Our favorite night here is Wednesdays... Advanced line dance lesson with great teachers, 18+ crowd, more modern songs, more line dancing overall and the most popular ones. All you can drink for $10.Thursdays is ladies night. No cover and free drinks for ladies 10pm-12. They do a pretty good job of playing line dancing songs. The djs will take requests, but rarely ever play them...or give the excuse of I dont have that song or I dont play that music until after 10. 🙄 .The Friday teacher needs to slow down!! Friday is supposed to be beginner line dance lessons and it was not beginner friendly at all.She needs to say the name of the dance and the song. Play a song preview before starting the lesson. She went way too fast. There were restarts and tags in every dance! She uses terminology no real beginner would know.My husband called it the Bataan death march of line dancing.Website needs to be updated. We arrived for the free dance lessons and were charged cover.Overall good people and good vibes.
Great bar if youre looking to dance and have a fun night out - the dance floor and layout is great. Getting drinks was fast and the music was great. Staff was friendly. Reading some of these negative reviews make me laugh, this is a bar, not Ruth Chriss steakhouse - manage your expectations. If you simply expect to have a good time and package that with good attitude I think youll have a great time. Dance on!
Very fun and inviting atmosphere. Lots of folks, including staff, are willing to teach everyone dances and partner as needed. Early crowd, very chill. Live band, entertaining. Did not get an opportunity to try food. Drink selection is good, and barstaff is very responsive/attentive. Security staff are successful, I felt safe and secure.
We enjoyed our Friday night at Whiskey Baron. Staff members were very polite and accommodating. There was a wide range of patrons that made for interesting people watching, and the DJ played great music. It was entertaining to see all the great dancers there. My friend and I are inspired to take lessons now so we can participate at a high level.Well be back!
Family owned business should be a little more professional on reasons of kicking someone out of a bar without a valid reason instead of using a bartenders personal matter outside of work. The manager was very rude and unprofessional and told me I had to leave and I was only there for 5 minutes regardless of what names I’ve called her on the way out of the door. I’ve given this business money for many years and made a lot of friends that work there and never experienced anything so childish at a bar. Word of advice, don’t bring your personal issues that a bartender has that occurred outside of work (I.e. not wanting to “date” her anymore) into your place of work especially when you are a regular at your favorite bar.
I’ve only been twice now in my 6 years of clubbing here in the Springs and this place is always the place to be apparently on Wednesdays. It’s their “College night” and if you’re over 21 there’s no wait Or line to get in but under 21 it’s a little more busier. But the music is great mix of line dances and old/new hip hop. They even have beer pong and for hole on the main stage and poker and other games all around the building. Absolutely blast will have to check out their ladies night next!
Overall I had an okay time, Ashley the bartender was super friendly and even remembered my name when I would come back for drinks. Bit of an older crowd on “military night.” I requested a song from the DJ and he claimed he doesn’t usually play it on Fridays which was odd to me but he eventually fit the song in. Would recommend for older people
By far this has to be the worst service I have experienced. I was coming to this bar for local poker nights and brought my wife here for line dancing. When its slow the service sucks the drinks are 30 to 45 min waits. Once it gets busy forget about it. The manager came in and that was a waste of time. She was rude and the excuse was only one cook three different occasions. I have worked in the service industry and if you only have one cook and your to busy then stop serving or jump in as a manager and help the cook. If your bartenders cant handle the load then jump in and handle the load. I tip high and order a lot of drinks. No lol nger coming here. Dont make the same mistake I did.
As a patron for poker and dancing for several years, with average bar tab of over 100 per night, tipping 30% or more, twice a month, I am severly dissappointed in management not taking accountability for poor bar and food service that occurred on recent visits. Its understandable when you have new bar tenders or new cooks, but when service is bad, own it, take responsibility for it, take care of your patrons, and move on. In our last two visits when service continued to be poor, the manager continued to make excuses rather than solving the problem. Its inexcusable and signs of poor management and ultimately ownership. Its no wonder why several good bartenders and waitresses have chosen to leave. There are many better options in this town.
Super fun and I went with my girl friends and we had ladies night on Thursdays. Got free tickets to Maren Morris for my birthday. Love country music and dancing.
If i could leave no starts I would! We had a group of 5. 4 women 1 man. And us women were aloud in and our 1 guy wasn’t aloud in. They asked him how he was he thought they said how old are you and it’s so loud he couldn’t hear so he said 22. He said “you’re drunk you cant come in”. When we asked what happened he said that our friend told him he was was drunk. Which wasn’t true. They stole our money. Laughed at us when we asked for our money back. NEVER GO HERE!! They will steal money and lie. Awful people. They called my friend the F slur! if you’re wanting to keep customers maybe don’t be HOMOPHOBIC! The cops were on our side. I have been kicked out before for being “too drunk” when I was 20 and haven’t had one drop of alcohol. They just want your money! Again DONT GO HERE!!
I would give this more stars except for one incident that happened. I have been here before and always had fun I loved the band! But the manager or whoever she is was extremely rude. I am gf and can’t eat anything they have for food. I didn’t realize that until I got there. I needed to eat so I went to the door and asked if it would be ok for me to order from an outside source and have it delivered. The security at the door Didn’t even hesitate when he told me that I could do that. I did. When it was there, I went to the door to get it. This woman who never even introduced herself proceeded to tell me to go outside. I followed her out there where she lectured me about ordering outside food and how I couldn’t take it inside. I explained the pathetic menu that did not fulfill my dietary needs as well as that I had asked for permission. I explained that I would have never ordered it and spent the $25 if I knew I wouldn’t be able to take it inside. Not only did she not care, she never offered any compensation or any further solutions. She told me I had to eat it outside or in my car. She Didn’t even know if I had Ubered there. I’m disgusted with her…poor manager if she’s actually the manager. She is a terrible manager. Her people skills are awful!
If you don’t know how to line dance and are trying to learn…BEWARE!!!! You WILL be asked to leave the dance floor (mid song), by being CALLED OUT by the DJ while trying to learn and worse…kicked out of the bar. Really sad and disappointed with a place that I have loved coming to, turning into such a stickler of a place while trying to teach new comers. No wonder Fort Carson has this place black listed. DO FREAKING BETTER. especially when you “pride” yourselves on getting new comers to learn how to line dance & swing. Severely disappointed. :(
Cleanest dance hall Ive ever seen, gracious owners hosted an awards ceremony and the space was perfect for a large event with nearly two hundred people.
There were three guys at the front eating food from an outside fast food delivery while charging cover when you arrived. They were very rude and almost seemed annoyed to be bothered while eating their food. I did find that the bartenders were very nice and probably could have used some help from at least one of the guys up front that were eating while working. For first impressions, this was not a good one. Seems they could be more professional. All in all, not impressed. Will go to a different venue on a Saturday night.
On Fridays from 6-8 they have beginner line dancing lessons. So many laughs and fun to be had.
Outstanding fun country vibe, plays requests, hosts birthday parties, easy to meet people, Bettys line dancing is superb, Kristens dance lessons are entertaining, my kind of place in a good neighborhood : )
The Whiskey Barrel Saloon was awesome, but the midget wrestling was a joke. When my fiancé bought tickets it showed the midgets on tv, and then on Sunday morning it changed. We were disappointed because the show was staged and fake. It wasn’t worth the money at all.
We attended a fundraiser for a dance studio to provide scholarships for young people. It was a delightful show and a great venue.
The food is absolutely horrible. Make sure you eat before you come here. They advertise their menus and encourage you to order food. The serving sizes are smaller than a grade school cafeteria. They were out of half of their menu at 7:30 PM. The wings were an embarrassment. They are the smallest wings that I have ever seen. At first, I thought it was a joke. The wings were smaller than my eight year old son’s fingers. It was a major disappointment to come to watch live music and dance AND we hoped to eat a meal. I want my money back.
No food inside, but a convenient food truck right outside the door. This place is very clean, not a sticky bar.
Great atmosphere, drinks arent way overpriced. If youre looking for a fun, adult night out. This is a great idea. Loved it. Billiards and dancing!
Shelby is the best bartender in the world 🌎 she really listens and has great suggestions. She makes whisky feel like home. 💗💗
Went on college night and waited for the beginner line dancing, which they started late. The instructor wasnt fun or great, and pretty much gave up on us and moved on to what was more fun for her. Maybe Friday nights are better?
That was the best arm wrestling tournament venue Ive been too in a long time. The drinks were great. It was an awesome experience. Hoping they have more tournaments in the future!
Whiskey baron calls itself a dance hall and saloon and, while I’ve only been on college night, it feels more like a night club with a country twist. It may not be the best place to go for a night out, but it is about the only place 18+ can go out in Colorado Springs (only on Wednesdays though).
We recently visited on a Friday night for a Trea Landon concert and while we found the bar to be just right for cleanliness and ambience, the service was very lacking. We paid for a VIP table and then were told we didn’t have a server because someone called out sick. The bartenders made you wait while they chatted up their friends. This place has 5-star potential, but I recommend the GM really pay attention to who is getting attention when needed.
The Whiskey Baron Dance Hall has all the trappings one would imagine a country themed dance hall would have; dance floor, bar, assorted tables, pool, poker players, etc.Im not a fan of country music, but that said I can see how this might be a nice place if you enjoyed such things. I wont be rating it off of my disdain for the music, rather the layout of the dance hall itself, social interactions, and decor. The layout is interesting, it definitely tries to encourage people to dance, the dance floor is inset in the middle of the room and hard to miss, the strange thing for me is how much effort it takes to get down there but that isnt a detractor to the score.Social interactions here werent incredible, but werent horrible either. After a few rude moments the rest of the evening was rather pleasant, everyone else I met seemed chill and genuine (though perhaps one visit isnt the best judge of the clientele)The decor is ... average, its not incredible, it isnt terrible, I wont likely remember this place in 5 years and thats fine, it seems to be the vibe they were trying to give off.All in all 4 out of 5 stars seems reasonable for a dance hall that doesnt offer anything new to the genre.
So nice to have this dancing venue close by. Sure beats having to drive downtown. Great place to dance and enjoy some drinks.
I really don’t understand the bad reviews. I’ve been visiting WB almost every week for the last year or so, and never had a single issue. Since it’s away from the touristic areas you will meet mostly locals, which makes the place even more authentic. Bouncers and bartenders are amazing and friendly. Yes, sometimes you might need to wait a little longer for your drink, but it’s because the place gets really busy (no more than 5 minutes though). Try coming early, and get a good spot. Thursday night is one of the best nights. They usually have great bands on Saturdays. Finally, if you don’t know how to dance, locals are very friendly, and someone will be ready to guide you through the steps.
Was here on Saturday Oct 14th for Aersarm Colorado State Armwrestling Tournament. Great environment, plenty of space and the staff was very accommodating. Will absolutely be back when I get the opportunity.
Attended the Lonestar concertWe bought the VIP package they advertised but when we arrived we were told the backstage passes were not valid and they refunded a small portion of the cost. Staff was rude, bad view of the stage even with VIP tickets. Dont waste your money on the VIP tickets you get better seats and views with standard tickets.
The employees who work here are the ONLY reason I used to come here. Awesome staff. Everything else is eh.
The establishment itself was fine; typical dance hall. Line dance lessons is one of the featured things about this bar. When you have a group of people come out specifically for that purpose and the class is canceled because the instructor called out last minute (which happens a lot), its very frustrating and disappointing. We tried to call before showing up because of this known issue but no one answered the phone. The GM was very sweet and tried to teach the class and save the night. I appreciate the thought and the effort. It wasnt the same and the inconsistencies make me not want to come back.
Of the available options, this is the best country dance hall in the Springs. The bartenders are friendly, the staff is helpful, and the music is a good mix of old and new. They generally will also play some hip-hop later into the night.Make sure you check their event calendar before you go. They usually have live bands but if theres a special concert it will cost more to get in and theres usually no dancing because the crowd watching the band stands on the dance floor.
This place has a great dance floor, often has really good live music and overall one of my favorite places to go when I want to do some country dancing!
We were from out of town. Wish we wouldve know Wednesday night is pretty much high school night. These kids made every single song into a line dance. The drink menu had a Bahama mama on it, I dont typically go for that when we go out dancing but thought why not. I got it and they had made it with tequila... Definitely not made correctly. The place wasnt terrible, Id probably try it again on a different night but I wasnt impressed that night.
The parking lot was empty, the 21+ line was mixed with 18, the security have no idea what’s going on. would not recommend if you’re looking to go out on a Wednesday.
Great drinks and it was fun watching the line dancing.
I always have an amazing time here. It is not too crowded, it has great live music as well as a great DJ. It has songs that you can dance to as a couple and line dancing if you go by yourself. There is so many bars there is not really alot of wait time to get a drink and it is never really that packed that its too crowded to have fun! I will continue to go to the Whiskey Baron every chance I get.
Love the live bands Ive heard so far. They have all been great. The bar tenders are beautiful and so friendly. Great service. The security guys do a great job, too. I saw them last night help a guy who had fallen outside of the club who had a cut on his head from the fall. The guy was in good hands while the staff was helping him. Love going there. Highly recommend this club for anyone looking for a fun country music club!
This bar is pathetic. None of the bouncers/workers are trained in BLS (basic life support). A young girl was having a seizure tonight and every single worker made the poor girls situation worse. By holding her down, not support her head AND surrounding her and limiting her oxygen supply. A young woman almost DIED in this bar because the workers cannot handle the situation Correctly or safely. My friend, a trained and experienced EMT was kicked out because he respectfully offering genuine help and insight on the situation. There are many reason why I will NEVER come back to this bar especially because they let under age kids drink and smoke inside the facility. This establishment is beyond pathetic and unprepared for most situations/problems.
Had an issue with a potential stolen debit card. One of the managers Dave Riley was quick, professional and friendly while assisting me with the issue. Dave made it clear that Whiskey Baron cares about their customers experience. Overall we had a lot of fun here and look forward to coming back.
Everyone here was very polite. Its clean, and very spacious. The drinks were mixed well, and the dancing floor was always packed.
Went to take a bathroom break and gawleeeeee there was a couple in the bathroom stall next to me. Dudes be kicking the door tryna get in. They were taking some kinda drugs in the restroom. Definitely need a security dude in the bathroom because that was wack.
What a place!! Wednesday 18+ night is kicking. Great folks and good vibes.
I had a really great time here! The bar was super clean, service was great drinks were reasonably priced, and I loved it the music wasn’t so loud that it hurt and you weren’t able to have a conversation. It’s mostly line dancing, and they offer classes a couple nights a week. The ladies in my group were excited about this! I will return.
Nice venue, had music to amplified and too much bass. Restless Roads harmonys are their sweet spot, was almost impossible to hear them over the music. Food was okay but many items were not in stock.
Thank the Lord we finally have a decent country bar in town again. 🤠 Love that they put so much effort into live music 🎶 and local bands! Free line dance lessons is a great thing to! 🕺🏼💃🏼 Don’t leave an open tab though; I’ve have had issues three times I’ve been there with them charging for drinks I didn’t have. Keep a close eye on your receipts! Not sure if it’s intentional, although it might be since it’s happened on multiple occasions with different bartenders.
This bar/dance hall is one of the best. It takes all the good things from country and western bars, and includes the feel of a nightclub. The location means you never have to go downtown to have a night out, the singer/band acts are pretty amazing for the place being so new, the dance floor is gigantic, there are literally bars situated perfectly around the place so youre never more than 30 feet away from a refill, and their waitstaff is pretty polite. The only thing I dislike, not enough to take a star away, is their smoking area. With it being Colorado, they could do to get some coverage of some kind over the smoking area. Other than that, this place is awesome for good music and dancing.
My first time to this dance hall was for a Tailored West fashion show. Have no clothes ruin your Dancehall I was extremely excited to go preview the Dancehall with friends and family. It was full of people but I am so excited to put on my dancing shoes next time.
Always a good time at Whiskey, good variety of music and very friendly and respectful staff. Much larger dance floor compared to Cowboys, and overall better environment. Love to support local veterans as well.
This was the first time here, and it was a total blast! Saw Cody Cozz and Restless Road last night and we had the best time! Love the atmosphere! Great music and got to see some amazing dancing! The WB dancers were phenomenal!!! All the staff were very courteous and friendly. Looking forward to going to the WB again!!
Always have a blast dancing here. Brandon is one of the security guys, and he will even get out on the dance floor. If you are nervous about dancing with someone, grab him! Fun crowd and fun people! Highly recommend.
2023 Colorado State Arm Wrestling Championships were awesome. Great venue! Awesome food trucks!
Whiskey Baron is a great place but the bouncers ruin it. They are on a power trip 24/7 and will kick you out for the most minimal stuff. I understand kicking out drunkens who cause issues but they literally forcefully and in an assault type way remove some visitors who haven’t caused any issues. I even see it on guests who are talking to friends lonesomely! If they had asked these guest to leave, I am sure they would politely leave. But, the security decides to take forceful and violent measures to remove individuals. Why would anyone condone this? I have also had numerous guests tell me about the “fake ID” they used to get in! I am 40+, why would I want to spend time with teenagers! Absolute bogus! I hope they fix this as this used to be a great spot!
Really nice place!!I went on a Wednesday. It was more of a younger crowd, I didnt stay long because it was kind of overwhelming and late.
Good atmosphere if you’re trying to hook up with someone but otherwise just a bunch of college students trying to hook up and party. Definitely attracts the younger crowd.
This place is excellent - the service, atmosphere, and general vibe is great. We visited from out of town having been to their similar property in another town. Every bartender was always helpful and attentive. The staff working the door were polite. We called to verify hours and stuff, even the phone folks acted like they cared! The music/band was good both Thursday and Friday. DJ played a few requests (I saw people whining about tipping? Really? You don’t tip? Or whine about a couple bucks?). We’ve been to our share of country bars, and this is one of our favorites now. We will be back, and I’m comparing it against several major cities too. Thanks for such great hospitality team and Larry.
Great place to dance! Great music.... except for when the line dancers take over.... then its too much like Grizzly Rose...... not enough room for the rest of us.
BE CAREFUL! My friend believes he was roofied by a bartender a few months back. Coming Wednesday night, it was my first time in. I am confident a bartender roofied me. I was injured, my purse was stolen. I DO NOT RECOMMEND drinking at this facility.
We loved it here! It was a great date night. We went on a night with free line dancing lessons, which were a lot of fun. It was nice to be in a crowd with such a variety of ages. We also made use of the pool tables and played some shuffleboard. Bar food was pretty good and the drinks are great!
Best country dance hall in town!
Amazing management! We had a great time here last night but our card got stolen and we were charged $150 more, but Dave was extremely helpful and understanding when I mistakenly had jumped to conclusions. We will definitely recommend this place and be back knowing the staff cares.
This place is the best country themed bar in the Springs. Friendly staff, strong drinks, and great live music make for fun nights here. We’ve needed a quality line dance floor like this for years and now there is one. Highly recommended!
This place is good. I am not a fan of country music or country bars, so my rating is an attempt at remaining objective. The place was clean, beer was cold and people were friendly. I wish they had more local microbrews available, but from my experience, that is common in country bars. Good local country bar if thats yo thang!
The bartender Taylor was amazing! I came here with my family from Texas and she was great and absolutely I would say the whole place was amazing, I love the vibe and people around, thank you for the awesome experience! I’ll coming back for sure
We cant speak highly enough of this very hospitable honkytonk. The bouncers do a great job of making sure that youre safe. The wait staff was extremely friendly. The bar food is great. The drinks were reasonably priced and good. The Acoustics for the live music was perfect. They have a sound tech. And the dance floor is Kick-Ass. Weve been several times so this isnt just a fluke. It has become our new hang out. We would really love to see this place succeed. Its exactly what the Springs needed.Thank you so much.Brent and Diane
This place has been a fantastic bar to go to since they have opened. Have had no issues till tonight. The security wanted to kick everyone out at 1:24. Their posted time of closing is 2 am. I had a Uber arriving in 5 minutes at the security kicked me out and made me wait in the 14 degree weather. Why should I every visit c springs again if they are going to close early and then not allow people to call Ubers till their posted closing time.
I can say for myself this is one of the best country western clubs I have been to. Having three bars and a giant dance floor makes out better. Plus the atmosphere is very fun and inviting. A definite must visit especially if you are new to Colorado Springs.
I went for the first time, and its been a LONG time since Ive been out dancing. I used to go to the old Cowboys, that run-down hole in a wall that was on palmer park that was always a blast... when I was 16-18 years old. For a while now, our choices have been cowboys or copperhead... Id rather stay in than deal with overly crowded places with people acting like drunk fools. Needless to say, I went to DANCE! It was really nice, not overly crowded where you had to push through people to get anywhere, but plenty of people. There is a sunken dance floor thats huge and surrounded by three bars up top, I read that drinks are pricey... theyre club prices really, so whatever, really not a big deal. Bartender recognized me by my second time up; the ladies who work there were very sweet; bouncers/security were really nice too! The establishment as a whole was very clean. Another thing I noticed was, yeah they played those line dances everyone knows, like the wobble, but they only played them once! Awesome! I enjoy doing those dances, but once a night is enough for me. Its a nice place though, more refined, this will be my club of choice. Only way they could improve in my mind is getting beer on draft; but Im a beer drinker. Until next time WB!
Fun dance hall to enjoy good music and line dancing!
Bad bouncers, made an 18yo pay to get in when she was trying to leave and go home.
This place is way better than Cowboys. Holds its place as the most authentic cowboy bar. Some days they have live music and other days they have other events going on. My favorite part about this place is the fact that they play country music throughout the night and never switch over to hip-hop and rap like Cowboys does.
Whiskey Baron is probably my favorite place to dance for Country Swing, and the staff there is amazing. Ive been going pretty much every other week the past year and never had any bad experiences. Definitely worth trying even if youre not huge into country music.
I went there Saturday night for a little bit and it was awesome! I liked the drinks and the service was quick and the music was good. I really enjoyed it. Go check it out if you havent! Authentic country bar and lots of fun :)
Id like to thank Miss Shelbe for helping out with dance lessons Saturday, August 20. She did not have to, but saw a void in couples dancing and filled it. That is the mark of a good Manager. She also hustled over to help her co-worker tend bar on the south side as the co-worker was receiving a lot a business. Patrons notice and will frequent more times than you can imagine. Give Shelbe a high five next time you see her!!!
PLEASE BE CAREFUL GIRLS! this bar has had several investigations for girls being roofied and other very questionable scenarios. Girls don’t leave your drinks unattended, it’s no longer a safe place to go!
I wasn’t drunk. or high. and i was forcibly dragged and removed from the premises on suspicion. i asked why suspicion and the bouncer replied “because i know your kind”. Completely inappropriate and embarrassing to be treated this way. when i called to find out who dragged me out, it was the owner himself and not a bouncer. i cannot fathom the level of disrespect that was shown by the owner, completely unprofessional. if i could give it zero stars i would. If you want to be assaulted and dragged around this is the place for you, otherwise i would choose a different dance hall.
First time to the Whiskey Baron, and that place is amazing! The staff is obviously very proud of the bar and very professional. The sunken dance floor is really a cool feature. Definitely the best place in Co. Springs to go out and will be going back ASAP!
Well I tried it.... This place is ok my only problems were, it was hard to get drinks and food and the customer service was sub par at best. When I went up the bar to get a drink it took like ten minutes to get one. It was slow at the time too. And they do have waitresses but good luck getting them to come to your table (like they do at other bars). And the way they do food reminds me of the dmv. My biggest problem was I got there at around 730 and didnt have to pay a cover charge but around like 9 I realized I forgot my cigarettes in my car. But when I went to go back inside they made me pay the cover. It was stupid. The music was live and not bad. All in all not my kind of place. Would have been a lot better with better customer service.
Great place to enjoy a night out with friendly people.
Loved it! Was so wonderful getting back out on the dance floor after so many years and love that its a more mature crowd. But being single again though was a bit challenging because most everyone in this age range seems to already have a partner. Still wont stop me from going back though!😉
Their dancefloor is so inconsistent... its liked dancing on sandpaper in one spot then slick as ice in anouther... its like it was made for tennis shoes or rubber boots... not a great place for skilled dances... atmosphere is dark saloon-ish... like one of those dive bars but cleaner. I do like that they have water available without having to talk to the bartender. Unlike cowboys... but its definitely like a local bar type feel. Staff seemed nice... find it idiotic they have a cover charge for a bar in colorado springs lol but w/e i rarely go there.
Loved it!!!!! Thursdays are ladies night. No cover, guys cover $5.00Ladies drink free after 10pm. Great crowd. Large dance floor. Clean, staff is great.
They don’t pay attention to anybody that doesn’t fit their beauty standards and when you do order a drink they don’t make your drinks right. Whiskey baron consistently serves underaged drinkers. Also they never clean their shot glasses.
Had my best friend fly in from another state and she had her passport that is a government issued id, and was turned away for college night. With this being said she is under 21, college night is 18 and up. She was in the 21 and under line and the denied her government issued passport, while being very disrespectful at the same time. There website says they except passports and we had waited in an hour in a half line to get in just too be denied with a government issued Id and charged the $5 fee. Staff was very rude and had no time to help the situation. We had requested a manger and the person at the door had told us one was not present, absolutely ridiculous, and extremely rude inconsiderate staff members.
Bartenders were not very friendly. If u asked them for anything they looked burdened. One even ignored me and I watched him ignore my friend and another woman. The atmosphere was fun and the dancing was great. Not to many people which was a definite plus. I would go back and try again.
Unless you like a crowd of drunk girls who just turned 21 or folks who are 50+, live music 90% of the time and zero line dancing (minus the Cupid Shuffle and the Wobble and who really counts those?) then I would highly recommend somewhere else. I get people love live music but honestly even the Grizzly Rose has at least 30-45min of music in-between sets if it isnt a concert. Not to mention the live band tonight played one of the songs we just heard the DJ play during the break, that should definitely be coordinated! Expensive drinks, no beer on tap, what kind of country bar is this really? For all the people so excited about the mechanical bull, no one was riding it. Its sad theyve been open mere weeks and they have a very small crowd compared to other country bars around town, not surprising after my experience tonight.
Best place to trash the parking lot ive ever been too. Its better than paying 5 dollars and getting yelled at by a deaf guy demanding to dance with every human with breasts that happens on the inside!
If you like country, heres your spot. Super awesome staff. I love that all different types of people come here to line dance and listen to good music with live music on most weekends. Their pub-grub type food is also delicious.
Y’all had a new DJ June 21st and he wasn’t great and repsonse extremely poorly to requests, the line dances were placed in the middle of club songs leaving little room for people to actually line dance and when asked for a song I was just flat out told no, bartenders were great as they always are though
Im going to give them a 5🌟,even though I never entered, but was only painting the exterior. The music was lively and the people inside were having a great time. There were no problems and everyone I encountered while I was working was very nice.It is a place I will be going soon, and Ill let you know how that goes.
Visited The Whiskey Barron website beforehand to check out the place and saw great drink specials. Advertised for Whiskey Wednesdays was $2 well whiskeys and $4 Jack Daniels which is what I used to advertise to my friend that I took to get him to go with me. Upon arrival we mentioned the drink special and were told those specials do not apply to concert event days. This was stated nowhere on the specials, FAQ page or on the tickets that we saw and was a good thing it was mentioned before the final bill came.
I love this place! Its my new honky tonk! I love the music, its not a whole lot of new stuff but a great combination of old and new and Ive got to meet alot of new up and coming country artists. If you want a place to go to where its not so crowded and good music, both live and DJ...Whiskey Baron is THE place to go!
I love this place. Everyone is phenomenal on staff and I like the laid back atmosphere. Try the egg rolls OMG soo good. Live music is hit or miss but Im always looking for a new sound. Drink specially are looking up. I couldnt ask for a better place to call home. Been here since day one. Im a happy Mama!!!
Finally a country bar to bring Colorado Springs into prime time. Couldnt imagine doing it better myself. Great staff-love the themed attire, great energy, clean... i enjoyed being here. Great date place. Great band, Good drink specials. Not a hootchie bar-thank goodness. The only thing that could make it better is Colorado draft beer but definitely a place to go. Ill be back for sure. Real country bar. Bring it Springs! Come our and help this place succeed.
Best local country bar and live music venue in Colorado Springs. The owner is the DJ and really plays a great mix to keep the crowd going! Great staff and a friendly crowd
Regulars will call management on you and get you kicked out if you’re not following proper dancing protocol/ on the dance floor with a drink (first time there so had no idea about that rule). It was clearly a request taken from an older gentleman and his rude wife who were so focused on my doings. Staff didn’t give me a chance to close out my tab and we’re very inconsiderate/ rude. Don’t waste your time in this strip mall POS.
We were surprised to get there at 6:30 to discover dance lessons in progress! We hope to get there earlier next time to take advantage of the free lessons. However from 7 to 9 pm just a DJ who would not take requests. All the songs were slow 2 steps. But at 9, a great Band came on and then the dancing and music was much better.
Great fun! Warm, inviting, and beginner friendly. Great place for a classic night out . Also, good food for a bar.
Would recommend to anyone trying to have a fun night. One star because if you are trying to leave the club sober or not the bouncers will try to assault you since they are on a power trip.
Good place for cheap drinks and country dancing and live music on certain nights. No beer on tap, only cheap and mass produced bottled and canned beers. Liquor shelves are minimally stocked with cheap booze. Bartenders are dressed in corsets, and flirty/friendly. There are a few pool tables, dart boards and a bar table shuffleboard. Usually packed with lots of military from the Army, Air Force and students from the Air Force Academy; testosterone fueled tiffs pop-up, but the security is ever present and well-mannered provided youre not being a jerk.
Best place for line dancing and two stepping in the Colorado springs area. Thursday nights are usually the best if you havent been before. 5 dollar cover after 9 but the drinks are pretty cheap
This was a great place to learn to line dance. The instructors were nice and attentive. It is a very clean establishment. The drinks are strong and made well. The food is typical quick bar food, but was hot and delicious.
I would expect a little bit better atmosphere and music, especially for the price of a $10 shot with a cover charge.
The Drinks were great but it was a Slow day so there werent that many people Dancing
As a Cowboys patron of 15 years & an avid dancer, I was excited to try The Whiskey Baron. When I first arrived, I was impressed by the size of the place & the sunken dance floor was an amazing focal point. We were able to find a table that had a great view of the dancing; however, the service was terrible. During our 3.5 hour stay, we saw a server twice and thats only after getting up to go find her. Perhaps its because she was on the dance floor during her shift! Is that your policy? When we did receive drinks, they were weak, inconsistenly poured, served in cheap plastic cups, and overpriced. I have no problem paying for drinks, but not if they are half shots with mostly soda (I watched the pours since I had to go get the drinks from the bar.) We then decided to order the grilled chicken sliders via the walk-up method (waited there for 10 minutes before someone noticed) and they were tasty. The live band was a pleasant surprise & the music was decent. Perhaps the dance floor wouldnt clear after each song if they strung a few songs together instead of stopping and speaking unintelligibly in between each song. At a dance place, the goal is to keep the floor full, right? The mechanical bull is a fun feature, but nobody was riding it the whole time we were there. For a Saturday night, The Whiskey Baron should have been poppin. It wasnt. Perhaps this is due to the reasons stated above. We came there to have a great experience & were disappointed. We wanted to share The Whiskey Baron with our large dance community. Sadly, that wont happen.
This is a great Honky-Tonk! Big dance floor. Great acts coming in all the time. Fair prices on drinks. The sound is perfect. Will be back to party more!
One of the best if not the best honky tonk from Cheyenne, WY. to El Paso, TX.
The outside is deceiving! 3 large bars when you walk in and a huge dance floor. Yes this is a country type bar. There are a few pool tables, shuffle board, and darts. Drink prices are on par with other places in town.
Tired of seeing the 1/2 naked girls and drugstore “cowboys” at the other places in town? Check out Whiskey Baron! Friday and Saturday nights have been fun with great live bands, the usually dj sticks to country music, there are games to play when you’re not on the dance floor, and the crowd is enjoyable. My only negative has been that the line dancing lessons weren’t what we hoped they’d be.
Great atmosphere! Its awesome that they have a live band, and I love that they have live bands. Keep the deals up, and dont charge more for drinks than other country bars, and this place will do phenominal!
New venue bringing a lot of great bands to the springs. Can be a bit of a line and wait to get drinks on concert nights but otherwise that would be my only gripe. There is usually 1 bar that is throwing drinks out pretty impressive so scout out their 3 bars.
Great! Went on college night which is Wednesday its mainly line dancing and a huge college age crowd. I look forward to going on a different night. Huge dance floor though.
I was the DD and went outside to get air because it got really hot and leaned on the black gate that apparently wasn’t latched and fell backwards. I caught myself with the help of my boyfriend and immediately a security comes up and kicks me out. My boyfriend argued with her for a bit and she didn’t care. The people I was supposed to take home were still inside and I barely could get a hold of them. They have security but not in the right places nor with the proper training or understanding. Will not be going back they were so disrespectful.
Great country bar offering live music and often have big name artist pass through from time to time, food and great drink prices. Grab your friends for a fun night of drinks, darts and line dancing!
If line dancing is your thing, this is the spot. They bring in local bands, have dance lessons, great staff, decent food, kinda pricey
Such a beautiful place! Ok parking, seems to fill up fast in the top there. Stage and dancefloor are nice. Good ramps and stairs for accessibility and the bathrooms are always clean too :)
We had so much fun! Band was great! Staff was really nice. Clean and fun place to go!
I love dancing here! They have great line dance lessons at the beginning of the night and plenty of line dances & two step throughout the night. Thursdays ladies drink free for a few hours as well.
Very clean and nice place, but I was disappointed with the lessons. I felt like an outsider- people were just not as friendly as Im use to and they didnt seem to be having fun, just going through the motions. Went to play darts, and they didnt even have a complete set.
Love this place! Not just a bar, but a great DANCE place! They also gv free Dance lessons on certain nights. They hv pool, darts & shuffle board, & live bands/concerts on select dates. They hv staff/bouncers always around, & free parking. What they still need is Beer on tap, cheaper DRINK prices/more Specials throughout the night--like Cowboys does. Also, wish they cld open a 2nd Club in town towards S.E. side of town on Powers Blvd, or on 85/87 in Fountain/Security area where theres nothing great around!
Had an amazing time, great atmosphere, amazing staff, and great music. Great time for everyone who was in my party, definitely a place to go for a good time.
I’ve never been on Saturdays, but it has a great vibe. I’ll definitely be back!
Fun atmosphere and very friendly staff. The owner, Dave, is awesome and very personable. Plus, hes a veteran so I will always choose to support his business!
Went 4 karaoke, loved it
It was my first time there and someone bumped me and it turned out to be one of the ‘security’ guys and he tried to choke me out, put me into a headlock, because he got super aggressive about bumping into me apparently. I flipped him off after bumping because he called me names and I thought it was some stuck up entitled guy but it was a worker there. He handled it very unprofessionally and honestly I might file a lawsuit because I had literally just walked in and he bumped into me for no reason whatsoever. I do actually have witnesses plus most of the people that are witnesses I work with. Thank you for coming to ny Ted talk.
-The sound system is horrible. When the DJ plays, the music is too quiet, but if the music is turned up slightly, it damn near blows a speaker, so the music stays quiet. If a live band plays, it damn near blows an ear drum out.-There is no outside covered area for smoking.-Not a lot of current music played, mostly just the current bands personal music-Dance floor is hard to dance on due to what appears to be over waxing.
My friend and I were using the bathroom, and one of the workers claimed she was “washing off her x” (we aren’t 21) when she was just washing off her hands. She then proceeded to kick her out when the X as well as her number were still clearly visible… The X does tend to come off when you use the restroom and are practicing good hygiene and when you’re dancing your hands get sweaty too… disappointed
Horrible service, waited 45-1hr just to get a drink and the bouncers think they are apart of the police force following people to their cars, making threats to people outside waiting for rides. overall the most disrespectful and unprofessional business i’ve ever been to.
Great atmosphere for a Saturday night. Great music and bartenders were great.
Great atmosphere and service!! From the bartenders to the security, everyone is so polite and looks like theyre enjoying the night as much as we did! I will definitely come back.
Ill give it a better ranking when they get a tap system. Great staff!Response to your response: Get some taps and 86 the bouncer squad and Ill come back. If not, I dont think Ill be the only patron you lose.
I accidentally ended up at this bar after a concert! Our cab driver saw our cowboy hats and thought we would love it! Well luckily we DO love country music. However it was DEAD!!! I said lets just take a chance.... then we met Stephanie, our cute bartender in a saloon girl dress, who said all beers are in a can and shots in a dixie cup?! So whatll ya have? I said ... a six pack and some mouthwash...lol!! Nobody was there, but we were having a blast! 1 hour goes by... bar speeds up awesome country band then comes in Dustin Brown main dude/GM amazing hospitality!!! I have And would NEVER had expected to have soooo much fun!!! If you wanna kick your boots up, laugh, dance, and let loose with perfect company (until tonight) I would never HAVE guessed here!!!! DIAMOND IN THE ROUGH!!! Thank you DustinBrown!!!!!
Everyone nice ,great staff 👍, only issue was people standing in front of our table, trying to watch Chauncey Williams play, next time, sit down so Everyone can enjoy concert 😉
Very nice and safe place to go dancing. However the dance instructor tries to put a lot if elements into a one hour session. Recommended taking a private lesson
Love layout one of the nicest restrooms Ive ever seen in a bar, sound system was great for live band, only suggestion could mix up music 70s and 80s with dj. Awesome bar!
Great place! Staff was really nice. Dance lessons were fun, although their website says 2step lessons on Thursdays and it was all line dancing. We will visit again.
From Brooklyn NY not a country type but boy o boy this place is amazing live band n a great atmosphere security is really great n the staff n bar tenders where very nice for get the rest n party at the best......
Total disregard for mask compliance especially on the dance floor. The staff does absolutely nothing to enforce it. There was no spacing in between any of the tables or seating areas along the rails.
The set up in this bar is fantastic. The lower dance floor is amazing and fun to dance on. The drinks are a little pricy, and the selection of whiskey good be better. Had a great time!!
An awesome country dance venue! Live bands, free dance lessons, a mechanical bull, beautiful cowgirls, handsome cowboys...this place has it all! Country dance floor is always open. My favorite place, hands down!
The bartender didnt even ask of we wanted a tab, just straight demanded payment. Ordered food shortly after the drinks, never received my change. I dont deal well with entitled serving staff, especially when Im a server myself.
Good drinks, dancing, and usually always have fun when I go. Also played pool last time I was there.
Was a great event, just wish they wouldnt have started the event almost 2 hours late as it forced us to leave early.
Great place to kick back and have fun especially if you like line dancing
Cool place to dance and hang out. They play a good variety of songs (slow, fast, line dances, etc.)
Our band (Ashlee Tatum and the Longshot Revival) played here last Saturday night. What a room! Incredible dance floor. The staff was gracious, and accommodating. Lots of dancers!
Everything was great...drinks, staff, games, bar setup! Im giving this a 3 star cause the band they have was awful and they played ALL night! Couldnt understand a word the girl singer was saying as she was eating the microphone Luke a dick. I rather have the DJ play all night than hear them play ALL night. I wont be coming back, sadly. Band ruined it for us. #getthemoffthestage #kickheroutoftheband #dontplayallnight #boooo #someonehadtobehittingthattolethersing
Tons of fun with my line dancing ladies!!! Love seeing the young fellas getting into social dancing.
Great bar. Band was not good enough to be playing there.Edit -Most nights the band isReally good, and the sound guy does a great job.
Best country dance bar in Colorado Springs. Big dance floor. Great atmosphere and staff. The regulars are so friendly.
Great place for country dancing or hanging out with friends. Hardly any wait at the bar, and a large variety of country music played to dance to.
This place is great! line dance lessons wed-sat different levels! it is empty when they open at 6 pm which is nice. lots of space to dance and great instructors
Was kinda eh, didnt think Id be spending 6$ for a plastic cup of oj with a drop of Jameson on the side though. Maybe put prices on the side next to the drinks names? Cowboy music youd hear on a cartoon. Had a better playlist on my headphones honestly, 2 stars cause an AMG and Jaguar were outside so that was pretty awesome, and the dude with the 2015+ STI, exhaust sounded clean
The bar is great, the staff is horrible. The security is extremely over zealous and the bartenders are rude as hell. Could be a great spot if it wasnt for these two major downfalls.
Was harassed by security for no reason. Threatened to take my 18 y/o sisters real ID.
They had a live band which was nice. You can get a drink easily from one of their multiple locations in the place. I liked the way the dance floor was set up.
I dont like how they have their female bartenders dressed up.... But overall good place. Made me miss REAL country bars, but this place did their best for Colorado.
Great dancing, awesome barkeeps, and amazing music. We had a great visit to Colorado Springs and glad we went to Whiskey Barron on one of our nights out.
Cool vibe, spacious and fun. Free line dancing lessons were fun but not for novices or anyone unfamiliar with line dancing as she goes over instructions very fast and are very complicated.
Its a booze thing. Im a Jameson Black or Caskmates fan . I do not drink beer, but I bet the tap would sell a lot more. I do love the live music. Tonight, I was able to one shot of Caskmates, then there was none in the whole place. I was offered a Jaeger Bomb, poor substitute for good whiskey. I can drink good whiskey from a plastic cup, but a double should be a double. Love the atmosphere, and it is possibly the cleanest bar Ive ever been in. Just keep tweeking things, and it will get better
Service was super slow. No credit card tabs. Ok cool, use the ATMCome back and they had no change for 20$. Pretty absurd.
Great dancers! So much fun to watch and Courtney was a great server! Good drinks, would go again!
Being a former DJ you have to enjoy and like all types of music in which I do this would be my first Adventure since Cowboys way back in the day and Gilleys out in Pueblo well see so I got there I met my date and the line dancing instructor is pretty good I cant line dance at well and I realized how foolish I looked so I stopped and started shooting pool with that my date very nice lady hi Jody overall the experience the music the People The Waitresses overall environment 9 out of 10
Youd get 5 stars if you had some good whiskey and the mixers for the whiskey cocktails. I was thrown off by the name of the bar.... I thought thered be some whiskey... but I guess its just in the name. LOL!
Does not close at two am - the owner kicked us out at 1:43am after we had scheduled the Uber for 2They had started pushing people out at 1:37am10/10 would recommend not trusting their time
Good dancing on Thursdays a lot of real dancers show up at 7.Sound system is not great really muddy not clear.
Fun place with shuffleboard, dancing, and a mechanical bull, but has a poor beer selection. Youre looking at mostly bottled domestics--nothing local. I dont remember there being anything on tap either.
Great fun! Saw Extreme Dwarf Wrestling here! Plenty of space and lots of fun!
Great music and plenty of bars, still trying to understand why they only have plastic cups. Cups in any sports bar is a very big turn off for me, not classy at all.
Large dance floor & 3 different bars t.v.s all over, plent of barmaid 2 help serve customers, d.j & live bands are a plenty. If Ur in B4 8p.m. on band No cover!
Nice country bar. Music is always good. Line dances played between live sets. Drinks are reasonably priced.
So much fun, always plenty of room to dance. Tons of bars/bartenders so youre helped right away. I always have a great time here!
Stopped in to have a drink. Ended up staying for a couple of hours. The bartender, Taylor, was awesome and the people I met while there were very friendly.
Dance hall with ample 2-step. Good mix of newer and older country. Music at good dance volume but people can still talk without yelling at each other.
*Shrug* Meh. Its what you would regularly expect. Different angle. Brand new. Liked some of the subtle aspects. VERY loud (yes, Im over 40). Theyre good. Go there. Have fun.
Security guards are super rude. Took my actual ID, claiming it was a fake.
