This bar used to be cool. It is no longer. Paid a $10 cover per person on a Friday night, only to experience a DJ who wasn’t qualified to play a bar mitzvah and a bar that was basically empty on our arrival. I think this place mistakes its proximity to coolbars as being a cool bar itself. Well, I’m here to correct that misunderstanding. Do not waste your money on a cover for this place as you’ll be sorely disappointed by the music, ambience, and lack of crowd.
DJ was playing hit after hit on a Saturday night a couple weeks ago! Loved his smooth transitions, EVERY song you could dance to!Spanish, throwback hip hop. Wish there was more people, check it out! No cover when I went around 11pm.
I was there just for the night but enjoyed my time! The staff were great! Very helpful with drinks and general questions I had. They have 1 pool table and 2 beer bong tables. A dance floor with mirrors on one while of the wall. Would recommend for a quick night out.
Tonight at Mother’s on Division and State, myself and my guest was ASSAULTED by the manager, named China, and a few of his fellow security guards. I have been patronizing this establishment for over ten years and I am deeply saddened and shaken with fear for what I encountered from the manager of Mother’s this evening. After what I thought was a friendly back and forth banter we were denied entry into the establishment and as more words were exchanged, the manager with the red hat punched my guest at least 3 times while we were wrestled to the ground by the security team. I am saddened to see how this place has declined over the years due to the rude, unprofessional managers and security that are entrusted to run this facility. They are rough and aggressive with men and women, while the charge what ever prices they want to charge for you to enter.
This bar is kind of split into two sections: the first section is playing hip hop and has its own bar, and then if you walk to the back there is a piano bar with its own bar. the sound of these conflicting styles of music, shockingly, don’t compete with each other. i was surprised it wasn’t absolutely packed on a friday night, but honestly it’s nicer to be in a mid-size crowd. there is no cover charge, they search your bag before you come in. the bar mainly has sling drinks, which i think is fine. (i saw another review who rated them down because the bar staff couldn’t make certain cocktails — a “sling drink”, if you don’t know, is just a basic drink like gin+tonic, rum+coke, whiskey+7up. lots of bars only do sling drinks and that’s fine — just don’t come in expecting a full cocktail program and then rate them down for not having one). anyways, would come back!
Was here tonight 4/6 with my friend for the singles mixer - twice the bartenders did not put me on a tab even though I said yes to them asking both times. Also the music was very loud: loud enough people had to be very loud with their conversations and I could barely hear my friend. Also if there’s food there was no way of knowing about it as my friend and I only saw the drink menu
Sophia, the events/marketing director for Mothers and their sister bars, has always been lovely to work with for finding a venue/planning an event for large groups (200+) at the last minute (like, the day before the events are supposed to occur). Our group has always been very satisfied with the venue, the service, and their flexibility. Thank you!!
I celebrated my 30th birthday here and it was an amazing time. Sophia was so incredibly helpful setting everything up and was great at figuring out what package would work best for me. The dueling pianos were a great hit. Everyone got drunk and danced the night away!
We had a great time! Good drinks, good service and had fun dancing!
Terrible security! Overpacked place stinks spend your money elsewhere is there a 0 star
The general manager kicked my friends and i out when we were standing at a table just for being noticeably queer. when i asked why he had such a problem, he said you know why. he got security to come over and blame it on the fact that i was wearing a tank top. the guy walked away and SECURITY apologized for him being a jerk. i then asked a bartender if there was any dress code since ive been there in literal sweatpants before and he laughed and said no and that the GM is known to not be a nice guy.it really is sad, i would go here frequently and after this i wont return.however, the bartenders are always very nice and the bartender offered me a round of drinks because of the situation. we left, but at least the bartenders were nice about it and offered to fix a situation they didnt even cause.its 2023 and youre kicking people out of a bar in a very liberal city for being queer...
I thought the place would have improved as the last time I visited was 25yrs ago. Well it was quite dirty. Service was bad and the drinks were not good as the bar tender did not know how to make a few drinks.
This bar used to play hip-hop/rap mixed in with other genres which made it great. Now its exclusively a piano/classical bar. Its totally fine if you want to switch up and have a few nights just dedicated to that type of vibe, but for them to change their whole tune in Gold Coast of all places is very disappointing. It seems like theyre in the business now to appease the elderly on Friday and Saturday nights rather than attract the business that keeps you running... which is the college crowd. Ill give it a year before they either switch back to what they were doing before or theyll severely lose out on clientele & go out of business.
Best Bar in the Rush & Division area.A Chicago classic. If you have time to go out, Mother’s should be in your list.I do t know how long it’s been around, but it’s been a while- at least 3 generations of our family have been there.
Not very impressed. Ordered a few drinks they couldnt make and finally settled on a vodka cranberry. Im not sure what they used for the cranberry juice substitute but it was a sickening syrup. We paid $30 for two awful drinks and walked out after 2 sips.
We had a very terrible time here. If you’re looking for a good time this place is NOT IT. Bartenders are slow and the drinks are so weak. Seriously do yourself a favor and skip this place.
This place is not good anymore. It went from a fun, diverse club that played a lot of hip hop music to a piano bar overnight. What was once a go to nightclub spot in Chicago turned into a similar vibe that’s found in the majority of River north bars/clubs post Covid.Disappointing and unacceptable.
I love that they created a dueling piano bar in the area. Great for Old Town and they’ve employed some fantastic musicians. Kaleen Dolan is an absolute star with those amazing pipes! Go check her and the rest of musicians out!
Great atmosphere, variety of music played, diverse crowd, large dancing floor and surrounding area. Drinks can be very expensive (we payed $20 for two shots of Fireball) $20 cover when we went on Saturday. Overall a very fun time and worth stopping!
Big Spanish guy security at the door is racist. He told the people in front of us $10 for cover and told us $30 after we had already asked the other 3 security guards the cover price and they said $10 but that big Spanish guy saw us and changed the cover with the quickness. We got out of line because it was not worth it and then he proceeded to tell the next people who weren’t black that the cover was again $10. That was a wow moment for me because it’s sad that racism still exists and such small things like this is still happening. This happen November 2023Had to come back and change my review because that was the most disgusting I’ve ever felt for another human being. So sad.
Had fun....music was great...atmosphere was mixed crowd (age and race) which was great. My only complaint is they need new bartenders. I used to bartend and there is no way a bartender should making long islands one liquor bottle at a time when pouring and the bar is packed! These were the absolute slowest bartenders I have ever seen and they were rude too!
Tosh was fantastic. Aaron was also a great and made sure that we had a great time. Food would be great early in the evening, but otherwise these two made it an awesome experience.
I really wanted to enjoy my new year eve at this bar. However, the guy at the door was way too agressive. He also made fun of my friend which actually hurt him.He really ruined my mood and I could not enjoy my new year as it should be.Thank you
Mothers has been around for a very very long time. The best thing about mothers is that it offers two varieties of music you have a section right when you walk in which is a little bit older music between the sixties and to the early 2000s but if you want for the back to the second bar its more modern music. It is always a good time my friends and I never leave their disappointed male to female ratio is pretty even. The bartenders are very quick as well as polite and easy to talk with and some of them are most definitely pretty cute. Most nights this places to hit, sometimes I would recommend this place before a club, youre guaranteed to have a good time here
The piano player Katherine was awesome, she did a Rihanna medley was special Im coming back here just to see her she needs a bonus 😁
This place was great. First time Ive been here an it was great. Dance floor was awesome an the beer pong in the back was cool. The cover charge of $5 was not bad at all an they had cash/credit acceptance. Was awesome had a great time great mix of music too defidently would recommend an come again!!
I visited this place last weekend with my friends. They usually charge a cover fee of $5. The whole place is divided into two parts with one with live band and the other with usual DJ. The place is big, there is a karaoke setup in the front downstairs followed by the main dance floor. Music is OK here they play a mix of top 40s , R&B and Hip hop. Overall a nice club to chill.
A lot is going around here in this place. We entered at 1:30 am and we see that one part of the pub had karaoke going on and if you go even further, there is a big dance floor where DJ is playing its tunes and you can groove all the way till 5 am. It was a good place, just that the music was not that great after 1 am but still we enjoyed :)
Loved seeing beer pong tables out and that there were 2 DJs and bars. Cool modern day pop and hip hop music. Coat check there too, and only $3 per person.. fog machines were a little much for me but added a cool effect.
Laura is the best bartender in the Chicagoland area. The bar has a great vibe and is very clean.
Me and some friends were in the city for a night out and stopped into Mothers. There was a $5 cover charge which wasnt bad at all and went downstairs to the bar. The front end of the bar seems to be like an average dive with classic 80s music playing and wasnt too crowded. The back end of the bar is more of thier club side. The bar wasnt too busy but there was a dj. Im not sure about the mixed drinks but the tap beer was warm and over priced even for the city.As it got later in the night there started to be a lot of standing water (or drinks?) on the dance floor and it was impossible to dance and have a good time with out getting splashed and it began to smell like spoiled beer. The front of the bar was fun but with all of the options of bars around we decided to find somewhere else to go and dance.
Mothers is the most racist disrespectful place I’ve been so far. They refuse to let African Americans into their establishment claiming that they have a dress code for a BAR that’s not even that fancy. I like the music & the crowd but I feel that they need to change their policies & improve their customer service. Especially there management/front door security.... like dude we are not living in the 1960s !!!!
Late night food! Good prices, pretty good food, pool tables, and even a punching bag game. One of the more dive-y places on Hubbard street. A great place to hang with friends and not have to shout over blaring music. Decent number of TVs as well if you want to watch a game.
Kaleen and Daryl were awesome. Service and bartenders were horrible. Would go back for Kaleen and skip the drinks and horrible bar service.
Worst and most prejudiced blond haired bartender by the small dance floor in the back. If she think you look a certain way and less attractive shell ignore you and continue to serve others while trying to make herself look cool. I just could not believe it. I stood there watching people come up after me and get drinks for like 10 mins and others leave sipping with a look on their face like dont she see him. Smh.Update: Theyve stepped it up and have some good bartenders now. Ive been back twice this year and enjoyed myself. Thanks
It’s been forever since I hung out in this gem!! What a fun night… the door guys were so inviting, Jason is awesome… saw our old bartender buddy Heather training the new kid Clark! Everything was awesome!
Its a nice time. The music was kinda throwback Thursday and the drinks were kinda on the expensive side. The atmosphere is nice and the bartenders are nice as well.
Great happy hour specials Thurs, Fri n sat
I am not the party person but my first experience is still an awesome experience.. The people, place and persona has landed me a job that I truly love... The Staff is what I call SUPERBLY Spectacular. Thanks to Mike I am cool, calm and cozy in this environment. THE ORIGINAL MOTHERS is the place to be if youre looking for food, fun and favor.. Thanks again Mike and the Original Mothers Staff. Most importantly I am thankful that I have met a fan based CULTURE..I give THE ORIGINAL MOTHERS a ✋ clap and two thumbs ☝...My name is Rhonda and I am BLESSED...
Always a fun time. Great music/DJs, awesome dance floor, bartenders are attentive, and the bouncers do a good job. Shout-out to my girl Mya behind the bar, girl you are the best.
Horrible experience, I had a friend feeling badly and they kicked as out threatening to punch us. They ended up carrying my friend out instead of letting him walk in a very aggressive manner. We had done multiples events at this venue and they acted terribly bad. I’m surprised by how badly we were treated by the staff and I felt intimidated by the staff threatening to hit me… terribly disappointed
The scene has changed. The di sucks. They no longer play a variety of music. All they play is rap and trap. No EDM. No reggae. Nope. Just rap and trap. So if youre looking to dance, save yourself the trip and $10 cover charge. By the way, dont bother talking to the DJ. The requests go in one ear and come out from the other. So disappointing. All you will see is people on the dance floor not dancing. So lame. No longer coming here.
Worst place for a first date. Best place at 2am with your friends. The bar is huge and there’s a giant mirror with disco lights where the dance floor is. Definitely do not come here until it’s very late and you’re under 26 (or super fun).
I went there tonight only to be told I couldn’t enter because “I was wearing sweatpants” when I clearly wasn’t. I wore the exact pair of pants last year from my birthday. I even checked the dress code before coming as always. I travel to Chicago from the west Suburbs, only to be told I can’t enter. Step up your game, Mothers, or get closed for business.
Forgot about this hot spot on Division. Went out with a girlfriend and stumbled in. DJ Wreck It had us dancing for ours. The bartender Heather was so fun! Jason was so friendly! Must visit this hotspot..
I had a great experience here last night and really liked the bartenders! Great service, music, and not too crowded. I will be going back for sure
Bouncers and guy who you paying cover are really downside of this otherwise cool venue.I payed cover then he gave change of 10 bucks all in one dollar bills and then he hold it that way that it drop all on a floor, I guess he plays that game so people just leave money on a floor so he can get it for himself. Or he want to disrespect you by watching you picking up bills from floor while he and other bouncers are standing and acting all important and talking to you as its ur fault. Or they had problem cuz I look different then them.. Either way, its wrong to have such characters working with other people. For the venue inside I give solid 4 stars. Good music/dj, crowd, drinks, spacious.
Fav bar in Chicago. I like to bring people here because theres something for everybody. It’s divided into two parts, each with different vibes (bar vs ~club). Cover charge Friday and Saturday nights (after 8 or 9p, IDK) that range from $5 to $20 (e.g., st pattys), but I think it’s usually $5. Also, there are like 6 beer pong tables that are sometimes in the front, but more recently theyve been in the back.Big Island bar in the front room where I’d say it’s more chill. The lighting is dim and neutral, and I think they play different music than they do in the back, which is at a low enough decibel that you can have a conversation without yelling. Seats around the bar and stand-up stables across from it.The back is club-esque, but not truly a club as I don’t believe there’s bottle service and I’ve never seen a sketchy dude sulking around slinging drugs. Huge dance floor, DJ, three bars (all pretty big and with seating), more stand-up tables, a lounge, coat check, and (usually) most of the beer pong tables. They say people come here looking for love (for one night *cough*) due partially to the movie About Last Night. I’ve never seen it, probably because it stars Rob Lowe. But I met my girlfriend here on Jan 12, 2018, so I guess there’s some truth to what they say.
Awesome addition to the neighborhood. Not sure whos cutting the carrots in the kitchen but they came along side my wings like immaculate spears of orange goodness. Perfection.
I went to Mothers with friends to celebrate my birthday and a friends housewarming May 20th. They were charging over $2 for water. I paid for it. Then a friend paid on my behalf. Then I got annoyed having to pay while I was out. The bartender explained this was company policy. I went to talk to the manager up the stairs. He provided a free Fiji water (I asked for tap). Fast forward 2 hours. I asked for another water. A new manager explained that I am not special as a breastfeeding mother (I was hoping explaining that Im pumping and needing to stay hydrated would get me water...) and that I do not deserve special treatment as I already received special treatment. He asked if I wanted to step outside when I was upset. Although I certainly do not think I deserve special treatment, I am disgusted by the ignorance of this bar. All patrons deserve free water. He began recording me asking me why I thought I deserved special treatment as a nursing mother, stating I didnt need to be at his bar and that I elected to be here. I elected to leave. And I sincerely hope you elect not to go to this bar.
The venue is a very college-centric locale with beer pong tables usually preset for the incoming crowd. I come here for LUSH: An interactive burlesque game that takes place in the secondary bar area, the show is hosted by Eva la Feva and features a range of eclectic talent from the burlesque scene in Chicago. Starting with a drinking game that incorporates the performances , there are games with audience participation interspersed between the acts. Fun and relaxing way to start the weekend.
Love this place, 2 large different areas with different kinds of music. Large enough that it isnt overly crowded but popular enough that it isnt remotely empty. Really cool place, good drinks, great music. I will come here everytime Im in Chicago
Best way to spend a Saturday afternoon playing some beer pong and watching sports. The bartender Taylor is awesome, but watch out! Her boyfriend is a huge Nebraskan that you certainly dont want to mess with.
Definitely a bar to go to if you have a party group. Lots of dancing and fairly priced drinks. But also reminds me of college bars, lots of barely 21s and a little dirty. Not my style, but the music was fun.
My gal pals and I tried getting in here on St. Patricks Day and one of us had a sowpack on, making sure everyone was staying hydrated. With actual water, not alcohol, as could be implied. Our hooves just get so tired sometimes. Anyway, some calf at the entrance exclaimed you cant have any liquids or weapons in here, to which the cow with the sowpack on replied we dont, forgetting she had a SIXTH of a bottle of bourbon and two unopened bottles of water in the pack. Obviously not allowed, so my main squeeze said sorry, well get rid of these, but a man-bull at the entrance proclaimed no, you milkmaids tried to sneak those in here. Get out of here or Ill gore you. This conflict was fought over, again, a SIXTH of a bottle of alcohol and two unopened bottles of water. My friend calls me and tells me the situation, as three others and I had already gotten in and assumed there wouldnt be an issue. I came back up and explained that it was all a misunderstanding and that we have friends already inside waiting for an udderly good time, but this brazen bull yelled no, they lied to me! Theyre no allowed! To which I replied this is ridiculous to treat paying cows this way. Can we get a refund for our cover then? He barks (dog verbiage for a bull, how peculiar) youre more than welcome to get stamps on the way out, as if he was doing us some kind of favor. Keep in mind, my dear reader, this was St. Patricks Day. What would he do? Probably burn the establishment down for hedonism, as he was actually very pious and despised those who stood against the church...alright not my best point. Still, dont go to this place. Theyre rude and Grinch-like. Plus, the place is called Mothers, but there wasnt even any respect for us cow mothers. Talk about a cruel irony.
Its a safe fun and mixed environment. The Dj rocks the house! But their is discrimination at times depending on who is at the front door, but other than that this is my favorite place to come to .
This place was fun. .great crowd only after 11 PM.. we got in free coz we checked in early. The dance floor and game tables all were great.. it was a fun night!
In few words it is funny and wild. Located in a strip where you can make easily change bar without taking the car. Where is a little bit of too much division between the forts bar room and the club in the back. But maybe this can be considered a skill!!!!
Very fun and exciting place! The drinks are great! The bartenders are attentive. There is more of a younger crowd, but location is mixed so you get a variety of ages.
The actual bar is pretty fun but I have never had a bouncer be as rude as the mother’s bouncer was. Also the bartender was so drunk he could not talk. Ruined the experience.
I love this place! Got three different rooms the first room got the Karaoke the 2nd Room gift shop and the 3rd room is where you can hit the dance floor and get down lol. Its open until 5am
THE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!! Just visited this place last night and for some reason the bartender (with the blue hair and tattoos) refused to serve me, so i walked over to the other bar got a long island sat at the bar while waiting for my boyfriend to return from the restroom. She gives me a dirty look and tells the security guard to escort me out! They escorted me out as if i did or said anything to the lady smh..Black ppl dont waste your time or money on this establishment!!! I will be taking further actions to see that this place gets penalized for this act of discrimination. I was humiliated as if i wasnt a paying customer.
This place was great! Beer pong tables set up right as you walk in, 2 bars in the back with a big dance floor. Karaoke was going on which was great for us!
Let me preface my comment by stating I am a law enforcement officer and Navy veteran. Subsequently, I have worked a few security gigs in my short 30 years. I have been to this establishmemt a number of times and have had great experiences, fun times with friends and family, meeting new people etc...However, this last time on February 27th 2016 was my my LAST time I, or my friends will ever frequent this business and heres why....On the above date, I sugggested a group of family members 3 guys and 1 girl, (in town due to the sudden death of my uncle) meet me here for drinks in celebration of his life. Since as stated previously Ive always had good experiences at this place it seemed like a good idea, right?? Well, I was the first to arrive and minutes later I received a txt from my cousin that said We cant get in because of our boots (1 pair of Dr. Martens, 1 timberland, and the other Nike acg).My problem with this was that after sitting downstairs at the bar for over 30 minutes, I spotted at least 7 white males with boots on as well!! Two of the men ages 28 and 27 (one clean cut, one bald, one dreads) were CURRENT MEMBERS OF THE ARMED FORCES!! Did the bouncers care?? Nope. Did they care when I came up and explained they were from TN as their license showed?? NOPE. Did they care when I explained there are several Caucasian males walking around with boots on?? NOPE!! So what am I to believe other than this is a clear case of discrimination?? Id like to think myself a pretty logically thinking individual and as I mentioned earlier, Ive never had a single gripe or complaint about this business, but my integrity as a black man, as a human being in general can not, and will not be compromised.I spoke with a manager as well and explained the situation to him and he was at least reasonable and said he would come upstairs and check them out and let them in. But in the grand scheme of things I dont believe I should have to validate MY CHARACTER simply because I dont like wearing a button up, straight legged jeans, a dingy beat up cubs hat, and some skechers, or in this case BOOTS! Sorry I waited until I had a bad experience to write a review but the only time my wife complains about the garbage overflowing is when I dont take it out....
Original Mothers is the place to be if you enjoy a variety of music, huge crowd, friendly ppl and POPCORN. There is never a dull disappointing moment. Stop by and see what Im talking about. 26 West Division is the place to be.
False advertising on their business hours.they claim to be open until 4am but in reality they stop serving drinks at 3:10am and kick everyone out at 3:30amthis bar actually closes at 3:30am so dont let them fool you with their 4am claim4am claim is false advertising and needs to be fixed on their website, 1 star review will stand until the hours issue is fixed on their website.
The bouncers of this place are a tell-tale sign of the quality of people that hang out here. If you miss college and love bouncers who act like they’re protecting President TJ Whitmore, hand your ID over to these illiterate sapiens.
It was a group of about 25+ who were celebrating a friend whos in a sorority AKA birthday in a Wrigleyville bar crawl like our college days. Inherently bigoted, racist staff & security. I came to this bar in a bar crawl with brown Oxford shoes and black straight legged jeans & a denim shirt, can you believe they said my jeans were baggy? I got in but I didnt spend a dime because my friends mother had to threaten the doorman because her husband was a police officer! Ive had problems in Wrigleyville before because they dont allow you to wear Jordans? Really, dude. This is Chicago. Beware: if youre a Black man, stay away from here. The owner uses the bouncers as a vehicle for prejudice. Would never go back here.
Great time! They have a beer pong set up in the lower level, which is a blast. My only problem is that the drink prices are super inconsistent.
This place was fun , played some beer pong , however for cover it was card only . What kind of places charges cover and only accepts card . Cover was only 10, I had 20 dollar bill that they would not accept.. and they even charged me tax on that cover .#notcool
I wish they played more lively and urban music lbs. But overall I loved it... They had a good deal on jello shots this day too
Nice environment...the music is all over the place drinks are small and pricey... the floors were wet and disgusting from people spilling drinks and no cleaning staff
This is the classic division street bar in Chicago. Remember that movie About last Night? This is the kind of place Demi Moore and Rob Lowe hung out in. This place is always full of tourists. In fact, I only end up here now when I have people from out of town. They have beer and dancing but its a little dark and seedy.
Bartender wouldnt serve water to my friend who was having a rough night, said it was company policy you had to buy the water. He suggested beer even though she could barely walk, cool bro
My favoritebar!!! I love Sean and the other your lady. They make you wanna come back lol They give free peanuts(you throw the shell on the floor).
It is a good place to hang out and relaxed i love the music they play friendly bartenders is just a great place i been here four times and this still make me happy me, my friends, some coworkers i work with love it to.
Mothers is an awful place for various reasons. It’s so bad that it doesn’t even deserve a long review so I’ll keep it short. Chicago has a bunch of amazing bars. Don’t waste your time here.
Great spot for a drink. It’s been there forever. I’ll be back📣
I had such a good time here. DJ needs to play more updated music though
Free popcorn, not many beers to choose from and a $5 door charge. This place is an institution but there are better bars in Chicago.
I went there for the first time last night and it was pretty cool. The bartender Tessa was amazing. Im definitely going back
Pretty fun for dancing, cover was excessive at $20 each for an unnamed DJ.
Great music - the drinks were amazing and cheap! Definitely will be going back :)
Chill spot. Lot of black ppl for a more mainstream bar/club. Pretty good music
I can pretty much count on having a good time at Mothers majority of the time. They always play good music, and I love doing karaoke.
Loved the atmosphere, went with a group of friends. Enjoyed every last minute of it. Definitely a place I will try to visit again.
Drinks were great atmosphere was wonderful DJ did need a little help though and be careful wearing heels going down those stairs
Good bar to have a good time with friends, the drinks were good, however if you are looking for value, this is not the bar for you, I was drinking jack and coke, and the glass was smaller then it would be at most bars.
This place used to be very diverse with the music now its the same thing everytime I go. Starting to fall back on this place.
From the statues and the chest pounding beats, the drinks flowing and the dance floor moving to the groove of the local DJ, this place still proves to be a classic in Chicago !!
Great bar- a Chicago classic! The bartenders are really friendly, and they play great music. It’s a fun spot.
Limited parking, so that alone could be a hassle. Depending on the day of the week or event plan on a big crowd. Its not what it use to be, but fun can still be had.
I love this place way way way too much. I think they steal memories from you as you walk out the door though. Everything always seems to be so hazy when I wake up in the morning.
The blonde bartender was knowledgeable of drinks and was urgent with providing outstanding service
Late night spot. Enough said. Dont fall for the door guys tricks about being at capacity for a tip. Place was empty till about 1 so save your money for the over priced drinks.
What a fun place to go to if you arent into fancy Chicago Bars. It has a great place for live music at the lower level bar too.
This place is great. Good drinks, attentive bartenders, and all the vanity mirrors you could want. Fear the Rogue Nuzzler.
If your black be told you cant come in for no apparent reason me and my friends were stereotyped and told we could not enter when asked they could not say why dont go here they are racist Me and my friends all wrote letters to the mayor yesterday because this place cant possibly think they can stay in business and treat people that way just because of skin color its sad that this is the world we live in
Its a Cool Spot, and Club. I Like The Music Variety, Crowd Diversity , Decent Drinks and Good Location
The worst experience ever, the manager and staff is racist and they were very rude and disrespectful to me and my guest! It was so bad that I wish I had the time to take further action against them! I will never give them my business and u shouldnt either!
Love this place cant seem to find any other place to go. My wife loves it my friends all love it. Just a nice drama free place to be
It was too packed to the point you dont have room to dance. People were too loud to here the music
Fun drunk times with a diverse drunk crowd..cant dance nobody cares its about having fun..thats the vibe
This is a racist establishment me and my friends went to use the bathroom who happened to be black there were a couple of white girls smoking weed in the bathroom they automatically assumed it was us because we were the only blacks in the club so they kicked us out I am highly upset never again I dont recommend no one to this shack
If its not crowded, it feels like an empty dungeon. Definitely not worth the cover
Nothing special, $10 bucks to get in (m/f), drinks and music were ok. Kinda stuffy.
Little early in the evening so a bit dead but pleasant atmosphere and the staff was nice.
Turned a Tuesday night into a lot of fun. Dont mistake this for a hole in the wall, great staff, lots of fun!
Glad they were open so late, I was able to get a birthday shot in...yay!
Boring..small..too dark..not so cool songs..smelly drinks and above all no one knows the dance..no hot chicks..
Cant go wrong with a place that has such history. In a very tourist centric part of the city so it tends to be a mixed crowd.
It was a really fun atmosphere and some fun loving cool people to party with.
The general manager ron took care of us so well I be back with friends thank you
Great Traditional Pub for good food and drinks with daily specials for your going out needs.
Very fun, but the dance floor often gets very hot
Different. No food just POPCORN. DRINKS were in little weak. Had fun.
Love this space. Definitely a melting pot of people all coming together to have a good time.
They asked me to pay a toll simply to enter. I know Illinois loves tolls but this is ridiculous!
