This place is absolutely amazing! My fiance and I feel so welcome, and enjoy every experience! Shout outs to amazing faces to see…. Vince, Stevie, Debbie, Nathan, Roy, Jason! And more! Such an amazing time, will make this place our forever home bar!

Safe place, and fun! But the music makes it unfun I understand the house music but it seems you play it to keep others out but honestly I’ve been here a few times and it’s all meshing together every single song sounds the same. Some songs that people can sing along too would be nice. The music honestly kills the entire vibe. Its honestly miserable at some points, but most people just put up with it because it’s the only gay bar with a patio and people think isn’t problematic but the music is just terrible.

Awol is one of my new favorite places to go and feel completely safe, free and have a great time. Last night for there glow party, the atmosphere was so much fun. The staff has always treated me so well and I do enjoy there awesome drinks, but Im a size queen type of guy and they deliver. Michael K offered amazing service and made me feel appreciated. Always look forward to my time there.

They won’t let you leave with a bottle of WATER. I mean what are the expectations here? It’s water…that your bar made me pay a ridiculous amount of money for. Get out of here.Please provide ohio revised code section where that is stated.

(Disclaimer) There was a man who ordered a quesadilla with no onion instead he received chopped scallions. I spoke with him and asked him about his business at this established and he said that he was a famous writer and reviewer. He had mentioned how they completely ignored his request for no onions. And in front of me spit his food out. Continued to tell me about how he was a famous book writer and experienced reviewer. Shortly after I asked him for his credentials he fled from the establishment. Be careful of the reviews you read. This is a great LGBTQIA BAR. all are welcome. Especially pups. cant speak on the food cause Ive never ordered any but as far as everything else goes it is the best gay bar in Columbus. I love very many of them but this one has to be the best of all. Especially the barracks 😋 theres always events and they try to keep you cozy. There is also a place to put your coats and jackets and such and its only a few bucks.

Spent a couple evenings here, and really had a good time both nights. There was a show Friday and a DJ on Saturday. Met quite a few of the patrons and looking forward to meeting more. Its a place I could see me hanging out at, in the near term.And since this review, AWOL has become my home. Even though Covid, I patronized the club. And with the relaxation of restrictions dancing has returned. Masking may be required for a couple more weeks, but its fun to meet someone new here.

They only sell water in bottles, which is fine. As I was leaving the place they told me that I was not allowed to bring my bottled water out with me. One of the dumbest things Ive ever heard a business say.

I brought my friends from out of state here. They wanted to see our downtown and go to a couple bars. The only problem was it was on a MONDAY and on MLK day (nowhere was open and it was freezing outside). We found awol :)))) the bartender was so sweet and they were having karaoke night. It ended up getting a decent amount of people in. For a very layed back kind of night it was still really fun and everyone was really kind.

Asked the DJ to play a some during pride weekend - was told by his “assistant” he is a $3000 DJ he doesn’t take requests- normally I drive down from Cleveland - will make sure I don’t ever come back for a special event - ridiculous

Great atmosphere, the layout is really nice and works great for hosting events. The owner is super friendly.And dont forget to grab a bite from the food cart that sits right outside the front door on nights with a scheduled event. The gyros are 10/10

3 separate bars with slightly different atmospheres. The staff is friendly. Karaoke nights are always a good time. The parties in the back bar are fun too.

I absolutely love this place. Staff and patrons are super friendly with an emphasis on providing a fun and safe place for the LGBT community. There is a dance area at the end of the bar and also a spacious and nice smoking area. Large parking lot available across the street with also limited street parking. Very busy on the weekends with live performers and DJs.

Really like the atmosphere and crowd, but the drinks came in small plastic Dixie cups. If Im paying $14 for 2 mixed drinks I expect more than a 10 oz plastic cup partially filled and not proportioned correctly. Broke and sober after 3 rounds, didnt feel like dancing. resorted to jello shots which were only $1 and delicious, but left me with a wicked hangover

Came here a couple years ago for a friends birthday. Everyone was super friendly, good and reasonably priced drinks. The back patio is very impressive.

It was dead for a kareoke night in the middle of Pride. Me and my partner were still willing to make it a good night despite that the bar had a dance floor which I’ve definitely missed since covid but the old tired quee. bartender outside was disrespectful and kicked us out the second I was medicating myself for anxiety with some cannabis and I feel he was just looking for a reason to make us leave which was a mistake on their part seeing as I tip over 20% on my tabsHated it probably won’t be back

Welcoming bar with multiple spaces. Always have had good service from bar staff and enjoy their drag shows. Don’t live in Columbus so don’t visit often, but when we can it’s a great time. Also, they have a diverse beer selection that I love!

Chris, the bartender is great! This is a nice bar with an enclosed patio off the back. Prices are good and the happy hour pricing makes it really affordable. Popular hangout for the local gay scene.

Features a beautiful courtyard patio, flanked by the main bar in front and a dance hall in the rear, which is open on weekends and during events.The bar staff is courteous and aesthetically pleasing. Drinks are cheap and generously served. The clientele is diverse, ranging from folks around the Olde Towne East neighbourhood, as well as a variety of bears, drag queens, young professionals, etc. coming from a wide range of ages.Ive always felt welcome at AWOL; the venue maintains a pleasant and safe environment for folks from all walks of life, which enhances the diversity and social atmosphere in the venue.AWOL hosts a variety of weekly events, such as karaoke nights, drag shows, weekend dance nights, and community events. The layout of the bar affords ample space to move around, explore, and wander from room to room.As Parsons Ave continues to undergo an urban renaissance, I look forward to seeing AWOL grow and develop further as an outstanding queer venue in Columbus.

The Barracks at AWOL is a smaller venue inside AWOL. Went to the Black Ops Industrial/goth night there, and it was amazing. The dance floor is nicely sized, the prices at the bar were reasonable, and the mixed drinks were well made. As a bonus, the room had air conditioning with plenty of vents, so I didnt have to stop dancing to cool off. Absolutely recommended.

Great bartenders, friendly staff, awesome karaoke. Glad to see a place spending money on itself to constantly improve and expand. Careful where you park, half the lot across the street is ok, the other half not.

AWOL is my neighborhood bar! Great atmosphere, drink prices & space. The bar tenders & owner are top notch! Plus they are very supportive of great causes with their time & resources (HIV/STI awareness, breast cancer and many more).

Went last night with a friend he went to go get a drink and the older bartender upfront told him he wouldnt serve him because he didnt tip even though he was using my card so no tip would be included so they left the tab open and had to pay 36 dollars for just two drinks because they left the tab open but didnt give my friend the drinks

Didnt catch the bartenders name but was extremely relieved to find a friendly atmosphere with an attentive bartender. Me and my husband visited on Wednesday night and receive excellent service. Thank you for your hospitality.

What a great night it was supposed to be, Saturday night, Columbus pride was great and then I get terrible service and jilted by the bar staff! I asked for two long Island iced teas for me fella and I. They proceeded to pour a cheap mixer from the well, after I asked if they could make it from scratch, I was told thats it, 14 dollars. After I tried the drink, it was undrinkable, and that Id like something different. When I ordered two drinks that totaled only 6 dollars, Id asked for my difference. I was told thats not happening, were done here from the bar tender. I am so upset that I got ripped off from this shabby establishment! This is not the place for me! Good luck, glad Im not AT AWOL!

Gay bar for men. Pretentious bartenders. Clunky layout. Not female friendly. Parking is ok. Drinks are over priced and underwhelming. Huge patio out back is what earns this joint 2 stars.

Just cannot beat their karaoke mondays. A lot of times Ive gone, so many extremely talented people have been there and it just adds to the experience of the night.

Love my birthday was grrreat was only in Ohio 5 days.

At Midnight the bartender told us we needed to quiet down because people live above the bar, shouldn’t they be used to the noise?

Went for the BEEFQUAKE parties they have once a month. Killer DJs and drinks dont break the wallet. Best dancing ive done in Columbus in years. I hope they keep it up.

Bartender threw out my premium European beer which wasnt empty. Said sorry but didnt replace or offer a half pint to make up for it. Mentioned it to him later on but he didnt care. Customers are cattle?

Chris is a good bartender as someone who has bartended for 20 years I notice GREAT Customer service attentive to detail acknowledging everyone as they come up to his bar and doing an outstanding job of getting to everyone IT IS RARE!

Great place to hang out, different events weekly. The bartender Heath is truly amazing, very fast, and friendly.

Little hole in the wall bar but then its bigger then it seems. I like it and they have fun events. Love the shows.

I stopped in for the first time today and the bartender wasnt friendly at all, the mens bathroom door is broken and the hot water wont turn on.
