Pause Massage

So excited to have finally been able to have a massage at Pause (I live on the Wisconsin border.) Janelle was wonderful!! Even better than I was already expecting! My neck & shoulders were very tight & felt amazing after! First massage where Ive left feeling such an overall sense of well-being. The facility is beautiful, feels very peaceful, & is in a great location.

Jeffery was great! I did a deep tissue massage and finally felt like someone listened to me. He spent the perfect amount of time on my focus areas. This is the first time I’ve felt better after a massage. Jeffery did 100% what I needed and hoped for. Will definitely be coming back

I had Jeffery and chose a deep tissue. Boy did it do wonders. This was my first massage therapy session and I was very pleased. He did an awesome job, pointed out what the problem areas were and worked what really needed it. Professional, kind, promoted a relaxing atmosphere, and made sure I was comfortable. I’m sad I don’t live in the area, but the few times I do visit I’m looking forward to scheduling another appointment. Front desk staff was also very kind.

My massage with Janelle was absolutely fabulous. By far one of the best massages I have had. I came last Sunday with my mom as a quick weekend trip. Janelle is so, so knowledgeable about the human body. She was able to simply look at my body and tell mu problem areas with my back. Her pressure and technique was amazing. She was able to target all my sore and tight muscles and help me with my shoulder pain. She even gave great suggests for stretching at home to keep my issues from getting worse. I dont live in Chicago, but I am definitely making a plan to come back and see Janelle. I felt so relaxed and light after my massage thank you!Oh and I did ask my mom and she really enjoyed her massage as well.

I recently moved and did not provide 30 days notice to cancel my membership. Im not able to come in and use my last credit, so I was charged $50 to cancel my membership. I didnt even give my internet provider 30 days notice before I moved! Who would think to contact a massage parlor to give 30 days notice to cancel a membershi? Terrible customer experience.

While visiting Chicago, I had a massage here by Janelle. She was AMAZING! I wished I lived so I could go back to her. If you are in Chicago, go see her!!

Hands down one of the best massages I have received! I have some pretty strong ADHD and I never am able to fall asleep but Nija was amazing and I actually relaxed from the moment she started! Draping technique could have been better but no big deal! I will be back! (:

Pause has amazing therapists and worth the money. I would give it a 5 but I go to the Streeterville location, which could improve with their customer service. The River North location has amazing customer service. Had an issue with the manager about my membership who was so rude and told me I obviously dont know how t o read a contract basically told me to quit or not come in anymore. She was the manager. I reminded her I was the customer with $500 worth of credits. I would love the owner to contact me.. .

Excellent service at the Ontario location! It was my first massage and I chose the signature option. I had Jeff and he was very nice and professional. The room was nice, clean, and had a nice lemon scent. Will be going back.

I visited from out of town and chose Pause bc the google reviews and proximity to my stay. I had a 80 minute massage with a scalp treatment. Everything was lovely from the receptionist, atmosphere, and of course, the massage therapist- Helen! It was fabulous. I would recommend.

I had a great deep tissue massage. Kate applied the perfect amount of pressure and spent time working on my shoulders, neck and back problem areas. She checked in to make sure everything was perfect. I feel so much better!The room was quiet and very comfortable. Im in town for a conference and making an online appointment was super convenient. The price matched the level of service and quality of the massage.

Kate is an amazing masseuse! Ive had two sessions with her so far, and shes great at remembering which problem areas to target. Shes also very attentive and always checks in on my comfort level. The spa rooms are clean and comfortable, and service is fantastic!

The massage was really great--the therapist was strong and skilled. I wouldve given 5 stars except for the fact that there was a booking snafu. Im from out of town and not very familiar with the area. The confirmation email did not include a street address so I Googled Pause and was directed to its other location in River North. I had to rush over in a car service to the Streeterville location and lost 20 minutes of massage time because of it. Make sure you go to the rightl location!

Great experience here with Kate! She did an amazing job and I felt so relaxed after my massage. 10/10 recommend adding on the aromatic scalp massage with eucalyptus🌿 Lovely space and the staff is very professional and helpful! Will definitely be booking my next massage here!

A great massage place! The receptionist was very friendly and helpful, and Tashon and Chris delivered a great massage for my partner and I. The 50-minute massage had just enough time to cover all the important parts, and the staff were great at focusing on the important parts. Prices are slightly lower than most competitors. My partner and I are transgender and we felt respected, and were covered by towels at all times during the massage.

I had an incredible massage with Kate today! The ambiance was very relaxing and all of the staff members were so kind! Kate was very professional and regularly checked to make sure the pressure was OK & that I was comfortable. She was gentle, but effective at working out the knots in my upper back. Would highly recommend Kate to anyone!

I had an excellent experience at Pause Massage today! The reception was very warm when I entered, and my massage with Kate was fantastic. I have lots of tension built up in my back from rehabilitating spinal fractures, and she was very consciously checking in with me on how the pressure felt throughout our session which I appreciated. I feel a huge release after my massage today.

Ive been going to Pause massage for over a year now, and Jose and Marija at the streeterville location are the absolute best! They always bring me back to life after my travels. They know how to spot my trouble areas and always give it extra attention! I go once a month and twice if Ive had a stressful month. Im so glad I found Pause. The place is clean and with friendly staff who know what theyre doing. I can not recommend more.

Janelle from Pause Streeterville literally changed my life with a 50 minute sports massage. I came in with intense back pain and she was able to pinpoint every aching muscle and suggest ways to improve my overall health and body. She is incredibly knowledgable and funny, which makes the experience that much better! I cannot recommend her and Pause enough!

I had the best deep tissue massage today with Jeff (Jeffery)! I booked last minute because I was traveling from Seattle and was in pain, but he took care of my chronic tension with perfect pressure and great stretch. I highly recommend this place. Everyone was very professional and the rooms had quiet ambience.

Bernadette was absolutely amazing! Good deep pressure and hit all of the right spots that I mentioned. I came in with a lot of pain and after my massage I felt a million times better. Highly recommend the deep tissue massage! Also Stephanie at the front desk was very helpful and sweet. This place is a gem and I’m so glad I found it! Oh and very reasonably priced!

Great experience with Kate! I recently completed one of the Chicago Half Marathons about two days ago and even after using a roller and stretching, my muscles were very stiff and tense! Kate was very understanding that I was looking for a deep tissue massage post my race, and she was great to find all the knots and tight areas throughout my calves, upper thighs, and back! I felt SO much better after the massage and definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a massage after a long distance race! 10/10 would come back!

I have had a couple Pause Relax massages and have really enjoyed both. I have gone with Kate both times and she is great! She makes sure you are comfortable and does a really nice job. I have felt much more relaxed/less tense after both sessions and will be coming back next month.

Yesterday I got the best massage I’ve had in a very long time by Kate. Last year being in a motorcycle accident and having pretty bad injuries, my body has been overly sore and begging for a massage so I went to Pause being recommended by my wife and her friend that just recently got a prenatal massage and loved it. I asked Kate to be gentle in some areas of my arm that I do have nerve damage and it is sensitive to touch and she did Amazing working around it and having such a gentle touch when she did go over it. I had to book another massage. So I did, in three weeks because my body has not felt this great in over a year and a half since the accident. Thank you again so much Kate I’ll be seeing you soon!!!!

Had a truly phenomenal experience with Jeff. I opted for the deep tissue massage, and it was the perfect balance between intensity and relaxation - Jeff was super intuitive, and when he occasionally found very tense or tender spots he took the time to ease through the release. Could not recommend Jeff more highly, Ill be back any time Im in Chicago!

I’ve been coming to Pause at this location for over a year and usually see Bernadette but had the pleasure of having massage today by Kate. She was very kind and welcoming. She created a very calm and safe environment and was very mindful of making sure the pressure was good the whole time. She used a heat pad on my back before working on my shoulders and it was a very nice touch.

Just got back from a 3 day music festival and had a a massage from Kate - I feel like a whole different person! Highly recommend her - this is my third time booking a massage with her at Pause and I always feel fantastic after.

Ive been coming to pause regularly since I moved to Streeterville last year! Their staff is AMAZING. Ive been seeing Natalia literally every 3 weeks for the last year. Today was my first time with Kate and she literally put me to sleep and I feel amazing. I booked my next appointment with her too. My boyfriend purchased a massage for me and when I arrived, the front desk was super pleasant. I decided to add on a scalp massage as I had a horrible headache. Kate was my masseuse and she was great! I had terrible low back pain and once my massage was over my pain was relieved as she was very knowledgeable on how to release the pain and tension. She also focused on my sore spots as I am a boxer and during the whole massage she made sure I was comfortable with her pressure. The scalp massage.. it wasnt much of one and I wouldnt pay for that again. The room was quite hot as well. But I felt wonderful after my massage! Thanks Kate :)

I treated my mom to a lovely massage for her birthday because she works so hard. I really wanted her to relax and take a little stress off. Her masseuse was Katie and she did a phenomenal job. I have become a member at Pause because of amazing service all around! Receptionist is always lovely, and my masseuse Jeffrey is phenomenal. Ive gone to him a few times now and he is always attentive to whatever problem areas I have on a particular day. Cant recommend him or Pause highly enough!

We stopped in for massages with our 17 year old children. It was their first massages. The staff was amazing, we all felt comfortable and completely rejuvenated after our massages.

I had the most amazing 80- minute massage at Pause on Thursday! Kate was my masseuse, and I’ve never had such a deep, professional, simply wonderful massage like this. Please try Pause and ask for Kate. You won’t regret it!

Came for a pause massage, my therapist was nice but gave the worst massage, the therapist kept sighing throughout the duration of my massage. I also asked for certain places to only be massaged and I also noted it on my intake form but the therapist did not pay attention to this, he even asked me before we began. He also kept trying to crack My wrists, ankles and fingers which I don’t even do myself. The manager called me to try to “make things right” she kept making excuses for him “well our therapists do breath” and then I brought my concerns up about the therapist cracking my joints and how that should have never happened, I said that only a chiropractor should be adjusting and cracking a patients bodies and the manager once again made an excuse “well actually some of our therapist s are certified to do that” I said even if they are that’s not part of the pause massage. All she offered me was 15% my next massage, I won’t be returning. Poor costumer service.

My first time at Pause Massage.Location: great location, close to everythingAmbiance: the place is clean and modern. It also smells great. They have water and warm apple cider right when you walk in, which is great.Room: very clean, although it would be better if theres more hooks/hangers for your clothes. Also, the head rest is a little small, it was so hard to breath after 30 minutes facing down.Massage: I was looking forward to the massage after reading so many good reviews. However, it was okay. Kate is very very nice, and she did check in with me a few times to see if the pressure was okay. I wanted a deep tissue massage, and I wanted DEEP and PAINFUL, because my neck and shoulders are extremely tight. However, she didnt apply enough pressure at all, mostly very superficial. Also couldnt find and work on my painful knots. She mostly stretched out my muscles, massage superficial tissues and drained the lymphatics, which is fine. But all my knots and tenderpoints are still there after the massage, so of course my muscle tightness and pain come back shortly after the massage.I really like the place itself overall, but I wouldnt recommend the massage for someone with very bad tightness and muscle pain thats looking for a deep tissue massage. If youre looking for just a regular massage, this is the place.

Great service and they were even able to fit me in a few minutes earlier because I arrived before my appointment. The deep tissue massage helped me get the tension off my shoulders! I would highly recommend :)

I had Janelle for a deep tissue after spending the weekend at lollapalooza. She was so excited to explain how my body worked and why in hurt where I did. It made me feel hopeful and proud of myself for getting through the massage (it did hurt but in a good way) she checked in often about pressure and was very strong which I appreciate. If I lived here I would come back.

I have always thought about massage as just a relax thing to do on my off days. Now that I started going to pause they have showed me the benefits of seeing the same therapist and worked on some issues I had no idea was so related to my muscles being so tight. I would say it is more than just a massage, it has truly helped me feel better. I feel even more productive at my work and I would definitely recommend Patricia. She is very knowledgeable and pay a lot of attention to details.

Great massage! Bernadetta is great, especially for prenatal and postpartum massage. The facilities are great too and they have been very careful during COVID to sanitize and to keep things clean. I appreciate the pre session screening questionnaire and the attention to our safety.
