I Love Bogarts! There is so much music history there. Check out the bricks on the walls when you go in there. The artists who have performed there, have their names painted on the bricks. It is breathtaking. I have been there many times throughout the years. The tickets are usually reasonable. It is a great time no matter who you are seeing. The Staff is kind. There are several bars and several bathrooms. There is also an area out back for smoking. There is ADA access. There is also VIP upstairs if you need seating.
I recently attended the Jerry Harrison & Adrian Belew Remain in Light Tour at Bogarts, and it was an unforgettable experience. The sound quality was top-notch, and the staff were incredibly friendly and efficient. However, there were a few aspects that fell short of my expectations.Firstly, the drink prices were quite steep – $33 for an Angry Orchard and a High Noon seemed excessive. Additionally, I was taken aback to find the venue ( at least at this concert ) was entirely seated. While I knew I had a seat when I purchased my ticket, I assumed there would be a pit area for dancing. Unfortunately, this was not the case. The staff were kind enough to inform me that I could not stand and dance in the aisle or towards the side due to fire hazard regulations ( after I had tried to stay out of anyways line of sight to dance ) which I understood. However, this meant I ended up dancing at my seat, constantly worrying I was obstructing the view of those behind me. Im not sure if this was a decision by Jerry Harrison and Co. or by Bogarts, but seating was definitely not the right choice for this venue. The stage is already elevated, making it awkward to look up from a seated position. More importantly, who wants to stay seated for funky, high-energy songs by the Talking Heads and Cool Cool Cool?I had purchased the VIP experience, which was well worth it and excellently managed by the Bogarts staff. Nonetheless, I would have gladly paid for early access just for standing room close to the stage. The seating arrangement felt stifling and awkward for the type of concert it was.Despite these issues, Bogarts remains an amazing venue, and seeing Jerry Harrison and Adrian Belew live was one of the best nights of my life.
I’ve been to a lot of venues and I kinda avoid Bogart’s. It’s not that it’s bad… it’s just not good either. The staff is nice and it’s easy enough to get to, but I parked three blocks away and it’s just a narrow venue that has some weird sound dynamics. Further compounded by a speaker that was blown very near where I was standing. In the end, if I had to choose between driving to Nashville or Cinci from Louisville, I generally will choose Nashville even though it’s an hour further away. And for a band like Hot Mulligan, who most recently was touring with Fall Out Boy, I picked Chicago because it was too big of a band for that venue.
It is hard to say you love Bogarts. You love the bands and the music and the experience, but do you love the big black empty box? The bathrooms are meh, the bars are reasonably fast but at the end of the day its still ...Bogarts. The friendly security team and bar tenders are the tinsel on what is otherwise a mediocre tree. Ill go back ...we all will...often but I just cant say its a 5 star joint.
The coolest new spot on Short Vine in Clifton that I had an awesome time at for the first time!!! Went here to see Lucky Daye for his Algorithm Tour on the 28th of July and I must say that the show was ELECTRIFYING!!! He brought the house down with his electrifying performance and energy. I will definitely come back here and experience more shows!!! 10/10
It was OK. Smaller venue. We paid for tables in the balcony, table was tiny. The view from the balcony was OK until the concert started, then once people stood up you couldnt see anything. Basically just watched on the mounted tvs. Wouldnt be my choice for future shows. At least not ones that are sold out or near sold out.
I love this venue. I have seen countless shows here over the past 25 years. There have been some great ones! They upgraded the place a few years ago and its so nice. Bogarts will always be a main part of Cincinnati to me! They get good bands to perform every year and change it up for different listeners. Here for Mom Jeans. The box office person was awesome. They were sold out and she helped us find some tickets online. Very cool and patient!** Tickets for the balcony cant be purchased at the box office **Alvvays show was great. The bar next to us had some issues but the bartender was very professional about it and instructed people to go to another location. He was also VERY patient with those who wouldnt move from the walkway.
Good place to see cheap shows, sometimes major artists. Drinks arent too expensive and there is a smoking pavilion. Unfortunately for more popular bands they tend to overbook and you might have people right up next to you breathing down your neck. Its all standing room, and you might be smelling the guy next to you.
I’m not a big review writer, but after attending the sold out The Used/Story of the Year show last night I have to commend the amazing staff at Bogart’s for putting on yet another great show. It was hot, it was uncomfortable at times, but every single staff member we interacted with were pleasant and seemed to be enjoying their time as much as the concert guests. Staff also seemed to be taking extra measures to ensure crowd safety, which was appreciated. Stuff like that makes you keep coming back (and we will, time and time again)
They have truly upped their game in the last 5-10 years. They easily have one of the best sounds in comparison to other local venues. As someone who goes to concerts on a weekly-monthly basis, Bogarts is one of my favorite spots around. The only downfall is the drink prices now... but that just means Ill get drinks before 🤣
They recently remodeled and cleaned up this place (at least since I last went). Though as an elder emo, I have fond memories of Bogarts grimy basement phase, I enjoyed the improvements immensely. The sound quality is better, theres a balcony area with a nice private bar, and overall the place has become much better. We saw Matt Maeson sold out and the crowd was managed really well. Kudos to Bogarts, and now Ill be back sooner!
The venue has a wonderful staff, both very kind and professional. Security took their job seriously, from making sure everyone was IDd before entering, down to making sure the crowd-surfers arrived at the stage safely. The interior was very nice, and I loved seeing the giant posters of some famous music stars who have performed here since the 70s. I will be coming back for concerts in the future and might come back for another Emo night!
It was ok. The sound quality was decent and it is a large venue. I enjoy that it has some history and has had a good lineup of artists. However. I think it could be better maintained and perhaps the capacity should be reconsidered. The floor was sticky immediately upon entry which was off putting. As previously stated I believe that the venue allowed more tickets than reasonable for a comfortable experience. There was hardly a spot were you wouldn’t be bumping into someone else or stepping on peoples toes to move through the space. The bar service is understaffed and the drinks lackluster. I wish I could be more positive but it was not my favorite concert experience. Edit: I do need to add that I appreciate their security measures it definitely made me feel more comfortable in terms of safety.
Fun place to see a show! Lots of room, great sound and polite staff...very polite! Just be aware, the more popular the artist, the longer the wait. Bogarts takes security seriously. So everyone gets scanned and empty pockets. They dont care about about weed, cigs, and vape...just dont forget to leave your pocket knife in the car!
Went to see All But 6 at Bogarts and enjoyed my time on the VIP section. The tickets were reasonably priced (only $25 more than floor) and it was worth it to me to not be pressed into a thousand sweaty bodies. Drinks were very good and reasonably priced. VIP service was nice, Mara did a great job. The private bar and restrooms are awesome. The view from the VIP deck is great. I didnt feel like I was missing out on anything and had my personal space. We arrived at 6pm and waited in a line that has formed around the block. Went very quickly and were in by 630p or so. Show promptly started at 700pm.My only complaint is this very drunk woman practically assaulted me and my husband by violently grabbing us and shaking us while she danced. And she continues to jump over chairs and complain about how sweaty she was while getting in my husbands face and touching his face. Turns out, she was sweaty because she had COVID and she was wildly drunk. Thanks to her, my husband and I have spent the last week housebound with a positive COVID diagnosis. I wish the staff had done something about her sooner while she was violently shoving herself into many people in the VIP section... Maybe I wouldnt have been sick for the last week if they had kicked her out before she threw herself all over everyone.
This is a very nice place! The staff is amazing! They have an elevator for people in wheelchairs. They also have a special seating area for the handicap. The staff is amazing!!! Thank you for having Alexandra Kay last night, August 4, 2023. We came in from Bridgeport, Indiana, to see her and would definitely like to come back to Bogarts! Thank you!!!
Great venue..... super expensive drinks though. $9 for a tall Pabst in a can. Other than that, loved it. Saw August Burns Red there last night. They have a nice VIP section upstairs with its own private bar. Couldnt afford those tickets, however that would be the best place to see a show. They were going to allow us to stay up there in the balcony behind the VIP seats, but I opted to go down to the floor.
My wife and I are death metal fans. We heard that Cannibal Corpse, Immolation, Dark Funeral, and Black Anvil were going to be at Bogarts. We quickly bought tickets and paid extra for fast lane. Front row center!! It was one of the best times that we have had on a date night. The guys in security were awesome, and we loved talking to them. The rest of the staff were excellent and very nice. We cannot wait to go back and catch more shows there. Its definitely one of our top places to go.
First time visiting Bogarts for a show that actually went on. Bad America experience in the early 90s. No fault of Bogarts, America just didnt make it. It was what it was. However this was awesome. ZoSo, the legendary Led Zeppelin tribute band, lived up to legendary. As well as Bogarts. Plenty of bar space with multiple bar. Easy in security and admission. The sound was awesome. The lights were awesome. The band was phenomenal. Standing Room Only. Tough for children. VIP and ADA seating available for sale and those in need, respectively. Definitely a repeat. Highly recommended. Plenty of parking around at a nominal charge. Live Music at its best. Load, crunchy, and raw!!!
Killer venue! All general admission and quick to get a drink from the bar despite being a sold out concert. Wish they could get more acts to stop there on tour and cut out some of the lower quality events. Its also located in an area with plenty of restaurants and bars so its really nice to be able to conveniently have dinner and then just walk across the street when doors open!
We had an overall good time at a comedy show. The bar access was great, the employees were helpful, and I loved the layout except for one thing--the table seats were definitely not worth the extra $$. It was the first time Ive splashed out for anything more than general admission, but theres a big plastic sneeze guard thing (?) blocking the view from our seats that kind of ruined it. It even had fingerprints all over it so it was pretty distracting. If you get a table, I highly recommend not going for the ones at the edge of the balcony.
Went to my first show here - The Psychology of Serial Killers and it was awesome! Not just the show, but the venue was ran smoothly, had a great selection of food/drink, and helpful staff. The venue really is cool to look at as well. Im going to look for more shows here!
This was such a great venue to see The Warning play! The staff was great, the sound was great, and I was able to rock out less than 10 feet from my favorite band. Parking was a bit wonky, but thats not their fault. The blame lies with Cincinnatis idiotic mobile parking app. But. All in all, a great place to see a great band.
Went to AK show and for a Friday night show they rain out of things. No pretzels, no Dr Pepper. Service for having a private suite was not the greatest. Spilled drink in entry way no one cleaned it up. It was like we were put in there and on our own. Some random lady popped in and had a seat in the suite. We had no idea who she was. I give 5 stars to the guy at the bathroom outside the private suite. He was the kindest person I encountered.
The venue was pretty cool. Very big, but when the crowd piles in, it gets jammed. We saw Bilmuri in concert and it was fantastic. Beers were 11 bucks a piece but were pretty big (cans). Will go back again for the right band.
Went to Bogarts to see Spencer Crandall, country artist. Was really surprised that security took our prescription medication and put it into a zip lock bag with our name on it and stored it in a locked wooden box. They also would not allow pens in the building either (afraid of graffiti). We could have left these items in our car if we drove, but since we took a Lyft they were kept in the box until the end of the night. They did return our belongings at the end of the night. Luckily it was a small crowd. I cant even imagine how chaotic that would be if the place was packed. The bartenders and the wait staff in the seated area were really good.
Just had my first Bogarts visit with the security located outside on the sidewalk (see my pic). They had folks outside checking IDs and making sure you were in the right spot for your ticket. It was all pretty efficient. Inside, the floor beer stands have the cool bottom-fill draft beer cups, but not modern credit card scanners with touch screens (they actually print out a receipt to sign). I thought the sound for BTE was not the best Ive heard - the drums were overbearing and the vocals sometimes hard to understand. But, quibbles aside, Bogarts is a legendary Cincy music venue and still a great place to catch a show. Ive been coming for 31 years!
Oceanator, angel dust, & PUP on 6/5/22All ages event. First concert for the teens. I quickly found out going to concerts before and after kids is a way different experience... I became uneasy during the second set when a moshpit started getting rowdy and the kids were forced next to it. I started to regret my decision to bring them, but when PUP came out, they made me feel at ease by reminding the crowd to take care of each other. Security helped kids crowd surf and get the full concert experience while remaining safe. I was able to relax, get out of mom mode, and enjoy the band.Easy parking, everyone had to show proof of vax or get tested to get in, restroom was clean, merch & bar were easily accessible.
At first I thought it was someone throwing water bottles but no. The ceiling was literally dripping water. I was worried the ceiling was going to cave in. Dripping water from the ceiling on my head & everyone elses all night. Put the artists name to work @ the Liquid Stranger show Bogarts.Been coming here for 10 years and the staff isnt the same. Im sure everyones experience is different & Im not saying the staff as a collective has an attitude but theyve refused to serve me alcohol as soon as I walked in (hadnt even had a drink yet) on top of other experiences I dont feel like elaborating on. Sure, the floors arent as sticky anymore or whatever, but do better Bogarts. The people are here for the love and my friends and I have had way too many experiences with your security being rude to us for me not to post this.
The ventue isnt too large. Which I love. Weve been here long ago. And a few rimes mote recently. The employees were extremely helpful. My only issue is that I was stuck in the ADA area, which is in the very back. Thanks to having surgery on my foot. And it was packed. If I didnt have a plate pur in my foot, Id have gone down into the crowd. It was busy. But, not uncomfortably so.
One star for the person wearing so much cheap perfume that I am having an allergic reaction and cant sit in the seat I paid for. They were unable to move me to a new seat, so I just wasted the upcharge. And $10 for a Coke?
The employees has been so helpful to accommodate me for my hearing impairments, they made sure I was close to the speakers so I can maximize my experience there. Best concert I have ever went to. The space was clean and friendly there, security was everywhere so you’ll feel safe if there was any dangers lurking. Would recommend this place to go to concerts and events. 100/10
This is a much improved Bogarts from what I remember. Gone are the sticky floors and scary bathrooms! And the smell of old cheese is gone. They have gone cashless now which makes it convenient just to carry your phone and leave your wallet behind. The sound could use improvement. While loud, the horn speakers dont provide definition to the sound and it ends up being shrill. Other than that, there is plenty of parking nearby and the area has been gentrified somewhat and not as dodgy as it was a few years back before Covid.
Nice, smaller venue. Was impressed with how many security people they had. Cash less venue. Must have a wristband to buy a drink.
On 3/19/24, we took a good sized group to Bogarts to see Alestorm. We planned this for months. Ahead of time, we called the venue to ask if their coat-check would be operating. This was key because we were all in costume and would want to eventually remove the more bulky clothing items to get down in the crowd and in the pit. We were told the coat-check would be available. When we arrived, we were told coat-check was NOT available. Some of our group had large hats etc and nowhere to put them. This show was also in March and it was quite chilly outside still, so one should anticipate guests to be wearing coats or jackets. It was poorly executed by Bogarts to not open coat-check. They also ran out of water for patrons. They only sell canned spring water and once they were out of that, they wouldnt even allow us to buy tap water. That was poorly executed as well. Hopefully this venue gets their act together. Its otherwise a fun venue.
Venue was really nice. Parking is just across the street (garage is VERY cramped). Drinks were good but overpriced. Overall, positive experience. Would recommend.
First time at Bogarts! Drove two hours from Indianapolis and did not regret a second of it. The venue itself is very nice. Sound was excellent, as was their security team. Ice Nine Kills sold out the venue, and despite there being 1,400 people in the venue, it still didnt feel crowded. We will definitely come back!
A good standing venue. Smart to bring ear plugs, my ears were definitely ringing by the end and we werent even at the front. My husband got a soft drink deal where you can have free refills and bring the cup back to future shows. He was pretty thrilled about it. I tried their wine, which was in a can. Pleasantly surprised by the taste and definitely better than drinking from an open cup. Bathrooms are good. May not be the most accessible venue as there are stairs to get to general area, bathrooms and smoking area.
Lived in southwest Ohio nearly my entire life and have heard often of bogarts, but never been… until last night. The place is great - staff is wonderful, no long wait for drinks, and everyone was respectful. I really wasn’t sure what to expect, but was set at ease nearly instantly.Word of caution though: if you are seeing a decently popular band, show up early. Parking was a bit of an issue as one of the parking garages was filled to capacity.
Ive enjoyed shows here before but this was too crowded for any enjoyment.. oh and cinci this crowd was not a good vibe.. excuse you . PLUR is dead. the show is great..my third time seeing Microworlds. it was a silly long wait w intrusive security. cool lightshow ,good sound reinforcement crew. and the security inside was pretty ok
All the staff I interacted with were pleasant but security were definitely at the top of their game! Their coordinated efforts and attention to detail while handling a rambunctious crowd were truly fantastic.I really loved the setup of this venue as well, with bathroom entrances downstairs on either side of the stage. Staff did a great job of maintaining designated walkways so it was pretty easy to traverse the venue even at a sold out show. I’d come back for that convenience alone!
Great time seeing Offset and Skrilla... Good place to see a performance.. I do suggest getting seating if within your budget.. Standing room only for Gen. Adm.. can get a little tiring.. But overall good exp..
Been to two separate shows here and both were great! The staff seem to run a tight ship and keep people safe. There isnt a bad place to stand when it comes to seeing the stage. However, drinks are through the roof, and you may have to pay $10 to park. Otherwise, pay attention to club policy and youll have a good time!
Amazing intimate venue! You can get so close to the stage which is so meaningful when you see an artist/band you love perform! 💖
Super nice staff! Plenty of standing room up and downstairs to find your favorite view. Parking wasnt awful and the prices are AMAZING for drinks/tickets especially compared to Columbus venues. Multiple bars, security is efficient and nice, not power trip hungry but sincerely helpful and dedicated to keeping everyone safe. On a random note-Its the only bar/music venue Ive been to that didnt smell like cheap beer, but was super clean and smelled great!
Went to a concert there everyone was having a good time. The staff was nice even gave us umbrella because it was raining that night. I will definitely go back.
Great venue but security acts like gestapo so hide your weapons in your waistband lol Ticketmaster thugs made me toss my gum but still got my blade in lol
We had a lot of fun tonight at Bogarts tonight watching that Arena rRock Show and Staci Michaelz & the Electric Congregation! I am mobility challenged, but the staff at Bogarts is so polite , respectful and helpful. Shout out to Meg, and Rachel, and another sweet gal, tho her name escapes me, currently. The show was so much fun and I love it that it was a family friendly one too. We really enjoyed ourselves this evening! Kudos to all!
Love this venue! Its very nice after all the upgrades these past few years. Ive probably seen 20 or more shows at bogarts. The smoking area out back is nice. Excellent sound quality since they upgraded the speakers. Theres not a bad spot in the house the stage is just the right height. And they have multiple bars so not much wait time.
I have seen many great acts here. I have not been in years but always enjoyed the friendly atmosphere.
Although it may not be the best sounding venue in Cincy, it is definitely one of most nostalgic. I have seen sooo many great shows here in my 42 years of living here in greater Cincinnati.
Went to see Twiztid. Awesome venue ! Very quick to get thru the security lines. Drinks were very good as well !
Pretty good venue. Very clean. The cashless part messed me up a bit but overall pretty sick.
Good venue..watched alestorm there..liked that the parking lot had cameras..staff was friendly and the drinks were good..
This is a really awesome venue with cheap drinks gatorade and water was $3. Lots of cool artwork on the walls of bands and artists that have previously performed there. I dont think they have a parking lot or garage so be prepared to walk or uber. We walked from our hotel off McMillan. Bathrooms and smoking area is in the basement. I didnt check that part out.
The venue was perfect. Im sure the locals all know about it, but to anyone visiting, it holds up to the hype.
This place was my entire childhood. I have seen more bands here than I can count. The up close and personal atmosphere of your favorite bands can not be beat. The building is a bit old but has stood the test of time. At 40 years old I still go to shows here to this day. The wide selection of genres of music is what draws people of all walks of life and is what makes this place truly special and dear to my heart. I would definitely recommend!!!🤘
Great event space. Concert being general admission standing room guaranteed a dancing night. So much fun! Bars were open staffed and adequate.
I love the openness of this place and how anywhere you are in the room is a good place to see the show and dance! Security has been a bit aggressive as of late and the floor is always always sticky. Bathrooms have always been clean which is nice but really dark in the bathrooms
Great venue. Great sound. Nice staff. (Stiff Little Fingers rocked)
My first time at Bogarts I had a blast. I was there for the Raw natural born artist show titled reflect this past March. It was my first time doing a fashion show outside of my University. All the stuff that was working that night was phenomenal. What I dont like about the venue is how small the rooms are in the backstage area. I do think that someone needs to rethink the design of that but other than that no complaints. By the way I am a designer and my business is Elizabeth Jr LLC Im on Facebook and Instagram @elizabeth_jr_🌿
One of the best venues. I drive 3 hours to go here.
Theres a reason why this venue is still around and full of people. What a great little intimate venue for live music.
So much fun. Staff is really friendly. Super clean.
My first experience there was to see Jordan Davis. It is the perfect venue for a small show. Wasnt overly crowded. All the general admission tickets are standing room only but there are tables available at extra cost, prices vary depending on where you want to sit. You can reserve your table and parking in advance so you dont have to fight for parking. Drinks are reasonably priced and every employee I encountered was very nice and helpful. They also have complementary ear plugs available at the bar. Had a wonderful experience!
Personally I have been to Bogarts about 30 years ago but wanted to see a new up and coming artist, Teddy Swims and the Elephants band. They were fabulous. The venue, not so much. No seats, standing room only. I am in the last quarter of life and need to give my feet break. No help there.
Venue staff was quick getting people inside, drink prices were fairly reasonable with a good selection. They had local beers on tap and a full bar. The floor wasn’t too crowded and there was room to move around. Bathrooms are located under the stage so it takes some navigating to get there. The view of the stage is pretty good, but the acoustic are quite terrible, don’t plan on hearing much else but the instruments.
Got to see Digable Planets here recently. Great space. Friendly staff. Sound could use a little tweaking but Im sure its a band by band situation. Overall a great experience.
Bus Driver for “The Band Camino”. Thanks for your hospitality. See y’all again soon I’m sure.
If you drink a blood alcohol level of 0.04 theyll tell you that youre over served. Most shocked Ive been in 2 years lol.
Awesome venue lounge probably the best in the area. So many awesome shows and events. I always go here and legends for a good time. Its a definite favorite of mine. If your looking for a chill time, good drinks, see rockin music, and to make memories and party. This is definitely the place for you!
The venue is well organized, has friendly staff, and quick drink lines -- but it would be good if they gave recommendations for parking and clarification that cash would not be accepted
First time visiting. We follow a certain band wherever they go.Parking pass was a joke. Parking staff didnt know what they were doing. Had a long list of names for who was attending and asked everyone (in the middle of parking) to find their name. (Security issue exposing others.) Barcodes werent scanned. Guy claimed he didnt even know why they give it to you guys. Early pass even more of a joke. Stood in line for over an hour with an early pass to only have staff let people with the same pass, who visibly jumped lines, in first. 🤦 But prior to that there were cars pulling up with sketchy individuals promoting their business to those in line outside. One security guard was horrible towards the front of the stage. Older lady was having a good time and he kept yelling at her to button her shirt. He was also swatting and yelling at another guy on the other side of us for whatever reason. 🤷 Photographers blocked our view many times in the front. Given its their job, but as a photographer myself, it should be known people paid money to see the show. Not the back of their heads and equipment.Building was nice and spacious. Restrooms were evenly spaced and nice to get to in a mess of people. Beer kept flowing. Bonus points. Although the amount of beer still on the ground when arriving made all of us stick to the floor. (Pants touching floor not advised.) But thats normal for a bigger revenue.Overall it was a good time. Hopefully theres more communication with the staff/vendors to fix the parking and line standing while reminding security, theyre at a laid back, pumped up, banjo concert. Women are going to take their tops off... apparently. 🤣
Drinks are reasonably priced (unlike every other venue Ive ever been to) and the view is good from just about anywhere. The sound gets a little muted on the balcony, though. The area used to be terrible, but strides have been made and its actually not too bad anymore. I still wouldnt walk down any dark alleys if I could help it.
Where to start, this security staff is terrible! Not only do they make you throw away any and all candy which is dumb af and makes no sense! They make you take your hat off, shoes, they check your pashmina......like come on now! Its more strict than any festival you go to and its not even close. Any other venue in the city I recommend over this place!! They make you do all of this just because you look like a Raver not for Amy other reason.......literally was walking by headed to dive bar before going to a show here and heard the security manager say, yeah we want to check people that look like that guy which is dumb af!
Love this venue , always have a good time. Bartenders and security all have been great. Shows are always awesome!
I went for a rave and the security was very nice. Lines were quick, bathrooms were clean and stocked. Even had free tampons. Parking isn’t overpriced.Only reason I give it a 4 is because I wish there was an outside section to get some fresh air without leaving the venue and not being able to re-enter and it’s a pretty small venue
Grew up coming to Bogarts and always had a good experience. In recent years theyve made changes to maximize revenue, which have ruined experiences. Theres two bars on the floor which create lines and make it hard to get down the stairs. Their reserved seating and VIP areas have removed floor space, and a sold out show means itll be overcrowded with not enough viewing room. I went to a dance party at Bogarts that they sold out like a concert last year, and there was literally no room for dancing. Their entry also takes forever, and even if you arrive early, youre getting in after events have started because of how slow it is to get in. Again, another money grab so you buy a quick pass. Most recently, I attended a Teddy Swims show and there was still a line to get in an hour after doors opened. No room inside once again, which whatever. However, I watched a man puke on the floor, no one came to clean it up, and another woman slipped and fell in it. Just absolutely disgusting.
Erin is literally the best bartender that ever vibed. 18/10. Give her a raise.
Went to go see Digable Planets. Great atmosphere, clean venue, felt safe. Performers were excellent.
Came for the Shrek Rave! Very fun time, great venue. The whole event ran very smoothly. I got a killer parking spot right across the street.Staff was so nice too. We lost our car keys and the staff got them from the back office for us.Only criticism is that the drinks were not very good.
Smaller venue space but we still had a good time! The VIP section wasnt the cleanest but we still had a great view of the stage. I was glad to see the bathrooms were very clean but it was a little weird that the door was propped open and everyone outside the door had a full view of half the bathroom. Not sure we would spend the money on VIP again.
Great local venue. Been listening to music here for decades.
I went to band of horses concert. Im 42 and my girlfriend is 46 but she did forget her ID. Gonna own up to that right away...however simply because we look plenty old enough to drink I didnt think it would be a problem. I want to clarify that we were being very orderly and respectful. I was on my second drink when we were pulled from the crowd and I calmly told the staff, hey man youre being an unnecessary cop right now. Nobodys breaking any laws. Big mistake. I was informed if I hadnt said that to staff that they would have let us back in. No joking just walked us out no refund. I tried to reason with them calmly. No use. 200 bucks down the drain. I want to clarify that when i said they were being cops I was sober I have no anger issues I was simply referring to the fact that they could have ignored us and even if policed busted in to arrest underage drinkers it wouldnt apply to us. I was simply asking for some common sense and not mindless no bracelet no drink rules. I asked them to simply consider why those rules exists in the first place. Anyway. Im on the spectrum but fairly self aware. I feel that they were insulted and stole my concert because I pointed out calmly that they were acting like police in an unnecessary way. I get that technically my 46 year old girlfriend wasnt carded but I want to live in a world where people have some basic common sense. We were respectful patrons and it was really u fair to get boosted after I paid 200 dollars to see my band.
This place is the WORST!!! It really sucks there’s no better option for touring bands who come thru Cincinnati, because this place is absolutely terrible in every possible way. They act like they have the capacity for large shows- they don’t. Security is an absolute nightmare. They set up some rickety security walk thru on the sidewalk out front, with one person at a time being able to go thru. From the time they open the doors and start letting people go thru, it takes literally HOURS to get everyone inside. With one single ticket scanner that barely works inside the doors. Better hope you don’t wanna catch the first or even second band playing, because if you’re not there hours ahead of time in the front of the line- you’re not gonna see em. Ever since they did their “renovation” there’s no room for merch to be set up efficiently. It’s just jammed in the center of the upper level where people have to get in some weird cramped make shift line to get it. I don’t even know how multiple bands could possibly set up merch tables. There’s no space. Instead they’ve put several tiny bars everywhere, eating up the little space they used to have to make that possible. The staff is also HORRIBLE, rude, and down right act like jerks 100% of the time. I don’t even know what they spent the money they did on in that renovation cuz it sure wasn’t on any nice sound equipment for the bands. I’ve been to house shows that sound better. I don’t see what the point of making that patio so nice was when the interior of the venue is the same trash it always has been. Truly the worst venue in town.
Seen harry mack there (highly recommend his shows), the venue is really nice, I sat up in the balcony with a clear view of the stage, sound quality was top notch in the venue. Theres a giant standing room only space in front of the stage, drinks were a little expensive would be my only complaint. Didnt try the food that was there
Great venue and awesome place to hear live music:)
If you want to watch a performance while being at a a large scale dive bar (in a good way) then this is the venue!!! Good acoustics great staff, and good lineups of musicians! Not much in Cincinnati thats a direct comparison, so enjoy it for what it is!
Awesome small-med size concert venue. Mammoths 2nd time there, said they loved it.
They went through my prescribed medication, took my husbands chain that hooked to his wallet… like… too intrusive! Looked in all my pockets in my purse and cigarettes. If you wanna bring something in, put it in your bra/ between your legs 😆 It’s a damn concert with people who didn’t make it. EXPENSIVE drinks, expect to spend $15 a piece.
Great shows with great people. Could probably work on the sound system though.
Bogarts staff oozes weird behavior.I’ll start by saying that I have had positive interactions with SOME staff members here in the past but majority - extremely unpleasant.Does bogarts staff not understand that some people are sober? Denying a guest (who paid for a ticket into the venue) a larger cup of water when requested because I haven’t “purchased” anything from said bartender is wild. Being told “no, you haven’t bought anything - my rules” as they hand me the smallest cup of water with a smile on their face is seriously weird behavior for a bartender. Sidenote: I had tried to break a $20 with his buddy working beside him so I could tip for water throughout the night but they’re cashless now and I didn’t bring my card (they sell Liquid Death cans). I have also worked in hospitality for 16 years so tipping in cash is something I always do.As someone who again, does not drink very often, I still understands the importance of staying hydrated during a 4 hour show. It took me requesting a water for a lady getting sick in the bathroom for someone to give me a normal size cup of water (thank you to that bartender). I understand the business side of wanting to make transactions but denying a necessity like water is crazy.I’m sure I do not have to go into detail about interactions with security as I hear the verbal complaints about how they treat guests over and over throughout every event I’ve been to.Shows are being over sold (anyone who attented Clozee last week can attest to that for sure). The floors - my god please mop them. Majority of the male staff needs to do better. The level of uncomfortable these employees make guests feel is not acceptable. Bogarts - do better please.
Love the concert, but Bogarts is an inflation bar. alcohol is crazy expensive, beer prices are beyond questionable and fall into the greed category. They dont take cash, another downer. And before the show even started the floor was sticky, walked the whole floor and not a single non sticky spot. I can only assume they dont dump their mop water regularly.
I have so many good memories at this venue growing up with my friends and family. Its only improved over time. The whole atmosphere is so peaceful and revamped, bathrooms look great and overall layout of the entire venue has really cleaned up a lot over the years. Inside and out. Hopefully we can continue to make Cincinnati a safe and amazing place.
Recently attended a concert here for the first time in 10 years and had a good experience. Security was quick and easy with multiple lanes of metal detectors. Grabbing drinks was fairly quick, their new bottom filling draft system help speed things up (and is super cool to watch). Was able to snag a spot on the sides, which was nice having a clear lane for traffic to move through (and they enforced it). Even saw someone fall out to which medical had a quick and large response. The sound was pretty decent except the openers sound was not great. Overall a good experience.I look forward to coming back.
Just like old times, except with less cigarette smoke and more roped off areas for VIP seating. Maybe Im nostalgic, but I miss first come, first serve seating and balcony space. Dont miss the layer of smoke at eye level.
We went to see Bowling for Soup. The accommodations for handicapped individuals were extremely helpful, the staff members were all incredibly helpful and friendly, and my son had an amazing time at his first punk show.
Havent been that impressed by a venue in awhile. The staff was absolutely on it all night. The security was fantastic and caught almost every crowd surfer and handed out water between every set. Everything was excellent
Floor is way too sticky.Even before everyone started spilling drinks.
I still loved the show but sound quality not as good as other venues i have been to, even small ones, especially up front. Vocals were washed out by other noise. Keep it up though. Fun times
I love the aesthetic of the venue as well as the bands that play here, unfortunately the audio mixing is rather off for many of the bands, especially dependent on the genre. Also, my sibling attended with me and the guards at the line refused to allow her to take her prescription medication in that she NEEDS anytime she eats something due to an enzyme disease. This made me furious. They did not even allow her to get out of line and put the meds in her car, they forced her to throw them away.
Love Love LOVE!Went to see Microwave, and it was amazing!👍 Thumbs up 👍
Awesome venue. Met a lot of great people and saw three amazing bands. I cant wait until next time
Been here a few times, a couple times I saw Streetlight Manifesto and this last time saw Silversun Pickups with my friend. Awesome venue! Good vibes! Had floor tickets and as long as you dont mind the crowd, you can have a great time.
I dont know where to begin because I dont know how people tolerate this place. Its evident from reading and my experience that they tend to oversell tickets. There was no room on the floor to a point where people had to overflow around the ADA seating area (which defeats the purpose of the ADA seating) and into the bar. Everyone smashed like sardines obviously. Drinks overpriced, whats new. The people that work there are friendly enough but they are working with a broken thing. I also know they cant control the location where this is located but the area is super sketchy. Trash everywhere, alternating pizza and smoke shops. Suspicious characters left and right, truly did not feel safe coming here.
Cool venue but $10 for a PBR? Sad.
This venue was one of the best Ive been to! It was very open and easy to get around. The bar service and entry service was excellent. Security at the front seemed to really enjoy handling crowd surfers and did wonderful at maintaining crowd control. There was a child next to me, and the security was very proactive in looking out for her. Water was given to anyone who needed it. The bathrooms were pretty unique but also super cool and clean. Overall it was a great experience and I definitely recommend this location! The only complaint/suggestion that I have is the entry process. We lined up in front of the sign for fast lane, but found out much later after lining up that it was the general admission line and even though we got there super early, we were at the back of a very long line for fast lane because of this. A neater and more organized entry process would be nice.
Great location for seeing a concert! No bad spot for viewing and never waited very long to get a drink. Will be going back.
