. The Homemade Tomato soup was THE BEST EVER!!!❤❤❤
Easygoing atmosphere, played some trivia on a Monday night, had the pulled pork sandwich, very tasty. Huge beer selection!
Easily the best draft and bottle beer bar in the area. Consistent service. I dont order their food often, but its simple items made well. If you are a beer connoisseur and in the area this is your must go to.
Such a great vibe here every time. Excellent beer variety
I really enjoyed my visit here. The food was absolutely amazing. They have the biggest tap list i have ever seen. The atmosphere was really cool. Lots of cool stuff on the walls and in the windows. Ill go back.
Great food and great service! Sadly, the owner in a City of so much education is forcing all employees to be vaccinated or lose their job. The science shows that the young are at very low risk. Sad when personal rights are so violated.
Food was lukewarm at best, orders were wrong, sides were missing. One of the servers threw our food on the table without a word. Bartender was nice at least.
Very good selection of beers but food options are limited, dated and just ok. Staff is always friendly, seating Is fair, more like a barn than a pub. Prices are good. But seriously needs a food overhaul. Perhaps some real German food or Irish english pub food would help. But only place to get food later in the evening such as it is. Ok but not great.
This place has a great craft beer selection. The food was great as well. It can get very crowded because it is a very popular hang out. If you have not been there, you really need to stop by and check it out!
Loved seeing all of the different beers. Our waitress was incredibly knowledgeable about all of the ones we asked her about. And the artichoke dip was delicious!
BEST beer selection in town. Even better are the bartenders who know beer. And eat there. The Ruben is to die for. All homemade and slow cooked there. Worth the drive!! Thanks guys!
Definetely my go to bar. Cool atmosphere, and many of different beers to try with prices ranging average to ridiculous depending on the beer. Probably not the place you want to go of you just want a bud light.Live music some night, and the complimentary popcorn is great.
Overall a great place to have a quick bite or try some interesting or new beers. Stop in for a drink and check it out
My go-to pub. rotating taps that are always interesting and a great low-key vibe on week days. bodega has expanded their food menu too and their various reuben sandwiches/pizzas are very good!
The Bodega in La Crosse is a classic stop for a drink. They have a wide variety of drink choices and a real comfortable atmosphere. They also serve food, which is alright. Last time we ate there it was a little over cooked. But for bar food, certainly not the worst I have had. Recommend it to anyone looking for a good place for a drink with friends.
Hey staff was pleasant, the atmosphere was light, the food was good. I love the couches and chairs if you just want to chill for a while and have a drink or two. I am sure I will return.
The Bodega in La Crosse Wisconsin is one of my absolute favorite bars in the area. John and the entire staff is incredibly knowledgeable when it comes to everything grain fermented. They always have great taps on rotation and a beautiful selection of bottles from the area and from around the world. The only negative comment I can make is about the price of some of the beers, but I really dont mind supporting a great local bar. They do however offer 25% off on carryouts which I utilize quite frequently.I encourage any beer lover to stop in and have a pint or two, or ten.
Wow. What a neat building. Lots of beer selections to choose from in both tap and in bottle. Believe there were 15 tappers to choose from. Cool to stop out and have a drink. Also serve food.
Great selection of beer. Decent food and free popcorn. They dont play the music too obnoxiously loud unlike other bars. Good relaxed environment to drink a few with your friends.
They have a bike tire on the wall that you can spin to pick one of their multitudes of beer, it has nice big windows so you almost feel like your outside and can watch all the downtown action. They have free popcorn, good sangria and awesome artichoke dip!
I came here on a first date with a really cool girl I met online. The date was wonderful, the bartender was incredible, and I had hands down the best beer Ive ever had in my life here.10/10 for beer connoisseurs. 10/10 for first dates.
Worst service and drunk waiters. I am out of town and went there for a sandwich and some drinks Saturday night. Drinks were watered down and the chicken sandwich(Sicilian) I had was so salty, and tasted like rubber. I wouldn’t recommend this place if you are out of town and want a taste of Lacrosse.
One of the best bars downtown lax. Overall great service. Friendly, competent bartenders. The food here is unique and YUMMY! And they are eco-friendly with paper straws.
Tried cheese curds at my last visit, delicious lots of beverage choices
Nice pub. Good atmosphere, food is eh mediocre, but wonderful selection of beers and great bar tenders. Nice place for a meet up with friends and drinks.
In many respects this place is only ok. However, they have truly impressive beer selection and for that reason alone they get the extra star.
This restaurant does not have table service. We came thinking they would, but have a counter you place your order at then have food delivered. That being said, the tap beer selection is good (15 on tap), and free popcorn. We opted to only stay for drinks and ate elsewhere, but would recommend knowing there is not table service. Also, one of the servers was a little rude.
Ive had both good and bad experiences at Bodega, but its never been because of the service, the food, or the drinks. Its usually due to other people there. Theres a high amount of flow through in the evenings, and of course there are rowdy idiots, but everything else about the bar is pretty cool.
Great bar for getting a variety of drinks if youre looking for a quieter place, especially on weekends when the college folk are around.
Lot of beer, but no information about the beers. Gal pouring couldnt help much. I got a beer that I would never get again. Food was good, beer may be if I had time to sort through the lineup.
I went for trivia. It was fun. Food was really good according to my friend. It looked delicious. HUGE selection of beers!!
Bodega is my favorite bar in town! There is an absolutely massive beer collection that will satisfy any beer connoisseur, but if thats not your style there is a full bar with some very helpful and knowledgeable bar tenders.Bodega has a great food menu as well, as it has a full kitchen. From bruschetta to Cuban sandwiches, theres a little bit of everything on that menu, and its all good.Bodegas atmosphere is relaxed and mature. This is a place to hang out with friends or occasionally listen to music; not much dancing here. There is nothing I dont like about Bodega and I cant recommend it enough!
I love the atmosphere BUT last time I was in I ordered the cantinas tacos and artichoke dip.. Im not sure which food it was but one of them had small shards of GLASS in it. I cut the roof of my mouth and there is a small piece STUCK in the roof of my mouth...
I had the turkey avocado sandwich. Unbelievably small for $9. It tasted good, but the cherry tomatoes in it werent sliced, so they kept popping out. Poor presentation as well, think small white plate and... sandwich. Thats it.
Visited here in April for a few beers and was an awesome time! Bartender recommended a good German beer, which had a nice kick to it.Looking forward to visiting again next year when I return to Wisconsin.
Great selection of brews and great atmosphere. Whoever was playing music couldnt have been more on point, especially with that Umphreys Mcgee ;). Went while I was on vacation and will definitely go back when in La Crosse.
Greatest selection of beers! Corned beef is a must-have whenever we visit LaCrosse!
Keep Josey fired! 10-29-21
Very much a self-serve place, which is not very clear coming in as a tourist. Two different places to go to within the brewpub to order food and then drinks. The flatbreads were pretty good but based upon the elevated pub fare description I definitely anticipated more. This place would get a 4th star because of amazing Appy Hour specials! However, you have to be sure you ask or else the specials wont be honored...
Waitress was rude, told us we need to speak one at a time when we all had said we wanted waters with our bloody marys. Completely spaced then at that point we had ordered waters with our drinks til we asked for them. Bloody marys were split a little when delivered and never wiped up by waitress...Food took long considering 2 out of the 4 were the special and the other two were identical. Nothing special about the special . . Soup tasted like a can of marinara sauce. .. Would Not recommend place or bloody marys.
One of my favorite places in La Crosse; great beer selection, super friendly crowd, open every day of the year [maybe a great Xmas spot this coming...]Try the Pusan, a great Reuben mashup...or smile nicely with a pint and ask them to grill your braunschweiger... For great beer or sandwiches, look no further.
Fantastic food for a low price. The place looks very nice too. The staff was friendly. There is a wide selection of items available on the lunch menu that should accommodate to everyones tastes.
Really nice atmosphere and wonderful staff. We usually just go.for a few beers, but when we are hungry their Flatbread pizzas are pretty great too!
Great spot for epic amounts of beer variety as well as good food! Great vibe, TVs and fun setting to get the night started.
Great place, comfortable atmosphere, good selection of beer, super nice staff and awesome food menu. I had the pulled pork sandwich and it was amazing, HIGHLY recommend it.
This is a few years ago, but when I was there, it was apart of a bar ring in la crosse central that was making alot of money and tax dollars off trying to have people killed. there is one bathroom for over 100 patrons, local beers are too expensive, there is regularly the smell of mildew and mold, I would guess the building is probably not being checked for lead, the bartenders are unfriendly and steal your money. one of the bartenders told me he had to take 50 dollars off my debit card to authorize a 4 dollar drink. they are unfriendly but at the same time keep taking your money long after you are stumbling, they refuse to stop serving until you are upset and then they get brutal. the decor is old, musty and mundane, the company is these pot head biker types, that cant read. the music is acoustic rip offs. there is absolutely no protein on offer, no matter how hungry people get. it was made for rape and death, all laws were broken here.
Looked like they had a large selection of beer that Im sure is good but couldnt get served so wouldnt know. Seemed uninviting and not oriented toward service. Too bad bc we really wanted good drafts and a meal.
I recently visited for the first time and it’s one of my favorite spots in La Crosse now! Jacob helped me find a beer I loved and provided great service. I’ll be back!
Great for a week day stop or a beer after work if you want a huge beer selection. Service and atmosphere have improved in the last few years.
I was just minding my business when these two cops came in and started chasing me , idk what that was about. I assumed they came in for our fantastic selection of beers on tap and delicious food but they just kept talking about subway
One of my favorite places in downtown Lacrosse. HUGE selection of beers from all over the world and a very tasty selection of casual foods. Do yourself a favor and stop in when in Lacrosse.
Wonderful historic place. First time here in LaCrosse. Good food and an amazing selection of beers. Winnie is also a fine bartender and host.
This place has SO MANY drink options. They have great food and vegetarian options, too. The employees were incredibly friendly. Definitely worth a stop in.
Neat place, cool ambiance, nice big open bar area. Plentiful seating good for a beer and conversation. Out of a few staple beers which wasnt a huge inconvenience but a small annoyance.
Stumbled across BBP while looking for another restaurant. What a very happy accident. Beer selection was extensive and food was AWESOME. Give it a try, you wont be disappointed.
I just have to say that they have the best pulled pork sandwich Ive ever had. It was hot but just cool enough to eat, and had the right amount of BBQ sauce.
Great beer selection! Loved the Reuben and Cubano sandwiches and kettle chips and the spicy home made squash and spinach soup! Would return and recommend!
Fine if you want to sit at the bar and order drinks. We were there for about an hour and a half and never got our food. We ended up just putting cash on the table for the one drink that made it to the table and left.
Such a great place to get a different beer, have some awesome food and listen to amazing music. Try the wheel and take your chances on which beer youll get.
Nice bar. Great selection of beers. Nice atmosphere. Great for main street watching. Big glass windows to the main street. Free popcorn munchies to go with your beer.
Great service. Order food and drinks at the bar and seat yourself. Ask for the beer menu for beers not seen on tap. The copper fridge middle of the bar houses 400 kinds of beer.
I had their Cuban sandwich for lunch - very good! I also had a spicy Bloody Mary which was excellent; I love when a place knows the meaning of spicy!
Very extensive beer selection and quality food menu. Free popcorn and live music is nice too
Great beer selection, ordered the blue cheese and bacon bruschetta so good. Fun atmosphere good service and free popcorn. We had a great time.
Wow this is an excellent bar! The food is amazing! Super awesome for a bar! And a great selection of beer and wine! Would come again for sure
Huge selection of beers! Cocktails too. The milk stout nitro is great!
Ordered the Pusan on Monday night and it was so good I had to come back for lunch the next day! One of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had!
Bodega is *the* haunt of La Crosse, IMO. Typically I visit non-peak hours (i.e. week nights late and lunch), so I’ve never had an issue with crowds or finding a seat. Love the artichoke dip, pear crispin, and tomato soup...depending on who is in the kitchen makes a huge difference with the Rueben. I’d recommend ordering any sandwiches with the dressing or condiments on the side just in case.
Best beer selection in town. Good did and usually very friendly bartenders. Theyre open all the time.
Huge selection of beer. Awesome, very patient bartender willing to let you sample and choose the perfect beer! Great atmosphere.
Best beer selection at any bar within at least 2 hours of la crosse if not more. love coming here and discovering new IPAs.
Fantastic selection of local beers and beyond. Bartenders are knowledgeable. I love the atmosphere of this place and it has nice windows for people watching.
One of my favorite bars in La Crosse. I have been going here for years. Great selection of drinks. Food is good and the staff is always great.
I always love to visit Bodega when I am in La Crosse. Have met a lot of nice people there, the sandwiches are good, and the beer selection is fantastic.
One of my favorite lunch spots in La Crosse. My favorite sandwiches are the Cubano and the Reuban. The artichoke dip and bacon & Bleu cheese bruschetta are crazy good! And of course the beers!!!! 😆
Love this bar. I think our server’s name was Jacob and we had a lot of fun with him. Will be back next time I’m in town!
